Folowing afternoon, sidney and arnold were wrestling around. Their grandfather sat on the porch, watching over them.

"Tone it down, boys. Wouldnt want you to get hurt."

Taking a sip of his cold light beer and glanced to the door as it opened. Graham's so, casey walked out with another bottle then placed down.

"Thankyou son." casey smiled anc sat down, sipping his light beer. "You did good, son. Both you and your sister have done good."

"Thanks dad." graham smiled and lightly patted caseys knee.

"Come on, son. Let's take a walk."

Both father and son, walked to the barn. Opening the barn doors and stood in the barn door entrance. Casey glanced to his father then back to the vehicle.

"Is this?" slowly walked to the old broken down vehicle. Holding the bottle in-between his thumb and index finger as he walked to the drivers seat then lend in, having a quick look within.

"This still is in good shape, dad." graham lend against the pailing and answered softly after sipping his beer.

"The car is yours, that is if you want it."

"What about joanne?" casey aaked, standing up curiously wondered.

"Well, both of you can discuss about that if you wish."

"Discuss about what?" joanne asked."Is that?"

"Yes, sweetheart. It is the old betty." graham smiled, leaving the barn and the siblings glanced eachother. Joanne was the first to begin the conversation and debate.

"So, are we going to do this or what?" Casey smiled and chuckled. "Pass me tge wrench and let's get started sis."

Joanne smiled. "This is going to be my betty, bro."

Casey chuckled. "All good, I was hopefully for the garley indian instead." Joanne smiled.

"Deal. I'll take the car and you have the bike."

"Alright, let's get fixing."

Graham smiled, walked up the stairs and sat down. Continued to watch over his grandsons while his son and daughter repaired the camero and harley indian. Not long after, both sidney and arnold ran up to the porch and breathed heavily. They heard a bslight rustle in the bish nearby.

"What is that, grandpa?" arnold asked. Graham stood up and said, instructively.

"Sidney, go get my rifle."

Sidney hurried inside, retrieved the rifle as instructed and returned to his grandfathers side then handed the rifle to him.

"Whatever happens, dont run. Stay here, if something happens. Go get grandma."

Both sidney and arnold answered. "Ok grandpa "

Maria walked out, stood in the doorway. Holding the screendoor open. "What is it, graham?"

He didnt answer, held the rifle pointing it down to the bush while waiting. Finally, a frightened dirty injured dog exit out the bush and looked up to graham and hos grandsons.

"Grandpa, it is a puppy." sidney exclaimed alittle.

"He is hurt." arnold said, noticing the injuries.

"Maeia, take the rifle and get some food if you woukd love." graham requested. Maria took the rifle and prepared some fresh food and water for the stray dog.

"Come here, boy. We wont hurt you." gragam gently invited, kneeling down to the dogs level with one open hand. The dog sniffed and stepped back then laid down. Slowly crept toward graham and sniffed his hand then whimpered as he licked his hand.

"You are going to be ok." graham soothed. "What happened to him, grandpa?" sidney asked.

"I dunno, sidney." graham answered.

Three hours later, in the barn. Joanne grabbed the rag cloth and wiped the oul from her hands.

"That'll be it for the day, dont you think so, bro?" Casey nodded agreeing.

"This car may take a week or two to repair. The bike, a week tops Depending on what is needed to be replaced."

Catching the cloth, to wipe his hands as joanne replied. "We are looking at foyr weeks tops right?"

"Thats right but deoends on what is needed." he replied and draped his arm over Joanne's shoulders, walking out.

"Good job sis." joanne chuckled. "Tell me, that after the car is done, bro." Casey smiled, releasing his sister from his draping embrace and closed the barn doors.

The siblings walked together to the house as their sons. Suddenly rushed out.

"That isnt a puppy, that is a grown dog." Casey stated. Joanne knelt down, the frightened dog. The dog cowered away.

Assured the frightened pooch and said. "No collar, no tag."

"Must've been abandoned. casey assumed. "Are we going to keep him?" arnold asked.

"Of course, he is now a jones dog." graham replied. "What are we going to call him?" sidney wondered.

"Spot " graham answered.

Over the following month, casey and joanne worked on the camero and indian. Spot sat beside graham, watching arnold and sidney play on the grass. The once stray, abandoned dog has found a home. Lightly scratched and caressed the dogs ear.

Gragam never thougt he'd like a dog as he did with spot. Their bond was born, the very moment they met. Arnold and sidney called spot to come and play with them but spot suddenly refused.

"Grandpa, spot wont come." sidney disheartly complained. Gragam sighed and said. "It's ok, sidney. Maybe he couod be tired."

Few minutes later, joanne drove the camero out and casey followed on the indian. Gragam smiled proydly, maria smilef as she looked out the window from the kitchen. Maria, never thought to see the day of witnessing a softie in her husband as he once a train robber and she did what any good woman would do. Make it right, giving the money away to charity. Opwning the ladt recieved wnvelope of the charity organization she had donated the money towards and placed the receipt in the small money box.

"Dad! Mum!" casey scooped his son up in his emvrace and said as sidney grabbed his mothers hand. "Where's grandpa?" joanne asked.

"Geandpa is inside with a hurt puppy." Casey and joanne glanced eachother then hurried inside with thier son's. The foursome entered the dining room where their parents nursed and cleaned the stray frightened dog.
