Hermione attends Teddy's birthday party but a certain blonde has all of her attention all day.
I think I have decided to stick to a theme with this story and gone with another song as my inspiration, this time 'All to Myself' by Dan + Shay.
This kind of got away from me, it isn't at all what I intended to write but here it is. It took on a life of its own.
Hermione readjusted the large, brightly wrapped box she had pinned under her left arm and opened the garden gate to the neat little cottage that she had visited a thousand times before. Even a few yards away from the building she could hear the sound of children's joyous screaming and a smile bloomed on her face. This was just the medicine she needed after the world's most boring meeting. It was Teddy's fifth birthday and Andromeda had decided to throw him a tea party for the family and all of his little friends from school. She reached the door and knocked sharply so that she could be heard over the commotion, a few moments passed before a slightly dishevelled looking Andie answered the door. The woman was wearing a rather lovely floaty floral dress but over the top was an apron that was smeared with a myriad of stains. Her chestnut curls were piled haphazardly on top of her head, being held in place by her wand.
"Hello love." Andie greeted warmly as she pulled Hermione inside the cottage and into an awkward side hug as she tried to avoid being jabbed by the box the younger woman was carrying. "I'm so glad you could make it."
"I'm sorry I'm late Andie." Hermione sighed and stepped further into the homely cottage so that Andromeda could shut the door behind her. "My meeting on the rights of underprivileged non-humans ran over, we are so close to having some landmark legislation passed. But obviously that means every being with the slightest objection is coming out of the woodwork all of a sudden."
"You're here now, that's all that matters." Andie squeezed her shoulder and smiled at her endearingly, a feeling of pride swelling in her chest as she thought about how far the young woman had come. "Go through to the garden Teddy will be ecstatic to see you."
The two women shared a deep look; Hermione never could have imagined the depth of relationship that would have developed between the two of them after the war. Andromeda had been missing her daughter, Hermione had been missing her parents and they had quickly found that they could bridge that gap in each other's lives somewhat. She always felt like she wanted to voice how much their relationship meant to her, how much she cared for her in a way that she didn't care about anyone else, but she could never find words for her feelings. She knew the older woman understood though, that she felt the same and didn't really need to be told, still it would be nice. As she felt her expression sadden a little Andie winked at her to break the heavy mood that had settled and slung her arm around the younger woman's shoulder to lead her into the living room. Hermione laughed and shrugged out of her hold to deposit her gift onto the rather large pile in the corner before following Andromeda into the little kitchen. The older witch went back to cutting up finger sandwiches while the younger headed through the back door and out into the beautiful spring afternoon.
The garden had been decorated with dinosaur banners and balloons and a plethora of mismatched chairs had been placed around the periphery of the grass. Three distinct groups had developed naturally. The excitable children were playing with the brightly coloured lawn toys together. Their parents were intermittently chatting and leaping up to attend to their child. And the family were in their own group on the opposite side of the garden laughing and sipping on Butterbeer. Hermione smiled as her eyes zeroed in, as they always did, on the form of Narcissa Black as she stood chatting with Ginny and fussing over baby James. The woman looked delectable; the sunlight was reflecting off her golden locks which she'd had cut into a stylish bob only a few weeks before. When Narcissa had mentioned to Hermione that she might go for a drastic change to her hairstyle she had been unsure to begin with, having developed quite a love of wrapping the silky tendrils around her fingers during their moments of passion. But she had to admit that the woman looked sexy as hell with her new look, she loved the way one side always seemed to slip into her face and that she got to tuck it gently back behind her ear. She loved that it gave her another excuse to touch her now. Narcissa was wearing an open necked, white silk blouse which she had tucked in to a pair of sinfully tight, deep blue jeans. Long gone were the stuffy robes, the older woman had ditched them the second she had been introduced to Dior and Gucci, and boy did she wear muggle high fashion well. Hermione let her eyes rove over Narcissa's shapely legs and she couldn't help but find herself jealous of those blue jeans and how they were allowed to hold the woman's body so tight. She wanted to march across the grass and kiss the woman senseless but she knew that would be incredibly ill advised. They had been seeing each other for a little over a year but had yet to tell anyone about their affair, they kept their dates to muggle restaurants and weekends away that they disguised as business trips. Despite their caution Ginny had convinced herself Hermione was seeing someone after she had caught site of a love bite on her collarbone that Narcissa had implored her not to glamour away. And she was pretty sure that Andromeda was on to them, thankfully the woman had more tact than to mention it outright. Narcissa was adamant that they should keep it a secret for now, whereas Hermione would happily shout it from the rooftops if she could. The older woman worried about a lot of things; how Draco would take to her being in a relationship with his old school rival, how the press would paint her as a predatory cougar and what Hermione's friends would say about it all. Hermione could care less about any of those things, but if they were important to the woman she loved then she would respect that.
