Chapter 9

The hand of magic

Sky POV

These land walkers were strange. Nick had some smarts, he made the land fly, clearly, if you're stuck to the land, then make the land fly. He is a worthy mate, but I must get the permission from his owner. Jak is smart, she keeps Nick close so I have to gain her approval. Julee, Jak's older sister, says that I must seduce Jak as well. Julee said since their sisters, she gets Nick without Jak's approval. They have a great family dynamic; my sisters would never share anything. During our flight I would give Jak complements about how her horns look nice, and it's true, I was always jealous of my sisters, Lightning Rider and Cloud Watcher, had curved horns and they would gloat about them all the time. Jak and Julee's horns curved even more than my sisters and they didn't gloat at all, they are very humble. If I had horns like that, I would have gloated all day long. What I didn't like was that I had to wear 'clothes' they blocked the wind from my skin, so I asked Nick to make me 'clothes' like the angry black hair lady who wish to mate with the black-haired warrior. Nick made me 'bikini armor', the red hair warrior, Assteir, seem not to like it because he won't look my direction whenever I pass by. The armor made me shiver, I felt, bigger, stronger. I did keep the 'Shirt' Jak gave me after our cleaning together, it smelled like Nick.

Seducing Jak had to be put on hold for now, after awakening the old land walker, Erman, I think his name was, the other land walkers that travelled with Nick, stayed in the large cave with many holes, which Jak calls a 'Caseoll' while Nick, Jak, and Julee, would go out to the field outside of the 'vallege' to make more walls and small caves. They told me that more land walkers would come and that they would need small caves to sleep in. I didn't understand why the land walkers would come out here, but Nick made good caves, strong, sturdy, I slammed my tail into one and it didn't crumble. I told him so and he laughed and patted my tail and told me that he was grateful for my words. Humph, it seems like I'm already well on my way to seducing him, Julee gave me a thumbs up, which I learned meant, good job, but Jak only rolled her eyes, she is tough to please, just like mother, no wonder she owns a mate like Nick, I will learn much from her.

The wind in my wings felt great, with Nick and the sisters out on the field I took the time to fly around. Nick told me to stay in my smaller form and to only summon my wings. Something about how the land walkers would panic and run away. I didn't really care about them, but Jak told me that if the other land walker's panic, that they would get people to attack me and ruin Nick's hard work. I agreed to stay in my smaller form, if it meant that Jak would be happy. We were out here for about 7 nights, I would of course scoop up Nick, Jak, and Julee, and sleep together in one of the small caves Nick made. Best we get comfortable together, we were a new Thunder*, and had to get used to each other. Jak was a little annoyed with my actions, but after Julee and Nick stayed, she huffed and got comfortable. She did warn Nick not to try anything, but she was the one always waking up on his chest. She would wake every morning with a small yelp and jump off of our group huddle. I don't know why, Nick is very warm, I enjoy it when he hugs me at night, in fact, they're all warm. I enjoy our sleeping time; my sisters and I only ever sleep together when we were small. On the 7th night the small one with the red hair, Nana, I think, called Nick and said that we were going to a new place. I was excited, I don't really go to new places, most land walkers attack when I sleep near their small caves.

We all road back in Nick's fast box, it wasn't fast like flying, but I like the wind on my face and 'hair'. Going through the Vallege was new. Most land walkers run when they see me, and while the taller land walkers still backed away in fear, the small land walkers, which Nick calls them 'chillren', they're the land walkers dragonlings, fascinating. They asked many questions like, why am I so tall, why do I have scales, and do my horns fall off over time? Many of the small female dragonlings asked me how I became so big, I answered with the obvious, eat the smaller prey and then eat the bigger prey. They seem to understand and ran back to the tall land walkers. The female land walkers seem not to like me, I understood, I'm a powerful dragon and they are jealous weak land walkers, so it is only natural that the males would like me more, but they are weak. Once a male tried to touch me, Nick snapped his bones, and ever since then no male gets close. Good, Nick was stronger than them, they should know their place.

Meeting in front of the bridge was Nana and my study buddy Aya, she was warm too, but different, bright? shiny? maybe. I think she likes my bikini armor because she can't look away and touch her chest, I didn't have to carry all that shiny stone like she did. I give her 'kisses' like Julee showed me in her book, according to her that is how people show affection. Nick later told me that kisses are only for people I deeply care for, so I only give kisses to Julee, I would give Jak and Nick kisses, but they say I should wait and know them more, I don't know why, kissing is fun and I can taste what they ate last, Nick makes good food. One day, I think I'll care deeply for Nana and Aya, so they'll get kisses too, but not the males, they're not as smart as Nick, or the angry female with magic, she threatened me, no kisses for her, I don't think anyone will ever kiss her with that attitude, and the tall red headed female has a funny voice so she doesn't get kisses.

"Nick, we're ready to make our next move. Are you finished with your wall and houses?" Nana asked. Nick nodded.

"We made a wall spanning at least 25 miles, 20feet tall, reinforced, and has over 50 earth golems patrolling. I should tell the Arl about them and to send some people out there to keep the peace in case there's any problems needing a more, human touch." Aya looked shocked. I don't see why; she should know how strong and smart Nick is.

"20 miles!?" she yelled. I patted her on her head. Julee told me that's the best way to calm loud people. It worked! Aya stop yelling and tried moving away from my pats. Not wanting to hear her yell, I reached faster than she could move and carried her like Julee taught me. She called it the 'princess carry' and before Aya could complain I put my head on top of hers calming her down and showing dominance. Aya just slumped in my hands. complete victory!

Nick POV

I laughed at Ayla's face, all red and half covered by her hands. It was the picture of defeat and embarrassment. Perfect.

"So, how's Eamon?" I asked. With Teagan pushing most of us out of the Arl's room after his awakening, we were kinda left hanging, and not wanting to hang around the Arllesssa and her glare, I decided that my time would be best spent finishing the small town for the refugees, that will no doubt flood this area. I was going to take Ayla with me so we could continue her lessons, but Aeden reminded me she needed to learn how to fight. I did leave her homework, giving her a stack of papers and told her to right the alphabet and to write her own name. I'll check her work later. The only thing I knew was that he was awake because I got the prompt stating that I completed my quest. Natia gave me a shrug.

"Didn't really talk to him, but he looked okay, Cailin and Duncan are the ones who spend their time with him. he wanted to meet you, but after learning what you were doing, he decided it was best not to bother you." well that's nice of him, wise too, if there's a man making a town for the people who are about to flood your village for free, it's best not to have anyone bother him.

"So, are we going to get the mages?" according to our plan the mages were next. She nodded.

"Eamon wanted to meet you before we left. Probably to thank you for saving his people, or you know, kill you for burying his wife." she mimed a balancing scale. I bumped her with my hip, she just laughed.

"He can try! I shall crush his bones to dust!" proclaims Sky, who was holding Ayla a little tighter causing her to squeak and try to get out of Sky's grip.

"Sky! Sky! To tight! To tight!" Sky dropped her to the ground.

"Oh! I'm sorry Aya." she reached down, grabbing Ayla by the face and laying a big smacker right to her lips. I thought we got her to stop that? Ayla tried to fight back, but ran out of breath and just when limp in her hands. As spicy as this is, I had to stop Sky from killing Ayla.

"Sky. Sky! I think she forgives you." I said clapping my hands trying to get Sky's attention. The noise got her attention allowing Ayla to drop to the floor. Who just laid there looking up into the sky red faced and blank eyed, with a little bit of drool dribbling out of her mouth. Cheese and crackers, this kid is going to have intimacy problems or a weird fetish, and I'm not sure if I could fix that. "You, ok kid?" she just gave out a groan. "Come on, I got you." I squatted down and lifted her in another princess hold and started walking toward the castle. She buried her head into my neck. Sky was looking over my shoulder trying to check on her.

"How am I ever going to get married now?" she muttered into my neck. "I've been defiled twice now by a woman and I don't think she knows how to take responsibility." I just patted her on her back, well, at least I tried, it was awkward with the way I was holding her.

"Relax. It was only a kiss; I mean sure to was a real spicy kiss. I mean, wow." I said in awe. She tried to punch me, but didn't have enough space for a real punch so it felt more like a pat. "in all seriousness, if someone has a problem make them take it up with Sky, I doubt they'll give you any grief." she sighed.

