Chapter 12: Battle at the First High School

Air bullets could be heard crossing a courtyard of the first school. As he fired one wall of air bullet after another, the Messenger, as always, had his hair slicked back, and without a single hair tousled, he walked forward from the courtyard, his arms crossed behind his back.

An intruder put his fingers in his ring, but before he knew it, the projectiles that hit his chest caused him to fly and flip in the air.

The other members of Blanche screamed as they ran to attack him, with knives or batons, but others tried to flee before being swallowed by another wall of bullets. Blanche's limbs fell to the floor alive, broken bones and shock, but alive.

The subject of the ring tried to get up from the ground until the Colombian Anaconda kicked him in the back.

The Messenger stomped on his hand and twisted the sole of his shoe against the ground, as the man howled in pain. The brown oneI lean to removethe ring from your hand and put it in your pocket.

For his part, the poor devil looked up to see a cute, dark-skinned boy with light brown eyes that were cloudy, as if reflecting an empty space where his soul should be. If he hadn't been so terrified, he might have noticed the wound on his lip, thanks to, Kirihara Tadeaki, the sword boy.

"Did you expect anything else? I'll explain what you just saw: It's you who has to fight for your survival." The Courier continues to crush the fingers of the victim of him.

"Ah! I give up! Stop, I beg you!"

"Is that begging? I think you can do better."

The Messenger pulled him by the hair in the preamble to a spell that never activated.

He feels someone stop his hand before slowly turning around so that cloudy eyes meet blue eyes, dark and deep as a celestial wine. However, emotions were conspicuous by his absence. Regardless of that, the Messenger had no doubt that they were the eyes of a merciless and unscrupulous killer. Similar to him, but it wasn't him.

Hunger is coupled with the desire to eat.

Tatsuya remained without showing an expression or making another move until he said: "I don't know if you understand reasons, but you already took him out of combat, attacking him more would be a waste of psions."

"Fine. Sounds reasonable." The Messenger said before Tatsuya let go of his hand. The brunette turned to look at the sisters, standing behind him. "Speaking of rubbish, what are they doing there?"

"Watching your back." Alera said.

Again, the Messenger looked at Tatsuya.

"Um, he didn't seem like a threat." Marshka said.

At that moment, three students came running around the corner of the courtyard: Miyuki, Toni, and Godo.

After Tatsuya chased the Messenger out of the auditorium, Mayumi told Miyuki and Toni to placate the invaders from the practical skills room, and as usual, before they knew it, Godo had already invited himself over. .

"Reinforcements have arrived." Godo said.

"Du!? Y-You!?" Toni said in a broken voice as she looked at the unconscious guys lying all over the floor. "What are you doing here!?"

"Onii-sama." Miyuki stands near her brother. "What happened?"

Tatsuya looked at his sister. "Moreno-san and his friends." He turned to the Messenger. "I assume they helped defend the school from her?"

"It is a way of seeing it". Verona said. "We hope not to get in the way."

"By the way, didn't you see any more intruders?" Tatsuya asked.

"Their target is the library."

"Counselor Ono." Tatsuya called out to the woman.

The students turned to see Haruka Ono, one of the school counselors, she was a young woman, with a fringe that covered her entire forehead and ears; making her eyes look bigger than hers, dressed in black pants and jacket and a purple turtleneck sweater.

"That turtleneck doesn't match that cut." Marshka said.

"Who the hell are you?" Said the Messenger.

"That's not the proper way to address an adult." Haruka replied

"Sorry for the intrusive fashion comment." Marshall apologized.

"Anyway". Haruka got back to the point. "This attack was just a diversion. The real target is the library. Mibu-san is there too."

"Who the hell is Mibu?"Aleera communicated by telepathy.

Marshka responded. "I'm already confused by this story."

"He could explain everything to us once this is over." Tatsuya said.

"No, I refuse. I'd like to say that, but I don't think it's possible right now, right?" Haruka said. "But in return, I want you to do me a favor."

"Say it already." Said the Messenger.