"Auntie Mione!" Teddy's little voice shrieked, breaking her out of her ogling of the blonde witch. She turned just in time to see the little boy launch himself at her and she quickly crouched down to catch him and pull him securely against her body.
"Hello." Hermione cooed as Teddy wrapped himself around her and buried his little face into her neck as she stood up. She combed her fingers through his soft hair as it morphed from its usual turquoise to an almost neon orange, a sure sign that he was happy to see her. "Happy Birthday, Sweetheart."
"Thanks." Teddy beamed as he lifted his head so that he could look at her face, she stuck her tongue out at him and he giggled and pressed a wet kiss to her cheek. "I missed you."
"I only saw you three days ago." Hermione grinned as she leant forward and blew a loud raspberry on the little boy's neck causing his peals of laughter to ring out through the garden. "I came for tea with Auntie Cissa, remember?"
Teddy looked at his aunt with shy eyes before hiding his face against her chest and muttering bashfully. "I know, but I still missed you."
"Oh well, I'll have to make a special effort to get here more often then, wont I?" Hermione smiled softly and pressed a lingering kiss to the little boy's cheek. "I can't have my little Teddy upset."
"I'm not little anymore." Teddy announced, sitting up indignantly and puffing out his chest looking positively outraged. "I am five Auntie Mione!"
"Yes Auntie Mione." A silky voice drawled, causing both Hermione and Teddy's heads to snap around. Narcissa settled next to Hermione and smiled softly in that way that she only ever did around the younger woman, preening at the soft blush she incited. She cupped Teddy's cheeks between her hands affectionately as the little boy reached out for her. "Don't you know that five is when a little boy becomes a gentleman?"
"Oh how silly of me, how could I forget?" Hermione played along as she passed the squirming Teddy over to his other aunt. These little moments between the three of them always filled her heart to the brim, she loved being able to share a role in this little boy's life with Narcissa. It gave her a glimpse of what their lives could be like if they ever got to show off their relationship.
"Auntie Cissa is going to take me to a restaurant next week and show me how to act like a gentleman." Teddy said excitedly as he fiddled with the locket that Narcissa always wore around her neck. He slid his finger nail into the clasp but it wouldn't budge for him so he dropped it back against the blonde's skin and with a little gasp he looked at Hermione. "Maybe you can come with us!"
"I thought it was going to be our date Teddy." Narcissa pouted playfully, the boy smiled and flicked the tip of his finger against her jutting lip causing her mouth the make a little pop sound.
"It can be a date with Auntie Mione." Teddy answered excitedly as he looked between the two witches expectantly.
Narcissa bumped her shoulder against Hermione's to gain her full attention, they shared a long meaningful look and the corners of the blonde's lips pulled into a smirk. "A date with Auntie Mione…how novel."
"Can I go and play again now?" Teddy asked, effectively breaking the women's little moment.
"Of course darling." Narcissa declared as she kissed Teddy's hair before setting him gently back on his feet. Both women watched as the little boy scampered back over to his friends and instantly got himself involved in their game. The blonde leaned into Hermione just a little bit, enough to feed their desire for closeness but not enough to arouse any suspicion. Their well-practiced dance. "So it appears we have a date next week."
"Our very first official date out in the open." Hermione laughed as she brushed the backs of her fingers against Narcissa's for the briefest moment, enjoying the thrill even the lightest touch could incite. "How very exciting."
Narcissa let her eyes rove over Hermione's frame, not even flinching when the younger woman raised her eyebrow at her letting her know she had been caught. Hermione knew what her perfectly tailored suits did to her, or at least she should with the amount of times Narcissa had ripped them from her body in order to have her way with her. The Gryffindor shook her head subtly when their eyes met as if she had read the impure thoughts that had been racing through the older woman's mind. Narcissa grinned like a Cheshire Cat, not feeling the least bit guilty. "I'll be expecting you to behave like a gentleman too Hermione."
"Oh Narcissa." Hermione mocked as she turned her back on the older woman and took a few steps away, heading in the direction of a waving Harry and Ginny. She paused for a moment to look back over her shoulder with a cocky smirk. "You know I never behave."
