Chapter 18: The Don
(Location: Seventh Heaven Bar Sector 7 slums Midgar Planet Gaia)
There are many types of people that Barret doesn't like; cocky arrogant idiots that can't back up their claims, perverts, Corneo of Wall Market, anyone that works for Shinra, which is a must, and anyone that works for the press.
The press will always put him in a bad mood. Whenever he saw news broadcast that's sucked up to Shinra, praising and supporting them like they're god's greatest gift to Gaia, it only made the Avalanche Leader sick to is stomach. It was also the reason why he had a rough time accepting the Ex-SOLDIER. But boy was he wrong. It took him a while, but Berret realized that the spikey-haired merc is really a good person at heart.
So here he was, seated in one of the bar's tables doing an interview with one of those ass kissers. He actually agreed to do this because the information he got helped Jessie, and if Jaune was right about her, he could help in spreading the footage they captured in Mako Reactor 5.
The dark-skinned kept staring at the journalist Emma who kept writing on her note pad. Question after question she asked him, it was starting to annoy him. But he sucked it in because he knew how important this was.
Though, the waiting was killing him as he thought, "Just how long was she planning to write. She planning on writing a damn book?"
As long as she doesn't ask him personal questions, it will be fine with him. She did, and he refuse to give an answer a couple of times. However, Berret was surprised she didn't try and coercing him or press the matter.
"Maybe she wasn't one of those noisy up to no good types. Jaune did tell me that she quit the big paper the Midgar Planet Star because she was sick of the same biased Shinra propaganda," The Avalanche leader pondered.
He agreed on that part. Shinra were all scum, and with the press and media backing them up, it made them just as bad, spreading their lies to the people, blinding them from the truth, and so much more. As far as Berret was concerned, the only ones that are worth trusting are the ones that have earned it. That's how it should be.
Still, he wasn't going to ignore that she's attractive. Okay maybe a little too attractive. He was a man, and like any other man, he wouldn't cast aside his instincts to admit that he thought so. Even if she used to be with the press that are on Shinra's leash.
The Avalanche leader gazed at the curse jar next to him. He brought it up before the start of the interview. Ruby isn't here, but he kinda promised the silver-eyed girl that he'd put one Gil for every bad word he says, and Berret always keeps his word.
"Huh? Guess the Arc and I have that in common," Berret thought to himself.
Emma spotted the jar and smiled as she thought, "At least he's trying to set a positive example of what to say and what not to say. So he wasn't just a foul-mouthed arrogant man with a superiority complex. There was more to him than I thought."
"Do you believe in Avalanche's vision?" Emma asked.
"Of course, I do. What kind of stupid question is that?" Berret crossed his arms.
"And what would that be?" Emma lifted a brow.
"To save the planet! We vowed to save it from Shinra and anyone that threatens it."
"And destroying mako reactors is the way to save it?"
"I'm not expecting you to understand lady. Mako is the source of life, it's the blood of this planet and without it, it will die, heck we all die!" Barret answered with a frustrated expression on his face.
"Does that justify your actions?" Emma lifted a brow.
"Hell yeah, it does!"
"Do you support other acts of terrorism?" Emma followed up.
"I don't. Hate terrorist to be honest,"
Emma paused on her writing gazing at the dark-skinned man with a raised eyebrow.
"What?" Berret lifted a brow.
"You justified any act committed by your group, and yet, you say against terrorism? Can you explain to me the difference?"
"I know our actions seem like it can be considered an act of terrorism, I won't deny it. But our reasons are just. I wasn't happy finding out Shinra was destroying their reactors to use us for tools for war, and I'm not happy with part of Sector 8 getting caught in the explosion. One of my companions blamed herself for thinking it was her doing. We don't want to destroy cities, only the Mako reactors that are been used to suck the planet dry."
The woman gave a nod writing on her notepad, "Tell me more about Mako. Do you truly believe the planet will die if Shinra resume their actions of how you put it…sucking the planet dry?"
"That's another stupid question. You've got daddy Shinra admitting to it on camera."
"I understand that, but I need to hear it in your words. Where did you come across the information pertaining to Mako that would lead you to a conclusion?"
"For starters, Cosmo Canyon is pretty knowledgeable on the subject. However, there's more to it than that. It's called the LIFE Stream, life, our lives. Do think there is such a thing as a well of water that will last forever?"
"I…" Emma couldn't refute his words.
"Yeah…it's what I thought. It's why Shinra himself said it without a lick of fear, everybody knows…they just don't believe it. We'll we do, and we've seen what it's doing to the planet." Berret shook his head before continuing, "Shinra's using the reactors to suck the Mako from the planet. It will eventually run dry, no such thing as infinite energy, everything comes with a cost. They're not going to stop so we have no choice but to do things by force. If you want to blame someone, take it up on them, not us."
"Do you have factual evidence besides a confession to prove your statements?"
Barret was starting to get annoyed.
"You said that Mako won't last forever, and that it is not an infinite source as Shinra claimed. Do you have any proof to back up your claims?" Emma questioned.
"You're starting to get on my nerves lady. I don't like where this is going. Or maybe, I just don't like you."
"Because I'm a journalist?" Emma lifted a brow.
"That, and because you're asking too many questions," Berret shook his head.
"This is an interview. I'm supposed to be asking you questions. I don't have to remind you that you agreed to do this as part of the trade I made with one of your members. I showed the surveillance footage of Reactor 1 in exchange for an interview with you. Are you going to break your word?"
The man only mumbled something about freaking Jaune before going quiet.
"I will repeat my previous question. Do you have proof that Mako isn't an infinite source?"
The one-armed man finally snapped, getting up from his seat and hitting the table hard enough to make it sound like it was about to break. Yet, Emma wasn't fazed in the least by his actions.
"You want proof!? Missy... have you seen the state of nature surrounding Mako Reactors? Any basic test can tell you what soil is like without Mako. Hell, just go outside! Do you see any plants, flowers, trees, water, and I'm talking real pure water, not something that comes from a shitty filter? You don't see any of those because the Mako is being taken by force. Nature is the gift of the planet, and we're acting like ungrateful parasites when we don't even have to be. Nature provides us with everything we need to live, yet how do we repay it? By sucking the Mako from Gaia to make electrical power? We can live without it if we put our minds to it. All we need is food, water, a roof under our heads, and that's all."
"But you use Mako, is your bar not powered by the very same energy?"
"As a matter of fact, it ain't," Berret crossed his arms with a smug look on his face.
"Could you please elaborate on that?"
"Our common friend and his girlfriend made a Reactor that uses Water, Materia, and Metal machines to create an electrical current that's powering everything for a few hundred blocks. I don't understand the whole mumbo-jumbo part of it, something about steam and kinetic energy being generated with the rotation of some turbines, but I can tell you it works, and no Mako is needed."
"Are you serious?" Emma nearly dropped her pen. She thought it was just all a rumor. Another source of electricity that can compete with Shinra was almost too good to be true.
"Kid said he built with the help of some smart people. The reactor might not be as powerful as a Mako Reactor, but it's still more than enough to provide for the whole damn planet. All you need is a good water source, or heck, you can use a bunch of people casting water to fill it up!"
"Can...can I see it? The rector?" Emma asked with a curious and fascinated expression.
"I'm sure Jaune will give you a tour when he returns." Berret got seated while the journalist kept staring at him with an intense expression. Many thoughts race through her head as she went back to writing in her pad.
"So, to answer your damn question. I'm not carrying the proof around with me. But it's out there, if you want the proof so damn bad, hire some god damn scientist and have them run the tests on the soil outside Midgar's Mako Drain Radius. But know this, if we don't do something now, Shinra will take all the Mako and burn it up in a reactor, sending the planet and us to our dooms. It doesn't take a genius to understand that if the planet dies...We die with it."
"Is that you're only goal? Helping the planet? What will you do if you managed to topple Shinra? A force that can go up against Shinra isn't some small thing. They're the biggest Militant force on the planet," Emma continued her line of questions.
"I didn't help form Avalanche to take the lives of people or scheme for power. We just want to keep the planet safe. But as long as those goddamn reactors are still active, and Shinra's still kicking, the planet will be in danger. Shinra is our enemy. Not Midgar, not the city, not the Sectors or the slums, just the company itself. Not the employees but the head of the snake that is running the show. Only, President Shinra. I've never forced a single person to join this group and my cause, because my cause, is OUR cause! They chose this of own free will, but not to work for me, or the people for that matter, but for the planet itself. As for afterward, once the plane is safe, and Shinra is no more, Avalanche will disband,"
She nodded resuming writing before asking, "What are your comments on the war? Does Avalanche work for Wutai as the President claimed?"
Berret gave Emma a funny look before asking, "Are you serious?"
She shook her head and held out her hand, "What I know to be true doesn't matter right not. I need to hear it from you, Berret. I need to hear it so everyone else can too."
"No, never have we ever worked for Wutai. We have cooperated with them before, but the only ones in charge of this ragtag group ourselves. Do you know the reason we went to war with them in the first place?"
"Wasn't it because of the Wutai Massacre? 105 Midgardian lives were lost that day Shinra went to negotiate building a Mako Reactor. They attacked by Wutain leaders," Emma informed.
"Oh yeah, I forgot that's what they're telling everybody. Well, hate to burst your bubble, but fuck no, that ain't the truth," Berret counted on his hand and counted a bit before sighing and throwing in a hundred Gil to the swear jar.
Berret then looked Emma dead in the eye and said, "The word inside Shinra, is that a couple of Shinra Machines went haywire and killed a square filled with both Wutains and Midgardians. It wasn't an attack, it was a slaughter, and I'm guessing after watching the footage you showed, it wasn't no accident. Of course, it's all top-secret, only a couple of people in Shinra have the clearance to know what really happened that day, and it took the lives of good men to get that information, good men from my organization."
Emma stewed in that one for a while. She had to agree with Berret speculations, "Are you saying, Shinra started a war just because another country told them no to building a reactor?"
"That's exactly what I'm saying," Berret nodded his head.
Emma took a deep breath before continuing her interview, "Say that you succeed in your mission. Will you take responsibility for the high amount of collateral damage your group will cause?"
"Collateral Damage? What the hell are you talking about?"
"If you manage to destroy all the Mako reactors then the entire city will shut down. All of Midgar will be defenseless. Homes won't be just left without any power, but transportation and machinery will stop working too. There will be no security and we will be leaving ourselves wide open for an enemy attack. Wutai might make the first move to invade rather than Shinra. Like it or not Mr. Wallace you will be helping them in their goals, not yours."
"Did you not just listen to a word I said? As long as we leave Wutai the fuck alone, they won't bother us. As for the electrical issue, we already have a solution. We can build new, better reactors. Heck, we can even retrofit their Mako sucking monstrosities into Jaune's Arc Reactors."
"Mr. Wallace, please know, that these questions aren't for me, but the people who don't know the truth. I have to ask the question. Now, please answer, what is your plan to help the people exactly? How long would we need to sit in the dark?"
Barret was glaring at her through his shades. He didn't know the answer to that one, she was right about how defenseless they would be to hostile nations, and he hated that even more.
"If all the Mako reactors are gone, collateral damage is inevitable. Not just from an outside attack but from the inside. Well not really an attack, but rather an incident, because if you do destroy them, all of Midgar, slums and upper plates alike will be destroyed," Emma followed up.
"What are you talking about!? The slums will be fine! We'll make sure nothing happens to them!"
"The plates will fall on them," Emma said with a serious expression.
"That's where you're wrong. I have it on good authority that was a Shinra propagandist who published that lie in order to protect their precious reactors. However, in reality, the only thing holding that place up is the support pillars. That's all physics. Mako's got nothing to do with it."
Emma lifted a brow, "You got proof for that?"
"I do in fact," Berret got up and walked up stairs. After a few minutes, he came back down with blueprints to Midgar's cities.
Emma looked over the content but there was a lot to go through. So, Berret helped her out and pointed out the same thing his fellow leader Fuhito once showed him. He wouldn't have started this thing without knowing the facts first.
"I see…may I take some pictures?" Emma asked
"Feel free," Barret sat back down.
After she pulled out her PTS and made herself a digital copy, she turned back to Berret and asked, "Can assure us that this new electrical source can completely replace Shinra Tech? "
"…...…...…... I can't answer that one, but the kid seems to think it'll work,"
Emma thought long and hard before turning off her tape recorder, "That will be enough for today. Thank you for your time, Mr. Berret"
Emma stood up from her seat and started packing her stuff up as she said, "I appreciate you took your time to do this interview and answering my questions Mr. Wallace. You have no idea how much you have helped me. This is indeed a good start. Grassroots got nothing on this one,"
"…Okay…" Berret breathed a sigh of relief. He was happy that it was over.
