The next morning Yuta found you using a butter knife to stab your bracelet off your wrist. You were determined as it showed on your face, but the butter knife wasn't working. The tip kept bending like the bracelet was made out of indestructible metal.

"Fuck me…" you quiet cursed under your breath, putting the butter knife down as you leaned back in your seat. You were tired of the bracelet and the menacing things it will do to you.

"Is it that awful to be near me?" Yuta said, approaching your distraught figure.

It shocked you how he said that to you. You didn't really say it out loud. It's more like an inconvenience since there's a restricted boundary nobody can cross. You batted your eyes at him before replying, "I never said that. I just want my privacy when it comes to the bathroom. It's uncomfortable having to drag someone in there so we both aren't shocked, you know? But clearly Gojo didn't think that through…" you sighed, hoping for this whole vacation week to be over with.

"No, he did. He knows what he was doing when he decided to slap the bracelets on us."

"You're right, but look at the set of clothes on the table. Gojo hand picked everything and took our original clothes back with him since we're in our pjs. Read the little note attached to it too!" You already saw and read it. You're surprised that he dropped it off in the room without waking anyone up. You're mad you didn't catch him in the middle of the night.

Yuta approached the table as you instructed. There laid two sets of clothes: one for you, one for Yuta and a handwritten letter. He picked up the letter and read it to himself, assuming you read it before him.

"'I picked out some cute clothes. Wear it. You have no choice. You guys didn't bring any extra clothes.'" Yuta said out loud, not understanding why you guys couldn't wear your usual school clothes. "Gosh…" This bummed Yuta out. Gojo's really limiting people's choices in this vacation.

Yuta grabbed his set and it was basic. A tank top with a tropical printed button up shirt and shorts. It wasn't a bad stylistic choice for the hot weather here.

"Ah, I guess I'll grab my sundress that I don't want to wear." You lifted the plain colored sundress which Gojo picked out, and you didn't like it. The cami dress showed too much skin for your liking. "I'd rather get a heat stroke over this."

Yuta preferred you not to be sent to the hospital so he offered you his button up shirt. "You wanna wear this to cover yourself?"

Your lips pursed and you shook your head. "No thanks. I don't want you to be chilly if the sun disappears. So keep it. I'll just hug myself, don't worry about it too much."

On day two, you guys were going to visit historical sites in the area. You didn't expect yourself to be highly captivated by the architecture and history surrounding it. You roamed aimlessly staring at artifacts, clothings, furniture, arts, and many more.

"Y/n, hold up!" Yuta shouted, trying to catch up to your hasty speed. He didn't want to know how it'd feel to get shocked.

You really liked how the displayed items had so much value because it's old and held significance. It's cool that it's been preserved for a long time.

"This vase is very pretty," you looked over at Yuta and pointed at the large neutral toned vase with intricate designs. "I can't believe it's been in this house for a long time. Someone can steal it and resell it for billions!"

Yuta knitted his brows, concerned if you had a mischievous plan in your head. "Uhhh, I hope you're not planning on doing that because I will run."

You snickered because he didn't see it as a joke. "No, of course not! I'm not bold enough and besides I'm not about that life either! But I do wanna touch everything I see though." You touching things at the historical site made you feel like you were thrown back into that time. It made you feel excited and amazed, that's all.

Yuta saw a bright light twinkling in your eyes every time something caught them. He hasn't seen your eyes turned like that before but he would admit it's gorgeous on you. "It makes you look so much happier…" Yuta said out loud and you whipped your head around in confusion.

"What? What did you say?" You stopped everything to focus on him. He said something directed towards you, and you wanted to know. "What makes me look so much happier, huh?"

Yuta felt sweat dripping down at the back of his neck, knowing he got caught. He wasn't gonna fight and deny or else it'll make matters worse. "You. The way you're smiling and looking happy to be here is not the face I see often and wish it can happen more. It makes you look gorgeous…" His ears turned red after saying it all as well as you. You were speechless and shocked. His honesty made your face blow up red like the sun was burning down on you.

BA-THUMP!

Your heart fluttered profusely, and you ripped your eyes off from him, turning on your heels to face away. Your eyes landed on the marble flooring, showing your reflection. You could see how red you looked and it wasn't cute.