Ginny smirked as Hermione approached and swiftly dumped a fussy James into the woman's arms. "Did you have fun fraternising with the enemy?"
"It has been a while since we considered Narcissa the enemy, Gin." Hermione chuckled as she lifted the six month old above her head and pulled a face at him to try to stop his grizzling.
"Yeah well, not all of us have seen the parts of her that you have Hermione." Ginny said as she winked suggestively at her friend.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Hermione shrieked as she settled James on her hip now that he didn't look like he was on the verge of an almighty crying fit.
"Ignore her." Harry pacified as he shot his wife an exasperated look that was met with a roll of the eyes from the ginger woman. "You know she's a wind up merchant. She's just mad that you won't tell her who you're seeing, her guesses get more outlandish every day."
Hermione took a deep breath and thanked the gods that Harry had managed to move the conversation away from the Narcissa Black danger zone. She decided to take a leaf out of the blonde's social etiquette book though and divert further with a suggestive comment. "Who said that I'm just seeing one person?"
"Your ridiculously busy schedule says you only have time to be seeing one person." Ginny snorted as she wiped a string of drool from James chin before it dripped onto Hermione's blazer. "You've had a business trip every weekend over the last few months haven't you?"
Hermione shook her head at the mocking way that Ginny had said 'business trip', knowing the woman didn't buy that she all of sudden she had to travel internationally every weekend. But despite how close to the wind she knew Narcissa and her had been flying recently she just couldn't say no to the woman's suggestions. Especially when she knew what would take place on those weekends away, it was just a shame that they never actually got to see the beautiful cities that they visited. The bedrooms were always fancy though. "What can I say? My job is very demanding at the moment and you know how I've always loved to please."
"Ok that's about as much as I can take of this conversation." Harry groused, his face paling at the suggestive direction the little chat had gone with a woman he thought of as his sister. He plucked James out of Hermione's arms and made a show of giving him a concerned look. "Come on James, let's go and find some more civilised company."
"Avoid Ron if you want civilised company." Ginny shouted after her quickly retreating husband. A beaming grin lighting up her face as she heard the disgruntled noise that Ron made around, a clearly too large, mouthful of food.
"Shut up Ginny." Ron shouted across the garden, clearly only just dragging his attention away from his plate of sandwiches long enough to notice that Hermione had arrived. "Oh. Hi Mione."
Hermione smiled warmly at the ginger man and the black haired woman that was perched on the arm of the garden chair he was sitting in. "Hi Ron, hi Fay."
"Ok greetings out of the way." Ginny snapped, dragging Hermione's full attention back to her. "Give me the first letter of their name."
Hermione smirked at Ginny in that way that she knew pissed the ginger off. "I haven't said hello to Draco and Astoria yet."
"They're fine; bought a huge manor, big wedding planned for summer, we're all invited, blah blah blah." Ginny reeled off as she glared at her laughing friend; she growled dramatically and threw her hands up in the air. "Tell me something…anything!"
"Maybe you should tell me some of your guesses." Hermione said sarcastically, she was prepared to play this game for a little while longer but it was safer if she let Ginny talk herself in circles without her input. The closer she and Narcissa got the less she trusted herself to not give something away. "I think it would be fun to hear who you've paired me up with."
Ginny narrowed her eyes at her for a moment before a huge smirk broke out on her face. "Narcissa."
"What?" Hermione yelped, her voice rising at least three octaves. Way to give it away Hermione.
"Hello ladies." Narcissa's soft voice washed over Hermione's frayed nerves like a soothing balm. The blonde subtly raised an eyebrow at her, asking wordlessly if the younger woman was ok. When the brunette smiled at her softly she cleared her throat and passed Hermione and then Ginny one of the three champagne flutes she had been holding. "I brought us some champagne; I thought it might make the screaming children easier to bear."
"Thank you. Your blouse is beautiful by the way Narcissa." Ginny commented as she took a sip of the fizz the blonde had just gifted her. "Is it designer?"
"Yes, Valentino." Narcissa answered as she ran a hand over the material a little self-consciously. "I bought it during a recent trip to Milan."
Ginny's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree as her head snapped towards her bushy haired friend. "Hermione, weren't you in Milan a few weeks ago?"
Hermione took a large gulp of her champagne; almost finishing half of the glass before schooling her features into, what she hoped was, a neutral mask. "Yes, I was."
