Chapter 20: Bugs on a Train- Part III

Previously on The Queen of Games, things weren't going so well for Yami and Jun as Weevil was decimating them with his powered-up bug monsters and if things weren't bad enough, Poison Butterfly finally hatched from its cocoon. The downside of the monster was that it drains 500 life points at the end of every turn Yami takes. When Yami summoned Timaeus in the hopes of turning things around, it seemed like the legendary dragon abandoned Yami because of what happened in his duel with Raphael. Now that Weevil's Great Moth has finally emerged and strengthened by the Orichalcos, it looks like it's off to Loserville for Yami and Jun, unless they can pull a miracle out of their decks. Let's find out.

"Now that my moth has arrived, you're both finished. Now who should I attack? I got it. Ultimate Great Moth, destroy Shakkuomon!" Weevil commanded as his moth blew a dust and pollen towards Jun's monster.

"I reveal my facedown card, Marching Fishes. This trap card protects my monster form your attacks for one turn" Jun said a column of fish emerged and shielded Shakkuomon.

"Lucky move, but next time you're done for" Weevil said in anger.

"We'll see. Right now, my turn is done" Jun said as Yami drew a card.

"It's time to get rid your Insect Princess, I reveal my facedown card, Natural Selection. My trap card creates a copy of your Insect Princess, then it destroys the original" Yami said as another Insect Princess appeared and destroyed Weevil's monster. "My card's effect only last for one turn, but it's well worth it" Yami said as his life points dropped again.

(Yami: 1050)

"A sad, pathetic attempt to delay your destruction. But don't worry I promise, I'll make it very quick. Now then" Weevil said as he drew a card. "It's time to finished what I started. Great Moth, attack Shakkuomon!" Weevil commanded as his moth blew another cloud of dust at Shakkuomon, which destroyed the monster, causing Jun to shield herself with her arms.

(Jun: 1800)

"This is bad. If Yugi and Jun don't find a way to beat Weevil soon, they're both going to lose their souls" Tea said.

"But how? Weevil's moth has 4000 points and no other monster in either of their decks beat it" Michael said which caused Jun to perk up.

"Of course, there may be a monster in my deck that can help. But will I draw it in time? I'm going to have to do what Yugi, Daisuke, and Joey would do and trust in my deck" Jun thought as she looked at her deck.

"It's your last move, but I doubt there's anything in your deck that can defeat my Great Moth, but since I'm being generous today, I'll let you draw a free card. Not that it matters, because in the end- I win" Weevil said as he laughed madly.

"We'll see. My move" Jun said. "Come on, deck. You helped out Daisuke, Yugi, and Joey, please do the same for me" Jun thought as she closed her eyes and drew a card from her deck and when she opened her eyes, there was hope.

"I hope you didn't write your victory speech, Weevil because this duel is over" Jun said.

"And what makes you think you can beat me with the card you just drew?" Weevil asked.

"Watch, I play the Golden Digi Egg" Jun announced as a golden Digi egg appeared on the field.

"You planned to beat me with an egg, how dumb can you be?" Weevil asked.

"Never underestimate a card's true potential, Weevil. For the Golden Digi Egg is about write the final chapter in your moth's book. All I have to do is sacrifice 2 monsters who levels total 9 or more. So far, I have Angewomon, but I need another monster and that's where my partner comes in" Jun said as she turned to Yami.

"If it's ok, I need to borrow Poison Butterfly in order to complete my ritual. Trust me, I know what I'm doing" Jun said.

"Very well, if it'll lead us to victory" Yami said.

"It will. Just watch. I sacrifice Angewomon and Poison Butterfly to active the Golden Digi Egg" Jun said as the 2 monsters vanished and soon the golden Digi egg began to glow brightly, causing everyone to shut their eyes.

"What have you done?" Weevil cried.

"What was needed. And now, meet the most powerful Digimon in existence. Come forth, Magnamon" Jun announced as Veemon's golden armored form appeared, radiating great power. (Attk: 3400)

"Some monster, it only has 3400 points, my moth can crush it in an instant" Weevil said.

"You forget about my monster's special ability, all I have to do is remove a monster form your graveyard, and Magnamon can destroy every monster on my opponent's side of the field, at a cost, my monster can't attack until next turn" Jun said.

"Not after I activate my facedown card, Infestation. This trap card takes 100 points from each of our monsters, then it subtracts the difference from our life points" Weevil said.

(Magnamon: 3400-3300)

(Gaia, the Dragon Champion: 2600-2500)

(Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth: 4000-3900)

(Weevil: 2400)

(Yami: 950)

(Jun: 1700)

"You know that would have worked if Poison Butterfly was still on the field, it would have drained more of Yami's life points if you had waited next turn. But since he's not here, your strategy falls apart" Jun said causing Weevil to tremble in fear. "Now if I can continue, I activate Magnamon's special ability, by removing Shakkuomon from the game, I can destroy every monster on my opponent's side of the field" Jun said as Magnamon began to glow brightly. "Go, destroy Weevil's moth with Magna Explosion!" Jun commanded as her monster glowed until it became so bright that it consumed the field, along with Weevil's moth forcing everyone to shield their eyes. When the light died down, there was nothing on Weevil's side of the field.

"NO! My moth! Squash like a common housefly!" Weevil cried out in horror.

"And now that you have no monsters on the field to protect you, I'll go ahead and end my turn and let my partner wrap things up" Jun said.

"Very well. Here goes" Yami said as he drew a card. "I'm sorry, Weevil. But in order to win this duel, I must attack you directly" Yami said.

"No, please have mercy!" Weevil cried.

"I don't have any choice. Now Gaia, the Dragon Champion, attack Weevil's life points and end this duel!" Yami commanded as his monster flew towards Weevil who cried out in terror, just as Gaia readied his lance and struck Weevil in the shoulder, causing the bug duelist to cry out in pain.

(Weevil: 0)

After Weevil's life points fell to 0, the Seal began to shrink around him. "No, please give me another chance, I know I can do better this time!" Weevil cried out as a pillar of green light shot up into the sky. After the light died down, Weevil passed out.

"Is it over?" Tea asked.

"It is. But now Weevil is held captive by Dartz, and although he was a cheat and a real jerk, he didn't deserve to go out like that" Jun said.

"Which is why we need to get to Florida and find out what connection Dartz has to Atlantis" Yami said as Yolei noticed the train was heading for a cliff.

"Guys, we need to get off this train now or we're all going to be pancakes" Yolei said as she and Michael took out their Digivices, just as Airdramon appeared.

"Ready guys?" Michael asked.

"Ready" Betamon said.

"Always" Hawkmon said.

"HAWKMON/BETAMON DIGVOLVE TO...AQUILAMON/SEADRAMON"

"Hop on, Tea. We'll grab Weevil" Yolei said as she and Tea got on Aquilamon who picked up with Weevil his claws.

"Jump on, Yugi" Michael said as he and Yami got on Seadramon.

"Let's hit the road" Tatum said as she got on Airdramon. Soon all 3 Digimon flew away just as the train went over the cliff and crashed into the river.

"That was too close" Tea said.

"Now we just have to figure out where we are and where Daisuke, Joey and the others are too" Michael said as they looked for a place to land. Little do they know; they were being watched by a man wearing Native American clothing while holding a stick to help him walk.
