Jaune felt like he was standing in front of a kangaroo court as the entirety of Team RWBY as well as his team, plus Qrow leaning against the wall.
After their encounter with Zemo they had returned and Ruby and Weiss had Jaune explain to everyone the actual events of what had happened in the time that he had disappeared. His experience with the other Weiss, his meeting with the Collective, how he had to fight for his life (though he didn't say against whom) and how he had suddenly returned only to now find out he had a daughter with the other Weiss he didn't know about.
"Okay so let me get this straight! You went to another world, met another Weiss, slept with her, had to fight for your life on the orders of a powerful organization that exists in many worlds and just discovered you and the other Weiss had a kid…WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US!" Nora yelled out.
The ever so calm Ren stood beside her and simply placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Nora, listen to everything he has just listed. Could you honestly blame him, what would you say on first glance if you heard that story" Ren told her.
Nora wanted to react, but remained uncharacteristically silent as the entire revelation set into her. Blake and Yang looked at Jaune with their arms crossed as Weiss stood in the back in complete silence, with Ruby sitting right next to him.
"I can't believe you went through so much…it must have been so difficult for you. And to keep all of this a secret for so long…I'm so sorry for intruding on you the way we did" Ruby said as she placed her hand on Jaune's.
"It's okay Ruby," Jaune sighed as he looked at her "you would've found out sooner or later. But all of this just sounds ridiculous without of context. Would you have believed me if I told you about an evil organization spanning multiple worlds."
Nora laughed "I would've thought you've gone nuts" she said, earning her a glare from Ren and she immediately piped down.
"Well it does sound out there, but then again we're fighting the immortal queen of the Grimm, there are weirder things out there" Yang noted casually as she leaned against the wall.
"What do you know about this organization?" Qrow suddenly asked, as he stood up and walked towards the table Jaune was sitting at.
"Uhm….not much honestly I only met a few of its members…" Jaune mumbled out.
"Then who did you meet Jaune?" Qrow asked a bit more direct.
Jaune was surprised by Qrow's sudden tone, the man had been aloof and withheld the entire time he had known him and even in this very conversation he hadn't spoken a word until now and it kind of threw him off guard.
"Uhm…you're probably not going to believe me…" Jaune mumbled holding his head down.
"Try me!" Qrow said defiantly "after everything you've told us I reckon nothing can surprise me."
Jaune sighed and rubbed his eyes. The entire night had been one downwards spiral of uncertainty and confusion and revelations. First Zemo's revelation to him about Jaune and other Weiss' daughter, and now having to come clean to his entire team, his friends about all that he had experienced.
In his head he was weighing the possibilities of what he should tell. Should he tell them about Thanos, the Collective's leader. Or how he fought Adam…how would Blake react to learn that her former partner and lover, in spite of all his cruelty, was now dead. On one hand it was better to throw it all out on the table now that the moment was right, but on the other hand how would telling them this affect them.
"One of the members," Jaune said sighing as his head turned towards Yang "is Raven Branwen."
Qrow solemnly closed his eyes as Yang stepped forward with a shock expression exclaiming a loud "WHAT!?" followed by a "You can't be serious! My mother is part of that group."
Jaune could only nod as Qrow intervened "calm down Yang, yelling is not going to solve anything," he said before turning to Jaune "are you sure it was this Raven, considering you got close and intimate with another Weiss."
"She recognized me…it was her…" Jaune simply nodded before turning his gaze towards Blake "and also….Adam was also a part."
Blake's expression fell completely. A face of complete disbelief became ever present on her and Jaune didn't know what to say to make it feel any better.
"You mean to tell me that bastard Adam Taurus along with my mother is part of an evil organization! That doesn't make any sense!" Yang yelled once more.
"Yang calm down!" Qrow almost yelled as well as he stood in front of her "let him just tell his story we can all freak out about it later!"
Blake stepped forward to the table, right across from Jaune and she asked.
"What happened to him! Did you encounter him?"
Jaune knew he needed to tell her. As painful as it was, hiding it from her would only cause more pain and disruption down the road.
"I….I was made to fight him and…." Jaune said as Blake's eyes began to water "I won but….he tried to kill me and…Weiss she saved me…"
Blake's hand clasped over her mouth as tears welled up in her eyes.
"I'm sorry Blake I didn't mean for any of this to happen" Jaune said, feeling himself on the verge of tears as well. Blake didn't respond instead turning around and swiftly running out of the room.
"Blake wait!" Yang yelled as she ran after her partner.
Jaune buried his face in his hands, shame overwhelmed him intensely as he just saw how badly he had hurt his friend. He knew Adam's death wasn't his fault and the bull Faunus was no angel and probably got what he deserved, but part of Jaune felt like he could've avoided it. If he hadn't spoken out or tried to attack the Collective's leader…then maybe…
"Did you meet the leader?" Qrow asked.
"Uncle Qrow I think he has enough" Ruby protested.
Qrow ignored her and placed his hands on the table right before Jaune "look Jaune this is very important and I need you to tell me everything that you know about this organization…it's name, it's members all that you may know it is crucial so please you have to tell me right this instant."
Jaune was sobbing and didn't know how to respond, Ruby stood in front of him and Weiss remained standing against the wall, keeping a straight face all throughout this.
"Uncle Qrow don't you think this has gone too far, Jaune has gone through a lot and what we've just been told has already upset Blake and Yang. Please understand…"
"No Ruby it's fine," Jaune finally spoke as he stood up, moving a few feet from the table his head still down "they call themselves the Collective…and their leader…I can barely describe him but…he terrified me and in all honestly…I think he could be more dangerous than Salem…"
Ruby gasped, and Weiss's face finally showed expressions as she moved from her spot. Jaune stood near the window gazing outside, hearing the sound of Qrow's footsteps as he stepped forward.
"What's his name Jaune?" he asked.
Jaune stared outside for a moment, the fresh memories of the day he met the Collective's leader now searing into him. Although the meeting had been brief, the impact it held on him was one that made him feel afraid on a level he hadn't known before. A level to which even Salem couldn't compare.
"His name….is Thanos" Jaune finally answered.
Ruby saw her uncle's eyes widen in shock and surprise before she turned her gaze back to Jaune, wanting to step forward and help him in that moment.
"Girls," Qrow started "I think it's best we leave Jaune be for a while. Let him get some rest and gather his thoughts" the man of misfortune spoke as he turned around and left the room as well, leaving Jaune, Ruby and Weiss behind.
As soon as Qrow was out of sight and a good distance away from everyone, he fumbled into his pocket. Producing what seemed like a scroll like device. The silver colored device flipped open and he touched the screen of numbers before him, before placing the device to his ear.
"Yes?" a voice on the other end spoke.
"Megumi, this is Qrow….I think they might be closer then we feared" Qrow spoke up slowly, his head down and his tone one of worry and uncertainty.
