Total Drama: Dreamland Episode 4: Total Drama's Got Talent: Part 1
Chris is seen in front of the warehouse and begins his intro, "Last Time on Total Drama Dreamland. The contestants all went for a jog in the woods. But that jog was filled with zombie bears, feral dog girls, and annoying rabbits. Sarah prove that she's only out for number one, and Kevin proves that he can possibly be a threat after beating Katniss in our first boss fight. The Dreamers win thanks to Eileen and her using her powers for the first time, and after unintentionally causing a zombie apocalypse, it was Cara who took the next seat in the Prison of Shame. This challenge, we move away from the woods and head back into the spotlights. Who will show to be Total Drama's next big star? And who will hilariously fall on their face right into our next seat in the Prison of Shame? Find out right now on Total…Drama…DREAMLAND!"
Several cameras in all directions aim at the entrance to the warehouse while a familiar tune plays in the background.
"Dear mom and dad I'm doing fine." The cameras go into the warehouse and immediately zooms past Chris and rotates around the Dreamcatcher 500.
"You guys are on my mind." The screen of the machine starts flickering until it shows an image of Benjamin on a rocket is space and riding the rocket like a horse and speeding off the screen
"You asked me what I wanted to be and I think the answer's plain to see," Another rocket appears and it's hit by a baseball which cause the rocket to explode. The screen then shows Mathias smirking as he was holding a bat. Touma stood by his left and falls down after having a panic attack from the rocket exploding and Mathias looks down and frowns at him in confusion.
"I wanna be famous!" The screen then moves to a tea party with several giant stuffed animals with Liz and Cara sitting in chairs. Liz is enjoying the tea and looking to scheme her next move while Cara is full of fear and runs away screaming.
"I wanna live closed to the sun," The screen changes to a carnival where Maverick was winning at a ring toss game and throw his arms up in triumph.
"So pack your bags, cause I already won," The screen changes to a giant nest where Eileen was taking care off several crows laying around her and one was pecking at her right hand for treats, which hurt Eileen and she yelps in pain.
"Everything to prove, nothing in my way," The screen changes to a forest where Sarah was running away from an unknown person. She trips and sees Kevin, who laughs at her before screaming and dodging a giant knife aimed at his head.
"I'll get there one day," The screen changes to a cafeteria where Chef was making something, and Wendell was depressed about it and lets out a sigh.
"Cause I wanna be famous!" Chef hears and was going to attack him, but Danuja pulled him out of the way before Chef connected and as Chef crashed into something, both Wendell and Danuja smile at each other.
"Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na," The screen changes to a dark room where Makayla was staring down against four sets of eyes with one set of them being Katniss and has a sword ready and prepares to fight.
"I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!" The screen then changes to a musical stage where Carmen and Silver are entertaining a crowd. Carmen doing several dance moves and Silver slowly moving into a random pose. Both end in perfect symmetry to each other and doing jazz hands.
"I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!" The screen goes up to the sky where the moon appears and goes down to show a frozen wasteland where Felix was shivering while hustling by a fire and was given a jacket by Meredith and they smile to each as a whistling sound is heard and the screen pulls back to show all of the contestants and a neon sign that says Total Drama Dreamland. Then the screen fades to black.
(VIP Room)
Kevin is currently in a King-size bed eating a steak and egg breakfast with golden utensils and a cool glass of orange juice. The bed itself has red covers, fully stuffed white pillows, and a metal golden bedposts that screams 'extravagance'. The rest of the room has a similar feel with gold and white striped wallpaper, a giant flat screen TV with an all-around sound system, and a several mints to snack on in boredom.
In short, Kevin is having a great time, but also takes a bit of time to reflect on what happened last challenge. It wasn't the boss per se, since he obviously won thanks with the help from Wendell, but something also is on his mind, "Her mother abandoned her too huh?" Kevin says as he put the fork down. "In hindsight, it was obvious, but…she was stuck in the middle of nowhere." Kevin started to feel guilty about what he said, especially when he really only said it in the spur of the moment after defending Wendell.
