Violet still hated Portkeys but she always had a few emergency ones to her own house and a few to that of her friends. Long distance travel like this was solely performed with portkeys, every other form of magic transportation would take up too much energy. Sure brooms were an option but would take too long and she had muggles with her and therefore wouldn't have been able to do it anyway.
Violet had to her shame never gotten the hang out of portkey travel and therefore she was already stumbling to the ground when they appeared, only to have Reborn immediately grab her and stabilise her against his side. She really couldn't get over the fact that the hitman had even managed to stay unaffected in this kind of situation.
Actually none of them had problems with standing, sure verdes skin had taken a slightly green tint but she was still the only one struggling.
"I bloody hate portkeys okay?" she defended herself and he just smirked down at her, pulling her a bit closer.
"Which house is it?" Lal inquired, already looking around the street.
"Oh shoot.. I forgot. Okay, listen up everyone; Violet Jamie Potter's house and the former headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix is located at Grimmauld Place 12."
They stared at her in confusion.
"Morgana, I forgot how complicated this is gonna be… I have to access the wards for a moment, okay?"
"What's the problem, kora?"
"My house is unplottable to an insane degree. Several generations of Wizards put layers and layers of wards and spells over it. I told you the location to at least get rid of the Fidelius but well… the more darker spells are still an issue. Honestly none of you would even be able to see it without me actively working on it, even if I show you the entrance. So please just stay here for a second, okay?"
Violet left them standing and disappeared into nothing.
She had opened the door and was hurryingly trying to lower the wards to a slight degree, she would only need to lower it for a minute, to give them the ability to see and get inside. That's all that mattered. It's not like they would stay here for long.
The wards were definitely reluctant but she had spent enough evenings with Bill and Fleur to have some kind of resemblance of having a handle to manipulate the wards that were completely attuned to her own magic.
She tuned out Walburgas shrewish yelling in the background. She could take care of that when she had gotten her bondmates safely inside.
The arcobalenos meanwhile didn't really know what to do especially when a house sprang out between the tiny gap between 11 and 13.
The door was widely opened and Violet stood in the doorframe, hurriedly waving them inside, with a more than just concentrated look.
When they stepped inside the house, they were greeted by loud shrill screaming "Bllodtraiter! Filthy half blood letting in dirty Muggles! No better than your filthy Mudblood mother! You're disgracing the honourable Black name!"
Violet had left them standing again, hurrying over to the enormous portrait and trying to force the curtains to close in front of it "By Merlin's saggy balls. Shut up you old hag!"
Honestly the arcobalenos felt a bit lost. Nothing was as they had expected, as always when they dealt with the cloud.
Violet's house was dark and gloomy. It was clean but it didn't change the interior decoration. It was so far from anything that they connected with Violet it was almost humorous. Not to mention how her house apparently had way more protection on it than any of them could have dreamed of and the screaming portrait? Enough was said.
Violet was still fighting quite vulgarly with the woman and they could even see her cloud flames break out while she battled over control of the curtains.
"Oh how I wish I could melt your face off!" Violet paused "Wait… disintegrate. Fon! Could you use your flames?"
Fon who had stepped next to her at that exclamation "You want me to destroy this portrait?"
"Hell yeah! We have been trying for decades but we never tried storm flames. Pretty please?"
Fon gave her a last inquiring look, plainly ignoring the yelling before he kindled his flames. He actually had to put an enormous amount of strength into it but the portrait was visibly disintegrating.
Violet just looked at it in euphoric glee "Suck it Walburga! You're dying through a muggle. Rest in hell!"
Fon just concentrated on his task before he turned towards his cloud "I don't think I have ever heard you speak like this."
"Well excuse me but you haven't lived with that insane blood purist for decades." she stated before her face lighted up even more, throwing her arms around Fon and hugging him as tightly as she could "You're the absolute best Fon! You just became my favourite person in the whole world!"
Fon had to chuckle at that while he placed his own arms around her "I wasn't before?"
"No comment." she grinned before freeing herself "So… ready to meet my dogfather?"
"Do you mean godfather? And… wasn't he dead?"
"I said what I said." She grinned up at him, almost skipping in her steps, out of the pure euphoria she got from finally fulfilling one of Sirius dreams. "Come on! He's probably in the kitchen."
They followed, still sending wary glances around the room.
Violet made her way into the kitchen and she had been right, Sirius did sit in his portrait there, she had hung several empty frames around her house and one was even at Teddy's house so that Sirius wouldn't be trapped or lonely. Minerva had refused to grant him a spot at Hogwarts.
The Black was pictured as his 16 year old self, thankfully the portraits copied the behaviour from the moment they died. She really wouldn't have known how she would have dealt with a 16 year old that wouldn't have recognized her.
"Prongslet!" he exclaimed, waving at her and taking her change in "40 years and you finally have boobs. My little pup has officially become an adult, puberty hit you hard."
"Hey Snuffles" she grinned at him "I feel the love."
"Always. You finally decided to pay your poor old dogfather a visit?"
"Don't act like you're bored. I know you spend most of your time in the portrait of Esmeralda the Vain"
"Out of the despair that my Viola has forgotten me. Do you know how many nights I have spent crying over you?"
