Groaning I hold my pounding head. I open my eyes slowly and cringe at the bright light. Sitting up slowly I look at my surroundings. I'm in a meadow of some sort. Gasping I scramble to my feet as I see a figure approach me. A beautiful young woman with flowing black hair and kind brown eyes. Before she was even close, I knew in my spirit that this was Aiyana. The original Jacobs imprint that was killed when he chose Mora over her.

My eyes filling with tears I already know what this met. Jacob had fully denied me of course the ancestors would see that as a spit in the face and punish him. Not that he would even care that I died. I feel a sob rising as I think about Embry, he didn't deserve this. He's going to be heartbroken. I tried so hard to stay away from him and work on the imprint. Squeezing my eyes shut I wipe away the tears before opening them again.

Aiyana is now in front of me smiling sadly.

"Nicole, we have been watching you. We know that you fought with everything that you had. I am sorry that it must end like this."

She grabs my hand and squeezes.

I nod with fresh tears in my eyes trying to swallow a sob that is sure to come out soon.

"The ancestors are to be respected not understood. When I heard your story, I knew that this could be my fate one day. I practically felt it every time Jacob was harsh, every time he chose her over me, and every rejection he put me through."

She nods sadly again and gestures me to walk with her.

"I would like to tell you a little bit more of my story if that is okay. The moment I saw Jacob my soul called out for him. I knew that we were connected. He was too blinded by his own wants and desires to see that. When that cold one offered me a better life, I knew there would be nothing better then spending my life with Jacob. What they don't tell you in the story is the ancestors came to me as well."

My head shot up in surprise.

"Really? I will be honest I did not think your death was very fair."

She laughed and again reached out to squeeze my hand.

"The ancestors came to me in a dream. They offered me the chance to break the bond. They knew that Mora was not meant for Jacob or any of the spirit guardians, her soul did not have good intent. She only wanted power and money. Marrying the chief of the tribe would provide her with both."

"Im not going to lie that sounds like my sister. All she wants is attention and for everyone and everything to be about her."

"I denied the ancestors offer. If Jacob did not choose me, I chose to accept the consequences. I knew exactly what I was putting myself through."

"Do you regret it?"

We stop walking and she looks up to the sky and smiles.

"I knew Jacob did not love me. Not like I loved him. He was the only one I ever wanted. Towards the end he came to see the mistake he made, and I waited for him to join me here. I have no regrets."

I smile and gasp at the man would looks like an older Jake walk up to us. He smiles and looks at Aiyana with so much love but I also see the guilt.

"I'm happy that you ended up with your happy ending you really deserved it."

They both turn to me and smile.

"Like I said Nicole we have been watching you. Tell us this do you have any regrets?"

"I regret that I let myself get so close to Embry. He is going to be devastated or is already devastated. Time runs funny here."

"Embry? What about Jacob?"

I looked up into the other Jacobs eyes and sighed.

"I regret that our whole friendship was a lie. The events that took place, I never really had control over. I tried so hard to fight for the imprint. I do not regret the imprint breaking in the end. I whole heartly believe that Jacob wont even bat an eye at my death. He is not like you. He never even tried to ease the bond only tear it apart."

I take a deep breath.

"Every scar, every insult, and every betrayal only pushed me further and further away. I wished and I prayed to the ancestors for guidance on what I can do to help but nothing mattered. Jacob already made his mind and heart up and it had no room for me."

They looked at each other and nodded.

"We stopped again and this time both of them looked serious."

"Nicole just like the both of us you are going to be presented with a choice."

My heart started to beat fast as Aiyana said this.

"The imprint has been broken. Jacob has denied the bond with you fully and wholeheartedly."

Older Jacob announced.

"You can choose to cement the broken bond. This means that Jacob will never be granted this gift again. You can choose to reinstate the bond. This will be a little more difficult and if Jacob chooses to break the bond again you will die."

"Its kind of a no brainer if I am being honest. Jacob does not deserve the gift the ancestors gave him. Although who am I to say that. I do not want to anger anyone."

I say softly. They both chuckle.

"Sweetie that has been the consensus up here already. Even Sarah Black has rebuked the gift."

Before I could speak another voice joined the two. Smiling as Sarah walked up to us and gave me a hug.

"There is one more choice Nicole. The ancestors would like to have another wolf bond with you. We believe that you both deserve it."

My heart started racing again. I knew who I wanted it to be, but I couldn't dare hope. Before I could speak, she said.

"I can not tell you who. We know that you were dealt a crappy hand and we would like to make it up to you. You have been trusting in us since finding out about us. We would like for you to trust in us once more."

"I will trust in my ancestors. In my heart I know that you want the best for me. I do however have two requests if I could."

"What is that child?"

"I would like Jacob to be able to remain a spirit guardian."

They all looked at me shocked.

"He might have been a bad imprint, but he is a great protector of La Push. He fights hard and will give his life to save his people."

They all smile and nod.

"Very well he may remain as he was but know this, Nicole. The ancestors will not grant him another gift. He is free to seek out whomever he wants."

"What is your other request?"

"Can you please gift Leah Clearwater, she deserves it. I know she is always kind of a jerk to me, but heartbreak does crazy things to people."

They smile even brighter at that.

"Granted. Your selflessness will be rewarded Nicole. Just open your eyes."

I didn't even realize I closed my eyes while she was talking.

Snapping my eyes open I gasp as I am looking into Embry's kind and worried eyes."

"How is this possible?"

He muttered and the rush of feelings flooded back into me as I felt our bond cement.

"The ancestors granted you a gift. I hope that I am not a disappointment."

I whisper as he smiles widely before grabbing me and spinning me in circles.

The commotion of our laughter drew out the others.

"What is going on?"

Sam's voice cut through the crowd as the parted for him to stop in front of us.

"My bond with Jacob is broken and Embry has imprinted on me."

"What!"

Everyone started to yell over the other. I was still to elated to care. Looking into Embry's eyes I knew that he was my forever.