He gets out of bed and put his empty plate by the bed, wearing only a pair of black boxers as he gets his stuff ready for checkout His guilt turns to frustration though, and in turn, he punches the wall and leaving a bit of an indent, "Get it together! Kevin!" Kevin shouts to himself, "You're an athlete! An alpha! You shouldn't let crap like this affect you!" He starts to flex his biceps and continues, "It's a new day and you are going to show everyone yet again why you are the best, especially compared to any girl tries to put you down!"
*KNOCK* *KNOCK* KNOCK*
Kevin hears someone knocking on a door and goes out of the bedroom to hear the sound coming from the entrance door. Kevin opens the door to see it's Margaret. Who begins to speak, "Your next challenge starts in half an hour. It's time to move out and return the key to me."
"Ppphhhfff." Kevin scoffs and waves her demand off and says, "Lady please. We both know that I'm going to beat every boss in my way. So, why not do us both a favor and let me…?"
*Click*
Kevin doesn't finish his thought because he sees that Margaret just pulls out a gun and aims it directly at Kevin, "One more word and I throw your body down the chasm without the Prison of Shame breaking your fall." Kevin quickly gives her the keys to the room and takes his bag with him out of the door.
*SLAMS*
Margaret slams the door shut and locks Kevin out. But then opens it again to give Kevin the rest of his stuff back, then she slams the door twice a hard. Kevin looks down and realizes that he hasn't changed yet and quickly goes to his original room to do so.
Confessional Start:
Kevin: Pull a gun to be intimidating. Typical girl's way of doing things. But she'll see. With me and my alliance, I'll get even with her soon enough. Hehe. (Kevin starts to frown) But I still think I own wild girl an apology for crossing a line. I know, weird of me to say, but no one should be abandoned. Especially by family.
Confessional End:
(Contestants' Room)
As Kevin went back to his room. Carmen is listening to another song, this time it was a love song. Mathias and Ben walk past her. Or in Ben's case, she runs past her and knocks her over. Mathias picks up Carmen and asks, "Sorry about Ben, he's running to try and look for Katniss. Are you okay?"
"Not sure." She replies. She then gets up close to Mathias with a sultry look on her face and says, "Maybe you can kiss it and feel better."
Not understanding the response, Mathias slowly backs away and asks Carmen, "Um, again I ask, are you okay?"
Carmen then quickly grabs Mathias by the hand, spins him around, and holds him in a similar pose that dancers use to finish a dance, and to kiss. "Don't be so quick to run handsome. I'm just thinking that you and I could work together. Especially with your poor showing in the first two challenges."
Mathias eyes widen at the thought and tries to squirm out of Carmen's grip, which is failing miserably. So, he settles for saying, "Hey! I may have a temper when I play the game, but I can still be an asset to the team. And I don't need anyone's help. You hear me?"
Carmen just simply pinches Mathias' cheeks and replies, "Oh, so cute, and so delusional." Carmen then drops Mathias and looks him and the eyes and says, "You fail as leader in the first challenge, you were taken out first in the boss challenge, and the only reason you're still here is outside factors, which the only part you played in it was a vote. Like it or not, you aren't going to stay much longer if you can't find someone to stand by you, and I'm not talking about Ben, but a real partner."
Having heard enough, Mathias picks himself up from the floor and angrily says, "One, you're not my type, so you're not even in consideration for that kind of relationship. And two, like your any better than Ben when it comes to partners? You practically change personalities every time you hear a different song. As least with Ben I know what I'm getting."
"Well. Looks like big bad Mathias is playing hard to get." Carmen replies, "But don't worry, once your learn to see what you need to win this game, my doors will be open for you, in more ways than one." Carmen then heads back into her room and Mathias is left alone thinking about what to do next. But then Carmen comes back and asks, "Hey. Is it time for breakfast?" Mathias nods and heads to the elevator with Carmen.
Confessional Start:
Mathias: Okay. I know Carmen didn't really meant what she said back there, but I'm not blind to my problems. If I'm going to make merge, I'm going to need to start talking to others. Something I didn't really want to do. But on the bright side, losing so early meant that there are plenty of cracks for me to squeeze through. Not ideal, but it's my best, and perhaps only option now.