"Would you like to know my personal opinion?"
He didn't reply but gave a slow nod.
"I believe you, and I want to believe in Avalanche. Your cause sounds just. Though I haven't the faintest clue on how you'll be able to pull it off. You sound more honest than anyone I've met. I've interviewed far worse than you, mainly workers from Shinra, and I was able to tell all the lies that spewed from their trash heaps they call mouths. That was the reason why I quit the Midgar Planet Star. It's why I want you to succeed. Taking your side feels refreshing."
"Why are taking my side anyway?" he finally spoke.
A chuckle escaped her lips as she adjusted her glasses.
"I hate Shinra too. Besides…you're kind of my type," Emma said, making the Avalanche leader stunned and speechless.
"…/…" He was not blushing. Well…he'll never admit to it anyways.
"Barret!"
The man snapped from whatever daydream he was in from staring at Emma. Turning, the Avalanche saw Jessie rushing over, looking very frantic.
"What is it?"
"It's Shinra! HQ scouts spotted dozens of choppers and it looks like they're heading here!"
"Shit! Tell everyone to be on high alert. Keep your eyes open for anything those bastards might be up to! Just to be safe, gather groups to start evacuating civilians!"
"Right!" the brunette left in a hurry.
"What is going on? Is Shinra planning to attack the slums? Have they lost their mind? Don't they have any idea how many people will die if this place turns into a battlefield?" Emma thought before she recalled Berret's mentioning of how the Wutai war was really started.
"Stop asking too many questions lady. Get the hell out of here and meet up with the people so you can get to safety."
"I refuse!" Emma shouted. Berret showed a bit of surprised expression before she said, "There must be something I can do."
"This isn't gathering info or interviewing someone. If you have zero fighting experience, then you would only be getting in the way." Berret grinned a bit as he thought, "Woman got some guts!"
"Maybe I can help in some other way. Please, let me do this. I hate standing around and not do a single thing!"
"Fine, but don't say I didn't warn you. Go after Jessie and help her gather civilians out of here," Berret said as he pointed to the door and mecha shifted his hind into the Gatling Gun mode.
"Thank you, if we make it through this, you should ask me out some time…now then, if you'll excuse me… FUCK SHINRA!" the report shouted with a smile on her face as he she left the building.
Berret's mouth hung open before thinking, "DAMN! What a Woman!"
The Avalanche leader then shook his head before saying, "No time for that…I better contact HQ and call for reinforcements just in case. I have a bad feeling about this."
The party was celebrating their victory over the Corneo Cup. It turned out to be a walk in the park for the group. Seriously they've faced worse in scrap piles. They stood in one of the rooms in the back waiting for Madame M to await confirmation. They should get more than enough money from the prize, not to mention their bets.
Jaune was sure pretty sure Madam M bet on them as well and should have more than enough to make Aerith's dress by now.
With Madam's approval, a good dress, and some make up, the florist would be ready to participate in the Don's audition. The rest should be easy once Aerith makes her way in. All that matters is securing Tifa, getting information, and returning to Sector 7.
Ruby and Jaune also thought about taking the Aerith with them, especially now that Shinra was after her.
"Maybe it would be okay to share that Aerith's an ancient…" Ruby pondered.
"Now that that's over, we can go save Tifa!" said the florist with an excited expression.
"So, we'll head back to Madame M's, get you changed, and then it's off to Corneo's," said Cloud.
"Right! Aerith nodded her head.
"Sounds easy enough, but when has anything every been easy for us?" Jaune replied while letting out a sigh.
"Hold on Tifa. Just wait a little longer,"Ruby thought as she smiled.
Of course, the Huntress hasn't forgotten the brawler lying to her. She'd be lying herself if she said Tifa's reckless behavior didn't bother her.
"We'll see what she has to say when we met up," The petite's cheeks puffed a bit and crossed her arms.
"Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. But...You still have one fight left," Madame M arrived using her fan to hide a bit of her face.
"What do you mean?" Cloud lifted a brow.
The Arc and the reaper didn't know what was going on. They were sure the won and done with the matches. It was the same thing with the merc.
"The crowd loved your show a little too much. People were placing hefty bets, much heftier than you can possibly imagine. Corneo's going to milk this for as much as he can."
"Meaning what?" asked the Ex-SOLDIER.
"More bets placed, more Gil on his pockets. We're not out of this one until we fight in the next match" the Arc answered.
"Pretty much. You face and defeat Corneo's fighter of choice, and only then will you be declared winners of the tournament. If it makes you feel better, the odds are 10 to 1."
Ruby sighed in annoyance before she said, "Does it always have to be this complicated?"
"Hey! That wasn't the deal!" argued Aerith.
"Don't you think I know that?" Madam M shouted with sudden flare of anger before going into a full-on tirade, "You greedy, beedy-eyed little bastard! Scum-sucking piece of shit, festering asshole licking, tub of garbage!"
Jaune and Ruby stood wide eyed at her outburst. The silver eyed girl thought Barret had a potty mouth on him, and that she'd probably never meet someone who curses as much, but oh boy, she was so wrong.
"Maybe I should gift Madame M her own curse jar," Ruby still couldn't believe she was still going.
"SHIT! Pant…pant…pant…sigh…But that's the way it is…" Madam M said in a calmer tone, "Corneo's the one who makes the rules around here. But if you win this match, Corneo will have to accept your victory. And the crowd will make sure he does."
"So, this is the last one?" Cloud wasn't happy, but he wanted to make sure there aren't any strings attached.
"I sure hope so," Aerith commented.
"Not like we have a choice. We won't be getting our money or your dress if we don't win the tournament, but most important…" the Arc informed.
"We won't be able to save Tifa," followed the petite.
"Tonight's Corneo Cup has been a spectacle like no other, and we share your disappointment, ladies and gentlemen. When we told you it was coming to an end, I almost cried," said Scotch.
"But nobody felt it more keenly than one Don Corneo...Who has decided that a bonus match is in order!"
The crowd was cheering so loud, many were holding their newly betting tickets. They were dying to get their hands on lots of money.
"Participating in this match will be this evening's leading lights-the dynamic group that has crushed all competition thus far! Cloud, Aerith, Jaune, and Ruby! Give it up for team Jerrico!"
The four members emerged after the double gates opened. The crowd exploded when they walked through the threshold into the room.
Instead of jeers, they were met with roaring loud cheers. The people in the spectator seats were chanting their names in succession.
They could hear chanting Cloud's name while calling him badass.
Others were telling Aerith to marry them.
Jaune blushed hearing a lot of girls shouting at him to be their boyfriend. A while back, this would have filled him with pride and joy, but after experiencing everything he went through, he couldn't help but feel a little sad that a certain someone wasn't there to see it with him. However, Jaune smiled and waved back while saying, "Who am I kidding? I live for my dreams. THANK YOU!"
Cloud frowned as he heard those words come out of Jaune's mouth. The spikey-haired merc then shook his head and smiled.
It was the same with Ruby. She grinned, soaking in all the adrenalin and excitement. She couldn't deny that she enjoyed being called things like the Crimson Reaper or Deadly Red Riding Hood. They were names that made her smile as she thought, "I could get used to this being popular thing."
"Their opponent! Buried in the bowels of the colosseum...An unspeakable horror, long imprisoned, set free tonight for your entertainment! The secret star of Don Corneo's stellar stable!"
"Enter: The Hell House!"
"The what-?" Jaune started.
The octagon in the middle started opening revealing that it was actually a large elevator hatch that goes ever further below the depths of the underground colosseum.
As the gate opened, a lot of smoke came rising up from below. The party had to cover their eyes and nose because of how dirty it was down there. With the smoke still rising, their vision was blocked as the hatch closed. Whatever it was, it was now standing in the middle of the arena.
When the smoke finally cleared, they stood with a perplexed expression on their faces.
"It's just...A house..." said the florist.
The small house started moving, shocking the group.
"That's no ordinary house!" the Ex-SOLDIER informed as he drew his sword.
"It's alive!" gasped Ruby as she looked at the partially mechanical monster.
"Oh, god…it's my childhood nightmare all over again," Jaune followed up with a shiver while remembering the time his sisters teased him by making him think that an old and abandoned house was haunted.
"The manifestation of pure evil versus the most badass couples this side of Midgar have ever seen. This will be a fight more incredible, more epic, and more bloody than anything you've ever seen folks!" said Kotch.
"They'll be singing songs about tonight for generations to come!"
"Keep your eyes glued to the action, ladies and gentlemen!"
"The Cups' final, final battle...Begins...Now!"
The living house made the first move releasing objects that came from the windows. They thought they were missiles, and dodged them only to see they were chairs. Freaking chairs from a kitchen table.
However, it was no joke, some of them exploded as if they were bombs loaded with Firaga Spells. Needless to say, the party was shocked at this.
Before they knew it, the monster was charging at them, attempting to tackle the group while they were bunched together.
"Seriously?! What moron managed to build a living house," Jaune complained as he dodged out of the way.
"It has to be a robot…ghost…mecha thing?" Ruby followed up before they took a couple shots at it. However, the bullets didn't seem to do much.
"It's got a hard-light generator!" Ruby informed before she flew above and hit it with around a dozen electrical enhanced bullets.
Jaune rushed forward while coating his sword in Aura. He formed a microscopic edge around Crocea Mors and jumped cut down on the Hell-House only for his weapon to bounce of the shield.
It tried to spin at the air born Jaune before he kicked himself off the monstrous mecha's barrier with his feet and jumped back.
"Careful, it's using Wall Magic on top of the Hard-Light Magic," Jaune informed before Cloud spun in and cut low. However, his blade skirted off of the monster's barrier just like Jaune's attack.
"I got it! Dispel!" Aerith called out as the shield shattered and the group went in with some strong attacks.
Jaune and Cloud performed an X-strike, cutting in diagonal strokes within seconds of each other while each of them released beams made Aura and the other Magic.
Ruby jumped on top of the barrier and cast Thundaga alongside a magically enhanced scythe.
Aerith created a sigil on the ground while hitting the Hell House with a duplicated Thundaga and Blizzaga.
At the same time that it released another Chair Missile Salvo, the group was stunned by the sheer number of them coming their way.
The monster then cast Wall on itself again and charged towards Jaune.
Jaune dodged rolled out of the way just in time to avoid the attack. He then held his hand out and cast Photon Shell, Barrier, and M-Barrier on the party before shouting, "Ruby! Party regroup next to Aerith!"
Ruby nodded her head as she turned into a puff of roses, dodged the chair missiles, went around and picked up Jaune and Ruby before landing within the Ancient's Arcane Ward. The group reformed before they all cast Firaga at the same time while Aerith started it all with a Dispel.
Its shields shattered as 8 giant fireballs slammed into the monster and hit the house before exploding.
It was clear to see that the hit was effective as the monster wriggled in what they perceived to be pain. The three melee specialist then rushed back in and kept on attacking it with a series of combos while Aerith continued to cast duplicating Firaga spells.
It seemed like they were slowly chipping away at the house's exterior when they suddenly felt themselves being pushed back.
A shockwave was released from the house as its shields came back on and seemed even stronger before. The light blue color of the honeycombed-shaped hard-light bubble barrier shifted to a soft yellow before it started shaking.
"Ladies and gentlemen!" started Scotch.
"What is happening!?" followed Kotch.
The party gasped as the Hell House released four long mechanical arms, two came from the roof and two popped out of the sides. Next, four short mechanical legs sprouted from underneath it, giving it a total of eight limbs. Lastly, a big round head egg-shaped bird-beak looking head with an elongated neck sprang forth just above the doorway.
The new transformed house charged at them. Rocket boosters appeared on the back of the house before they ignited with a loud roar, pushing the large construct, and allowing it to move at an impressive speed that it wouldn't normally be possible for an object of this size.
Jaune and the rest were impressed, but they we're ready. However, when it used its long arms to push against the ground to help move itself even faster, they were caught off guard.
"MOVE OUT OF THE WAY!" shouted the Arc.
The four members went their separating evading the mighty charge of the creatures. Ruby used her semblance to get Aerith to safety while Jaune and Cloud didn't manage to move quickly enough. Moments before the Hell House rammed into to them, both blonds blocked with sword and shield, using their Auras for additional support.
Though it was blocked due to the combination of Aura, Photon Shell, Barrier, and M-Barrier, it still hurt like hell as the ram knocked them both away a good ten feet or so. It felt like someone dropped a house on them...strangely enough, that's exactly what it was.
If they weren't careful with this one, they could be in serious trouble.
Cloud and Jaune recovered quickly and began dodging the swinging grappler arms while cutting at anything that within the reach of their swords.
