The next morning was beautiful. Adam didn't want to move. His hand resting on Kim's belly as she slept wrapped in his arms. He could feel the baby kicking lightly against his hand and he couldn't remember a more magical feeling. It was almost unreal how happy he was in life right now. He loved his job, he was finishing college and had his dream family with a new nugget on the way. Life couldn't be better. He just wanted to stay in this bubble a bit longer knowing Jackson would be up soon and Adam needed to head to practice. They never got to talk last night about the whole dancing thing but there would be time later. He didn't want to interrupt this perfect moment in time.

Minutes later he felt Kim starting to move. He watched as she eyes began to flutter open, a dreamy smile started to creep onto her face when she realized she was still in Adams safe hold. Her happy place. "Morning". Kim greeted still groggy from a good nights sleep. "Good morning. I assume you slept well." Adam asked as she snuggled closer with her eyes closed once again. He could fell her nodding her head as an answer. "I felt our little nugget kicking already this morning. And it still feels amazing. I love them already so much. I didn't know it was possible." Adam spoke as he held Kim closer. He felt something wet on his chest and pulled away slightly to see she was smiling wide with tears in her eyes. "I love you and our little family so much. It's ridiculous how happy I am right now. And how much this moment makes my realize this is where we were always meant to be. I can't wait to see what the future ho,do for us all." Kim leans up to kiss Adam knowing they can't get too out of control since Jackson would be up soon.

They made there way into the kitchen to start breakfast a short while later. Adam left the kitchen to go wake Jackson for the day. He missed having one on one time with his son. He cherished those moments. But it also made his melancholy since he never had these moments with his own dad. His strive to be a good dad everyday drives him to make these moments happen even when he was busy with his career. His family always being the first priority. "Hey buddy. Good morning. It's time to get up." Adam spoke quietly, trying to wake Jackson but not scare him at the same time. Adam rubs his back a bit to help wake him from his deep sleep. It wasn't really working to he tried a different tactic. "Jackson breakfast is almost done. Do you want some pancakes?" All of a sudden Jackson popped up at the word pancake and Adam couldn't hold back his laugh. "Daddy did you say pancakes? Let's go!" Jackson mentions as he's heading out to the kitchen, Adam shaking his head.

They enter the kitchen just as Kim finished the last of the pancakes and boys set the table and got everyone a drink. They ate and enjoyed small talk before getting ready for the day. Kim and Jackson were heading to a local zoo while Adam was at practice. Kim wanted to enjoy as much warm weather as possible since it was still freezing in Chicago. They took turns getting ready so Adam could spend more time with Jackson. They played a memory card game while Kim showered and he was doing quiet well at it. Adam cheered him on every time he got a match and encouraged him when he didn't get one right. This was how it's supposed to be he thought. He was no expert by any stretch of the imagination but he knew what not to do. When Jackson won the game he gave him a big hug and told him proud he was. Jackson just beamed under Adams praises. Kim watched on from the hallway not wanting to interrupt the beautiful moment.

Kim returned to their room to finish getting ready for the day. She heard a phone ringing in the other room but she was on vacation so didn't see the need to hurry to answer it. Adam however got up to answer the phone. Answering immediately when he noticed it was Voight calling. "Hey Sir. What's going on?" Adam asked concerned. "Adam Hey. Nothings wrong don't worry. Just wanted to run something by Kim and I need an answer quickly." Voight responded knowing Adam was concerned. "Oh okay. I will grab Kim. Hold on a minute." Adam started walking towards the room. "Kim? Voight is on the phone. He said he needs to ask you something." Adam hands her the phone as she gives him a quick kiss.

"Hey sir. What is going on?" Kim asked curiously. "Well I got a call from the academy looking for some one to teach a class and I thought it would nice for you to do it. It's not full time so you can still work Intelligence cases. But I need an answer quick. So what do you think?" Voight asked. "Sounds like a great idea. So I will do it. I can't wait!" Kim answered. Excited about this chance. "Perfect! I will call them and let them know. They will send you the syllabus for the class and all the teaching materials. It's Policies and Procedures so this should be super simple for you to teach. Now go back to enjoying the warm weather and your family. And I will see you when you get back to Chicago." Voight responded before hanging up.

Kim moved into the living room where the boys were still playing cards. "So obviously that was Voight who just asked me to teach a class at the academy! I'm so excited!" Kim announced when she entered the room. Adam jumped up right away to hug her. "Darling I'm so proud of you! That's a big honor. Tell me all about it!" "Well it's Policy and Procedures and it's not a full time position so I can still work Intelligence. They will be sending me all the teaching materials and the syllabus so I can be prepared ahead. But it's a great way to help mold the new recruits. I'm excited about doing this again."

