A/N: I know you're guys wondering 'Why isn't he updating SoTH yet?' or 'Why update Partners Forever now?' To answer your question, I just entered High School after the Opening Ceremony, and the reason I update Partners Forever is that I'm still writing the next SoTH chapter. While waiting for that, you guys read this Pokémon Story and I'll continue writing.
And sorry if this chapter is short, I haven't come up with the idea to make it longer. But this is good enough for reading (in my opinion).

Kanto, Vermillion City
12.01 PM
After Ash and the others put to a stopped at Squirtle Squad, they arrived at Vermillion City. "So this is where the gym is, huh?" Brock looked at his guide, "According to this. The Gym Leader specializes in Electric Types."
Ash's Pikachu hears this, "Not only that, not many people managed to beat the Gym Leader." Ash smiled at the challenge, "That's all?" "Yea, but you have to be careful with your Pokémon. Some Pokémon got injuries after the fight." Ash looked at Pikachu and his Pokéballs.
Togepi was scared of what chances if he were to battle, "Don't worry, you aren't gonna battle." Misty hugs Togepi for his safety, "Let's go then." Ash and Pikachu quickly run to the gym, "Wait up, Ash!" Misty and Brock run behind them.
Vermillion City
12.06 PM
When they arrived, Ash looked around for the gym. As Pikachu and Ash continued running, they heard Misty call them, "Ash, Pikachu, wait up!" They stopped and saw Misty and Brock, tired from catching up with them.
"C-Could you have waited for us before running off?" Misty asked while Brock breathed from the running.
Ash scratched his hair and smiled, "Sorry, every time a gym is there, I want to challenge it immediately." "We know, Pokémon Master," Misty said sarcastically. "You're going to the Vermillion Gym, young boy?"
They turned to the voice and saw a middle age man with a cane talking to him, "Yeah, I'm here for the gym battle." "Well, the gym is right over there." He pointed in the direction of the gym. "Be careful of your Pokémon. I saw injuries from that gym, and it was serious." The man said, "I'll try to be careful." He smiled before continuing his walk.
"Let's go, guys!" Ash said to Misty and Brock, "Right/Of course." They went in the direction that the man told.
Vermillion City, Vermillion Gym
12.06 PM
Ash and the others saw the gym, "Ready, Pikachu?" "Pika!" Pikachu gave Ash a high five, "Wait, shouldn't you come up with-?" But Ash and Pikachu already went in. "I don't think they think of a plan first." "Yeah." Brock and Misty sweatdropped by Ash's personality.
Inside they saw someone already battling, "Is that all you got?" Ash watches the battle at the trainer's Pikachu against one Pokémon he has seen, "Not yet, Sparky doesn't give up." "Pika." The gym leader and the Pokémon smiled.
The Pokémon is similar to Pikachu but taller and has dark orange fur. On its back are two horizontal brown stripes. Its long, thin tail has a lightning bolt-shaped end. "You're good, kid. But this is where you stop. Use Take Down!"
His Pokémon charged in and smacked it to the ground. The referee walked to see Sparky and found it unconscious, "Sparky knocked out! The Winner is Raichu!" He announced the winner, "Raichu!"
Ash took out his Pokédex and scanned Raichu, "Raichu, the mouse Pokémon and the evolve form of Pikachu." Pokédex said, "When electricity builds up inside its body, it becomes feisty. It also glows in the dark."
The trainer looked at his Pikachu, "Sparky, you have done a good job." "Pikachu." He carries his Pikachu, "Time for you to head to the Pokémon Center." He looked at the Gym Leader, "Thank you for your battle." He runs past Ash and the gang, not knowing they're there. "So I'm guessing one of you here for a Gym Battle?" They saw the Gym Leader look at them, then Ash and Pikachu walked forward, "Yeah/Pika." They responded in a union.
"What's your name, son?" Lt. Surge asked, "Ash Ketchum." The referee nodded. Ash and Pikachu went serious for this battle, "The battle between Challenger Ash and Lt. Surge will be in 3 on 3, now let the begin!" The referee begins the match.
Ash vs. Lt. Surge
"Magnimite, go!" Surge takes out his first Pokémon, "Then, Pidgeotto, I choose you!" Ash took out his Pidgeotto, "What is the kid doing? Does he know he's going lose?" Misty and Brock smiled at this.
Surge smiled at this battle, "This should be easy. Use Thunderbolt." Magnemtie shoots its Thunderbolt at Pidgeotto, "Dodge and use Wing Attack." Pidgeotto dodges the Thunderbolt and hits Magnemite with his Wing Attack.
Magnemite looked at Pidgeotto, "Use Electro Ball." "Air Slash." Both attacks clash, creating an explosion. "Now, use Wing Attack full force." "I don't think so, Thunderbolt." Pidgeotto flies full speed at Magnemite and uses her Wing Attack.
Magnemite hits Pidgeotto with his Thunderbolt, but she still moves forward and hits it with her Wing Attack, "Now, Quick Attack." Pidgeotto headbutts Magnemite to the ground, "Magnemite!"
