"The sun is shining, no dinosaurs are chasing us and most importantly breakfast is served. Feels weird to have nothing to worry about for once." Sammy says as the group is getting breakfast.
"Yeah definitely. I myself am very relaxed." Darius says as he and Alexis are getting food.
"Same here. I'm very relaxed and calm." Alexis says nervously as Darius looks at her.
"You're not though right?" Darius asks quietly.
" I wanna trust Kenji's dad. I really do but... something doesn't feel right. I just have a feeling. But I don't wanna ruin anything for Kenji just from a feeling." Alexis says as she looks down.
"No but what if it turns out we're right?" Darius asks as Alexis gives a worried look.
"Why so doom and gloom in here bro and girlf?" A voice asks revealing to be Kenji.
"Kenji!" Darius says as he smiles.
"Morning!" Alexis says happily.
"That's the spirit. Man am I pumped for today? Dad actually wants my help." Kenji says as he grabs some plates full of food.
"That's wonderful Kenji. It truly is. So has he mentioned anything about when we get to call home or anything like that?" Alexis asks as she follows Kenji to the table.
"Well you heard him. He just needs a few days to arrange everything safely. Plus he's super focused on the presentation right now. You get it." Kenji says.
"Right! So since you brought it up now that dino fights are off the table what exactly is he presenting?" Darius asks as he comes over.
"I'm sure he's doing something super cool using Mae's communication. We really got through to him. In fact he even asked me to prep for the investor cocktail party. He said and I quote I'd rather you do it than those stupid robots." Kenji says.
"Wow. That sounds like a lot of work though. Would you guys like a paw?" Alexis asks.
"Oh sorry Ally. Dad's gotta get to know you before he'll trust you with an important assignment like this. It has taken me a long time. But after I'm done maybe we could hang out. Just the two of us." Kenji says as he smiles.
"You mean like a date?" Alexis asks.
"Yeah. Our first real date." Kenji says as he smiles before Alexis smiles.
"Sounds amazing. But I'm happy long as I'm with you." Alexis says as she smiles before Kenji kisses her making her blush.
"Perfect. I'll set everything up for my dad and then... meet you here at sundown." Kenji says as he runs off.
"Wow. You know Kenji's really happy when he's that excited to do work." Darius says.
"Yeah. I know. But what if Mr. Kon gave him busy work so he could be free to do something shady? I'm worried and my feelings like this are usually never wrong." Alexis says.
"Then let's find out. Just us. Super low-key style for Kenji's sake." Farius says.
"Ben: Totally. I just saw Mr. Kon head into the jungle. I'll grab Firecracker and low-key show you which way he went. Follow me." A voice says revealing to be Ben as he is eating a donut before walking off as Alexis and Darius look at each other.
*Timeskip*
"Mae! What are you doing over here?" Ben asks as the group finds Mae by a building.
"I... I'm quite busy. I can't talk right now." Mae says nervously.
"That's okay. We're just looking for-" Ben then gets cut off by Mae.
"That's nice. You should probably get going so you can find it." Mae says nervously.
"Uh... What? Are you okay?" Alexis asks.
"Listen kids it's just not a good time because... Ben, Alexis if you can't get Firecracker under control you should just put her back in the nursery pen." Mae says angrily as Firecracker tackles into her knocking her down.
"What? Mae how could you say that?" Ben asks in shock as he and Alexis look at Mae.
"Doctor's orders. I don't have time to discuss it. Now please go. I have important work to do." Mae says sternly before she goes back inside as the group reluctantly leaves.
*Timeskip*
"You two are thinking the same as me right?" Alexis asks as the group is walking.
"Mae was acting weird right?" Ben asks.
"Yeah." Alexis says as she nods.
"If you can't get her under control you should put her back in the nursery pen!" Ben says.
"It just doesn't sound like Mae." Alexis says.
"Well accents have never been my thing." Ben says.
"No... I mean maybe she was trying to tell us to check out the nursery. What if there's something there she wants us to see?" Alexis asks.
"Then why not just say that?" Darius asks.
"The nursery is where Kon locked up Kash!" Ben says.
"Let's go." Darius says as the group runs off.
*Timeskip*
"We need solid proof that something's up before we can tell Kenji. I'm not breaking his heart for nothing. i know how much being with his dad means to him." Alexis says as the group is walking in the halls toward the nursery.