"You have taught before? This is exciting that you can go back again. Definitely have lots of knowledge to share with the next generation of cops. So damn proud darling!" Adam kissed her hard before pulling back for air. "I can't wait to start. It's so fun seeing them bright eyed before all the horrible things they see taint them. Hoping to make them as prepared as possible to hit the streets, to serve and protect." Kim was so excited. "I love you so much! Please come dance with me. I know we are just in this apartment but I want a sweet moment with you before I have to leave. Tonight we will celebrate!" Adam held out his hand and grinned madly as he waited for her to take it. "You are crazy but I love you too. So yes let's dance now and 'dance' later." She wiggled her eyebrows hoping he got the hint. "Love that idea baby! Tonight will be epic!!" Adam spoke just as he leaned into kiss her softy. The whole time neither knew that Jackson was watching with love in his eyes.

The dance was over and Adam got ready to leave for practice. After they had all left for the apartment they parted ways headed towards their respective activities. Kim and Jackson went into the zoo and spent several hours walking around seeing all the animals. Kim loved the otters, they are her favorites and Jackson loved the tigers. They had to go back several times to see them before he was ready to leave for the day. By the time they returned to the car Jackson was already asleep. Kim put him in the car as quietly as possible as to not wake him.

On the other side of town Adam was settling into practice. He was on the field stretching when he noticed several of his team mates heading his way. He just kept up with his warm ups knowing it was necessary to prevent injuries. They stood over him with smirks on their faces. "What do you need guys?" Adam asked as he kept stretching. "Your girl can dance and knows dancers. We want to meet them. She can hook us up right?" The youngest team mate asked. Adam never even talked to the kid. He hadnt even made the team yet. "Yes she can, she's classically trained in ballet and no I won't ask her to introduce the girls to you guys. Keep you head in the game here. And leave my fiancé alone." Adam huffed as he walked away to go work out elsewhere. He now knows why she kept that information a secret. He definitely didn't blame her.

It was a brutal practice. Between the workout, batting practice and then outfield practice it was close to 8 hours of working out. But they a game tomorrow, first one of the off season so this was a necessary evil. After practice he hit the showers knowing he was sweaty and smelled. He couldn't go home like this, Kim would not be happy about that. After his shower he was getting dressed when his coach approached him. "Adam can we talk for a minute?" Coach asked. "Sure what's up?" Adam asked curious of what was going on. "I had a complaint from some of your team mates that you were brash with them earlier. You know we can't have that. You have been here awhile, you need to lead them not tear them down." The coach explained. Adam laughed. "Well when they asked about Kim dancing and wanting her to introduce them to her dancer friends I feel the need to end that conversation especially when it's on the field. Where we should have been getting ready for practice. So now how was I wrong?" Adam explained then asked. "Oh I didn't know that was what happened. Okay I will handle this. And yes you did the right thing. They need to focus on the game and not your personal life. And definitely not the dance team for the Bulls. See you tomorrow." The coach walked away and Adam was left feeling frustrated but pleased that his coach understood.

At the apartment Kim and Jackson were outside in the playground running around. The napped definitely brought back the energy and it was too nice outside to stay indoors. Adam saw them playing outside and decided to join them. "Hey you two! Are you guys having fun?" Adam asked while walking closer. "Daddy!" Jackson shouted as he ran over to Adam to picked him up and swung him around like an airplane. The giggling was infectious. Kim watching laughing the whole time. "Hey baby how was your day?" Kim asked as Adam got closer. "It was a long hard workout but I think we are ready for tomorrow now. Some players still need some more work but they are on tryouts so we shall see. Did you guys enjoy the zoo?" Adam asked as he pushed Jackson on the swings. "Yeah we had a great time. We will have to go again as a family next time though."

As they reentered the apartment Kim started making dinner for her family while the boys started to play a new game. The sound of laughter made Kim's heart sing. "Hey Kim? How about a walk together after dinner? Get some ice cream as a family?" Adam asked as Kim kept making dinner. It wasn't anything fancy since it wasn't a full kitchen like a home but they made due. "Sounds like a great idea! What do you think Jackson? Ice cream after dinner?" Kim asked watching him nodding before jumping up and down. It would be such a good night. Her little family was her everything. They made small talk about the zoo during dinner, Jackson filling him in on all the animals in the zoo.