"I ask as Haruka Ono, the school counselor." Compassion appeared in her eyes. "I would like you to give Mibu-san another chance. Since last year, she has been suffering from the difference between her position as a kendoka and her position as a class 2 student. I was not able to give her the necessary help. And in the end, I'm done with those people. That's why... "

"Why are you so eager to give him another chance to fail?" The Messenger said.

"You speak as if you have every right to judge people, Gabriel." Tony said.

"It's not me who proved to be a talentless, unsuccessful, treacherous weed." The Messenger replied. "I am also not the member of the public morals committee, with a false authority, who turned even whiter with fear, German."

"We'll discuss it another time." Verona pointed to the pitched battle he had by the library, behind the Messenger. "Now we have work to do."

Tony walked forward. Neither he nor the Messenger said anything when his shoulders collided with the other's. A few steps later, I pick up my pace until I run.

The Colombian looked at his back, with some contempt, for a few seconds before following him, along with Godo, Verona, Tatsuya and Miyuki.

"Quick, Alera." Marishka said as she followed them.

"I was never told that running was part of the deal." He told her before running after her sisters.

[~~~]

In the library garden, the members of Blanche and the students were in the middle of a pitched war: The intruders brandished their canes while the students defended themselves with their fists and a few with CAD.

The student with Thai features, Arthit Saetang, was a young man of 1.75 and not particularly corpulent, but when he roundhouse kicked one of the approaching terrorists to the liver, the unfortunate man felt a truck hit before he could. The air would be sucked out of him, his legs would not respond and he would fall to the ground to wallow in pain.

And the other one who came received a clean elbow to the jaw. The last achievement hit him with the cane. But Arthit covered his head with his arm, though even so, the blow didn't feel pleasant at all.

The Thai wrapped his hands around the assailant's neck to put him in his specialty: The Muay Thay clinch. And he nailed a couple of knees into her before seeing out of the corner of his eye another attacker heading for him. Arthit spun the guy into his clinch and pushed him forward to use as a human shield as he collided with the guy.

The three of them fell to the ground and Arthit wasted no time in continuing to attack. He had no training fighting on the ground, but anyone knows how to hit from above.

As the Thai struck, a member of Blanche brandished his cane above his head. However, before he could strike, he was hit by a block of ice created by the Ice Cube spell, knocking him to the ground.

When Enrique was happy about his spell, another man came up from behind and hit him with a cane, knocking him to the ground.

As the terrorist was going to hit the boy, he saw a very tall black student, Manfred Samujla, approaching them. As he brings his cane down to strike him, a bone claw erupted from the black's right fist and dug into his forearm. Before he could react, another claw shot out of his left hand to dig into his knee. Manfred kicked him to the ground.

At that time, the other foreigners and locals were arriving in the area.

"Holy God". The German stared at the battle.

"fucking shit." The Messenger looked at the sides exchanging blows of fists and batons. "Ha, now it does look like a prison riot."

"Party's over." Aleera took out a CAD in the form of a phone.

The device wasn't even close to the comfort of her Ring CAD, but Verona had anticipated that going to school alone wearing CADs that nominally don't exist would be hard to explain.

*Karmannyy Luch*

Aleera activated a spell to create an electrical current that miraculously traveled through the floor to only make contact with Blanche's limbs. They jerked and grunted before falling to the ground.

"Well, let's continue." The redhead said she before turning to see Toni's pale face. "Oh come on, they'll be fine, they'll just be lying around for a few minutes. So do you want to stay there or even go to the library?"

The students fell silent at the same time that the group of boys walked between them and the fallen guys. Manfred and Arthit looked at them with astonishment and intrigue while the rest of the students had admiration, respect, envy or, simply, fear in their eyes.

Aleera exhibited a pose of pride and self-sufficiency so elevated that it seemed that at any moment she would mock the terrorists by sticking her tongue out at them, like a spoiled child. "These guys were barking a lot until she muzzled them."

"Aleera, showing off like that is in bad taste." Verona said.

On the second floor of the library, while the group hid under a counter, they were greeted by a calm and silence similar to the one outside the library now.