"Let's get it then. We can't let Kon get away with whatever he's doing." Ben says before Alexis stops hearing something.
"Ben, Darius stop." Alexis says as she quickly grabs Ben and Darius and pulls them behind the corner before the group sees a BRAD patrolling the hallway.
"A BRAD's guarding Kash now?" Darius asks.
"It wasn't there the other day." Alexis says.
"Come on." Darius says as the group waits for the robot to go down another hallway and quickly runs into where Kash is being held.
"He's gone." Ben says as the group sees Kash is gone.
"So if the BRAD isn't keeping Kash in..." Alexis says.
"It's here to hide the fact that he's out." Darius says.
"Then where is he?" Ben asks.
"I don't know but we gotta find out." Alexis says.
*Timeskip*
"Let's check his computer. See if we can find any leads." Darius says as the group gets on Kash's computer.
"Welcome back Kash." The computer says as the group sees a bunch of drones around a particular area.
"What are all those drones doing in the forest biome?" Darius asks.
"I'm not sure but we gotta find out. It could tell us something." Alexis says.
"Are you sure you wanna go? It's getting dark. Almost 8:30." Darius says as he looks at Alexis.
"Kenji will understand. He knows I don't break a promise or plans without a reason." Alexis says.
*Timeskip*
"This way. I heard Big Eatie over here." Alexis says as the group follows her to sounds of roaring and sees Kash controlling Big Eatie with Mae nearby.
"Oh no." Darius says sadly.
"He's done it..." Ben says sadly.
"Come on." Darius says as the group quietly leaves.
*Timeskip*
"Did you see Big Eatie's eyes? She was terrified. I just... I just can't believe they did it." Darius says as the group is walking back.
"I can. And to top it all off I'm late for my date." Alexis says as she groans.
"I... I'm no romance expert but is telling Kenji about Kash controlling dinosaurs really the best date convo?" Ben asks.
"How am I going to tell him this?" Alexis asks as she looks at Darius.
"I'm not sure there's a good way. But he needs to know." Darius says as the group hears growling and soon sees the raptors.
"The drones! Someone moved them to block our way." Alexis says as she sees the drones above the raptors.
"Right. Someone." Darius says.
"Do you think Mr. Kon knows that we saw Kash and Mae? But how could he have seen us?" Alexis asks.
"No idea. But he's clearly trying to slow us down. If the raptors are still fenced in then all we have to do is walk the perimeter. Very carefully." Darius says.
"No kidding on that. Come on." Alexis says as the group begins walking along the perimeter.
*Timeskip*
"Where's the next drone?" Alexis asks as the group doesn't see a drone and begins to make a run for it to the door only to get cut off by Little Eatie causing the group to hide behind a boulder.
"Now Little Eatie's here too?" Darius asks.
"Why would Kon be trying to keep us away? Something's seriously up. There's a small sliver between the drones and the wall. If we can slide along it we might just make it to the door. It's not ideal but it's all we got." Alexis says as she looks around the door.
"Lead the way." Ben says reluctantly as the group begins to make their way to the door while trying to avoid Little Eatie and barely make it inside while avoiding her.
"We've gotta find Kenji." Darius says.
*Timeskip*
"He couldn't find a white one?" Ben asks as the group reaches the suite and Alexis finds a red rose on the ground.
"He knows I love red roses. They're my favorite flower." Alexis says before the group sees Sammy and Yazmina at the door with Brooklynn.
"Uh Sammy wanted to catch a glimpse of the date. Okay I did too." Yazmina says as Sammy looks at her.
"But it looks like there's nothing to see." Sammy says.
"Yeah but the reason why I missed it is worse." Alexis says.
"Where is Kenji?" Brooklynn asks.
"That's what we're going to find out. We need to talk to him." Alexis says.
*Timeskip*
"I mean the Carnotaurus had to nickname it Toro. Obvious reasons. Oh I'm telling you if I wasn't there I don't know if this kid would still be around!" Kenji says as the group finds him talking to some adults while they hide.
"Guess now we know why his dad was trying to keep us away." Ben says.
"This is not good." Alexis says.
"What do we do?" Ben asks.
"We just have to tell Kenji the truth and hope he's still on our side afterwards." Darius says.
"One problem with that Darius. What if he doesn't believe us?" Alexis asks.
