Chapter 2

Gajeel arose that morning realizing that they had been stuck in their home for a full month. Levy was saddened that she had to miss out on the last summer month of the year but at least she got to spend it with someone she held so dear. It was around 7 am when the two awoke next to each other rolling over to stare into each other's eyes. Gajeel released a big yawn "Morning."

"Good morning Gajeel, you sleep ok?"

Gajeel smiled nodding at her question he turned onto his back lifting his arm so Levy could scooch in and lay her head on his chest. It was quiet until a small laugh escaped Gajeel's lips. "What are you laughing about silly?"

"Ugh I just need to get out of here, I'm kinda getting tired of ya!" Levy playfully smacked him on his broad chest, "I swear if I have to hear you grind your teeth on another piece of metal while I'm trying to peacefully read, I'm gonna go crazy!" Gajeel gasped bringing his hand to his chest

"Ouch, now that kinda hurts a bit."

Levy raised her head so she could meet the pierced man's lips kissing him passionately. Gajeel rolled over on top of her to help deepen the kiss, their lips not leaving each other. He ran his hand down her side, resting it on her hip. Levy sighed into his lips reaching her hands up to cup his face. His other hand was pushed against the mattress on the left side of her head. Her warm skin graced his cold fingertips. He pulled away for air and they looked at each other with all the love they had for one another.

"Gajeel?"

"Hmmm"

"Your breath kinda stinks." Gajeels eyes widened as he brought his hand to his mouth exhaling "I don't know what the hell you're talking about, here smell again." He exhaled into her face "Bleh! No stop, you're so gross!"

Levy pushed her hand out clamping it over his mouth trying to save herself from the dragon's morning breath. In a muffled tone Gajeel mumbled.

"Now I wouldn't tell ya cause I'm nice, but your breath always reeks in the morning" Levy giggled as she wrapped her arms around his neck

"ugh, I guess I can live with yours if you have to live with mine."

He loved their morning talks, well he mostly just loved being in her presence. Even when they would playfully make fun of each other. Levy always had a great comeback up her sleeve and Gajeel thought it was cute as hell. Damn she had a little attitude at times, but he loved it, she had spent way too much time with him and was starting to pick up his jokes and quirks.

A knock at the door pulled the two out of the little world that was just them. After placing one more peck on her lips. Gajeel got out of the bed making his way towards the door to answer it. He cracked it open to see Gray and Erza.

"Morning man! How's it hanging?" Gray raised his hand in a wave as Erza smiled at him.

"It's early," Gajeel grumbled, opening the wooden door all the way to let them in. Levy walked out of the bedroom rubbing the sleep from her eyes "Hi guys you're here early!"

"Hi, Levy, you look like you slept well!" Gray exclaimed as he pointed to her bedhead. Levy blushed, making an effort to try and brush her wild hair down with her fingers. "Haha let me run a pot of coffee for you guys!" Levy skipped to the kitchen as the ice-cold man and his armored counterpart took their seats on the couch.

"We came so early cause we have some good news!" Gajeel raised his eyebrows in surprise and Levy peeked her head out from behind the kitchen wall to listen.

"Master thinks it would be safe to leave the house now!" Ignoring the coffee pot timer Levy comes from around the corner with a smile plastered on her face, "You really think so! We can leave now?" Gajeel stared downward and Gray raised his hands in defense, a bead of sweat dripping from his brow.

"Wait, we still want you guys to be cautious. We don't want you to be out too long, but it has been a month and Micheal was last seen in Bosco yesterday and that's 8 hours away! The fact that he was in town after he escaped was worrying but he wasn't even here for 30 minutes before he ran as far as he could away from Magnolia. It seems to me that he's not coming back anytime soon. Even if he was, we'd be ready!"

Erza chimed in "yes thank you Gray we have the guild on high alert anyway. So, I don't see why you guys can't spend an hour or two at the guild hall. But like I said an hour or two. It really can't be healthy keeping you guys all cooped up in the house like this." Gajeel shook his head "I don't know if that's a good idea."

