My eyes fluttered opened when Logan kissed me on my forehead. He immediately apologized for waking me. I rubbed my eyes and slowly sat halfway up. "You're dressed. Are you leaving?" I yawned.

"Yes. I have a few errands to run. I was going to bring the baby with me so you could sleep in."

"You don't need to. I'm awake now."

"Go back to sleep. You're with him everyday, let me give you a break."

"Don't forget the diaper bag."

"Already have it all packed."

"Did you remember milk?"

Logan nodded. "I have a bottle."

"And diapers and wipes? Don't forget a bib and pacifier."

"I have it all Ace, don't worry. We'll be back in a couple of hours."

"Okay." I laid back down. "I love you. Thank you."

Logan left and I went back to sleep. I managed to get another hour of sleep. When I woke up, I hopped in the shower and took my time. Usually I have to rush, but being that Logan has the baby, there was no need to. When I hopped out, I slipped into a robe and wrapped my hair in a towel. I walked into the closet and stared at my clothes debating what to wear. Do I want to go with comfy or cute today?

Once dressed, I blowdried my hair and put on minimal makeup. I went into the kitchen to prepare myself a cup of coffee. While the water boiled, I went outside to the avocado tree to see if any were ready to pick yet. I touched and squeezed the avocados. Out of all the ones on the tree, only one was ready to be picked. I brought the avocado inside and placed it on a cutting board. I sliced it open and scooped it out to spread on a piece of toast. I also sliced some fruit and placed it on the side of my plate. I heard the tea kettle make a whistling sound and finished making my coffee.

I decided to eat my breakfast on our backyard patio since the weather was perfect. It's not even spring yet and the weather has been in the mid 70s everyday. I think I'm liking California more and more just for the weather alone. I had brought the newspaper out with me to read. I miss writing. I know the baby is two months, but I think I'm ready to get back into journalism.

Mom called as I was reading about current events. She wanted to know how things were going since we haven't spoken in a few days. I told her good.

"I mean I'm exhausted, my boobs are sore, but what's new?"

"Sore boobs, definitely don't miss that. Is he sleeping through the night?" Mom asked.

"Mostly. Logan on the other hand has been up late working, which has been keeping me up. I usually go to bed before him, then he'll come tumbling in around midnight which wakes me up. It's hard to get back to sleep, and by the time I do get to sleep, the baby decides to wake up."

"I'm sorry, Hun."

"I was able to sleep in today. Logan took the baby so I'm just having a slow, relaxing morning. Some me time."

"You deserve me time. Hell so do I after these past days. Did I mention Kirk is staying with me?"

"Fight with his mom again?"

"Unfortunately. I feel like I'm raising a kid again. I have to tell him to wash his hands before he eats, when it's bedtime. No Kirk, we can't have ice cream for breakfast, lunch, and dinner."

I laughed. "He's like the brother I never had."

"Well would you like the brother you never had to visit? I'll book him the next flight out."

"I don't need two kids right now. One is enough. So, anything new in Stars Hollow?"

"Just the same ole same ole. You know, Taylor with his crazy ideas."

I sipped my coffee. "What's the latest?"

"Well he wants to host a food festival from around the world."

"Am I missing the crazy part?" I asked.

"He wants a stand from every country. All 195 of them."

"Okay, he's insane. When is it?"

"If he's able to pull it off, three weeks."

"That's soon."

"Which makes it even crazier. Did I tell you what happened last week?"

"With the fireworks? Yeah."

"That man is mad." Mom announced.

"I feel like I'm missing out."

"I take it Palo Alto doesn't do anything like this?"

"No." I took another sip of my coffee. "Maybe I could come."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I could bring Levi so everyone could meet him. Grandma has been threatening to visit, so I think it would be better this way."

"She has?"

"Yes. She's dying to meet Levi. Photos are apparently not enough. I can just imagine all the changes she'd make to our house if she came."

"What about Logan?" Mom asked.

"I mean I would need to talk to him about it." I got up from the table and brought my dishes inside. "I don't know if he'd be able to come, but I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem if it were just me and Levi." I heard the front door open and close. "Speaking of, I think he just got back."

"Talk to him and let me know."

"I will." I got off the phone just as Logan entered the kitchen. I reached my hands out for Levi and gave him a kiss on his cheek. Logan asked where his kiss was, and I kissed him on the lips. "What did you boys do?"

"I had to stop at the bank, then went to the store to get a few things. Oh, we stopped at a park. We watched ducks."

"You watched ducks?"

"I know, I can't believe those words came out of my mouth. The baby has changed me."

"Fatherhood looks good on you." I sat down at the table and stood Levi up on my lap. "Did you have fun with daddy?" Levi smiled as I gave him more kisses. I turned to Logan. "Do you think his eyes are getting bluer?"

Logan looked. "Now that you mention it, they do look bluer."

"He's going to be a heartbreaker. I can just see it now. Ladies will be lining up." I sat Levi on my lap. "So I just got off the phone with my mom. Stars Hollow is having this crazy event in three weeks and I was thinking of going."

"How crazy are we talking about?" Logan asked.

"A food festival with stands from all 195 countries. But if I know Taylor, he probably has something else up his sleeve. Maybe a ginormous ferris wheel or decorating the town so each street looks like a specific country. A petting zoo with one native animal from each country wouldn't surprise me either."

Logan laughed. "I do have a job, but I'm sure I can hold down the fort here."

"I would bring the baby with me." I told him.

"Is that really necessary?"

"I'm not leaving Levi here when he needs me."

"Do you really want to expose him to germs on a plane?"

"Babies fly all the time. He'll be fine."

"I don't think you should take him." Logan said once more.

"If I'm going, he's coming. End of story."

"Not end of story. We are parenting together, remember? We have equal say in the matter concerning our son."

"So this is really what our first parenting fight is going to be about?" I said. "I always wondered what it would be, but I thought it would be later on about schooling or discipline; curfew."

"We're not fighting. This is a discussion."

"Logan, I can't leave Levi here. I'm still breastfeeding."

"We have a ton of milk in the freezer."

"For when we go out and about, not for days on end."

"Days on end? How long do you think you'll be gone for?"

"I don't know; three, four days." I took a deep breath and gathered my thoughts. "It get's lonely being here all day every day with the baby. I thought it would be nice to make the trip back home. I miss everyone and they've been dying to meet Levi as well."

Logan sighed. "I didn't know you've been feeling lonely."

"I didn't want to say anything." I got up and walked into the living room. Logan followed. I placed the baby down on his floor mat. "I think I'm ready to start working. I was thinking maybe start with freelancing like I was doing a year ago. You know, tip my toes back into journalism."

"Are you sure you're ready?"

"Yeah. I think it's time."

Logan sighed again. "Okay. I'm not going to stop you from doing anything. If you want to go to Stars Hallow, go. If you want to get a job, go for it. I'll support you."

I smiled and reached for his hand. "You should try to come. I'm sure the guys would love to see you. You could introduce Levi to your family."

"I thought you didn't want them around much."

I shrugged. "As long as everyone can be civil. I can put our differences mostly aside so Levi can have a relationship with them."

"I'll see what I can do."

I kissed Logan on his cheek. "Thank you."

A few days later, Logan decided he'd come. Truth be told, he agreed it would be nice to see his friends as well as his sister Honor who hasn't had the opportunity to visit. He said he'll have to work at least two of the days on the trip. Fortunately as long as he has access to his laptop and wifi, he can essentially work from anywhere.

So it's official, we're heading back to Connecticut. This will be Levi's first ever flight. I hope he won't be "that baby" that cries the entire time.
