Chapter 29
She couldn't be happier.
Lady Tiamat would watch her sons play, but there was something amiss. Suiryu kept looking at Yuuji oddly, mainly at his wings and extra arms. He turned to her in his confusion. "UMPH!" he protested and pointed at Yuuji.
She giggled and nodded. "I know, you want to be just like him right?" she asked, it was a good reason to question it. She wondered the same thing too, but perhaps there wasn't enough material…
But just as she thought it over, Suiryu sneezed aloud. Wings burst out of his back as he froze to the action, slowly, he turned and saw them before his eyes widened with surprise. Yuuji playfully tackled him in celebration but was soon pushed off. Well, that's one thing they have in common now. But then his sides got itchy.
Once again with two strong sneezes he somehow managed to sprout two arms like his brother. Now, they were twins!
"Umph!" Yuuji cheered.
Suiryu was now smiling a grin as big as his brother's… then he tackled him.
That's all they have been doing as of late, teasingly knocking each other down and rolling about on the floor play wrestling. Still, she wouldn't trade this for the world at the moment. Her sons were growing healthy and strong, she was able to hold them and enjoy them in such a small state. Granted, she was able to do this with Yuuji, but now with Suiryu as the way it should have been. It only made her heart sing with joy.
Soon, they tired themselves out. Both of them let out a massive yawn before their eyes grew heavy, they tried to stay awake, but their little bodies swayed and were ready to fall asleep. She giggled to it all and was quick to pick them up off the ground, bundle them in blankets and lull them to sleep.
Once their eyes closes, she sighed contently. But then felt it.
A very familiar presence. She turned to her right and saw him; a massively tall man with skin as black as night, his hair long and black as he peered down at the newborns. "You have strong children Tiamat…" he said gently.
She nodded and smiled to him. "I know father," she said gently. "Do they have your approval?"
He snickered. "Needless to say, I have met them when they were cultivating. I learned a little from them, and they have learned much from me… I can see them being the change needed in this world of ours. Not just for the humans, but dragons as well."
She nodded to him. Tiamat had always wondered why she appeared the way she did. She possessed fair skin and yet had dark hair like her father, yet in her dragon form, she resembles him more than her human state. "You look so much like your mother…" he said offhandedly to her, he cleared back some of her hair as he stared into her face. "She would love her new grandchildren as much as I do."
She nodded, her mother she has not seen since being born, some tales state that her father became the darkness and she became the light. They had children only once since the worlds were being created and the two together could throw off the balance of them. They understood this, but still, they miss each other greatly.
Her eyes peered back down to her sons who were now cooing in their sleep. "Father… do you know what kind of dragons they will be? I do admit, they are going to be some strange looking ones…" she said.
He nodded to her. "The first of their kind, demon dragons…"
She froze. Her heart did as well. "Demon… demon dragons?" she asked with worry.
He gently patted the top of her head. "Despite the name of it, they are going to be very strong. They are called such a thing for their power came from a demon sorcerer. No other of our kind has had such knowledge or power before their births in such a way. Therefore they are going to be demon dragons, my child. Do not let the name fool you," he insisted.
"What of their dragon name?" she asked.
"That too has been decided, I, myself have already seen it etched on their soul. It's very befitting of them."
She knew she couldn't ask him what it was, he wouldn't have told her anyways. Instead, Tiamat continued to rock back and forth in her chair, wondering now what will become of her children. "Are you surprised about Suiryu?" she asked of him. "I know not many would look beyond…"
"He isn't Sukuna," her father stated. "You know it and as do I. All will see that as well, despite some tendencies he has, he is not that demonic bastard. I see him much like his brother, Yuuji. Yuuji is a little absent minded, but his heart is perfect. They are a good balance to each other, Yin and Yang in a sense. They will learn from their sibling well, and grow stronger together."
She nodded to him.
"How long have I been asleep for?"
He paused to consider the time that had passed. "5 months," he said.
She froze. "Five months?!"
"Shhh, babies are sleeping, but yes. Five months. I wouldn't be surprised if you remained asleep for the rest of this year. They did take quite a bit didn't they?" he snickered.
Her stomach was in knots just thinking about it. "How could they have done such a thing?" she asked.
He didn't know either, but it happened and they consumed fifty dragons each. "It will be a good way to start anew, but I can see them using their gifts and power for something more." He then smirked. "Quite frankly, I do believe the punishment fits the crime doesn't it? They had devoured generations of young ones, depriving us new, stronger dragons… how ironic that they are consumed by the new generation."