I need some fresh air! What Yuta really said affected me and I look like a fool for letting it get under my skin!

Without saying a word to him, you totally forgot about the five feet boundary that you began striding away with big steps. You didn't want to be around Yuta after this conversation. You wanted to be alone for a few minutes.

However, Yuta quickly grabbed your arm, preventing you from leaving. You didn't look over your shoulder but kept your head straight. "Hey! We both know we're going to get shocked if you continue walking away."

You heavily sighed from your nostrils as your shoulders slumped down. "Okay, can we eat lunch now?" You wanted to do anything to forget about feeling embarrassed and shy.

/

After lunch, Yuta needed to use the bathroom. This was when you set your boundaries when it came to public bathrooms. "Ummm, no. I'm not going inside with you. I don't want the cops called on me because Gojo screwed us up. I'm willing to get shocked." It dreaded your mind just thinking about being in the men's bathroom. You'd stand out like a sore thumb because you're not a guy. Maybe if you were able to dress like one, you'll pass as one but you're not gonna take that route even if you had to.

It's interesting how it's always Yuta who has to use the bathroom more than you. He uses it more frequently and you're not too concerned about your own body. You just don't have the urge to go so you shouldn't force it.

You leaned against the wall next to the men's bathroom entrance and waited for him.

In the bathroom, Yuta finished his business fast so he wouldn't keep you waiting. He zipped up his shorts and made his way to the sink. He turned on the warm water and wet his hands before getting soap.

Then a hoodie man came out of the stalls and stood next to Yuta, washing his hands as well. Yuta didn't care to look or be bothered. So he proceeded to the hand dryer at the wall and made sure it was dried before exiting. He moved his hand back and forth and flipped it to the backside to get everything.

Yuta's mind was occupied as he let his guard down. There could go wrong in the bathroom until he felt a small tap on his shoulder.

"Yes?" The moment Yuta looked over behind him, sparkly dust was blown into his face and he panicked. Yuta coughed loudly, swatting the air to get the particles out of his face. He didn't dare to inhale anymore than he did. He wasn't going to risk having his lungs be filled with whatever was thrown into his face.

What the hell was that?! That scared the crap out of me! What's wrong with people?! Yuta was agitated because it came out of nowhere as he didn't disrespect anyone.

Once the dust cleared up and his lungs were cleaned, Yuta stared at the hoodie man who did this and all the man had to say was disappointing. "Confetti…?" The hoodie man pointed at the confetti pieces on the ground which perplexed Yuta even more. Without saying a word to the hoodie man, Yuta just left. He didn't want to know anymore; he wanted to leave and made sure he's far away from the weirdo.

When Yuta made it to where you were, you noticed a confused look on his face like he was contemplating on life choices.

"What's wrong? You have a sour look on your face." You've never seen that type of look on Yuta's face before and began walking away from the bathrooms.

Yuta shook off his jitters and told you what happened in the bathroom.

"What the hell? That's scary but it turned out to be a prank? This is why I don't like interacting with people or just going out. You come across weird people like that! At least you're okay, but either way you could've beaten him up or something. Don't worry about it. I don't think it was anything serious or life threatening." You believed Yuta should've chosen violence since the man chose to act out like that.

On your way to your next destination, you guys came across a festival that wasn't on the itinerary.

"It looks fun, let's go check it out." You tugged Yuta's shirt and pulled him into the crowd. You've never been to a festival so you wanted to take a look. You had a gut feeling that it's going to be great with food and items.

This took Yuta by surprise to see how intrigued you were. Usually nothing ever caught your eyes until now, but he doesn't blame you since you've been isolated. Your hand never let go of the hem of his shirt. He found it adorable that you're holding on to him like a baby to 1) protect yourself from getting ripped away from Yuta and 2) not trying to get shocked.

Your head turned in all directions, amazed by the sites and what they offered. Hanging lights were lit as it was evening, and many games were out for people to play with but the lines were so long that you didn't want to wait. Maybe next time you'll do it when it's closer to home.

"You know we can wait, right? We're not being rushed so if you want to play games we can." Yuta said like he read your mind. He wanted you to have fun and enjoy this lovely vacation.