"I thought you made her stop kissing people?" she muttered.

"I haven't! Her kisses are passionate! Life changing." Julee called out. I put my finger to her lips and gently pushed her way, refocusing on Ayla.

"I thought I did. Maybe she likes you, or maybe she wanted to taste what you had yesterday." I joked. She gave me another chest pat. "Is it that big of a deal? It was only a kiss?" she didn't say anything at first, she then mumbled something. I leaned closer to her. "What was that?"

"She took my first kiss." she whispered. I craned my head back blinking rapidly looking at her red face. Julee giggled.

"Seriously?" I asked.

"Not many people are willing to kiss an elf let alone a half elf." she said covering her slightly pointy ears. I gave her an incredulous look.

"You're joking." she gave me a confused look. This girl. "Ayla, you are a very beautiful young lady and will no doubt have to beat men off with a stick in the future. Women too, probably."

"You think so?" I rolled my eyes.

"Of course I do. Anyone with eyes could tell, why do you think Morrigan was so upset with you being in her boyfriend's arms? She believed you were a threat. If you were ugly, she would have probably not been as upset." Jakky nodded to my words, Ayla just stared at me with her big violet elf eyes. "One day, you'll realize how beautiful you truly are, and on that day, women the world over will tremble." I joked. She buried her face into my chest one more time before pushing herself off and back onto her feet.

"And if not, we'll take responsibility!" chirped in Julee, pointing at Jakky, Sky, herself, and I.

"I'm ok now." she said looking at the ground. "I'll meet you guys at the castle!" she took off running back to the castle in front of us. Sky just gave the running Ayla a confused look and chased after her. I think dragons have an easier time spotting moving targets. it was funny watching Ayla realize Sky was chasing her and try to outrun her only to be scooped up and carried like a sack of potatoes. I couldn't tell from this distance, but it looked like she was laughing. Jakky and Julee raced after them.

"Quite the charmer you are." Natia walking next to me. "Are the sisters not enough?"

"I call'em like I see'em. She'll be beautiful, it's her self-esteem that's holding her back. She'll grow into her confidence."

"What about me? Am I beautiful?" she said making an outrageous, over the top pose, batting her eyes. I smirked at her.

"Your hips are to die for." I said as if discussing the weather. "Your hair is a beautiful shade of red, and I like your snarky attitude. You're a woman worth loving, and I would be lucky to hold you." she slowly stopped posing and her face became a nice shade of red. She coughed.

"ahah, yeah, yeah, I got it, you charmer." She then punched me in the thigh. "By the stone, how could you say that with a straight face?"

"Because it's the truth. I think you and Ayla have the same problem. Your beautiful, you just haven't realized it." she gave me a long look and gave me one more punch before running off to join the others back to the castle.

"Geez, how can someone so smol be so strong." I gave myself a moment to look over the bridge at the village. It's hard to describe, the game could only show you so much, limited by its processing power, but in real life it's so different. Before I wasn't really looking at the village, I only wanted to build the defenses that we needed to survive the undead. Looking out now though, it had a rustic charm, most of the houses were made of stone and moss-covered roof tops, built into the hills. After the Arl was awakened and before I left, I decided to smooth out the dirt roads and rebuilt the main gate, it really looked beautiful. As I scanned the village, I spotted a woman holding flowers, not the first time I've seen her. Sarah, 36, widow, husband died in the castle, servant, lost her son the first night of the attack, the boy, the one with the... Messed up face. She comes to the docks and releases flowers for the dead, others join in, I'm not sure if that's a Ferelden tradition or if it's just a way for them to grief, but it reminds me that this is a very real world, that my meta knowledge could only help me so much, and every choice I make has consequences.

Sometimes, I think I was too mean to the Arllesssa, that she only wanted to keep her son safe, that the chantry was a cruel and monstrous organization, to take the children of mothers and fathers, to lock up the innocent in towers at blade point, and then I see this, a woman on her own, those she loved gone. Should I blame Connor? no, he is a child, he didn't know better. Jowan? who is no doubt still in the dungeons, a spy for a power-hungry madman, a Blood mage through fear, he has blame in this. Howe? Loghain?, for playing with the lives of their own people, one wanting power, the other thinking it's for the greater good, they definitely have blame in this. And the Arllesssa, if she just told Eamon, just said something to someone, maybe all this would have been prevented, I don't know. Maybe I'm mad at myself, maybe if I was here earlier, I could have done something, helped in some way. Hindsight, 20/20 and all that. I took a deep breath and began walking toward the castle. I won't take back my words, to many people died because one woman thought she could handle it all, no, she must take her lumps like everyone else.

-/-

The castle looks good. Before, everything looked like the same drab hallway, now though, there was colorful draperies that depicted Ferelden battles and important moments in the castle's history. Portraits lined the walls all ranging from middle age men and women, some younger, others older, but they were all here, masterpieces, all of them, and that's not me speaking, that was my Observe skill doing the talking.

Following the girls through my Tracking skill, I was led to the same large chamber room we had our confrontation with the possessed Connor. In front of the fire place sat Eamon, Teagan to his left, and the Arllesssa to his right. Around them were my friends? Companions? Roommates? Whatever, they were mingling with each other, mostly grouped into genders waiting for me, I guess.

"Ah, so you arrive!" called out Teagan walking up to me.

"Teagan! Looking good. How's your brother? And, how are we with getting brother Genitivi?" I asked.

"He's good, no, better than good, his great! Ever since he awakened, he seems to be filled with energy. The ashes of Andraste really did the trick. As for the brother, we sent a small team of knights to make sure he's ok, but you shouldn't worry too much, Brother Genitivi has been known for going to dangerous locations to 'find the truth'." he had a large smile that just screamed relief. I'm just happy I didn't leave a man to die on a drake infested mountain.

"Good to hear it. So, the mages? Heard our time here has come to an end." Teagan nodded. "My brother will give a quick summary on your next location, but I wanted to know how your project was coming."

"The wall and houses are finished and I have golems patrolling the outer wall and the wall itself. I would suggest you send some soldiers to present some sort of authority, my golems are there more for darkspawn killing." he nodded at me.

"I'll make sure to send some guards to help the refugees, you have my thanks, I feared that with the blight happening we were going to be flooded with refugees with nowhere to place them." we shook hands and nodded. Teagan was a good man, I'm lucky to have met him. He walked back to his brother and started whispering something, probably about the new village outside the gates.

"So, are you finished with your tiny village?" asked Morrigan, standing next to me.

"Yes, I am. Thank you for asking, I knew you cared." I bumped her with my elbow. she rolled her eyes.

"I care not for your useless distractions." I just smirked at her jab. Morrigan acted a lot like my younger sister, when she went through her Goth faze. She wanted to be included, but didn't want to seem eager, to feel important, but mysterious, all knowing, but uncaring of her knowledge. She wanted to be the cool new kid. So, I just treated her like my little sister.

"I don't know, that sounded like you cared."

"I don't."

"Le Gasp! Are you... jealous?" her eyebrow started twitching.

"Why would I be jealous of your useless ability to make mud huts for the peasantry?" she sneered at me.

"Le Gasp! again! Is it that you want? your own house!? Aeden! Your girlfriend wants you to make her a house for both of you to live in!" Morrigan punched my shoulder.

"you're insufferable!" I just laughed. "And I'm not his girlfriend!" that blush doesn't help you in any way.

"I'm joking, I'm joking. Sorry. So, what's going on?"

"The warden-commander and the king have finally finished revising our plan with the Arl." I waved that away.

"No, no, not that, Natia told me about that. I mean, what's going on with you guys? I've been 'wasting my time' as you call it. so, tell me what you have been doing with your time? What is Morrigan's training look like?" she hummed.

"I have been practicing my transformations. Simple, but necessary for quick evasion or surprise. No one is ready for a woman turning into a bear or giant spider."

"Nice."

"It most certainly isn't. So, tell me that you did more than build houses out there?"

"Ah! Of course, I also slept with 3 beautiful women." she choked on her spit.

"Be serious! We're going to fight a war. We're going to need weaponry, armory, power."

"I know, that's why between my sleeping with beautiful women and useless distractions, I made some armor and weaponry for some of you." she gave me a strong glare. "Yes, I made you one too. But my conditions still stands. You want your armor, you got to start making friends."

"But, Alistair's impossible! He keeps doing that annoying thing!" she through her hands in the air.