The living house continued to use its arms to strike at the front guard while Aerith pelted it with Blizzaga and Firaga magic and Ruby's elementally charged bullets. Since it was dangerous, Ruby stayed near Aerith, shooting down any of the chair missiles that came their way.
The crowd was cheering loudly. They were still supporting the party expecting them to win and earn them the biggest payout of their lives.
Just when they noticed a crack in the Hard-Light barrier, Aerith cast Dispel and shattered the Wall magic before Jaune and Cloud shattered the Hard-Light barrier, and then ran down the side of the monster with their blades tearing through its exterior.
The House did something unexpected, it jumped high into the air, high enough to surprise them anyways before it landed in the second row, making the people panic. As they began running for their lives, the mechanical creature fired an explosive chair salvo from its position.
Ruby used her semblance to get close up, carrying Jaune with her as they reappeared from the rose petals and performed a combo of scythe and sword. After slashing it few times in mid-air, the Hunters followed it up with a Firaga and Aeroga spell.
While the massive explosion landed on the top of the house, Aerith and Cloud mixed in a Blizzaga and Thundaga spell that was duplicated in her Arcane Ward.
Ruby backed off to shoot down the flaming chairs while Jaune charged up the energy in his sword slashed at the monster, releasing a ten foot crescent blade beam that cut through a large section of the house. However, it cost him because the Hell House was close enough to slap him away with its robotic hands.
As he was flung through the air, the blond knight back flipped and landed next to Cloud while his multi-layered Barriers fluctuated.
The two blonds then looked at each other and raised their hands, "Thundaga!"
A massive bolt of lightning duplicated itself and merged into one big beam that struck down on the Hell House, forcing it back to the ground floor.
At the moment it landed, Cloud, Ruby, and Jaune rushed forward while Aerith cast Aeroga and Firaga in succession, making a massive explosion that shook the room. The Hunters and Ex-SOLDIER dashed out from the smoke and hit it with some of their strongest attacks.
Cloud went with a triple front flip slash, Jaune used six Blade Beams that formed into a half moon, and Ruby hit it with a Charge Shot that made her spin like a saw that tore through the Hell House's exterior.
The mechanical monster roared as it glowed with Mako and suddenly recreated the Hard-Light barrier with Wall Magic, only this time, the color of the shield was red.
It then spun in place and circled the room, forcing the frontline attackers back, even getting hit and hurt enough for Jaune to cast Cura and make him recast their Barrier, M-Barrier, and Photon Shell spells.
He was running low on Mana, so Jaune ended up drinking a few Ethers to replenish his pool while Ruby covered him with powerful charged shots.
Cloud rushed to Aerith's side in time to block an exploding chair while the pink-themed florist went for her Summon Materia.
Using her new Semblance she whispered, "Please, help us."
The Materia on her rod suddenly glowed violently as the florist called out the ice goddess Shiva. The beautiful frost covered maiden emerged from the Materia casting several dozen Blizzaga spells on top of the Hell House while Aerith used another Dispel and spammed Thundaga spells.
Jaune went with changing Crocea Mors to great sword for heavy damage and surrounded in a solid layer if Aura. He lept forward and started laying into the vibrant red barrier, attacking it with a powerful 10-hit combo that ended with a front flip slash.
Ruby inserted her special ammo for her new Reaper Shot and jumped into the air before firing. A bright electrical charge focused on the tip of her barrel before a blue three foot spherical bullet shot out towards the target.
The bullet hit right on target the same moment Arc used a thrust that created a large spear head at the end of his weapon.
Aerith went with another duplicated Thundaga and Blizzaga while Cloud jumped in and used Cross Slash to add to the damage.
With a loud cracking noise, the shield shattered again, giving the party more time to attack.
Shiva kept on casting ice magic while the Hell House used its charge towards Jaune. The blond knight rolled out of the way in time before the house suddenly jumped into the air attack with a barrage of chair missiles while trying to land on top of Cloud.
Luckily, they managed to get out of the way in time, and with Ruby shooting down all the targets, it rendered its missiles mute.
This thing was really showing to be stronger than it looks. It cast the Wall Magic again before reactivating its Hard-Light tech.
If it was going to keep using that shield, it was going to be hard to beat it. It went with chair salvo followed by another charge. The group took cover while the ice summon's time was almost up.
Thankfully, Shiva unleashed her overdrive, Diamond Dust. She blew the mist from the palm of her hand, surrounding the Hell House in a spire of frozen land and encasing it inside a giant icicle before she destroyed it with a kiss.
The Hell House took a lot of damage, it was covered in frost, scorch marks, broken tech, and had several sections of it gouged out from blade attacks.
However, it was still going strong. The Hell House roared before bringing back up its Hard-Light Shield in an instant and it once again cast Wall on itself.
Jaune cast Dispel this time while Ruby and Cloud dashed back and forth, hitting the bubble-like barrier several times. Once they shattered it again, it spun around while spewing flames from the rocket thruster, making a miniature flame tornado.
After dodging the attack and using Jaune's Scutum and Cloud's flat end to keep the thing from sucking them into to the vortex of flames.
However, things took a turn for the worse when the mechanical monstrosity rushed toward them and suddenly opened its door in front of them.
Out of nowhere, the monster released a strong inward current that acted like a vacuum. Jaune managed to cast Aeroga around him in time to push the others away but got caught in the stream before he went flying inside.
Ruby gasped seeing how the blond got sucked in. The creature was bouncing lightly before they heard him shout, releasing a large and radiant light that poured out from the Hell House's windows and openings.
The Hell House bounced around as if it were in pain before it spit the Huntsman out, sending the blond knight tumbling across the ground before he barely managed get back to his feet.
Jaune was dizzy and wasn't feeling good. He felt like he was back during his first day at beacon and ready to upchuck his last meal.
He then shook his head before he saw Cloud jump towards him. The spikey-haired merc leapt off the ground and tackled his fellow blond out of the way. Just in time too. If he had been any later, the two would have gotten squished underneath the house's jump-flop.
"Better not to get caught in that attack," Cloud said as they both rose to their feet.
"Thanks, Cloud," Jaune said before the monster jumped back into the stands and started firing a massive chair salvo that blotted out the top of the underground arena.
"Everyone! Under me!" Jaune said as he stabbed his sword into the ground and raised his shield above his head. He then cast Photon Bubble and created a ten foot sphere that took the attacks while the rest took shelter from the onslaught.
After the missile barrage ended, the Hell house jumped from the stands landing on top of the Hard-Light Bubble.
It cracked and started to break while the group spit up and escaped before it flopped onto the groud, sending up a plum of dust while releasing lightning from its four arms.
It flung its arms around wildly, smacking into the group and sending them flying across the arena.
Aerith acted quickly as she felt her Aura protecting her and cast Cura on the party. The ex-SOLDIER stood in thought this wasn't helping. The shield kept coming back online quicker than before.
"That thing is annoying!" shouted Ruby.
"Annoying and strong. It swallowed me and then spit me out like I was a bad dish!" Jaune said as he shook.
"Doesn't look like it's slowing down," Aerith replied as she launched a set of duplicating Thundaga Spells.
"That shield makes it hard to give it a good hit. It doesn't look like it has any weaknesses to any particular element," said Cloud.
"Look out!" Jaune yelled as he put up a large wall of Hard-Light with his magic tech.
The group evaded a charge from the House mech while Jaune used his Aura Amp to increase his overall strength.
The moment he blocked the attack and started pushing the house back, the crowd went wild.
Ruby and Cloud went around to its side wile Aerith gained some distance and drank a few Ethers before starting to cast more spells.
"At least someone was enjoying the show," Jaune thought as he pushed himself to hold the monster in place.
"Hitting it harder isn't doing much," Cloud commented as he watched the shield break seconds before it came back online. It didn't even give him enough time to land a solid blow.
"Unless we hit it even harder…everybody put your hands on my shoulder," Jaune shouted.
Everyone nodded their heads before the blond knight used his semblance on the party.
"Whoohoo!" Aerith yelled as she felt stronger than ever before. Even her Semblance became more active as she ordered the Materia to cast all her offensive magic at once.
Ruby grinned as she flew around, releasing dozens of Reaper Shots that combined magic and machine to deal massive damage.
"Damn!" Cloud commented as he felt his Aura surging wildly. Then something strange happened to him. A small amount of blackish substance shot out of his pores before he felt a stinging sensation in his head. He could feel his Aura washing over his body like a tidal wave, cleaning out the impure substance within his genes.
Suddenly, his head felt clear, like a fog had been suddenly lifted from his mind. However, he had no time to celebrate or focus on the change occurring inside his body. The spikey-haired merc quickly raised his weapon in time to block an exploding chair. With a triple reenforced shield of Barrier magic, Hard Light Magic, and Aura, the explosion only made him think that it tickled a bit.
Jaune tapped his shield and said, "Need a ride!"
Cloud nodded his head before he jumped up and was sent flying by the blond knight's immense strength. As he jumped off the shield, the spikey-haired merc slashed down with a front flip.
At the same time, Ruby appeared behind the house and cut into its thruster, forcing the thing to fall back towards the ground.
Jaune jumped up while extending the Aura on his blade to roughly three feet beyond his weapon's height. As he spun, he looked like a white tornado that hacked into the underside of the monster, sending it flying back into the air for Ruby to front flip dozens of times while firing her Scytherifle to speed her up slashes even more.
Cloud joined her as he felt massive ice spires shoot beside him. Around the same time Aerith's Blizzaga spells hit the target, Cloud hit it with a Braver attack and followed up with a rising jump slash.
The monster hit the ground, but it got back up and roared as it charged towards them.
They dodged out the away again, before Ruby said, "I got a plan!'
Jaune nodded to her. The merc and the florist did the same. They had full trust in Ruby and were ready to hear what she had cooking in that head of hers.
"We need it to open the door!" Ruby said as she started cutting away.
The group followed her word and continued attacking.
The Hell House spun around with its electrically charged arms, forcing everyone back. Once it got some space, it began running towards them with reckless movements.
Jaune stopped it again with his Magi-Tech Hard-Light wall and shouted, "Cloud, nock on the door for us!"
"Got it!" Cloud said before he rushed forward with a stab and followed up with a Braver that tore through a bit of the front of the house.
At the same time, the monster opened its door and started sucking everything around them.
Ruby then opened her satchel and pulled out 3 Big Bomber Shells and armed them before throwing them inside.
The door closed before the Hell House paused and suddenly started shaking. Then a loud explosion shook the monster from the inside and caused it to blow up into tons of chucks that shot across the room. Luckily, just in time, Jaune cast Photon Bubble around the monster to protect them and to keep the mess from blowing back on them.
The inside of the Hard-Light bubble looked like a sun was being born as the flames completely ate up the monster, leaving only a pile of scrap inside when it finished.
The group was panting a bit before they looked at each other and started laughing. Their faces were covered in dirt, soot, and ash.
The audience sat in silent for a moment realizing what just happened. The Hell House was destroyed, covered in flames, hard to tell if it can ever be rebuilt. Then, they exploded in loud, room-shaking, cheer. Around the same time, the special effects team released the victory fireworks.
The four gave a high fives all around while the announcers got to work.
"And the winners-" said Kotch.
"And champions ARE, Team Jerrico! Give it up for Cloud, Aerith, Jaune, and Ruby!" Scotch yelled into the microphone.
"Good thinking, Ruby, but where those the…" started the Huntsman.
"Yep! The big bomber shells we nabbed from Reactor 5. If the shield was making it tougher from getting hit from the outside, I realized, maybe it doesn't have the same effect on the inside. So, the moment it opened its…mouth... door...ah whatever, I let those bad boys fly!"
"Wow…." said Aerith with an impressed expression.
"Clever. Well done," Cloud followed up with a compliment.
Jaune nodded at the petite's quick thinking. The then Arc smiled at the reaper as he thought, "She'll never stop impressing me. Ruby is truly unique, one in a million."
"Talk about bringing down the house, huh?" the silver eyed girl smiled before giggling.
Everyone had to roll her eyes, but even Jaune couldn't help but chuckle.
Jaune then grinned as he said, "You know what this means?"
"Oh…wow, an eleven times increase…that's 155.430 Million Gill!" Ruby's eyes sparkled.
"Let's see, that's 38,857,500 Gill for each of us," Jaune said as he quickly did the math.
"Holy cra…" Aerith paused as she saw Ruby lifting her brow, "Crud…but…um, I only put 7 thousand Gil into the pot. Shouldn't Ruby and Cloud get more?"
Ruby shook her head, "Naw, we're a team, and we're splitting the rewards down the middle."
"Sounds fair to me," Cloud followed up.