At the same time that Tatsuya used Elemental Sight, Verona used Radar and Godo used Sound Map: a magic that allows him to hear all the little vibrations of the hidden people, through the lighter that trembled in Toni's pocket, to the German's heart. , which was by far the strongest of the eight beats.

"There are no traps, but there are two sentinels at the start of the trellises." Tatsuya said. "One at the bottom of the stairs and four in the special navigation room, including Mibu Sayaka."

"What are they doing there?" Tony said.

"They must be trying to steal information, from that room you can access classified material." Verona looked at the brunette sitting on the floor and leaning against the counter, in a nonchalant pose. "Anyway, now we have to coordinate to get to the room; we don't have time for contradictions."

"Okay, then, stick to the plan: You guys go up, I'll take care of the bottom ones." The Messenger said before leaning on his arm to jump off the counter and walk forward. "One, two and three for the guys hiding by the stairs."

The two subjects ran towards him while brandishing their batons. Each was hit by an air bullet before falling to the ground. Again, they were fairground ducklings.

At the bottom of the stairs, the last subject appeared. He wasn't a member of Blanche in black clothes, nor did he brandish a cane like the other two. He was a student, in a white uniform, and the sword in his hands gleamed as he threatened the undercover drug dealer.

"Don't you dare take another step!"

Tatsuya, without wasting time or his cold expression, activates his magic to go up to the second floor; followed by Miyuki and Godo. Toni hesitates for a few seconds until he chooses to follow his friend.

"Aaah!" The boy with a sword yelled as he headed for the attack.

An air bullet hit the side of the sword, knocking it out of his hands and breaking it in half.

Zaryazhennyye Molekuly *

The boy was pushed a few meters after being hit by a super charged particle to fall to the ground unconscious.

The Messenger turned back to see the triplets. "That was mine."

"You took too long." Verona said. "Besides, it's in bad taste to play with food."

"I'm not going to deny that you're right, but you sound like a nagging mother talking like that. This is a party for a guy like me anyway." The Messenger sat down on the first step of the stairs. "But on the other hand, I already helped more than I had planned. I hope they don't screw it up without me."

[~~~]

"I thought our goal was to achieve the abolition of discrimination based on magic... Why do we need documents on cutting-edge magical research?"Sayaka thought from the special navigation room. "Is this all a lie? A useless cry? I should have striven to achieve what I wanted with my own hands, my own power; as he said he did."

"Alright, we're in." Someone said as he downloaded the investigations into a data center that was on the table.

From the other side of the thick metal walls, the four students came into the room.

Tatsuya stopped near the steel gate. "Let's not waste time. The door is locked from the inside."

"It must be five or six inches of solid metal." Godo said. "Toni, do you think you can melt it? ... Toni."

"...Um, yeah." Toni replied, a disoriented expression on her pale face and cold sweat trickling down his face. "I-It won't be a problem."

The Nijukyooto put his hand in front of the German when he was going to pass forward. "Hey, you're not used to doing this kind of thing, are you, Brother."

Toni exhales through her mouth, in an expression halfway between sighing and laughing, before muttering "Do you?"

"...Toni, they didn't hesitate to attack a school and its students, with weapons. They will kill you if they get the chance, don't give them the chance." Godo patted him on the back. "Luck".

The Bavarian took a couple of steps on shaky legs before activating Bayerisches Feuer and turning into a skeleton covered in fire. Although he could still feel the pain, his caste's signature spell gave him some invulnerability, like when I received the Courier's air bullet, as long as he could keep the spell activated, not for nothing the Immortal Kruegers "in the fields of battles of the European wars.

In other words, he would be stuck as long as pain or anything else allowed him to keep his spell activated.

The doors turned bright red as Toni made a triangle with her hands to direct Microwave Molecules. It wasn't exactly a very emblematic spell of the Krüeger caste. But anyway, Mari and the other German classmates would testify under oath that Toni's magic had an affinity for anything to do with heating.