However, you shook your head and refused. "No it's okay. I'm an impatient person when it comes to waiting. Next time…" Then another attraction caught your attention. In the middle of the festival were people dancing with loud music blasting. They were joyous, smiling and twirling around in high spirits. Nobody looked out of place as they kept the same energy while changing dance partners.

"Let's take a closer look," Yuta ushered, noticing your interest.

You and Yuta squeezed through the crowd of people who watched as well. You were bumping shoulder to shoulder to get to the front, keeping a vice grip on him to make sure you're not lost in the crowd.

"Come on. We're almost there!" Yuta looked over his shoulder, making sure you were right behind him, but he quickly took a hold of your wrist and pulled you closer to him. This was much better than having you cling onto his shirt.

Your heart beated loudly in your chest as you were closer to him now than ever. Your eyes looked upwards, glancing at his side profile. Yuta didn't notice your stares because he was busy trying to push through people so you could see. For some odd reason, you just thought the angle you viewed at him made him look very handsome. You could see the line of his curved nose and lips and flared lashes looking up. Just gaping made your skin feel all flustered and hot, which you quickly ripped your eyes off him.

Keep it together, y/n…! Don't let his looks rattle you up!

"Wow, look at them! I'm glad we were able to move up here!" Yuta snapped you back into reality as you guys were at the frontline, watching the people dance.

You nodded your head in agreement. "Yeah, you're right. It looks better up close than afar." You could better see everyone's expression as they stared deeply into their partner's eyes. You knew the dancer's chemistry was something no one can replace in another dance partner. It's like they found their soulmate and trading off partners within the dance routine gave everyone a different energy.

Suddenly as more onlookers wanted to see the performance, you and Yuta were pushed into the dancing circle as a result. You guys froze in place, being welcomed with bright and warm smiles. The dancers were ecstatic that you two voluntarily joined the fun.

"Oh shit," You murmured, making eye contact with Yuta.

"Damn…" Yuta's eyes grew wide to indicate his fear as his lips had an uncomfortable smile.

A dancer twirled their way to you and gestured you guys to dance with them, but you and Yuta shook your heads and denied their request. Needless to say, it was already too late. You two were in the lion's den and had to participate. You had onlookers, staring daggers at you guys, waiting if you're going to accept their invitation. There's enough pressure to go around from the dancers and watchers.

Then another dancer attempts to bring you guys in and separate you two as they bee-lined to you and Yuta.

I can't let them separate us or else one of us is going to get shocked, and y/n wouldn't want to be touched by others too. We have no choice but to do it… As much as Yuta didn't want this, it was already too late to back out and run.

"Sorry, y/n. We have no choice but to dance."

"But I don't know how to dance!" You frantically exclaimed, feeling your blood pressure rising and anxiety skyrocketing. You wished you could hide in a shell and be a turtle. You're too shy and embarrassed to make a fool out of yourself.

"Neither do I, but let the music guide us okay? Follow my lead."

"That's the cheesiest thing you said all day!" You brows knitted from how Yuta's attitude switched. At first, he sounded unsure and scared but now he's confident. You're confused as to who's really Yuta behind this facade. There's no way he could quickly switch up and be a know-it-all dancer.

"I'm sorry for advance!"

"What?" For a moment of uncertainty, you couldn't comprehend his words until Yuta snaked his arm around your waist and held your hand as you put your other hand on his shoulder. Then he pressed you against his chest, so you're now close and personal. This took your breath away, not really expecting so much intimacy. You could feel his heart vibrating against your chest as it was nervous too. You locked eyes with him and he only gave you an apologetic smile.

"Ready?"

"No," you whispered out, scared to be made out like a fool for not knowing how to dance. It's enough to be forced into doing this, but being a laughing stock will be more traumatizing and unforgettable.

Yuta let out a chuckle and reassured you that everything will be fine. "No need to worry. I got you,"

You felt his hot breath gliding down your face and neck, causing your heart to skip a beat. His confidence eased your mind and you let Yuta take control.

The music played and Yuta followed the dancer's rhythm and style. He twirled you around like a princess having her first dance while being very gentle. Meanwhile you weren't as gentle as he was. You didn't do this on purpose, you had two left feet and you kept stepping on his aching toes. You weren't able to match the female dancers. "I'm sorry!" You apologized, knowing very well after this, Yuta's going to have many broken toes.