During the walk they held hand while pushing Jackson stroller for when he got to tired to walk. Adam filled Kim in on his day. "Couple of the tryouts asked about your dancing last night and about the fact you know dancers. They wanted an introduction to the girls. Needless to say I told them no. I couldn't understand why you never told me about that part of your life but after today I get it. I could only imagine what would happen if everyone knew. But I do have to say I loved watching you dance. It was definitely hot and a huge turn on." Adam smirked at Kim as he brushed his shoulder against hers. "Well that is exactly why I kept it a secret. Jackson knew since he would come with some days that Nadia had class. But I'm proud that something I helped to create is enjoyed by millions of people every year. And it was a lot of fun last night. I sometimes forget that dancing can be fun. It doesn't have to be uptight. We should go dancing sometime together? It could be fun." Kim added as they arrived at the spot Adam had picked.

"Sounds like a great idea darling!" Adam added as they entered the shop. They were so happy with their little family that they didn't even notice people were taking photos of them. They ordered their favorite flavors and sat outside helping Jackson eat his without making a huge mess. As tried to eat by himself and dropped some on his outfit making a huge mess. They were having fun regardless of the mess. After strolling home they so,e Jackson in the shower and set his outfit into soak. After story time Jackson feel asleep quickly. Adam met Kim in the bathroom for their own shower time. They celebrated Kim's teaching assignment in the shower before moving the celebration to the bedroom. They briefly broke apart to redress before falling back into each other's arms to sleep.

The next morning was chaos to say the least. Everyone rushing to get ready to head to the first spring training game of the season. No one player would play the whole game but it was still a big deal. It was the beginning of the race to the next World Series. Back to back championships in Cubs history was unheard of so they were bound and determined to make it happen. The three all dressed in their Ruzek jerseys for the game. The arrived to see Kevin waiting out front for them. "Hey guys! I will show you to where you are sitting today. It's not fancy but it's roped off at least with security so it should be safe." Kevin walks them over to the seating area for the players families. It was in the shade and they had good views and that was enough for them. Some people were complaining but Kim was just happy to be relaxed and away from Chicago winters.

The game goes off without a hitch and Adam played the first three innings. His swing looked good and so did his throws. The increased workouts off season seemed to pay off. The wives and girlfriends on the other hand Kim could have done without. They were mostly snobs and that wasn't Kim's style at all. But she was polite the whole time. Although she didn't answer too many questions regarding her job. Jackson was there and he didn't need to know the horror of her job. So she answered vaguely and moved on. Finally the game was over and the family headed out to a Manatee Rehabilitation center to see the mammals and how they are being cared for. All in all it was a great day.

The rest of the week flew by so quickly. Before they knew it Kim and Jackson were heading home. They weren't thrilled about it but Kim had to return to work and she had to start preparing for a teaching assignment. Adam would be home in a month and that couldn't come soon enough. They had hope he would be able to make it home for her next appointment in two weeks, even if it was only for a day or two. Neither wanted him to miss the 20 week ultrasound. Even though they didn't want to know the sex it was still important to see each ultra sound. It was a magical moment that they both enjoyed immensely.

Once back in Chicago it seemed like the time was flying by so quickly. Intelligence has been crazy busy with cases and day offs seemed to be a thing of the past. While busy at work Kim had noticed a few missed calls from an unknown number on her personal cell. It was strange and after several attempts they had left a voice mail. Kim choose to listen to with Erin next to her just in case. "Who do you think it is?" Erin asked. "It's a local number so I don't know. Let head to the break room to listen to it." Kim offered as they headed in to find some privacy.

"Kim, this is Ellen Adams mother. I need to talk to him and he's not answering. Call me I really need his help." Kim and Erin looked at each other in shock. "Well that was unexpected. I'm not calling her back. That's not happening any time soon. Let's head back to work." Kim offered. She wasn't going to even justify this call she had other things to worry about. Life was crazy right now and Ellen was not a factor she had time for. Jay interrupted their moment by letting them know they got a lead on the current case. They were headed out in 5.

The raid went as planned and the case was finally closed. They finally all had a day off. Kim planned to spend the day one on one with Jackson. She woke early and headed down to make some breakfast after letting Champ out to run and use the bathroom. Jackson headed down about 30 minutes later, still looking half asleep. "Hey baby. Did you have a good sleep?" Kim sat down to hug him. "Yes mommy. What are we doing today?" He asked knowing they were spending the day together. "First be are going to eat some breakfast. Then how about we go to the trampoline park for a bit before lunch and nap time. Then after your nap we can skateboard for a bit before dinner. How does that sound?" Kim explained her thoughts. "Yes! I am happy we are together today." Jackson was so happy to spend the whole day with Kim. "Me too buddy. Let's gets going okay."