She did admit it, that was a befitting punishment. "Uncle will do everything he can to kill them," she whispered. Her arms suddenly braced them closer to herself. "I can't lose them. I regret I didn't do more for Ryujin, but had I gone to see him… they would have destroyed him. Raynn isn't any safer than where he has been. He has contained himself father, refusing to even show his face to the world out of fear… I failed as a mother if her own children cannot face their fears and see the wonders that are before them…"
"Raynn needs to figure things out for himself. I noticed when he was young, he depended on Ryujin for protection and to see if something was safe or not… perhaps though…" he suddenly trailed off.
"Father?"
"It's of no matter, for now child, rest and prepare… it won't be long until they are born and the world itself will know they have been!"

He stared on, but still wondered. "You think she's okay?"
But saw a small grin come onto the lips of Choso. He merely nodded his head before turning back to his task at hand. "Indeed, she needs her rest and as such, since she has grown out a bit, she needs new blankets, now, are you going to focus on your work or are you going to keep staring at her as she rests?"
Toji couldn't believe he was doing such a thing, yet he has been with Choso quite often, making certain there was nothing going on between him and Lady Tiamat. Yet as he kept an eye on things, he realized that there wasn't any flirting of any kind. Choso really was looking out for her and her children. "Tch. I didn't think you would be so… dotting over her."
Choso didn't smile that time. "Well, I never knew my mother, I haven't met one either until her. And now I see how significant their job is… and understand how tormented mine was." He said offhandedly.
Toji rolled his eyes. "You ain't going into a sob story are you? I don't want to hear it!"
"That's fine, I won't speak… you missed another stitch."
"Fuck…"
Yes, he was learning how to knit.
He had watched Choso do it before, and saw Lady Tiamat's reaction when he presented her with handmade blankets. Toji had gone out to get some from the store a while back, but they weren't used, she refused, claiming they were not soft enough for her. The material they are using to knit now felt weird in his hands, and yet he could tell the texture was different than from what is bought in a store. "So, you think this will increase my chances?" he asked offhandedly.
"It doesn't hurt. I have heard her speak of males dragons who only take what they desire, kill their own young for the sake of power and leaving the female when they are done… I do hope that is not your intention with lady Tiamat…"
"You nuts?" he snapped back. "If I took advantage of her, I am certain I would be killed in some way or form… somehow I can see you being the cause of that, but then again. I defeated Satoru once before, I am certain I can take you."
The curse human snickered to his remarks. "I rather not find out to be honest with you, if anything I think you and lady Tiamat would make a wonderful couple. You respect her, and she has respect for you as well. I over heard her say she has not seen many if any humans reach your level of skills. That alone must be impressive."
"Damn right," he muttered. "Stupid knitting needles…" he muttered.
"Perhaps you may want to consider the bigger threads. There is one recently made, they are thick enough that you merely use your hands as the knitting needles…"
"Why the fuck did you not say something sooner!" he demanded.
"Shhh," Choso scolded.
He nearly forget, she was sleeping close by. He sighed aloud and gave up on the piece he was making. Choso got him the thicker materials, from there Toji was able to work much more efficient. His hands worked quickly as he soon memorized the stitching pattern. In two hours, he made his first complete blanket… and it was massive! "So what's now?" he muttered.
Choso peered over, he noticed Lady Tiamat appearing a little uncomfortable and nodded. "Place it over her. I'll assist you."
Working together they managed to get the blanket over the sleeping beauty. When it was done, she appeared to brace it closer to her as she nestled in once more. "It's well made, you did good."
"Still don't see how this is going to increase my chances…" he muttered.
"As I said, the males never gave their mates anything. But you took the time to make something just for her. As well, when she sleeps, she will breath in your scent that is now on the materials, will she not?" he asked offhandedly.
Ah, that was it, seduce her in a different way!
Suddenly, this knitting thing didn't appear so bad. "What else can I do?" he asked curiously.
"Well, when she wakes, she is probably going to be hungry. Her favorite meal is pasta. The long noodle kind with a sweet, red sauce and lots of meat." He explained. "I am not too versed myself in that, however my brother Eso is."
He snorted at the notion, first knitting and now cooking? Is he the sorcerer killer or becoming a house husband!?