"What thing?"

"Talking!" I clicked my teeth at her. "And he tried to poison us!" I blinked at that.

"What?"

"He made poison, and if it wasn't for Aeden, we would have died a painful death!" I gave her a long look, seeing that she wasn't backing down, I looked for Natia, she's most likely to tell me the truth.

"Nat? Hey Nat!" I called out to her. Catching her attention, she moved away her conversation with the girls coming over to us.

"Nat? Really? Is that the best you can come up with?"

"Please focus, Morrigan tells me that Alistair tried to poison everyone, how true is that?" Natia gave me a long-confused look, she then snapped her fingers.

"Really Morrigan? Poison?"

"I saw you throw 'it' into a flower pot." Nat sighed.

"Alistair didn't poison us, he just... made us lunch."

"You hesitated there for a second." I pointed out.

"... No I didn't."

"You just did it again. Just, tell me how bad it was."

"It was gray." oh, that's bad. "And it tasted like week old rotten nug, and when I asked him where he got his nug, he just told me he had no idea what a nug was. It... was not the best."

"It was disgusting!" Hissed Morrigan. "It had the texture of mud and the smell of a week-old corpse."

"Okay. Okay, I see your point. Don't let Alistair in the kitchen. How was Morrigan otherwise?" Natia shrugged.

"Okay, I guess. She kept to herself. Didn't really talk to anyone." I looked over to Morrigan, who was now looking away.

"what's Natia's last name?" I asked her.

"Uh... Dwarf?" we just blinked at her.

"Natia... Dwarf. Really you couldn't even guess?" Natia placed her fist on her hips.

"Brosca. Natia, Brosca" I corrected her. "Does she have any family?" Morrigan squinted at Natia like that would give her the answer.

"Yyyeeeeeesssssss?"

"Is that an answer or a question?"

"Enough! We all know I didn't become 'Friends' with any of these people, but my point still stands. We need your armor and weapons, if we plan to win!" I looked up finding that the others became quiet. It seems like most of them are in agreement. I sighed, and looked back to Morrigan.

"Morrigan, do you really want to know 'why', I don't just give you your armor?" she kept glaring. "it's because your untrustworthy." she backed way like I slapped her. "that's why I want you to make friends. Ever since you've been here, you have kept a distance from everyone. If I gave you a suit there's a high chance you're going to just run and do who knows what. I want you to build connections with others. From what I'm able to understand Natia can never go home and Theron was marked for dead and his clan would not except him back, especially with a blight going on. And still they became friends and made friends with those around them. I want you to have friends, I want to, be, your friend, but you fight every time someone tries to get close. You need to show me you won't run when the odds aren't in our favor." Morrigan was quiet.

"Fine." she turns to Alistair. "Your cooking is terrible and every other word you say is annoying. Aeden my eyes are up here, but thank you. Sten, learn to smile more, you're technically a diplomat. Bard! my eyes are up here! Theron... your fine." Theron gave a thumbs up, Aeden sighed. "Holy girl, stop swinging your mace around wildly, yeah, I've seen all the broken pots." oh Ayla, Ya Muppet. "Dragon! Stop kissing people! Natia, stop being a clam jammer." a what? Natia just laughed. Is that a dwarf saying? I didn't know dwarves ate clams. She turned to me. "Horn sisters, you eat to many sweets. And you. You have too many secrets." I smirked at her.

"Hey?! How is that friendship?" Alistair's shocked face was hilarious. I laughed and pulled out a staff I made for her.

"Friends are nice, true friends are honest. Also, your never allowed in my kitchen." I pointed at him. I gave her the staff. She held it close.

"Thank you." I nodded at her.

"As for the rest of Ya mooks, gather round, I got gifts."

"I'm still a king you know."

"Right, sorry. Would Ya mooks and the mook king, gather round, I got gifts. Aeden, power armor, sword and shield, power collar for Princess. Sten, you didn't want anything with magic, but I made you superior armor. Cailin, power armor and great sword. Leliana, power bow. Duncan, power armor and a single one-handed sword. Ayla, improved holy armor and floating book holder. Natia, new enhanced daggers and power collar for Pancake. Theron... upgraded cloak." I sighed; overly loose clothes had a higher chance of being used against you. It did look cool though. They all started playing with their new tools.

"Hey? What about me?" called out Alistair.

"Oh? Are you finally ready to admit how cool my stuff is? On your knees?"

"I'll give you one admission of jealousy, no kneeling." bargaining huh? I didn't even know he knew what the word 'admission' meant. I looked over to Duncan, Eamon, and Cailin, two out of three had calm faces. Cailin was giving Alistair two thumbs up and a dopy smile. Is he even trying to hide the fact that they're brothers?

"This is some grade A level equipment I'm giving out. I know your jealous, I want more." him kneeling was a long shot, but I wanted to see how much Alistair wanted my armor.

"One apology with the admission of jealousy." he needs work on his bargaining, but his got the right idea.

"I was thinking more on the lines of," I then pulled out a sweater with the words 'I'm young, dumb, and filled with... pride". "Wearing this for a week's time in any town or village, we pass. Don't worry you don't have to wear it in combat." Alistair was frowning at the shirt.

"A week's a long time."

"It's either that, or, you wear it once, but it has to be a special event where important people can see you." ultimatums are fun. Cailin stepped in.

"That's a bit much."

"You can wear it in his stead."

"Like I was saying. You need to remember your words in the future Alistair." he backed down.

"Is there a specific day?"

"I'm thinking after we defeat the blight, there's probably going to be a party to celebrate our victory. That is the day I want you to wear it." a few 'ooh's' were muttered throughout the room.

"One day?"

"One day. You can keep the shirt." we looked each other in the eyes for five seconds.

"Deal." we shook on it. "I'm sorry, your armor has always looked amazing, I just never seen anything like it and didn't want to look jealous." And with that a suit of power armor stamped with the grey warden's griffin appeared. Next to it a polished steel sword and shield.

Eamon coughed out grabbing our attention.

"Well, now that that's out of the way. Let's talk about our plan."

-/-

The plan was mostly the same, but there were some changes. Cailin, Duncan, Natia, Theron, Leliana, and Sten, stayed behind. According to Eamon there was rumors of darkspawn coming out of the Korcari wilds and have been attacking Hamlets south of Redcliffe, they're going to confirm the rumors and see if they can save anyone. The rest of us will be heading to get the mages, and meet back up at Redcliffe then head to Orzammar as a group. In the meantime, the Arl will send scouts into the Bercilian Forest looking for the elfs. We were standing in front of Mother Base wishing each other luck.

"Remember to keep your phone on you." I told Natia.

"You worry too much. I'll be fine."

"Famous last words." she punched me.

"Take care and kick ass." she gave me a smirk.

"Charmer." I turned to Theron.

"Theron! Not a scratch." tossing him the ignition stone for the warthog. He gave me a thumbs up.

And with that they drove off, I was a little worried, that's my only car. I walked into my home and began placing in the mage towers coordinates. A little under a day. Sounds like good time. Walking back to the living room I found Ayla and Morrigan sitting together watching TV. They weren't talking, but I think that's because they liked what they were watching. COCO, the animated movie, but instead of Miguel being human, he was a Tiefling. The setting was the same if slightly more... gothic, pointy towers, the spirit guardians were the same. All and all it looked good. When they asked how the characters were animated, I just said 'magic', I feel like that's going to be my go-to answer to a lot of things.

Cooking a quick dinner for everyone, I decided to retire to my room, laying in my bed I brought up my gamer's sheet.

My stats are ridiculous, still better than numbers. All those runs into the dungeons and unleashing my golems at Ostagar gave me plenty of exp. I should use some of my Points, but leveling up is getting more and more time consuming. I feel like putting more into Cha and Luk, those two stats are harder to come across. I can level up the others through hard work, but the last time I got any sort of level up for Cha was when I was able to convince Sky not to eat me. And don't get me started on Luk, I needed to track the little question marks on my World Map and that only worked if I found something interesting. Treasure sense helped locate hidden things of interest, not telling me if it would be any good. When I was working on the village, one of the '?' was an old boot once worn by king Maric that he lost during his campaign against Orlais, it was useless, unless you're desperately in need for a single boot. I sold it for a single copper. I just kept doing that, go to a '?' see if it was any good and if not sell it at the Gamer store, all and all I got 15 Gold.