"But holy crud is right! We're rich!" Jaune laughed.
The crowd kept on cheering, especially those that made bets on them. At the VIP stand Madame M cheered as she more than won the prize money.
Chocobo Sam left and went to look up the cost of fixing up his champions. The Cutter and Sweeper models were scrapped into a ball of slagg, so he was sure that he would have to buy another one.
The Honeybee Inn workers were also cheering for the winners while the man seated on the throne-like chair stood silent. He continued looking at the part deep in thought.
"How fascinating…"
After leaving the arena the party was met with the gatekeeper telling them that Madame M would like to see them back at her parlor. He added that she was very pleased with their performance and thanked them for making him a small fortune.
The front desk handed them their winnings before they gave all ten suitcases to Ruby to store inside her item bag. They couldn't just walk around carrying that much money, but they did manage to fill up their pockets with roughly 100,000 Gil each.
While they people inside cheered happily at them, the group left the Colosseum and headed to the massage parlor.
Assuming the massage therapist collected the prize money and purchased the dress, they'd be able to get the invite for participating in Corneo's audition.
Opening the door to the place, she was waiting for them. The smile never left her features.
"You're here. Good. I have everything I need to get started. Just one thing before we do. You're the mercenaries Cloud, Ruby, and Jaune, right? I'm told you did a wonderful job helping the people of Sector 5. You have a very impressive work ethic. It's like they say, 'Good things come to those who work' and stuff. What goes around comes around, and in ways that might surprise you."
Her chuckle made them think she was indeed pleased. She sounded so difference angry persona they were used to.
"I'm gonna put Aerith in the most gorgeous dress you've ever seen. It'll be a real jaw-dropper. All right… Now that that's out of the way... Once you change, you won't be able to leave town. Are you sure you're ready?"
"I'm ready," replied the pink-themed florist while she gripped her fists and nodded her head.
"All right, then. Let's get started. Beauty takes a lot of work and preparation, far more than you'd know," Madam M replied while waving her fan in front of her face.
"We'll be waiting outside," Ruby commented.
"I'm sure there must be a few things we can do while you're busy with Aerith," Jaune followed after.
"We could take some jobs while we wait," Cloud added.
"Very well. I'm sure there are quite a lot of people here that would like to hire you all for your services. Now Aerith, come with me."
"Oh boy! I can't wait to see the dress!" Aerith cheered as she followed behind.
"The dress is part of it, sure...but we'll also need to do something about that plain-Jane makeup and hairdo. This is gonna take some work," Madam M sighed.
"Ouch!" the pink-themed florist cringed her shoulders while thinking, "So harsh!"
Insulting her attire was one thing, but her makeup and hair. Pretty sure if Elmyra were here, she would be making Madame M eat those words.
"Well, I'll see you guys later!" Aerith waved at them while sounded rather anxious.
"Peek and I'll poke out your eyes," warned the massage therapist with a frown that could scare the undead.
"No need for a threat. We'll be on our way," the Arc replied with a sweat dropping from his brow.
"Time to look around town and find any possible clients!" the hyped red-cloaked girl cheered while throwing her arms into the air.
The three walked the busy streets of Wall Market while thinking surely Cloud will be able to find some jobs, and eventually they did. Though it wasn't exactly what the spikey-haired merc was expecting.
There were only minor jobs that felt too amateurish for his taste and experience. Not a single one included fighting monsters, or anything of the sort that required his unique skill set.
It was mostly just delivering items. Not his favorite thing to do because he thought delivery man was completely below him. Still, he won't complain. They were doing this to kill time until Madame M was done with Aerith.
Cloud, Jaune, nor Ruby knew why Johnny decided to tag along. The cock-combed red head said he knew this place like the back of his hand. So he helped them finding the people that needed the items. He came through in the end.
Johnny had intentions to show the ex-SOLDIER everything there is to know of the town, but the spikey-haired merc had zero interest.
Choosing to ditch him while his was in the middle of a really long monolog, the Arc, the Strife, and the Rose walked off.
They thought it was a bit mean, but they knew this place pretty well too. Though, nighttime Wall Market is very different from the rest of the slums and wasn't to their liking in the least.
While they wondered around, Jaune managed to find a Yellow Chakra Materia near a pipe that was leaking Mako. He put it away and thought about testing it out later to see what it did. Since they were busy with a delivery, he thought now wasn't really the time to go about using Materia in the middle of the street.
The Huntsman and Huntress then saw a group doing drugs in an alleyway and sighed. They couldn't help but think would rather stay in trash can than stay here.
They could only see themselves living in Sector 7 or back at their first home in Sector 5. Just when they thought that nothing good could be found in Sector 6's Wall Market, the two teens gazed at the place they haven't visited in a while.
It's been months back when they were still living at Sector 5, so it wasn't surprising that the two looked fondly at the sign lit up over Jules gym.
The place hasn't changed in the slightest since the last time they were here. They saw Ronnie and Jay lifting some weights and as usual, Jules was present for support. He was cheering on both men to give it their best.
"Wanna work out?" Jaune asked with a smile on his face.
"Sounds alright. Not like we have anything else to do," Cloud shrugged his shoulders.
"Jules!" the silver-eyed petite yelled out as she rushed over and gave a hug.
The three turned to see familiar faces they haven't seen for a long time. Jules smiled at the two teenagers because he saw they were keeping up with their training.
"Ruby! Jaune! Aren't you guys a sight for sore eyes! I haven't seen you guys in months!" Jules laughed happily as Ruby separated from the hug.
"It sure has. A lot has happened between then and now," the Arc said as he shook their hands.
"We've been, very busy," added the red-cloaked reaper.
"This is perfect! Now that you guys are finally here, I can test the results of my workout," said an eager Ronnie.
"Yep. Ronnie has been working hard for the last couple of months. Ever since you guys stopped coming. Why not challenge him now that you're here?"
"Yeah, I'll take on both of you at the same time!"
The Hunters looked at each other and grinned.
"You're on!" Jaune said as he moved over to the seat and removed his trench coat and dropped his armor onto the ground.
"Don't cry later. We've not only been keeping up our training, but we've been slowly increasing the pace over time," Ruby grinned as she put Crescent Rose and her item bag near Jaune's equipment.
Ronnie grinned. They might be kids, but he learned his lesson the last time. Cloud kept silent while watching. He didn't mind sticking around while waiting for Aerith to finish changing.
Jaune was as both men started with squats. The Arc was impressed with how many Ronnie was able to pull.
"Guess he has improved from the last time we were here," Jaune thought as he continued to put out squat after squat.
As much as Ronnie improved, the Huntsman proved that he still had the advantage. After 130 squats, Ronnie finally tapped out.
Next, they did pushups and burpees, losing both rounds to the blond teenager. Jaune was shocked Ronnie lasted for 180 of them, but Jaune was only warming up.
Following it up with pull ups, it was a fierce competition that lasted for 200, but the Arc still won by doing one additional pull up after the dark-skinned man fell on the ground.
After the match, both men shared a handshake.
"Damn Jaune, you don't even look tired!" Ronnie stated with a smile. He wasn't upset, knowing he did his best, he was glad that chasing after Jaune allowed him to improve this much. However, he wasn't giving up. He went to the corner and had a guy cast Regen on him. Ronnie planning to resume training once his stamina returned.
Jay was next as both were fast and impressive, but Jaune was able to win by a landslide.
Ruby was next as she was able to beat both Ronnie and Jay without much effort. She still has the advantage due to her size and weight, not to mention all that training under Tifa had something to do with it.
Ruby did the same as Jaune, only going one over their score before calling it quits. The flex was enough to get everyone in the room excited. The training maniacs were back.
Jules couldn't take it anymore. He rushed over and chose to take them both on at the same time. Challenging the petite and blond to squats, sit ups, pushups, burpees, and pull ups, he started to have smile happily.
While the other two took a break, their trainer was having fun with the teenagers. They were shocked at how quick he could move and get it in precise timing. The other body builders in the gym realized that they still had their work cut out for them. It was clear that the head trainer was obviously better than Ronnie and Jay.
Yet somehow, they were able defeat the training with a score of 501. Both Ruby and Jaune had a nice workout while congratulating Jules on breaking his old record.
Just when they thought it was over, Cloud stepped in, and it appeared that he wanted to give it a go. The merc then announced, "I'll take on all three of them."
They body builders accepted the challenge and volunteered one by one to take him on.
Ronnie was first and he got beaten by a lot. It was the same with Jay and Jules. The Huntsman and Huntress figured it would go this way. SOLDIERs were made of different stuff.
The other matches ended the same way. It was just too easy for the spikey-haired merc as he beat them in everything by a large margin.
Then he went after the two teenagers willing to take them on at once. Without using their Aura, they continued to push themselves as far as they could go. When it got to 1,200, the Hunters collapsed in a pool of sweat.
"Guess for a SOLDIER this is nothing but a walk in the park," Ruby panted.
"Cloud, was it? You're the real deal man! Ain't no one been able to beat them for months!" the head trainer complimented with an impressed expression.
"For someone so scrawny looking… You ain't that bad" Ronnie followed up.
"It was awesome. And the fact he beat Jaune and Ruby makes it better. I might have to train harder!" said Jay.
"I will train extra harder for next time!" replied the dark-skinned muscle man.
"No surprise why he beat us," Jaune said as he caught his breath.
"Think it will make a difference if train more?" asked the red cloak petite.
"Sure do. He may have super muscles, but we're building Nora muscles…" Jaune chuckled.
"It was a good workout," said the Ex-SOLDIER as he sat beside them and took a water from the machine.
Jaune placed his hand on Cloud's and Ruby's shoulders before using his Semblance to enhance their healing factors.
They then closed their eyes to focus on absorbing the Aura flowing into their souls. After a few minutes, they were at full capacity and condition.
Ruby then sniffed herself and sighed, "I'm going to go take a shower."
"Come on Cloud, we can wash and dry our clothes in the locker room's machines."
Cloud took a whiff of his own scent and agreed.
They went into the gender specific showers and threw their clothes in the washer/dryer.
Once they got back, all the dust and dirt from the underground arena was cleaned off and their outfits were sparkly clean.
Ruby got herself a strawberry milk from the vending machine while passing a banana milk to Jaune. She then put the extra 3 Gil in and looked at the spikey-haired merc as she asked, "What kind do you want?"
"Plain…vanilla if they have it," Cloud looked away.
Ruby chuckled and said, "You're in luck," as she tossed him the milk bottle.
The three then pulled the caps off and chugged.
"Phaaw! Nothing beats cold milk after a hot bath!" Ruby licked her lips.
Jaune nodded his head, "Tell me about it."
Cloud had to agree. It was nice.
"Bro!" A voice echoed out that reminded the Hunters of the assassin Mercury.
The three turned to see Johnny running to them as he stared at the spikey-blond merc.
"I got word from Madame M. She said to wait at the bridge near Don Corneo's place."
"Sounds like she's finally done with Aerith," Ruby smiled.
"Time to go then," the Arc followed up.
"We're leaving," the Ex-SOLDIER informed the head trainer.
"No problem. You're more than welcome here. Let us know when you're ready for another workout." Jules waved goodbye.
The trio stood on the elegant wooden stone bridge near the towering mansion where Corneo resides. Nobody was here, so they figured that they'd arrived a little early. However, that wasn't the case. The loud voices of people whistling and cheering caught their attention.
Sounded like there a big commotion coming not that far. They heard Johnny who was trying to keep the people from getting closer shouting, "Get back! Hands off creep! Make way!"
Dozens of people were taking pictures while Johnny acted as that person's bodyguard. Once the crowd cleared the way, the trio of mercenaries was able to see the identity of that particular person. While their eyes widened in shock, the night sky was filled with fireworks.
It was Aerith and boy the dress really brought out the Ancient's good features. Indeed, she was wearing the dress Madame M bought with the Gil they won from the colosseum. It was a gorgeous red dress with a low cut corset. The cloth was feathered off at the top and ruffled from her knees down. Her hair was done perfectly, giving the florist lovely curls tied with red ribbons matching the color of the dress. She had on nice jewelry, a expensive looking necklace, a couple rings, and white high heels that strapped around her legs with a helix-shaped pattern.
Cloud, Ruby, and Jaune stood in awe at the how beautiful the young Ancient was. Madam M was right, she does look like a million Gil, and more.
They couldn't help but admit that the pink-themed florist was gorgeous. It was no wonder so many people were gathered around, though most of them were men.
Johnny released a red carpet so she can cross over the bridge on it. IT was a real gentlemanly gesture that the florist appreciated.
"Heya" her tone sounded timid.
"You look amazing!" the Huntress shouted as she ran over and hugged her.
