A/N: Hey everyone! I didn't even realize it, but just recently I've passed over one year of being a writer on FF, so that's exciting! For all of those who've supported me over this past year, thank you so much! Your support and kind reviews is a big motivation factor to continue being active on the site! :D

I've been reading the few WonderBat high school fanfics that have been released over the years, and I've enjoyed them so much I decided to give it a go myself! It's my first time writing DC-related material in *this* context, and honestly it seems like something more out of a Disney movie than irl lol :p. Lots of fluff and embarrassing moments between our two favorites!

Without further ado, here's a fun little AU high school oneshot! I hope you all enjoy! :)

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Justice League or DC Comics characters and/or material. Trust me, if I did, Wonderbat would've been a thing much sooner.

Summary: In their senior year of high school, Bruce and Diana both struggle to confront the unfamiliar feelings that they have developed for each other. Who will take charge and finally break the tension between them?

Secret Crushes (High School AU):

Diana Prince walked down the wide hallway in her usual confident stride, occasionally giving a small smile and wave to those who greeted her on passing. She currently had a long free period at the moment—a specific freedom given to only senior class members at Gotham High—so Diana decided to stop by the lunchroom and see if there was anything that interested her.

She felt the gazes of many students upon her, however Diana paid no attention to them as she had quickly become used to the glances "discreetly" given to her over the course of her two years at Gotham High. Although she had spent two years in Gotham, the idea of a coeducational school still had not fully settled within her. It did not bother her much, but there were still some days that she missed the female-only preparatory school that she attended back on Themyscira, her home island off the coast of Greece with an all-female population of only twenty thousand.

However, there were certainly some things that she appreciated in her new scenery, mainly a special someone in particular, a secret crush that she had revealed to only a handful of trustworthy people.

Scanning the many faces of the boys and girls that passed her, a flurry of activity in the hallways with students of all different grades, she wanted to see if he was around somewhere, knowing that they shared a free period together. In fact, they shared over half of their classes together this year, and it led to a strengthening relationship between two of the school's most popular members: The beautiful Diana Prince and the handsome Bruce Wayne.

"Handsome" was a word that Diana never really used before in her vocabulary, but truthfully she did not think it even provided justice to the specimen that was Bruce Wayne. No, if Diana had to choose one word to describe his looks, the first word that came to mind was: gorgeous

He was an impossible mix of rough yet soft, as if the coarsest sandpaper and the finest silk came together to create the perfection that was Wayne. His hair was always in a neat but unkempt look, black strands similar to her own hair color that Diana wanted to run her hands through. His face seemed to be chiseled from stone, his jawline being unbelievably cut forming a strong structure that mirrored the toned body his clothing could barely conceal. On the contrary, his lips seemed as soft as a plush cushion, lips that Diana had embarrassingly imagined on hers one too many times. And his eyes… don't even get her started about Wayne's eyes! The deepest blue she had ever seen in her life, feeling as if she were swimming in the middle of the ocean whenever he looked upon her with those gorgeous sapphires. Every time their eyes met, he looked at her in a way no one else had, as if she were the most precious treasure within the world. It never failed to make her heart flutter.

However, Bruce was so much more than his looks. He was intelligent, athletic, and charismatic. He was the only one that was able to keep in pace with her, something so few have ever been able to do.

Deftly side-stepping an oncoming student who was too engrossed in their phone to see where they were going, Diana chastised herself for daydreaming about Wayne again. She was inexperienced in the realm of desiring a man—especially from being surrounded by girls for the majority of her life—but Bruce quickly caught her eye, and somehow worked his way into her feelings as well.

Being attracted to Wayne was something she was not ashamed of admitting, mainly due to the fact that anyone of the female gender (and some of the male, Diana assumed from the looks Bruce received) desired him. She had seen the looks he received when she walked with him, how girls would look at him in an lascivious way, desire clearly written on their faces. Some would even go as far to give her a warning glare whenever she walked with him, a sight that always made Diana roll her eyes. However, it was clear that almost everyone wanted him, and she would admit for a good reason.

He was the entire package: extremely good-looking, tremendously wealthy (though that didn't matter much to Diana), captain of the varsity wrestling team (and national champion for two years in a row), a member of clubs, in the top ten of his grade for academics, and he was a sweet-talker. Diana was certain the only reason anyone even attended the wrestling matches at her school was to see Bruce in a skintight uniform that showcased all of his… assets.

