Summary: After resolving the problem to a promise he made to Hexy, it was time to head for the most cursed town in the country. Though, it wouldn't just be an easy stroll to get there.

Note: It's been awhile my friends but here it is. Hope you enjoy another extra long chapter. Don't forget to review.

Heading back inside of the tower to check on Gloria and Victor, we were both pleasantly surprised as the two found the siblings among a KOed Oleana and with the brother holding hands with Marnie.

"Guess that's where two one one gets you", I shrugged. The lipstick wearing assistant was totally unconscious but breathing. Though can't say if I would've given her the privilege. All of this evil me and my 'family' have faced had hardened me to the core at this point, with little mercy to spare on people or pokemon willing to kill us.

Seeing Victor hold hands with the pretty emo girl was rather sweet to see. "So, how's Marnie holding up"? I asked my Scottish friend.

Gloria teased. "They're getting' chummy to say the least, from this little reunion".

"Come on sis, give me a break". He retorted. "I missed her".

Marnie smiled. Something rare to them but nothing I'd expect or not expect, having just met her. "Thanks for coming to get me...Victor". She avoided looking him right in the eyes, shyly.

He put a hand to her cheek and gently moved her to face and look at him. "Of course. Actually...I've done some talking with our new friends here and...well. I considered it and I...I want you to be my girlfriend". He blurted out the last part quickly and closed his eyes.

The emo girl was flabbergasted. "You...you what"?

Victor blushed, but tried again, eyes still closed. "Will you...please be my girlfriend Marnie"?

Marnie's emerald green eyes seemed to sparkle a little. "Y...you want me? To be your...girlfriend"? The cute emo was flustered, but it seemed she was happy as well upon hearing those words.

"Do you...accept"? Victor asked her with equally sparkling eyes. "It's a decision I've had to think a lot about. So...now that I've finally gotten it off of my chest. What do you have to say"?

Marnie was silent for a few moments, as if thinking it over. But sure enough she made a heartwarming call for the both of them. "...Yes". Victor's eyes lit up like a Christmas Tree.

"You...you will"?! She nodded at his question and he pulled her into an immediate hug. Her arms hung of the sides, until she gave a little smile and hugged back, closing her eyes.

The tender moment was sweet to say the least. "Young love I guess", commented Gloria. But as for me, watching their little relationship sprout was so sweet, I couldn't help but look to Hexy, wanting the same.

My hex maniac best friend looked back. As we exchanged glances, she flashed me a little smile. Which in turn made me form one myself, because surely that meant she was thinking the same thing as me.

Pulling out of the hug, the two weren't done it seemed. The happy Scottish boy put a hand to her cheek and as if instinct, he moved the bang covering part of her other eye.

No words were exchanged, instead just looks. Victor gulped, but knew he had just made a move, so it was on him. As if his gears were grinding, Marnie just stood there looking at him, almost expecting what was going to happen.

"Oi, just kiss 'er already". Gloria encouraged. But it just made them both blush.

Embarrassed or not though, her little brother leaned in and Marnie closed her eyes, her lovely pale lips puckering up ever so slightly. Her mouth open slightly as if you could slide an envelope into it.

In a single little heartfelt moment, Victor too shut his eyes as he neared her lips. He'd never kissed a girl before, so this was something special for him even more.

Pressing their lips together, a light 'smooch' was heard. The little kiss lasted no more than ten seconds, but it was enough of a sight to make our own hearts get butterflies it was so cute.

"About time brother, I was wonderin' if ye had the guts in the first place. But ya proved me wrong". Gloria supported.

Leaving the two be, I turned my attention to the sassy Scottish girl. "Well, sorry to just up and leave you both but, time is of the essence for us. I need to find Ethan, and with Eternatus dead, our part is complete".

She shrugged. "Eh, not too broken up about it. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we met the two of ya. But I'd say it's about time we part".

"We'll come visit if we make it back from our journey alive", I promised her. "But, hopefully this place doesn't go to Hell while we're gone". I added to be optimisitc.

Departing on a happy note, Hexy and I left Galar behind for the time being, utilizing the pilot's services to reach Aether House and speak to Acerola again of our job well done before planning to head to Johto.

Finding her in the library reading to and telling stories to her younger friends Piko and Nene, we wave her down. "Excuse me you two, I need to speak with them", Acerola shooed away the kids politely.

"I can only feel that since you've made it bac in one piece, the job is done. You've come to give me the good news, haven't you"? She asked.

"Dead. Mutilated. Petrified". I clarified. "That hell spawn of an alien, dragon, skeleton...is done for. There's no way it could come back from the beating we gave it. Besides..", I showed her the core, "...He can't live again without this".

Her eyes widened with expression, as she was impressed. "The visions were right...you two are meant to beat Suecra".

I slipped the big chunk back into my backpack. "Well, now that business is taken care of, we're headed off to Johto".

"Hold on a minute". Acerola stopped us. We halted at her insistence. "You don't have to go there...just yet".

"What do you mean"? I was confused. "That's where the unowns are. We have to destroy them and their dimension. I NEED to find Ethan".

"Well, that's the thing", the lavender haired girl went on to explain. "I know where Ethan is. I..had another vision. But...you might not like it".

"Is it related to Ethan"? She got my hopes up. "You know his actual location"?!

"Indeed I do. But, it's a place of unspeakable evils where he is...are you sure you want the answer". Acerola questioned.

At this point I didn't care. It'd been so long I couldn't even remember what my adopted brother sounded like. "Please, just tell".

She sighed, but answered. "Lavender Town". My heart sunk slightly. Literal Hell on Earth if such a location could ever exist.

"Lavender Town…"? I repeated back. "Ethan is in that place of unspeakable deeds"? I shook my head, "Why? Of all places"?

Then I thought it over. Pokemon Tower. Maybe he went there to properly mourn Celebi and Hurry after they died. Maybe he decided to stay there. That must be it, I concluded. But then I had another question in my head. 'Why would he stay there and not right me'?

"I guess...it's time to head back home then, to Kanto". I declared. "Thanks for telling us Acerola. I mean it. Now don't worry, we'll handle Suecra and the unowns, but this is my priority right now. I've waited a LONG time to reunite with him".

"One last thing you must know". The ghost type trainer halted us one more time. Her face looked worried. "Suecra, has MANY powers. So be wary. Because, what's coming once you leave this place, will indeed instill trepidation".

"What is it"? I asked.

Acerola nodded. "I...can't tell exactly but, it will affect you in particular. One single word popped into my head during it. 'Doppelganger'. I'm sure you know what that is".

I turned to Hexy. "I guess I'd better keep a close eye on you then. I'm not about to fall for the tricks of an evil copy". I assured her.

"Goodbye Acerola". We waved to her whilst walking out the door of the building. She wished us good luck and to return safely, but other than that not much else.

Hexy then pulled me aside, "Hold up a moment Lars. I need to talk with you. It's important".

"Yeah"? I was listening attentively.

"We're going back to Kanto, right? Well...remember how that 'sister' asked for our help? Since we're already headed that way back to Kanto, I figured we could hit Viridian". She requested

I remembered the promise indeed, even after all this time. But I kept my promises, so I wasn't about to flake out on one, let alone one I made to her 'sister'; by extension her.

"Of course Hexy. We'll make a detour", I reaffirmed it. "I promised you and her".

At that she embraced me in a firm hug. "Thank you Lars". Hearing her say that was different. Heartfelt and genuine. Similar to how it was during the Ferris Wheel ride and other 'intimate' moments. Hexy definitely meant it. I couldn't let her down.

"So, let's book a flight to Viridian then. After that we'll head for...Lavender Town". I paused at that name. But at this point I was less scared and more exhausted. Knowing full well Lavender Town more likely than not wouldn't have just one evil entity in it.

As they landed in Viridian proper, thanks to their pilot pal, Hexy wondered. "Why do you have such a gripe with Lavender Town"?

I raised an eyebrow, "You serious? The entire place is a breeding ground for horror stories. And based upon what we've come across, I wouldn't put it past all of those stories being true".

Hexy nodded. She seemingly understood my caution. It's not so much I was afraid anymore, but instead weary of all the crap we've gone through. But hey, what's maybe a dozen more?

Wandering the streets and heading to the center of the city, we passed by the formerly drunk old man's house in the outskirts from earlier in our journey where I was captured by the drifloon.

Every single multistory building was marble white and most of them were so close together it's like the cramped streets were all alleyways. After stopping for a bite to eat, it was about noontime now.

Eventually, we found what we came for. The Viridian City gym. A small looking building with a fountain betwixt two sets of stairs. The walkway leading to the doors consisted of old streetlamps and the building itself looked lopsided and tacky with the fake wood motif.

Heading through the double doors, we enter to find the gym relatively empty, with not a soul in sight. Easy for us to get to Giovanni's office of course.

"This feels...off", I told Hexy. "Not a person in sight, not even Rocket grunts". Walking through the long gravel filled stadium, it was so quiet we could hear the ground crunch underneath us.

Once on the other side, we both found the doors to his office unlocked. The door creaked open as we entered, a calm and collected voice called to us. "Welcome, I've been expecting you".

Across the room, like Rose, was the man known as Giovanni sporting an orange business suit and tie. Turning around and planting his shoulders firmly on the desk and holding his chin on his hands, he gave an evil smile.

"Expecting us, huh? How's that"? I gave my valid question.

"I have eyes and ears everywhere boy. You and your girlfriend there have some exceptional artifacts and pokemon on hand. I mean to take them off your hands". He continued his smug glare. "I know it was the both of you who took out Eternatus. Very impressive". He added a slow clap.

"We're not giving you shit, you evil mob boss. It's no secret you lead Team Rocket. At least not anymore. Either way you're not walking out of here unless in handcuffs or otherwise". I stated.

Giovanni stroked his persian. "Heh...heh heh heh. I'm clean of all allegations you two could possibly pin on me. Unless you have a wire tap, my nose is clean. I'm willing to bet you don't".

We didn't say anything to that. He went on, "Team Rocket is a means to an end, an organization I inherited from my mother. Yes, being a gym leader is a front, but my grunts are hardly ever seen with me directly. I simply want as much power and money as I can. When life gives you lemons…".

We both scoffed. "You REALLY think after all me and Lars have gone through that we'll lose to you"? Hexy gave him a piece of our mind. "You haven't beaten gardevoirs from Hell, or psychotic pikachus and lust filled psychic types".

I entered the conversation. "Not to mention Eternatus. You're just a human, albeit a skilled and sleazy one. BUT, you couldn't even keep your Mewtwos from escaping. Oh yeah, we beat one of them too".

"Bah". He stood up and planted his persian onto the desk. "My patience grows thin. Hand over what I want, otherwise it's going to get messy. And I hate...messy".

"Well I hate evil pricks like you walking free but we can't all get what we want". I rolled my eyes in annoyance.

Then he said something that made me want to snap his neck then and there. "Well I hate snotty little brats who won't cooperate. But I suppose looking for your negligent 'brother' Gold will alter one's personality".

"Don't you DARE bring him up! You have NO right to mention his name you scumbag"! I lost my temper.

"Yes, he got my badge. But only narrowly. He wasn't nearly as skilled as one would believe at first glance. All that confidence yet still a familial failure when it comes to remembering his family. He's probably dead". Giovanni tugged at my last straw.

I lost it completely. "You MOTHERFUCKER! I'm going to make sure you not only go to the slammer, but I'll be sure to paralyze you from the neck down"!

The Team Rocket leader didn't have a worry, or care in the world. Even with the odds stacked against him, he didn't seem to care. He wasn't a quitter I had to give him that. Even in my enraged state, and knowing he had no chance he still wanted what we had.

I tossed out a pokeball, "Umbreon, come on out boy"! He appeared in a blue ray of light, 'Umbre'.

Giovanni's persian leapt off the desk and got prepared to battle, hissing at us. '*HISS*'! He have a cocky smile, "Go ahead. Take the first move".

I wasn't exactly thinking straight, just wanting a high damaging move right away. "Umbreon, use Double-Edge". My cat bunny creature sprinted forward and tackled the rather normal looking felidae.

Fumbling around like actual cats in the wild, the persian took the full brunt of it, but having been a headbutt tackle, Umbreon took some concussive damage in return, though little.

The persian pushed him off and he sprinted back over to me. Giovanni then made his first move. "Use Play Rough".

The large muscular cat ran over on all fours to pounce on top of Umbreon, creating a cloud of dust as they did.

Jumping out of the cloud afterwards, the dust cleared to reveal Umbreon with scratches all over, though thankfully he was mostly fine.