"Gajeel. It's just for an hour and we can come home right after!" Levy made a praying motion pleading with him to listen to the two. Gajeel looked at her unsure of what to do but he let out a sigh turning to Gray and Erza "I guess we can go for an hour, maybe two, but you guys really think it's ok?" The mages nodded in agreement. Levy's smile widened as she jumped up and down in excitement "I'm gonna go get ready!" Levy ran down the hall, the thumping of her feet on the floor disappearing into the back of the house. As soon as Levy was out of sight Gajeel gave Erza a nervous look, "master was sure about this? He's not at all worried?"

"I understand that you're a bit unsure of all this but don't worry so much." Erza stood up from her seat placing her hands on her hips. "We've known Levy for a long time, and I can tell you now she needs this."

Gajeel was a little unsure about this, but they were Levy's family, and Gajeel did trust them. Gajeel nodded letting them know that he was on board with the idea. "I'm ready!" Levy came back out into the living room, her hair pulled up into a headband. She wore denim shorts and a forest green top that left her shoulders bare. "Ok, I guess I'll go get ready then." Gajeel walked to the bedroom pulling some clothes out of his drawer as he thought about what the master had told him a month back. The master was adamant that Micheal be caught before they went out again. What made him change his mind? The whole thing seemed off to him but why wouldn't he trust Gray and Erza they had never steered him wrong before. Gajeel made his way to the living room where the three stood.

"Ok let's get going!"

They strolled down the cobblestone street Gajeel looked over his shoulder every few minutes. Levy noticed this and grabbed his hand.

"Gajeel relaxes a little, we are all here together it'll be fine." Gajeel smiled at her. She had a way of putting him at ease, but he felt strange about all this. Why was she always so carefree? As they continued their walk, he just happened to catch something out of the corner of his eye. Gray kept looking at him. When Gajeel would catch his line of sight he'd look away quickly, any time he made a glance at the ice mage he'd catch him looking at him. Maybe he was just seeing things. He was brought out of his thoughts when they reached the guild. The doors that were usually open were closed.

"That's odd, why do you guys have the doors closed today?" Gajeel questioned. Levy looked to the sky seeing the monsoon that was starting to form. It was the summer rainy season.

"It does look like it's gonna storm hard today! I'd keep the doors closed too"

"Yeah, that's right," Erza answered Levy and she pushed the doors open to walk inside. It was a little chilly here today. Gajeel thought to himself looking around the building. It was quiet too. Some of the members were chatting, some were eating breakfast. Levy immediately ran to the bar to greet Mira. "Mira! We're back!"

The Bartender turned to the script mage. "Hello Levy, it's so nice to see you today! I hope you're hungry!"

Mira went behind the bar to fix two plates for the bluenette and her dark-haired boyfriend. The two took a seat at the bar.

"It's really quiet this morning." Gajeel scanned the hall and saw Natsu stuffing his face, Erza took a seat next to Cana where they whispered, probably some gossip. He caught Gray's eyes once again as he sat alone at the table behind them.

"Why are you starin stripper? Do I have something on my face or what!"

Levy smacked his arm "Gajeel don't be so rude!"

Gajeel just couldn't help but notice that Gray refused to take his eyes off of them. Why was he being so weird? Also, where the hell was the master and Lily he hadn't seen the exceed in a few days.

"Breakfast is served!"

Mira handed the plates to the couple. The steaming eggs and rye toast made his mouth water. The fresh garden tomatoes glistened with dew. Wait tomatoes?

"Um, Mira?" Levy called out to the barmaid who sauntered right over.

"I'm so sorry to bug you but I'm allergic to tomatoes remember?" Mira looked at the plate, taking it from her without saying a single word.

"Mira knows that I can't have them." Levy raised her right brow in confusion.

"Maybe she forgot?" Gajeel answered, he was just as confused, and Mira was always careful. It was still early. Maybe she was just tired.

"I've known Mira my whole life. When we were younger, she had started to grow tomatoes in the garden. She noticed my swelling face and rash immediately." Gajeel raised a studded brow as he saw Mira return with her breakfast with no tomatoes this time. "Here you go," Mira whispered.

"How'd you forget that Levy is allergic?" Gajeel questioned, Mira looked at him expressionless as she shrugged.