Deciding to stop at her locker to drop off some books, Diana thought about her time at Gotham High. She was the captain on her school's extremely successful female varsity track team, a part of various clubs such as the Academic Decathlon and student council (both of which Bruce was a member of but he scarcely attended except for the important events), and she was also a part of the top ten students in her grades for academics. She recognized the similarities between her and Bruce, how easily they could incorporate into each other's lives. The true question however, that Diana always asked herself in private, was if he recognized it as well.

Sliding her backpack off her shoulders, Diana had just placed it on the ground when a finger tapped her shoulder. Turning to look at who wanted her attention, a small smile came to Diana's face when she saw two of her best friends, Shayera Hol and Zatanna Zatara, looking at her expectantly.

"Hey, Di," Shayera greeted. "Z and I wanted to know if you're gonna grab lunch soon."

"I'm actually heading over to the cafeteria after I finish putting away all of these books," Diana answered before turning her attention back to her backpack and swapping out some of her more cumbersome textbooks.

"Great! Shay and I will save you a spot at our usual," Zatanna replied. "Dinah said she also wants to meet up with us."

That caused Diana to turn her attention to the black-haired girl. "Really? I thought she was still hanging all over Oliver?" By Oliver, she meant Oliver Queen, member of the school's club archery team, but most people only know him for being extravagant in showing off his wealth. He was certainly a nice guy to his close friends, but Diana really didn't understand what Dinah saw in him.

Zatanna shrugged her shoulders in response. "Not sure, that's just what she told me."

A knowing grin formed on Shayera's face. "She probably wants to find out what's going on between Di and Wayne."

A blush quickly formed on Diana's cheeks, however she kept her gaze at her locker instead of the amused glances of her friends. Shayera and Zatanna were the only two people Diana had ever told about her crush, but somehow Dinah also found out as well. Luckily for Diana, none of them had ever spilled the secret to anyone else, at least to her knowledge.

"Well, she'll probably just find out that we're still just good friends," Diana responded, collecting her backpack and putting a hand on her locker to shut it. She turned to her friends so they understood the truth of her words, despite how much she wishes they weren't. "Nothing of value has happened between us."

As Diana shut her locker, a new voice spoke up from behind her, one that caused the varsity captain to become rooted in her spot. "Someone catch your eye, Princess?"

Diana's eyes went wide, instantly recognizing the deep baritone voice spoken behind her. He was the only one who called her "Princess", a nickname he started calling her after she had mentioned one day after school that her family was technically royalty back on Themyscira. Her nervous gaze fell to her friends, who were trying their best to both hide their amusement at her situation and keep their appreciative gazes from lingering on their new arrival.

Taking a deep breath to settle the flutter in her stomach, Diana turned around to find Bruce much closer to her than she expected. They were only a locker's distance apart, and he was casually leaning against the long row of lockers as he looked upon her. For a moment, Diana's voice was caught in her throat, her eyes locked onto his sapphire orbs filled with amusement and something else she couldn't identify.

Gathering her thoughts after a moment of silence, Diana smiled at Bruce before saying, "Bruce! I thought you'd be in the cafeteria already." Diana commented.

Wayne gave her a dazzling smirk, one that would've made Diana sigh in contentment if she was not so focused on keeping her actions in check. "I stopped by there for a moment, but I noticed you weren't there so I decided to come look for you."

At that, Diana had no way to respond, her blush that she had just gotten rid of returning to her face. 'If only my mother could see me now,' Diana thought in her head. Her mother did not know about her crush on Bruce, and for good reason. She was not the most accepting of the male gender.

Luckily for Diana, Bruce decided to look past her shoulder and address the two women behind her. "Shayera, Zanna," he greeted with a nod and a smile. The two ladies gave small greetings in return.

Diana slightly bristled at Zatanna's nickname, even knowing that there was nothing going on between Zatanna and Bruce. They had both grown up together, with Zatanna's father occasionally watching Bruce shortly after he had lost his parents. They had a close friendship, but Zatanna had assured Diana that she wasn't going to make a move on Bruce, claiming that Bruce was like a brother to her much to Diana's relief.

Bruce turned his attention back to Diana. "Anyway, like I said I was actually just looking for you," he noted.

Diana's heart picked up slightly. "Me? Why?" She asked, before mentally facepalming herself for the simple response.