Carmen: While the song's done, I'll say that I'm not too interested in Mathias either. Too serious for me. You know? But an alliance, that's something I can get behind. I know that I'm just here for fun, but I'm actually enjoying my time here, so I kind of want to stay, even if it means actually playing the game.
Confessional End:
(Mess Hall)
Ben is now in the pantry looking for Katniss alongside Chef. Katniss herself is currently hiding from Ben, now being terrified of him from last challenge. At the moment, she's hiding under the table where Mav and Eileen are sitting. Mav sees her and not really wanting anymore of the gruel, Mav gives Katniss the rest of his meal and Katniss scarfs it down in seconds. Katniss is very happy and hugs Mav, before seeing that Chef and Ben sees her, and she starts running with both of them hot on her trail.
"She must have had a rough life if she was grateful for that kind of food." Mav says to himself while looking at Katniss running away.
"She…She still can beat us up if she want to." Eileen replies. Actually, trying to talk to others for a change.
"Still…" Mav says, but then he looks at Eileen and continues, "Thanks by the way for helping us win the last challenge. You really saved us back there."
Blushing at the compliment, Eileen replies, "Th…Thank…you! An…And thank y…you for sta…standing up for me at the ca..campsite."
"Not like I wanted you get hurt." Mav says, "And are you okay? You seem to be having trouble speaking."
"I…I just don't talk to othe…other people much." Eileen replies.
"Well, maybe I can teach you." Mav offers, "I'm a promoter after all. Speaking comes with the territory."
"…" Eileen was about to say no, but then she remembers what Carmen said to her before and replies, "Y…Yes. Plea…Please."
"Awesome." Mav says in excitement, "I'll try to help you during the challenge, or if not there, then after. For now, though, just try to relax and get ready for the next challenge." Eileen gulps in response and wonders what did she just agree to.
Confessional Start:
Eileen: So, now I'm taking speech lessons? Maybe it's needed, but now I'm going to have to actively converse with someone. I'm going to find some place to curl up in a ball and hide? (Runs away from confessional)
Confessional End:
Back in the mess hall, Touma sees Makayla eating by her lonesome for the time being and after learning of the reason for badmouthing, Touma decides to go sit with Makayla. Makayla notices this and asks defensively, "Hello Touma. May I ask why you decided to come sit with me?"
Touma could hear the harsh undertones in the way she spoke. But Touma just sighs and replies, "I'm sorry for my ungentlemanly behavior as of late." Makayla raises an eyebrow as Touma continues, "I had no idea that your powers, or at least a part of them require you to insult others for them to work properly. And because of it, I grew to have a bad first impression of you over the course of the game. Now that I know the reason, I do not wish for bad blood between us any longer. So," Touma puts up a hand in front of Makayla, "Can we start over? As fellow allies and competitors?"
Makayla thought over this briefly, and feeling like it's better to forgive and forget, Makayla returns the handshake, and says, "Thank you for apologizing."
"My pleasure madam." Touma replies.
Confessional Start:
Touma: After knowing the reason for her attitude, I saw no reason to see Makayla as my enemy. In fact, once Kevin is gone, she'll be the ideal person to replace our soon to be ex-leader. After all, I doubt that the others are more understanding than myself.
Makayla: Well…that's cool that someone actually shows understanding, even if only partly. But Touma is still a threat, plus I see the pattern, sooner or later, I'm going to say something wrong that will make Touma my enemy again, and unlike others, he'll be a threat to me in long run. Plus, his outfit is so out of date, I could've sworn he come from 18th century.
Confessional End:
At another table, Sarah and Bullet are eating together when Katniss steps on Sarah food while running from Ben and Chef again. Sarah looks unamused while Bullet is holding back a snicker. "I don't see why you are laughing. Traitor!" Sarah says with venom to Bullet.
