A/N: There are some words you may not understand in the story. The following words' meanings are created as part of the story.
Anodite is a race of humanoid energy beings that manipulate and control life energy, the Force.
If you are a fan of Star Wars or know a bit about things, then the Force should be no problem to understand. The Force is an energy field created by all life that connected everything. In my stories, this Force will have additional things to make Force-wielders more powerful than the characters in Star Wars. In other words, users of the Force in this story and onwards don't just have the ability to sense things or do stuff with telekinesis, they can do a lot more than that. It's an idea I took from watching the MCU/Marvel Movies and Ben 10 shows.
Planet: Dantooine
The mission was a success. They managed to return to base without broken bones. Kryptonians don't really need to feel anxious about chances they could be forced to sit any future missions out. Part of the rebellion, the heavy weapons are the Kryptonians. They are gone, the strength of the rebellion is severely cut down regardless of a number of strong people in the team.
Inside the rebels' headquarters, they met with the rebels' leader who had congratulated them for completing the mission.
Mia wasn't feeling the appreciation toward the leader.
"With information gathered from that star cruiser, we can finally uncover the whereabouts of where they stashed kryptonite. No kryptonite, the less we have to worry about the threat of the Empire.", the rebel leader said.
"Don't be too proud of it. Even if kryptonite is gone, we still have a lot to worry about the Omega Lord, and the Inquisitors.", Kara said. She lowered her head, thinking about their recent mission. "Our last mission would've failed if there had been more backup the Empire would've done. When we fought the Grand Inquisitor, he had no backup. We assumed his backup was discreetly positioned for surprise attacks. No, there weren't. My x-ray vision confirms no living person is in there except the Grand Inquisitor.".
"What are you thinking, Kara?", the leader enquired.
"Back then, the Grand Inquisitor had a slim chance to stop us. Knowing his skills and his sorcery, the odds would favour him. He would've captured all of us, yet he chose to only hold Connor captive.", Kara said.
"Why capture Connor, and not a Kryptonian?", Mia questioned impatiently, and frustratingly. "The Empire seeks the best of Kryptonians to breed, and create new armies.".
"Connor...", Kara said sadly, looking down in pain over forced to witness Connor's capture. "...holds vital information about the rebel's base of operations.".
"If they probe his mind, there's a chance the Empire will know about our bases. They can destroy all the bases, and it wouldn't matter if we know the secret locations to stashes of kryptonite. We must consider Connor a liability to the rebellion!", the rebel said.
"What does that mean?", Mia asked eagerly.
"I'm saying Connor Queen is expendable, and that we must detonate the bomb. As I recall, Connor allowed the bomb to migrated the bomb into his suit. When the trigger hits, the bomb will explode his body, ending him.", the rebel said.
"You wouldn't dare!", Mia shouted wildly, her eyes igniting red, fists clenched tightly, ready to threaten the leader. The things she threw to form her anger were all ceased thanks to a hand thrown in front of Mia's face. Her mom is stopping her.
"We know where the Empire is taking Connor to. We just need an a jailbreak plan.", Kara said calmly.
"Impossible. The fortress is heavily secured, even kryptonite is used to shaft every room. You'll only have a death wish, going there.", said the rebel leader.
"I wasn't considering involving Kryptonians part of a plan", Kara retorted.
"Zatanna, Wonder Girl and Aquagirl are still in prison. Most of our best people with supernatural powers and superhuman abilities are dead. We don't have anyone left. The rebel forces at their weakest state.", the rebel leader said.
"An Anodite", Kara said.
"Haven't you heard? Zatanna is locked in prison, our only Anodite.", the rebel said.
"Not our only Anodite", Kara revealed. "We have a few more we can turn to for help, maybe, I'm not sure".
The rebel leader is confused. There shouldn't be any Anodites left in the Multiverse since the Dark Times.
"There's a rumour in Tatooine about a powerful magician that had the power to hypnotise creatures, there's even an implication she may be able to control humans.", Kara said. "Such magicians as that, it is without doubt it is a Force-user, or an Anodite that has the Force".
