Hey, sorry for the wait. Been very busy with work, stressed and stricken with writer's block. Going to be seeing Kevin Smith for the Clerks III tour!

Jay, Silent Bob and Bess walked through the mall. Bess had her arm around Silent Bob's as she rested her head on his shoulder. It was her way of letting him know how worried she was about him. Sure, Jay said no more of those stunts, but Bess still worried. Knowing the two stoners, they were more than likely going to stick around the mall till closing. What other mischief would they get into?

Silent Bob looked at Bess who seemed totally content with him. This was more than he expected to experience with the mute girl. She seemed to tolerate Jay just fine. He knew he had to keep her around.

"You are so getting laid tonight", Jay nudged Silent Bob.

The two mutes frowned at their stoner friend before Bess lowered her gaze. Her face turned red at the thought of her and Silent Bob. She had never done such a thing. Would he even want to? Especially with all the bruises on her body… The mute girl wasn't anything special. He would probably be disgusted by the sight of her marked body.

Silent Bob tilted his head, looking at Bess. Something changed in her to make her keep her head down, red in the cheeks. Jay must've offended her somehow. The mute man kissed the top of the mute girl's head, smiling as it seemed to snap her out of her slump.

Bess looked back up at Silent Bob, once again surprised by practically the only person that understood her. Maybe this day would go better if Jay wasn't around. Silent Bob nodded in thought. He and Bess had to arrange a date at some point. Just the two of them without their friend to spoil the mood.

"Dude, if you're going to bang her, try to get her to talk", Jay said. "Fucking a mute's going to be weird."

Silent Bob nudged his elbow into his friend's side. His love life was none of the stoner's business. If Bess didn't want to talk, that was her own choice. Silent Bob wasn't going to force her.

Bess glared at the two men, hearing Jay's words. It got her thinking. She didn't like to talk, stemming from being shy and mainly… because of her father. If she was going to get anywhere with Silent Bob, he had to know sooner or later. He and Jay looked at Bess, hearing her stomach growl. It was well past lunchtime, and she hadn't eaten all day.

"Damn, you're louder than this tubby bitch when he's hungry", Jay scoffed.

Bess smiled with a red face before she felt a tug. Silent Bob brought her over to the food court.

"Dude, I knew it!" Jay pointed at the two mutes. "You're totally dating her!"

Bess and Silent Bob were holding hands and getting food. That counted as a date in his book.

"You guys get something for me. I got to take a piss."

He walked away, leaving the two alone. Silent Bob looked at Bess and tilted his head, letting her decide what to eat. The silent girl pointed to the cookie shop, making him smile. A girl after his own heart.

With Jay gone, Bess took a deep breath. She knew Silent Bob wasn't going to make fun of her for leaned in and kissed his cheek, surprising him. Her soft voice surprised him even further for the first time in days.

"Thank you…"