"Sorry buddy. But I need you to continue. Use Dark Pulse". He turned his head back to me and acknowledged. His yellow body rings began to glow and out came a barrage of black, dark energy rings to hit the cream colored cat.

The persian jolted back from the attack, taking decent damage but nothing too severe. "Use U-Turn", barked Giovanni in retaliation.

In a blaze of yellow light, the oversized cat sprinted towards Umbreon with great finesse. But I wasn't about to let my friend take the blow. Actually putting more thought into my approach now that the brief anger settled, I ordered him to dodge. "Get out of the way Umbreon".

My black cat bunny friend scrambled away just in time, leaving the persian to skid out and slam headfirst into the wall behind Umbreon previously.

'Mrow…', the persian groaned. "Time to fin ish it off. Umbreon, use Swift". I took a note from EEeEE.

His red eyes shined with determination as he sprinted on all fours towards the disoriented cat. Colliding into the feline pokemon, the impact sent it packing. Skidding across the floor, the persian was knocked unconscious and shut its eyes as proof. Hopefully it wasn't dead.

Giovanni gave another slow clap, "Not bad". He returned the feline to its ball, then took out another. "But I've got more than just one of course".

Out of the next one came a wide rock monster; a golem. The roly poly pokemon growled at me directly. Recalling Umbreon, I brought out my trusty female jellyfish. "Come on out Frillish. I need your water expertise".

She was happy to be out again, spreading out her tentacles with a happy, 'Frill'.

Before the boulder looking monster could get the first move, I took it right away, knowing of it's 4x weakness to water. "Frillish, use Water Gun". I started off with something simple.

Filling her cheeks with water, puffing them up like a squirrel, Frillish spewed out a steady jet of water. The stream hit the opposing pokemon smack dab in the face. 'Gol..! Bh bhb brr bhg', he tried to move his head away. But the heavy damage had already been taken.

Giovanni seemed like he could care less. "Use Bulldoze". The golem lifted one of its clawed feet then stamped the ground with it, giving a roar of dominance.

The ground shook a little, though that didn't effect the floating jelly girl. The the stubby monster rolled into a ball and charged for her like she was a pin. Bouncing like a spring, he crashed into her.

My poor friend took it, but she did so like a champ. Slamming both of them into the wall and pancaking her, Frillish shoved him off of her and right back towards Giovanni after taking the damage.

The man in the business suit ducked out of the way as his desk was destroyed by the balled up pokemon. "Idiot"! He insulted.

"Our turn", I cut him off. "Besides, you can buy 100 more with all that blood money you've saved up. Anyways, Frillish, use Water Pulse".

As the golem recovers, pulling itself off the debris, my pretty water type makes a circle with her tentacles and put it over her mouth like a bubble wand.

Blowing out, rings of fast moving liquid water pulse towards the recovering ball of rock and flesh, just to knock him down again and cause more severe damage.

"Get up and use Stone Edge", Giovanni demands. The thing was like a turtle as it struggled to pull itself back onto its feet, though it eventually succeeded.

Raising its short claws into the air, he then planted them down aggressively onto the office floor. The ground shook quite a bit, as then three jagged columns of rock sprouted out from the wood.

One of them pierced Frillish's tentacle. 'Frillish'! She shouted. The other columns weren't even close, but that one caused her to bleed.

Ripping it off with her pokemon strength, Frillish teared a little, as one of her 3 leg tentacles was ripped clean off just to get off of the rocky spike.

She winced in pain at the action, in agony from her limb separated so brutishly from her body. I sneered at the sight. "I'll kill you for that you bastard"! I yelled to the Team Rocket leader.

He just gave the same bored stare, "Is that so"? I wanted to rip his throat out. But, that could wait. I needed to focus on my injured friend.

"Frillish...I", then an idea hit me to at least staunch the bleeding. "Frillish, use Giga Drain". With the added severe damage to the drain itself, the golem would most likely faint.

Frillish nodded, writhing a little, but I knew she could do it. Raising up her tentacle arms she shot out a steady stream of green energy rays, which hit the golem directly in his broad body.

After penetrating his coarse skin, the energy came back out and flowed into Frillish. Before my eyes her wound was healed and her scars from the prior hits dissipated.

Meanwhile, the golem collapsed face first on its snout in defeat, utterly drained of all its energy.

Giovanni started to look annoyed, and simply tossed out his next pokemon after returning the golem. This time, out came a large fiddler crab. A kingler.

I returned Frillish, "Take a rest Frill, you'll be okay". I tossed out Gourgeist next. "Okay Gourgeist, I need your grass type now".

My beautiful purple 'haired' pumpkin pokemon popped out ready to fight. 'Gour'. "Okay, use Energy Ball". She nodded her long necked head and put her hands in front of the jack-o-lantern face.

Her palms glowed green and when she removed them from covering her mouth after, a huge ball of similar colored grass green spat out and right into the crustacean pokemon.

Kingler recoiled from the weakness attack, then snapped its large claw in anger at her. "Use Brutal Swing". Giovanni ordered.

Opening up its now black glowing claw, the sea creature crawled over on its spider like legs to try and snip at Gourgeist. She was too agile for him, despite her bulky size.

Hovering back, away and to the sides, she slapped the claw away with one of her leafy arms. Having failed the attack, his master shook his head and kicked the crab himself.

"Gourgeist, use Seed Bomb"! She acknowledged and picked off little pellets from her arms that sprouted upon command. Grabbing the seedlings, she tossed them at the crab, growing and exploding in clusters upon impact.

The kingler's already bulging eyes, bulged further at the attack. 'King'! Explosive powder flew all over the place, and once it cleared, the crustacean was obviously quite injured.

The exoskeleton pokemon must've been weak, as it only took a couple moves to get him critical. But on the other hand, could we me and Hexy have fought so many monstrosities, we weren't used to easy targets.

"Ice beam. Now"! The crab's master spoke. Kingler opened up its big claw again to reveal a big hole inside like a cannon. Out shot a ray of solidified water.

The beam hit her head on, and encapsulated her within a block of ice, as well as caused good damage to her. But the ice block didn't seem to matter.

The ice melted rather quickly as the flame in her jack-o-lantern burned bright and turned it into water in no time flat.

"Great! Nice job Gourgeist", I encouraged. "Now, use Grass Knot". She gave a sadistic smile and then tosses another cluster of seeds from her purple stem arms onto the ground in front of us.

Lobbing the little pellets onto the ground, they burrow underneath the wooden floor, destroying more of the office. Within moments, the seeds sprout up and snag kingler's four arachnid like legs.

Pulling them out from under him, the coconut crab sized crustacean flips over and lands completely upside down, making the pokemon struggle and twitch as he can't get back up.

Gourgeist laughs at his expense, the water type struggling to get back up, but as for me I couldn't help but feel sorry for it. After all, not like he was a demonic or malicious pokemon like the ones encountered prior. He was just an average water type following his master's orders.

After about a minute and a half of futile fidgeting, the crab gives up. The Team Rocket boss facepalms. Tossing his ball at the crab, he recalls it and prepares his next pokemon with an irritated glare.

Out comes a rhydon, already wearing its resting bitch face. Or bulldog face, you decide. Either way he did not look happy. But since Gourgeist had what I needed and she was relatively unscathed, I opted to keep using her.

Giovanni went first this time, considering I hadn't switched and Gourgeist just took her turn last. "Use Shadow Claw".

The rhydon's short little the clawed fingers glowed purple and he charged towards my ghostly grass type like the savage animal it was.

"Gourgeist! Dodge". I told her. She narrowly avoided her long neck being slashed by the short, yet sharpened nails of the upright rhino. But at least upon his failing throat slitting actions, he was up close enough for an immediate counterattack.

"Gourgeist, use Power Whip"! My favorite gourd girl extended her purple arm hair vine stems. Stretching them out as if made of elastic material.

True to the name she elongates both and starts whipping at the hard skinned drill pokemon. You wouldn't think something as durable as natural armor would be weak to vegetation but, guess the stronger you are the lighter things begin to hurt.

The grass gashed his skin, leaving some bleeding patches from where she hit on his chest now. The damage taken was obviously a blow, upon seeing the rhino creature writhe almost right away and wince.

"Use Fire Blast"! Giovanni didn't even give the thing a breather before shouting an order. Regardless, the rhydon obeyed his master.

Taking a big breath, he opened up his toothed mouth and spewed out a jet of flames like one of those fire breathers you'd see in the Middle East.

Gourgeist was too slow this time and I wasn't too prepared as she was immolated int a blaze of fire. Looking around as quickly as possible, Gourgeist started screaming in pain, now taking burn damage too.

"Shit! Shit"! I cried out, looking around for anything. Then I heard the sound of smashing glass.

"Here, catch"! Hexy shouted at me, tossing a fire extinguisher. I wasted no time and sprayed the foam all over my pumpkin girl, dowsing her misery from the flames.

Upon it being emptied I tossed the can aside. "Thanks Hexy, you're a life saver". Gourgeist nodded in agreement to that, while I rummaged through my backpack and took out a rawst berry. Some kind of blue strawberry used for burns.

Throwing it to Gourgeist she quickly ingested it with a gulp. I could see it slid down her long throat. After being treated, the battle had to resume however. No way I was letting this asshole win after what he had just done to my pokemon. My family.

"Gourgeist, use Grass Knot again". She was all too happy to do so. Planting the figurative and literal 'seeds of change', she threw down some more of her seemingly never ending supply.

Jutting out from the ground just as fast as the last time, the seeds came back out as large green vines to latch onto the rhydon's stubby legs and trip him up.

Falling onto his spiny back, he was heavy enough to net an easy kind of critical damage, on top of it being his weakness as well, he definitely took a blow.

Unlike the kingler though, he managed to pull himself back up, now with rejuvenated anger in his already red eyes, the drill pokemon was eager for the next order.

"Use Fire Fang". Scraping at the ground with its animalistic foot like a bull ready to charge, he ran straight for Gourgeist, bearing his sharp teeth, which were now flaming orange with fire.

Preparing to sink his teeth into her, Gourgeist wasn't having any of it. Presumably angered herself from that last attack of being burned alive, which was understandable, she performed her next move without my say so.

Finishing off the rhino pokemon herself, she used Razor Leaf. Lowering her head stump down towards the unrelenting pokemon, she sent out bladed leaves out which acted like dozens of severe paper cuts.

Unlike Power Whip, it didn't scar the pokemon, but it definitely beat him and caused severe scratches all over his body, though nothing too serious. Fainting after the move had taken its course, he fell like a rock, his eyes shut harder than a pickle jar.

Giovanni looked steamed now, which even I could tell, probably meant he was down to his last fighter. Returning the rhydon, he tossed out a machamp.

The hulking beefcake was always one of the more weirder looking things in my opinion. Four arms like a certain TV show character, and of course those weird duck lips. A hodge podge of muscle and sideshow.

Regardless, I still kept Gourgeist. Because like it or not, Giovanni had fucked himself sending out a solely fighting type against a ghost type. But to be fair, it's not like he had any other options.

"Use Flamethrower". The man wasted no time. Machamp pulled a rhydon and puffed up his chest with a deep breath before blowing out and belching a steady stream of fire.

Luckily we were prepared this time and I ordered Gourgeist to dodge as soon as possible. My floating pumpkin girl backed away almost immediately, robbing Giovanni the pleasure of getting damage in.

"Give it up you crook! You've lost already, you're just delaying the inevitable. You're not getting our artifacts, and you're most certainly NOT taking away my family"!

"Gourgeist, use…", I took a look outside to see we had been in here awhile. Out the window in full view was the moon, and I knew what opportunity that presented. "...Use Moonblast"!

She spread her arm vines out upward and faced towards the window, letting the moonlight empower her like some kind of nocturnal photosynthesis.

Absorbing the energy of the satellite, her jack-o-lantern face began to glow even brighter and a whitish hue surrounded her body. Honestly she looked almost angelic.

After taking in as much of the sun reflected light as she could, my gourd pokemon's jack-o-lantern face, both eyes and mouth started to glow exponentially.

Like the sound of a generator starting up or the like, I heard a 'whirring' and after she charged up all that accumulated energy, she smiled with an open mouth and cried, 'Gourrrrrgeiiiiiiist'!

The machamp looked absolutely shocked as her white beam of energy shot out and utterly decimated him, in ONE move. My eyes as well as Giovanni's, machamp and even Hexy's widened at the incredible sight.

The four armed freak show of muscle mass was sent careening into and THROUGH the nearest wall with a crash, completely put out of commission. His eyes shut the second that beam combined with smashing into that wall happened.