"Really?" Bullet stops laughing and says, "I just went to face off against Katniss. Sure, it ended badly, but to call me a traitor is a bit harsh. Plus, it worked out didn't it."
"No thanks to you!" Sarah shots back, "We had a better chance of winning with all of us working together. You go off on your own for your selfish desires."
Now looking offended, Bullet replies, "I'm selfish, Huh? That's rich coming from the girl who was willing to let a fellow teammate get mauled by bears and possibly fall out of the sky." Sarah looks surprised on why Bullet knows this, "Yeah. I saw it. The benefit of losing early was I could see how those still in act and react. And your actions and reactions were good movie material."
Being flabbergasted a bit, Sarah recovers and replies, "At least I was with the team. And don't forget that I'm the leader, you're suppose to do what I say because…"
"Because you're such a great leader. Right?" Bullet chuckles as he says this, "Seems to me like Mav is the real leader of the team. You actually seem like a figurehead to me."
Sarah immediately shouts, "Well, to me, you're my enemy! And don't think I won't vote you out next time!" Sarah immediately leaves the mess to parts unknown.
Bullet simply chuckles once more and says, "Next time huh? If that's how she's thinking, then she already lost. By then, she'll be dead in the water." Bullet takes a drink but immediately spits it out because it tasted horrible.
Confessional Start:
Sarah: Damn it! I have no respect on the team at all. Even after I went apologized to everyone last round. And now Mav and Bullet have control of the team in all but name. This can't happen. I'm supposed to lead this team!
Bullet: Yeah. I'm not going to worry. Sarah's doing fine with that by herself. And I'm glad she'll be gone soon enough.
Confessional End:
As Katniss beats down Chef and is now avoiding Ben, Wendell and Danuja are eating in silence. Wendell is looking to say something but couldn't find the words for it. When he finally realizes what he wants to say, "ATTENTION ALL CONTESTANTS. IT IS NOW TIME FOR THE THIRD CHALLENGE! PLEASE MAKE YOUR WAY TO THE ELEVATOR AND TO THE DREAM CATCHER!"
Wendell sighs at the interruption, but then Danuja passes him and says, "We can talk more after the challenge." Wendell smiles at this and follows her to the elevator.
Confessional Start:
Wendell: Okay. I'll admit it. I'm thinking that I have a slight crush on Danuja. I'm thinking it's because I just don't know too much about her. Still, I'm not too sure if I should look for love in a show like this since Total Drama has broken quite a few hearts before. At the very least, I think I should know more about her first.
Danuja: Wendell is surprisingly someone I'm okay with talking to. I'm not okay with talking to anybody. But…I don't know, should I try to tell him more, and leave him guessing? Because I'm actually liking that he's taken an interest.
Confessional End:
As the other contestants make their way to the elevator, Meredith holds Felix back a bit as Chef shouts, "ELEVATOR FULL! WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE!" And shortly afterwards, the elevator closes and both Meredith and Felix are among the few who are left behind waiting for the next elevator.
"So…" Felix asks, "Any reason why you're stopping me?"
"I know about the alliance." Meredith replies, leaving Felix's eyes open wide in shock, then Felix hears Meredith continue, "I also know that Touma is trying to take over the alliance and is trying to recruit Wendell who appeared to be hesitant over betraying your leader, Kevin. I have a feeling you planning to join this little rebellion?"
Seeing that Meredith figure so much out already, Felix narrows his eyes and says, "Alliance or no, you have no real proof of me betraying it. And therefore, no leverage to blackmail me. And if I have such an alliance, I could just convince it to go after you first before it implodes beyond recognition."
"True." Meredith admits, "If I'm right that all the boys in the Terrors are in it, then blackmail at this point will surely backfire on me." Meredith then smirks and says, "But can this alliance survive to that point?"
"I suppose you mean Touma?" Felix asks.
"Yep." Meredith confirms, "Whether Touma succeeds or not is irrelevant. What happens after though, that's is what's going to shift the game."
Felix thinks about this and says, "Who do you have in mind?"
Meredith replies, "Myself, you, Makayla, and Wendell if he's willing. Kevin or Touma first depending on next ceremony. You're up for a real alliance?"