"What the hell was wrong with her?" Gajeel and Levy looked down at their meals, this just wasn't like her. She walked back behind the bar without saying a single word or apology.

"Levy, Gajeel!"

The two shifted in their seats to see who was calling for them. Laxus?

"Uh hey, Laxus?" Levy was surprised he was never that friendly with them. "Come here, I have to show you something."

Levy went to stand but Gajeel quickly grabbed her wrist. He whispered as quietly as he could.

"Somethings wrong."

"What do you mean?"

"Since when does Laxus want to talk to us?" Gajeel immediately stood in his chair.

"We actually have to get going, we were only supposed to be here for an hour anyway."

"What? But you guys just got here? Come on you should stay longer" Gray said as he somehow snuck up behind the couple without Gajeel noticing. Gray placed his hand on Levy's shoulder, and she shuddered, his hand was clammy and cold. His face was completely blank, not even a hint of the warm smile Levy was used to could be seen. Gajeel was right; she started to feel slightly uncomfortable. She shrugged his hand off her shoulder. "We really do have to get going, Gray," Levy whispered. Gajeel slowly slipped his hand around the small of Levy's back trying to guide her away from the ice mage and hopefully put himself between the two. Gajeel began to walk away, his hand gently pulling her to him. However, he was jerked back with a sudden force as Gray gripped Levy's wrist and pulled her so hard he could hear the pop of her shoulder. Levy cried out in pain.

"HEY! WHAT THE FUCK! GRAY LET HER GO, NOW!" Gajeel tried to push him away, but the ice wizard's hand tightened around her small wrist. Gajeel's hand slipped from her waist as he was grabbed from behind. Laxus had wrapped his arms around the dragon slayer pinning his arms to his sides. Gajeel struggled to get free the two wrestled knocking the plates of food over, the glass shattering on the floor.

"MASTER!" Gajeel screamed but he was nowhere to be found.

"What do you think you're doing! You're hurting me!" Levy yelled as she tried to pull Gray's hand away. Levy quickly looked around for help, but everyone just watched them with not a single emotion to be seen.

"Ok, that's enough." An unknown voice sent chills down their spines. It was him. He came from behind the bar with the master in tow. Micheal held the master by the back of his shirt, he had the same look that the others had. He just stood there.

"Gajeel he's telling them to do this, that's his magic he wills people to do his bidding!"

Micheal started clapping slowly, "That's quite the brain you got there missy."

Gajeel held his breath he could feel the sweat dripping down his forehead. Micheal sat at the bar, Mira walking slowly towards him. She held a tray with a mug of ale that had been freshly poured. Removing it from the tray Micheal brought the mug to his lips, gulping down the entirety of the drink and dropping the mug to the ground. It fell to the wood floor with a clank. Levy flinched at the sound. Clearing his throat, he took a moment to look the building walls up and down, running his finger over the wooden bar top and rubbing his fingers together to feel the granules of dust scratching at his fingertips. Crossing his arms in front of his chest. His nose wrinkled at the sight of the guild hall, "ugh disgusting, seems more run down than I remember it. What do you think Makarov?" Micheal patted the master on the back as if he were an old friend.

"Please don't hurt him!" Levy screamed as she struggled in the grasp of Gray, her wrist turning red with the force of his hand. Micheal's eyes flashed in a glint of sympathy as he pulled away from the small man. "Well, anything for you my darling daughter." Levy finally let the tears spill from her eyes as he made his way to Gajeel. "This guild hall really isn't a sight for sore eyes. Wouldn't you agree? Ummmmmm Gajeel right? Of the Phantom Lord guild?"

Gajeel swallowed hard, his nervousness was getting to him. He didn't want the script mage to get angry. Trying to control his shaky breaths, he gulped. "Um, yea that's my name but I'm with Fairy Tail now." Laxus' grip tightened around the dragon slayer, crushing his chest and making it hard for him to breathe.

With pursed lips, Micheal nodded "Hmmm so I've heard! And why would a strong guy like you make your way to this peasant guild in the first place? Got a special someone here or something?"