Giovanni stamped his foot in frustration. "You've lost"! I stated pointblank. Now...it's time to settle your accounts". Despite being slightly shorter than him I took him by the collar of his suit and pulled him towards my face.

"Remember that young girl your grunts murdered in Lumiose years back"? He of course had that look of having no idea who I was talking about. "Of course you don't! You either are simply oblivious to the actions of your men, OR you simply don't care"!

I tossed him on his ass to the floor, "Now…". Before I could continue talking, a form manifested from the corner of the room. A hex maniac.

It was the ghost girl. She wore a happy smile and floated over towards the three of us. "You...you actually did it. He's beaten". Her surprise was noted.

"That's right. We held up our promise. He's beaten. So do whatever you want with him. He can go to jail, he can…".

"No"! I was interrupted again, "Jail time is too good for him. The mewtwos, the endless conquests for money and power. Taking away innocent pokemon. OUR friends! Then of course...MURDER"!

Giovanni's usual unflinching eyes widened as the ghost girl used some kind of telekinesis to put him in a choke hold and move him in closer to herself, floating like she was.

"So many sins...so little morals". She got up in his face, "I'll show you EXACTLY what it's like to suffer". The ghost girl sadistically smiled at him.

Turning to us, she smiled in an 180 of her conversation with him. She wasn't evil, but she was definitely a vengeful spirit, and knowing what Charon did to the pokemon and people he 'collected', I could assume she meant to do the same to Giovanni her. Not that I had any qualms whatsoever.

"Thank you. Thank you both...so much". She teared a little. "I can rest in peace now once he's taken care of. Be with my own pokemon, whatever became of them. I'll take solace knowing this scum is no longer at large".

Hexy walked up to her, "We're glad to have helped you, 'sister'". She smiled at the ghost girl. The girl in turn did something unexpected. She embraced Hexy.

Going tangible for the briefest of moments, the apparition hugged Hexy in heartwarming hold. "Thank you too, 'sister'. You both have let a lost soul have her rest".

"But now, it's time for debts to be paid", she turned her attention back to Giovanni was a malicious glare. "You and I...are going to have a nice...long...talk".

The last thing heard before they both vanished before our eyes was the sound of Giovanni screaming his lungs out. But, while I should've felt something, I couldn't bring myself to care less about his fate. "He got what was coming to him", I stated coldly to Hexy. She didn't seem to disagree, just nodded.

Taking the pokemon that were formerly his and dropping them off at the pokemon center, we both decided to stay the night there. But, before we went to bed, there was the matter of speaking with Gourgeist.

"Hey Gourgeist". I called to her. She was the only pokemon out of her ball. "About that Moonblast". She nodded.

"That was amazing. You absolutely destroyed that thing. I never knew you were so powerful". My praise echoed through her ear holes, making blush a little.

"But yeah, I just wanted to say you killed it out there Gourgeist. Really. Amazing work helping me take out not just one, but three of Giovanni's pokemon". My purple haired friend hovered over and pulled me into a hug. 'Gourg'. I held her back, patting her stem hair.

She didn't even ask me to 'pleasure' her. It was simply mutual affection. That was how I could tell we had gotten to a point past master and pokemon. This pretty, plump gourd was as part of my new family as even Gary's former Umbreon now was.

The next morning, after brushing and showering, as well as grabbing a warm meal with Hexy and the others. Finally, we left Viridian behind at last for good.

Heading south through Route 1 and passing through Pallet Town, being so close to my true home as well as near one of the first places I ever ventured with Hexy a long ways back; it was a sort of messed up form of nostalgia.

I had thought about checking on everyone, including legendary Ash Ketchum, but we were too busy. Besides, the note from Red wasn't going anywhere. Regardless, I felt I shouldn't forego holding such a family related matter from him. So on our way through, I decided to take out the letter and set it down on his doorstep before we took our leave.

From there we just took a boat directly from there to Vermillion City, instead of wasted the precious time we might waste by trekking for an extra couple days or so.

Arriving at the port, the first thing to catch both of our eyes was the S.S Anne. A giant luxury cruise ship that'd probably drain our wallets just from looking at it. All the money we obtained from Cynthia included.

Though one thing other than the liner caught my eyes. "Hey, what's that"? I pointed to a little docking area that had no connection to the road. A lone pickup truck was atop the elevated concrete road, despite no way to get there. Not even a pier.

Hexy scratched her head. "Weird. But, we've seen weirder. Why? You want to check it out"? She asked. Perplexed just as much as me to be drawn by it.

Maybe the mystery compelled me, or the utter ridiculousness of a truck being abandoned or even getting on there in the first place with no possible way to do so.

Either way I took out Frillish to sate my curiosity. "Frillish, I need you for a minute. Use Surf please". She nodded and took the both of us on top her shoulders, gliding across the water, then lifting us up top.

With low tide in effect at the moment, the concrete platfrom seemed even higher, so it was a good thing Frillish could fly too.

The three of us ventured across the road towards the truck. Upon looking close up, it still seemed to be just an abandoned truck. Opening up the driver's side, there was no keys or anything, and as far as I could tell, the thing was good on gas. Heck, it didn't even have a bit of rust on it.

Just a creepy, out of place vehicle. "Who you think just left it here? And more importantly, why"? I asked Hexy, as if she'd have the answer.

She shrugged. "No clue...wait. Hold on a minute. Look underneath". Pointing down below the truck there was a big gap.

"Huh. I wonder if there's anything interesting down there". Taking a little initiative, I crawled under the truck, sliding under. It was deep enough to go into but shallow enough to pull myself out. "Hexy, come take a look at this".

Following my lead, she was caught off guard just a much as me. "What in the Hell"?

"That's what I thought too", I replied. Before our eyes, dimly lit by the seeping in light up top, there were two things clearly visible underneath. A pink marble with gray and yellow swirls. A Mega Stone.

Reaching down, I grabbed it and identified it with my pokedex. 'Banettite. Used to Mega Evolve banette. Requires a key stone however in order to utilize'.

Looking to Hexy, she nodded and I immediately pocketed it. "This is great. Now this bracelet can be used for something". I already knew we'd need absolutely everything to beat whatever 'Suecra' truly was. He had to be leagues stronger than Eternatus, if even Cresselia and Acerola recognized him as a threat.

But before leaving, the other thing caught midst our eyes was the skeleton of a mew. The little feline had to have been there a long time. It was pretty sad really. But then again...maybe we were looking at the remains that were the DNA basis for the shiny mewtwo we killed for all we knew.

Climbing out of the pit with our ace in the literal hole, we quickly left Vermillion as there wasn't much to do on our agendas than reach Lavender Town.

Taking the marble with us of course, we set a course North, heading through another bad reminder of a place; Saffron. Grabbing a newspaper while we were there, we both took a quick read.

A sad resolution, but a fair one. Sabrina had indeed turned herself in. But was sentenced to life. She'd never get out. But not only that...the word 'execution' was mentioned. Meaning both fortunately and unfortunately, her murder crimes probably would give her a shorter sentence.

Deciding to keep it as a reminder of her, for better or worse, we kept heading north. But of course I hadn't checked my pokedex map and so days later I had screwed up royally one last time.

Missing Route 8, we ended up on 5 instead. It was a LONG one. We must've been walking it for hours and still no progress. "We're lost", Hexy said unamused. Though I couldn't blame her, this had to be at least the second time my laziness to look at the map got us in this situation.

It'd be the last, but I figured I grew up in Kanto, I should know the place like the back of my hand. But then I remembered that's like trying to remember a whole state. Hell, a whole country.

The trees were eerie, possibly due to the vicinity to Lavender Town. But something seemed, off, the moment we entered the woods on Route 5. Not just the fact it seemed to go on forever, not the fact the trees blocked out most of the sun. But it felt like we were being wacthed.

Checking my backpack for berries, I noticed they were getting a bit rotted. "Listen Hex, I'm going to go resupply some berries. I won't be long. Stay here and keep a lookout, would you"?

She acknowledged and waited for me. After about 20 minutes I returned with the fruits, only it wouldn't be a happy reunion. Hexy was crying...something she never did.

"Hexy! What happened"?! I ran over immediately. Kneeling down next to her, she looked to see me, and a face of pure anger settled in. "What"? I was confused.

"I can't believe you said all of that to me…". She looked genuinely heartbroken.

"What did I say"? I asked.

Of course no response other than, 'I knew what I said'. But, I wasn't there, I left to get berries. "Hexy, I went off to get berries, remember? If I left, then why would I come back without them"?

"You did get them. Came back here with a bunch then told me...told me I'm just a third wheel. That I was stalling on our relationship". She didn't say another word.

"I would never! You gotta believe me"! I thought about it for a moment. "Hexy, it wasn't me. It couldn't have been. It's gotta be these woods or something. After everything we've seen, it'd make the most logical sense".

"It doesn't change the fact...you were right". She responded sadly. I looked even more confused. "...You're right. I am a third wheel. I haven't contributed much. On top of that, you're right. I stalled for too long. Yeah we're doing important things but...I could've made time".

"Listen to me Hexy. Whoever or whatever said this to you, it was bullshit! You've done more than enough to help me through our journey. I probably wouldn't have gotten to this point without your help. I'd probably be still at my house wondering to myself where Ethan was. Thanks to your encouragement, we've nearly found him! And I owe it to you".

She gave a light smile and wiped her eye of tears, "Thanks Lars. But...I don't need cheering up. I just need…to compose myself. I believe you now".

"But it doesn't explain who said this to you". I brought up. "Who did"?

"He looked just like you", she answered. "Same outfit, same eye color, even the same facial structure. He was...you"?

"Okay then. Where did 'I' go"? I tried making my question very clear.

"He went that…", but before she finished there was a rustling in the bushes, followed by a terrifying image...'myself'.

Walking onto the path where we stood, he wore a confident grin. "Who the hell are you? Another ditto? We've already dealt with one of them. You'll be no different".

He gave a cocky laugh. "I'm no ditto. I'm just what you should be. Confident, collected, and a DAMN fine pokemon trainer. Just like Ethan would want after all".

"Doppelganger…", I muttered to myself. "Guess Acerola meant mine, not yours". Then we stood up, with me locking eyes with my copy. "I'm already good with my pokemon. There's no need for you"!

The doppelganger gave a smug grin in response. "How about this. A battle to settle things. You win, you'll never see or hear from me again. I win? Well, heh heh heh...guess you'll find out".

"Not so fast"! Cried Hexy. "If you're a doppelganger, then who made you"?

"Questions, questions. You know Hexy, that's the problem with you. You talk so little, but then when you talk the point is moot. So just shut up, and stay quiet, like you're used to". He insulted her.

"Okay, you're DEFINITELY not me! I'd of never said that to her, no matter how pissed. You're not a copy, you're a negative from a photograph". But regardless I accepted the challenge. "So go ahead imitator, show me what pokemon you've got".

"With pleasure". He took out a pokeball, "5 v 5. Think you've got what it takes to beat your superior version"? He then gave the most twisted grin I've ever seen, which actually disturbed me. It was so disturbing, simply do to the fact, it was like looking at myself, into a corrupted mirror.

Taking out my own pokeball, I waited for him to toss his first, while music from seemingly nowhere began playing. But at this point I suppose I should get used to it by this point, until this journey of horror ended. (Too Slow Encore FNF)

Tossing out the one who had always been with me from the start, I gave Mimikyu a go. "Come out buddy". He hopped happily and ready, though confused for a moment at seeing 'me' as the opponent. 'Kyu'! He hissed at the doppelganger.

To my surprise, he also pulled out a mimikyu, only this one was shiny, wearing a gray pikachu costume rather than muter yellow. "Mimikyu, use Shadow Claw", he commanded.

Out of the costume from underneath came the two 'arms' of the pokemon and they stretched forward to slash at my friend. "Dodge it", I ordered Mimikyu.

Hopping away quite easily due to his small size, he managed to avoid the attack, leaving just a big scrape in the ground. Then I also noticed something after the attack, part of the music was coming from him, as he was making odd noises like some kind of animal in between commands.

My turn. "Mimikyu, use Astonish". He then took in a small breath and let out a loud screech. Purple sound waves were clearly visible coming out of his fake mouth. The attack damaged his, but no flinching whatsoever.

"Weak"! He shouted, "You're too weak! Using such an ineffective attack. So tell you what, I'm going to show you what makes me special". Closing his eyes, he reopened them to show me another self disturbing sight.

Completely black eyes with faint gray pupils. But if it wasn't bad enough he followed it up with an insane laugh, "AH HA HA HA HA"! Now the so called music he was emitting started to even speed up.