I was now looking over to my 1 random skill scroll, 1 rare skill scroll, 7 gacha tokens, and 2 silver loot boxes. I added 50 points to my Luk stat, 25 to my Cha, 25 to Vit.

I walked into my bath room and looked into my mirror. Nothing new. No stronger jaw or a smirk that would drive the ladies wild. I guess beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. I gain a slight definition to my body due to my Vit, and you tell me what Luk is supposed to look like. I opened my loot boxes.

Do you wish to open two silver loot boxes?

Yes

You have gained

20 gold

2 common skill scrolls

1 gacha token

1 steel helmet of insight

10,000 exp

Not bad, wasn't really expecting much. The helmet was interesting.

Steel helmet of insight – when stuck in a puzzle, this helmet will give you clues into solving it.

That's nice. Looking at the scrolls I found.

Zoom – what's that? The ability to zoom in on an object at a distance. MP usage depends on how far you zoom. Will combine with your Observation skill

Calming voice – be at peace. This ability allows you to calm even the angriest being. MP depends on how angry your target is combined with your Cha stats. Due to your Cha stat being so high you'll start at intermediate.

I learned both of them, never know when they my come in handy. Now with the total of 176 gold I decided to buy the luck potion. 75 gold down and 1 luck potion in hand, now it was time to use my gacha tokens.

You have consumed Felix Felicis, your luck as increased 10-fold for the next hour.

Gacha token spin!

Fry's seven leaf clover

Hyperspace engine blueprint

50% off coupon for the Gamer store

Rubber band ball (100 rubber bands)

The flaming raging poisoning sword of doom

Jeet Kune Do: the mastery of oneself

Gauss Rifle (30 rounds)

Spiderman's web launchers mk 1 (full)

Rubber band ball? I guess luck really is a fickle thing. Still, some of this stuff is pretty cool, a hyperspace engine on Mother base would be awesome. Absorbing the blue print into my construction skill, it showed me what materials I would need to have one installed. It was a lot and I didn't have any of what was needed, but I could buy what I needed, I just need time and money. Fry's cover was pretty nice to, it multiplied my luck by four, but only when I needed it most. Like if I was at the bottom of the ninth and all hope was lost, it would activate and change fate to give me a chance to win.

Jeet Kune Do – Practice 1 punch a thousand times. Fists are man's first weapon, and you know how to use them. + 20% to unarmed damage.

You are unskilled – rank initiate

I then unlocked my random skill scroll, followed by my rare skill scroll.

Air bending – be the leaf! The air is now your ally. 15 CP for every 10 cubic feet of air bended.

You are unskilled – rank Initiate

Armament Haki – my will over comes reality. Your will can now be used as a weapon. 50 CP per second.

You are unskilled – rank Initiate

Still having 55 minutes left in my potion, ran to Julee and we started making expert level Runes that her Gran-pop Jed writ in his journals. In the end we made 4 expert level runes, one healing, one light, which I placed as a spot light outside mother base, one mind translating rune, the same one Duncan used on the control deck to find Weisshaupt on the globe map, and one power rune. That finally nudged my Rune Crafting to Advanced.

Through hard work and effort, your Rune Crafting has ranked up!

Journeyman to Advanced, you can now upgrade any pre-existing runes to your current level. Complex rune sentences can now be placed instantly.

Kick-ass! I can now make a rune engine without spending a week writing it out, and I can upgrade mother base an entire rank. Thinks were looking up.

Elissa Cousland POV

This fecking sucks! Ever since Uldred returned yesterday, the tower has been in a frenzy. According to the mages who were at Ostagar the army failed to stop the darkspawn and the blight was heading this way. If that wasn't bad enough Uldred lost his damn mind, because he started summoning demons and using blood magic! Feck that guy! I hope when I kill him all his demon friends take turns with him when his soul passes through the fade.

"Elissa! The door is sealed, we can't get out!" screamed a young apprentice, Keith, I think. I was stuck protecting the children and the younger apprentices as I led them to the entrance. Where the hell are those damn templars?! Isn't this their bread and butter?

"Game over man! Game over!" I turned and slapped a panicking Sarah. Are those bastards leaving us to die?!

"Calm down! You're a Mage, if anything gets close just use magic to feck it up! Damn! You should know this you fecking baby!" now all I have to do is stay alive. An abomination came running around the corner. Feck, it looked ugly! I set it on fire. Maker's sweaty nut sack! Why are there so many of these damn things, did everyone in this damn tower become an abomination! Feck!

"I'm eight!" I heard someone yell. "And Steve is five!"

"Shut your yaps, ya babies! Everyone who knows any spells line up! Your all about to get real world experience!" Lining them up pointed at the only entrance to our room. "Wait till I give the order!" Another abomination came running around the corner. "Fire!" the abomination practically exploded! Feck Yeah!

And that's how we stayed for hours. we would change fighters every time someone got tired. A few people who survived the monsters would run in here panicked and bleeding. I was grateful that Wynne fought her way here. Her healing was Maker sent. I finally got to rest after a Senior enchanter Sweeny came through the door like a genuine bad-ass, hand outstretched, staff in the other, firm glare as he wiped out a group of demons like it was nothing. Was this the same guy who complained about how difficult it was to walk around because it was too cold some days? Never judge a book by its cover, I guess.

It's been nearly 2 days since this madness started the young ones are still frozen in fear. I can't blame them, there was supposed to be templars to stop this, instead they locked themselves on the other side of their magically sealed door. They decided it would be best to leave us here to die, some of them were still in here with us, Templar Stone was in the higher levels when all this happened. He was able to save quite a few of mages and lead them down here, but they would still not open the door. Damn them.

Before I could get into a screaming match with the door, its magic seal faded.

"Wha?" the doors sprang open catching me off guard. What came through was a Knight with a sword and shield, he looked nothing like a templar. For starters his armor was glowing with... Runes? Before I got to say anything, the knight vanished reappearing at the end of the hallway leading to the tower, where he cut down a Rage demon that was coming through the door like it was fresh butter. Now that I had some of my wits back, I was able to see the symbol on his chest. A griffon. A grey warden. He turned to look at us and removed his helmet, revealing his face... Wow.

"Hello, I'm Alistair, and we've come to save you." wow.

Nick POV

"Elissa?!" Aeden called out. He rushed in hugging a young lady who was laying on the ground staring at Alistair.

Human sorcerer

Elissa Cousland

Age: 18

Lvl: 17

HP 190 / 210

MP 100 / 260

Str: she needs to hit the gym

Vit: Not much exercise in a tower devoted to reading books.

Dex: Can swirl her staff pretty good.

Int: Spell first questions later

Wis: the more people we have the easier it is to kill the monsters

Cha: she has that classic Cousland charm

Luk: she's stuck in a demon infested tower

Third child of the Cousland clan. She was destine to live her life in a castle surrounded by everything money could buy, being spoiled by her family for being the youngest and the only girl to be born into the Cousland clan in over a 100 years, she had suitors a mile long. All that changed one day when she blasted away a chantry brother who was make unwanted advancements on her. She was taking to the tower that very same day. War almost broke out as the Cousland clan was mounting an all-out attack on the tower to retrieve her. It was thanks to cooler heads that stopped that from happening, but the Chantry brother was found skinned and hung in the town square. The Chantry and Couslands have been in a cold war since.

She's super confused right now.

She was wearing mage robes covered in blood and dirt, she must have been fighting for some time. She stood at 5'7, long black hair that matched Aeden's and Fergus's. She had a slight round face, freckles, and blue eyes.

"Aeden?"

"Good to see you. Ya punk." she returned his hug. I think she was crying, but I wasn't close enough to see, and that would be my story if anyone asked.

"What kept you so long? And what are you wearing?" I let them catch up, I had other things to do. I walked over to the children and started producing food from my inventory. The adults were hesitant, the children on the other hand started eating without being told. According to Greagoir, demons started infesting the tower 2 days ago. Seeing the children eat, the older people also started eating.

"Thank you. We ran out of food yesterday and some of us haven't eaten since this started." I looked at the elderly woman.

Wynne was born around 8:81 Blessed. Her oldest memory was of a hayloft on a farm in the Bannorn. The freehold, known as Langwynne, would be her namesake, as she apparently did not have one when the farmer's wife found her. Wynne stayed with the farmer's family for several months. One day, her magical ability manifested in the form of fire, as Wynne fought back against the freeholder's son who was bullying her. Afterwards, she was taken to the Circle of Magi in Kinloch Hold. Wynne was a model student and underwent her Harrowing years ahead of her peers, just before she turned seventeen.

