An: Hello everyone, long time no see, I'm so sorry for having not updated the fic believe me I did want to! The reason why I haven't is that my mental health hasn't been very good, I suffer from Ocd that is really bad and is super exhausting my Ocd is around germs and contamination and makes it soI can hardly leave the house, mix that with me also not feeling well physically I just haven't had the energy to write

Again I am very sorry. I didn't mean for that to sound like a pity party; I just thought you all had the right to know why I haven't updated the fic in a while. Anyway enough about me, I hope you all enjoy this chapter. This might be possibly my favourite one yet and officially the longest chapter yet, the plot is thickening…..

"Are you sure this is what you want? What lies below will surely be beyond anything you've ever seen before, trust me little Godling of the divine blood that places no matter how it might look is still full of creatures who would eat you whole without a second hesitation." The old man stated in an informative voice.

Only a few days had passed but in that short time the old man had taken quite a liking to the young child, while everything was seemingly normal at that moment ignoring the talk of gods and the home of beings beyond human comprehension, Milo noticed something strange about the old man's words.

'He spoke as if warning me from experience, something that by all means should be impossible, The Old Man even said "mere humans" couldn't venture below (or was it to the side as well?) so how could he possibly know?'

"You talk like you know from experience, about that place, about below us how can you know such things?" Milo said in a tone holding barely concealed suspicion, in the time since arriving in Remnant, he had figured the people that were after him and Millicent lost them as there had been no attempt on his life since, but there was still a chance he just hadn't spotted them yet.

As Milo thought about Millicent he couldn't help the wave of anguish flowing through his body, the word Millicent brought a sharp pain to the centre of his chest like a sword being slowly twisted, the pain it brought was not physical but it hurt as much as any flesh wound the anguish was like being drowned in a deep black chaotic ocean, consuming piece by piece though there was no water in sight.

The old man hesitated before speaking "there was one piece of that story I didn't tell you how I came to this land, this world, many years ago I came across a structure like this a place that was forbidden by Amaterasu." As he was about to continue, Milo interrupted him.

"Amaterasu? Who's that, you seem to hold them in high esteem?" Milo asked, confused.

"Amaterasu-ōmikami is the great goddess of the sun, the embodiment of the rising sun of my homeland and the ruler of the heavenly realm, born from her father Izanagi bathing in the sea and purifying himself from his encounter with Izanami in Yomi along with her 2 other siblings, the sun goddess Amaterasu was brought into being from his left eye, the moon god Tsukuyomi was brought into being from his right eye, Susanoo the storm god was brought into being from his nose!" The old man explained in an informative manner.

"I've always wondered how I was born, I guess I might Have been born similarly?" Milo said with a confused expression on his face.

"I'm afraid I do not have the answer to your question Godling." The old man responded before continuing his tale.

"Amaterasu's wisdom and genuine care made it hard for anyone to disagree with her decision, that was until I still young and naive wanted, no needed to prove to my father that I was worthy of our family name, worthy of his love, so I sought a challenge after hearing of this forbidden mountain I knew that whatever could instil fear or was it uncertainty into the gods was a worthy challenge, so I sought the entrance to this forbidden place and once I entered the land to the side I soon realised how foolish I was." The old man's voice cracked in obvious regret before continuing.

"As soon as I stepped into this new world, I felt this horrible feeling inside my chest as if I was decaying by the minute I lasted an hour at most after that, as I was about to die lying in some damp dreary cave a voice called out to me pulsing within my skull, it introduced itself as the fire God Kagutsuchi he explained how his father beheaded him and then cut his body into eight pieces that formed into eight mountains, although there was something his father didn't account for, because of Kagutsuchi's body being turned into mountains he gained a.. certain connection with the ground beneath us all he attained the ability sense and project his image through the multiple worlds, then he found me. Kagasuchi offered to help me, to heal me, in exchange he would transfer a piece of his essence into me so he could feel again even I it was through a vessel, I accepted feeling pity for the fire God and fell into the unconscious, when I awoke next I was situated on this very mountain with me was the formless fire God still bouncing inside my skull, it told me off my heritage, who my family were descended from, how I survived even if only for but a short amount time I'm only very and I mean very diluted divine blood making me the perfect candidate for Kagutsuchi's plans."