Gajeels heart was racing out of control, he knew, HE FUCKING KNEW! He had to calm down, he felt like his heart was so loud. Could he hear it? He quickly glanced at Levy, he didn't mean to but it was out of habit. "uh naw nothing like that…I just needed work that's all. the only place that would take me." Micheal's hand slammed down on the table to the side of him, sending a large crack down the middle of the wooden bar top, breaking it in a perfect half.

"NOW DON'T YOU FUCKING LIE TO ME! I KNOW WHO YOU ARE! I KNOW WHAT YOU FUCKING DID!" Gajeel flinched back, the power coming from him was insane. He could feel his very bones rattle from the force of his fist going through the wood. Micheal's expression turned angry, his eyebrows turned downward as he got into Gajeels personal space, staring him down. Micheal let out a laugh in disgust "bleh what the hell does she see in you?" Gajeel snarled, showing his sharp fangs.

"What do you want from us?" Micheal finally turned away from the pierced man hearing the voice of his daughter. Micheal smiled, taking a step towards her. Gajeel writhed and fought to get away from the blonde man holding him tight. Usually, this would be no problem for him but he was strong, stronger than normal. Micheal lifted his hand towards Gray "let her go now." Gray immediately stepped away and Levy pulled her bruised wrist to her chest trying to soothe herself from the pain. "Now you are what I came for, I've been looking for you, I hope you realize that I have been worried sick." Levy stepped back every time he came closer until her back was pressed up against the broken bar table. "Of course, it was my mistake, when I had put that spell on your mother, I didn't think she'd be strong enough to hide you away. Nonetheless, she was, you look just like her. It makes me angry just looking at you, having the face of the woman that wronged me."

"How did she wrong you?"

"Oh, Levy you silly girl, so curious aren't we?" He reached up and grabbed the girl by her face and peered down at her.

"If you only knew the power that you could possess, that's what I wanted for you. I wanted you to be just like me, strong, maybe even feared. But your mother turned you into this." he gestured to her body.

"You're small, your magic energy is almost non-existent, but we can fix that. I would like you to come with me."

Levy pulled away from his hand, shaking her head hard. No this isn't happening.

"Listen to me, I do know what's best for you. I am your father, after all, I know what that asshole did to you all those years ago. If only you were like me, maybe you could have fought back and saved yourself from all these years of trauma." Levy could feel him trying to sneak his way into her mind, he was using his words to try and win her over as he had done with the others. Micheal grinned at her brushing one of her blue curls behind her ear. "I can't even get into your head, and that changes things. Now I don't want to hurt you, but I have other ways of getting what I want."

He snapped his fingers and Laxus let Gajeel go. Gajeel went into attack mode, his arm turning into his signature sword.

"You think you can beat me?" Micheal smirked.

"You aren't taking her; I won't allow it!"

"You'll let me take her."

Gajeel felt hazy, he stumbled a bit squeezing his eyes shut. No, he was trying to get in his head. Gajeel stumbled forward almost looking drunk as he tried to slice at the blue-haired man. He was laughing! Easily moving around the stumbling dragon slayer.

"Careful you just might hurt yourself." Gajeel felt long gone his brain was completely clouded and now he felt it, the urge to cut his arm off?

"Do it. Cut it off." Gajeel Tried to fight it, laying his other arm on a table and lifting his sword in the air Gajeel prepared to swing down on his own limb.

"No Gajeel don't do it! Don't hurt him, please…I'm begging you!"

Micheal laughed maniacally "Begging now, aren't we! Let's make this more interesting, shall we? Gajeel, slit your throat from ear to ear! Come on now we don't have all day!" Gajeel turned his sword toward himself pressing the tip of the blade to his neck. Levy's eyes widened as she ran to the dragon slayer holding his arm trying to pry the blade away from himself.

"PLEASE GOD PLEASE DON'T DO THIS! NOT HIM DON'T TAKE HIM" Levy pulled as hard as she could, but he wouldn't budge, the blade nicked the delicate skin of his neck blood slowly trickling downward.

"I LOVE HIM PLEASE!" Levy's tears flowed freely as she begged the man who claimed to be her father to spare her love. Micheal clenched his fists grabbing her, she twisted around to meet his gaze.