Bruce seemed to get nervous, his eyes briefly meeting her own before moving onto something else. "Well, I was just wondering—because you and I have the same long period free—if you wanted to have lunch with me?" Bruce asked, uncharacteristically nervous.

The two women behind Diana looked on hopefully, finally happy that one of them was taking the chance after dancing around each other for so long.

Diana, shocked at his request, blurted the first thing that came to her mind. "I, um, I can't right now. I promised to meet Dinah in the lunchroom today," she replied.

Diana noticed how Bruce's eyes flickered with disappointment, but before she could take back her statement he was already speaking. "It's fine. I think Kent wanted to talk to me about something anyway," he said with a smile that was obviously fake.

Both Zatanna and Shayera's shoulders dropped, wondering how long they would continue to deny themselves to each other.

Trying to make a remedy of the situation, Shayera intervened. "It's okay, Di, why don't you have lunch with Bruce. I'm sure Dinah won't mind," she encouraged with a smile.

However, Bruce spoke first once again, raising his hands in a small protest. "No, no, seriously it's okay. Anyway, I have to get going now." He turned to Diana to address her once more. "I'll see you later in physics, Princess."

Diana tucked a curl of hair behind her ear, trying to hide her disappointment. "Yeah, okay. See you later."

The three girls watched as Bruce turned and walked down the hall, seemingly unaware of where he wanted to go. Before long, they lost sight of him in the mass of people moving within the halls.

Diana turned and lightly banged her head against the locker. "I blew it, didn't I?" She questioned, her voice muffled due to her long raven hair surrounding her face.

Shayera was the first to speak, wrapping an arm around Diana's shoulders. "Diana, I mean this in the nicest way possible, but what the hell were you doing girl?"

Diana lifted her head from the locker and backed away to look at the redhead. "I don't know, okay!" she responded, removing Shayera's arm and starting to pace back and forth in front of the locker. "I just got nervous when he asked me to lunch, and I didn't know how to respond."

A thought came to Diana, one that stopped her in her tracks. She turned and looked hesitantly at her two friends. "What if he takes this as a sign that I don't like him," she fearfully thought out loud, the thought of Bruce moving on from her because of her actions causing turmoil inside of her.

Zatanna stopped Diana from her movements. "Diana, listen to me. You and Bruce are extremely good friends. You've even said it yourself that he's probably your best guy-friend. But besides that, I know Bruce. I've seen the way he looks at you. That guy is head-over-heels for you."

Diana's heart picked up in hearing her friend's observations, hope being restored to her soul. "You really think so?" the usually-proud woman quietly asked

Zatanna gave a small smile. "You can never know 100 percent unless you confirm it yourself, but don't give up on yourself just yet, Di."

Diana gave a smile, but truthfully she was unsure of her friend's comforting words. Bruce was the only person she had ever had feelings for, and she hoped that she hadn't ruined her chance.

Clark Kent watched as his best friend poked at his garden salad from across the table, a distraught expression on his face.

He pushed away his own lunch before leaning towards Bruce. "Y'know, I've seen you in moods before," Clark jokingly commented, before getting serious, "but this one seems…different."

Bruce glanced up at Clark, not wanting to discuss what has him in what Kent calls a "mood". Truthfully, he just wanted to take time to think about it himself, but Bruce thought that maybe Clark's insight could help solve his distraught feelings.

After a moment of silence, Bruce revealed, "I asked Diana to have lunch with me."

Clark's face lit up, which promptly made Bruce roll his eyes. Besides Zatanna, Clark was the biggest supporter in him and Diana progressing their relationship.

He had met Clark back in elementary school, and despite being seemingly opposites—Bruce was very secluded during that part of his schooling since it had only been a few short years since his parents were taken from him—they found a common kinship within each other. They both excelled in sports, with Clark playing tight end and being a captain on Gotham High's football team. Also, although not as high in the class rankings as Bruce and Diana were, Clark still held his own and was amongst the top in the school. He was even a part of the Academic Decathlon with Bruce and Diana, and their three-person squad that won the competition was rightly named "The Trinity". However, Clark's main passion seemed to be writing for the school paper, which he gladly enjoyed doing alongside his girlfriend Lois Lane.

Releasing a small sigh, Bruce continued. "Well, she said no."

Clark's eyebrows shot up in shock. "She said no to you?!" he astonishingly asked.

