Chapter Four:

The best laid out plans never survive the first encounter with the enemy. The same can be said regarding one's sanity when it comes to encounters with the horrors of and beyond the cosmos. Especially if it is either at a moment when the horror was or through circumstances that lead to someone making it angry.

Something that was very likely to make a good portion of the cosmic horrors, more specifically the Eldritch Entities who usually doesn't reside in realm of humanity, angry was attempting to summon them in order to bring harm to those in association with the Child of the Crawling Chaos, as young Hailey's antics had so far provided the Eldritch Entities with highly amusing entertainment, which they definitely would prefer to continue in order to witness what kind of chaos the offspring of Nyarlahotep would cause through her life in the realm of humanity. Perhaps she would drive someone insane by her mere presence, would she (like maybe other cosmic horrors) gain a cult, would she cause the collapse of a society? Those were just some of the more comprehensible curiosities that the Eldritch Entities both residing in and beyond the realm of humanity had regarding Hailey. Curiosities that made quite a few of them willing to make an investment in making sure that the Child of the Crawling Chaos would get the chance to grow, causing them to act in a way that could be seen as protective, something that was very unheard of in regards to cosmic horrors.

That protectiveness was what prompted the various entities to make use of their influence in the realm of humanity to sabotage whatever plans the human, if he still be called that after everything he's done to himself, Lord Voldemort had towards the Child of the Crawling Chaos and her adopted family. Making sure that whatever he tried to do would fail and backfire. That time Voldemort had one of his minions prepare what would have been a summon ritual? The entities used their Eldritch influence to turn the summon circle into a transportation circle set up to teleport the activators to the waters near the coastal town of Innsmouth. Letting Dagon, Mother Hydra and their offspring, the Deep Ones, take care of the pest that was Voldemort and some of his followers. Most of the followers managed to get away without anything major outside of developing a fear of water and fish. The same couldn't be said about Voldemort and the more disposable ones of his followers, who drowned due to the Deep Ones dragging them down into the abyss, wanting to use the opportunity to get fresh and forgetting that humans can't breathe under water in the heat of the moment. The defiled remains of Voldemort and his followers, or at least what was left of them, was found months later floating around near the coast of New York, much to the horror of the local authorities.

The news of the demise of Lord Voldemort quickly reached the ears of the British enclave of the Wizarding World, resulting in several days (and nights) of celebration. Something that young Hailey was blissfully unaware of as her and her parents' laughter echoed through her home as she catapulted a spoonful of dark brown baby food into the face of the man known as Peter Pettegrew.
