Disclaimer: not mine

So I've started the new Masters degree and it is very different to my previous one, a lot more reading and crazy due dates for assignments. I've been working on this chapter all trimester so that's how little time I've got for writing at the moment.

Updated pairings: Sora/Kairi/Riku, Ventus/Luna.

Time doesn't run exactly the same for every world, so it's been a few days for Sora while for Harry this chapter flows immediately from it. the court case has now been running for about 2hrs what with unsealing the file and stuff. Depending on what world the boys are on time may flow faster or slower to the worlds others are on.

Chapter 7

Amelia fought he urge to roll her eyes as Albus made his grand entrance but…it also made her suspicious. Had the time not been changed he would have arrived…oh, so that's how it was. She was well aware of the games he played, all part of politics, but to play them with a student didn't sit right.

"You are very late Albus," she told him, "but you currently aren't needed as we aren't interviewing witnesses at the moment. A point was brought up regarding Mr Potter's status as a minor and we are working to resolve it, so take a seat and remain quiet unless called upon." She then looked at Harry and drew her wand, seeing him tense slightly in reaction, but she simply summoned one of the plain witness chairs to where he stood. "Seeing as this session has been running for some time now Mr Potter, please, take a seat."

"Thank you ma'am." He sat in the chair.

"Well Madam Bones?" Cornelius demanded after a moment.

"It appears Mr Potter is correct; he cannot be charged with underaged use of magic. He has been an adult since last October," she announced calmly even as the room erupted in noise.

Because she was looking at him, she saw the flash of fury in Albus' eyes at that…and the sight of the unsealed file before her. Just what was he hiding and why didn't he want Mr Potter to be declared of age? Or was there something in the file itself? She'd need to go over it with a fine-tooth comb when she had the chance. The thickness of the file, especially for a teenager, worried her. Then again, someone could have simply filed the reports on that Halloween with Potter's file since he was the sole survivor.

Hades stared at the boy who lay still on the bed, eyes moving behind closed lids. He was fighting Maleficent's work but he had no way to defeat the spells on him. He had magic, oh did he have magic! But it had lain dormant within him for most of his life, the spells she had placed couldn't be broken instinctively which was the level his magic use was at. No, someone would have to break them for him and no one in the castle would. The Keyblade brat wouldn't know how but that Court Magician might, if he even realised Riku was under any. Honestly, the kid would be even easier to control after a quick trip to the Underworld and a dunk in a certain river, but Maleficent though he'd be more useful the way he was.

He didn't really care about her plans, he was in it for some fun and hey, if Jerkules and his brother were dealt with earlier than the prophecy said, he was hardly going to complain. Speaking of, he should get moving, he had a pawn to send the heroes way.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Harry ignored the Headmaster, focusing on Madam Bones. He was right, he was an adult. He was doing his best to ignore the feeling of cold coming from the other, unable to focus on it enough to try and work out what was going on, hoping whoever it was, was okay.

At least that was one charge against him dealt with, now to beat the other one.

"Yes, well, that makes the second charge even more important. To the charge of breaking the Statute of Secrecy by using magic in front of a muggle, how do you plead?" Fudge demanded.

"Not guilty," Harry stated firmly, causing another wave of whispers. "First of all, the muggle was my cousin who's known about magic as long as I have, and secondly, there is an exception to that law if the magical in question is in danger, especially life-threatening danger. There were two Dementors and they attacked both of us. I used the Patronus to drive them away just before one was able to administer the Kiss to my cousin, Dudley Dursley," he explained.

"Preposterous!" the toad-like woman declared. "The Dementors are under Ministry control."

"I am prepared to offer testimony under Veritaserum, provide Pensieve memories, or a magical oath as to the truth." He stared her down, refusing to bow to such a person.

"Now, now, there's no need for all that," Fudge stepped in.

"You're the one that turned this into a trial Minister, as such those options are my right. Or are you trying to railroad a guilty verdict?"

That caused a lot of disquiet.

"Mr Potter is correct!" Madam Longbottom called. "He is legally an adult and has consented to Veritaserum or a Pensieve so get on with it."

"Hemm hemm. Surely there is no need to waste everyone's time with such things when the boy is a proven liar and has a record."

"The truth is never a waste of time Madam Umbridge. Besides, both methods would assure the truth is told," Madam Bones cut in. "Bring in the court Pensieve," she ordered and an Auror left.

Harry was pleased, he'd hoped they'd go for that over Veritaserum. It meant he didn't have to give up any autonomy which the potion would do and there was nothing stopping him adding a few memories. When the Auror placed it on the table, the man quickly instructed him on how to choose and remove memories. Harry nodded, placing his wand to his temple, seeing Dumbledore tense out of the corner of his eye. What did he think he was going to show?