"That's really…." started the merc.
"Wow…." the Arc finished.
"Yeah…." the florist took a glance at her dress" Corneo's got...Certain tastes. This dress is so gaudy and impossible to move in…."
"Considering it cost a million Gil. Maybe you should be careful, and not do anything to get it dirty," Jaune mentioned with a chuckle.
"Thanks for showing you care for my wellbeing," Aerith replied while her eyebrow twitched.
"That's not what I mean. You have to look your best if you want to get through the audition. Not like we're going to let anything happen to you," Jaune shook his hand in a defensive manner.
"Hm...What about you Cloud?" Aerith asked.
"Oh...Right," the spikey-blond merc snapped out of his trance.
"Were you listening to me?" Aerith pouted.
"Y-Yeah. I was just starting to wonder this place is more dangerous than we thought. Who knows what they'll ask you to do in this audition," Cloud said as he shook his head.
"Nothing's gonna happen to her because we'll be there to back her up," Ruby replied with her hand on Crescent Rose.
"We're not letting you go there by yourself. We'll have to try and get in without anyone noticing. Like using stealthy means to take them by surprise," the Huntsman mumbled in place while grabbing his chin.
"Like Ninjas!" the red cloak petite smiled.
"I have a better idea. Come on, you'll see," Aerith turned around.
They didn't know what she had in mind, so they decided to follow her.
It wasn't easy walking all of Wall Market with men whistling at Aerith, among some indecent comments that earned them a glare from Cloud and Jaune. Seriously couldn't they just restrain themselves and they had to punch a couple of guys.
"Guess this is the kind of place it is," Jaune thought as he knocked a pervert out cold.
However, they were all surprise when they stopped in front of the Honeybee Inn.
Ruby stomach suddenly growled. After that work out, it appeared that she'd worked up an appetite. "Sorry…I'm going to go grab something to eat. You guys want anything?"
"I could use some Choco-nuggets," Jaune requested.
"A burger would be so good right now," Aerith followed up.
"Hmm…just get me whatever you get," Cloud finished.
"Alright, I'll be back in a jiffy!" Ruby said before turning into puff of rose petals, excusing herself from the party as she ran towards the restaurants and food stands.
Jaune couldn't help but think that it was better that she wasn't coming in with them. There was no way the Arc would let her go to that inn again. However, instead of relief, he couldn't explain away this bad feeling he got in the center of his gut.
"Why are we here?" Cloud asked.
"To see the Honeybee Inn's Andrea Rhodea, and convince him to give you boys his stamp of approval."
Both stood still, not saying a word and wearing a face the expressed the sentence, "I know we must have heard wrong.:
"Heh heh...Aerith, we're guys," Jaune shook.
"I'm sure he can fix that. You two are not going to let me go alone, right? Well, with Andrea's help, you can join me."
Jaune felt the color drained from his face. He heard right, and this is why he had that bad feeling earlier. Apparently, Cloud was also uncomfortable about this. His face was pale and his eyes were screaming, "No!"
"It'll be fun! And honestly, I think you two will look pretty cute in a dress."
"Oh boy...Yeah, story of my life,"the Arc thought as he rubbed his forehead.
"What? No…" Cloud wasn't buying it.
"It's pretty rare for Andrea to take a personal interest in someone. At least, that's what Madam M said. Trust me, this is gonna work out great," Aerith clapped her hands together.
"Says the scheming girl trying to get us in drag," the Huntsman saw through her smile as he thought, "Yep, she's enjoying this."
He gave a long sigh while glancing at his fellow blond's less than pleased expression.
"What should we tell Ruby when she gets back?" Cloud's eyebrow twitched.
"The truth of course," Jaune shook his head.
"Ughh…."
"C'mon. Don't you wanna save Tifa?" the florist pressed on while grabbing his hand.
"Wait-"
"No can do, Cloud. This is our plan, and you'll learn to love it," Aerith dragged him inside.
"Let's just do what she says. We can lament later," the Arc sighed again.
"See. Jaune's on board. So! Here's what I think we should approach him. Madam M said Andrea was a man who'd give anyone a chance with him over. So, I say we march right up to him, explain the situation, and see where that gets us. Sounds good?" Aerith asked with sparkles in her eyes.
"Something tells me it's not going to be that easy," said the Ex-SOLDIER with a blanch expression.
"It usually isn't when it comes to us," followed the Huntsman as he walked forward with a depressed gesture that consisted of a low hanging head and hunched over shoulders.
The three entered the place going to the reception desk. Unlike last time, they weren't turned away. It seemed that Andrea was indeed expecting both of them just like Aerith said.
Jaune was trying to forget this whole idea and he was pretty sure Cloud was feeling the same way as he thought, "How did this rescue plan to save Tifa turned into dressing up as a woman."
Even Jaune was moaning and groaning, "It's not like I made a bet to wear a dress this time, yet I still have to. Why does this keep happening to me?!"
The receptionist told them to head to the stage and directed them to it.
While they went ahead, Aerith was taken somewhere else by one of the Honeybee boys. After entering, the blonds saw three Honeybee girls near the door the stage door who were signaling them to come over. It was a good thing Ruby wasn't here. He really didn't want to let her see him making a fool of himself.
"And here are the men of the hour!"
"Chosen by Andrea himself."
"Our honored guests!" The Honeybee girls grinned at them.
"Let's get this over with,"Jaune sighed.
Cloud nodded his head in agreement.
"We're heading to the stage."
"Wait. This is your first time, right? It's okay. Do you want to practice your dance moves, first?"
"Dance moves?"Jaune questioned. Hearing they had to dance caught the Arc by surprise. Of all the things, this was the least thing he was expecting.
"So, Cloud and I have to show Andrea a dance? Aerith did say that we had to win him over…" Jaune thought as his eyes drifted towards the spikey-haired merc, "Does he knows how to dance? Something telling me hell say something like 'SOLDIERs learn everything except dancing' hehe."
"Andrea thought it might be a good idea" spoke another Honeybee girl.
"Do you know how to dance?"
"Do I look like I can dance?" the ex-SOLDIER didn't sound happy at all.
"I was close enough. So, you've never dance before. I guess Shinra doesn't need dancers, heh heh…." Jaune teased.
Cloud frowned at him before they both sighed out of pure reluctance.
Jaune closed his eyes, standing in place as he thought about his past. He remembered what he learned from his sisters and mother. He also learned from his best friend and teammate Ren. It always surprised him to discover that the magenta eyed teammate was a passionate man when it came the art of dance. Maybe a little too passionate.
Jaune got in the right frame of mind. As the music started, he looked at his fellow blond and said, "Okay Cloud. Follow my lead."
The spikey-haired merc stood silent. Though, it came to a surprise the Arc would know how to dance. He wasn't too keen on the idea, but remembered why they were doing this, to save Tifa. So, Cloud did what Jaune told him to and watched his movements.
The blond knight smiled, glad to see that that his friend was a quick learner, and actually participating. Both were now moving their bodies, Jaune went ahead and showed off some moves while Cloud was still mimicking the Huntsman.
The three girls giggled and cheered for them.
"Wow…."
"They're amazing!"
"Yeah, that's it. Keep it up. Nothing to it"
"It feels, familiar somehow," Cloud mentioned as he kicked his foot up and put it back down in an almost mesmerizing way.
"I'm sure it does!" Jaune smiled at the Cloud before saying, "That's because dancing is basically the same as fighting."
The ex-SOLDIER turned to him, with a disbelieving look that said, "Really?"
"I'm serious, it really is similar to fighting. When you fight, you move your body to a flow of combat. Only the difference, you're using your weapon instead of grooving with your hands, feet, and hips. Every step, swing, and spell we cast; it all has a rhythm that we move to."
Both kept on dancing while Jaune almost laughed. He forgot how fun dancing was. He started with some moves that he used in Beacon before changing it up with some of the dance moves he learned from his sisters and childhood friends.
The Honey girls kept on cheering watching them go. The performance was so good, they thought Cloud lied about never dancing before. The Arc was even better since he was leading him the whole way.
"Listen to the beat of the song! Hear that tempo?"
Cloud nodded his head.
"Good, now move accordingly," Jaune said as his feet pranced around, and his body moved as if he was weightless.
"How about we step things up," Jaune grinned as he thought of how to help his friend make even quicker improvements.
The Arc unsheathed Crocea Mors and shield while Cloud nodded his head held out his buster sword. They then started moving their bodies and weapons to the music. They finished it up with a perfect synced kata.
The Huntsman looked at Cloud with impressed expression, "That worked out better than I thought. You're a quick learner."
"It's the same as fighting," Cloud shot back.
"You guys got real rhythm. Move over girls, new dancers have come to town!"
"C'mon, c'mon-the show's about to start!" The honeybee girls said as they grabbed their wrists.
Both got dragged through the door and out on to a stage where there were many seats and tables below them. It looked like a theater.
While they looked at the building's interior, the blonds spotted Aerith and Chocobo Sam.
"My, my! If isn't Cloud and Jaune?" the voice of Madam M echoed out as she climbed down a staircase, waving her fan in front of her face.
"Like you had nothing to do with this?" said the Arc.
"Darling! I had no idea. I just simply delivered the message. Andrea wanted to meet the two of you, so I told Aerith. Though, I wasn't expecting to see you this soon," Madam M gave a sly smile.
The blond mercenaries didn't get a chance to chastise as a couple ladies came by, grabbing them by the arms while dragging them to some nearby comfy seats, and before they knew it, they were surrounded by the beautiful Honeybee Girls.
"Now you just wait until Andrea takes the stage!"
"Look at his muscles!" one was touching Cloud's arms.
"This one looks pretty good too!" another one was checking out the Huntsman, running her hands on his arms and abs.
Jaune just blushed at the compliment. To think he will be this popular with women. At one time, he would been happy to be around so many beautiful females. However, ever since figuring out his feelings for Ruby, it just felt awkward.
Cloud was also embarrassed. He wasn't used of having so many women around him either.
The two calmed themselves down as they thought, "It's fine… We just needed to show Andrea our moves."
The Honey girls signaled them to be quiet when the lights went out, creating a dark environment on the stage.
(Music: "Perfect Score" from the FFVIIR original soundtrack)
Beautiful colored lights unexpectedly illuminated the surroundings. They resembled shooting stars that gave the room a mysterious glow. Suddenly, big flower stood in the middle while many of the Honeybee girls and guys surrounding it starting to move to the music.
Jaune actually liked it. It was very entertaining. Not to mention they must have practiced quite hard on rehearsing to be able to move so well. It reflected what kind of person Andrea Rhodea is, a hardworking man who apparently loves dancing with a passion.
It wasn't long before the Arc started to move his body a little as proof that he was enjoying it. Cloud on the other hand, wasn't interested or looking forward to joining in. After the brilliant performance a man emerged from the flower as the musical score began reaching the climax of a crescendo.
The man had very short dark brown hair, blue eyes, and a thin beard. His attire was different from the others working here, but it had the same honeybee inn colors. The man had a warm smile as he was staring at the two males approaching them.
"Jaune and Cloud. Welcome to the Honeybee Inn."
The man walked over getting a better look at them. Jaune felt nervous. It's like his eyes were gazing deeply into his soul, like the Andrea was trying to figure out what made the boy tick.
"You seek my approval, do you?"
"Act…"
Andrea hushed the ex-SOLDIER's lips with two fingers, while getting too close to the Arc's face. The Huntsman felt really nervous. There were all kinds of people like that in Remnant, and it never bothered him. But having a man so close to him was starting to make him feel uncomfortable.
Cloud's expression was a complete blank. All he could do was keep reminding himself why they're here.
"I understand…." Andrea smiled before walking off as he said, "But those who crave my favor must first prove that they know how to move."
The Arc turned to the Strife before they both nodded.
Andrea moved his bodies with the rest of the Honeybee boys and girls. Their synchronicity and dancing techniques were top notch.
Aerith was still seated in her place smiling and giggling in excitement. Clearly, she was enjoying every bit of it. Eventually, the honeybee girls and boys left the stage, leaving their boss alone with the two blonds.
"I guess this is the time for the dance off and hopefully we can make a good impression," Jaune thought before Andrea spoke up.
"Think you can follow my lead?"
"Just keep up with us Cloud. Remember, it's just like fighting," Jaune said as he nodded his head and stepped up.
The merc didn't say a word, remembering their short rehearsal with Jaune, he thought that it shouldn't be so hard. He's done way tougher jobs than this, so he hardly considered this to be a challenge.
Andrea moved his body in conformance with the music as Jaune and Cloud followed. All three seemed to be in perfect sync with each other as the crowd continued to cheer them on.
Aerith was so excited she was hopping in her seat.