"Use Shadow Sneak", he interrupted himself. The shiny cast its silhouette along the ground, revealing a black mass of its presumably true form. Slithering over, the extended claw shadows attempted to Mimikyu.

Again, another failure as he jumped away without even being ordered to do so. "Some champion you are freak! Mimikyu, use…". Before I finished my sentence, he went for another attack.

"Use Phantom Force". His mimikyu vanished in a smoke screen of blackness. Looking around, I anticipated what would happen and had Mimikyu wait in place, then tell him to dodge to be safe.

Sure enough the shiny pokemon jumped out of the blue, claws bared for another attempt at slashing. "Now Mimikyu"! My little friend hopped away back like a bunny, getting the doppelgangers' pokemon to do nothing but gets its sharp nails stuck in the dirt path.

"Alright you crook. OUR TURN. Use Will-O-Wisp"! Mimikyu obeyed without a second thought and suddenly emitted a light flame from the tip of his fake tail, which accumulated into a big fireball.

Tossing it over at the cloth wearing copy pokemon, it not only damaged it a little, but set the costume on fire. But I had a plan in motion, something this so called 'champion' didn't seem to catch onto.

"A fire attack? That won't do much numskull. You're aware of how weaknesses go at this point". The black eyed double criticized me. But criticize all he wanted, if there's one thing I learned from Hexy, it's that direct attacks aren't always the key to success.

To my plan, the opposing mimikyu was now affected by burns, taking some extra damage upon taking the hit. "Now here's something I learned as well from both you and my recent battles", I yelled to him. "Don't always wait your turn! Mimikyu, use Hex"! I looked to Hexy and winked.

Mimikyu balled his claws into fists then shot out two globs of viscous black and magenta liquid, covering the burning pokemon with it. Dumbfounded for a moment as it didn't work immediately, a moment later the shiny yelled out in pain.

Suffering an easy two hundred damage or so, that had to be a heavy hitter. As proof, my double certainly didn't look happy one bit. "Think you can beat yourself at our own game? Nah, this battle is only beginning".

Noticing how his mimikyu wasn't doing too hot, he attempted to use Giga Drain. Unlike me, much like other parts of this so called 'copy', he didn't give the command, much like some other rogues we've battled.

Lifting up its charred costume a little, out came a ball of green energy aimed for Mimikyu. But there's no way I'd let his energy get stolen by this faker and mimic. "Don't just stand there, dodge"!

Knowing better to do so even without my say so, my cute little friend again hopped back away from the attack, denying him and his own pokemon any chance of healing.

But to follow up on his failure, I didn't waste time using our turn. "Now, use Shadow Ball"! Mimikyu placed his long black claws together, inches from touching palms, and then manifested a ball of dark energy, slowly but surely.

The doppelganger smirked, and as Mimikyu tossed the orb, his did the same but in a swifter motion. The two balls collided, nullifying my attack plan. So I had to get nasty and followed it up right away. "Phantom Force"!

As I ordered such, the 'dark version' of me gave a rather creepy smile. Mimikyu vanished, but his was so weak at this point, it didn't react in time upon my friend reappearing and cut clean through the outfit's chest and its 'skin'.

The little pokemon fell down in defeat, though he didn't even bother to recall him. Rather letting the little thing lie there. "You're nothing like me! You don't just leave your friends lying there after defeat". I lectured.

He didn't have an answer, nor did he care. "Good job buddy", I pet Mimikyu on his head then recalled him. "Alright, let's see if you can take on…". I tossed out Darkrai.

Smugly, he smiled and tossed out the same. Except his was a shiny again, with green eyes, a pink collar and dark purple body. Darkrai analyzed them both.

"What's this"? He looked to me then back at them, "From what I can tell...that's no ditto. That's not even a true darkrai". He told me.

"What do you mean"? I asked in hopes he had an answer. "That darkrai is a 'fake' like with Violet's pokemon"?

"Not exactly. But it's not one of mine either. It seems to be lifelike from what I can tell, but not alive. Same with your copy". Darkrai explained as best he could.

"But where did they come from, you think"? I had to know.

"The only being I know to make such lifelike duplicates is the God of pokemon himself. Though I have no idea why he would create these malicious duplicates". He gave his thoughts.

Regardless, there was no time to waste, and I wouldn't let the doppelganger get the first hit. "Darkrai, use X-Scissor". Crossing his sharp three fingered arms together, he darted for the shiny.

Swooping in, the unflinching opposing darkrai, just stood there. But as Darkrai went to slice it in two, the dark pokemon 'sidestepped' out of the way, countering with a claw to the back of mine.

While that attempt failed, it wasn't the only try. Darkrai crossed his arms again quickly and took another swipe upon missing, cutting across the other's chest for good damage.

I expected the doppelganger to look angry, but he kept a calm look, "You're learning". He sounded impressed. "If you want to have any chance of beating anyone, you're going to have to do every unconventional trick in the book. Such as…".

Without a word, the shiny came for my dark type, using Focus Punch. Flying over with a clenched fist of red aura, the shiny darkrai went right for one of its most powerful attacks.

So I had to counter it before my friend was in danger of three hundred worth of pain. "Use Focus Punch too"! He nodded to me and emitted the same red aura around his own fist.

The two clashed together, causing a shockwave of dust and visible sound to crash throughout the sides of the impact. Both of them were sent back from the force, but since they hover, there wasn't too much recoil.

The two of them glared at each other with their permanently imposing eyes. Staring at one another like a western standoff movie. "Darkrai, go again"! The doppelganger was once again surprised at my 'learning'.

Darkrai powered up his punch again and flew over at high speed, punching the shiny straight in the jaw so hard I swear I heard a cracking sound. Sent at high velocity into a nearby tree for additional damage, it was more so trees in plural.

Breaking about a dozen as it crashed backwards, the pink collared darkrai was sent careening all the way into the woods. It almost seemed it wouldn't come back, until about half a minute later it did, covered in twigs which it proceeded to brush off.

The doppelganger motioned his head as if commanding the darkrai to perform another move, and sure enough he came back for more, even after that devastating blow. Fully intent with a glowing red palm, ready for Brick Break.

Heading for my dark type, the shiny 'leapt' up a little to be above Darkrai's head and came down with a glowing chop. To even my surprise, Darkrai deflected it by raising his own arm like a shield for his head. I never knew he was so durable.

Shoving the other one back, my black bodied friend also prepared a Brick Break in retaliation, not hesitating to slam his red aura imbued fist onto the head of the shiny.

Again, I heard a crunch, or more so a crack. Only this time, the darkrai fell, its face literally split in half. "Jesus"! I was caught off guard by Darkrai killing, but then again, he has attempted murder before, as in the city I caught him.

"Very good. That's how a trainer should be. Allow their pokemon to take initiative of their own at times. You think I'm just giving them orders all the time? I know them well enough to where I don't need to tell them, they just know". He told me confidently.

"But regardless, that's only two of three. Get ready for the next". Leaving the dead darkrai on the ground with his defeated mimikyu, out popped the next. Returning Darkrai after the win I prepared myself.

Out came a cream colored giratina with blue eyes, chest stripes and some wing spikes of the shared color. Having a gray crown and ribs now. "Impossible! There's only one Giratina". I protested at the fact.

"You forget. I am YOU, and as such I have the same pokemon. Giratina here is just a better version of yours". He practically insulted.

I took out my own, "Well if we're going toe to toe here, then I'll prove my Giratina is the real one". I tossed him out, and even he was displeased at the sight.

"Who would these imitations be? Lesser copies of the real thing"? He looked to me with his piercing red eyes then back to them. "This will not stand. I care not where you both come from, but neither of you should be allowed to exist". He convicted.

There was no time to waste. "Shadow Sneak, Giratina". He responded to my words, as he had been with our mutual trust. Casting and extending his large centipede shaped silhouette along the sun drenched ground, its spiky wings sliced up the impostor.

Dissipating after the attack and returning to its owner, the doppelganger shook his head. "Again with the weaker moves. Step it up"!

He then motioned for his blue giratina to perform Shadow Force. Disappearing completely in a haze of black smoke, the big dragon centipede came out of thin air a few moments later to stab its sharp side rib claws into Giratina.

This dealt a serious blow, but he still tossed off the attacker with his struggling and large black wings. He wasn't the renegade pokemon for nothing. He wouldn't be done in by a single blow, especially from an inferior impostor.

"Giratina, use Shadow Claw". His six yellow 'ribs' spread out from lengthy body and faced forward. Sprinting on his multiple legs, he impaled the blue faker with them for big damage.

Screeching out from the pain, Giratina then lifted it up with his immense strength and tossed the brightly colored pokemon into a large boulder lying on the side of the path for extra pain.

The blue giratina composed itself, standing up and seeming to be rather unfazed by the attack, despite obviously taking the blow still. Again, the doppelganger said nothing, letting the creature takes its turn of its own will.

Its ribs began to glow bright blue, extending out while running at Giratina like some kind of supersized buffalo. Being as big as he was, dodging wouldn't be easy.

Though as the impostor was the same girth, the two were slow enough to give him a chance to avoid it.

Trying to pierce Giratina with the sharp tips to no avail, my friend showed his determination to not allow that to happen. Headbutting the imitation renegade away after the failed attempt to attack him.

Taking a page from, 'myself', I looked to Giratina and made a blowing gesture. Confused for a moment, he seemed to get it, and used Dragon Breath.

Without even needing to inhale, he exhaled a huge stream of black and sapphire flames. Scorching the big sky blue centipede dragon copy, it did a great amount of damage, as well as did what I had hoped for. Paralyzed it. Leaving it open for the next attack.

This time I voiced it, "Now use Hex". Giratina then shot out a few black pulsating rings from the yellow crown of his head. Hitting the imitator literally head on, the damage between both weakness type moves was staggering.

Flinching from all the injuries now, it looks like it'd need just one more blow. So I decided to get greedy and not even let it recover. "Giratina, Shadow Force".

Disappearing just as the faker had, he was nowhere to be seen, even in the daylight. Recovering from the paralysis would do nothing for this opponent.

Reappearing armed with his rib claws once again, Giratina went for the finishing blow. Latching onto and breaking the skin to the point of blood on the other giratina, my Giratina then started to flap his wings next.

Lifting the bleeding enemy into the air like a sky crane, he released him like literal dead weight upon gaining suitable altitude. The blue centipede dragon fell to the ground with a huge dust cloud impact. Lying dead and broken now. Its neck and body bent and bruised.

The doppelganger seemed impressed. "Now you're thinking ruthlessly. That's what you'll need to survive. But unfortunately, you wont be leaving this encounter no matter the outcome".

With two pokemon left, I let Giratina back inside and reached my hand into my bag, ready for whatever he chose next. Out came another pokemon who was supposed to be the only one of his kind. Yveltal.

This one was also a presumed 'shiny', with dark red for its and extremely bright white for it's three 'hands'. Even its horns were bright white as well.

I took out the one and only. I figured, why stop the matching now. Though I did realize a connection. He was taking out my strongest pokemon to use as his own. Meaning, if my assumption was correct, I knw who he'd use for the last already.

Releasing Yveltal, he screeched at the imitation in anger. Not that I could blame my dragon bird friend. This'd be more evenly matched of a battle though, considering Yveltal's only weakness to himself was one rock type move.

Speaking of such, I had a feeling he'd go for it, and he did just as such. The doppelganger non verbally ordered his copy to use Rock Slide.

Using its talons to scrape up the ground for large boulders, the red and white yveltal then used its tail 'hand' to start flinging the collective rocks towards my pokemon.

Without even my say, Yveltal dodged by launching up with his wings in a gust of wind. I knew at this point to I might as well choose a flying move for him to use.

"Use Tailwind and then Air Slash"! Squawking loudly, the true 'destruction pokemon' flapped his wings aggressively to create a burst of wind around himself.

Increasing his speed from said move, he followed up by darting downwards towards the white and crimson bird, baring his talons with a light glow.

Swooping at such a speed, the other had no time to react and was clutched within the sharpened feet. Lifting up the screeching bird, it was carried off then brought back down again into the ground with a crash.

The doppelganger was sounding more and more like some kind of twisted teacher. If I wanted to progress any further in finding Ethan with whatever comes after him, I'd need more than just one move a turn. I had to be as equally aggressive as my opponents. Not let up anymore.

His yveltal picked itself up with an injured cry then shook it off like a wet dog. It'd take more than one blow to defeat this thing. Landing in front of me softly, Yveltal readied himself for his opponents' move.

The doppelganger pointed in our direction, without command, as he had been. His crimson and white bird lurched back its lengthy neck and out came a huge energy beam without even a charge. A Hyper Beam.