Yuta held in his cries because your heavy steps were painful and kept a bright expression on his face. "It's alright! Reverse cursed technique, right?" He knew he'll definitely heal from this incident.

Under the yellow fluorescent light as the sky shifted to its purple-blue night, your heart fluttered, noticing how handsome Yuta looked even if he had eyebags. But his main feature was his consistent smile. He's always smiling when he's with you and always calling your name whereas you don't say his name often.

Everytime Yuta had the opportunity to glance at you during the dance recital, his smile would get bigger and wider like he enjoyed seeing your lit up face. Consuming the sight of him, it gave you uncontrollable butterflies in your stomach and comfort and warmth for the first time in forever like he washed away your past and made you see the rainbow after a storm. All the positive and good energy from people cheering you guys on made you beam a bright smile from your heart as you're groovin with the music and having fun. You turned on a switch you never experienced before and you loved it; you felt refreshed with excitement.

On the other hand, Yuta's heart beated fast as he never saw this side of you where you're tense-free. There's a glow to your complexion and beautiful smile. His heart went doki-doki as he's enthralled by your beauty under the lights. Yuta wanted to see you like this all the time. He captured this moment in his mind, making sure to remember this fun day with you. Your animated movements, speedy pace, giggles from your upturned lips, and dazzling wide eyes made him feel spectacular.

It was already time to go to bed once you guys returned back into your room. The dance drained you two from the core. You didn't know what took over you. It was a good exhaustion that will give you a restful night's sleep.

You and Yuta laid in bed, necks turned to look at each other with a big grin. "I had fun." You said, replaying the festival dance in your head. You wanted to relive it soon as it gave you a different taste of adrenaline coursing through your blood.

"I did too! We were so shy, and even though we may have messed up, the crowd cheered us on." Yuta was surprised the crowd wasn't going to boo at you guys for the terrible yet attempted dancing. It boosted more reasons to let loose and have fun.

When Yuta brought that up, you didn't even know that. You were fixated on his face because you didn't have the heart to rip away from his features. "Oh wow that's good. But I've got to say, you're a good dancer, Yuta." The way you said his name caused him to gulp. It sounded so foreign and sweet like honey coming from your voice. As weird as it was, Yuta wanted you to say his name again as you rarely said it. But he knew he couldn't ask for that. He didn't want to resemble a creep.

"I… N-no not really!" Yuta stammered, trying to keep his head cleared from his intrusive thoughts. "I copied everyone to fit in and it worked!"

"Haha, yeah. It sure did! I hope we can do it again soon. I'm going to sleep first. We're going to have a long day tomorrow too." As much as you wanted to talk about the amazing dance, you were way too tired to keep yourself awake. You knew you could have this conversation again tomorrow.

"Alright, goodnight." Yuta watched you turn to your side, letting your back face him.

The second day was a success and Yuta saw the shift of your personality from day one. He believed the relationship between you two was improving rapidly. He couldn't wait until it was completely resolved.

/

In the middle of the night, you were half asleep when your sensitive hearing picked up some shuffling noises coming from Yuta's side of the bed. You didn't know what was going on, but your brain came to a conclusion that he was having a bad dream. You knew this very well because it occurred for you too.

"Yuta, quiet it down. You're too loud." You muttered, pulling the blanket towards you as your eyes relaxed under the dim lights.

Then you heard something heavy like metal fall down, forcing you to wake up and see what's going on.

You didn't think too much as you sat up and rubbed your eyes. It annoyed you how you're not getting your proper sleep like what you intended. "Yuta, what's going on—?!" The moment you turned to look at his side, you were greeted by an unfriendly katana blade beside your neck. Your eyes enlarged and your blood turned into ice. You weren't sure what's happening, but this wasn't a joke and more like a threat. "Yu…ta?"

In front of you was not the Yuta you knew. The dimmed lights showed you a possessed person who took over his body. Yuta's eyes were completely black with Rika summoned behind him like he's going to attack an enemy who was you.

"I'm going to kill you, Geto!" Yuta shouted in malice, gripping his handle tightly as the katana itself did not waver in hesitation but determination.

You wanted to shed tears from this turn of events because you knew what's wrong with him. You've seen this before. This was your uncle's cursed technique, and you're unsure how this even happened or how Yuta got into contact by his cursed technique. It left you with unanswered questions.

