Summary: You'll just have to read to find out what happens...

Disclaimer: I do not own Star Wars.

After stealthily raiding the armory for explosives, Fennec and Joshua snuck outside and started planting them on the large fuel tanks. "So," Joshua said, "What's new?" Fennec shrugged, "Not much," she stated, "I'm second in command to Tatooine's new Daimyo and I got married." Her brother chuckled quietly, "I always knew you'd be more than just a bounty hunter." he said. Fennec rolled her eyes, "There," she said, "I've planted the last thermal detonator, let's get out of here."

They ran, taking out any gaurds that got in their way. They got to a bridge that stretched across a small ravine. They barely made it a few steps before they were cornered by stormtroopers at either end of the bridge. An Imperial officer stepped foward, "Tell the assassin to lower her weapon." he said to Joshua. "She's not an assassin, she's my sister." Joshua stated, nodding at Fennec to lower her blaster. Fennec was surprised when he pulled her into a hug, and even more surprised that the Imperials didn't shoot them. "Listen to me Fennec, father is alive. But he is not a good man, he is dangerous and untrustworthy. I love you sis, and I need you to know that what's about to happen is not your fault. Be brave, be strong, like you've always been. Tell Lena and the kids that I love them." Joshua whispered. "What-" Fennec started to ask, but there wasn't time. "Goodbye, sister." Joshua said, then he pushed her over the railing of the bridge. She fell, then she hit the side of the ravine and tumbled down it, landing in the snow. It took her a moment, but she managed to stand up. Adrenaline and the cold were numbing the pain from any injuries she had gotten. She looked up to the bridge at the sound of blaster fire. Joshua really was dead now, she knew it. She started to run, away from the bridge, when she heard the first explosion. More explosions followed. Hopefully, they would distract the Imperials, at least for a little while. She saw an abandoned cabin up ahead and stopped there to catch her breath. There was a steep downhill slope, and at the bottom was the abandoned settlement where she had landed the ship. A howl pierced the air and sent chills down Fennec's spine. The Imperials must've had trained snow hounds. She grabbed a piece of metal siding that appeared to have fallen off the cabin and used it like a sled. She was almost to the bottom when the metal siding, and herself, hit a bump and were sent flying. Fennec fell hard into the snow but scrambled back up almost immediately. She ran in between the abandoned houses and straight to the ship. Maneuvering her way in to the pilots seat certainly didn't help her injuries, but she could worry about that later. The moment the ship cleared the atmosphere Fennec punched in the coordinates for Tatooine and pulled the hyperspace lever.

Fennec's mind was racing, going over all the facts. Her brother was dead, again. She was pretty sure she had bruised ribs. Her father was alive and apparently dangerous and untrustworthy. Yep, she definitely had bruised ribs, and her shoulder really hurt too. The cold still hadn't left her bones when she set down in the palace hanger. She walked down the boarding ramp and was immediately engulfed in a hug from Boba, but he pulled away when she winced. "You're hurt, let's get you to a medical droid." he said. Fennec didn't argue, just followed him in something of a daze, her mind was still trying process everything. The medical droid poked, prodded, and scanned her. Ultimately giving her painkillers and ordering her to spend an hour in the bacta pod, then she'd be on bed rest for at least the next twenty-four hours. Boba didn't ask about her brother, which meant he'd either figured things out on his own, or was waiting for her to bring it up. Either way, she was relieved to not have to talk about it right away.

After her hour in the bacta pod, Fennec was comfortably propped up in bed. Boba walked in, "I brought you some dinner." he said, setting the tray down on the bedside table, "You okay?" he asked as he sat down on the bed. Fennec took a breath, "Well, I found my brother, only to loose him again. Oh, and I found out that my father is alive. But apparently he's dangerous and untrustworthy, that's what Joshua said and I believe him. But, I still have you, so I guess I'm doing pretty good." she said. Boba smiled and leaned in, placing a gentle kiss on her cheek, "Just let me know if there's anything else I can do for you." he said. "Well there is one thing..." Fennec said, then she patted the empty space next her, "I could use some company." Boba smiled and moved to sit on her other side. Fennec instantly leaned against him. "You should eat." Boba stated, "I know," Fennec said, "But I've got a lot on my mind. I'm going to have to call Lena at some point and break the news that Joshua's dead, again. I'm not going to go looking for my father, but if he's heard about what happened with the Pykes then he might come looking for me." "If he comes, then I will make sure that he doesn't come anywhere near this palace or you." Boba said. "You know that's not exactly a promise you can make." Fennec stated. Boba shrugged, "I know, but I can try," he said, "Now please, eat your dinner" Fennec chuckled and grabbed the tray. For now, she was just going to enjoy being safe within the walls of the palace. She could worry about everything else tomorrow.

A/N: I struggled on the ending for this, but I ultimately decided on this version. I know, I was cruel, killing Fennec's brother. But I love emotionally tormenting my favorite characters. I would've published it yesterday but something came up. Anyway, suggestions are welcome but please keep them in the K or K plus rating. I apologize for any grammar mistakes. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