But with Yveltal's speed being faster now, he simply leapt out of the way in a sidestep without even taking off. But after missing miserably, this was good for us. A guaranteed turn while it rested up.

I 'flapped' my arms as a hint for what for Yveltal to do. Nodding in acknowledgment, he took one huge movement with his wings and went airborne for Sky Attack. Circling around in the sky like a dark type vulture, he made his rounds to charge up. And with that free turn, he had enough time.

Once his wings were glowing with a full amount of bluish white energy, he swept down, talons spread and sinking them right into the yveltal's chest.

But that wasn't going to cut it. I had to get aggressive. MAJORLY aggressive. I made a little cyclone movement with my pointer finger. He knew exactly what to do.

Using Hurricane, Yveltal used his extra speed boost to make multiple 360 rings around the impostor bird. Working from the ground up to create a black twister which began to pull even the dragon from its position.

Finally, I took my hands made a gesture like I was making a snowball, or an orb in my palms. I never thought Yveltal was dumb, but he was a lot more intelligent than I thought for a supposed savage being.

While the crimson white bird was sucked up inside the 'bird made' tornado, Yveltal took in a deep breath and went for a third move; Focus Blast.

Charging up inside his mouth with a pretty bluish white energy, out came a huge projectile with pinpoint accuracy towards the sucked up opposition.

The direct hit did massive damage alone, and combined with the Sky Attack and imminent damage from the Hurricane. This fight should be over soon.

Once the not so natural disaster took its course and dissipated, the bird had no time to react and flap fast enough to prevent the fall. Crashing down like a sack of bricks, the dark type was on its last legs.

The doppelganger then began clapping. "Excellent display. Near perfect in fact. However, there's one move left I'm sure you know hasn't been accounted for".

I knew exactly what, 'I', was talking about. "Oh, I think I do". Yveltal"! Reacting with his swift speed to save me and Hexy from the move as well as himself, he scooped us up in both talons and got us out of the way just in time.

With it's crimson wings opened up and glowing red, the huge radius of the attack was just barely too slow. On top of that, even though it missed us, it hit the unconscious copy pokemon and dead ones.

"Yveltal, circle back round. Your turn"! Having no qualms at doing so, he dropped us off and out of the way, before spreading his magnificent wings and doing the same.

The doppelganger was smart enough to get the hell out of the way, but his own yveltal wasn't fast enough. With an equally, if not brighter red glow, my dark type shined the rays upon it.

Swiftly and surely the copy began to petrify before our eyes, letting out one final defiant screech as the remaining life left in it was transferred back into Yveltal to heal him.

At this point, the Doppelganger was no longer in a good mood, and sure enough he just let the newly created statue stay where it lie. "Enough"!

Tossing out his final pokeball for the battle, he wore a grimace a mile long. Of course, out came what should've been impossible. ANOTHER MissingNo. The normally white computer chip was pure black with red circuitry.

Returning Yveltal to the safety of the pokeball, I tossed out my MissingNo, who beeped in surprise and anger at the sight of another of its 'kind'.

Then the Doppelganger gave an evil smile, threatening the two of us in a voice that didn't even sound like mine, as the 'ambient music' sped up. "I'M GONNA GET YOU! I AM...GOD"!

"HA HA HA HA HAAAAA"! A bunch of black liquid and long, stringy tendrils poured outwards, latching onto my arm, along with fingers and organs, like multiple hearts, seen coming out of his black hole of a mouth.

MissingNo then turned into its yellow form on a whim and touched the tendrils holding my arm, sending an electric shock through and into the Doppelganger.

"AAAAAAHHHH…"! The faker screamed, retracting the demonic looking appendages he had in lieu of a tongue presumably. This guy was definitely NOT me, if I had any doubts prior.

His black computer chip then transformed into an equally black kabutops skeleton. So I ordered mine to do the same. Turning into a kabutops, the Doppelganger was already making his move first.

I made the first move before he had the chance, taking some dirt on off the ground then tossing it as a hint. MissingNo performed Sand Attack, using itS claws to rip up and fling some dust up into thew black ones eye sockets.

Despite having no actual eyes, it still seemed to work as a distraction at least, allowing for the next move. Then, I scooped up some more dirt and flung it like a tiny ball.

Understanding, Kabutops used its mouth cavity to spit some water onto a patch of soil, dampening it enough into mud. Then using its scythe claw to scoop up a little, the big bug tosses it into the face of the other skeletal insect. Somehow causing damage, but also slowing it down.

Again, as if he had a telepathic link to his pokemon imitators, the doppelganger simply pointed out at MissingNo and the it knew exactly what to do.

Using its scythe claws to burrow into the ground and use Dig, it didn't even take but a minute for it to burst out of the ground and cut its sharp 'hands' into MissingNo's rib cage.

After the initial popping out attack, then it went for a Brick Break, using a red glow empowered arm to swipe directly into MissingNo's skull. Dealing hefty damage between the two, it was slightly unfortunate for the black kabutops to get its blade stuck in the bone.

Angered, MissingNo literally cut it out by jabbing its arm scythe into the other's skull then forcibly ripping its own out of the forehead.

Seeing as I couldn't really charade my next move without giving it away anyways, I shouted out, "Use Low Kick".

Kabutops ran up to the imitation black pile of bones and sweep kicked with its clawed feet, tripping it up. Dealing over a hundred damage in weakness, the opponent fell over with a thud.

Funny how such a basic move could deal such a blow. But, I couldn't stop at one move. "Now, use Rock Smash".

Raising its claws above it head, Kabutops impales the downed foe with dual scythes, dealing another decent chunk of damage, and making the black pile of bones already noticeably scraped.

Knocking away MissingNo, the blackened skeleton rose to its feet and without even consulting the doppelganger, used Superpower.

Running over with its two glowing red arms like a crazed animal, the bony arthropod took a leapt and attempted to in turn impale my kabutops with the ultra damaging move.

But of course, it was a simple as a sidestep regardless of the power behind it. MissingNo did just that, negating the attempt at an easy gain for damage. Something these inferior copy of mine clearly needed to learn, which I had, is to always use something you know is certain to work.

It seemed to infuriate him further in fact. But had he decided a status move would suffice, he'd of understood well enough that what he just did screwed over his kabutops in the end.

With it's attack and defense lowered a little, at least in this form, it was time to reap the benefits of his mistake. But, I was out of its weakness moves, so it was time to make due.

I had to conjure up a finishing flurry to get this form out of my way. "Use, Ancient Power, then Night Slash, and finally Rock Slide. Now"!

MissingNo beeped and raised its claws above its head again, charging for the other with a ready cut.

Cutting into and through the ribs, the claws then turned black with dark aura, to then pull out of the ribs, shattering them on the way out. Finally, MissingNo started cutting up the ground to retrieve a large boulder, which it then proceeded to slam onto the skull of the opponent.

Hit with a barrage of attacks, shattering most of the remains that make up the kabutops, it finally fell. Literally falling to pieces at the defeat.

The doppelganger stamped his foot, before snapping his fingers, like a signal. The disassembled black skeleton shifted into another black skeleton of an aerodactyl this time.

Of course meaning, it was time for me to follow suit. "MissingNo, you know what to do next". Turning back into its computer chip form, the bones changed into the flying type.

I wasted no time just like before. But now I just wanted this over with, so I resumed voicing my commands if I had to. "Quickly, Ancient Power, Rock Slide then Stone Edge".

Using its bony wings to somehow take flight, Aerodactyl imbued itself with a brownish aura and performed a wide barrel roll straight into the other aerodactyl.

The sound of bones clattering together due to impact, was a good sign it hit. Then since I already gave the command, MissingNo shrugged off the recoil and went for the next blow.

Letting out an intimidating roar, it pierced our ears a little as the ground shook. From the nearby hills, a few boulders began to roll down at high speeds.

Running from the close up position on its talons, the disoriented opponent was left with the impact of the incoming boulders, slamming into its thick prehistoric skull and breaking a few ribs.

Finally, from a distance, Aerodactyl stamped the ground hard, cracking it a little a causing the earth to below us to quake again. Out of the surrounding sides of the dirt came three large stone pillars from either side.

Piercing through the black skeleton's jaw came one of the sharp, rocky daggers. With two more impaling it through the chest and ribs, breaking some more ligaments and other bones.

Trying to flap away, it failed and as such instead used all its strength to break free of the painful trap. With rock still sticking through its jaw, the creature didn't seem to care.

Shaking a little from all the critical hits just inflicted, the imitation reared up its pelican like thick skull and ran towards MissingNo with Iron Head. The gray glow was as much indication as any. "Dodge"! I yelled.

Sidestepping out of the way of the potential blow, it was a miss. But of course there'd be more than just one move at the ready.

Using Steel Wing, the injured pokemon fossil faker lifted up its bony wings then took to the air, skeletal wings glowing same as its head prior.

Once its wings were fully engulfed in the light it spread them out fully and came barreling towards us. As the creature landed with a brisk impact, Aerodactyl took off into the air to get away.

With the other aerodactyl now on ground level, this was the perfect opportunity to finish it off quickly. "Use Rock Tomb, then Rock Blast"! I instructed.

After taking flight once again, to activate the move, MissingNo crashed to the earth like a meteor and from its crater, out came another round of impactful rocks which encased the other swiftly.

Crushing the bones and trapping it in place, MissingNo then finished it off with Rock Blast. With its massive jaws, it dug its teeth into the ground and scooped up a huge chunk of boulders and other assorted stones, spitting them out back at the opponent.

With a loud shriek, the black skeleton too collapsed like its kabutops form before, leaving the doppelganger with a look of stigma. The look in his black eyes and soulless gaze of his gray pupils was one of pure anger.

With a snap of his fingers, the black pile of crunched bones transformed again, now into the ghost. So of course with no change I followed. "Turn into the ghost form now MissingNo".

Both of our pokemon turned into the specter with four fingered affixed hands slanted down to the ground, two pure white vacant eyes, tail body and of course the permanently smiling, devilish white featureless smile. The only key difference being his was inverted. A white spirit with black eyes and smile, even having the gray pupils like him.

'Better strike first', I thought to myself. "Use Sucker Punch, Dark Pulse then Shadow Ball"!

Nodding with its twisted smile, my Ghost's left hand glowed with purplish brown aura, then hovered over in a flash to sock the other ectoplasmic fiend.

Using its equal speed to move out of the way, the other ghost gave a manic laugh of pure insanity and evil. I had to admit it was unsettling but far from scary given what I'd heard and seen.

The next move he couldn't avoid. MissingNo's whole body began to emit the same glow and out of the apparition came a series of black pulsating rings headed from the other one.

Letting out a pained wail, the rings did their job in hurting the imitator, hurting it good. Now was time for the Shadow Ball.

Lifting up its usually firmly stiff hands, the Ghost cusped its palms together and created the large orb of dark matter and violet coloration. Tossing it like a baseball at the white one.

Being quick enough with the follow up attack, MissingNo landed the hit with the literal fastball and struck another critical on the enemy. The other ghost simply laughed it off though, even despite being hurt good.

After taking its punishment like nothing, the ghost used Astonish. Letting out an ear bleedingly loud scream, me and Hexy covered our ears in relative pain.

MissingNo was blown back and injured by it. The powerful voice more than enough to disorient my Ghost for a moment. Opting just in case I went to hand my pokemon an Oran berry as the damage wasn't too bad.

Following up on this though the other used Thief and vanished, reappearing right in its face with a claw in place of its hand, slashing MissingNo in the face then swiping the berry, which it then swallowed to gain health back. Fortunately it was only an Oran berry.

I was quick on my feet, "Use Payback on that son of a bitch"! My Ghost's white mouthed smile turned to an angry frown as it too disappeared then in the blink of an eye manifested in front of the opposer's face.

Both of its hand were now sharp claws as it took a swing of revenge at the unprepared faker, cutting its face to match. "Now, use Shadow Claw too".

Immediately following up with the other move, the color of the claws simply shift from black aura to purple, the Ghost again using its knife like nails to scrape the pale spirit.

After being injured pretty good, the white ghost despite its loss so far gives another crazy laugh identical to the one uttered by the doppelganger. Then its hand glow pink.

With a wave of its close together hands, it uses Psychic, lifting MissingNo from its floating position and slamming it into the ground. Which confused me as ghosts from lore are supposed to be intangible, but whatever. Maybe it was a fluke for MissingNo's specific form.

Either way my computer chip companion took a good blow from the impact from the weakness move. But either not caring same as the white ghost, mine just readjusted back to hovering.

