A Second Chance Ch. 5

Looking over the valley, Liz stared down the 400-foot cliff her arms and leg were tired from the climb, needing to take a second to breath in, she could see that Luna was sitting on the edge, with her feet dangling. Pulling out her phone she snapped a quick picture of her. Smiling at her face. "What?"

Looking over her shoulder, she could see that she was typing. "Who are you sending that to?" She wasn't sure that she had Jax's phone number, but that didn't mean much, she was resourceful.

Laughing at her friend, "Gemma." Blinking as she watched the message send. "I can't believe the signal was strong enough." Taking a second to sit down next her friend, leaning closer she snapped another picture of them on the ledge. Sending that one too.

Luna looked over the horizon, "You keep that up, and I think Jax will tie me to the bed." Taking a second to think about it, that didn't seem like such a horrible thing to try, and she did know a few porn stars that could give her tips.

Shaking her head, Liz could almost read her friends mind, "Who knew you were such a freak." Taking a second to look over the landscape, her mind filled with questions, and since they were alone, perhaps she would get some answers.

"Do you miss Happy?" she asked, she knew what transpired between them, but he was the first person she ever fell in love with.

Taken back by her question, Luna paused for a second trying to figure out what was with this question, but as she looked at friend, she could see it was because she was trying to figure out her feelings for the man. "No. Not like that." Leaning back a bit, letting her feet swing over the edge, "We did love each other, but it wasn't mean to be, I wasn't the right one, and he wasn't mine."

Chewing on her lip, Liz could understand she what she was getting at, "So, you think if that you two were meant to be, he wouldn't have freaked out?" Not really understanding why she wanted to know all this, but one thing about her and Luna, they always followed their feelings.

"No, I don't think he would have. When he finds the right one, he'll know. I hope that she's able to handle him, he's different." Smiling at the thought of him happy with his true old lady.

That statement just made her want to know more, "What do you mean different?" She asked, hoping that Luna would fill in some of the blanks. Looking at her face, she wanted to, but because she wasn't an old lady she couldn't, Liz could respect that. "It's because he's the enforcer. They all do things for the club, but he's the one that deals with the darker side of it, right?"

Luna could only nod, "Something like that, yes." Watching her friends face, she could see that she understood, but was more telling she wasn't scared of the fact. Taking a deep breath, while Luna would never break the trust of the SONs, something told her that letting some truths out would be important for Liz to make her choice about getting involved with this life, be it with Happy or another SON that my spark her interest.

Holding her breath, she knew that he was a killer, they all had blood on their hands, but she knew that Happy was different, it was in the way he walked, and held himself. It was a lot to absorb, but if she took in the facts, and what she's learned about them over the last couple weeks, is that yes, they were violent, but unless you were a threat to them or their families, they left you alone. She could respect that, hell she could even understand it.

Leaning back slightly, "Did you figure it out, or did he tell you?" Wondering if he was willing to talk about himself to someone he cared for.

Mirroring her friend, "A combination of both, but when we started to get serious, I told him I wanted full disclosure, and when I asked questions about him, he answered, never pulling any punches." Laying down on the ground Luna watched as the clouds rolled by, knowing that Liz was doing her best to come to terms on her feelings, best guess based on what was in front of her, Luna could see that he sparked an interest, and she was curious about him, but was scared to explore that because of their past.

Letting out a sigh, Luna turned her head slightly, "I want him to find anyone that makes him happy. I don't care where she comes from or who she is, as long as she is loyal not only to him, but to the club." Sitting up, she could see Liz watching her, knowing this was as close as she could to saying go for it without actually saying go for it.

Liz watched her friend, seeing that it was important to her that he found someone for himself that was truly his one and only. "You want him to be happy. I wish I could say that about my ex." She said, her voice holding a little venom in it.

"I really do. While we ended shitty, he was a great person to me, protector, and friend. Even now, he still watches out for me." Turning her head towards Liz, "As for Mark, the difference isn't that he's a high-level account and Happy or Jax are bikers, a man will own his shit, and handle his shit, a boy will blame everyone else around them and make excuses, that's why I want Happy to be happy, he's a man, he owned his fuck up handled it like a real man."

Laying down next to her friend, she couldn't help but smile, while her feelings were still being sorted about her attraction to him, it was good to know that Luna wanted his happiness first. That had to count for something as she sorted her brain out.

Gemma looked down at the pictures that Liz sent her, almost choking on her cigarette, "Jesus. Crazy girls." Looking around the office, she could see her son, Happy, and Opie working on some cars. Wanting to share this bit of information, she stood and made her way to the garage.