"And what if it's a trap?", the rebel leader said.
"I will take my chances", Kara said. She actually already had the feeling who the being is, considering she was in Tatooine for a short time. The short time was enough to convince Kara there is a Force-user. At the time, she did not wish to bother her. The situation is different now, it's about saving Connor.
"My mind hasn't changed on killing Connor. He is compromised-"
Mia knocked the rebel leader with a hard tap on the back of the neck, which stopped the leader speaking.
"Mia!", Kara exclaimed.
"Relax, I didn't kill her", Mia reassured her mother.
"Nevertheless, you shouldn't have done that", Kara said.
"You would've done the same thing, mom", Mia countered.
As much as she hates it, Kara acknowledges she had temptations wanting to make the rebel leader unconscious.
"I'll drag her out of the base. You go do your thing.", Mia said.
"I'm not sure that's such a good ide-", Kara was cut off when Mia sped away with the leader. She could've stopped her, she chose not to. "Never mind".
Kara leaves the rebel base, returning to her ship.
After taking the ship flying out of the planet, the Kryptonian launches the ship into hyperspace. His new destination is Tatooine.
Planet: Tatooine
Gusts of sand blasted toward the shelter, only to be averted by a conscious gravity resting around the small perimeter that covers the shelter. This shelter has been heavily fortified by only the power of Aelita's Force. Her Force ensured no danger befalls the siblings. The striking sand has convinced Aelita to sacrifice her travels for Ulrich's safety. This high price brought about proof of considering immortality is a curse. They haven't eaten in days. Has their skins eroded? Doesn't appear to be. Anodites don't age, able to live forever. Will she decide to move out of the planet with Ulrich?
No harmony, just an enormous swarm of sand, and the wind. She thought the desert heat is worse. In days, she quickly believed the sand is dangerous. They might not get killed by sand unless they have a conscious to kill them, but they can bury anything. No wonder the people prefer suicide rather than playing a punishable game with sand, about who will survive the longest. The endless amount of sand shows it always won, by driving people to madness.
She watched the night sky, the shroud of darkness over the light. She came to realise the many nights she experienced in many other planets, they are but a speck of dust compared to the endless desert of night. Another second, it is silence, another minute, she feels tranquillity, another hour, nothing changed with the real night. Does she require sleep? Helps to pass time, in her mind, motion will set its course, the night will engulf by the radiance of sunlight, and the blazes of dusty sand return. A good option? The option just doesn't feel right. Edges of darkness set forth unnatural things to cause havoc across them, creatures, brave and heartless monsters. Aelita recalls the countless she buried, even though she did not kill them, rather put them in an eternal trance.
The sand continued gusting faintly over the shelter. Time indeed passed, with not a single moment thinking about slumber. Its deceptive appearance can catch Aelita off guard, and drag Ulrich's unfortunate intertwined with hers, if it was that dark figure she fears the most. A cape, its face representing an expression of skeletal sculpture with glowing red eyes. The desert is blue. The dangers sighted are but a hair's breadth, sand and the small problems Aelita carried like a heap of deficient thoughts.
Another few minutes passed, Aelita saw nothing viewed from the naked eye, or a small immerse in the Force, a threat to herself and Ulrich. Maybe 10 minutes she can rest easy, and disregard the possibility of the feared monster appearing in Tatooine. The Dark Side has many times attempted to fluctuate her senses with Force into a rush of adrenaline, fear. Maybe this is the opportunity to tranquilise her connection to the Force, and lay her eyes shut.
With nothing perceived a danger, Aelita returned to the hut. She laid in her side of the bed, shared with Ulrich. She shut her eyes, finally relinquishing her connection to the Force, letting time's swiftness transcend to morning.
The next morning, she guarded the shelter with her reconnection to the Force. Since last night, the interior and the exterior areas stayed the same. What floats invisibly in the shelter is the air. Only physical bodies existing are herself and Ulrich, active and inactive.
