Bill kept a lead in front of everyone and behind him was Nathan since they were the most trained for this situation, Lucas was scared of the problems that Carol may have caused and that gunshot came from her, but he had to stop overthinking.

"These woods are too big, do you think we should split up?" Lucas asked

"I don't think that's the safest idea, it could lead to very dangerous measures," Bill replied and Nathan agreed.

"I think we all should just keep an eye out in every direction." Nathan requested,

"Alright," the two men replied.

Elizabeth was holding Evah as tight as she could but Kenzie was too far from her reach she felt like she needed to do something but one wrong move and Carol could pull the trigger… it also didn't help that they were tied up.

Elizabeth prayed in her head "Someone please find us and save these girls so we can get home safe and sound" as she went back to reality she heard footsteps behind her but didn't look back.

The men walked through the woods for a while and they heard chatting, Bill stopped at the sight of people on the ground tied up and carol standing with a gun in her hand talking to them yet he couldn't hear what they were saying.

"Guys look!" Bill whispered. Lucas and Nathan peeked over.

"Elizabeth!!" Lucas said a bit too loud and Nathan put his hand over his mouth.

"Shhh, if we want this to work we can't let them hear us."

Lucas breathed in scared of what could happen, she was the love of his life and he wanted her to know that. Plus his daughter was so scared he wanted to let a flood of tears go, but he kept strong.

The boys hid behind some trees bringing up some ideas for a plan.

"Okay, boys I think I got it," Bill said, the two other men looked at him in curiosity.

"I will go out first and she will wanna shoot so then Nathan can come to get the gun and then handcuff her.."

"That sounds a bit too easy," Lucas replied.

"But it's worth a shot..."

"And what if someone gets hurt!!"

Bill shushed him with his finger "Look I know this is scary but you gotta keep quiet."

Lucas calmed himself now willing to try this plan Bill had thought of.

Nathan went behind the back and saw Carol so he stood there in place to wait. Then it was time to get in action, Bill walked out and held up his pistol

"Ma'am let these girls go!" Carol pointed the gun at Bill

"I will as soon as this woman hands over my daughter!"

"I'm afraid that isn't gonna happen..." Bill replied.

"Then I have no choice but to shoot the two of you.."

"And leave these poor kids without a mom?" Carol stepped closer which intimidated the three girls sitting on the ground.

"Once this is over Kenzie will have her mom" Elizabeth knew that's not what Kenzie wanted she could see the fear in that little girl's eyes.

Bill stepped closer to meet Carol "I repeat let them go!"

"No!!" Bill cocked his gun and Carol went to shoot,

"Now!!!" Bill yelled and Nathan cane out and pointed it to the air so no one got hit. He took Carol's arms and handcuffed her.

"This isn't the end of this!!!" Carol said getting pulled by Nathan.

"I'll meet you guys back in town," Nathan said taking Carol back on his horse.

Lucas ran to Kenzie and untied her while Bill did the same to Evah and Elizabeth, Bill hugged the two of them "I'm glad you two are okay"

"Thank you, Bill!" Elizabeth said.

"No problem" he smiled.

"I'm gonna head back to help Nathan I'll see you guys later." Elizabeth nodded and smiled as they git up and Elizabeth held Evah in her embrace.

Lucas hugged Kenzie as tightly as he could when she was untied "Did she hurt you, sweetheart?"

"No daddy but I don't like her... I don't want her to be my mommy."

"Don't worry baby she will never come near us again!" Lucas kissed her on the head.

"I want Lizzy to be my mommy!"

Lucas looked over at Elizabeth wanting the same thing... As Evah and Kenzie left their parent's embrace to go to each other Lucas walked toward Elizabeth.

"Lucas I..." Lucas wrapped her in his embrace and just hugged her as tight as he could for a minute or two. When they let go Lucas wiped the sweat off his head

"Elizabeth, the past few days I've been so scared. And I've been worrying Kenzie would get hurt or even you and Evah! But you showed me so much and I don't wanna let you go, your the best thing that has happened to me and...and I love you," he said with his wholehearted emotions.

Elizabeth looked at him with tears in her eyes,

"Lucas I love you too!" he was blushing, the feeling was mutual and he found love! He pulled her with his arms and kissed her, all the fear and heartbreak went away. He had his girl in his arms.

The girls started giggling at their parents and the two pulled apart joining in their laughter.

"What do you girls say we go get some ice cream?" Lucas asked.

"Yes!!" they shouted.

Elizabeth took Lucas's hand and the girls walked in front of them.

"Do you know how bad I wanted to jump in front and take the gunshot so you could be let go?"

Lucas stated. "I know, but we are all okay and that's what matters..."

Lucas smiled and put his head to hers as they continue to walk back into town happy as they could be sharing laughs and talks on the way home.