The smoke clears, revealing Magnemite knocked out, "Magnemite knocked out! The winner is Pidgeotto!"
"Well done, Pidgeotto." Pidgeotto glided down and nodded at Ash. Surge returns Magnemite to his Pokéball, "Rest up, Magnemite." He looked at Ash, "Good job, kid, but let's see how well against this."
Surge sent out his next Pokémon. He noticed the Pokémon like a Pokéball, "What is that?" Ash took out his Pokédex and scanned it, "Voltorb, the Ball Pokémon." Pokédex said, "It is said to camouflage itself as a Poké Ball. It will self-destruct with a little stimulus." Ash put back his Pokédex.
"Do you want to continue?" Pidgeotto nodded, "All right, go!" Pigdeotto flies to the battlefield, "Take this! Thunder Shock." Voltorb shoots Thunder Shock, but Pidgeotto glides away, "Wing Attack!" Pidgeotto's wing glows and hits Voltorb, "Quick Attack." Surge smiled at this, "Sonic Boom." "What?" Voltorb shoots a terrible sound at Pidgeotto that hurts her ears, "Pidgeotto!"
Pidgeotto tries to focus, but her vision is blurry, "Now, Thunder Shock." "Dodge it!" But Pidgeotto couldn't dodge it and was hit by the Thunder Shock. After getting hit, she got up with her foot, "Pidgeotto, you okay?" Pidgeotto nodded, "Good, Quick Attack."
Pidgeotto charges at Voltorb at full speed, knocking him away, "Swift!" Voltorb shoots Swift at Pidgeotto, damaging her body, "Now Finish it off with Thunder Shock!" "Pidgeotto, look out!" Voltorb hit Pidgeotto to the ground, knocking her out. "Pidgeotto's knocked out! The winner is Voltorb!"
Ash took out Pidgeotto's Pokéball, "You've done a good job. Go get some rest." Ash returns Pidgeotto to her Pokéball, "What's Ash gonna use?" Misty asked, "I'm not sure. But we're going to find out."
Ash took a Pokéball from his belt, "Bulbasaur, go!" Ash sent out his Bulbasaur, "Ready?" Bulbasaur nodded, "You may have the advantage, but I won't lose. Use Swift." Voltorb shoots Swift at Bulbasaur, "Use, Vine Whip at the Swift." Bulbasaur blocked the Swift with Vine Whip, "Now, Razor Leaf."
Bulbasaur shoots Razor Leaf at Voltorb, "Thun-" He got interrupted by Ash, "Vine Whip!" Bulbasaur caught Voltorb, "Now, throw him to the ground!" "What?!" Bulbasaur uses his Vines to throw Voltorb to the ground, "Voltorb!"
The referee looked at Voltorb to see it knocked out, "Voltorb's knocked out. The winner is Bulbasaur!"
"Well done, Bulbasaur." "Saur." Bulbasaur gives a high five to Ash, "Good job, Voltorb." Surge returns Voltorb to its Pokéball.
"I got to hand to you, kid. You're impressive." Ash smiled at the compliment, "Does Lt. Surge always like this?" "This is the first time that kid managed to trouble him." Surge smiled at this battle, "But this is my powerful partner. Raichu, go!"
Lt. Surge sent out his final Pokémon, "Rai!" Ash looked at Bulbasaur, "Bulbasaur, return. I'll call you when needed." Bulbasaur nodded and went back into his Pokéball.
"Pikachu, ready?" "Pika!" Pikachu went to the battlefield for the Gym Battle, "So, you picked your mouse." Lt. Surge smiled, "This should be easy." Raichu smiled heavily at his victory, "Thunderbolt!" Pikachu charges his Thunderbolt, "Show them our Thunderbolt."
Raichu charges his own Thunderbolt, and their attacks cause a clash, "Pika!" "Rai!" Raichu's Thunderbolt overpowered Pikachu's Thunderbolt. Pikachu got pushed back by the Thunderbolt, "Pikachu, you're all right?" Pikachu stands up and nods, "All right, use Quick Attack."
Pikachu runs at full speed at Raichu, "Raichu, Body Slam." "Pikachu, jump!" Pikachu barely dodges Raichu's Body Slam, "Iron Tail, full force." "Pika!" Pikachu uses his Iron Tail full force at Raichu and pushes Raichu away. "Volt Tackle!" "Look out!" Raichu tackled Pikachu with his Volt Tackle and sent him to the edge of the battlefield. Ash notices Pikachu's Tail leaves a trail after being pushed.
"We now know who won this." Surge's companions agreed, "I don't think so." "Agreed." "Toge." Brock, Misty, and Togepi know Ash doesn't give up on his battle.
"Pika!" Pikachu stood up and slowly headed back to the battlefield, "So you're still standing?" "Pika!" Surge smiled at the win, "Volt Tackle!"