He considered it and then began moving the memories into the Pensieve – First year and the stone, Second year and the Basilisk, Third year and the Shrieking Shak then Fudge, the Graveyard, Crouch Jnr, and the aftermath and then finally the Dementor attack. Harry nodded to the Auror and stepped back, watching the man activate the Pensieve. Smoke drifted up from the surface, forming an image of the chamber and then within it the mirror and Professor Quirrell.

"What is this?" Fudge demanded.

"Background information. I'm entitled to show all evidence after all and this is evidence as to a possible person who set Dementors on me."

"Did you seek a law wizard out before today Mr Potter?"

"Sadly no, Madam Bones. I was kept under lock and key by the Headmaster however I did have access to a library." Yeah, he was very willing to throw Dumbledore under the bus.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Albus seethed, he'd been sidelined and he definitely did not like Harry's attitude. He was far too calm and collected when faced with so many of those older and wiser than the boy was. It was obvious to him what the first memory was, just how much did the boy plan to reveal? He was meant to arrive and save Harry from the Wizengamot, to reinforce the boy's view of him as his saviour. Those blasted Black wards, he'd been unable to ensure the boy couldn't get passed them and into the library, and Molly had told him the boy had been ignoring her order to clean the house with the others. Obviously he'd spent the time researching the law.

His file being unsealed could be a disaster. If they found out his taking over as guardian had been illegal…about Riku and the fact he was alive, somewhere. Though he wasn't sure if that was in the file, he hadn't read it all before sealing it. The boy's name had been on the Hogwarts list until Albus had used the Elder Wand to override the book and remove it. The last thing he needed was Harry's twin showing up and giving him something to live for when he had to die to defeat Tom. Then there were all the incidences of accidental magic he'd had to cover up while Harry was at the Dursley's, not to mention Obliviating several Aurors. So the boys had played rough a bit and Vernon had been a little heavy handed on disciple now and then, it built character. Those claims of abuse were ridiculous, they were family after all.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Sora felt lost as he made his way through Wonderland. They'd saved Alice, sort of, only for her to be kidnapped while locked in the cage. He still wasn't really sure about Donald and Goofy, well Goofy seemed like he really wanted to help but there was something about Donald…like his mission mattered more than anything. He wasn't sure about that; he'd agreed to come to find Riku and Kairi.

He missed them so much; they were meant to be doing this together! He was worried about everyone from home too, but…whenever he thought of Riku there was something cold in his Heart and that scared him. Kairi he knew was okay, he could feel it, she was warm and safe.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

He had to wake up, the boy needed help, but there was another presence now. Young, female…scared. The boy truly had a big Heart to shelter them both and he carefully wrapped around her, helping to sooth her. They would keep her safe, he could feel her Light, so bright and pure. The Darkness would want her…he would want her.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Amelia watched memory after memory play, feeling sick. What the hell was Albus playing at? Seeing the house elf use magic, she absently removed the note in Harry's file, giving him a clean underage record. Seeing a few flashes of his second year had her making a mental note to speak with Susan about her behaviour and then she watched in horror as a twelve-year-old faced a thousand-year-old basilisk and the memory of…she furiously began making notes as Voldemort revealed his true identity. Someone actually screamed as a fang sank deep into the boys' arm. How was he alive?!

It seemed she needed to have words with Cornelius about overstepping his authority. Honestly, sending Hagrid to Azkaban? What had he been thinking? She could understand what Mr Potter was doing in showing so many memories and it was not painting a pretty picture of Hogwarts or their government. It was nice to see Albus and Cornelius squirm. Though it took all of her self-control not to scream at the Minister when she saw the need of the boys' third and fourth years! A few people fainted as they watched Voldemort reborn, and she made sure she wrote down every name mentioned, subtly motioning to Aurors to move to those in the chamber. She knew Malfoy would be waiting outside so she wrote a note to grab him asap.

Her department was going to be very busy. Would this be enough to impeach Cornelius? Oust Albus as Headmaster? But who would replace them that could be trusted?

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Harry hated having to be so exposed by showing those memories, but what else could he do? Who knew what they would have asked him if he'd taken the potion, at least he had control of what memories he'd shown. And from the look of things, he'd done some good, Aurors were moving about as covertly as possible. Finally, the memory needed for the case came up, showing two Dementors swooping down on him and Dudley. He heard gasps and whispers as Prongs ran them off, prancing about the alley before fading away and then Mrs Figg showed up and told him to keep his wand out. As much as he didn't want to, he'd included all the rest, the Dursley's and the letters from the Ministry as well as the mysterious Howler which he noticed made Dumbledore grimace.