She's grateful you arrived when you did.

"Happy to help. Can you give me any idea what's happening on this side of the door?"

"All out madness. Uldred, a senior enchanter, lost his mind and started summoning demons. We were able to make a strong defense here, but we know that if we didn't get the door open, we weren't going to last much longer."

"How many do you have here?"

"50 children and 30 able fighters."

"How many people are in the tower?"

"Hundreds. I believe that there are others locked within the tower trying to survive. We can sometimes hear spells higher up."

"I see. Greagoir will be taking the children, but can't take the others. Something about not having enough templars to protect them all." Convincing Greagoir to at least take the children was easy, the man had a soft spot for the innocent. I don't hate templars. In fact, I find them kinda cool, they were men and women who wanted to keep their community safe from what they thought was a serious danger. Problem was, that the Chantry used them as a whip to the mages and anyone who didn't comply to their demands. I always wanted to see a mage-templar team who would go out into the world, solve problems and save lives, like a buddy-cop dynamic. "As for the rest of you, I will leave my golems behind in each room we pass to give you some extra breathing room." I then summoned 4 steel golems to guard this room. The children had an awe look plastered all over their faces, and they should be, unlike my Knight Golems I made these look-like robots. Kids loved robots.

"awesome." and Alistair.

"They look dumb." commented Morrigan. I rolled my eyes; can she be any more jealous.

"Okay." Aeden gained our attention. "All children please move to the other side of the door. We will be resealing the door. Anyone over the age of 17 summers must stay on this side of the door until we've cleared the tower." some were not happy with that, but before they made any complaints Aeden continued. "Worry not, we have a large amount of golems that will be used to keep you safe." he pointed to the golem, who were taking positions by the door to the tower. "We will be leaving some of these throughout the tower." that seem to pacify most of them. "Dogmeat! Princess! Keep the kids safe." they barked and led the children out. It was kinda cute, Dogmeat and Princess were counting them one by one, making sure they got them all.

"I'm going with you." spoke out Wynne. "I know this tower like the back of my hand."

"I'm also going! Face it Wynne, you're not young anymore. You can't be in the front lines." spoke out Elissa. Bold for a girl who was running out of mana. Aeden was quiet.

"Nick, can you help them with some runes?" I didn't hesitate, reaching into my inventory I tossed them one necklace containing two Journeyman level runes of health and magic regen. "Stay behind us until your fully healed. Ayla you're in front with Alistair, Sky, and myself, your job is to exorcise any possessed mage we run across." she nodded. With the enhancements I placed on her new armor she should be able to exorcise just about anyone. "Nick, I need you at our rear with Elissa and Wynne." I nodded. This was a large tower, with many doors where anyone could be hiding in ambush. "Jak, Julia, and Morrigan we'll need you to provide covering fire and extra power if we're being overwhelm." and with that we moved through the tower.

It didn't take long for us to run into our first abomination, but with their new armor the wardens had no trouble holding it down, allowing Ayla to extract the demon from the poor girl's body. She was barely 15. I healed her and had a golem take her back to the entrance, with the other mages.

"How did she do that?" whisper Wynne with silent awe.

"She's the Maker's cleric. She uses holy magic to exorcise anyone who is possessed." I answered her.

"The Maker's cleric?"

"don't worry about it."

"And those ladies with horns and tails?"

"Don't worry about it."

"And the golems?" this time it was Elissa.

"Don't worry about it."

"Is that all you're going to say?"

"... Don't worry about it." she let out a loud groan. She really is a Cousland.

On the second floor we ran into a tranquil dark skinned elf moving boxes into a storage room. She was wearing rags, in the game you would see the tranquil in mage robes, but I guess they didn't want to make or pay for actual clothes in real life.

She was later tricked by her friend Jowan to help him destroy his phylactery. After being captured by the Templar and Jowan's revelation of being a blood mage, the templars made her tranquil.

She is not all there.

"Neria? What are you doing here?"

"ah, senior enchanter Wynne. It is good to see you in good health. I am moving some of the more sensitive objects into storage, like enchanter Owen asked."

"Ayla! fix her." I called out. Ayla started looking through her book.

"What? No one can reverse tranquility."

"it's never too late to learn, Wynne." Ayla walked up to Neria

"Be whole." and with that a flash of bright light ingulfed the room, followed by a long gasp. As the light faded, we found Neria on her knees gasping for breath.

"Breathe!" Ayla ordered. "Slow and steady." when Neria looked up her sun brand was gone and she looked around.

"Wha? What the damn, happened, just now?" she gasped out.

She confused, but grateful.

"Neria?"

"Wynne? The feck is going on?!" she got to her feet only to fall over right into Ayla's arms.

"Take a breath. You were in some sort of trance. Sky help me move her to that chair."

"I don-, woah!" Sky took a single step and lifted her into a princess carry. "You, uh, are big."

"You sit."

"Okay." she complied. I began curing her ailments. I cured her PTSD first and then her confusion. I could only imagine the horrors she must have been through. After curing her, she looked at me with her huge green eyes. "Who are you guys?"

"I'm Nick Walters, home owner, sorcerer supreme, dragon slayer." Sky nudged me. "Dragon lover." she nodded.

"Uh, okay. How did-"

"Don't worry about it." Elissa facepalmed.

"wha?"

"Sorry, been saying that since I got here. We'll answer all your questions when this place is safe. Okay." she just slowly nodded. "I'm going to have a golem lead you back to a safer place." she grabbed my hand with lightning speed.

"NO!" I froze. "They, they ripped my soul from my body. If I go back. They'll do it again." I looked over to Aeden.

"Do you have any more armor?"

"Three. For Sten if he ever changed his mind on having one, Morrigan if she ever made friends, and for Leliana for when she leaves her past behind."

"Will any of them fit her?"

"They can fit any one."

"Give her Morrigan's" said woman snapped her head to him. "For now. She can return it when we leave." she huffed and turned away.

"I made some improvements to the equipment process."

"You made these not a week ago, how much improvement could you have made?" asked Alistair. I smirked at him.

"Watch." pulling out Morrigan's armor and tossed it to Neria. As if made of liquid the armor spread throughout her body. Taking inspiration from the Spiderman comics, I made Morrigan's suit almost like a symbiote. When fully applied the steel armor appeared forming a 'suggestive' pattern, and of course it was... tight. Don't want any of that... loose clothing

"What am I wearing?" Neria tried covering herself. And like any good salesman, I jumped into action.

"Why, the best of the best! I hope you're paying attention Morrigan, because with the right actions this armor could be yours! at the moment it is in its default settings, all you need to do it is imagine a different outfit, any outfit. Maybe your old mage robes?" the armor molded into what she was wearing before with glowing armor pieces. "Or maybe into that beautiful noble outfit that you once saw that one time." It changed again to a beautiful outfit with a corset- blouse combo, with a deep 'V' neck showing off her breast a little, with a pair of sunglasses, black gloves, silver heel boots, with black stockings. The outfit then made steel runic armor appear in around the dress. The glasses were just for show, it had an invisible shield covering her head. "And who needs a staff? Your armor is the staff!" she looked at her hands that and let out a small fire orb. "Made with so many runes specifically for a mage, that make it almost impossible for you to run out of Mana!" the armor returned to its default mode.

"When did you make that? and when are you going to upgrade my armor?" Jak asked.

"It's new! Julee and I were working on it yesterday. It's a prototype. It needed two mini-arc reactors to provide the power, but it came out pretty nice, right? I'll upgrade your armor after seeing how this one performs."

"'tis most impressive, but you know what would have been more impressive?" asked Morrigan. I rose my eyebrows at her. "IF YOU GAVE ME THE ARMOR." she hissed at me, like a snake. I just laughed at her.

"Neria? Are you ok?" asked Wynne.

"Ok? Ok? I'VE NEVER BEEN BETTER!" she unleashed a powerful arcane bolt destroying a door, causing her to cringe. "Oops, sorry."

"It also amplifies your spells, so be careful and what not." I waved my hand nonchalantly.

"Can I have one?" Elissa asked.