The morning light shines constantly. The brightness of morning light tempts Aelita to travel to the towns. Part of Aelita wants to refrain from leaving the place, and leave Ulrich unprotected. If she had a person to really trust with her life to look after Ulrich, she would've widened her odysseys all around Tatooine. Prioritising Ulrich's safety drew borderlines on her journeys, prioritising her brother's safety also shrunk her little care for the people out there even though it wasn't her intention to act cold. Perchance the pure thought of keeping Ulrich safe decayed her capability to form friendships with sand dwellers.
Everything was checked with sharp awareness, she wasn't wrong about everything remains the same. No booby traps, no damages to objects she constructed by the Force, especially no marks distinguishable on Ulrich's body. This cycle of her life has been unchanged, an infinite loop, prolonged to 30 days. She might as well celebrate with another hour of slumbering.
Outside of Tatooine...
A ship entered the Tatoo system by using hyperspace, directing its course to Tatooine. Its speed slowed as the ship is prepared to safely enter the atmosphere.
Minutes of entering Tatooine, the ship submerged into the yellow cloudiness of Tatooine with a strong radiance pouring widely across the surface. The pilot is all alone, but doesn't need people with her to explore the dune sea. A job that can undoubtedly be handled by a Kryptonian, Kara Zor-El.
"Kara, might I advise against it", the AI from the ship said to its owner.
"Kelex, you worry too much. I am aware of my personal history with the Hutts, but this mission is nothing more than exploring Tatooine. That sluggish worm won't know I'm here.", Kara said.
Unbeknownst to her, it her confidence will turn into consequence.
Kelex warns Kara about incoming blasts firing the ship.
"Shit, that slimy worm is onto me.", Kara said, shocked he discovered she was in Tatooine so quickly.
She attempted to avoid the blasts. Despite dodging a few, her ship inevitable got blasted by some lasers, damaging the ship. She's losing balance, and uncontrollably falling. "If the ship is destroyed, I have no chance ever leaving Tatoo system in one piece". She can't breathe in the vacuum of space while travelling from one planet to another in a very, very long distance.
Kara tried to pull the wheels, trying to swerve the ship for a safer landing, and preventing an explosion. Her efforts are futile once Kara was engulfed in a green-lighted explosion that instantly caused her to lose conscious.
Aelita and Ulrich's shelter
A sudden shock from the Force alarmed Aelita, snapping her awake. She rose, examining her surroundings. Was someone here? She checked, with the senses from the Force to guide her sharp pointiness on where possibly might the person be in. She slowly relaxed before trying to understand why that feeling was. Why is this presence so familiar? She hadn't felt this presence almost 2 decades. It happens now.
Aelita put together the pieces in the puzzle of why she experienced the sudden shock. It's a person she knew, someone that has arrived in Tatooine just now. A terrible feeling of what has happened to this person. "Kara?", Aelita exclaimed in shock, finally realising who it was. She is in trouble, and her suffering will occur unless Aelita prevents. The prevention is halted by thinking about Ulrich. She admits she's left Ulrich a couple of times alone, this situation seems different. "I can't.".
She turns away, refusing to step out to the light. Denial of stepping into the light, engulfed herself to darkness, four people roughly her size appeared out of nowhere. She was about to get into fighting stance, which stopped when she recognised them. It was impossible seeing them. She knew what happened to them. So how are they here? Has the Dark Side come to fissure the surface under her to force her embrace darkness? "No.", Aelita understood why she sees them. She made an oath that no things would happen the same way it happened to the people she sees before her. This is a reminder to not leave friends to suffer. Ghosts of Odd, Yumi, William and Jeremy finally brought a piercing effect to end her anxious feelings of Ulrich, and fear of trying to help others.
Aelita sets foot in the light, heading to where she believes is where Kara is captured in.
Unknown to Aelita, Ulrich's eyes started moving.
A/N: Yeah, it's true in the story. Jeremy, William, Odd and Yumi are dead. It will be explained later in the story. I might have an idea later in the story about their possible resurrections.
There is indeed a personal history between Supergirl and Jabba the Hutt.
DC fans might know Zatanna as a magician with mystic powers. You might have seen a mention of it in this chapter. In this story, Zatanna is an Anodite. Not a human.