Madam Bones stood to face him as his memories were returned to him. "Motion to dismiss all charges against Mr Potter. Second?" she asked.

"Seconded! Call the vote so we can get on with things," the old woman from before snapped.

Harry watched as nearly every wand lit in response, relieved. With the evidence provided it would look very strange for someone to vote no, they didn't even bother asking for that response since it was obvious the yeses had the win.

Cleared of all charges," Madam Bones nodded. "You are free to go Mr Potter," she told him firmly. "Albus Dumbledore you will be taken in for questioning on the massive irregularities at Hogwarts. Members of the Wizengamot, I make the motion to impeach Minister Fudge."

"Seconded!" Madam Longbottom called, and Harry could have sworn Fudge went as green as his hat and looked ready to faint even as the toad beside him began to bluster but was ignore.

Well, that couldn't have gone any better. Except…

"Madam Bones!" he called to be heard, and she turned to him. "What about my innocent Godfather, Sirius Black?"

"If you can contact him, do so and tell him to expect my owl within the next few days."

"Thank you." with that he turned and slipped out before he could be waylaid by anyone. He grinned at Mr Weasley even as the shocked man watched Malfoy being slapped in cuffs.

He was surprised when a passing Auror quickly slipped him a note, taking the chance to look at it, seeing a note from Madam Bones telling him to get to Gringotts and ask to speak with the Potter account manager…he had an account manager? Harry glanced at Mr Weasley, would he let him or would he have to slip away? The Ministry was busy enough, if he dropped back, got to the Floo's in the entrance…

"What happened in there Harry?" Mr Weasley asked as they made their way back to the elevators.

"I've been cleared of all charges and Madam Bones has begun arresting Death Eaters, taken Dumbledore into custody for questioning and called to impeach the Minister."

Mr Weasley almost stumbled. "What?" they got in the elevator. "Why would she take the Headmaster in?"

"I showed memories from every year at Hogwarts. Madam Bones is very unhappy with both Fudge and Dumbledore because of that. And she will be owling Sirius soon since they all saw Peter in the third and fourth year memories," Harry was fighting the urge to run, he needed to get to Gringotts apparently and he really needed to meditate and try to deal with everything… and the strange coldness coming from where he usually felt the other.

"How could you do that?" Mr Weasley was looking at him, horrified.

"Very easily, I use my brain rather than let Dumbledore dazzle me into stupidity," he snapped, leaving the elevator as soon as it arrived at the lobby, slipping into the crowd to rush to the Floo. He didn't relax even when he arrived safely in Diagon Alley, Death Eaters and Order member alike would have their own plans for him if they spotted him.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Sirius sat up as Arthur Floo'd in….without Harry.

"Arthur, where's Harry, what happened?" Molly demanded shrilly.

"He's not here? We got separated in the lobby," Arthur admitted.

"So he was cleared?" his wife pushed.

"All charges dismissed."

Well...that was a relief. All the study had hopefully paid off, or someone had stood up for him and taken Fudge to task over his actions. "What exactly happened?" he pushed. It took a lot of work and interruptions but he finally got everything Arthur had seen and heard out of him. After that, he had his suspicions about where Harry was and he hoped he was right.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Sora slumped on the bed before curling on his side to sleep and Donald frowned at the sight. He'd done well enough in the games today, though his spells needed a lot of work, but tomorrow would be even harder. It was good training but it also felt like a waste of time, it was obvious the King wasn't in Olympus so they really should move on. Sora was a good enough kid but he was also very frustrating, far too easily distracted from the mission.

"Let him sleep Donald," Goofy called, and Donald turned away with a huff to join his friend.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Harry slumped back in the chair, not sure what to think. He felt so lost. Thankfully, the goblins remained silent, allowing him to try and accept it all. He glanced down at the ring on his finger, the ring that had last sat on his Dad's finger. Harry was now Lord Potter. Even with what he'd managed to research and the little Sirius had been able to sneakily teach him, he hadn't really realised just how important the Potter name was. He'd wondered about a link to Gryffindor since second year and the sword but there was another family too, Peverell which was just as old, maybe even older though less known now since the male line had died out.

He was also technically a Black though not heir…no, that was his younger twin brother. Riku…why had no one told him? Where was he? The goblins swore he was alive, their records showed that much. And Harry found he believed them, it had to be Riku he could sense and that made him even more worried about the cold feeling. What had happened to his brother?

For the first time in days, cyan eyes slowly opened to blink up at the ceiling.