"He left me for a time, as I adjusted I realised I could make a difference in this world that felt like a remnant of what once was, everyone focused on the Grimm leaving only the scraps of their forces to deal with the enemies within the walls of their cities, so with the power and control over fire granted by Kagutsuchi's essence, I fought and killed those who tried and desired to harm humanity. year's passed and in that time I met Layla. It started as a friendship but then it slowly became something more, It wasn't long after that I had fallen head over heels for her. It took some time but eventually, I told her and I was lucky that she felt the same way." The old man said letting out a soft chuckle with a nostalgic smile on his face.

"You know you remind me a lot of her except you're not a girl unless….. You are one in disguise?" He said lifting an eyebrow while Milo gave him a look that basically said "what the fuck".

"Not to my knowledge?" Milo said in an uncertain tone.

'Oh no, oh no what if I am a girl I mean Old man over here said gods can be born of objects who's to say gender works the same way as humans!' Milo said, panicking in his head.

"Calm down young Godling, the chances of you not being your current gender is very highly unlikely, you would know about it if you were a female." spoke the old man, when he saw Milo calm down he continued his tale.

"Eventually Layla became pregnant, I was so happy when I found out, so happy. Around 6 months into her pregnancy, I made my way to the back ends of Vale there I encountered at least 20 thugs, they were easy enough to get rid of but the aftermath is where the bad part began. You see when I first inherited some of Kagutsuchi's essence I gained power but unknown to me he didn't do this to just do this out of the want to feel again, no he wanted me to go to a world devoid of gods and spread his influence, Kagutsuchi slowly but surely kept driving me further and further into bloodlust until I merely became his puppet driven by the wan to bathe in the blood of man, every time I killed someone or something I would transmit a kind of infection into them, this forced their corpses to his battles, Kagustuchi made them into mere puppets pulling the strings on their soulless corpses, they are what is know as a hive mind. I was a part of this hive mind until I broke free but, when I opened my eyes I was in the middle of a burning down house holding a blade that was piercing through the stomach of my Layla, I didn't mean to hurt Layla I promise, the child he or she… died with her I miss them every day all the time." The old man said with tears in his eyes.

"If I'm being honest when I first saw you I couldn't help but think of Kagasutchi, but I had to remind myself that you were a child and not all gods or in your case Godling are evil, like Amaterasu I'm am very happy I gave you a chance your not like him at all." The old man said with a slight smile though the guilt was now fully visible in his eyes, throughout the old man's tale they had eventually sat down on some logs to rest their legs.

"you know it's not your fault? You didn't ask for the death of your Layla or your child neither the other innocents who died, you were manipulated, you just wanted to help someone who in your eyes was just like you, alone but Kagastuchi used your want to help people for his own plans. He is the real villain not you, Kagastuchi is the villain he killed your family and those innocents!" Said Milo trying to convince the old man that he did nothing wrong.

For a second the old man stilted in shock before a small smile spread across his face.

"I guess your words do hold some truth, thank you I've been wanting to hear those words for a long time." Spoke the old man gratefully.

"It's no problem just telling you how it is!" Milo said with a smile.

"Let's go inside, you need some rest before you leave for the bellow tomorrow." The old man said before standing up and walking inside, Milo and his little orange moths/butterflies were quick to follow.

\_~The Next Day~_/

"This way." The old man said, leading Milo behind his home and through a tight stone passageway.

What stood in front of Milo was beyond anything he'd ever seen. Inside there was a massive circle filled to the brim with some black substance, if Milo had any words to describe it he would say it was like looking into the void itself.

"Welcome to the world between, where those who try to cross below not of divine blood are caught and enslaved for all eternity guarding the passageway." just as the old man finished two figures sprung out of the void, they possessed black humanoid bodies but instead of legs the dark surrounding them continued down like a cloak where the feat should have been, their faces were human-like if you don't count the missing nose, mouth and ears their eyes a strange black that was infinitely darker than the rest of their body.

"Oh here some come now." The old man explained to Milo.

After seeing them Milo drew his blade, the moths and butterflies grew in numbers as they swarmed around him, not too many though as they would block his line of sight if there were more.