"Yeah, krokodil tears in front of whatever fling you were trying for."
"Who could fault me for that?
She laughed at that and Sirius finally spared some glances
"Oh is that your harem? Amazing work flower I taught you well."
"You know I can hang you in the closet right?"
"I came out of that when I was 15. You would do that to me? After all, I'm already that fabulous. I don't need more time in there!"
She rolled her eyes "Paddy? This is Fon '' she pulled the martial artist next to her "He's a muggle and just destroyed the portrait of your mother. Say thank you."
The Black actually jumped up from his chair at that "By circes saggy tits!" he bowed elegantly "I stand forever in your debt. Whatever you want I will grant it to you."
"Sirius… you are a portrait."
"Irrelevant."
She just sighed but stepped away to turn towards the food storage. Naturally she had no fridge, just a big cupboard with cooling and stasis charms that kept the food fresh.
She pulled out some of the ready made food Molly had prepared for her. Simultanly she turned the stove on.
While quite a lot of households in the magical world had kitchen appliances that were just plainly ancient and overworked with magic, the blacks had shied away from anything remotely muggle. The stove burnt with magical fire for example and it was possible to freely use magic in any way.
"So you're single?" Sirius asked Fon.
Fon still smiling as patient and serene as always nodded to that.
"Oh! I know it! You can marry Violet! You would be the perfect addition to our family!"
Violet turned around immediately "Excuse me?"
"Come on Jamie! He got rid of the hag. He's perfect!"
"That's your reason for trying to marry me off?"
"You're 60 and still have no heir. I'm pretty sure we still have ready made marriage contracts somewhere lying around. You could be married in a matter of minutes!"
"If I didn't know you spouted that traditional pureblood crap because of you already falling in love with him, I would have told Fon to do your portrait next."
"You wouldn't. You love me."
She rolled her eyes but did focus on heating up the food.
Sirius didn't give up though "And Letty I'm just looking out for you. Fon seems like a perfect reliable man. He's calm, polite and he got rid of my mother. He even has black hair. You don't even know how many generations of Potters had a couple of a redhead and a black haired partner. It is fate! He is clearly not British and it won't even be inbreeding."
Sirius gestured vividly between the two of them "I had hopes for you but you haven't followed the Potter tradition. There are only two ways a Potter falls in love. Either they are pining for years over a Person or they have a person pining for them. Your father fell in love with your mother when he saw her at eleven for the first time and he pined for her for six years. Your grandfather had to charm your grandmother for 12. Literally you should be grateful I'm helping you. The only person that loved you for years was Ginny and well you never went out with her"
"Ginny is in a perfectly happy relationship." She couldn't deny that she thought the situation was a bit too humorous.
"Yeah that's why I'm helping you."
"I'm still able to find someone by myself."
"I'm just trying to protect you. I mean look at that Fedora guy over there. All suave, good looking and a total smooth bastard. I totally know that type. I was that type. He's a complete Player and you won't be able to stop yourself from falling for him until he leaves you alone and pregnant. Guys like these are vultures and I just wish to spare you from that fate!"
"Be reassured I'm not interested in Reborn and he is quite open about the fact that he would only want a One night stand which I don't have any interest in."
"And then they say they want a relationship. Really Vio? That's why I need to look out for you and from one dogfather to a godflower Teddy probably wants a dad as well."
"teddy is 42."
"Irrelevant"
She snorted out, actually quite amused by his antics "I promise I won't start any illicit relationships with Reborn"
"And no romantic either. I want Fon as my godson in law."
"I can't help you with Fon but sure I can promise you I won't start any kind of romantic relationship with Reborn."
Sirius cheered at that before he put on his most charming smile again while speaking to Fon "You know Violet is the greatest catch you could get. voted most desired available Bachelorette numeral times. She has a great pedigree, she has money, is beautiful and an absolute delight to be around. You will never ever get bored with her. Oh and she definitely wants a family. Probably wants to start right away. You would be stupid to miss this chance."
"As a reminder. I'm not your daughter Padfoot and therefore not a bitch you are selling."
"Yes, yes I know Bambi."
"Bambi was a guy… just saying."
"You spent 40 years as a guy, your father was a stag and your mother had a doe patronus. Even you have a stag Patronus. The name is a great match"
Colonnello who had snickered the whole time at Reborns carefully controlled pokerface did speak up at that "Her patronus is a chameleon now."
Sirius stopped "...Violet?"
She just started to plate the food.
"Violet? You're not telling me what I think you're telling me right?"
"I'm not saying anything."
Sirius scanned the room, his eyes fell again on Reborn and the Chameleon he had on his hat "Violet no! I just told you! You can't do this to me! I veto it! Not gonna happen! No way in hell!"
"Calm down, you know what it actually means. Don't put anything weird into it."
"I still refuse."
Fon who so far had actually been way too amused at Sirius antics did jump at that "What does a changed Patronus mean?"
"It means.."
"Nothing!" she interrupted him "Siri I'm literally gonna spray acetone on you if you say another word about it."
"But Violet," he wailed.
"Nope. You don't get to put any weird meaning into it and you definitely won't tell them."
"But…"
"Nope. Not a word." she cut him off again, with one warning glance, even when her skin had a slight pink tint to it. She would take this secret to her grave.
