Today was the day….
It was the day of the surprise gender reveal and baby shower Magnus and Isabelle planned for Alec. It's been three weeks since the near death experience, the semi-argument between Magnus and Alec. Then the constant phone calls for TV interviews no one wanted to do and kept ignoring the calls to the point all numbers were getting blocked. Magnus wanted to do something nice for his honey bun before he couldn't leave the bed anymore. Alec told Magnus during his first pregnancy he didn't want to leave the bed at all, he said it hurt too much to move. So being the romantic person he is, Magnus decided to throw a beautiful party in the comfort of their own backyard. Of course getting Alec to leave so they could set up was a hassle, but Max took care of it with telling Alec about the new Avatar: The Last Airbender comic that just came out, and being a huge comic book geek, Alec couldn't turn down the chance to go and grab the entire collection from Barnes and Noble.
Instead of basic color balloons, Magnus chose pastel yellow and blue with the baby looney tune theme. The backyard was filled with tents for the guests, chairs throughout it with yellow or blue ribbons tied behind them. Bouncy houses for the kids as well as some adults. They decided it would be fun to let the adults have a relay race for old times sake. Though Alec would be upset because he couldn't participate being five and half months pregnant. Horrible really. Gift bags were in every chair that held either toys for the kids or small bottles of alcohol for the adults including vacation reservations for trips to Disney world or Universal for the couples with kids and trips to Hawaii for the couples without children. An expensive gift, but it was for their friends and family, they deserved a break.
Magnus decided to go with multiple catering companies. He ordered all of the fruits platters, vegetables platters, cupcakes, cakes, sub sandwiches from Publix. He also got chick Fila catering, along with wings, fries, steaks, hot dogs, burgers, salads, and donuts. It was enough for people to take plates home.
Magnus also made sure to get Alec some chocolate covered strawberries and whip cream. That was one of his favorite cravings in the middle of the night. Magnus caught Alec and the girls up eating strawberries with chocolate smeared over their faces. It was the cutest sight. Speaking of the girls, Isabelle got the girls dressed while he got the backyard set up. They were dressed in yellow looney tunes shirts with blue shorts and white sandals. Alec put their hair in two braids this morning, they looked adorable.
The gift table was full already, just from their family. They went a little crazy, but they couldn't help it. Everyone was happy that they would be able to see Alec pregnant and witness his hormonal changes. Though Alec hasn't been bad, he's actually been sweet. Only snapping when the house is dirty or homework isn't done. Other than that, he's been sweet, taking his pregnancy one day at a time. Magnus just falls more in love with him every fucking day.
"Magnus!" Three voices broke him out of his thoughts making him turn to see his friends from New York. Jace went to pick them up from the airport. Tessa, Catarina, and Ragnor ran towards him, almost making him fall as they gathered him into a bone crushing hug.
"Guys, I can't breathe. Ease up would you?" They let him go and the girls squealed at the sight of the back yard. It was beautiful, Alec was going to die seeing it.
"Sorry, we are just excited! Where is my baby?" Cat asked, looking around for Alec. They always had a mother/son relationship. She was very proud of Alec ever since she first met him.
Magnus rolled his eyes at her because hello, he was here too. "Well nice to see you too Cat. Alexander is currently at Barnes and nobles with Max getting books and comics."
"Awwwww, I was hoping to see him, I miss his face. I guess I will have to just settle for you then." Cat says, sounding extremely disappointed.
"Gee thanks, I feel so loved. Do you guys want to get settled and changed?" Magnus asks, wanting them to get settled before the activities began.
"Yes, that would be great. I'm freaking exhausted, though excited to see Alec and meet the girls in person. Where are they?" Tessa asks before taking a chicken sandwich from the catering table. Ragnor took three because he was starving. Catarina decided to take a turkey sub sandwich and fries. Magnus shook his head at his friends. They were still the same. Though they looked excited to finally be able to see their long lost friend.
"They are in the house, probably running around or either playing with their toys. Come on, let me introduce you." The trio entered the house seeing the girls sitting on the couch playing with their baby dolls and watching PBS kids. They were singing along to super why. "Hey my darlings, I want you to meet some people." Magnus walks over to the girls, who immediately launch themselves at him, giving him sweet kisses.
The trio of friends cooed at the sight of the girls. They looked adorable in their outfits. The girls turned and smiled at them, wide hazel eyes reminding them of Alec. "Hi." The girls said in greeting. Cat was beside herself, tears bursting out of nowhere.
"Oh! Hi my babies. You two are so beautiful! Can I hug you?" The girls giggled as Cat sat down beside them. Before she knew it, she had two heavenly smelling babies in her lap. Tessa and Ragnor joined them getting hugs from the girls as well. Oh, they are precious.
"Well! I hope I get hugs and kisses too!" Camille whined from the doorway as she held her son. The girls squealed seeing her. They carefully got off the couch and ran to their teacher and friend. Magnus filled his friends in on the newcomer that stole their time with the girls.
"Camille, it's good to see you. How are you doing?" Magnus greeted her with a hug.
"I could go for a drink. Today was a mess. One of the parents showed out because she didn't want to pay for the week. The lady was a psycho. She called the police and everything. Though I have never seen Mrs. Debbie snapped like she did before. Oh Magnus, you would have been so proud!" Magnus laughed, nodding in agreement. Mrs. Debbie was quite the woman.
"Well, we have plenty of drinks for everyone. The party is in the back, you can help yourself. Alec should be here soon." Magnus showed his friends where to drop off their things to freaking up. It was going to be an emotional day for his honeybun.