From the other side, a circle of glowing metal formed before the molten metal fell to the ground like a waterfall. Fortunately for Sayaka and the others, the metal returned to its normal temperature by the time it hit the ground. However, that was not her concern now. Standing in the middle of the room, Sayaka fell into a panic attack as he looked out, that within the circle of burning metal, surrounded by fire, the monster from his nightmares was visible at the same time that he saw her gaze return to him.

Eyes riveted to the door, one of Blanche's members drew a pistol, but didn't have time to fire before Toni flew at him using movement magic, knocking him into the wall.

"Mibu!" Another member of Blanche threw a smoke grenade. "! Use the ring!"

Immediately, waves of interference came out of the ring on Sayaka's trembling hand.

The Bavarian could not keep Bayerisches Feuer activated while the waves reached him and the Japanese: Tatsuya, Miyuki and Godo.

Between the shock and the smoke, the two guys went to attack him brandishing their batons.

Toni saw the guys get to him before the smoke covered the entire room. And instinctively he kicked forward, sending one of the subjects flying as she hit the ground hard to keep from getting up.

Fear or no fear, Toni was still a 6-foot-1 guy and that's how he hit.

On the other hand, the remaining attacker went on the attack until his foot was swept away and he fell backwards until he violently collided with the data center.

Godo was located only using the sense of hearing, until here and now, when he grabbed the hand where the remaining member of Blanche had his cane and with his other hand he gave a crude blow to the subject so that he fell to the floor unconscious.

In these few seconds, a pale Sayaka ran terrified across the solidified metal on the floor. She no longer cared that she had broken the laws, her fight against decline or remorse and internal conflict for having pulled the school; the only thing she had in mind was her survival and escaping from her, from Toni. That she perceived him as a hellish monster.

As Sayaka left the room, Miyuki aimed at her to make her the target of her next spell,

Tatsuya said with his dry voice. "Don't do it, Miyuki."

"Onii-sama?" Miyuki replied.

"He's not going to escape." Tatsuya's voice remained dry. "And besides, you could have a problem with poor visibility."

For his part, Godo compressed all the dust particles before freezing them into two spheres the size of two marbles.

And he gave the German a couple of pats on the back. "Big boy, you did good."

Toni barely had time to expel a gasp of air through her mouth again.

[~~~]

Sayaka was running in terror through the corridors of the second floor of the library to reach the stairs. In her haste and terror, she didn't look to see if anyone else was there, and she didn't pay enough attention to go down the stairs either. As she took the first step, her foot slipped and her body fell, hitting her head with a crash. She was too stunned to cover herself with her hands as she rolled down slamming her face, thighs, and hips against each stair.

The Messenger had been sitting on the first step talking, with the sisters talking about any trivial matter with each other until he heard Sayaka approaching and then saw her roll down the stairs to a stop a few steps from where he was.

"Is she Mibu?" Marishka looked at the fallen swordswoman. "She's Japanese, but she's cute. I imagined her smaller."

"You don't know what trouble you've gotten yourself into." The Messenger looked at her with her apathetic face. "You are a very pathetic and unlucky girl."

Sayaka heard it before everything went blurry and she lost consciousness.

The brunet glanced up the other side of the stairs to see Godo, Tatsuya, and Miyuki looking down at him.

[~~~]

When they finished stopping the library intruders, Toni, Miyuki, and Tatsuya reported to Mayumi, but not before requesting medical assistance for Sayaka.

Sawaki and Tatsumi captured Kimoe Tsukasa when he was trying to escape from the school.

On the other hand, Mari and the other members of the committee stopped the rest of the chaos in the facility. The arrested members of Blanche were placed under surveillance in the auditorium. At this time of afternoon, a melee of reporters formed at the front door.

Some shoes slid discreetly and stealthily across the floor, like a snake going to its goal: sneaking into the infirmary was quite easy. He just had to walk out the door and there weren't even members of the public morals committee to stand guard. She guessed they didn't have members available or that Mari didn't see a need to put them on.

It wouldn't be the first or the second time the Messenger has tortured someone for information. Using magic, it is very easy to do so without making noise or leaving visible marks, though the latter would not be the Courier's intention.

