The sun shining brightly, the soft grass cushioning their fall and as they flung out of the portal.
Eddie quickly caught his breath as he touched the grass underneath his fingers, relieved just to feel it again after the nightmare he had just endured. The one they had both endured. He turned to Chrissy, still in the same outfit the night her life was lost.
And now it had seemed to magically return.
At least that's how it seemed to Eddie as Chrissy raised her head from the ground. Her dirty blonde hair seemed to shine as the sunlight hit her face, her eyes shining, ablaze with new life. This was the first time he noticed how truly beautiful she was…
Shaking his head out of his thoughts he stood up to look around. They where in a large open area, a grass field. He knew they where in Hawkins, he could recognize the area around him, but they seemed to have appeared inside a very peaceful area.
A million questions where still running through Eddie's, and no doubt Chrissy's head as well. How did they return from what had to be certain death back to the peace and quiet of this seemingly nature filled world.
"Eddie," he heard Chrissy say "what happened? Where are we?"
Eddie helped her up, taking a moment to look into her eyes, remembering how empty they where the last time he had looked into them.
"I think we're back in Hawkins, or at least close by."
"That's good right? We should go there now and?"
"Wait" Eddie quickly yelled as a sinking realization set in. Chrissy was dead in the eyes of the people of Hawkins and he was the one responsible in their eyes? Them being seen in Hawkins would either lead to immediate arrest or complete and utter hysteria.
"There's something you should know Chrissy" Eddie said as he grabbed both her hands and looked at her.
"What's going on Eddie?" she asked concerned and curious.
"Well the thing is," Eddie had no idea how to bring this news to hair without being as subtle as a freight train "you kind of uhm…died…and they think I killed you."
"WHAT?" Chrissy screamed, causing Eddie to back off slightly. The girl immediately covered her mouth after realizing how loud she was.
"It's been…a hot minute and I don't know how to put it any other way. But if we go into town right now then…well I don't think it would end well if a dead girl and her supposed 'killer' would suddenly show up there."
Chrissy listened attentively to what Eddie was saying, still trying to get her head around the sudden happenings in her home town.
"But if we can just get in contact with someone…like your uncle or Jason…"
"Jason is the one that's hunting and trying to kill me!" Eddie suddenly shouted.
A look of complete disbelief and shock flushed over Chrissy's face. "What…" she mumbled out. Eddie mumbled audibly in frustration "look Chrissy, after you….well died in my trailer they think I killed you! And now the whole town including your crazy boyfriend is after me."
"But you didn't do anything to me….it was…"
Eddie knew what or rather who she was talking about. Placing a hand on her shoulder he simply said "look let's just start walking and we will try to think of something okay?"
Chrissy nodded along with him, still unsure as the pair began walking away from the peaceful spot and went further into the woods in hopes of finding a way and hopefully some answers down the road as well.
Hawkins High had become a safe haven for people whom had lost their homes and livelihoods all around the town after the devastating "earthquake" that had hit the town more than a month ago.
Robin Buckley knew better, she knew everything that was behind it, she had lived it after all. After all this time things had only seemed to have gotten darker.
Working with Vickie had been a small light at the end of the tunnel though.
But Max was still comatose and unresponsive. Eleven and her newly returned family alongside Mike and Will had went off on a mission to investigate the newly created gate, and her Nancy and Steve had been here helping out the people, which they thought was the best thing they could do.
Even Dustin, still grieving Eddie's death did his best to remain resolute in all this.
As she carried a plate of sandwiches around the crowds that where also sitting around the various benches in the hall, she accidently tripped as a kid quickly ran past her, causing her to stumble to the ground, the platter falling out of her hands and clattering on the ground with a loud thud.
"Ugh damnit!" Robin cursed irritated.
"You alright child?" a soft voice asked.
Looking up before her, Robin saw a man standing there. He looked like he was in his mid-40's with shoulder length dirty blonde hair, dressed in neat red clothing with what seemed to be crocodile leather shoes. In his left hand was a fancy looking cane adorned with two crocodile heads. His other hand was extended down to her.
Looking up at him, Robin couldn't help but notice that the man looked strangely familiar.
"Uhm yes…yes I'm fine sir" she quickly said as she accepted the man's offer and took his hand and he helped pull her upwards. As she got up Robin could've sworn she heard a crunching sound, like grass breaking.
As the man had pulled her up he also began to bend down, and Robin once again heard the crunching sound as the man grabbed the platter and proceeded to help out by grabbing the fallen sandwiches and putting them onto the plate.
"You're doing a wonderful thing here dear girl! Helping these lost people, it is truly beautiful you are trying to help them in their time of need" the man spoke as he lifted up and handed Robin back the platter.
Robin accepted the plate nervously as she looked the man up and down, feeling like she had seen him before somewhere but unable to place it.
"Oh it's the least I can do!" Robin said with a nervous expression.
The man smiled at her warmly "it's very touching to see all these people coming together to help those who need it the most. I wish there where more people like you" he spoke up.
Robin looked at the man's cane. At first glance a normal walking cane, but the two crocodile heads on it threw her off. Maybe this man was just eccentric, especially with the way he spoke.
"Well I have to go back to work. Thank you for your help sir" Robin said as she slowly walked around the man, who still warmly smiled at her.
"Oh please, call me Arthur" the man said.
Robin stopped in her tracks. That name…in her head it suddenly clicked, that name, the way he looked so familiar. No it couldn't be….
"What's your name dear girl?" Arthur asked.
Robin's mouth went dry as she spoke "oh it's Robin. Robin Buckley."
The man smiled his warm expression once more "very nice to meet you Robin. Please keep doing what you do? Like I said the world needs more good people like you."
Without turning around she heard the man walk away slowly, the crunching sound she had earlier followed him. Robin barely moved not even as she saw Steve walking towards her.
"Robin what's going on! You look like you saw a ghost!" he said to her.
"Honestly," Robin started, gripping the plate in her hands "I think I might have."
A/N: For those who can spot the connection, I hope you all like it, I find it quite clever. But anyways I'm curious to how this story will progress and how it will expand the series involving this multiverse connecting stories I want to make. Next chapter more Eddie and Chrissy since these two honestly deserve it.
