45. Update

After careful decision, I've decided to rewrite New Frontiers. I'll try and lay out the reasons, and I hope you'll understand why:

-The Sinnoh side of the fic overshadowed the PMD side by a huge margin. I'm not sure how many of you preferred the interactions of March, Chrome, Ari, and their friends, but while writing and in feedback, it became clear to me that Pyrose, Verdant, and Lucas were simply much more interesting, and I'm going to try and spruce up the PMD side of things in the rewrite.

-The two sides of the fic were far too disconnected. This one was obvious, and no matter how many times I tried to slot in Xtransceiver calls, it wasn't enough. I'm going to try and do better in the rewrite, and hopefully add in more moment that would connect the two worlds.

-Chrome and March are bland characters. Fairly self-explanatory. I'm not sure how well I'll be able to fix this issue, but I'll try my best.

-Oversaturation of dungeon exploration. It was boring to write, and it's pretty boring to read. I'll try and cut down on them in the rewrite.

The rewrite won't change the general plot of the fic, and several key events will remain the same. It won't be a completely different story. But certain events will be altered, and the characters will be far more connected, especially between Team Pokepals and Pyrose/Verdant, and maybe even Lucas and March. These groups never had a chance to really connect at all in the current iteration of the story, and I hope to change that. Of the major events, I'll mostly be altering the Expedition arc, and touch up on the prose in the earlier chapters.

I will leave the current 40+ chapters up for anyone to read if they want to do so. In the future, however, I will replace them. The process will likely be long, but I hope you'll bear with me. In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled! A new frontier is on the horizon.