"Grrr, that all you got"?! I taunted the doppelganger, just about fed up with his crap. He was going to drag this out as long as he could just to try and win. I could feel it, given he had used three of five of MissingNo's forms.

But unlike him I was keen on ending this already. "Ghost. Use Psychic yourself then go to town with the Shadow Balls. Hell, add Dark Pulse again".

Following its orders, MissingNo's claws form back to hands and they glow with pink energy. Too much of it could be dangerous after all. SO in this case that was very true.

Snatching up the other ghost with the telekinetic power, MissingNo savagely began to slam it harshly to the ground as it had just been, except more than once.

After letting the other haunter type spirit reorient itself, no time was wasted on the finishing blows from Ghost. Its black body glowed even darker with more jet black rings emitting from its body.

As the rings begin to pulse and injure the other one, MissingNo gets relentless with the Shadow Balls, chucking them like a crazed pitcher. I guess my computer chip 'pokemon' could feel anger.

Whatever energy balls did miss, about a dozen hit until the other white spectral being was gooey pulp. Much to the doppelgangers' chagrin.

"You're almost out of options now. Give up"! I taunted the fiend knowing he had only two forms left. On top of that all he had left were two forms.

His face twisted with rage as he let out a demonic roar. "Electric form! NOW"! He actually vocally ordered his pokemon.

As ordered, the former puddle of goop turned into a pixelated, but bulky computer chip with a red color instead of yellow. I followed thereafter, transforming mine into the same electric type.

Getting greedy in my rushing at this point I opted for four moves in quick succession. "MissingNo! Nasty Plot, Tail Whip, Growl, then Quick Attack"!

Using its already accumulated rage and penting it up inside its CPU, a black glow encompassed the electronic pokemon, before adding some more status moves.

With Tail Whip, out of the circuit lined, chunky, yellow body came what looked to be a pikcahu tail only pixelated and glitchy like you'd see in an old video game.

Slapping the other chip with it, of course it wasn't a miss due to being a big target, and as such the counterfeit computer chips' defense lowered a little.

After that, a distorted roar came out of MissingNo, despite it having no mouth nor even a face. It was loud and sounded like the mix between a gyrados and a aggron. But, like an old 90s game sound effect too. My pokemon must've been pretty old, though not as much as Giratina or Darkrai.

After the piercing Growl lowered the opponent's attack power a little, despite it having no ears, finally MissingNo went in for a physical attack.

Floating over at the speed of a bulldozer due to bulk, the other really couldn't escape the slowly coming 'Quick' Attack. Out of its body came a white claw which looked like a haphazard electrical tree branch.

Hitting the red chip with it, more damage was fortunately received due to the lowered stat. But this didn't sit well with it or its master.

Pointing at us vindictively, the doppelganger ordered the other chip to use its moves. First up was an equal tail protruding from its body just as MissingNo's but red of course.

Lifting up the bloody red, crimson binary code of a tail as high as possible, it then crashed it down with a Slam. "Dodge"! I yelled, but unfortunately one thing about this electric form is that it seemed to be too slow unlike its normal form.

Taking the blow without much resistance, the good news was that the attack had been lowered a little by it. The bad news is obviously one move wouldn't suffice for the opponent so I decided to boost up.

"MissingNo, Reflect". A yellowish orange shield of light energy in a box form surrounded the computer chip. It was a good thing too, as the imitation was about to pull a couple very damaging physical attacks.

Out of the red body came a long black appendage, like MissingNo had used for its Quick Attack. Pulling it back into a fist and throwing it forward, the hand slammed right into the shield, dispelling a good chunk of damage.

The shield itself cracked a little bit, but with the next coming move it wouldn't last longer. After the Mega Punch Came a Mega Kick as the blood hungry red chip formed a long pikachu shaped foot from its body.

Connected by bits of cords dripping in black goo, the huge foot came out like a jack-in-the-box towards the Reflect again. Like the last move, it took a huge bulk of the damage but on the downside it broke in the process. Shattering into pieces of fragmented energy and light.

In this form, even MissingNo couldn't be too powerful, so I had to make the next moves count. So another four were in order. This HAD to bring the other down to its last form, I thought.

"Brick Break, Body Slam, Swift and Round. Go, go, go"! I shouted, losing just as much patience as the doppelganger seemed to be. We were both growing tired of this prolonging.

Taking out its electrical white claw of pure energy again, MissingNo outstretched and with a karate chop like movement, smacked the red chip right on top of its L shaped tip, breaking off a piece even.

Next came the Body Slam, doing just as the name implied. Using up its slow but probably durable bulk, the yellow chip hovered over a little faster, bashing into the other chip like a sumo with its own girth.

The two hits went as expected, but Swift would be the odd one out. I needed it to work as it was a special, but no telling if it would due to both the pokemon's speeds.

Floating at its top speed, that of a running human at least, MissingNo again body slammed into the other, but this time more so tackling it, by bringing out two electrical 'arms' out of its body.

Gripping the sides of the other faceless pokemon, the two collided with less a thud, and more a general impact. But regardless of the outcome, another strike of damage was dealt.

By this time, the opposing jumble of circuitry wasn't looking too good; sparking even. Now was our chance.

With a familiar tune coming out of MissingNo, I recalled it being the exact same music I had heard while fighting it when I first encountered the pokemon. Using said song for its Round move, the audio seemed to physically hurt the other in this case.

As my electrical companion emitted the killer music, it seemed to temporarily block out the doppelganger's own, as it created soundwaves that started breaking the red chip to pieces.

Falling apart like glass, that form was now out of commission. Another victory, but not the end. "Last chance", I called out to the doppelganger, "Walk away"!

Of course that wouldn't work, as he was prepared to push his pokemon to the limit. Without so much as a word, his transformed into its true form. But this time we were the one's too slow.

Using Razor Wind, I barely had time to change MissingNo into it's own true form. With the opposite chip being pure black, out came a scythe looking claw in this case rather than a hand.

It seemed nothing happened, but I knew better. That sharp wind it just slashed in front of us would come back. But for the present, it went right for another couple moves.

At this point, the music the doppelganger seemed to be 'singing' sped up intensely, him and his own chip becoming reckless. Such as him using Take Down next.

In a distorting fashion, the black chip teleported all over randomly before appearing right in front of MissingNo, shooting out tendrils of the same color and both impaling and slamming it to the ground.

But in turn the effort required injured the black chip as well. Using Double Edge next, the two tendrils shaped into two scythes like the one before, cutting in deep into MissingNo's exposed circuits.

But as a consequence, the black chip was injured stupidly, when its own blades recoiled back into itself for a little self inflicted, accidental damage.

As it was now our turn, or so I thought, the sharp winds from early resurfaced and like a brick wall, came crashing into MissingNo for a decent amount of additional injuries.

"Too SLOW"! Said the doppelganger before we could even make a move, with his chip using Submission. Forming the dripping black claws from before, both of them gripped onto MissingNo.

At this point, it seemed my copy either didn't take into account the recoil damage or simply didn't care about the well being of his own pokemon anymore and this was a last ditch effort.

Using its hovering abilities, the black chip scooped up MissingNo, taking it up then performing a pile driver of sorts. The damage being rather effective with weakness, but also a fail as the impact injured the opponent in the process by a quarter, which was also its weakness. So in the end that was a bad move.

But now it really was my turn, and I'd make sure the doppleganger didn't get another. Choosing wisely, I knew exactly what we needed, as I knew the true weakness of MissingNo having fought it before, so therefore it should work on this imitation.

"Use Water Gun, Bubble Beam, Ice Beam and Blizzard"! This'd fix them both. Ironically using the water moves itself, my technological friend 'spat' out a stream of pressurized water from seemingly nowhere, hitting the other 'head' on.

With a little sparking, it obviously worked. Next came the equally from nowhere array of bubbles. Jutting out its electrical claw once again, it cusped the hand into a circle shape, spitting out what looked like Water Gun again.

As the water stream hit through the hole, it converted into a swarm of dangerous bubbles, which popped and burst into water upon impact of the black chip.

Further sparking occurred as well as the imminent damage following it. It was working. Now came the ice moves, which was just frozen water.

Again coming from nowhere but its enigmatic body, a blast of ice came shooting out and at the other like a freeze ray. The computer chip twitched and sparked badly now. It was only a matter of time.

Starting to teleport around in a vain attempt to evade the next move, it wouldn't work as the last would be 'area of effect'.

Then came the Blizzard. Facing straight up in its floating position, out from its body came the Ice Beam, only this time it split up into the atmosphere, creating a temporary haze of pure white snow and sleet.

As the weather shifted and the cold damaged the opposing chip's circuits, the storm didn't seem to damage the user, that being MissingNo, and all it did to us was make me and Hexy shiver.

As it dissipated, the result was now that the copy was completely frozen solid, out of commission for good. Especially as MissingNo used Distort.

Momentarily causing the sky to bleed red and the ground to become black, my hands went pixelated again as it absorbed the remaining life left inside the frozen 'corpse' to heal its damage.

As a final insult to the injuries, I picked up a nearby rock and hurled it at the frozen adversary, causing it to shatter into a mix of icy frost and smashed pieces of electronics.

The song then cut as the doppelganger let out an agonizing growl, "ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR"!

Gripping his head suddenly, we couldn't see his face behind his palms, "GRRRR….", he growled again a little lightly, his skin completely blackening before our eyes.

As he removed his hands from his face, there was no longer even a face, nor any features. He was more like a solid silhouette now. "We won! Now leave"!

Saying nothing, all he did was pull out another pokeball. But not so much a Dark Ball either, it being pure black like the rest of him. Then as he threw it, out came an umbreon, at least in shape. Because I could only assume due to it being a silhouette just like its master.

I figured I'd entertain him, feeling as if I knew what his plan was. Remaining versions of mine but...like that. As an indicator, even the music he was singing changed. (Uncertain Demise FNF Trepidation 1.5)

Tossing out Umbreon, I accepted a little challenge. Since I had beaten all his copies with the real thing, I thought to myself that it'd prove my worth as a trainer to beat the exact same type of pokemon with the friends I had.

But just as I prepared to make a move, he tossed out another, reaching for his pocket and pulling out another pokeball. This time out came a frillish, looking just as much like a pure shadow as the umbreon.

"Dig, Facade, and Weather Ball", I pointed to Umbreon. "Frillish! Night Shade, Shadow Ball and Safeguard just in case". Both my friends nodded, though Frillish blew me a kiss too. Making me a tad bit red.

My little cat rabbit started to burrow into the ground right away, using his front paws to go underground, popping up right in front of the shadow version and claw it.

Then with his agile build, Umbreon's yellow rings flashed brightly like a flash bang, before jumping out at the target with another blow to the silhouettes' face with his sharpened claws.

Finally, opening up his little fanged mouth he charged up a white energy ball. Spitting the projectile out at the foe, the shadow barely moved, not seeming to be as caring as the last pokemon we had just fought. Maybe these 'shadow' versions were like Violet's in that case.

Either way, the damage was struck and Frillish then raised her pinks arm tentacles to cast a ghostly spell, said arms glowing dark purple.

The other frillish began to glow the same color all around its body, as something unseen attacked, presumably 'her'.

Next came the Shadow Ball, with Frillish placing her tentacles together then slowly pulling them apart to create the similarly colored ball of dark matter, chucking it at the bad copy.

The orb hit directly into the rather seemingly mindless fake, which was of course a benefit to us. Lastly, she then raised her arms all the way up, waving them in a circular pattern around herself, then pointing over to Umbreon, granting him the same blue shield to prevent any nasty status conditions.

His shadow umbreon suddenly sprang to life, using Cut by leaping at my cat friend. With claws out, the two struggled and rolled around in the dirt until the shadow bit his long ear for damage.

In my anger I punted the thing away, but it just came back, with Giga Impact ready, it's body glowing with bright energy. "Dodge it"! I warned Umbreon.

Pouncing at him, Umbreon was fast enough to roll out of the way and avoid all damage. But something was different about this copy. Because instead of needing a breather after such an attack, it went right for Hyper Beam.

Out of it's not visible 'mouth' came a spark of light. "Umbreon! Go"! Again, he ran for it as the large laser like energy beam emitted like lightning, running in full sprint.

After the double fail, it came time for the frillish shadow to strike. The ghost jellyfish shoved her arm inside of her own black body, and pulled out an exact duplicate of black goop. A Substitute.

Then once the creation was made as more or less a body double, she used Psychic. With the black arm tentacles glowing bright pink, she snagged Frillish then twirled the arm around before slamming it down and causing her to impact the ground.