"Sorry shrimpy last mage armor. Unless you want to run around in tank armor or maybe in a rogue outfit?"

"I'm good."

"Shame, would have loved to see how they would have worked."

"Will the armor provide more protection than what she has on?"

"Aeden. She's wearing cloth. Anything is better than what she's wearing right now."

"Give her Leliana's armor."

"Brother?!"

"Don't complain. It's for your own good." what a big brother. I tossed her Leliana's armor and before she got to say anything else, the armor morphed around her. It morphed into its default mode. Unlike Morrigan's armor, Leliana's armor was more modest. It was still skin tight, but had more armor. She had thick boots, gloves, steel armor for the chest, hips, and legs that glowed with magic runes. finally, with goggles made for an archer. It didn't increase her magic, but it did increase her speed and physical strength by a large margin.

"Try and not punch anyone you like. It might not kill them right away, but they sure as hell ain't getting back up." I warned. Her armor changed back to her mage robes.

"It's a bit... heavy. And tight."

"It's meant for someone with more muscle mass, don't worry too much, you'll get used to it." I turned to Wynne. "Sorry, the only one I have left is heavy armor and I think it would do more harm than good, but I'll add some runes to your current robes. Don't expect them to do much, but they should give you some extra juice." my runes seem to give her an extra skip to her walk.

Again, we exorcised any abomination we came across on are way to save Irving. In the game there were only like 5 levels, but like Redcliffe, everything is bigger. The real tower had like 15 floors, I always thought you would need steel to make a building this big. Magic, I guess. Some floors had only like 3 possessed mages, the rest were mostly demons, according to Wynne the Veil was weak here because of all the mages, so when Uldred when wild and started killing people the Veil got even weaker allowing demons to hop the Veil. I almost blamed Solas for such a weak veil, but it has held for thousands of years so, eh. We ended up running into some blood mages, but after giving them a good beating, I tide them up with stone golems. I didn't even want to fight, but when they attacked, well, I don't like being attacked, they know that now, or will, when they wake up. We would run into large pockets of mages and would order them down to the lower levels. We then ran into the templar who was being tricked by the desire demon.

At first, I thought we were going to talk to it, see if we could get her to release the templar, but before we said a single word Ayla just banished her back to the fade.

"Damn perverted demons. Wear some clothes." she muttered to herself. I laughed good and hard.

It wasn't until the 13th floor library when we ran into the sloth demon. I thought I was safe thinking it would use some kinda mind spell, it wasn't it was just a regular spell or its affinity or something, at the end of the day I was unconscious in dreamland or the fade, call it whatever you wanna call it.

I awoke on a flying rock. Looking around I spotted no one and nothing. Suddenly on another island a bright golden light shot out like a laser. Ayla.

Have you ever been in a waking dream? Where you have unlimited control of everything around you? Well, I was feeling that now. I crouched down and, like Neo in the Matrix, I shot myself like a cannon, flying towards the light. I idly wondered if anybody else in the fade saw that light.

Landing on the floating island were the light originated from, I found Ayla fighting some kind of revenant. She was making short work of it. I again, helped by trapping its feet, allowing Ayla a solid decapitation. She may not have her real-world weapons, but she knows them so well that its abilities passed over. One of the most interesting things I found was not the free power ups littered all over the place, it was that where ever Ayla walked a golden foot print was left behind. I guessed that with her being the cleric of the Maker and that the Fade copied what people thought, anything she touches will turned to gold. I wandered what would happen if she touched the black city.

Finding the others was pretty easy we just jumped from island to island killing any demon that got in our way. We found Jakky in a dream where we were married and had 3 kids, two boys, one girl, it was homey. I almost felt bad breaking it, no, I did feel bad breaking it, we looked happy. Maybe one day, but not today. Breaking her out of her dream was pretty easy when I killed my dream self, shocking her out of the dream. She told me, in no uncertain terms that I'm not allowed to talk about what I saw. I of course, immediately started talking about the dream she had. What house were we in? What were the kids' names? What did we do for a living? If she wanted me to grow a beard-mustache combo like my dream self? And if I should also make Lunch in only boxers and an apron? She only answered that our children's names were Jacob, Jeremiah, and Jak jr., JJ for short. It seems like we kept the J-family tradition. They were good names.

We found Julee next. She was in a lab of some kind. She turned and the lab changed to some liked of award ceremony where someone gave her a medal, I spotted us in the crowd. It changed again and now she was in Mother base, being greeted by Jak, Sky, and myself, as well as a dozen children. I also had a slight stubble in her dream, should I grow a beard? It changed into another scene this time we were in my bedroom, and I was completely naked. Ayla gave a loud squeak and cover her eyes. I decided that was enough. Just like with Jakky, I killed my dream self snapping her awake. She was upset that I cut the dream at the best part, but I just asked her to tell me the kids names and that got her talking about each kid, their names, hobbies, who was the mother, her dirty fantasy about how her, Jak, and Sky would use me like a toy. Ayla looked ready to explode, even Jak was sporting a blush. I just asked for more details, Best get to know what Julee finds sexy now and if I have to veto anything. Jak punched me.

We found Sky next and... wow. Poor Ayla, she was shocked into silence. Sky's dream was a sex cave. Everyone was there, well every woman we knew. Well not Leliana or Morrigan, but everyone else was. I just started shooting large amount of water flooding the cave. Sky eventually came out to investigate, which is when we struck. Let it be known that dragons are as powerful in the fade as in real life, because she was kicking my ass pretty easily. It took a combined effort of Jak, Julee and I, Ayla was still staring out into space, to finally snap her out of her dream. God hope pain didn't follow me back to the real world.

We finally ran into Aeden, who was able to collect everyone else. Finding and killing the rest of the demons that held us here went pretty quick thanks to some guy called Niall. Turned out he was some kick ass mage that tried to find and help Irving, but fell into the demon's trap. I promised that if he was still alive in the real world that I would save him. He didn't have much hope. Still people have survived much deadlier situations.

Coming out of the fade was a little jarring. I immediately summoned golems and had them kill any demons that showed up. That sloth demon was killed pretty quickly, no doubt it would have been a challenge to the beginning game warden, but with all my new weapons and armor very little could stop them now. To our relief Niall was alive, but fecked up. In the game it was implied that he was in the fade for days, us flying everywhere cut down on the travel time making it easier to get to him. After healing him I had a golem carry him back to the entrance. He gave Aeden some sort of scroll to protect us from mind magic.

Looking over to Ayla, I found her staring out into space. Sigh. Using my big man brain, I slapped her bum causing her to jump and try to slap me across the face. I dodged it of course, Danger sense to the win. Didn't stop her from trying 3 more times.

"You finished?"

"I can never unsee what I've seen."

"Your 17, aren't butts in all your dreams?"

"NO! Butts aren't in 'all my dreams'! I dream of happy things, my mom and dad, Redcliffe, ripping the arms of Rendon Howe and shoving them up his-"

"Butt." she swung at me again. "Joking, joking. You feeling better?" she gave one last huff.

"Yeah... thanks." I bumped her with my hips.

"don't worry, you know we got ya. And before you asked, no, I have an average penis size." this time my Danger sense wasn't fast enough and she gave me a picture-perfect uppercut. Mike Tyson would be proud.

"Knock it off!" she screamed laying me out.

You have been punched by Ayla for 75 HP of blunt damage and have been laid prone. Friendly fire! Your armor has mitigated 100% of the damage taking 0 damage and laid prone.

Man, am I glad I used that friendly fire rune on all my armors. What a punch! I'm pretty sure I flew for a whole three feet.

"What are you two doing?" Morrigan asked, looking down on me and over to Ayla.

"He was saying dumb stuff!"

"Obviously."

"Hey!" she gave me an unimpressed look.

"Do get off the floor, we're moving."

We walked into the next room finding a poor Cullen kneeling on the floor praying, but he wasn't the only one. There were some other templars and mages in his shield prison. Around them laid bodies of templars and mages that weren't strong enough or fast enough to escape Uldred's madness.

"Who are you?" spoke up a templar, his armor seems to be of higher rank then the rest.

"we're grey wardens, we are here to get the mages for the blight, but it seems like you have problems of your own." answered Aeden.

"You have amazing timing wardens, Uldred is through that door. We would help, but we're trapped behind this Barrier. So, unless you can bring it down there's very little we could do." Aeden looked over at me.