Approaching this situation, you forced yourself to remain calm despite feeling scared as shit. You obviously knew Yuta would kill you due to the spell he's under and he's a strong sorcerer. You tried to sound as strong as possible. Showing weakness will make matters worse. "Yuta, this isn't real; this is a nightmare. Drop your weapon and tell Rika to leave. We don't want to cause destruction because there's civilians in this building." You tried pleading with him and slowly tried to lower down his sword, but he refused and created a light cut to your neck. Blood dripped down and stained the collar of your shirt.

Shit… Yuta's gone. I know it. He's not consciously there! He's been taken over! You panicked in your spot.

"I've killed you once. I'm going to do it again and protect the people I care for!" Yuta yelled at the top of his lungs and you knew he meant business. As long as he has his sword and Rika

by his side, you're not going to fight him. It's one outmatched battle to begin. This room was small for you to do anything and lives will be lost too.

Biting your lips, you needed to escape to keep everyone safe. Yuta saw you as 'Geto' the moment he laid his fully blackened orbs on you. You pitched yourself to bring your muscles together and threw the pillow at Yuta and the blanket at Rika to stall time. You bolted to the patio and jumped, running away.

"Fuck! Shit!" You cursed, falling on your knees as you're being shocked by the bracelet. It felt like the voltage was increasing in a matter of seconds or it's just your head playing tricks on you. Nonetheless, making a run for it wasn't going to plan. You're not going to get far by you falling and limping, not to mention how loud the shocks were too. At least you can hold in your screams.

Your body tingled and felt numb in some areas. It hurts to walk, feeling like you're stepping on shards of glass. "Come on, y/n!" You were on your fours, staring at the concrete as you barely had the energy to move. "Yuta will kill you if you don't run any further!"

"How dare you hurt my precious Yuta!"

You heard Rika shouting many feet away as you looked over your shoulders. You knew from a rough estimate of her echo, they're getting closer to you. Feeling your fast heart beating in your chest, you mustered the strength to keep running even if it's hurting you.

Your body instinctively curled itself from all the shocks it was receiving. It wasn't getting used to it whatsoever which made running even worse. Eventually, you found an abandoned building to take cover and think about your next move.

"I don't have my phone on me. I left it at the place! I'm not going to let Yuta kill me, so I have no choice but to fight him because I can't call for help! Or I can get hurt multiple times for the next 24 hours, but that's going to be traumatizing… Fuck, do I even remember how to summon my beasts?!" Being in a frenzy mode, your brain was locked in fear as you were pressured to know your next move. You're all clammy and paranoid because you've never been in a position like this.

You cranked your head up, looking around to see what this place can be useful for. You're trying to see if you're able to utilize any random items here to help defend yourself even more. In your eyes, you felt like you were inside a horror movie. You hated this. You hated the suspense because the shocking pain was gone so you knew he's near within five feet.

BA-THUMP

Your heart rang in your ears, making you look in all directions of where Yuta will come through to kill you. The only thing you could hear was your own breathing terrifying you. "Where will they come from…?" You kept repeating this to yourself, trying very hard to multitask as you're figuring a way to summon your beast under this intense fear in your body.

Suddenly…

BOOM!

A loud breaking noise erupted the room as you screamed from the swift and aggressive attack of Rika throwing you at a metal staircasing.

THUMP!

Your body crashed against the staircase and it caused some type of damage for you. Your whole body ached, especially your back and rib cage. It felt sensitive and brittle. But there was no time to stop and look at your body because you sensed Rika's presence from behind and you ran with a limp.

"Come on stupid technique! Summon my damn beast to protect me from Rika!" In sheer luck and determination to not be slain by Rika, you managed to summon your beast and let your phoenix fight Rika. You stumbled back still maintaining your balance as you watched your beast easily deflect Rika's moves. "That will keep her busy… Shit…" A wave of pure exhaustion hit your body from creating your beast. It's been a hot minute since you built your stamina so it's back to zero again. You felt your body telling you to fall on your knees and take a break but you couldn't afford to do that when you still have Yuta left. Gulping your saliva down your dry throat, you wiped off the sweat on your face whether it was from dread or your body telling you it's not going good after using your power.