When it wore off, my jellyfish lifted herself up, spitting out the bits of dirt and grimacing at the threat. To my surprise though the dark frillish only used those two moves. Maybe the doppelganger was running out of steam, or his copy was already running out of juice.

But I'd lost my patience, and was just ready to get rid of these pale imitations. "Umbreon, use Flash then Iron Tail". He looked to me with his red eyes and then lit up his multiple yellow rings.

A large blinding light emitted from him, temporarily robbing both the umbreon and frillish of sight. With the disorientation from the light, both shadow pokemon lose some of their ability to hit straight as well as seem to take light damage due to their nature..

After that opening, Umbreon ran over to the both of them and swung his gray glowing tail around in a 360 motion, whipping both silhouetted beings for damage, though it hardly effected the dark jellyfish duo.

The rather weak shadow cat collapses, then before our eyes it dissipates into nothingness. The black mass that was a 'pokemon', vanishing. One down.

I recalled Umbreon then and there, leaving just the two marine pokemon to fight it out. But with the substitute dummy, it'd be a bit of a hassle to finish 'her' off.

"Use Giga Drain then Dark Pulse on the substitute". Frillish nodded her pink bulbous head then shot out two beams of green light from her tentacles and at the carbon copy.

Draining the duplicate, she didn't get health back since it wasn't alive, but it did cause severe damage to it. Then after the beam ended, she kept them raised, shooting out the black pulsing rings from her suction cups.

The rings hit for additional damage, and just like that the substitute melted into a black goop onto the gravel. Leaving the 'real' rival to be fought. Though it was its turn.

The now exposed shadow used Night Shade, its black tentacles turning violet and just like with any other time, Frillish was pretty much defenseless from it, as it was more or less an invisible force even she couldn't see.

Then facing its left suction cup palm upwards, a Shadow Ball formed, which it then proceeded to lob our way. But unlike the last move, that one was easily avoided with Frillish's lovely agileness.

"Enough of this! Frillish; Psychic, then a Shadow Ball and Energy Ball together. That'll fix 'er". Seeming just as eager as me, she used Psychic herself this time, with her magenta arms glowing a near identical color.

Surrounding the black shadow in the same colored aura, she lifted it up then like a rag doll started slamming it to the ground repeatedly, before flinging it away without a care.

As it recovered, the blackened jellyfish knew what was coming, or should've had it a brain of any kind. Though it couldn't really do anything to stop said incoming attacks.

Without a moment of waiting, she imitated the shadow of herself and faced both suction cups upwards, generating both balls of energy in each palm.

Once made, she tossed them in unison at the rather unprepared copy. In an explosion of both light and dark from the impact, when the blast cleared, there was nothing remaining of the now literal ghost jelly.

Looking to the doppelganger, I couldn't see an expression from his now featureless face, but instead gave a kind of unsettling reaction, as if he didn't really take this seriously. "AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAA"!

He let out a deep and rather evil laugh, though the menacing part was that his 'mouth' actually opened up, wider than a humans and full of serrated rows of teeth.

After that, he quickly went back to being blank and tossed out two more shadow figures; a Mismgaius and a Gourgeist. So in turn I brought of Maggie and Gourgeist.

This time I was quicker, getting the girls to attack their dark counterparts first. "Girls no time to explain. I need you both to attack your 'outlines'. The evil 'shadows'.

Trusting me, they didn't hesitate to accept. "Maggie use Shadow Ball, Astonish then Phantom Force". I turn to my pumpkin girl, "Use Sunny Day, Will-O-Wisp then Mystical Fire".

Gourgeist gave a thumbs up with her bulky stem arm and the two went to work on the rather uncaring copies. Maggie formed the orb in the tip of one of her robe arms and tossed it point blank into the target.

A direct hit. Hovering over swiftly, using her other arm which started glowing the same color as her, she swung at the things face, or lack thereof. Showing little to no reaction but taking the damage regardless, Maggie then vanished.

While she was away, Gourgeist closed her eyes and smiled, raising her arms up towards the sky, making the sun shine directly on all of us. Following that up she spat out a ball of fire from her real mouth.

Smoldering the shadow a bit, my pretty gourd girl then took in a big breath and released a stream of far reaching flames from her glowing jack-o-lantern body, singing the pokemon further. Not that it seemed to gain scorch marks.

Once that was taken care of, Maggie reappeared from behind the imitation and again swiped at the shadow with her rather surprisingly strong robe arms.

Retreating back to me, the girls readied for whatever the copies would do next. Maggie's copy was pretty nasty as it used Payback almost immediately.

Its already charcoal colored skin glowed black as it rushed towards Maggie, arms outstretched. "Maggie, move"! As such she did, with not much of that said payback being taken.

Once the move failed, the frail shadow tried tossing a Shadow Ball next off the tip of its arm. Without even my say so, my lovely mismagius drifted out of the way without a hitch.

But of course the shadow witch got the last laugh as 'she' then used Perish Song. Singing the dreaded tune, it filled all of our ears minus the doppelganger and his gourgeist. But of course this meant we would need to kill it in 3 turns or less.

But not counting as of yet, it was now her partner's turn. Using Psychic right away, the large arms of the black being became bright pink. Picking up the my already flying pokemon, it mimicked crushing something in its hand, translating to crushing Gourgeist a little.

Though she took damage from it of course, all she did was laugh due to her masochism. After the shadow had squeezed some of the life from her, it stretched out its arm in an attempt at Brutal Swing.

Despite her being a plump living pumpkin, Gourgeist dashed back to avoid its reach. Only feeling the air swoosh in front of her long necked face. Finally it used Mystical Fire.

Hearing a crackling sound coming from its palm, a big fireball formed within, which it then lobbed towards Gourgeist. Knowing Sunny Day would be both a help but also a hindrance with the shadow reaping the rewards too, I knew we couldn't let that fireball hit.

"Move, now"! I yelled. I didn't really need to tell her though as it was common sense, as she even glanced me a funny look before dodging. My hovering gourd simply waited for it to get near before showing off a little and moving out of the way at the last second.

This shadow couldn't be any stronger than that umbreon though so I figured a few moves despite the Perish Song in the works, would obliterate it. "Maggie, use Extrasensory, Power Gem then Shadow Ball".

On a mission, my little witch reached out her robe arms then started making a circular motion in front of herself. Then with a light push of the pink aura like a wall, it flew forward and crashed right into the copy.

After that, the three red stones on her chest started glowing blue, shooting out a few lasers, which connected to each other to combine into a larger beam.

The beam blasted right into the shadow, hurting it severely due to both the light and power behind it. It even let out a little screech from it. But then it was time for the final nail in its coffin.

Maggie touched the tips of her 'hands' together like electrical wires, generating the dark energy orb. Once big enough she let it go and it simply sped up and was sent straight for the black entity.

The moment it made contact, the projectile shattered her like glass; more so, a mirror in a way. But either way that copy was dead now. Good riddance.

I gave Maggie a hug before returning her to her Dark Ball, "Nice work Mags". Then it was time to turn our attention onto the imitation gourd.

Incinerating it seemed like the best course of action to take it down nice and quickly due to the fire boost. "Gourgeist, use Dark Pulse, Fire Blast then Flamethrower again".

'Gour', she acknowledges. Clearing her throat, she spits out the black rings rather than shooting them from her hands this time. The ovular objects knock into the shadow, injuring it pretty well.

In a nice bit of change, Gourgeist then started blowing a stream of fire out of both her jack-o-lantern body and her real mouth, using Flamethrower to scorch the already blackened opponent.

The shadow at this point wasn't looking good at all. Meaning Fire Blast would finish it off. My purple gourd girl's pumpkin mouth and the pumpkin itself then began to glow bright orange from all the heat it was creating.

As it looked like her pumpkin body was ready to explode in a burst of flames, the buildup came out through the mouth in the form of a kanji symbol like before. The symbol of pure fire absolutely decimated the shadow creature.

Burning up in smoke, the entity was no more. At this point, I looked to my pale imitation and again, no expression despite his major loss. By my knowledge of how many pokemon I had, all he had left was Banette.

Regardless as I returned Gourgeist, instead of an angry shout, again he let out another one of his crazy and demonic laughs, revealing his serrated teeth filled mouth again.

As expected he tosses out his final pokemon, a shadow banette. But, I myself could give him one better battle wise. Taking out my bracelet Korrina gave me and sifting through my bag for that Banettite stone, I toss it to her and slide the bracelet on.

She begins glowing, and once that stops, her body gains zippers all over. Her 'tail' disappears and her long sock like head tip points upward now. Looking more like a dress now, the new zippers on her waist and hands open up to reveal her 'real' body. Pinks claws and equally pink legs of spiritual energy.

"Alright Banette, you like your new form"? She nods, 'Bane', sharpening her new claws against each other. "Great. Now, use Sucker Punch, Shadow Sneak and Night Shade".

All too eager to make the faker suffer upon seeing it, she rushes in. With her glowing pink claws fully out, she ends up slashing it rather than punching. Headfirst, my mega living doll swipes right across the shadow's chest area.

Now with the sun at its high point, she casts her real shadow next, with it lurking across the ground. Ending up on the other side of the dark entity, the silhouette clings to life and rises up from the ground to sink its claws in from behind, literally backstabbing the opponent.

The actual shadow then dissolves and Banette unzips her mouth. The purple pink aura seeps out and she blows it like dust at the imitation. As the rule of the move goes, an unseen force leaves visible claw marks as well all across the shadow figure's body.

The damage was done, but even with her mega evolved, the black mass wasn't down for the count. With Banette's turn up it then performed its own moves.

Using Dazzling Gleam, the shadow ironically used a light based attack. Shooting out of its palms came a bright ball of Easter colors and pain. "Dodge it"! I cried.

Being the floating ghost type, she easily avoided the initial hit, but as the ball of light burst, it exploded area of effect style like a grenade which caused damage anyways.

Suddenly the copy's hands began to spark with electricity. After charging up, it blasted the yellow energy towards Banette. Due to the haphazard zigzag effect of lightning though, it struck her even with dodging.

Zapped with at least 1'000 volts, if she were human she'd be dead. But being technically not even alive as she was an alleged living plush, Banette would live.

Finally it used Double Team. With a trick of the eyes and a flicker of the sun's ray it created three copies of itself, more an illusion than a substitute, but it shouldn't be too big a problem with area of effect attacks as well on our end.

Placing my hand inside my bag I remembered the Z Crystals. Taking out the Ghostium, I hand it to Banette. It absorbs into her skin temporarily and at this point, it was time to wreck this shadow.

"Okay Banette, let's show these two what we can do. Use Z Curse". Her already unzipped mouth blows more 'dust' all across every one of them just in case as she takes her own claw and impales herself through the chest.

As it was Z powered, she was completely healed, in addition now to the shadow taking Cruse damage now with every turn of hers and not just that shadow taking its own. Which, would definitely result in its destruction.

Once that was cleared up she used the upgraded Shadow Force. A massive black and purple portal opened up behind her which she slipped into in an instant.

Reappearing behind the shadow and its copies, she began cutting them each up with her large claw hands. With each swing, she cuts through the intangible duplicates before reaching the real thing.

Jamming her claws right in there for massive damage, the shadow let out a screech that sounded less like a living creature and more like nails on a chalkboard.

"Let's end this Banette! Use Never-Ending Nightmare, with Shadow Ball". Raising her arms outstretched upwards, multiple big black but non-solid tendrils shot out from the ground and swirled around her.

Flying into her palms, they formed an enormous big black orb of dark matter, which she didn't hesitate to toss at the shadow people. Due to its huge size, the second it made contact with the ground near them and combined with the Curse damage, it exploded into a lovely array of black smoke.

As insane amount of damage took place, all the duplicates and even the shadow itself were gone, completely obliterated by the special Z moves. With the last of the doppelganger's pokemon defeated, I looked to check his potential reaction.

The doppelganger himself seemed to have taken damage from the attack as well. Letting out one more menacing, teeth filled laugh, to my surprise he collapsed, falling backwards and hitting the ground. Was he dead?

Walking over to the corpse to check, Hexy shouted at me, "Wait"! I halted and looked back, "What the Hell do you think you're doing"? She scolded me, though I suppose she was right for me to be cautious from our experiences.

"I'm just checking to make sure he's actually dead. You know"? She shook her head but saw it as fair. Though she proved to be right.

As I drew closer with Banette at my side, the 'body' began contorting and convulsing. All three of us could hear the sounds of its bones crunching and shifting; extending.

His limbs grew long, lanky and extremely gangly rather exponentially so. His hands changed from fingers to claws. Not even hands anymore; more like sharpened knives.