Barrier of Razikale

This barrier was placed here many years ago during the time of the Tevinter Empire. Used to keep dangerous test subjects, it was made to take a lot of damage.

Durability: 10000/10000

I shook my head.

"This thing was made to last; it would take to long for us to break it. I could have my golems wail on it, but I think killing the person who made it would be faster."

"Have a golem start trying to break them out. We'll go after Uldred." I had 3 steel golems punching the light wall. Each punch only did one point of damage, but it was something.

"I would suggest you stay away from the shield."

With that done we walked into the Harrowing chamber. We found Uldred all kinds of fecked up. His face was molded have way with a Pride Demon. Irving was being held by two abominations and a group of drake golems, they weren't even that well-made, they moved all weird, like snakes with legs.

"Ah, more test subjects. Perfect. I will gain control of this tower in no time, with warriors like you."

"Why are you doing this? What do you plan to gain? You can't believe that the Chantry would let this go. They would send more templars to stop you. Shit, they might just send an exalted march!" Aeden asked.

"It matters not. Loghain promised to give us his full support if I have the mages do what he wishes. No more chantry, no more templars, no more tower. Freedom for my people. I would do anything for that. Get them!"

And with that the fight was on. Sky and Alistair blitzed for the drakes, while Aeden when after Uldred. The pride demon that Uldred made a pack with was rather powerful, it stopped Aeden mid-charge, locking them in a sort of blade dance even though he had no sword.

"I remember you. The young warrior at the king's battle meeting, the one to made the Chantry mother back down. It was one of my fondest moments. For that I will use your body for a powerful spirit, to bring out your greatest potential." Aeden broke the blade lock.

"You're mad. Yes." Aeden slashes down, causing sparks to dance off Uldred's forearm as if it too was made of metal. "I do believe mages should have more freedom." shield bash. "But the change must come slow!" block. "The people must get use to mages helping the kingdom!" I earth bent Uldred's left leg into the ground allowing Aeden to cut into his chest. It wasn't deep, but he did bleed. Uldred released a magic infused roar knocking us back and freeing himself.

Neria retaliated with over 30 arcane bolts slamming into uldred pushing him onto his knees.

"It was you! You're the one that turned Jowan into a Blood mage!" I think I'm missing something here. "you're the one who had me turned tranquil!" fire ball! It exploded on Uldred's chest throwing him across the room slamming into the far wall.

"Hot damn." my armor seems to be working pretty well. "Ayla! How are those mages come along?!"

"I'm working on it!" she crushed another demon that got in her way. Morrigan and Jak were blasting demons trying to flank us. Sky and Alistair where killing anything that got in their way to Irving. Elissa was bouncing all over the place, punching demons and drakes instead of casting spells, to be fair that armor was for speed and hit-an-run tactics so she was using it right. Julee was stuck to the ceiling using her arrows to snip demons and cripple abominations allowing Ayla to exorcise them. Wynne would then heal the wounded mages and my golems would pull them out of the line of battle.

Uldred roared. Whatever scrap of intelligence he may have had flew right out the window, as he gave in to the demon he bonded with, transforming into a 15-foot pride demon.

"Enough!" he unleashed a powerful Flame wave.

You have been struck by Uldred for 120 fire damage. Armor mitigates 90% of the damage, you have taken 12 points of lightning damage. Armor recharging.

Hey! I finally braced myself correctly! Also, feck me, what is this? His final form?

"I AM ULDRED ASRIEL REGINALD THE THIRD! AND I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!" he unleashed another Flame wave. Learning from the last attack and dashed out of the way, the others weren't so lucky. Aeden took it like a champ, his armor was made for heavy damage and his shield had runes to protect him from magic. Neria was blasted away, her armor was made for fast movement and magic superiority, its dual reactor core was used for power amplification, this also effected its shield rune giving it extra protection, but it can't take to many of Uldred's attacks.

Uldred unleashed fire whips swinging them with wild abandon, Neria and I were doing a good job of dodging, while Aeden tanked them. I unleashed a full power Create Water spell fight into his body drenching him. Neria followed my attack with a frost spell of some kind because it froze him up to his chest. Aeden using that moment to rush him, plunging his blade to the hilt in his chest, but, be it the demon or some kind of mutation, Uldred roared again, breaking free, reigniting himself, and slapped Aeden away, sending him sprawling, his blade stuck in Uldred's chest.

Acting quickly I summon 3 steel golems to distract him as I helped Aeden to his feet.

"I lost my sword."

"I got you." I pulled out the Flaming Poisoning Raging sword of doom. This thing was ridiculous, It features a gigantic blade wreathed in flames with a crooked, oozing scorpion's stinger affixed to its point. Deals an extra 300 points of melee damage. I cannot emphasize how overpowered this sword is, just giving it to Aeden, a swordsman, is making me panic. If this sword 'taps' a normal person, they, will, die. And that only its melee damage you also have to add its fire damage and poisoning damage. It's 'Raging' effect overclocks Aeden's power strikes, makes him faster, immune to pain, and incorruptible. This is a crazy weapon in the hands of a scary man.

"How long have you had this?"

"Don't worry about it. Now, can you kill this fecker."

In the time Aeden and I talked, Ayla was able to exorcise the remaining mages with the help of the others. My golems, while durable, were no chance for Uldred's power. It was thanks to Ayla's holy power and Julee's arrow stabbing him in the eye that gave us the time for round two.

"Aeden, fair warning, that sword is super powerful, don't miss, and strike up, or you might destroy the entire tower if you don't." he brought up his new sword in an aggressive stance, but waited, he couldn't miss.

I reentered the fight drenching Uldred once again, but this time he was ready for the frost spell, bursting into flames weaking the ice spell that was heading his way. That moment of distraction allowed Alistair enough time to slash out the ligaments from the back of his right knee, forcing him to kneel. Uldred managed to bat him away. Jak unleashed a lightning cage trapping one of his arms to the ground. Allowing me to unleash a Haki infused Jeet Kune Do kick to the other causing a sickening crack. Aeden blitzed; sword held low. Ayla imbuing holy might on his way pass, Wynne and Elissa performed an overclocked barrier on him.

Uldred finding himself with the inability to move, on one leg, one broken arm, the other tide down, and missing the left side of his face. Began to gather breath, and unleashing it at Aeden hoping to stop him, only for it to intercepted by a powerful Frost breath courtesy from a mighty frost dragon by the name of Sky Skipper.

"NOOOOOO!"

Aeden swung towards the sky.

BOOM!

I couldn't see what happened, but I did see the after math. As the dust settled, I spotted Aeden, sword held high, and Uldred just kneeling there, looking at nothing.

"I just, wanted to, go home." he whispered, as he split in two. Holy shit. Anime kill.

"Woah." not only an anime kill, a one-piece anime kill. The roof was gone. "Damn." and the clouds were cut in half, showering us with moon light. I heard the tell- tell sounds of metal bumping against metal. The door down was busted open by a large number of templars and mages weapons at the ready. They froze looking at the damaged roof, to us, to Uldred's deformed body, and then back to us.

"What happened?"

After retrieving the flaming poisoning raging sort of doom from Aeden who looked like I took is only child, he and Alistair had to talk with Irving and Greagoir. As that was happening, I was copying every book in the library and collecting my golems. I wanted to have a library on mother base, purely for aesthetic purposes. I left a copy behind, so it's all ok. After I finishing my... stealing, I began walking down the stairs high five-ing some children going the opposite way to bed. I looked over my quest for the tower.

Quest: Climbing the stairway to heaven. Kinloch hold is under attack by demons and abominations. Help the mages and templars regain the tower if you want their help.

Rewards: 25 gold, 10,000 exp, 1 gold loot box, 1 gacha token, one random magic scroll, friendly with the circle of Ferelden.

I think I'll complete this when we leave.

"Nick?" I looked over spotting Neria, she was still in Morrigan's armor, using it as a disguise.

"So, I'm guessing you want a ride out of here?" she nodded. "Stay close. Pretend you're a golem." I began walking out of the tower, but before I got to the door, a templar at the door stopped me.

"Hold. I'm sorry to stop you, but the Knight-commander wanted us to make sure you don't leave with anything belonging to the tower."

"That fine, it's your job." I raised my arms over my head allowing him to pat me down.

"Thank you, and, uh..." he looked at Neria.