"Were you there at the same time?" Ginny asked with the biggest grin spreading across her face as she watched Hermione stiffen. Oh she had found a loose thread, a little more picking and this whole thing would unravel.
"I…erm…well" Hermione stuttered, panicking as her mind went into desperate damage control mode. She knew that they were rumbled, that this was the little piece of information Ginny needed to solve the whole riddle and by the look on the woman's face she had done just that.
"Yes we were there at the same time." Narcissa spoke up answering Ginny's question in a cool and calm manner, sensing that Hermione had gone to all out panic stations. She rested her arm against the younger woman's to try and ground her a little. "We took the same portkey and went for a lovely meal at the most beautiful Italian restaurant."
"You didn't mention that Hermione." Ginny said, the false sweetness positively dripping from her words.
"You didn't ask." Hermione snapped, she could hear her heartbeat in her ears and she just wanted the ground to swallow her up.
"My apologies." Ginny laughed sarcastically, knowing it would rile her friend up. "Next time you have a business trip I'll ask if Narcissa joined you."
"Yes, where is your next trip taking you Hermione?" Narcissa chuckled, trying to ease the obvious friction that was increasing between the two old friends. She knew that asking Hermione to keep their relationship from the people that she loved the most was a tall order. She would need to rectify that soon, but for now helping her love out of this conversation would have to do. "I would love another break on the continent."
Hermione felt her impending panic attack calm when a warm hand slid on to the small of her back. She took a deep breath and let the tension flood from her body as she shared a long look with Narcissa. The blonde smiled at her in that way that always made her melt and winked at her subtly. She smiled too as she began to play along with the joke. "I'll be in Barcelona next weekend."
"Beautiful. I'll see you there." Narcissa crooned and clinked their glasses together as if they had just made an agreement. "Now if you'll excuse me I should really go and speak with my son. Have a lovely afternoon you two."
"Really?" Ginny squealed as soon as the blonde was out of ear shot, she grabbed hold of Hermione's shoulders and shook her excitedly. "Narcissa Black?"
Hermione let her gaze drift over to Narcissa where she stood chatting happily with Draco, the older woman glanced up and held her eye when she caught her stare. They shared a meaningful look in which Hermione hoped she could communicate what she needed, Narcissa smiled and nodded subtly before turning her attention back to her son. Hermione breathed a sigh of relief as she let herself succumb to the excited energy that was rolling off Ginny in waves. "You can't tell anyone Gin."
"Holy Slytherin." Ginny squeaked as she launched herself at Hermione and dragged her into a rough embrace. The ginger whipped her head around to look at the blonde and grinned as the woman's cheeks coloured a touch under her scrutiny. "I mean I don't blame you, she is looking fucking amazing in those jeans."
"Ginny." Hermione chastised, swatting her friend with the back of her hand but secretly loving that she finally got to share this with her. And that in typical Ginny style she had taken it all in stride, no question and no judgement.
"I bet she looks better out of them though doesn't she?" Ginny waggled her eyebrows suggestively as they both fell into raucous fits of laughter.
The rest of the afternoon went by in a blur of screaming five year olds, laughter and one too many glasses of champagne. Before they knew it, it was already dark out and all of Teddy's little friends had been taken home after far too much sugar and sun. Andromeda was inside her cottage trying to convince Teddy to take a bath and go to bed. Hermione, Ron and Harry were huddled together around one of the witch's bluebell flames, talking about something and nothing at all. And Narcissa, Draco, Astoria, Ginny and Fay sat chatting amiably on the other side of the garden while sharing the last few bottles of champagne.
The moon was full this evening and it shone brightly in the sky; Hermione felt jealous of the way it got to keep on staring at Narcissa. She just wanted to pull the woman into the nearest room, lock the door and turn out the night; she wanted her in the worst way. The moonlight danced through the blonde's hair giving her an almost ethereal glow, it did something magical to her beauty. As if Narcissa could sense eyes on her she looked towards Hermione and smiled like she had heard every thought that had just passed through the Gryffindor's mind. Then again she probably had, she always said Hermione's thoughts were exceptionally loud when she was excited. Sapphire eyes held warm amber for a long moment until Narcissa subtly inclined her head towards the cottage. The blonde smiled; excusing herself from her company she got up gracefully and began making her way slowly up the garden path. Hermione felt that excitement that the older woman always incited in her bubble up in her stomach. She had to fight with every impulse not to jump up like a puppy and scamper after Narcissa. She took a deep breath to try to calm herself a little before turning her attention back to the boys. Her knee began to bounce up and down a little as she looked for her opening to free herself from this conversation and get inside that cottage. Finally a natural lull occurred and Hermione sprang from her seat, a goofy smile spreading across her face. "I'm going inside to see if I can find another drink, do either of you want anything?"