"You're not a coward, Geto… Running away isn't your style!"

The hairs on your body rose as Yuta was behind you. You didn't need eyes at the back of your head to know he's pointing his weapon at your brain. "Ahh…" You shakily breathed, feeling your body trembling a bit and turning on your heels to face him. You were far enough where people wouldn't get hurt so whatever happened, it'll get bloody.

What's so deadly about your uncle's technique is when attacked, your vulnerability is penetrated and your biggest fear will play out in 'real life'. It's an illusion to help the wielder kill you from the inside out. It also can be used against your allies because under the spell, you view them as the monsters in your nightmare. The unfortunate person wouldn't know they're fighting their allies until they're completely dead or they survive 24 hours of brutal hell, and the person remembers the kill after the spell is gone. To know if one's under the influence is when their eyes turn black, and it's hard to bring the person back to their senses. Most times it's not easy to break free, but if you can, you'd have to be a mentally strong person to know what's real and what's not. The only drawback of this cursed technique, there's a 24 hours wait period of when it can be casted and it's one person per day.

You didn't care if your Yuta wasn't here because you're going to defy his reality and tell him the truth even if it can't get through his bewitched head. You weren't in good shape to produce anymore of your beasts. One was enough to drain you, but the thing that actually worsened your physical state was the constant shocks sending your body haywire. You'd prefer if Yuta didn't try 'killing' you while passed out. It's a horrible thought.

"Yuta, I'm not Geto. I'm y/n! Whatever happened in your past is done! It's gone! You're safe!" You shouted, sluggishly evading his crisp slices in the air. Your unsteady movements made you much slower and showcased your tiredness.

Yuta didn't say anything but swung at you, giving you small cuts on your arms and legs. You winced from it and quickly grabbed a pipe to defend yourself. Despite your arms turning into jelly, you blocked his blade from killing you as your muscle memory recalled Maki's teaching and you read his next future movements until you were reminded you're still an amature.

DRIP DRIP DRIP

You dropped the pipe on the ground, feeling your shirt getting really wet at the right side of your waist. Heavy puffs escaped your opened mouth as you scanned why you're wet. When you looked down, your eyes met the dark color expanding on your shirt. It took you a minute to realize that you've been deeply wounded and the funny thing was, you couldn't even feel the agonizing sensation of your flesh throbbing. Your body normalized this familiar pain.

"Fuck me… I'll be okay…" You rapidly blinked, forcing yourself to stay awake. You can't pass out. "I'll—!" You gasped and felt Yuta's blade plunge into your heart as the final blow. Your delayed response caused your carelessness and blood gurgled out your mouth and down your neck.

Staring from the katana to Yuta, you guys were face to face in each other's personal bubble. You knew the cursed technique was broken because the ally will have to die. You chuckled from this bizarre night and cupped his face with your trembling hands. "I… I really had fun today, Yuta…" You saw his beautiful eyes returning back to his body. "Yuta, I'm done being mad at you… It's… It's not good for my health… I'm over it," You said in a hushed tone.

Immediately, Yuta regained his consciousness and was appalled by what he's done to you. "Y/N! Y/N!" He was disgusted with himself. He couldn't believe he did this. His actions were unforgivable. There's no way he could beg for your forgiveness. Without giving a single thought, Yuta pulled the blade out from your chest which caused more bleeding. Of course Yuta knew you're not supposed to pull objects out from wounds but his compelling emotions made him forget common sense of first aid.

Tears welled in Yuta's eyes and he cried, pulling your falling body in his arms as his salty tears dripped on your face. "I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to kill you!" Distraught, Yuta couldn't help but apologize and feel guilty. He didn't understand why he couldn't protect you but always found a way to hurt you. He knew he wasn't fit to be your bodyguard.

You tiredly rolled your eyes at him, coughing out blood before speaking to him. "I know you didn't mean to 'kill' me. It's not your fault so shut up. You were going to hurt me regardless, so stop crying. It doesn't suit you." You lifted your hand up and wiped his tears away, leaving a streak of your blood under his eyes. "You're too strong for me, Yuta. I need to train harder to be like you. Can we cut our trip short and go home? I'm tired… Let me sleep," A small grin tugged your lips as you closed your eyes.

You're a loophole in your uncle's cursed technique…