As the music was reaching the end of the track, Andrea increased the tempo while the blond mercenaries followed his lead without missing a beat. He had a smile on his face and really showed his moves. The Arc was having fun again.
It felt like he was back in Beacon, fooling around with his friends.
Cloud never lost focus. He stayed on point since the start of the tack, both paying attention to Andrea and Jaune first, then his own body. Pretty soon he stopped paying attention to the Arc and set his sights on the member of the big Trio.
Once he got used to the movements, it became easier for the spikey-haired merc. There were no weapons like they used at practice, but the movements and flow remained the same.
It was only natural the Huntsman could keep up with Andrea. Not only that, Jaune was putting in his own personal flare into the dance. The owner of the Honeybee Inn couldn't help but think that Jaune was indeed experienced.
The finale followed with them doing poses as there were mini fireworks going off behind them. Everyone in the room was cheering loudly accompanied by loud applause.
(Music end)
"Honey...I'm in love," Andrea smiled making a heart shape with his hands.
"Um…I…we don't…" Jaune was flattered but a bit uncomfortable.
"Yeah, what he said," Cloud followed up with a similar expression.
"Yes, yes, relax. I'm not going to eat you boys up. I will transform you two into visions of beauty. Now, without further ado, let us begin!"
"Here comes the bad part." Jaune's sweat dropped from his brow.
The first thing they lost was their weapons. Crocea Mors and the Buster Sword were taken somewhere else, hopefully to a storage room.
Both the merc and Huntsman were pulled apart from each before being seated on the throne like chairs. A group of Honeybee girl hands covered them with large fans while another one brought their dresses.
The Arc gasped as his clothes were removed, and he was forcefully stripped down to his boxers. It only lasted for a short while, and already, the blonds found themselves wearing a dress.
Next their hair was being fixed while some Honeybee boys put make up on their faces. Even their nails were painted.
It only took a few minutes before both of the males had been completely transformed.
Aerith stood up, curiously watching from the edge of her seat, eagerly waiting how the blonds would look with their new makeover.
The Honey girls finally pulled back the big fans, revealing the two males in drag. The florist gasped. Examining Cloud first, she noticed the spikey-haired merc had braids with pink ribbons tying them off at the end, long black silk sleeves with a marine blue corset over a long dark blue skirt, and black closed heels.
The florist was shocked to think this was the same Ex-SOLDIER she saw going behind the fans, because he looks gorgeous. The makeup artist did a very good job bringing out some of Cloud's more feminine features.
Finally, there was Jaune. Aerith looked over and felt more in awe than ever before. To start with, since Jaune had been growing his hair for the past seven months, he didn't need a wig. Though, the Arc's hair was given a makeover as well. It was straightened shoulder length hair that shined with a lustrous sheen.
He had on long blue gloves reaching to his elbows and had a golden ring around the wrist and end of the gloves. He wore white dress with a blue corset, short sleeves that covered his biceps, and a black chocker on his neck. On his legs were stockings that matched same styled gold ringed and dark blue as the gloves, and lastly, he had on a pair of azure-green closed heels.
The makeup work was also done remarkably well, making the Huntsman appear to be a very attractive female.
One of the Honeybee boys handed the blond a mirror as he stared in shock.
"I look...Pretty…I guess…sigh…guys aren't supposed to think that… Damn it! Why is this dress so tight?" Jaune thought as he tried to move a bit.
The makeover was done and the two newly dressed men in drag stepped forwards. Andrea was pleased with his work. They were more than ready for the audition. The owner of the Honeybee Inn took the merc's hand as they started dancing.
Jaune panicked, hoping he doesn't get to dance because the dress being too tight won't let him move freely. He kept a forced smile trying to move, thinking, "Gotta keep up my image as a new candidate."
The merc was twirled into to a position where he was staring so close at the Andrea's face. The Arc was just glad he wasn't in Cloud's shoes.
"Perfection! True beauty is an expression of the heart. A thing without shame, to which the notions of gender don't apply. Don't even be afraid, my dear boys."
"My nut sack hurts. It's being squashed by this damn dress…." the Huntsman thought as cried a comically large amount of tears.
Outside the Honeybee Inn, some of the people that got to watch the show were chatting about what they saw.
"That show today blew my mind!"
"Hey, look at me! I can dance too!"
"Those fellas had some skill!"
The pink-themed florist smiled watching the people leaving building while thinking that they must have really enjoyed that show.
Aerith stood outside of the Honeybee Inn waiting for the two new 'girls' to come out. Andrea gave her his endorsement letter recommending them to Corneo's audition. It's took a while, but now they can finally go and save Tifa.
"Aerith!"
The florist turned to see Ruby running to her not looking happy.
"I can't believe you left without me! I was only gone for like...Okay, I forgot. I was hungry so I probably took my time to buy everyone's food," Ruby complained, but the petite wouldn't say that it everything she bought was an expensive dish.
"I'm sorry. I thought we wouldn't take too long guess I was wrong. But anyway, did you eat?"
"Definitely. I went to a restaurant, and man, was the food ever delicious. Then, I went to this ice cream place where they served the best double strawberry, chocolate chip banana split ever!"
"Glad to know you enjoyed yourself" she smiled.
"Uhuh...Hey, where's Cloud and Jaune? I got everyone's meal…"
"Well…." the florist rolled her eyes with a smile.
Speaking of the Ex-SOLDIER he left from the inn walking passed the people without a glance or word. He was beyond upset, annoyed, and embarrassed at what he was currently wearing. They took his weapon, gear, and Materia from, and transferred it into a room at the Don's mansion. Obviously, they won't be getting it back until the audition ends.
"So much for defending myself," Cloud mumbled as saw Aerith and Ruby. As for the girls, he wasn't about to announce himself, so he didn't bother saying anything. Seriously, this was something he never thought he would ever do. If Sephiroth were here, he would be ridiculing him to no end.
He wanted to turn away, but it was too late. The red cloak girl was already in front of him with the florist standing next to her.
"Not a word," said the elegant dressed blond man.
"Not even one?" Aerith lifted a brow.
"No!"
"But you're so pretty!" Aerith cheered.
The silver eyed Huntress stood baffled at what she was hearing. This pretty lady's voice was so familiar, but she couldn't put her finger on it right away. However, seconds later, the realization hit her.
"No way...Cloud? Is that you…?"
The cross dressing spikey-haired merc turned his back to her, refusing to reply in any manner. The petite stood in thought before she started chuckling. Then, she laughed hard.
The ex-SOLDIER wanted to crawl to a hole and die while the silver-eyed reaper laughed so much she fell on the ground, began kicking her feet into the air while pointing at him, and just let loose.
Doing her best to calm down, Ruby stood back up and wiped away the tears. However, before she could ask why he was dressed like this, come guys came up and hit on him.
"Hey doll face you-" Some random dude said.
"Back off!" Cloud snapped.
"Ah! It's a trap!" The man shouted with a pale expression.
"Welcome to Wall Market idiot!" His friend shook his head.
Cloud turned to see the man running away while his 'FRIENDS' were still laughing at him.
Jaune left the inn not looking happy. He walked trying to forget how tight this dress is. It was killing him. He should have asked Andrea for another dress that would have at least made him feel comfortable in.
But then again, he didn't want to hurt his feelings, epically after he took his time to give them the makeover and the letter of approval.
The knight's blue eyes widened as he spotted Ruby with Aerith. "Oh no, why now?"
It was too late to run away as the petite Huntress walked to him. She kept staring at him while his sweat continued to drop. The thought of telling her that he was really a woman crossed his mind. But he didn't because he refused to lie to her, even if it brought him a world of embarassment.
"Jaune…?" Ruby snorted.
"Go ahead, laugh it up. Get it out of your system."
Seeing her best and closest friend dressed like a pretty lady was too much for her. Ruby tried to hold her laughter but failed miserably. She burst out laughing so hard that she was in tears again.
It was the Pumpkin Pete rabbit hoodie mixed with the Beacon Dance incident all over again, but much worse. Her whole face turned red as she kicked her feet into the air, laughing loudly as she pointed at him.
The Arc sighed while Cloud was trying to keep his attention elsewhere. Aerith just smiled at the whole thing.
"You...Wh...Wh-Why are you guys dressed like that?" Ruby asked before she burst out into laughter again.
"They're accompanying me to Corneo's audition. They're not letting me go alone so we went to Andrea Rhodea to give them a makeover," Aerith informed.
"That…." Ruby took a few breaths and finally calmed down. Though, her face was still red, and the tears weren't stopping, she continued speaking, "That sounds dumb. We could have let you handle things while we infiltrate the place ninja style and take everyone out. From there all we need is for you go get Tifa and regroup. Lastly, we will make Corneo talk and get our questions answered."
Jaune sweat dropped feeling so stupid. The plans sound's so easy but it was good enough to work. But it also came with the risk of getting caught.
"Let's just do this already," the Arc wasn't happy this stupid dress was really killing him.
The four started walking to Corneo's residence while Ruby was holding her laughter doing a better job than earlier. The Huntsman sighed gazing at Cloud who hasn't said a word yet. He was obviously not happy with this but luckily, they won't be dressed like this for too long.
"Hey?" he caught the merc's attention.
"If it makes you feel any better. This isn't the first time I wore a dress."
"...Why?..."
"Seven Sisters, I was the runt, and I lost a bet one time and had to show up at a school dance...Look… it be over before you know it…" Jaune sighed.
Cloud felt a deep sense of pity for Jaune. He couldn't imagine the kinds of things one older sister would do to him let alone seven.
"Is that why you don't like gambling?" Cloud asked, trying to do anything to take his mind off the predicament the blonds were in.
"Partly," Jaune answered as he shook his head and saw a guy whistle at him before trying to grab his butt.
"Hey sweet thing, how about you come back to my…urg!"
Jaune knocked the guy out with one punch and sighed again.
The group finally arrived at the tower while Jaune and Cloud's mood only got worse. Asides from their current predicament, all the commotion they caused while heading here made them feel like tearing their hair out.
Whispers, comments, mostly from men were about hitting on them, giving them compliments. Some were extreme and tried to grab at them others just whistled. Even other women gave jealous comments.
Ruby decided to stay behind them, hiding behind their dresses before making her move.
Opening the double doors, they saw Leslie and his two flunkies still guarding the interior piazza. They have the letters of approval from two members of the big Trio, and they were properly dressed to be candidates. It should be enough to get them to the audition.
"No way…." the silver haired young man stood stunned at what he was seeing.
"Here you are…letters from Andrea Rhodea and Madam M. That ought to do the trick, right?" asked Aerith with a smile on her face.
"You all serious?" Leslie questioned with a shocked expression. Of course, he was able to recognize the other two so called ladies.
"Is there a problem?" Cloud asked.
"I hope you know what you're in for," Leslie shook his head.
"Oh, we'll be fine" the florist replied, ever being the optimistic.
"If you say so, come on," Leslie nodded his head as he held his hand out.
He took the letters, checked their name. The lady speaking to him is Aerith. The other two are called Cloudia and Jeane. Though the letters of approval are the real deal, though he knew those names were nothing but BS.
Of course, these two are men and they're obviously here to rescue that young woman that was recently brought here. Either way, it wasn't his business. He'd do his job as the Don's right-hand man. Without a word spoken, Leslie opened the double doors behind him.
"Finally,"Jaune thought. He was more than relieved to know they've been given permission to enter.
The three walked a short straight corridor with another set of doors awaiting them. They were opened by another lackey telling them where to go for the audition. So they went to the second floor at the end of the walkway.
They had a bad feeling, but they continued on.
They opened another pair of doors, leading to another pair of doors. Seriously this place was full of them. Eventually, they reached a room a shoddy room with a bunch of crates laying around. It certainly didn't look like a place they'd keep guest.
Suddenly, the door behind them closed before a soft hissing sound was heard. Then they noticed the scent.
"What's that weird, sweet smell?" Aerith questioned.
They looked to the source and saw pink smoke rising from various pipes near the floor. It only took a few seconds, and it was all over the place.
"Why do I feel so dizzy?" Aerith started wobbling.
"Gas!" Cloud said with widened eyes.
"Not good" Jaune glared.
The spikey-haired merc went to the door but it was locked, and he didn't have the strength to bust through it because the gas was already affecting their messing with their bodies. Aerith was the first to fall down, losing conscious. The Arc was unable to fight it anymore as he fell shortly after. The ex-SOLDIER was the last one to fall.
Before he passed out, the Huntsman saw the door opening, revealing two lackeys wearing gas masks.
"Damn, they walked right into another trap."
"Wassup? How you pretty ladies doin'? Feeling a little light-headed? Well, we can't have that. What say we escort you to the parlor, so you can make yourselves more comfortable?" Thug one said.
