Disclaimer: I do not own The Walking Dead.

AN: Yeah, I know it's not following the plotline, but I always thought it was shitty that they killed off Sophia. I cannot kill her off.

Chapter 5 - Lori's Reveal

The RV had pulled up into the Greene's driveway and they were met by Shane. He told them what had happened and that Herschel, the owner of the farm, was a doctor and doing surgery on him. The man, Otis, was the one who shot Carl on accident. He had been deer hunting and at just the right moment, Carl came round and scared the deer that Otis had aimed for. Otis was absolutely distraught. He had not meant to shoot the boy. It was a complete accident.

It was almost an hour before Lori and Rick came down with an older white-haired man. Everyone assumed that he was Herschel. He made it known then that they could stay just until Carl was healed and then they would have to leave. They were scraping by as it was and while they were on his farm, they would obey his rules.

"Maggie?" a voice called down the stairs, "I need help with my stitches."

"Calypso?!" Isis and Bastet said loudly.

"Who's Calypso?" Beth asked.

Isis and Bastet ran up the stairs and there standing down the hall was Calypso standing in the doorway of a room. She was pale and tired looking but there was a face splitting smile on her face. She burst into tears at the sight of them. Everyone had followed them up to see what was going on.

"Where did you go? I couldn't find you. I looked all over for you." Calypso said and hugged both of them.

"We tried to find you. We feared that you had been taken by a soldier or had gotten ripped apart by a walker." Bastet said as she cried.

"I got wounded saving Noah." she grimaced in pain.

"Noah's here? Is he ok?" Isis asked.

"Yeah. Knowing him he's hiding. People are not his favorite beings to be around. He's probably with the horses." Maggie chimed in.

"Jade?" Herschel said.

"Herschel, these are my sister's. We got separated when the base was overrun." Jade answered him.

"You told them everything?" Isis asked her.

"Yeah. They're great people. I told them everything when I became conscious." she explained, "I decided I wanted to be Jade again. That way I had no other ties to the Lab."

"It's weird to go by Daphne or Robin. We stayed as Bastet and Isis." Isis said.

"Well, you both were younger than I was when they took you." Jade said and noticed everyone behind them, "Your new family?"

Isis and Bastet glanced back and saw that everyone was there. Merle and Daryl were hanging back. Isis waved them over. They came up closer. Jade quirked her brow at them.

"An outbreak happens and what do you two do? Find dick. Damn after being raised in a lab, I guess it can't be helped." Jade laughed.

"Hahaha, yeah. Jade, this is Dale, Amy and Andrea. Carol and sweet Sophia. Rick, Carl, and Lori. Jim, Glenn, T-Dog, and Shane." Isis said and grabbed Daryl's hand, "And Daryl. He's Merle, Daryl's brother."

"Nice to meet all of you. You two better be good to my little sisters." Jade said with a grimace.

"Let's get those stitches cleaned." Maggie said.

"How well has it healed?" Isis asked.

"Very well. It's just painful." Maggie answered her.

"Thanks for taking care of them." Bastet said to Herschel.

"No trouble at all. They're great kids." he answered as everyone scattered.

The ordeal with Carl had been harrowing but he would pull through. But now that he was on the mend the medical supplies that was used to save him needed to be replenished. Glenn and Maggie had left to do a run. She knew where the closest pharmacy was, and Glenn was so smitten with her and had volunteered to go with her. Lori had given Glenn a small list of items her family and for Carol. While they were gone Daryl, Merle, and Bastet decided to go hunting, they needed food and did not want to impose upon the Greene family more than they were having to. Isis had stayed to help garden and learn more about medicine from Herschel. She had knowledge of it, but it would be put to better use now and she needed to have more under her belt. There was only so much her and Bastet could do with their blood.

The drug on and Isis decided to bring everyone some fruit tea she had learned to make from Beth. It turned out so well. She came round Rick and Lori's tent. Lori was inside crying. She almost did not let Lori know she was there. She felt like she was intruding and did not wish to embarrass her if she wanted this to be a private moment. Then she changed her mind.

"Lori?" she asked as she entered the tent.

"Hi Isis." Lori said and wiped her eyes.

Isis patted her hand and noticed a plastic stick on her lap. Lori saw that she had seen it. With a heavy sigh Lori looked ready to crumple. Isis handed her the glass of fruit tea she had made for her. Lori accepted with a grateful smile.

"I am pregnant." she said and sipped the tea.

"Oh? Why is that making you cry? I mean other than the obvious that this is not a good environment to be having children in." Isis stated.

"Cause I don't know if it is Rick or Shane's." Lori answered truthfully.

"You and Shane?" Isis asked.

"It was a mistake. But at the same time, I was lost, alone, and scared. I thought Rick had died. Even Shane believed that he had passed. If Rick had been with us, I would never have slept with Shane. I love Rick and I don't know what I am going to do." Lori cried.

"Don't worry about it. No one will know. I will help. All that matters is what you need. If you wish to keep the baby, then I can help. It does not matter who is the baby's father. All that matters is that it is happy, healthy, safe, and loved. Right now, you are more important. How can I help?" Isis asked of her.

"I want to keep it. But I don't know how far along I am." she answered, "Rick and I have been intimate. But Shane and I were earlier in the day that you and Rick all arrived. I had my period shortly before that. So, there is really no way to know if it's Shane's or Rick's?"

"Then it does not matter. It is too close to tell. We will wait to tell anyone. I am guessing you found out at the CDC?" she asked of her.

"Yeah. Jenner told me." Lori answered and drank her tea.

"Lori, I want you to have some of my blood." Isis said to her.

Lori's eyes widened and she began to stutter, "W... wh.. why?"