"NO, YOU DON'T! YOU'RE JUST CONFUSED! YOU WILL COME WITH ME AND YOU WILL LEAVE THIS GUILD. I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO FORCE YOU AS I DID WITH THE OTHERS BUT I CAN JUST TAKE YOU!"

Levy stomped her foot in defiance, standing her ground against the man. Words can be beautiful, they could be loving, but they could also be dangerous and powerful. She had to choose to use her own words against him.

"Sold script fire!"

Levy wrote the word in the air, the light circling throughout her body as she sent it flying to him, raising his hand the word paused.

"Redirect!" Micheal pushed the word back to the small girl. She ducked trying to escape the burning word. Levy yelped as she threw herself to the ground, it barely missed her. The fire hit Gray who was still standing near them head on and he fell to the ground.

"GRAY!" Levy screeched.

"I'LL GO WITH YOU OK! I WILL, PLEASE JUST SPARE MY FAMILY." At that moment Everyone fell to their knees from the exhaustion of being controlled for so long.

"I knew you would come to your senses sooner or later." Gajeel tried to lift himself off the ground, but his muscles cried out as he tried. "S..stop Levy don't go." Why was he so tired? Why couldn't he find the energy? He watched as Levy took a step, she turned to look at him and she smiled, her tears still falling "Gajeel let me do this for you, you have always protected me. Let me protect you now."

"You don't have to!" cried Natsu as he found the strength to get to his feet. Makarov stood with him, same with Laxus, Lucy, Juvia, Erza, and Gray. Gajeel pulled himself up completely taking a defensive stance. "Move and we kill you. As the Fairy Tail guild, we normally don't resort to murder but when my child is involved we will not hesitate." Makoravs face grew dark as his magic swirled around him.

"You can't beat me; I'll just control you again."

Makarov smirked, calling his bluff "you're tired, aren't you? How long have you been controlling the guild? Hours? A week?" Gajeel stared at the man as he watched him grow frustrated. Makarov was right he wouldn't be able to get control of everyone again. He had exhausted his magic energy. He took a step back. Taking one more glance at Levy he growled.

"SOLID SCRIPT HOLE!" A large hole opened from underneath him as he fell through. Levy would have fallen in as well if Gajeel hadn't grabbed her by the back of her shirt at the last minute pulling her away.

"HE'S GETTING AWAY!" Lucy yelled as she watched the now closing hole.

"Let him go! We can't take him in our condition right now. We can hardly stand. Let alone fight."

"Is everyone ok?" Levy whispered. This was all her fault. "I... I'm so sorry everyone, this is all my fault. It's me he wants."

Everyone answered in unison trying to tell Levy not to worry and that they were all fine. "Levy, we don't think this is your fault, you didn't ask to be born into a messed-up family." Natsu exclaimed, "Natsu try to be sensitive." Lucy said as she placed her hand on his shoulder. "Levy, we love you, you're our Nakama." Lucy smiled at her pulling her in for a hug. Levy sobbed, she felt loved. Gajeel stumbled to her side taking her hand in his "we will do anything for you, we have your back shrimp." Gajeel brushed her hair behind her ear cupping her soft cheek in his hand. She leaned into it putting her own hand on top of his.

"Not to break up this tender moment but what the hell happened?" Gray rubbed his head, having to remember what took place.

"You and Erza came to our place telling us that it was safe to come out. But I knew something was off, everyone was…well acting strange. You wouldn't stop staring at me." Levy chimed in "and Mira had put tomatoes on my breakfast when she knew I was allergic. And laxus was very friendly."

Levy looked at the blonde man "no offense." Laxus shrugged,

"None taken."

"Well, what the hell do we do now? What's our plan?" yelled Gray.

Gajeel frowned down at Levy. "I think I know what we have to do." he squeezed her hand tight, worried for the days to come.

Howdy y'all I hope you liked this chapter. I would have finished it sooner but I was kinda hung over today and just could not stare at my laptop screen. I put a few experiences that i have with my own boyfriend in here such as them roasting each other back and forth. I think that's a normal thing couples do or were just weird lol. Please review it gives me the motivation to actually write! Thank you all for reading!