Raichu runs at full speed at Pikachu, "Pikachu, Iron Tail to the ground!" "What?!" Pikachu jumped and plowed his Iron Tail to the ground, Raichu tried to push Pikachu back, but he slowed down.
Ash saw the opportunity and used it, "Iron Tail at Raichu!" Pikachu flipped his Iron Tail at Raichu, "Now, Electro Ball!" Pikachu charges his Electro Ball and shoots it at Raichu, pushing him away.
"Raichu!" The referee looked closer at Raichu and saw him knocked out, "Raichu has fainted!" Lt. Surge and his companion are shocked by this, "And the winner is Pikachu!" Pikachu and Ash are happy about the victory, "Then that means Ash is the winner!"
Winner: Ash
"Well done, Ash." Ash and Pikachu saw Misty and Brock behind them, "Guys!" Surge saw Ash and his friends were happy about the win, "You've done a good job, partner." "Rai." Raichu stands up after the push.
"Ash." Ash and the others saw Lt. Surge and Raichu looking at them, "Tell me, how did your Pokémon become stronger?" Ash looked at Pikachu, "Because of our bond. When we trust each other, we can reach something that one person couldn't."
Surge and Raichu like the response, "I see." He took something out of his pocket, "Ash, may I present to you the Thunder Badge." He gave the badge to Ash, "Thank you!" "Yeah." Raichu gave Pikachu a high five for Pikachu's victory.
"Also, I like you to have this." He pulls out a ticket, "What's this?" Brock and Misty recognized it. "Isn't that the ticket to St. Anne?!" He nodded, "Ash, I like you to have it." "Why? You could have headed there instead." Surge looked away from the question, "I... can't tell you that. Take it, please."
Ash looked at Brock and Misty, and they nodded. "All right, I'll take it." He smiled, "Thank you." Ash took the ticket from Surge's hand.
Vermillion City, Pokémon Center
12.18 PM
As they headed to the Pokémon Center, Ash looked at the ticket, "I don't get it. Why did Surge act like that?" "Same. It's as if he felt guilty about something." Misty said. "Maybe he felt traumatic experience on St. Anne?" Brock asked, "He could have told us about it." Ash put the ticket in his pocket, "Maybe we'll know about it later."
Ash and the others went to the Pokémon Center for Ash's Pokémon recovery. They bumped into the trainer they saw, "Sorry. I didn't mean to bump into you."
"Don't worry about it, so how's your Pikachu?" He is surprised that Ash knows about Sparky, "Did you watch the battle?" "Yea." "Then did you-?" Ash smiled and showed the Thunder Badge, "Wow, I wish I have watched that battle."
"The name's Ritchie." Ritchie offers a handshake, "My name's Ash, and this is my partner, Pikachu. Nice to meet you." Ash accepted it, "Then my name's Brock." "My name's Misty, and this is Togepi." "Togepi." Ritchie smiled that Ash had friends, "Nice to meet you too."
After Pikachu's, Bulbasaur's, and Pidgeotto's recovery, there at the cafeteria having a conversation, "Wow, I didn't know you had three starters, Ash." Ash was eating his meal, "Ye-ughah." "Ash. When you're saying something, stop eating the food." Ash gulped the food and looked at Misty, "I couldn't help it. It's delicious."
Ritchie and Brock chuckled at Ash and Misty, "So, Ritchie, how many badges did you have earned?" Ritchie showed the badges, "I got 2." Ritchie has Rainbow Badge and Cascade Badge.
Misty grumbled at the Cascade Badge, 'Sisters, you better give that badge after a Gym Battle.' Ash showed his badges, "I have 4." "No way, you already have that many." Ash nodded.
Ritchie looked at Charizard, "You didn't use your Charizard every Gym Battle, didn't you?" "No, of course not." Charizard finished his spicy lunch and burped out the flame. Ritchie turns his attention to Ash, "So Ash, have you heard St. Anne?" "Yeah. I have my ticket here."
Ash showed his ticket, "Wow, how did you get that?" "Lt. Surge gave it to me as a gift." Ritchie smiled at this, "I heard that St. Anne is coming here tomorrow." Brock and Misty get the attention, "There's an event of battling other trainers from other regions."
Ash got surprised when drinking his milk. He gulped it before talking, "Then I'll join." "All right, the ship will arrive tomorrow morning, so be ready." Ash gave a thumbs up to Ritchie.
"But there's one problem." Brock remembers a problem, "Shouldn't you need tickets to get on S.S. Anne?" Ritchie smiled. "Don't worry. I have two tickets with me." Ritchie showed them two tickets, "So, who wants to join?" "I'll pass." Brock raised his hand, "I think Ash and Misty should go with you after all their battling is over the top."
Ash and Misty looked at Brock, "You aren't gonna propose to any woman, are you?" Brock was sweating at Misty's glare, "N-No, of course not." Ritchie was confused about what Misty meant by that. Ash whispers to Ritchie about Brock's problem, "He always proposes to any woman he sees." Ritchie nodded for understanding while Misty glared at Brock in the background.
