*Afterschool

I snuck away with Evelyn to the back of the school walking with crutches.

"Where are we going?"

"Sorry don't want to talk yet. I need all the confidence I can get before I ask you something."

"Okay."

It was true. I barely had the confidence to ask her out on a date and after going on several together I figured now was the time. No pressure.

We found a bench and Evelyn helped me sit when she saw I was struggling.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

"We've known each other for a while now right?"

"Yes we have. Nearly 3 years and counting. Why do bring it up?"

"I was thinking how stubborn you used to be."

"I was different back then. But yeah I used to be quite a stubborn b*tch."

"You still kind of are."

Evelyn punched my arm at that retort and I just laughed.

"I'm joking geez! Anyways, the reason I brought it up is because I realized how much of an impact you had on my life. You made me see things differently, you expanded my horizons, and I trust you more than any Pokémon in the world."

"Did you just say two similar things?"

"Yeah but with different meanings. Point being, you were always there for me when it mattered most. Although I embarrass you or make you angry all the time, this is kind of weird to say but I enjoy it when I do. I like you when you're happy, worried, embarrassed, mad, or f*cking pissed. I realized there's no other girl I would want to share these feelings with. Just you. And you mean a lot to me. Evelyn, will you be my girlfriend?"

I held her paw smiling at her trying to tell her I liked her a lot with just the look in my eyes.

She sat there momentarily stunned before breaking out into laughter. This was surprising.

"What? What's so funny?"

"Sorry that was just both cute and hilarious at the same time."

Arceus this mon makes me hate her and love her at the same time.

"Whatever."

"But to be serious, you really want me to be your girlfriend? Am I who you really want? Tell me and look me right in the eyes that way I know you're being sincere."

After everything. Yes. I smiled feeling more sure now than ever. I placed my paw on her arm and looked her right in her eyes.

"Evelyn. Yes I want to be with you."

Without warning she pulled me by the shirt and gave me a searing kiss. I thought it would feel cold like last time but her lips felt very warm.

She pulled away her face looked like a tomato. But she had a big peaceful smile on her face.

"Yes. I want you to be my boyfriend."

I felt so much joy at once I mega evolved and scooped her off the bench.

"Woohoo! That's so f*cking amazing!"

Evelyn didn't say a word but giggled as I planted kisses all over her face. Eventually our lips met and it felt awesome.

"Mmmmuah!"

She was about to cuddle my chest when I nearly fell over. My legs were still pretty weak and recovering.

I sat down still holding Evelyn and disarmed the mega form holding her close. She sat in my lap nestling her head into my chest beside my horn.

"Wow I can finally call you my girlfriend."

"And you boyfriend."

"I'll make sure not to piss you off as much."

"We just have to wait and see."

"Yeah. Oh shit! Don't we have training with Mew and Mewtwo today after school?"

"That's right. We do. Let's go!"

We both headed back to the entrance, me moving as fast as I could on crutches. Sylveon and Eevee were waiting for us in the parking lot both noticing us looking at each other.

"Guys."

"Yeah?"

I leaned on a crutch before I held Evelyn's paw and proudly held it up high making her laugh.

"We're a couple! We're together!"

Eevee and Sylveon both cheered before pulling us both into a group hug.

"Finally brother! You two made it agonizing sometimes watching you two act will they won't they! But I'm glad you two came together! I'm happy for you both!"

"What he said!"

Evelyn mumbled something as we accidentally squished her in the hug and she pushed us apart annoyingly.

"Uggghh! I appreciate all the sentiments the mushiness less but we can all celebrate later! I am happy to have Ryu as my boyfriend now! But we have training to get to so let's go!"

I held my paw over my head and saluted her. She blushed and shoved me gently as we laughed and left to go to the training.