As Felix thought about this, the elevator doors open and the remainders all start to get on the elevator, leaving only Felix enough time to reply to Meredith, "I'll think about it." They both nod and go into the elevator.
Confessional Start:
Felix: Touma! You idiot! You just ruined your game and perhaps mine in the process. I wanted to work with you in this game, but you just sign your death warrant. Pretty much the only options left for me are either to remain loyal to Kevin's fake alliance or join Meredith's real one. But with how Meredith figured everything out so quickly, that may be a harder choice than you would think.
Meredith: I have a feeling that Felix is scrambling right about now on what to do. But I'm sure he'll make the right choice. Just like how Brutus made the difficult choice to stab Julius Caesar. Only in this case, Kevin is Caesar.
Confessional End:
(Dream Catcher)
All of the remaining contestants are waiting by the Dream Catcher while Chris is checking his watch on his left hand and Chef standing beside him looking banged up from trying to catch Katniss. The contestants are all wondering what's the holdup. So, Felix tries to ask what everyone's thinking. "So, Chris, are we getting into the machine? Or…
"In a second." Chris says, "Today's challenge requires another person to…"
"I'm here McClean.' Margaret replies as she gets off the elevator and walks up to Chris and Chef, "Let's go and get this challenge over with."
"Got it." Chris says, "Everyone, you should know what to do now." Everyone goes to put on their headsets. Except for Ben who is convinced that the headset is a mind control device, and half his team holds him down to put the headset on him. Eventually, they get the headset on him, and everyone heads to the next dream.
The Dream is a stage that's a reminiscence of big stage talent shows with blue lights, three giant X's on top of the stage, a judges table right across from the stage, and a bunch of low tech, unseen NPC's who are cheering loudly as the teams and hosts enter the dream. After a bit of cheering, Chris goes ahead and explains the challenge, "Welcome to our Dream for the day. Thanks to Bullet and his dream of entertaining people." Bullet has a proud smile after hearing that, but Chris continues, "As such, today's contest is a talent show."
"Talent show?" Kevin shouts in disappointment. "We need violence and broken bones. Not some girly talent show."
Everyone looks angry at Kevin for that, but Chris chuckles and says to Chef, "I'm liking this guy more and more." Chef snickers at this, and Chris looks at the group and continues, "Anyway, each team will have three acts that will perform on this stage and will be judged by myself, Chef, and Margaret." Margaret and Chef wave at them with cringe-inducing fake smiles which only serve to creep the contestants out. Still, Chriss continues with the rules, "If your act blows, we will promptly hit our red buttons." Chris presses a red button he somehow has on his person.
*BZZT*
After the noise, the middle X becomes bright red, and Ben with worry shouts, "Oh no! The X is red! Every man for himself!" Ben starts running in a frantic pace with Mathias and Mav trying to hold him back and Carmen trying to calm him down as Chris continues, now getting annoyed with all the interruptions.
"Anyway. The acts that we do like however, will get a chance to win immunity for their team. If we somehow dislike all of them, will pick the one we dislike the least."
Makayla asks, "Well, what are those who aren't performing going to do?"
"Good question, Makayla. If only you can do that good on a daily basis." Makayla frowns at the remark, but Chris continues anyway, "Since most of you have more or less figured out your powers by now, we are encouraging you to use these powers to either help you in your performance or help those performing if you are not. We are also encouraging sabotage, so feel free to muck up the other team's performance as much as you want. Other than that, it's a simple talent show. Perform the best for us, and you win. Now, pick your performers and let's get ready for this circus of a performance.
And….Cliffhanger. Yeah. Sorry about taking so long for this. I've just been doing other things lately, but I wanted to get this out before July 24th, which is my birthday. I do plan to make up for this though, both as an apology, and as a gift from me to all my readers, I'll let those who read get first shots. On what, you may ask? Well, Check my profile. That is all.
Anyway, I plan to get the next part of the chapter done by the end of month, or somewhere near the beginning of the next so, I hope you can look forward to it.