Bruce fidgeted with his salad for a small moment, his gaze facing the cafeteria's table. "Well… not exactly." Looking up, he noticed that Clark was looking at him expectantly, urging him to continue. "She said that she had lunch plans with Dinah already."

Clark stared at his friend incredulously. "Let me get this straight," the junior reporter began, "you're in a sour mood because you asked Diana to have lunch with you—something you guys have done before many times—and she said she couldn't, not that she didn't want to, but couldn't because she already had plans with another friend."

Bruce rolled his eyes in exasperation. "Well when you put it that way, Kent…"

Clark pinched the bridge of his nose. "Bruce, you and Diana have been good friends for like, what? A year and a half now? It's obvious to anyone who knows you guys that you both want something more than friendship…," Clark said, before pausing and looking at Bruce, "unless I'm wrong?"

Bruce gave a glare at Clark. "You know the answer to that," Bruce quipped back.

Clark shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe, but I'd like to hear you say it," Clark said with a grin.

Bruce sighed, before looking up to his longtime friend. "Clark, I've only known her for a short amount of time, but God… she means everything to me," Bruce began in a quiet tone. "Not a day goes by where I don't think of her, what we could be together if I just told her the truth."

Clark, who was surprised at the amount of emotion Bruce was revealed, cautiously urged his friend to continue. "The truth about what?" he asked.

"The truth that I… love her," Bruce quietly revealed, his gaze back to his salad. Hearing no response from Clark, Bruce looked up to see his friend's mouth wide open in shock.

It only lasted for a moment, however, as a large smile formed on Clark's face. "Yes!" the football player said, doing a mini celebration through a fist pump, "I knew it."

Bruce gave a small smile at Clark. "How did you work up the courage to ask Lois out?" Bruce questioned.

Clark blushed slightly. "Well… she actually asked me out." When all he received was a raised eyebrow, Clark continued, "Back during our sophomore year, one day while working on an article, she pretty much cornered me and told me that I was going to take her bowling. She gave a time and a place, and well here we are," he finished with a goofy grin on his face.

Bruce chuckled slightly, knowing that was on par with the fiery Lois Lane. If she wanted something, nothing would stop her from getting it.

Knowing that Bruce was seeking advice on how to approach Diana, Clark caught his attention once more. "Bruce, just talk to her. I know it's unfamiliar territory for you, despite what all of those other girls say,"—Bruce rolled his eyes at that comment—",but it's also unfamiliar territory for Diana as well. I've seen how she talks about you Bruce, the slight spark of joy that appears in her eyes at the mention of your name. Give not just her a chance, but yourself as well."

Bruce, appalled yet appreciative of the advice from his friend, stood up from his seat. He walked past their table, but before he left he placed a hand on Clark's shoulders. "Thank you, Clark," Bruce quietly said. He then walked out of the cafeteria, a task in his mind.

Clark smiled as he watched Bruce leave, hoping that his words gave Bruce the push of courage to admit what both him and Diana had been seeking for quite some time. It was tiring watching his friends dance around the attraction they both knew was there, each too scared to take that final step forward into uncharted territory for either of them.

He looked back to where Bruce was sitting, frowning as he noticed that the young-adult billionaire left his salad on the table completely untouched.

"Guess I'll clean it up," Clark mumbled to himself, grabbing both his plate and Bruce's and walking them to the dish drop off.

Bruce repeatedly tapped the eraser end of his pencil to the pages of his notebook, feigning attention to the board when in reality his mind couldn't be further than whatever lesson his teacher was lecturing on about. He loved the application of physics itself, but the class bored Bruce out of his mind. He already knew all of the material being taught, especially with how involved he had been in his company's own Research and Development department. Lucius Fox, a good friend of his father and current head of the department, always leaves the department doors open for Bruce to explore, claiming that he shouldn't be so isolated from the corporation he would soon inherit.

Subtly glancing to his left, Bruce focused on Diana as she intently took notes, making sure to write down anything of importance that their teacher mentioned. He watched as her blue eyes flashed over to his, before quickly snapping back to her paper in realizing that he was watching her, a small blush forming on her face as well. She was usually a welcome distraction from many of his classes, as Bruce could not help himself but be entrapped by her beauty.

When he first met her during their junior year of high school, she stopped him dead in his tracks. There were so many words that could describe Diana, however the only one that seemed to do her any justice was beautiful, with her looks being a prime example of how much the word was overused. To Bruce, it should be a word locked away, reserved to Diana and her alone. She looked like an angel that had graced the mortal world with her presence, a bright shining light in a reality that often seemed so dim with an absence of color.