"No I better not, Ginny looks fairly wobbly." Harry chuckled lightly as he watched his wife roughly sling an arm around Fay and pull the woman into a side hug. "One of us needs to be able to apparate and put James to bed."
Ron thrust his empty Butterbeer bottle towards Hermione with a grin, wiping the bit of froth that had dribbled down his chin when he had hastily downed the dregs of his drink. "I'll have another Butterbeer if there is one."
"Great." Hermione chirped, not having the inclination to even roll her eyes at Ron's expectation that she would dispose of his bottle for him without question. Usually she would outright refuse to take it out of principle but she couldn't afford to waste any time on an argument right now. She had more important things to attend to. "I'll be back soon."
Hermione trotted up to the cottage as quickly as she could without it looking obvious that she was rushing, she hurried into the kitchen and ditched Ron's Butterbeer bottle in the bin. She scanned the living room and frowned when she didn't see Narcissa there, surely she wouldn't be bold enough to have snuck upstairs with Andromeda up there. She cautiously stepped into the hall and peered up the stairs, planning how she could creep up and locate the blonde when the door to the cupboard under the stairs swung open to reveal a grinning Narcissa.
"What took you so long?" The blonde purred as she reached out and grabbed Hermione by the front of her blazer and pulled her into the cupboard. She slammed the door shut and pushed the younger woman up against it. Her eyes raked appreciatively over the younger woman's form in the blue haze of her Lumos lit wand tip. Narcissa knew deep down that they needed to tell their loved ones about their relationship soon but these clandestine meetings were just so very exciting. She loved the thrill that filled them both when they got to hide away in the dark. She leant her body close to Hermione's and smirked when she felt the witch slip one hand in her back pocket and pull her more firmly against her. She let her fingers slip into Hermione's casual up do, the one she always wore for work, and twisted her wrist to break the locks free from the pins that had been holding it. It always did something to her when Hermione let her long hair fall about her shoulders, when it flowed across the pillow as she lay beneath her or when it tickled her chest as they kissed.
"Narcissa, I am never going to get my hair to behave again." Hermione tried to sound irritated but it came out much breathier than intended. Having Narcissa's body close always made her feel this way, as if she was about to have a heart attack but like she could run a marathon all at once.
"I like it wild." Narcissa whispered as she ran the tip of her nose up the column of Hermione neck and pressed a lingering kiss behind her ear.
Hermione took a deep breath that turned into a gasp when Narcissa's teeth nipped her ear lobe. She put her free hand on the older woman's shoulder and pushed her away a little so that she could fix her with a disapproving look. "Well you can come up with the excuse for why I went into the house looking put together and come out looking like I've been pulled through a hedge backwards."
"Hmmm…perhaps I'll just tell them that I had my way with you." Narcissa replied, a cocky smirk slipping onto her lips as she leant back in and pressed a trail of wet kisses along Hermione's jaw. "They'll all know soon anyway."
"Ginny won't tell anyone about us." Hermione husked as she tipped her head to the side to allow Narcissa and her salacious lips better access to her skin.
"I know she won't." Narcissa sighed, she abandoned her exploration of the younger woman's flesh and pressed their foreheads together. She held Hermione's amber eyes for a beat as she gathered her courage before she spoke. "But I think it is well past time that people found out about us."
"Really?" Hermione asked, a bright smile breaking out across her face, her stomach flipping as Narcissa mirrored her expression with the same excitement.
"Yes." The older woman chuckled, she reached up to cup Hermione's cheek delicately and let her thumb trace the shape of her bottom lip. "Right now though, I want you all to myself."
Hermione tilted her face so that their mouths were millimetres apart, she could feel the anticipation rolling off Narcissa in waves. She grabbed the older woman's wrist and moved her hand away from her face, she didn't want anything between them when she leaned in for a kiss. "It might be selfish but I think I like the sound of that."