"Oh! Sorry, that's my golem." a wave of my hand to performing some prestidigitation making her head look like a stone carving. "It helps put people at ease, if it's not a huge steel machine." the templar just nodded awkwardly and let us pass.

Arrive back on mother base I found everyone, but Alistair and Aeden who were still in the tower.

"Must you bring everyone you meet to our base of operations?" Morrigan commented from her seat.

"Our base? I think it's my base, ya freeloader." she rolled her eyes. "Besides, she won't be here forever, only till we get back to Redcliffe. The people at the tower probably think she's dead so they won't have any reason to chase after her, she'll be a free woman."

Neria who was looking all over the house in what I could only imagine was awe, snapped to me.

"Unless."

"Unless." I repeated.

"Unless, Wynne told them what happened in the tower, and how I was cured." we were all quiet for a moment.

"Yeah... I guess you're right. Well better make yourself comfortable, cause if she did this is your only safe harbor. Fair warning, we're all crazy weirdos who plan to stop the blight."

She gave me a long look, before expelling a breath. Walked over to my Lazy Boy and falling face first.

"This is the most comfortable chair in the world."

I should make, just a massive number of lazy boys, and sell them for a ridiculous amount of money. I would copy them, but no copy is as good as the original, at least not until I reach Master rank in my Copy skill. All the books I copied in the tower boosted me up to intermediate, which allows me to make pretty good copies, but something would be wrong with them. The color or the size being off, nothing too serious, but someone with a keen eye can spot the difference right away.

I walked over to the control desk and started placing the coordinates to Redcliffe. Seeing as everyone was nodding off, I sent them off to bed. We can have a debriefing in the morning. Sky, Julee and Jak gave me a hug goodnight, well Sky tried to give me a deep, passionate, good night kiss. I let her kiss my cheek, she slobbered all over me. In the end it was only Neria and I in the living room, her, because she fell asleep and I, because I didn't have to. I walked into the kitchen, I ended up giving out a lot of food in the tower, and it's important to have some in case of emergencies.

It wasn't for another 4 hours before Mother Base pinged me that Aeden and Alistair where on their way up, with guests. Greeting Aeden and Alistair, who had the decency to have a sheepish look.

"So, what brings these two?" I pointed to Wynne and Elissa. "I was certain with how over protective you are Aeden, that you would never allow your sister to fight the blight. And Wynne, well, you're a grown ass woman so you can do whatever you wish, but I don't remember inviting you into my home."

"They wouldn't take no for an answer. And... I thought Mother Base would be the safest place to be." at least he was honest.

"And you?" Wynne looked me in the eyes.

"I wish to help stop the blight." and lied.

"You can help by getting the mages ready. Here. At the tower. Not on my ship."

"I thought I could help with the healing."

"I'm a better white mage than you. Unlike you I can cure the blight. Can you say the same? One last time Wynne. Why are you here?" there was only silence.

"I wish to learn your magic."

"Why?"

"Something, happened at the tower, before you arrived. I..."

"Was killed." I finished for her.

"How?" I finally removed my helmet, revealing my face. She and Elissa took a step back.

"Very little can escape my sight. Warlock."

"I don't know what that is."

"A warlock is a person who has made a deal with an extra planer entity. Not a god, but something powerful. You were probably helped by a spirit of compassion or hope. Giving you power to beat back death, not forever, but long enough for your body to come back to full strength."

"So will I die when the spirit leaves?"

"It has already left. Your contract was probably something to do with saving the tower. Now that it has been concluded the spirit has left, leaving you some of its power. A deal's a deal. Its power, for saving the tower."

"I see. But I still wish to come along. You may not need me but these two need a teacher." she pointed to Elissa, who was standing at attention, and Neria who was completely unconscious. "don't worry I didn't tell them about Neria. They would make her tranquil again."

"And Ayla would cure her again, and she would probably crush a few heads on the way in and out."

"Indeed."

"Aeden. You're the field commander, do you think she can help us?" he nodded.

"She proved herself at the tower, and with more mages helping the war effort people can get more comfortable with the idea that mages can help them and aren't monsters." the Chantry really knows how to pick their enemies.

"Very well. Welcome to mother base, Aeden can you please show them to an empty room. Neria can get one when she wakes up. I'll get Mother base on route to Redcliffe." I when over to the control deck while the rest when below deck.

Quest completed: Climbing the stairway to heaven. Kinloch hold is under attack by demons and abominations. Help the mages and templars regain the tower if you want their help.

Rewards: 25 gold, 10,000 exp, 1 gold loot box, 1 gacha token, one random magic scroll, friendly with the circle of Ferelden.

The Dwarves were next.

It took us a day to get back to Redcliffe, so we arrived with the rising sun at our heels. Aeden was able to give them the tour while I made breakfast, and began Sky's and Ayla's morning study. I learned Sky works best after a heavy breakfast and Ayla isn't an early riser, so it was best to start teaching after breakfast. They're already writing out full sentences, with minimal punctuation errors.

We landed on the lake next to the castle, but didn't enter the castle until the afternoon. Aeden and Alistair reported to Arl Eamon on the status of the mages with Wynne giving commentary. In the mean time I headed to the village with Ayla, Sky, Jak and Julee. Everyone else just hung around the castle, if they want to laze around in a castle, more power to them. I want to see what Thedas had instore for me.

Ayla played tour guide, showing us some of Redcliffe's more famous land marks, which weren't much. To be fair, this was a medieval time period were the most exciting thing you can do was raise cattle or be a serf. We did run into someone interesting.

Bodahn Feddic of the Merchant caste found Sandal when he was five years old while searching for ancient dwarven artifacts in a location past and below the Aeducan Thaig. Sandal was a young boy with hair pale like marble and clear blue eyes and no Blight could be seen in him. The boy was within a chamber that contained a glittering wall depicting ancient tales of heroes and Paragons. Elves, dwarves, dragons and other unknown creatures were also depicted, in a mosaic filled with gold and gems. When Bodahn asked Sandal what he was doing there, Sandal told him that "They're coming". A few moments later, the party heard darkspawn screeching and ran to survive. Even though Sandal was not alarmed, Bodahn picked him up and brought him to Orzammar, acting as his foster father ever since.

HE, CAN, SEE, YOU.

Well, ain't that some nightmare fuel.

"You, are outside looking in. No, you're outside coming in." he spoke. "You are of magic."

"Oh! Sandal please don't scare away the customers. Sorry about him. This is my boy, Sandal. He says some strange things from time to time, but doesn't mean anything bad by it." I smiled. Bodahn was one of my favorite characters, just a dad trying to provide for his son in a fecked up world.

"It's all good. I tend to say strange things from time to time as well." he smiled back at me.

"Good to meet you, Names Bodahn Feddic, and this is my son Sandal Feddic and we're, dwarf merchants!"

"Enchantments!" Bodahn laughed at his son's catchphrase.

"'tis a pleasure Mr. Feddic. My names Nick Walters. I'm a bit of a merchant myself. Well, haggler at best." he laughed.

"you'll get there, Orzammar wasn't made in a day. So, what can I help you with?"

"Just passing through, but it seems like some of us have found something they like." looking over I found Sky putting on a gold horn piece, Ayla and Jak were looking at a few blank journals and writing equipment, and Julee was talking Runes with Sandal. "let's talk business."

And so, we bargained back and forth until we came up with a reasonable price for everything. 20 gold, 59 silver, 10 copper. Shaking on it we split on good terms and the girls were carrying a bunch of new stuff, I offered to put everything in my inventory, but they wanted to carry their new things. Sky was decked out in fine gold and jewels, I guess the rumors of dragon's liking shiny things were true. Jak and Ayla had a stack of travel journals and writing equipment, they wanted to write very thing they did in journals to set the record straight when future generations look back at this moment and know the truth. They're probably make themselves look like the heroes. Julee looked like a stereotypical bandit; huge bag filled with runes. After learning that Sandal was some sort of runic savant, she had to have one of everything he ever made and what they did. Bodahn was rubbing his hands like a stereotypical banker, who just saw a sucker walk into his bank.

I guess the mystery that is sandal will be solved on another day, by someone else. That was a rabbit hole I would be happy to move around.

It wasn't for another two days until Cailin called and would be in Redcliffe within the end of the day, and that he would have company. That company happen to be a cranky bird hating golem and a cocky moral-less elf.

Great, it seems like the team is coming together.