"Oh, they mean no harm little Godling they are friends they only attack when there is no divine blood present." The old man said with a smile, before pointing towards the proclaimed world between.

"That is your way to what you seek, be careful." The old man said with a smile.

"I guess this is goodbye for now, if I don't make it out of here I want you to know you make some damn good coffee!" Milo said before letting himself be swallowed by the void.

"Oh we will meet again, little Godling, oh we will try not to drown." The old man chuckled before heading back out of the ominous room.

\_~The world between~_/

As soon soon as Milo plunged himself into the depths of the void, he was met with utter silence not a single thing only nothingness until he started hearing things, no feeling things, as he continued to fall further and further down the humanoid, not so humans started to come into view these ones strangely these ones were still covered in the inky substance but had,,, legs? This new kind perplexed Milo until he thought of something maybe they were newly captured, maybe they hadn't submitted yet.

As Milos's thoughts ran out of control, he was jolted back to reality in his time inside his thoughts the void people's feelings had hit a new level, Milo knew they weren't his feeling, he knew they were the void people's feelings reaching out to him, as sad as a sight it was to see what worried Milo more was what their shared feeling actually was.

Fear, while fear would have been normal if it was towards the void around them, it wasn't directed at the surroundings. No, it was aimed at something…

It was at that moment that Milo fell through the void and into the world below.

\_~The World Below~_/

As Milo fell he couldn't help but remember the fear that the void people had felt, that line of thought was quickly shoved away as he landed on the top of a mountain and laid his eyes upon the world below.

It was a beautiful and terrifying sight, the sky was painted a shade of orange with no sun in sight, occupying the sky were thousands upon thousands of vibrant stars scattered across the world it was like looking at the night sky except though there was no moon and finally the lighting, dark blue lighting darted randomly across the sky.

The only way to describe it would be order within chaos, this applied to the rest of the world everything was both hot and cold leaving a mild temperature, chaotic harmony this was how life was meant to be all along, two broken halves of the same coin joined back together to be whole once more.

"It's beautiful." Milo said in awe before his stomach started to ache in hunger.

"I need food, why didn't I have any before I left?" Milo asked himself in confusion before heading through the dense jungle like foliage.

As Milo kept walking he came across a multitude of berries none of them looked edible though, eventually he got lucky and found a Big bush of blue coloured berries.

Plucking one of the bush Milo started examining it and the bush.

"There's no spikes, the berries don't smell bitter and there aren't any milky substances coming out of the branches. There are no white, yellow or green on the berries they should be safe, I guess there's only one way to find out." Milo said before plopping the berrie into his mouth.

After the berry caused no irritation Milo started eating as many as humanly or godly as possible.

'While it's nice to have found food I'll search just a bit longer for some kind of river or water supply.' Milo thought in his head before venturing to the right, luck seemed to be one his side once again as only five minutes later Milo was ankle deep in a stream.

Milo smiled a genuine smile as he looked upon the stream, that smile turned into confusion because located in the middle of the stream was an egg?

The egg was a dark purple in colour with a smooth surface in an oval shape and most strange of all Milo felt a certain Kinship with this egg, why he felt that way he didn't know but leaving it was out of the question so Milo trudged through the clear water and picked up the strange egg.

"What are you? And why do you feel like home?" Milo asked the egg in slight disbelief and confusion, something that has happened a lot lately.

Decided not to question it any further, Milo, happy he had found a water source, took a quick drink before heading back to the berries.

With the berry's in hand Milo grabbed onto the nearest tree and started climbing, after all it would be best to have high ground should something attack.

Once he was at the top Milo gazed upon what he supposed was this worlds night sky, instead of the orange that used to occupy the sky it was not a deep blue with lines of purple, the once bright white stars were now a bright orange, the lighting that danced across the sky was strangely not present.

As his head lay against the bark of the tree Milo felt his eyes grow heavy, it wasn't long after that he entered a deep sleep.

And through the rest of the night Milo kept his strong steady grip onto the strange egg.

It felt like Kinship, like family so it had to be and whether Milo wanted to admit it or not he needed it to be.

When this line of thought occurred

the egg twitched…