Narcissa didn't wait another second to close the miniscule distance between their lips, she slipped her hand on to Hermione's waist and forced her more firmly against the door behind her. The younger woman gasped but her lips responded instantly, moving with hers with the same eagerness as they always did. She knew from the second that Hermione had walked out into the garden that afternoon wearing that suit that their evening would end this way. The way that most of their encounters ended; with their bodies doing the talking and the shadows of them coming together painting the wall. Narcissa ran the tip of her tongue along Hermione's bottom lip and chuckled low in her throat when she was granted access instantly. She felt her hand come up to pinch her hip none too gently, a sure chastisement for her smug response.
Hermione mentally rolled her eyes at Narcissa's cocky response to their intimacy but by now she wasn't surprised by it, it didn't mean she had to tolerate it though. She smirked a little before capturing the older woman's lip between her teeth and biting down on it harshly inciting a mixture of a gasp and a moan. She took advantage of Narcissa's pause to take control of the kiss, slowing the pace so that she could enjoy the scent of her skin and the taste of her tongue. Hermione fumbled with the silken material at the blonde's hip, pulling it from where it was neatly tucked into her jeans so that her fingers could make contact with soft skin. The older woman squirmed a little at the ticklish spot she had found and it caused their chests to press together in the most delicious way.
Narcissa circled Hermione's waist with one arm and slipped her other hand back into her bushy hair, it always felt wonderful to have the younger woman here in her arms. It felt even more exquisite to have their bodies pinned against each other and their lips moving together so sensually. Hermione sighed into her mouth and her mind slipped to the previous night as she had hovered above the younger woman as her fingers had brought her to completion. She pressed their mouths together more firmly and stepped even closer as she attempted to surround herself in Hermione. She could spend every day like this, alone with this woman.
The door that Hermione had been happily pushed up against all of a sudden disappeared, her lips were ripped away from Narcissa's and she found herself stumbling backwards. Her shriek died in her throat when she was steadied by a firm body and an arm around her waist. She whipped her head around to find herself being held by Andromeda who was sporting a thunderous expression.
"For fucks sake. Out!" Andromeda demanded, as she helped Hermione right herself while simultaneously dragging her sister out of the cupboard by the arm. "I keep my expensive coats in there and I will not have you two ruining them."
Hermione fixed the older brunette woman with the most apologetic look she could muster. "Oh God, I'm so sorry Andie."
A smile began to creep onto Andromeda's face until Narcissa let out an impatient sigh and her head swung towards her sister. They shared a glare as the blonde hastily re-tucked her blouse into her jeans and they challenged each other silently in that way that only siblings can. "Don't give me that look Narcissa. There is a perfectly good spare bedroom upstairs that you could have used. Instead you chose groping each other in a cupboard like a pair of school girls."
"This could not be more humiliating." Hermione half sobbed as she dropped her face into her hands; she could feel the burn of her blush of embarrassment seeping into her palms.
"You could have been naked." Andromeda mocked as a smile tugged at the corner of her mouth. She reached out to try and comb her fingers through Hermione's hair only to get them hopelessly tangled in her bushy locks. "Your hair is… unsalvageable by the way."
"Yes we have your sister to thank for that." Hermione grumbled as she rooted around in the matted mess to try and retrieve the pins she had used to secure her hairstyle that morning.
"Unlike Hermione I am not sorry at all." Narcissa said smoothly, a satisfied smirk slipping onto her lips.
Andie snorted and rolled her eyes at her sister's usual attitude. "You wouldn't be."
"Narcissa!" Hermione yelped.
"I have resisted you in the suit all day." Narcissa defended unashamedly as she stepped closer to Hermione and gently tucked a curl behind the younger woman's ear and began to invade her personal space. "I will not apologise for being human."
"Oh Christ." Andromeda called out exasperatedly as she watched her sister advance on Hermione. "Why don't you two floo home and carry on with…this? I'll make your excuses with the others."
"Thank you Dromeda." Narcissa replied, a genuine smile slipping onto her face as she looked at her sister, who had just given their relationship her approval. She knew how much Andie loved Hermione so it meant a lot that she trusted her with the younger woman's heart. She pulled the woman into a tight embrace, kissing her cheek softly before stepping back over to Hermione. She placed her hand on the small of the younger woman's back and began to lead her into the living room and towards the fireplace. "Come on darling, let us take our leave."
Hermione leant in close to Narcissa and spoke softly into her ear. "Are we just going to ignore the fact that Andromeda just found us together and only cared about her coats?"
"I have known about you for months now love." Andie answered as she leant against the living room door frame, she laughed when Hermione shot Narcissa a suspicious look. "Cissy didn't tell me, I've noticed the way the two of you look at each other. You haven't been half as subtle as you thought you were."