She was tall, almost even to Bruce's own six-foot-two as she could just barely look him straight in the eyes. Her gorgeous legs, conditioned from the year-long commitment she made to track, were something that always caught Bruce's eye, how the strong and limber limbs graciously carried such a beautiful woman. She was in excellent shape, her body toned to perfection. It was no wonder why so many claimed that she had a physique similar to that of the legendary Amazons.

Her facial features were angelic. She had soft cheeks defined by a firm jawline, luscious lips that he had dreamed of being caught in their passion, raven-black hair similar to his own that he was aching to run his fingers through, and her eyes… light-blue aquamarine eyes that looked like crystal clear water one would find in paradise. It was fitting for Diana, Bruce assumed, as she truly looked like a personified paradise.

However, what made Bruce so attracted to her was not just her looks, but also who she was as a person. She was compassionate, thoughtful, yet had a stubborn and competitive streak that could rival his own. Plus, her brain was on par with her beauty, being able to keep up with even him in the most complex matters. She was far advanced from her current education level, however she had a passion for learning and improvement no matter what environment she was in.

It only took Bruce a little under a month after meeting her to realize he had a crush on Diana, and truthfully it scared him.

Heartbreak was a commonality in Bruce's life, no one taking him seriously since he was only seen as a show-off billionaire who could do whatever he wanted. None of his relationships ever went anywhere besides a rare kiss, mainly since no one ever appreciated Bruce for who he is or what he accomplished, just the things that have already been given to him: that being his money. It was one of the reasons he was so attracted to Diana. She didn't care about the status that wealth brought. She cared for Bruce not because of his fortune, but for who he was as a person.

The ringing of the school's bell brought Bruce out of his thoughts, quickly snapping his head up to look at the teacher.

"Okay, class! Make sure to have your assignments in by Friday morning since we drop tomorrow!" the older gentleman called out to the retreating students. "Have a good day!"

Bruce glanced at the clock, realizing that the school day was over. He quickly grabbed his bag before scanning for Diana, a slow panic arising within him at noticing that she was not in her seat. However, he just caught sight of her dark hair and backpack walking out the door, and he quickly sprinted around some classmates to catch up to her.

He didn't know why she was avoiding him, but Clark's advice rang true in his head, and he finally wanted to admit what he had felt for his Princess.

Diana hurriedly walked out the classroom, wanting to rush home and sit in her room to ponder everything that happened today. She was still extremely embarrassed of her rejection to Bruce, and she wanted to figure out a way to subtly let him know that she was not saying "no" to a relationship with him, if that was what he meant when asking her to lunch.

She shook her head as she quickened her pace, wondering why everything was so complicated when it came to men, specifically Bruce Wayne. She never had these strange feelings and problems back in Themyscira. A long phone call with Shayera and Zatanna was definitely in store for tonight.

Before Diana could make it outside of the school, however, a voice stopped her in her tracks, a familiar voice belonging to the one man she was trying to avoid.

"Diana! Princess, wait!" Bruce called from down the hall, his voice growing louder telling Diana that he was fast approaching.

Despite what her mind was telling her, Diana decided to stop and turn around, and even with the dread at seeing Bruce without resolving her thoughts, she watched with slight amusement as he quickly moved through the mass in the hallway.

When he finally reached her, his breathing not labored in the slightest, he only stared at her with those sapphire eyes, looking her over as if he were a soldier returning home from war to his beloved. Diana's chest filled with warmth upon his look, her nervousness slowly disappearing the longer he looked at her.

After a few moments of silence, Bruce finally spoke, his voice deeper and more determined than she had heard it in quite some time. "I need to talk to you," he urgently said.

Diana looked on expectantly, however Bruce quickly browsed the surrounded hallways crowded with students filling out the doors, noticing how many stopped to see what was going on between two of the school's most popular students. "Somewhere more… private," he quietly said.

Diana's heart stuttered for a small moment, however she nodded her head in response, fearful of testing her voice. She watched as Bruce thought for a brief moment, before reaching his hand out for her to take. She looked down at the offered appendage, before meeting his eyes and interlacing her fingers with his. What could only be described as sparks flew from their conjoined hands, with Diana feeling Bruce's rough hands hold onto hers as if she were his lifeline.