The doppelganger silhouette creature no longer even resembled me, as it then moved to stand up. Banette took my hand and pulled me back as the monster stood up fully. He or more accurately it, was now like 8ft tall.

On top of it, his mouth was still gone, but now in place of the eyes he had when trying to look like me, he had black vacant and fittingly soulless eye sockets; blood leaking down from them.

Despite the lack of mouth however he would prove to at least be able to make noises, but that was the extent. His ability of communication seemed to have escaped him it seemed since I beat his evil shiny pokemon, though maybe he just didn't want to.

Either way, we all stood a good distance away as we took in the horrid sight. "So, this is what you really are huh? I guess I'll just have to kill you for real this time".

But I had no clue what he could do as he wasn't exactly a pokemon. More so some kind of demon. That said I thought it over as he gazed at me with vacant eyes threateningly.

Given he was completely black and evil I had an idea. Returning Banette to her ball, taking back the stone and crystal and storing my bracelet, I decided to take out Darkrai.

He was resistant to both Ghost and of course Dark, so he HAD to be the right call. "Using me again so soon"? My friend looked at me with his judgmental pretty blue piercing eyes.

"Yes. I need you to help me with...that", I pointed forward at the doppelganger.

"I see. Very well, let's finish it off for good". Balling his three fingered claws into fists, Darkrai prepared for the worst, and the monster certainly was going to give just that. Then the music changed again, coming blaring from him it seemed like the other two times. (You Can't Run Encore High Effort V1 Fl4re)

It was assumed he could use ANY dark move without restriction, making him formidable. Which was accurate as he suddenly used Baddy Bad, which aside from being one of the dumbest move names I've ever heard, was allegedly only used by one specific Eevee from a long while ago.

The black entity raised its head and screamed out like a wild animal, being surrounded with a dark fog briefly, which spread over to Darkrai, meaning his possible weakness would be lessened. As all Fighting moves were pretty much physical.

After that, another black glow but around his head; Nasty Plot to increase his specials. Using Lash Out, he finally made a physical move, walking over with his extremely tall legs and then attempting to step on Darkrai.

Shifting away, he then took his turn without any of my say so. But I trusted him naturally, so I knew he'd do well here. Using Double Team, he created his illusion copies to throw off the monster.

The came the fighting moves. Charging his balled fist with red aura he then used Rock Smash, flying up a little and punching the doppelganger creature right in the elongated gut.

Losing some defense from that, Darkrai immediately followed up on it to take advantage of the situation. With another attack, he used Focus Blast.

Placing his charcoal colored palms close together but not entirely he began to create a big blue orb of chi. After accumulating enough and enlarging it for impact, he released the ovular ball.

Impacting the beast head on, despite the deduction of damage taken it still was a lot due to weakness, no matter how much he coated it with status moves.

On that note, he used Night Daze. Stomping on the ground with his disfigured foot and shoe, a big shock wave emitted from the ground, being vibrating enough apparently to even get a hit off on Darkrai. Not good.

Out of nowhere though, he bent to one of his scrawny knees and stopped attacking. We both knew better though to fall for his False Surrender. But when it was obvious, he charged us like a rhino.

Darkrai dodged the headbutt with his flight capabilities, leaving the doppelganger with nothing but more anger.

With one more move, he uses Snarl to lower Darkrai's special attack. He rears up his head again and though lacking a mouth, roars out up into the air.

Using X-Scissor, Darkrai darted back down towards him with his sharpened claws crossed, cutting through him for some severe damage.

"Use Quick Attack", I chimed in. Taking heed of my orders this time Darkrai got his claws at the ready again and shifted over to the monster in a phase, along with his distracting copies.

Taking the damage, the doppelganger finally lost it. "RAWRRRRRRR…"! Everything around us shook as the sky became black, the dirt turned dark red and all of us 'changed', as did the music which shifted.

My hands were pixelated like when using MissingNo's signature, and now so was Darkrai and Hexy. Looking like living game characters. The doppelganger himself had changed though, now looking like an identical copy of myself.

Pointing at me threateningly as he actually sang the tune due to having a mouth again, he used Power Trip, running over at breakneck speed to sock Darkrai right in the face. The speed had caught him off guard.

With all the status moves he had used however, even with the natural Dark resistance, my pokemon friend still took considerable damage from all the buffs.

Then immediately after, the abomination of a demon used Assurance. Not backing away from Darkrai, he punched my Dark type right int the chest, dealing additional but subtracted double damage.

Taking the damage like a champ, he swipes the doppleganger away and readies his own attacks, using Ice Beam. Darkrai uses both his palms, blasting out a stream of damaging ice.

The attack connected, freezing the enemy in a block of the stuff. Unfortunately, either due to his strength alone or his MissingNo type powers, he broke free, scattering ice cubes everywhere and shards.

"Thunder! Try that"! Darkrai acknowledged, taking his rather currently stiff arms and projecting electricity upwards. I then noticed that him and I had very stiff limbs, making it hard to move. I guess a side effect of this 'pixelation'.

Regardless of that, the artificial lightning came back down and struck the doppelganger like a conducting rod. Taking the high damage, though a little less so, the move connected well.

"Give him another Focus Blast"! My dark friend didn't hesitate, creating the same, albeit now '8-bit'. The attack falls through, once again a direct hit, sending the doppelganger flying back.

Recovering from the attack, he angrily went back to his own moves. The first thing he did was lift his fingers and snap in a commanding way. Black aura suddenly surrounded Darkrai; Embargo.

With that effect, giving him any healing berries or the like wouldn't do anything until either this bastard died, or we did.

Next he used Dark Pulse, outstretching his arms and sending the multiple rings outwards to harm Darkrai. On top of stiff joints, it seemed we were restricted in movement as well, not being able to dodge as well, though Dark Pulse was always hard to avoid as it was.

Then unexpectedly he used Fiery Wrath, something he shouldn't have access to either. But I assumed he had every Dark type move under his belt. Engulfed by fire hence the name, my duplicate sprinted over and with a flaming fist, snatched Darkrai by the throat, lifting him up before punching him in the head.

Flung away by the attack, he hovers back and shoves the entity back. But this just made him more pissed it seemed, as he then went for another move involving fire he should've had no normal way of using.

Still on fire entirely, out of nowhere, black tendrils sprout from thin air and go into him, seemingly making him stronger as he goes for a G Max One Blow despite not even being gigantamaxed.

Using Assurance for the variation, his fist becomes pitch black and combined with the raging power up of sorts he darts for Darkrai and lands another blow. My dark friend was now looking pretty injured with all the attacks he's been dealt even with resistances, and it angered me to no end I couldn't even heal him. Or could I?

On top of that, with the sky darkened like soot, he raised his arms again, looking up to the sky and presumably summoning storms clouds, as a large cyclone developed overhead.

G Max Snooze; and though it wouldn't make us tired it would definitely do some damage. A big beam of dark energy zapped him from the 'eye' above, and with a little whirring sound, out of his body exploded a huge dome of pink and black aura.

The literal huge attack leaves a big crater, on top of hurting Darkrai severely and even injuring me and Hexy as collateral, which he in turn laughed about.

The doubles Darkrai had at this point had vanished. But now it was our turn to fight back. With my friend's endurance there was no way we would lose to this monster, especially with how far we've gotten.

Using Brick Break, Darkrai flies over like a bat out of Hell and strikes him atop the skull with his glowing red claw, then savagely follows it up without even a breather, with Focus Punch.

Keeping his fist glowing red with power and anger, Darkrai holds it back to put more force behind it, then introduces it to his face. The doppelganger skidded across the dark red dirt hard.

Taking the hard damage even with his own added resistances, it was evident he wasn't doing to well as he actually yelled out words in rage, "WHY YOU LITTLE"!

In the blink of an eye everything went back to normal, with the doppelganger back to his unsettling real appearance. Holding his head in anger, he pointed his jagged and lengthy arm at me whilst yelling, looking like he was attempting to grab me with it. "WHY CAN'T I KILL YOU, RUNT"?!

The taller monstrosity spoke up as the music picked up faster. With that cue, we again readied ourselves for what was presumably his final onslaught.

Using Hyperspace Fury, he closes his hand then reopens it up to reveal six rings which he tosses forward and that begin spinning around Darkrai like a pack of wolves circling.

Like portals of some kind, the doppelganger creates an extra and shoves his claw though it, repeatedly striking and slashing him through all six rings at once. It looked just as brutal as it was.

Darkrai swipes away at the multiple claws. Eventually the rings dissipated, but it wasn't over. Next up the demon used Wicked Blow. Imbuing his claws with more black energy, he clenched the dagger type fingers into a fist.

Trudging over like a basketball star, he extended his already long arm and struck Darkrai where he stood. At this point my friend was so weak I'd be surprised if he could dodge.

With a seemingly confident attitude, the doppelganger used Hone Claws to boost his stats yet even more, sharpening them by scraping them against each other, complete with the crunching sound.

He then used Power Trip again, keeping his close distance and trying to end my Dark type as quickly as he good. "Dodge"! I shouted desperately.

Reacting, though slowly, Darkrai flies out of the way to avoid the possibly fatal attack due to all the buffs the faker had at this point.

Not letting up on the moves long enough for us to take a turn, the next thing he opted to pull was Malicious Moonsault. Running towards us in full sprint he tried crashing into Darkrai, but failed as he elevated himself far too high to reach.

At this point he let out yet another angered scream, "RAWRRRRRRRR"! With the loud roar, the sky briefly turned pure black, and as if it were another buff of sorts, he became so engulfed by black aura that not even his bleeding eyes were seen as it entered him.

Upon absorbing the Max Darkness, the doppelganger balled himself up for a moment before spreading out in another loud bestial roar. Summoning Dark Pulse, but with even larger more dangerous rings of dark matter.

Darkrai couldn't avoid it if he tried and the dangerous creations sent him into critical condition as they hit one after the other. At this point, my poor friend was at death's door, and without healing items able to be used there was only one optimal option.

"Darkrai, let's finish this guy. Give him everything you've got, starting with Drain Punch"! He didn't need to be told twice. With the little strength he had left, my Dark friend's fist glowed red again and hitting the doppelganger with a direct impact left him literally drained.

As his fist made contact with the entity, some of his life force rejuvenated him, at least enough to get him out of severe condition as well as in turn injure the opponent.

"Now Darkrai. Use Focus Punch and Focus Blast. Again, and again, and again….and again until he's pulp"! My voice became vindictive and malicious towards this evil figure now. I NEEDED him gone for the sake of all that was holy in this world. If there was anything holy left in it.

With his balled fist claws staying the red shade, he absolutely went into the monster, giving him one punch after another to varying locations. Chest, arms, and of course that mouthless mug of his.

With each high powered punch, the demon visibly became more injured, staggering back. After beating him to black, 'bloody' mess, Darkrai's fists were dripping in his substance.

Then with a picture perfect finish, my experienced pokemon builds up a final Focus Blast, only this time he creates the biggest one yet. Double the size of himself, the enormous ball of blue energy is hurled right at the shadow like entity.

In his final words he angrily reaches in my direction though of course can't grab me, "JUST DIEEEEEEEE…"!

The orb matching his own piercing but beautiful eyes seemed like a poetic downfall of sorts as the ball of aura eviscerated the doppelganger at last upon impact.

As the dust settled, nothing remained of...'me', but a single black claw that belonged to it. Walking over with hesitation, I look around to see if it was really over. Fortunately it seemed as such. So without putting much thought into it I simply placed the claw into my backpack with all the other 'mementos'.

After that, I of course walked over to Hexy. "I'm sorry". Trying to hopefully patch things up. "You know I would never say those things to you. Don't you"?

"I know and...I'm sorry I believed even for a moment it was actually you. After everything we've been through together I should've been more trusting". She looks at me with a sullied expression.

I place my hand on hers as we sit down on the ground together, "If it makes you feel any better. I wasn't sure at first what he was either. But regardless, it's done. He's dead and we can move on".

Standing up I extended my hand down to her, "Now come on, let's get out of this place. We need to get to Lavender Town". Though I said it with confidence, it was the last place in the world anyone would ever want to be. Though not by choice.

Admittedly, we had faced so many horrific things, what was one little cursed town to us at this point?

Heading North, I returned Darkrai for his well deserved rest as we traveled up towards Cerulean to get to Lavender Town. Though unexpectedly and not showing up on the map we would come across two different landmarks.

We found ourselves in what looked like another small town akin to Pallet, only it would turn out to literally be dead, minus one living being. A pokemon. One I'd seen WAY too much of.