I slide the curtains on the window, just leaving a gap that was too small for someone else to see what was going on in the room from outside. Through that small crack filtered the only light in the room: a yellow glow of the same color as the one seen in the sky. Currently, we are in the late afternoon hours.

He walked until he was in front of the bed where Sayaka slept, with some bandages on her head and other bandages.

The brunette stopped for a few seconds to see that on the pillow of the bed, there was a paper figure that was folded to have the shape of a horse, a little poorly done. After realizing that it was an ordinary piece of paper, the Courier took out a small bottle of bath salts from his trench coat. He put some into his hand before resting it against the sleeping swordswoman's nose.

Immediately, the sleeping Sayaka frowned before waking up.

The first thing he saw was the face of the boy with the milky brown skin.

"You and your friends have made a big mess." The Messenger said. "Luckily, it was a really fun mess."

Sayaka wasn't listening to the Messenger's words, she was processing everything that happened before she fell unconscious. She felt the burning in her eyes as guilt and shame began to flow.

Her expression twisted and she began to cry before letting out shrill sobs. "You were right about everything you said, Gabriel! I'm sorry! I'm a loser!" Sayaka tried to cover her tears in the brunette's trench coat.

"Ah, yes. Yes, I'm always right." The Messenger placed her hand on her forehead to keep a distance from her. "But if you're really sorry you're going to tell everything you know about your friends. Where are they?"

[~~~]

Mari headed to the infirmary, accompanied by Toni, Tatsuya, Mayumi, and Katsuto Jumonji.

When she turned the last corner, she found Verona, Aleera, Marishka and Godo hovering near the door of Sayaka's room.

"What are you doing here?" Mari addressed the handful of boys.

"We were worried about Sayaka, so we came to see her, just like Gabriel." Verona answered.

Mari ignored the brunette and hurried into the infirmary, where the Messenger hoped they would arrive sooner or later.

"I'm glad you're here. I have something to tell you." The Messenger raised the piece of paper in the shape of a quadruped. "What is this thing?"

"T-That's a unicorn." Toni explained sheepishly.

"R-really?" Sayaka asked the boy that hours he had seen as a monster just a few hours ago.

"I thought you might like it. My mom once made me throw up in elementary school…" Toni replied

"It sucks, white boy." The Messenger said.

"Okay, yes." Tony said. "It's bullshit".

"Let's go somewhere else." The Messenger left the infirmary. "There's something we need to talk about, big kids."

Mari motioned for Toni, Tatsuya and Miyuki to wait by the door while she, Mayumi and Katsuto went to the other side of the hall.

"You guys don't seem like the kind of people to turn a student over to the police." The Messenger said. "The German knows that they did not do it for attempted murder and the boy with the sword knows that they did not do it for attempted murder with sharp weapons either..."

"And where do you want to go with that?, Moreno", Mari said.

"I want to go that they should report all of this to the police." The Messenger said. "But if they haven't done it yet, it's because they wouldn't want that girl's record to be tainted for life by a silly mistake, even though they can't leave things as they are either."

Mary answered. 'That girl'. Do you want to know her name? "

"I didn't expect you to say that." Mayumi puts a finger to her lower lip. "What is it you propose?"

"I take care of this, without police." The Messenger said. "And he stays between us."

Mayumi said, "That goes far beyond the duty of a student."

Mari refused to trust the person much more than the idea. "Especially, to a student like you."

"I don't doubt your ability to defend yourself by hurting people." Katsuto asked. "But what is your motivation for proposing this in the first place, Moreno-san?"

"I know, that for you, I'm a problem boy; I can't deny it. I wish this wasn't my school and those my classmates." The Messenger pointed to his classmates and Tatsuya from across the hall. "But this is my school and those are my classmates. And I'm not going to let anyone else make a mess of this school, just me."

Katsuto crossed his thick arms. "It is too light a reason for me to risk my life for her."

"It's not always. I look at those over there." The Messenger said. "Miyuki would fight for Tatsuya, Tatsuya would fight for her sister, the same probably for the white girls and the fake blond cop, he was drenched in cold sweats from fear, but he went out to fight for the stupid reason of doing his duty as a member of the public morals committee..."