They got moving quickly wanted to get as much time together as possible. Kim didn't want Jackson to feel pushed aside with the new baby coming so she always made sure he knew he was a priority. After breakfast at their favorite diner they headed to the trampoline park which allowed both of them to bounce around for hours and not only burn off energy but get a good workout in as well. But it was a lot of fun for both of them. They would need to bring the Halstead's here sometime soon. Kim had no idea how much fun this place really was but she enjoyed it for sure. They headed home for lunch followed by nap time for Jackson while Kim worked on the laundry and working on the babies room.

After nap time they headed to the basement to practice skateboarding. Jackson loved skateboarding, especially since Adam loves it. He is definitely a daddy's boy. He is so proud of himself for how much better he has gotten and can't wait till spring to show off his moves outside at an actual skate park. Adam will have to be there for that. Kim couldn't wait to see his face when he saw Jackson at the park for the first time. She is going to need a camera to video this that's for sure. "Are you excited to show daddy your new moves?" Kim asked as he rolled past her. "Yeah. He will be happy. He is a good teacher. Will he be home soon?" Jackson asked as he kept rolling around. "Hopefully for the next doctors appointment. That's the plan at least. Should we make a little video now to send to daddy?" Kim asked as she pulled her phone out. "Yay!" Jackson yelled. It was a short video but they knew he would love it.

During dinner Kim's phone rang again. Realizing who it was she sent it to voicemail. She needed to talk to Adam about that before she did anything. Hopefully he would handle it since she wanted to talk to him anyway. A little bit later it rang again this time it was Adam. "Hey baby!" Kim answered. "Hey Darling! How's your day going? Did you close the case?" Adam answered and asked. "We had a great day off together. We went to the trampoline park and practiced skateboarding. It was nice not working today after that case finally closed last night. But your mom has been calling. I didn't call her back, she left a voicemail. Says you won't answer her calls." Kim explained as she heard him sigh. "Okay I will take care of her. But I'm glad the case closed and I'm glad you guys had fun today. I loved the video. Can I talk to Jackson?" Adam asked. "Absolutely. You guys talk I will take the dog out to potty." Kim handed the phone to Jackson as she took Champ outside.

It was still cold in Chicago so going out to walk the dog was horrible but at least the yard was fenced so she just had to watch him to make sure he did his business. Once inside she noticed Jackson was on the couch still on the phone telling Adam all about day care and his day. She laughed as cute he looked. They talked a bit longer before he gave the phone back. "I guess he was done." Kim laughed as she watched him head to watch tv. "I guess so. Anyway it looks like I will get the time off I need to come visit for your appointment." Adam adds knowing Kim would be excited. "That's great! I'm so happy to hear that. I can't wait to see you again. I love you so much!" Kim exclaimed! "I love you too darling! How is the little nugget today?" Adam asked laughing at Kim's excitement. "They are very active today but I think that's partly because I was on the trampoline too. I think they liked the bouncing." They both laughed at that.

"What's you were look like? I mean I know you don't know when a case will pop up but do you have plans for the week?" Adam asked. They always tried to keep each other in the know about scheduled events and appointments to help keep them connected. "Um well we have taser certification today but I don't think I can because I'm pregnant and then I also have firearm requal this week as week. Which I'm nervous about since I haven't fired my weapon in a bit since I'm on desk duty but Jay offered to go to the range with me to help practice a bit. What about you? Any interviews?" Kim knew she was busy but so was he with training so she really had lost track of his interviews and appearances. "No interviews thank god. Just practice and games. I have some class work I need to finish up but it's a pretty normal week. Some of the younger guys want to all go out drinking but I have no interest in that. At least not with them. They still think getting wasted before a game is okay. I can't deal with them." Adam wasn't old by any means but these guys took it too far. He couldn't be bothered.

They talked a bit longer before hanging up for the night. Kim wanting to get to bed early since the baby moving made it hard to sleep through the night. She got Jackson into bed and Champ slept next to the bed on the floor like normal before heading down to lock up and set the alarm. She hoped this week wouldn't kick her butt but she had a feeling it would. The weather getting warmer always brought out the crime. It was weird trend around the city, like all the crazies come out of hiding. Kim had to block that thought for now as she closed her eyes for some much needed sleep.