He quickly guided her through the mass of students as she tried her best to ignore the scrutinizing gazes of those looking upon them in shock at seeing her fingers interlaced with Bruce's. Diana knew this would start rumors like a bonfire, but at the moment that was the least of her concerns. Right now, she was more focused on where Bruce was taking her and what he wanted to discuss.

After taking the stairs to the second floor, Bruce stopped at a door that looked like a small classroom. Diana wondered if this was the room he wanted to take her, before her confusion rose in seeing him take out a set of keys and unlock the door. Bruce held the door open, and she quickly made her way in the room out of curiosity. The sight before her was a surprise.

She thought that the room would be an ordinary classroom, but she was mistaken. The room was much smaller than she originally guessed, being about the size of two supply closets put together. Inside was a grey love-seat couch with blankets draped over the back that looked to be worn in, a desk with a personal computer setup complete with a monitor, a small bookshelf full of various texts and school books, and a miniature refrigerator pushed into the corner with a lamp resting on the top.

"What is this place?" Diana asked, her curiosity winning out over her.

She turned to Bruce, watching as his face formed a small smile. "I'm sure you're aware, but Wayne Enterprises supplies the school with all of the technological components. Computers, extra laptops, monitors, security systems; if it relates to technology it's probably by Wayne Enterprises.

"Well, as a token of generosity, the school left a few rooms open that Wayne Enterprises could use for storage or electrical work. One of them had no use, so I decided to make it into a study."

Diana observed the room once more, taking in all of the details and noticing how much of Bruce's touch was apparent. Everything was neatly organized, all important materials within arm's reach from the desk if need be. The room was crafted in the most logical way possible, a statement of Bruce's personality.

The billionaire continued, shifting his focus to the room. "I come here sometimes after practice to get homework done or to use it as a place to relax and meditate." Bruce motioned to the couch before looking back to Diana. "Alfred was the one who recommended putting a couch in here to sleep on."

Diana's eyebrows raised in surprise. "You've slept here before?" she questioned.

His gaze dropped for a moment. "Quite a few times, actually," Bruce hesitantly replied. Seeing that she wanted an explanation, he carried on. "Sometimes, especially closer to the day… the day that they passed, I have trouble sleeping at the Manor," he quietly revealed. Diana understood the trauma he experienced at the death of his parents, and could see the sorrow attempting to break through his voice. "It's a change of scenery; helps me sleep better."

Without thinking, she quickly enveloped Bruce into an embrace, resting her head on his shoulder as she felt his arms tighten around her back. She wanted to provide comfort to her friend.

They stayed silent for a few moments, appreciating the comfort provided from their small act of intimacy, before Diana spoke again. "Has… anyone else been in here?" she quietly asked with her head still resting on his shoulder, wanting to change the subject despite her uneasiness at the question asked.

Hearing the slightly-possessive tone in her voice, Bruce couldn't help but smirk. He pulled back to look into her bright blue eyes filled with anxiety before stating, "You, Princess, are the second person besides Alfred to even know about this room, let alone step in it. I wanted to make sure that I could use this as a place to just… be myself."

Bruce watched as relief flooded through Diana, and he couldn't help but chuckle at her actions. He was rewarded with a punch to his shoulder, one that indeed hurt much more than would appear due to his grin.

"Not funny, Bruce Wayne," Diana replied with a glare. Steeling her emotions, Diana decided to turn the conversation back onto Bruce. "Now, what was the real reason you wanted to talk to me? I'm sure it wasn't to show me your private room," she commented, gesturing to her surroundings.

The grin fell slowly from Bruce's face, his gaze dropping to the ground as he contemplated his thoughts. A few moments of silence passed between them, and Diana wasn't sure if he was going to speak at all. That thought quickly changed when Bruce raised his head, his eyes seemingly bearing straight into her soul with the emotion radiating from them.

Looking back up into her hopeful, yet apprehensive blue eyes, Bruce decided to lay it all out to her, his Princess.

"Diana," Bruce slowly began, " You have everything that anyone could possibly want: intelligence, athleticism, beauty, and compassion, yet you don't brag or gloat to anyone. You became one of my closest friends, not because you wanted to be associated with the wealth that came with the Wayne name, but just because you wanted to be with me. There's been so many times where people have used me just because they wanted access to my wealth, but you care for me because of who I am as a person." Bruce walked up to a wide-eyed Diana, cupping her cheek in his hand. He almost sighed in contentment when she leaned into his touch. "I know we're barely adults, but these feelings I have for you are too strong to ignore any longer."

