Once the call ended, Fisk and his thugs climbed back into the car. They drove off while Miles began to formulate his plan. He figured the best course of action was to play as their helpless victim. It was the best way to make sure he got out alive. He needed them to underestimate him for his escape. For obvious reasons, Spider-Man wouldn't save the day.
Miles didn't know how long they had been driving. However, the car eventually stopped. Miles heard the car trunk opening, and they finally removed the bag from his head. He noticed the sun was starting to rise.
Miles got tossed over one of the goon's shoulders. He looked around, trying to take in his surrounding. It was the woods. Perfect. It will make my escape easier. He examined his surroundings as he was carried farther from the car.
He heard a heavy door swing open. "Tie him up," Fisk ordered. They slammed Miles into a chair. Someone cut through the ducktape while another goon held him in the chair. His wrists are behind his back. Before they could do something to his ankles, Miles kicked out his foot. He hit one of the goons in the nose.
The victory was short-lived. One of the goons hit Miles in the stomach. The other one held the chair to keep it from moving. Ow, that hurt. I'm going to have a nasty bruise for a while. "Careful," Fisk said. "We only need you alive for bargaining. We might not even need you for that."
With that, they crossed Miles's ankles. They tied his ankles together and connected his ankles to a chair. The gag in his mouth was left untouched. He figured he wouldn't be able to breathe if they tightened it anymore. He immediately began to fidget with the ropes on his wrist.
"What do we do now?" a goon asked.
"We wait," Fisk said. "We'll keep an eye on the police. Davis has probably gone straight to his police friends. They're going to track the phone, but I left it on the side of the road. When he meets are demands, we'll send him the correct address."
"What if they don't hand over the new Spider-Man?" the same goon asked.
"They will," Fisk said. "I know Davis will. I know the police weren't good with the old Spider-Man. They hated him almost as much as I did. Some of that hatred had to have transferred to the new Spider-Man. Officer Davis, I believe, is closer to this Spider-Man, but if it comes to his son or Spider-Man, I know who he'll pick."
