30 Worlds: Royal Megaforce Gaiden: "Na'La'For (The Captain's Table)"

L-CHAPTER FIVE

Later that day, after the Enterprise arrived in the World of Descendants and we had what Prince William called a "world mission action briefing," he came up to me as I was getting my midday meal on the Crew Services deck.

"Lennier, I have something for you. Please follow me," William said. I nodded, put down my plate and utensils, then followed William into my quarters.

William presented me with a trio of strange devices. He first held up the bigger of the three. "This is a MegaCellular. You can use it for communication, but its true potential lies with these," William said, referring to the smaller objects.

"First, the GokaiSilver Megaforce Change Key," William said. "Placing it into the compartment on the MegaCellular will allow you to transform into GokaiSilver." I watched as a silver light passed from William's body into my own.

"Next, the Gold Anchor Key," William continued, pointing to a slot on the bottom of the MegaCellular. "Placing it into this slot while empowered as GokaiSilver will upgrade you to GokaiSilver Gold Mode, which will further enhance your abilities."

"I am aware of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger and its history, as they are known even to the Unaligned World of Babylon 5, Your Highness," I said.

"Then you also know of the Gokai Change Keys," William said, holding up a Key that he had retrieved from his own belt buckle. "When used in this-" William pointed to a device on his utility belt. "-or in your MegaCellular, they allow the user to assume the powers and abilities of the warrior embodied by the activated Key."

"The fact is that there are more than just Keys for Super Sentai—there are Keys for Kamen Riders, Metal Heroes and other super-powered warriors," William continued. "For that reason, I choose to call them 'Megaforce Change Keys.'"

"I have blessed you to be MegaforceSilver, Lennier," William continued. "With the blessing, you can use this-" William handed me a utility belt like the one he wore, which I put on around my waist. "-you can just think of a Key you want to use. Just press this button-"

William pointed to a black button on the top of the belt's buckle. "-and the Key you thought of will be summoned to you. Try it," William finished.

And so, I closed my eyes and thought. Finally, I pushed the black button. And just as William described, the Key of X1 Mask, the prototype warrior of Hikari Sentai Maskman, appeared on the belt's buckle.

"I see, Your Highness," I said.

"Lennier, on this ship, we tend to not stand on titles," William said. "Just call me William, unless we are in a situation where formalities are called for."

"As you wish, William," I said. "Thank you for the trust you have blessed me with, with us only just now meeting each other." I bowed to William as Mother's training taught me.

A couple of days later, I was down in Auradon—the main kingdom of the World of Descendants—with Sofia and other members of the Enterprise crew whom William had given a blessing similar to mine. A hesitant transporter beam resolved into William and two other people.

As William introduced the two people to Sofia, I got a message on the eye-mounted display screen I wore. " William, the Enterprise is reporting critical power failure on all key systems. We are defensless," I said, relaying the basics of the report I was reading. The report from the Enterprise's emergency computer system noted that all power had been transferred to the ship's transporter system in order to allow the transporter beam William had used to penetrate the magical dome that separated Auradon from the Isle of the Lost, where William had transported from.

William then turned to The Doctor and told him to return to the Enterprise via his TARDIS time ship with a small party to initiate an evacuation of the crew, cargo and equipment. William then ordered The Doctor to tell three crewmembers—Phineas Flynn, Zenon Kar and Princess Consort Mal—to retrieve backup data cards belonging to E.R.I.N. and to also activate the Enterprise's self-destruct system.

Moments later, my eye-mounted display updated with "SELF-DESTRUCT ACTIVATED," then with a countdown clock that began to tick down from ninety. A minute later, the TARDIS reappeared. Mal walked off the TARDIS and handed William the E.R.I.N. data cards.

William then handed me the cards and gestured for Phineas' step-brother Ferb Fletcher and I to install the data cards in the body of Kameleon, a robotic being who was a former companion of The Doctor.

Ferb pressed a button on Kameleon's back, causing a panel to slide open. Ferb gestured for me to put the data cards in the appropriate slots. Knowing how important E.R.I.N. is to all of us, I took care to place the data cards in the slots one by one.

Just as I put the final card in, the self-destruct countdown clock hit 0. I closed my eyes, not wanting to look up to the sky and see the Enterprise fall into the atmosphere and finally burn up.

I heard Mal ask William, "Well, what's our next move?," to which William replied, " I don't know, Mal. But whatever it is, we'll face it together."

"Lennier, let's close it up," Ferb said. I opened my eyes and tapped a control to close the panel to secure the data cards. Before my eyes, Kameleon's liquid-metal body morphed into a female figure. "Where...where am I?" the familiar voice of E.R.I.N. said.

"E.R.I.N., is that you?" Sofia said. "Yes...but somewhat different," E.R.I.N. said.

"Well, E.R.I.N., we had to install your backup files into the body of one of The Doctor's former companions," William said. "The Enterprise is gone."

"Gone? How?" E.R.I.N. said. I stepped forward. "Prince William and two of the Descendants were trapped on the Isle of the Lost," I began. "We had to channel all of the ship's energy into the transporter beam, in order to penetrate the magical dome separating the Isle and Auradon."

Clara picked up the story: "Doing so left the Enterprise vulnerable to capture by the A.I.C. Rather than risk the Grand Key data falling into enemy hands, William ordered the Enterprise's self-destruction."

"Fortunately, I have an idea," The Doctor said. "After my fourth incarnation failed to completely stop the creation of the Daleks, he, Sarah Jane Smith and Harry Sullivan were in the TARDIS, looking around for a new adventure. Finally, we found it."

"Oh?" William said. "A strange spaceship none of us had seen before," The Doctor said. "Check page 750 of my record book."

William tapped a control on his own eye-mounted display. After a moment, William deactivated the display. "We had just returned to the TARDIS from Skaro when the TARDIS' sensors caught only a momentary glimpse of the ship before she disappeared," The Doctor continued. "Over the decades following the sighting, I saw the ship every time I had to be in the vicinity of Skaro. I have reason to believe that Skaro is the key to this whole affair," The Doctor said.

"Then, what are we waiting for?" William said.

After observing words of parting between Mal and her boyfriend, King Benjamin of Auradon, I stepped onto the TARDIS and took my position at the central control pedestal. William then walked into the control room and was directed by The Doctor to the craft's telepathic controls.

Alright, everyone," William said. "Let's go find ourselves a new ship." The Doctor smiled, then flipped a lever on his panel. The now-familiar-to-me wheezing and whirring of the TARDIS engines began. On my display, the Auradon Castle throne room faded before being replaced by a swirling vortex of energy.

As Father would say, "Strap yourself in. It's gonna be a bumpy ride."