"Wait," Mari said, "He did that?"

"People like him have the same motivation or would rather risk your life for being born into one of the 'ten master clans' as the dyed-hair class clown. Sounds stupid to me." The Messenger said,

Katsuto cast his piercing gaze on the problem boy from Colombia for a few seconds before saying.

"'Mibu-san told you where Blanche's lair was?"

The Courier pulled his data center out of his trench coat to project a small map of a portion of the city.

"Here, in an abandoned paint factory."

"It's an hour away." Katsuto said, "I'll go get the car ready."

"Are you going too, jumonji-san?" Mayumi clenched her small fists before bringing them up to her chest.

Katsuto said: "Yes, it is my duty,"

"Then ..."

Mari interrupted Mayumi. "You can't go, Saegusa. It wouldn't be good if the student council president was absent in this situation."

"I understand... But then you can't go either, Mari." Mayumi pointed her index finger at her friend before placing her hands on her hips, "We don't know if there are still any intruders hiding in the school. And we'd be in trouble if I didn't put the head of the public morals committee available".

"Well, you already have enough volunteers anyway." The Messenger looked across the hall to the other first year students.

While Katsuto had a short chat with the other boys, the Messenger started to walk out of the infirmary to go nowhere in particular.

"It seems that Mibu has too much confidence in you to tell you all that," Mari said,

The Messenger turned over his shoulder. "More than you, for sure."

"Sorry?" Mari asked, "What do you mean?"

"The girl already told me how you are. It is not my intention to reconcile with you." The Messenger replied. "But, we have something in common, I don't like to waste my time with weeds either."

El Moreno continued on his way, turning his back on Mari, who clenched her fists and once again growled with anger inside her mind thanks to the Messenger.

[~~~]

In the school parking lot, Katsuto was facing a large car, with thick armor, a flat hood, and a large bumper up front.

"President!"

Katsuto turned to see Kirihara running while holding his sheathed sword in his hand,

The boy with the sword stopped in front. "Let me go with you!"

"Why Kirihara?" Katsuto said.

"Because as a first high school student, I can't overlook such a fact!" Kirahara gripped the hilt of his sword.

Katsuto cast his piercing gaze on him for a few seconds before saying. "That's no use to me. I won't get to you."

Kirihara said, "President!"

"It's too light a reason to risk my life for her." Katsuto crossed his arms. "I'll ask you again: why?"

"I've admired Mibu's kendo since we were in high school. Unlike my sword which is only good for killing, hers is refined for competition." Kirihara said. "I always thought she was beautiful. But suddenly her sword got stained." She tightened her grip on the handle. "She couldn't take it."

"Is that why you challenged her that day?"

"No, I did it to make him realize his mistake!"

"You say it was a mistake, but wasn't that what Mibu wanted?"

"That's not true! That's not the sword Mibu aspires to. They corrupted it. It was clear someone had used it! I'm not doing this for Mibu's sake, I'm doing it to vent my anger." Kirihara bowed low. "Please! President, take me with you!"

Kirahara waited for the answer for a moment that seemed eternal,

"In agreement". Katsuto said.

"President!"

Katsuto's expression softened a bit. "That's reason enough to risk your life as a man."

Kirihara bowed again. "Thank you!"

Toni Krüeger was at the door of the parking lot as she thought, her head looking at the floor.

"What the hell did I just get myself into. If mom knew this, she'd be hysterical..."

The poor cowardly kid had felt a lot of unease for today, but before he knew it, he had volunteered to confront Blanche's members in their lair.

"You look very focused." Mari snapped him out of her thoughts. "What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing. I just..."

His last conversation with Mari flashed through his mind. "Technically, am I still a member of the public morals committee? Should I get out now? Is Mari going to fire me after this is over?"

"I wanted to say ..."They both said.

After a few seconds. "About the…" The two fell back in sync.

"About what happened in the auditorium," Toni said, "There's something I wanted to tell you..."

Mari asked, "What is it?"

Toni said, "Um, I better tell you when I get back."