"Let's get this show on the road." Thug 2 followed up as he started crouching down.
"Where...Are...You...Taking us?" asked the florist.
"C'mon now. Upsy-daisy…." Thug 2 said as he picked Aerith up.
"Hey! Handle with care, asshole!" Thug 1 said before slapping his fellow co-worker on the back of the head.
"The hell!? You wanna throw down?" Thug 2 shouted.
"They're Corneo's girls...So if you leave a mark 'em, you ain't gettin' off with a warning!" Thug one yelled back.
"Yeah, I know…" Thug two grumbled.
"Managed to wrangle some real lookers this time though, know what I'm sayin'?"
Both chuckled as Jaune and Cloud finally lost conscious along with Aerith.
Ruby smirked when the others entered the mansion. Once they were in, she used her semblance to get on top of the structure. She thought it was pretty clever of her and was sure she could infiltrate it without anyone noticing.
The reaper giggled as silently as she could. She was a bit anxious to do this, thinking that she was going to be like one of those ninjas she's seen in movies back in Remnant. Ruby also thought that Blake might have been one two, seeing how she was using the same steps and movements the cat Faunus used back in Beacon.
Climbing to a window, the silver eyed girl made sure no was around before she made her move.
"Ninja Time!"
"Hey, can you hear me?" A familiar voice called out.
Cloud stirred as his eyes opened. Remembering what happened he made a sudden jerking motion, sitting up while scaring someone nearby. His eyes wondered around, and he noticed that he didn't recognize the place one bit. It wasn't the same location where they were knocked out by the gas. But then he looked back down and noticed that it was Tifa. She was the one he startled earlier.
"Tifa?" Cloud questioned, almost as if he weren't sure that he was really awake.
"Yes…?" it surprised her this woman knows who she is when she has never met her.
"You okay?" Cloud asked. He didn't even attempt to disguise his voice, though he wasn't sure why he thought he should.
"Mm...hmm…" the brawler nodded, failing to notice that it was her childhood friend under all that make up.
"Good," Cloud let out a sigh of relief.
"Wait a minute!" Tifa finally got it. The voice sounded too familiar for her not to, " Cloud?! Is that you?!"
"Oh my god, that hair, that makeup, and that dress!"
"Nailed it, I know. Thank you. Moving on," Cloud said in rapid succession. All he could think about was wanting to take off this stupid disguise.
Jaune groaned, stirring from his dream about Ruby in a honeybee outfit before finally coming to. He then saw Aerith downed as he went to help the florist. Taking a deep breath, Jaune breathed a sigh of relief before saying, "Phew! It looks like she's all right. It's nothing serious. She must still be trying to get over the effects of the gas."
Jaune shook her a little before asking, "Hey, Aerith, you okay?"
"Yeah, a little woozy but I'll be fine," Aerith responded as she came to.
"You guys good?" Jaune asked as he helped the florist up.
"We will be once we get out of here. I can't believe they will used sleeping gas on us. Bastards!" Aerith grunted as she stumbled a bit.
"What?" the brawler also recognized the voice coming from the other pretty blond lady, "Jaune, is that you?"
"Yeah, yeah it's me… and I know what you're thinking, I make this dress look good, right?"
Tifa and Aerith snorted.
Cloud lifted his brow before Jaune shook his head while looking at him and said, "Trust me, it's better to own it than be embarrassed about it."
"Hey, Tifa. How are you doing?" the florist asked as she walked over to the bartending brawler.
"Okay…." Tifa said with a bit of confusion in her voice.
"Oh right-I'm Aerith. I'm a friend of Cloud and Jaune. We were worried about your safety and thought we'd come to help you out."
"Thanks…?" Tifa tilted her head.
"Don't thank us yet. Not until we leave this place," replied the Arc as he looked around and asked, "Are…are we in a sex dungeon?"
"We're not leaving until we get the information from Corneo," Cloud turned to the brawler and continued speaking, "We know you're planning to ask him why he's interested in Avalanche."
"How did you know?" Tifa questioned with a shocked expression.
"Um...Ruby and I knew. We found out from Barret so yeah, sorry…." Jaune informed as he walked over.
"He told you and he sent you to get me?" she sighed" like I didn't see that coming."
"You thought you'd be fine being on your own in this crazy town?"
"I brought my weapons and Materia. I'll be all right."
"Really? Where are they?" Jaune lifted a brow.
"They…took my bag…" Tifa sighed before saying, "Well, they can't take my fists away. I just hope Corneo picks me from those other three candidates."
"You don't have to worry about that. Because we are the three candidates," Aerith smiled happily.
"Really?" the bartending brawler blinked.
"Yeah. Now that we're all here for here for the same thing, it doesn't matter who he picks. We're not leaving until we ask him what his interest is in seeking out Avalanche," the Huntsman followed up.
"I guess the odds have increased in my favor with you guys here. Wait, where's Ruby?" Tifa asked while looking around.
"She's around. You know her… she can't keep herself still. Ruby will show up eventually," Jaune smiled as he crossed his arms.
"So, what happens now?" asked Cloud.
"I think they'll call for us when it's our time," Tifa answered.
"Great. So we wait... and for who knows how long," the Arc sighed. He didn't like it one bit.
"This room gives me the creeps," the florist commented.
"Right?! I thought places like this only existed in Blake's books," Jaune said while looking around.
"I just hope Ruby doesn't do anything yet. Not until Corneo picks his candidate. We should have come up with a way to contact her, like a signal… well, no point in thinking about it now,"the Huntsman sighed.
Suddenly, the sound of a gong reverberated throughout the room.
*Now ladies, listen up. I'm sure you're still feeling a bit woozy, but tonight's audition is about to begin. Head out to the door to the left and up the stairs. Come on, ladies, let's hustle.* The voice came over an intercom.
Leaving the creepy room, one of the lackeys was present to guide them, just in case they get lost. Leading them to another set of double doors, they entered into a bigger room with expensive décor and beautiful art pieces everywhere.
This was more than enough proof that show how much wealth and power Corneo has at his disposal. Dozens of lackeys were present, and one of them was a familiar person that Jaune, Cloud, and Aerith recognized.
It was one of the announcers from the Colosseum, Kotch.
Jaune felt disgusted at how many men were giving them all dirty and skeevy expressions. Perverts, the whole lot of them were perverts.
Jaune guessed that the Don must pick one to be his bedmate and the rest will probably be spoils for the thugs.
"Okay, my beautiful ladies! Time to line up for the don!" said Kotch.
The four did as told while trying to avoid contact with the mohawk man. After all, they didn't want him to recognize them from the Colosseum. Sure, Cloud and Jaune's disguises are top-notch, but Leslie figured out who they were pretty quickly.
They could only hope that it doesn't happen again. However, it was no good. Kotch was staring at them right at them.
"Wait, you look kinda familiar. We haven't met before, have we?" Kotch called out before turning towards Aerith and Jaune, "You two also look familiar."
"I've never met you," the Arc decided to speak in a very womanly voice "I do like your hairstyle. It's very uh...Spiky."
"Well, the chicks dig it. Guess you do too," Kotch chuckled, thinking that he's still got it.
"Eh, anyway. You're all good to go. Let's do this thing!"
The Huntsman mentally sighed in relief while thinking, "That was really close."
He probably saved their hides acting like a complete airhead. Jaune just hoped they wouldn't tease him about it later.
Scotch then went on to do his job, "Introducing Wall Market's most eligible bachelor...The one and only Don Corneo!"
Before them, a short fat man stuck his head from the corner of the room behind the desk and greeted them with a smile.
"Ladies!"
The man was almost bald, with a small piece of blond hair at the top of his head. A tattoo of a heart with an arrow crossing it and the word 'Love' above it. He had thin twirled mustache, fuzzy beard that was only on the sides of his face, beady blue eyes, and a triple chin. He wore gold earrings, a long red coat that had leopard dots on with fur on the sleeves and neck portion. Underneath the coat, he wore a white dress shirt with an opening exposing his hairy chest, with a gold round necklace, and as for below the waist, he had on long yellow pants with brown shoes.
This was the don of Wall Market. Jaune did his best not to laugh his ass off. No wonder he's the most eligible bachelor in the whole town. He was so damn ugly, it was like someone kicked curb stomped and his face just got stuck that way. Even if he got surgery a hundred times, the Don would never improve his looks.
A grin spread across the tubby bastard's facial features as he looked the candidates up and down.
"Nice. Very nice!" The Don said with a pleased expression.
"You boys did well. Now, whichever one shall I pick?"
The Don started gazing at Aerith from her feet all the way. Disgusting this guy, was definitely a pervert scumbag like Madam M stated.
"Should I pick you?"
His eyes traveled to the person next to the florist, licked Tifa with his eyes.
"Or maybe...You?"
Then, he turned to cross dressed Ex-SOLDIER. He couldn't suppress his curiosity before touching his arms while thinking, "Well... she's quite big boned."
Then his eyes went at Jaune who he kept his composure, despite feeling nervous.
Corneo finally stopped staring, turning his back to the four and paced back and forward as if he were in deep thought.
"Oh yeah! I've got it! I've got it! Today's bride-to-be is…."
"Today's?" asked Aerith.
"And tomorrow's or the day after's… if the Don take a shine to you," explained Kotch.
"It's worse than I thought,"Jaune thought, he couldn't help but feel really disgusted with this guy.
"Pathetic," Cloud snapped.
The Arc's was shocked at the merc's comment. What the hell was he thinking, they were still undercover. Though, he didn't blame his reaction. It's a surprise that the spikey-haired merc was able to hold this long without lashing out at the guy.
"Hey, which one of you said that?" Corneo got angry at the comment, he walked over to the blond woman with braids.
"Was it you?"
"Please Don Corneo, forgive her. Cloudia can be very sensitive sometimes and she might offend people without thinking about it…" spoke the Arc.
"Hm...Is that so?" The Don lifted a brow.
"She's not very talkative, but that's because she's...shy…and she's ah…never had a boyfriend before…" Jaune said as Tifa and Aerith did everything in their power could not to bust up laughing on the spot.
"If you treat her nicely, I'm sure she'll come around…oof…" And before he could say anything else, Cloud elbowed the Arc on his side, hard. The Huntsman felt that one. The strength of a SOLDIER is nothing to joke about.
Tifa was almost snorted while Aerith's face turned red. The florist and bartender were doing their best not to burst out laughing.
Everyone else in the room was taken aback by her action even, Corneo.
"Aren't you the rough girl. You like hitting your friend?"
"….."
"Be nice Cloudia…" Jaune's eyebrow twitched as he rubbed his soar ribs.
The merc glared at him, and Jaune glared back, giving him a look that said "Behave until this was done."
The Don seemed to be pleased with this turn of events and started chuckling.
"The say blonds aren't very smart and they tend to be stupid. But I don't believe in such. So I have made up my mind! Today's bride-to-be are both of the blondies!"
The girls were shocked, but the guys dressed as girls were even more shocked.
Corneo grinned like an idiot as he took Jaune and Cloud's hand. However, he was unable to move the big boned lady. It felt like he was rooted to the ground or stuck in rock hard cement. He moved, but 'she' refused to.
The Arc gave his fellow blond another stare to let go before he obeyed.
"The leftovers are all yours."
"Hell yeah! Okay ladies, y'all coming with me!" said Kotch.
Leslie arrived at the Don's place carrying a couple of bags. He was hoping he wasn't too late. When he was told what was going on, he didn't hesitate to act.
Entering further in the building, he noticed so many of Corneo's lackey were unconscious. "Damn, looks like they have already made a move. Well then, better not keep them waiting any longer. I should head to the don's chamber before all hell breaks loose."
The last thing he wanted were those bastards that will blow the whistle on anything. One wrong move and Shinra forces could be here sweeping the place, turning it upside down or they could just blow the place up.
Once again, he found himself rather surprised by the turn of events. The main hall was the same, just all of the guards were knocked out, and he was meeting the young girl with the red cloak from earlier.
"Um…." Ruby couldn't believe she got caught as she pulled her cloak over her face and said, "I'm er...a Ninja…."
"You guys started the party a little too early," Leslie sighed.
Although that wasn't true, he was just late. Carry all that weight wasn't easy. He had to use a Gravity Materia just to lift the bag and weapons.
"What party?"
"I know why you're here. I was told to give your things before facing Corneo. Hurry up!" Leslie threw out the weapons and gear.
The petite didn't know what was going on, but seeing that he was giving them everyone's gear, she looked at him and asked, "Why are you helping? I thought you work for him."
"I am the don's right-hand man. But I owe Andrea Rhodea a favor. So, I'm here on his behalf."