"Hey baby. Your future sister-in-law is sending me pics of their time on the mountain." Pulling up the picture, turning to the guys.

Jax snorted, he knew that when he married Luna, he was getting Liz too, it was a package deal. Wiping his hands, he carefully took the phone from his mom. His eyes damn near bugging out of his head, "Fucking seriously? Of course, she is dangling off the edge."

Shaking his head, he handed it to Happy, who instantly saw red. "What the fuck is wrong with them?" he asked the room.

Opie looked at the picture, while it wasn't something that he would do, he could see the joy on their faces, "They look happy. Don't beat them up too bad."

Happy wanted to strangle the both of them, but mostly Liz, he didn't like the idea of her doing something so dangerous. But he heard what Opie said and giving the look that Jax was sporting he was too, "Still a fucking insane hobby."

Gemma watched as her son came to grips that Luna wasn't your typical gal, but Happy, how he reacted, that wasn't about his ex, that was about her friend. That would be a good match, but only if it didn't offend her daughter. When she got back, she was going to take some time to sus out how Luna felt about it. Taking her phone back, she just smiled at the guys, "I have a feeling this isn't even a fraction of what they do for fun."

Unable to contain the laugh at their faces, she turned back and finished up her work in the office and made her way home to make dinner for her and Clay.

Jax finished up his car and made his way to the house, he knew that he was going to have a long conversation with her. While he was certain he could tell her not to do anything like that, he couldn't be that guy at least not to her, she was his partner in this life, is equal and she needed to be treated as such.

Turning to Happy, he could see that he was finishing up his car, "Luna made some lasagna before she left this morning, just need to pop it in, want to come by and have dinner with us?" He asked, knowing that no one ever said no to her food.

"Let me clean up, and I'll meet you there." Turning on his heels, he grabbed his kutte, and made his way to the dorm room. Jumping in the shower, he took a moment to steady himself, if he went in guns blazing, he would probably just piss her off, and whatever this was that he was feeling, would be squashed before he could determine what it was.

Dressing quickly, he made his way out to the bike, he found Ima leaning against it, "Move." He didn't know what he had to do, but before Luna, after Luna, and anytime in between his dick never touched her, and yet, she kept on trying.

Fluttering her eyes at him, "Why don't you let me help you relax." She didn't know why he was so resistant to her, but she was eventually going to wear him down, no one could say no to her forever. Hell, if Luna didn't snag Jax, she would have been in his bed already, but that was a bitch she didn't even want to get involved with.

Anger took over rational thought, stepping into her space, he could see that she thought he was caving, "I don't know what the fuck your problem is, but come at me again, and I'm going to hurt you." Feeling his body vibrate with anger, "Get your rancid ass off my fucking bike, and do not ever touch it again." Smiling when he saw her fear, "MOVE BITCH."

Enjoying how she doubled timed it away from him. Swinging his leg over, he quickly made his way to Jax's and Luna's place, hoping that Liz would stay for dinner, he just wanted to spend some time with her. Even if it was something simple like a family dinner.

Pulling into her driveway, Luna shared a look with her friend, "Seems like we have company." Knowing it who's bike it was.

Liz could feel her heart was racing, "Who's here?" she asked, hoping that it would be Happy.

Keeping her face neutral, "Jax and Hap. You coming or what?" She asked, jumping out of her truck.

Following behind her, she did her best to keep herself from smiling like an idiot, "Free food, yes please."

Walking in, she could see that Luna gave her man a hug, and by the look on his face he was glad she was safe. Her eyes found his dark ones watching her, almost like he was checking her for injuries. She would be lying if that didn't make her feel good.

Doing a quick turn for his amusement, "I'm all good. It was fun. Definitely will be heading back." She said, taking a seat across from him.

Happy could feel his jaw twitching with that bit of information, "Why the fuck would you dangle your asses off the ledge?" he asked, not caring how it came out.

Sharing a look with her friend, Liz smiled and answered, "Cause sometimes, I just like to feel my heart pound out of my chest." Smiling at his face.

He could feel his body respond to that, his first thought was he could make her heart pound out of her chest, but instead he bit his cheek. "You're fucking nuts. I like that." Leaning back, he could see her blush at that.

Liz couldn't help the blush that crept across her face, "Well, I guess it's a good thing that you do, don't plan of leaving so you'd have to get used to my ass at some point anyway."

