Midnight Murders of the Void

Chapter Three

Joseph needed to be sure that he was able to trust the big man having to be confused. "Do you mind telling me why you're here?" his hand was shaking from one of his daily tremors even though being controlled by medication.

"I was cold and tired of needing a place to stay for the night. I just haven't been able to remember anything since coming here, Joseph." Richard wiped his face with his hands.

"Are you hungry I can take you to the rectory of this church with the nuns about now is working on breakfast for those lost as well? What about it Richard?" Joseph will ask him as he watches the man move off the cot and the blanket.

"Yes, I am very hungry and thirsty as well." he alluded to Joesph opening the door to another section of the rectory as it was extremely quiet walking.

Meanwhile, Father John was giving his first service of the day with his altar boys helping out with the service.

Inside the rectory, there were five nuns with their assistants were helping with setting the six tables for those that will be coming in for their breakfast meal.

Sister Marie looked up to see Joseph with someone that she didn't know at all. "What's going on Joseph with the man that is with you?" she responded with the other nuns looking up at the large, six-foot man looking very disheveled.

"Richard needs our help with shelter, food, and mostly a long shower if possible. I know this is strange coming from me, Sister Marie?" he recanted with his statement and was concerned all of a sudden for the stranger.

"Alright, have him sit down at the table with breakfast to be ready in 15 minutes. Richard, are you thirsty?" Sister Marie needed to ask him to be helped by Joseph into a chair at one of the tables already set with the plates, glasses, and all of the other essentials.

"Thanks," Richard tells Joseph for helping him out with feeding and his shelter nevertheless.

Shaking his head briefly with his right hand from the tremors and his Parkinson's condition. "No problem, bro. Just be careful with those coming in from the streets to be eating as well that are just as bad as you," he grumbled under his breath. "I will be back to show you your quarters on the second floor, along with a long hot shower." He says walking away to start whatever work he has to do for the day.

Even though he will be back later. However, he needed to check his cell phone with the latest updated news and on the front cover was about the latest murder of a female body Eleanor cut to pieces as the report explained about the possible suspect arrested and breaking away from the jail cell.

The picture that they had given was of Richard even though poorly taken of him as it could be anyone fitting that description.

So he decided to continue with his work before coming back to help out Richard with his quarters and shower. Even though he will have to check the pantry upstairs for any clothes that just might fit him the ones he has now is soiled.

Taking the stairs to the next floor with several quarters for the nuns, and the father to be staying at the rectory. Joseph moved to the back of the floor where there was a pantry of donated items from the public.

Moving to the storage bin he was able to find several sizes of pants, shirts, and most of all sandals and a pair of black shoes which he hopes will be able to fit.

Found a bag inside the pantry in order to take it down to the same floor where everyone is having breakfast. All of a sudden he was hungry he decided to eat something depending on what was left.

Richard had been enjoying himself with the street people after feeding himself with scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast, coffee, juice, and most of all water. He was feeling much better overall both mentally and physically.

Joseph had come over as Robert was able to see him with a large bag of clothing. Richard will ask him the following. "What's all this Joseph? is this all for me by chance?"

"Yes, for you now that it's time to take you upstairs for a shower, change of clothing, and sack time for you. Understand me at all?"

It was at this particular time that Richard stopped dead in his tracks as he blanks out before having a quick flashback of an image of a woman with some brown and grey with it being somewhat short, She was talking to him about a baseball game somewhere at a place he might of having been at prior.

"What happens to you just now?" Joseph had cried out to really scare him somewhat.

"I really don't know as an image came into my brain in regard to a woman at some place that I might have stayed for a long time." Richard retorted with his eyes going back to normal.

"Maybe taking a shower might help you to remember further?" Joseph had to say with grabbing his hand cold to the touch. "Come on let's go upstairs."

Assisted Living of Westchester on 78th Strannon street of Yonkers.

Resident Theresa Delicot has only been at the place for almost seventh months. She had been concerned for her close friend Richard. She had spoken with those in charge of the place by calling in a missing person's report since he's been missing for over a week now.

The reason that she had been concerned was the fact that he had Parkinson's disease and other issues to cause permanent damage to his brain function.

She even had his sister Louise come speak to her about her brother. Theresa had been watching the news report about a recent murder in Yonkers of a woman married cut to pieces by someone with a blade. Photos from the security cameras had shown.

Theresa had received a call from Louise since her brother had told her about me. She was sitting outside in one of the chairs as a blue Sudan pulled up to be a woman 62 years old with all short hair.

She looks up to see the woman get out of the vehicle as a friend will drop her off and will call when she was ready to leave.

She came up to those sitting and including myself. "I am looking for Theresa Delicot?" she asked nice and calm.

"I am Theresa Delicot, how can I help you, ma'am?" Theresa had to say to the five feet 9-inch woman.

"I need to speak with you about my brother Richard disappearing for a little over a week," she tells her shaking all of a sudden.

"We can talk over there with better seats and talk in private about your brother," she responded by getting up with the walker to have Louise to be following her.