"To protect you and the baby. My blood can keep you and the baby from being infected. I want to start you on weekly doses to help you stay strong. This will also help you have an easier birth. My blood is mixed with vampire and different types of were's. That will strengthen your cells and your body." she expalined.

"Alright." Lori answered looking almost contrite.

Isis slit her wrist and dripped it into the tea. That'll keep Lori from tasting the coppery tang of blood. Lori drank the whole glass. She needed an ally in this life. Her life had gone to shit, and she had just been doing what she could to not go crazy. She had a child that needed her. Lori was scared and in turmoil, she believed that her husband had died. There was no judgment here that she had slept with Shane. Even she needed some comfort. This would just be between them and Bastet. They would help her.

"Get some rest. I'll tell everyone that you are sick." Isis said and Lori nodded.

"Thank you." she whispered.

"You're welcome." Isis retorted.

She was crossing back over to the house when she noticed that everyone was gathered around the well. What was going on? They were staring down into it. A sourness entered her stomach. They would not be staring into it unless someone or something had fallen in or if it was running dry.

"What's up?" she asked as she approached with more tea.

"There's a walker in the well." Shane responded.

"Damn! The water's going to be spoiled." she said.

"Maybe we can get it out?" Jimmy said.

"We'll need someone small." Rick commented looking at Isis.

"Me?" she said and pointed at herself.

"You're the smallest next to Glenn and the children" he answered.

"Alright, if I get torn apart, Daryl will kill you all and Merle will help." she reminded.

Rick held his hands up with a smile and handed her a flashlight. Shane and T-Dog wrapped a rope around her to secure her and be able to pull her up. Shane tied another rope so she would be able to catch the walker and they could pull it up. Slowly and carefully, they lowered her in with the other rope. She shined the light down on the walker to assess the situation better. She noticed that it was bloated and the chances of getting it out with a rope were very slim.

"Hold up!" she shouted up to them, "Pull me back up."

They hauled her back up and as she crested the lip of the well, Rick grabbed her hand and pulled her out. She pulled the rope off and stepped away from the well.

"We can't pull it up. It has absorbed water. If we try to pull it up with a rope it will come apart." she explained.

"We'll need a net." Shane said.

"Damn. Let's ask Herschel." Rick said.

Shane and Rick wandered off to find Herschel. T-Dog and Dale put a cover on the well to keep someone from falling in. The rest of them just wandered off to do their own thing. Amy was with Beth, Jimmy, and Noah; she was learning about the animals. Carol was with Patricia. Patricia was showing her how to slaughter chickens. Carl and Sophia were coloring in some books that Maggie and Glenn had finally returned with. Isis spotted Andrea on top of the RV. She was doing the watch. Isis decided to join her.

"Walker!" Andrea sent up the alarm.

Isis looked across the pasture and saw a stumbling form. Rick and the others came running over to look. It certainly looked like a walker from their position. Andrea was taking aim at the form. Rick told her to wait, they needed to make sure it was a walker. The form needed to get closer. After what happened to Amy. Andrea was not taking any chances on anyone else getting bit. She aimed the rifle and fired just as Rick yelled that it was Daryl. Isis felt her blood run cold when she watched Daryl's head jerk back and he collapsed to the ground. Her body bolted forward. She had never moved that fast before. She ran and cleared the fence. She had to get to him.

"Daryl!" she yelled as she got to him.

He was so still. She checked him over. He had a pulse and thankfully Andrea had only clipped him on the side of the head. But head wounds bled a lot. He had been hurt before then. He was bleeding profusely from his side, and he was very dirty. Where was the horse?

"Rick! He's alive!" she yelled as everyone else was running towards them.

He would die. Isis did not hesitate any further. Her eyes yellowed and she felt her jaw shift and her teeth elongated. She felt ears sprout on her head. She was going to save him. Rick and Shane appeared and attempted to pick him up. They had not even noticed that she had shifted until she snarled at them. They dropped him. Isis licked the wound on his head, and it sealed up. He had cuts on his face, and she licked them as well. Moving down she healed him. She ripped his shirt open to get to the wound on his side. It was deep. He was going to need werewolf venom. The vampire blood voided the venom from changing into a were and vice versa. He would be healed and would never get sick of infected again. They thought she was mauling him. She had straddled him and tore into his neck. That was the quickest way to get the venom to spread around. The jugular vein pumped faster. She injected the venom directly into the vein. Then she licked and sealed the wound she had made.

Then she pulled away. It was done. Now they could move him. Daryl would sleep for 24 hours and then be just fine. Everyone stared at her when she turned to them. The werewolf face was receding. The last to return to normal was her eyes, yellow back to green.

"My god, that's what they did to y'all?" Maggie said in awe.

"Yeah." Isis said quietly.

"Will he be, ok?" Shane asked as he and Rick lifted Daryl.

"He will be more than ok. He will still be Daryl, he'll just want his meat very rare and when he wakes, he will seek me out. The venom will tell him to." she explained.

"Alright then." Rick said and they carried him to the room that Herschel instructed them to.

Andrea was standing there with an alarmed expression. She had just been trying to help and protect everyone. Andrea was radiating sorrow from her form. Isis approached her.

"I'm sorry." Andrea whispered.

"He'll be fine. I'm not angry. After what happened to Amy, it's understandable." Isis said, "Now, I'll let Bastet take care of Merle. He's going to be mad."

"Yeah, he will be." Andrea stated.

"Maybe you should stay in the RV for the time being." Amy suggested and grabbed Andrea's hand.

The sisters left for the RV while Isis trudged back to the Greene's house. It would be better if she was there when Daryl awoke.