Liking that she had every intention on staying, but as the thought crossed his mind, he knew at some point, he'd need to talk to Luna, cause if it came down to getting some amazing pussy or disappointing her, he'd leave it alone.
Laying in her spare room, Liz couldn't help but wonder why he seemed so attentive to her tonight, but it felt nice. Letting out a sigh, she knew that something was going to need to be done, her first and foremost thought was to run as far away from the man as quickly as possible, another taking in what Luna said earlier, she just wanted him to be happy, she didn't give a fuck who or how it happened. Rolling over, she wrapped her arms around the pillow, her last thought before she fell asleep was his dark eyes watching her as she took her truck home. Almost that he was disappointed that he couldn't help her out.

After a week of construction in her home, they were finally done, and as she looked around her house, from the guest rooms to her master suite, everything was perfect. She could hear her phone going off, dashing to it, she saw that it was her alarm telling her it was time for work.

Looking over the room, the only thing that she needed to do was put the last box of pictures on the wall, but everything else was done. Jumping in the shower, she quickly showered, and shaved, tonight was a party and after a long discussion, she and Luna agreed that it was time to show everyone on that lot, that they weren't the bitches to fuck with.

As put her scrubs on, she laid out her outfit for the night, wanting it to be something that she could move in, but still look great in. Smiling at her jeans, they were dark wash and tight, the shirt was the hardest part, she didn't want her tits to come popping out in the middle of everything, but she settled on a tight leather shirt she bought when she went to Daytona for bike week, figured it would give her free range of movement, and it would hold everything in place. Looking over the clothes that she laid out, she smiled and made her way out the door to work.

It was a good day, nothing too serious, and for the most part no major emergencies in the L&D department, for which Liz was grateful for. She really wanted to go out to the clubhouse tonight and was pleased that she didn't have to change her plans. Clocking out, could see that Luna was making her way to the truck.

Luna could see her friend jumping into her Jeep, "You still coming to the party tonight?" she asked, but she knew the answer.

Unable to keep the smile of her face, "Hell yes, make sure you wear something functional; I'm counting on you lover." It was important for her to make a great impression amongst the club, not only with her confused feelings for Happy, but with Luna being the President's old lady, she wanted people to know that she had her back too.

Laughing at her statement, Luna knew that this was important to her. "You're insane you know this right? But yes, functional. Hey, do me a favor, remember the rules."

"FINE, but you better bring it." With that Liz headed towards her house and Luna made her way to hers. This was going to be an interesting night.

Leaning against the table, Liz couldn't help but laugh at how protective Jax was about Luna, if he only knew, but that's what tonight was supposed to be about, showing them that they were able to handle their own shit, and that Luna was more than worthy of standing with him. As her eyes took in the lot, she found a group of croweaters giving her a mean look, shaking her head, well, in a little bit they were about to find out why that would be a really shitty idea.

Pushing herself off the post, she made her way towards Luna, but as she moved, she bumped into Happy, "Shit, sorry." Looking up at his amused face, "For someone so big, you don't make a lot of noise." She said, keeping a smile on her face.

Happy looked down at her with a smirk, "Keeps people from hearing me when I sneak up on them." He said, only half-jokingly.

Liz couldn't help but snort, "Nice. So perhaps someone should get you a bell. For when you're not planning on sneaking."

"You could try but won't end well." He teased, giving her a glance. He liked what he saw, she was gorgeous, and not like the other bitches on the lot, her body was sexy, but it was real. Shaking his head, his eyes found her watching him, enjoying the smile that was on her face. It was for him.

Liz could see that he was studying her, not that she minded, she knew that she was hot. "Well, I guess I better not try then." Giving him a slight nod, she made her way over to Luna. But as she moved, she could feel him watching her, it sent shivers down her spine. Oh boy.

Luna watched their interaction, knowing him better than most, she could see that he was interested in her, but she knew she couldn't be involved, not directly anyway. After this little show, she would tell Gemma, and let her loose on the pair, she really did love playing match maker.

Seeing that Liz was walking up to her, "What's up?" she asked, knowing that she was ready for a little fun.

Shrugging her shoulders, "Not too much," taking a deep breath, her eyes finding Jax, "So, can anyone use the ring, or is it only for the boys?" she asked, slightly teasing him.

Jax was a little surprised by the question, he looked around the table and got a bunch of shrugs, well if they didn't have an issue, "No, I guess you can play too. Who you wanna fight?"

Smiling sweetly, "Your old lady." Turning towards her friend. "I mean if she's up for it."

Luna couldn't help but snort, "Bitch, it's been a long time since I actually had to work hard at pining someone." Jumping down off the table, "you good with that Jax?" she asked. She knew he would be torn about it, but he wouldn't hold her back.