Diana looked up into his sapphire eyes, their faces inching closer by the moment. "What feelings?" she breathlessly asked.

"Love," Bruce simply responded, his lips a breath away from hers. She inhaled sharply, his revelation resounding to her core as her heart lit aflame.

A smile came to Diana's face as she reached up her hand to rest on Bruce's cheek in a mirror image of his action. "Bruce…," Diana began. "I… you've been one of my closest friends since I've arrived here. You're kind, handsome, and intelligent, but while you sometimes are stubborn,"—Bruce chuckled at her comment—"you have one of the greatest and purest hearts I've ever encountered. I… I love you too, Bruce."

Without warning, Diana quickly pressed their lips together, feeling as Bruce's lips curled into a smirk against her own before she succumbed to the dizzying passion of their love-filled exchange.

Breathlessly pulling back, Diana was the first to speak. "Wow." At Bruce's raised eyebrow, she explained, "I just never expected it to be so… electric." Bruce gave a smile, and she continued with a chuckle, "Earlier today, I thought I lost my chance with you."

Seeing the small sliver of fear in her eyes, Bruce laid a feather-light kiss to her lips, slowly pulling away until the only thing she focused on was him. "You could never lose me, Princess."

Diana felt as if she couldn't be more elated than she was right now. Everything seemed to be absolutely perfect. However, that notion caused a thought to pop into her head.

Groaning, Diana rested her head on Bruce's chest, feeling his powerful arms instinctively circle her before she said, "How am I going to tell my mother about this?"

She felt Bruce tense, and when she looked up at his face, she smirked in the slight fear apparent in his eyes.

"That is a bridge we'll cross when we get there," he replied with conviction.

The next day, Diana was at her locker, once again swapping textbooks out of her backpack. Almost immediately, she felt the presence of two people standing to her left, so she quickly finished placing a textbook in her locker before addressing her new arrivals.

"Hey, Di," Zatanna greeted.

"Hey Zatanna, Shayera" Diana responded to the two women, a large smile on her face. "How are you guys doing?"

"Fine," Shayera quickly replied, raising an eyebrow at Diana's joyful mood. "You seem rather chippy. Anything happened that we don't know about?"

Diana's eyes went wide for a moment, however right before she could reply a new guest made their presence known.

"Shayera, Zanna," Bruce said with his classic Wayne smirk. The two women then watched on with interest as he addressed Diana.

"Diana," Bruce greeted with a much lower tone. Then, before their eyes, he cupped Diana's chin and brought her into a kiss, the latter's eyes going wide in shock before melting into the exchange. As soon as it began, it seemed to end however, as Bruce pulled away with a knowing grin to say, "I'll see you in Calculus, Princess."

Bruce walked away, appreciating the shocked glances of Shayera and Zatanna as he walked by.

Shayera and Zatanna turned back to Diana, who was now hiding her crimson face behind both of her hands. Both women gave a small scream of excitement that drew slight attention to them, however they ignored the glances.

"We are definitely talking about this over lunch," Zatanna commented.

Shayera gave a grin, before patting Diana on her shoulder and saying, "I guess those secret crushes aren't secrets anymore."

A contented smile graced itself upon Diana's face, happy that her secret crush had now been turned into reality.

The End

A/N: I hope you enjoyed the story! I wouldn't mind exploring a possible high school AU completely seperate from this where I would have time to develop their characters better, but for now this was my extremely quick (wrote this in about 3 days lol) take on a possible WonderBat high school scenario.

To all my JL: Outset fans, I plan on my next work being chapter 9 of JL: Outset, and I'm hoping to start writing it very soon! Usually JL: Outset chapters take longer to write than my typical oneshot since I really plan out how I want the singular chapter to go in order to set up the next 3-5 chapters ahead of it fluidly. Plus, sometimes I have to reread my own work to make sure that my continuity is all lined up and I'm not introducing something out of thin air, so that takes some time too lol! I have a very detailed note-timeline-thing in the Notes app (on Apple) that I use for story planning, but I'm constantly shifting around events to put them where I think they would be better. Chapter 9's "planning phase" is essentially all done, I just have to start writing it!

Anyway, that's just some stuff that's going on. I hope you're all doing well! :)