"Okay. Let's go. Just don't try anything or you will face my ninja wrath, hya!" the reaper took a stance from Zangan's Martial Art.
"Whatever."
"Ayo, fellas, we've got guests! And y'all got first crack at 'entertaining' them!" said Kotch.
Aerith and Tifa entered the room, staring at the lackeys whom eyes were reflected insatiable hunger. They already knew what he meant by 'entertaining' them.
The brawler recognized the same guys that were snooping around in the Sector 7 Slums, asking about Avalanche. Of course, they were all more than happy to see her again.
Scotch the other announcer of the Colosseum was also present in this room. However, they wouldn't get the chance since they had no clue that it wasn't them locked in there with the thugs, it was that the thugs were stuck in here with them.
Though, Aerith couldn't help but felt a little sorry for Corneo. Picking two guys over them, and one of them being a SOLDIER. It wasn't going to end well for him.
"Courtesy of the ever-generous Don Corneo himself! Never forget-the don provides!" Thug 1 grinned.
"Corneo!" Thug 2 cheered.
"So, ladies. Ready...To get to it on?" said Scotch.
"Yeah...I guess I'm good to go whenever. How about you Tifa?" Aerith cracked her knuckles.
"Hm...Four guys between us...Okay. Let's not keep Cloud and Jaune waiting."
"Right," Aerith grinned.
"Wait...I know you...The Colosseum!" Scotch shouted, completely shocked by who it turned out to be.
Aerith smiled before stomping his food. Scotch didn't even get a chance to scream out before he received a kick in the jaw from the brawler. Tifa made it look like she was picking on a couple of kids while easily taking out the rest of the lackeys. However, Kotch was the only one left and tried to jump on Tifa's back. However, the florist tripped him before grabbing a metal chair.
Giving him a smile, Kotch cried a bit as Aerith hit his head, breaking the chair in the process.
The thrash was taken out in a matter of seconds.
"Good job Aerith," Tifa smiled.
"It was nothing compare to you," Aerith replied as she imitated some of bartending brawler's moves.
They gave themselves a high five before the door was suddenly destroyed and the unconscious body of the lackey was sent flying, hitting the window and flying face first into the roof.
The two ladies were shocked. For a second, they thought that Cloud and Jaune had already made their move.
"Ninja!" Ruby entered the room in her Zangan stance. However, she stopped playing and smiled upon seeing her two friends safe and sound.
"Aerith, Tifa!" the silver-eyed petite rushed over, hugging the florist first then the brawler.
"Am I glad to see you-" Ruby paused before she glared at Tifa.
The bartending brawler was caught off guard. She didn't expect that the silver-eyed reaper wouldn't be happy to see her.
"You lied to me!" Ruby huffed.
"I'm sorry, I really am. I didn't mean it. I promise I will make it up to you somehow."
"Hmm...You can start by treating me to some chocolate chip cookies. You do that, I might think about it…" Ruby's cheeks puffed up as she cocked her head to the side and pointed her nose towards the sky.
"Deal!" Tifa chuckled a little bit.
"I'll clean the mess here," Leslie arrived putting the bags on the ground.
"Right... He's here to help. You guys better change. Where's Jaune and Cloud?"
"With Corneo, he chose them both."
In returned the red-cloaked girl laughed. Boy was the Don ever going to be surprised when he learns the truth.
"You guys can handle it from here," Leslie nodded his head as he looked at all the unconscious men.
"You're not coming with us?" the Huntress gazed at the silver haired young man.
"If Corneo finds out I helped you. He'll have my head" he turned to leave.
"Well then, we better change before they get all the fun parts," smiled Aerith.
Jaune felt sick to his stomach as he looked over at Cloud and saw that he felt the same. Their faces certainly had some purple on it.
So, there they stood, in Corneo's room. It was expensive looking room with a lot of golden décor and a big comfy bed.
The Arc remembered why they were here. Now that Tifa is safe, they needed to get the information from the Don.
A sudden sound got their attention as they noticed he had a camera in his hands and apparently had taken a picture.
"This is the first time I have picked two. But you know what they say, two are better than one! Come on cuties give papa some sugar."
"Asshole," spoke the merc.
"Oh yes! The kitten has claws!" he rolled on the bed laughing.
"This guy needs help, big time"sweat dropped from the Huntsman's brow.
"So feisty I like it. I have to see this, and even capture it on camera heh heh. Cloudia I want you to hit Jeane!"
"What…?" the Arc stood shocked.
"You like hitting her, right? Then go ahead she's been a bad girl and deserves to get punished. I want to watch you as you spank her."
"Fuck…Don't kill him Jaune, just hold in your anger and try to ask him about why those boys were talking about not finding Avalanche…" Jaune clenched his fists.
Corneo was still holding the cord of the camera, waiting to capture that moment.
"Don't keep me waiting. I want to see some spanking action. Go easy on her at first and then you go rough. Let me hear her cries until she enjoys it heh heh….."
"Son of a…that's it, I'm killing him," Jaune reached for a sword that wasn't there.
The Don crawled straight to the Arc giving such a sick perverted grin, "No…First... give me a kiss, Jeane. If you do, maybe I'll ask Cloudia to spare you from receiving oh so many spankings. Maybe ten max."
The Huntsman was shocked as he was about to get kissed before a fist hit the tubby bastard's face hard. The man was sent to the other side of the bed. The Huntsman looked at the culprit's hand and realized it was his own.
"Fuck it," Jaune shook his head while Cloud smirked.
The don got up glaring at the blond.
"Hey! Who the hell gave you permission to do that!?"
"One of you get in here and teach this bitch some manners!"
"That's it! I had enough of this!" the Arc got up glaring at the man before punching him again, making Corneo slammed his back into the bed.
"Time to answer our questions," Cloud said as he approached the Don.
"What the-What happened to your voices?"
"Oh that, if you still can't see the big picture. I'm a guy! We're both guys!"
Corneo stood in thought staring at the cross dressed males, "You two are still cute so I don't mind…"
"Wait, what?" the Huntsman took a step back in disgust.
The doors opened as Tifa, Aerith and Ruby arrived right on time.
"Sorry. We had to teach your boys some manners," the bartending brawler announced.
"I took most of them out. I was swooping down from the shadows all Ninja style," The silver eyed petite smiled.
"What the-" Corneo held his bloodied nose.
"I see you guys already started," Tifa mentioned the bruise swelling on his face.
"You guys go and change. We'll handle him," said the florist while handing them Ruby's item bag with all their gear inside.
"Finally!" Jaune couldn't be any happier that he can take off this dress and put back his clothes.
The two left the Don's room to change. The three ladies then stood at the front of the bed, staring at the Don in disgust. The time has come for the reason they came here.
"What are you three up to?" Corneo asked while looking at the girls.
"We'll ask the questions," said the bartending brawler as she approached the Don.
"If it's money, you can forget it. I'm not giving you a single Gil."
"Is that what you think? We don't need money," Ruby sounded annoyed.
"Like my friend here said, we don't want or need your money. Just answer a few questions. Why did you have men in Sector 7 asking about Avalanche?" Tifa cracked her knuckles.
"Huh? Dunno what you're talking about," The Don turned his head to the side.
"Are we doing this?" asked the red-cloaked reaper, "We saw your men asking people where they can find Avalanche. You really want to pretend like you don't know?"
"Those men admitted to be working for you, and I know them, in fact, they the same guys that wanted about to have their way with us," Tifa frowned with a look she borrowed from Barret.
"As you can see, they got their butts kicked," the petite smirked as she reached for Crescent Rose.
"So you better answer us truthfully...Or I can't guarantee what might happen to you if you don't," Tifa kept her threat hanging in the air.
"Let's try again. Why did you have men in Sector 7 asking about Avalanche? Spill the beans or…." Ruby paused before immediately taking Crescent Rose out in scythe form, "I'll slice them off!"
Corneo gasped looking like he was about to crap his pants. The sight of that scythe was enough to make him change his mind.
"Alright, alright! I'll talk! I'll talk!"
Cloud and Jaune returned wearing their gear with a satisfied expression. They were just in time to see the man reveal his intentions.
"Some guy with a gun for an arm… I was paid to find him!"
"Barret…." whispered the red cloak petite with a worried expression.
"Paid by who?" the bartending brawler continued her interrogation.
"I can't tell you that! They'd hunt me down like a dog!" Corneo shivered like a scared mutt.
"Well, you better...'cause if you don't…."
"I'll cut 'em off" Cloud touched the hilt of his buster sword.
Corneo turned pale as he imagined the Buster Sword cleaving his nuts off, "It was the director of Public Security, Heidegger! It was Heidegger!"
"Heidegger…?" Jaune was confused. He had some serious doubts that stubborn man would sink to the level of hiring Corneo.
"Shinra?! And what were they planning?" Tifa was now more worried than ever.
"Some things are better off left unsaid, ya know?" Corneo chuckled.
Ruby has suddenly acted on pure instinct as she charged at the don. Her weapon's sharp blade pointed at his neck as she glared at the tubby little man and demanded answers.
"What are they planning? Tell us!"
"Ruby, calm down…." the Jaune put his hand on her shoulder.
"I…Please don't…." Corneo whimpered.
"Ruby… That's enough…" Tifa helped calm the Huntress before she glared back at the Don and said, "You better tell us everything. Or else I'll smash 'em!"
Corneo gasped. However, for some reason, it ended up with him chuckling. "Heh, alright, you got me. I could never say no to a sexy girl. Since Avalanche blew up two reactors, Shinra's decided they ought to stamp them out for good, home base and all. Oh, and what I mean 'stamp out' I mean it in the most literal sense. They're targeting the support pillar and are planning on blowing it up."
"The pillar?" Tifa gasped with the rest.
"Did I stutter? The plate will come crashing down! It'll be Sector 6 all over again. I'm sure you've been there, seen the wreckage for yourself. So you know exactly what Sector 7's gonna look like!"
"They wouldn't…." Tifa mumbled while still in shock.
"That's bull crap!" Jaune has suddenly snapped, "Shinra was the one that destroyed those reactors not Avalanche!"
"Hey, I don't care what they did. I don't consider myself a supporter of Shinra. But if you think anyone's going to believe that, then you must be more naïve than I thought. I liked you better when you were wearing a dress."
"It's not possible...Would they really destroy the slums just to get to us?" the silver-eyed reaper shook.
"Come one guys! We gotta go!" said Aerith.
"Before you do!" the Don stopped them in their tracks.
"We don't have time to waste on you anymore," said Cloud.
"Please! This won't take long! As everyone knows, villains only divulge their plans in a certain situation. But what is that situation?"
The party stood thinking, "Just what was he trying to prove. We don't have time to waste. We need to return to Sector 7."
However little pause they gave, it was enough to get the drop on the group, "Oh, I'm sorry! Time's up! The answer lies… in the sewers!"
He pulled down a golden lever near wall side of his bed. The party didn't get a chance to react before the ground below them opened, revealing a trap door.
The group fell and the trap door closed immediately after.
"Enjoy the sights and smells! AHA HAH HAHH!" the don laughed at their demise.
To be continued
OMAKE below chapter talk: Wow…the hell house was a fun fight. So, any thoughts on Aerith's Semblance? I know it isn't an all-powerful one, but it certainly isn't simple. Let's see…ooh, intergrade chapter coming up in the next one, look forward to the surprise. Tifa's Semblance will be revealed in the next one. I've given hints to Clouds, so can any of you guess what it is?
OMAKE: Impatient Cloud and Jaune.
"AGhh! Thank god, I can finally get out of this stiff dress," Jaune said as he took Ruby's item back and pulled out Cloud and his gear.
"Ditto," Cloud said as he started removing the dress.
Jaune did so as well.
By the time they stripped down to reveal their chests, they noticed the girls staring at them with a bit of drool on their lips.
"Turn around please," Jaune's eyebrow twitched.
"R…right!" Tifa and Ruby said while Aerith moaned, "Alllrriigght…"
Jaune and Cloud sped up, removing the dresses and taking off the wrappings to hide their…manly parts.
Corneo watched as the girls glared at him, "You don't know what you girls are missing."
Ruby and Tifa stuttered for him to shut up when Jaune shouted, "Someone punch that pervert!"
Aerith obliged, making the Don shout out, "Why the nose?!"
"Thank you!" Cloud and Jaune said in unison.
"You're welcome!" Aerith said as she took a peek.
"Ooh…nice," Aerith commented loud enough for the girls to hear.
"Maybe just a peek…" The two girls thought as they looked around to see that they were mostly dressed and sighed.
Aerith giggled as she saw their disappointed expressions, "Teasing them is going to be so much fun!"