Opie was shocked, he really wanted to see someone try to take Luna on. "Dude, let them."

Even Otto who was all about female not fighting, wanted to see it, "Hell yea."

Jax looked over at his girl, she was waiting for his answer. He nodded.

But Tig could always be counted on to say some dumb shit. "None of this hair pulling shit, if you're stepping in the ring, step in the ring."

Luna and Liz both looked at him, their faces both screaming, SERIOUSLY?

The guys caught the looks on their faces and knew that if it wasn't for the respect, that they showed the Kutte, they would have slapped the shit out of him.

Even Tig cringed under their stare.

Luna turned to her friend and nodded, it was time to not only show these bitches that she and Liz weren't to be messed with, but also the club. While she loved them, and their male protectiveness Luna and Liz could take just about anyone on the lot.

The girls walked together towards the ring earning several looks from members and hang rounds. They climbed up at the same time and ducked under the rope, it was like a choreographed movement.

Liz didn't bother looking around, she knew how deadly Luna was, her father spent a great many hours training the both of them. But if she was being honest, Luna had a little bit of an advantage, she lived with her Army Ranger father, so she had 100% access to him, while she got a few hours a day with the man.

Luna looked over, "Don't bite me again, I hate that shit." She said, trying to lighten the mood, while they knew that they weren't going to intentionally hurt the other, it was always important to keep the friendship intact.

Liz shrugged, "I was 12, you were sitting on me." She retorted. It wasn't her most honorable move, but SGT. Erickson always told them to use what you can, it wasn't about honor in a life or death situation.

"Ready?" she asked.

Liz nodded, "Ready."

A tense moment between them they gave each other a final nod. That was all it took.

Luna knew that Liz was an aggressive fighter, she was always one to strike out first, seeing the first punch, she was able to duck and use a small palm strike to her stomach sending Liz back a few steps, wanting to keep her off balance for as long as she could, Luna dropped down to sweep her leg, but Liz was able to jump over it and swing her leg towards her face, putting her hands up she blocked the kick and grabbed her ankle, putting one hand on the floor she pushed herself up to give her a donkey kick but Liz blocked it. Both girls rolled back and stood up, staring at each other.

Coming together again, they battled for dominance in the ring, getting some jabs in here and there, but no one was over taking the other, they were evenly matched, after about 10 minutes of this Luna saw her opening, she let Liz grab her and put her in a choke hold, lifting her leg straight up, she was able to hit her friend in head, slightly disorienting her. Turning quickly she jumped and used both of her feet to hit Liz in the chest causing her to stumble back, as her back hit the mat, she swung her legs over her and used her arms to flip her back on her feet, she ran towards Liz jumped high and wrapping her legs around her neck, using the momentum she swung out her using her legs to stay attached to Liz and brought her down to the floor, she wrapped her hands around her neck and put her in a choke hold.

Liz knew that she was beat, lightly tapping on her arm she felt Luna let go. Quickly getting up she could see the concern on her friend's face, "I'm fine. Damn short stuff, where the fuck you learn that little move?" she asked. Impressed with the move, knowing that she was going to do what she could to master it herself. It was important for her to be able to keep up with Luna.

Catching her breath, she shrugged, "I just thought of it, didn't think it would work."

Liz laughed, "Dude, seriously? Only you could come up with a move like that on the fly. I kind of hate you."

Luna couldn't help but laugh, "No you don't you love me."

Liz just smiled, "Meh. Maybe." Letting out a deep breath, she looked around, seeing the lot watching them, but it was Happy that was staring at her. Carefully stepping out of the ring, she could see that Jax was tossing his girl over his shoulder, not being able to stop laughing at the sight.

Moving in between people, she found her path blocked by someone. Looking up, she found Happy staring down at her, "Can I help you?" she asked, hoping that her voice came out light.

Happy watched the fight between them, it was one of the most erotic things he's ever seen, his eyes never leaving Liz. Taking a quick look around the lot, he could see some of the unattached members of the club were eyeing her, and that wasn't going to work, she was his, and he be damned if he lost her to another brother.

Making his way over to her, he could see her eyes watching him, almost like she was waiting for something, not even thinking about what the consequences would be, he needed her, and if he had to fight for her, he would even from Luna. He'd prove to not only Liz that he was worthy, but Luna as well.

Hearing her question, something in him snapped, without saying a word, he quickly grabbed her arm, swatting her ass as she squealed, turning on his heels, he made his way towards his dorm, by the end of this night, she would know that she was his.
