CHAPTER NINETY-SIX
Thumping sounded on top of the Volvo. Angry muffled shouting was heard. Tsukumo craned his neck up, staring at the roof.
Then he punched the roof, causing RipFang to go silent for a second, before resuming his struggles.
Percival sighed. "I wish I could shut him up."
Hana coughed, grabbing their attention. "I can turn into mist and taunt him or something."
Tsukumo shrugged. "Eh…not worth it."
Akeno started snoring.

Yarkuzi held K'Tun Sanathi's mummified body with both hands, following the two lizards holding the spear. "Can I ask what your names are? I believe I haven't formally introduced myself. I'm Yarkuzi WildWind."
They looked back at her, smiling. The pale blue one spoke. "My name is Blue Azalea. The other one is Ruby Carnation. But…he got his tongue cut out. That's why he hasn't said anything yet."
Yarkuzi stared at Ruby Carnation. "I'm so sorry to hear that! That must've been awful!"
Ruby Carnation hefted the spear, leaning it against his shoulder. Blue Azalea still held the other end, feathers twitching on top of her head.
Ruby Carnation started miming something with his hands. The other spoke for him. "He's saying that it happened so long ago that it doesn't even hurt anymore. Worse things could've happened, but me and Jaded Komodo broke him out."
Ruby Carnation nodded, pleased that his message was translated. He picked up the spear again, and he and Blue Azalea started descending again.
They reached the room where the two Samurai statues still stood. But they were inactive, their cores sitting beside them.
One was missing it's head. And had a huge gash across it's chest. The other looked relatively intact. A small hole was in the middle of it's chest.
Red Carnation blinked up at them, then pointed at Yarkuzi, tilting his head.
Yarkuzi laughed nervously. "Aha…they had to come in here and retrieve the spear. Looks like the Samurai tried to stop them."
Blue Azalea tugged on the spear, prompting Red Carnation to keep moving.
Yarkuzi followed them through one of the doors, through another and into the main chamber.
The two lizards walked forward, bowing briefly and shaking their head feathers. Then they walked up onto the dais, where the painting was still split in half.
They lifted the spear and put it into the groove meant for it.
Red Carnation clicked the hidden button on the painting, and it slid closed.
Yarkuzi moved forwards, bowing respectfully before stepping up onto the dais. She place the mummified body down, and Blue Azalea started chanting.
The chains hanging from the ceiling started swinging, before they wrapped around K'Tun Sanathi, entrapping her.
Her palms started glowing, before she summoned several blue talismans. They attached themselves to the body, effectively completing the sealing process.
The room started shaking, and Blue Azalea grabbed Red Carnation's wrists, dragging him along. Yarkuzi followed them out of the room just as the door slammed shut.
She panted, a grin on her face. "What's life without a little excitement?"
Blue Azalea gawked at her, lilac purple eyes wide with shock.
Red Carnation smiled and shook his head, red tail swishing along the ground, stirring up dirt.
Yarkuzi sneezed, then started heading to the room with the Samurai. She picked up one of the cores, hefting it under one arm, and started climbing the statue, finding nicks and ledges to grab onto.
Reaching it's chest, Yarkuzi wedged the core back into the stone Samurai. It's eyes flashed, turning green as it started to move.
Yarkuzi leaped off, backing up. But the Samurai did not attack her. It simply went to stand in front of one of the doors. The door slid shut.
The two lizards scrambled through the other door, as it started closing.
'Huh. Even though the other Samurai hasn't been reactivated yet…if one door closes the other will too.' Yarkuzi smiled. 'Genius engineering. I'd love to meet whoever build this tomb.'
Blue Azalea helped Red Carnation sit down, then grabbed the other core. She clambered up the stone Samurai like an expert, placing the core into the gash in the chest, frowning at the space where it's head should be. "How undignified."
The Samurai creaked, coming to life. But it stumbled, as it tried to find it's guarding position.
Blue Azalea clung on, talking to the Samurai. "Just two more steps, then turn around!"
The Samurai did what is was told, standing in front of the door it guarded.
Blue Azalea hopped off, as this room started shaking too.
Everyone dashed out as the door slid shut. Previous wards that had sealed the door sprung to life. Glowing Hieroglyphics covered the door. Unreadable.
Yarkuzi clapped her hands. "Thanks for all the help! I really appreciate it!"
Red Carnation clasped his hands together, bowing. Blue Azalea smiled at him. "I'm sure he's grateful too. Let's go, Red Carnation. You need some rest. And the others are waiting for us."
Together, they left the tomb.
True to her word, three other milled around by the tomb. When they saw Yarkuzi and them leave, they started chanting, and the rounded door rolled closed, glowing as it was sealed once again.
Yarkuzi shook everyone's hands. "Thanks for everything. I have to bring my friends back to our Agency now. They're weary and tired."
They waved, and Yarkuzi headed towards her Volvo. It was dusty and muddy, and stained with blood. Then of course there was the vines wrapped around it, holding RipFang in place.
He was struggling, glaring at her.
Yarkuzi ignored the daggers being sent in her direction*, and got into her Volvo. 'Geez. I gotta give my precious a bath when we get back.'
Percival watched her as she shut the door, and turned on the engine. He looked tired as well, slumping in the seat.
Yarkuzi looked back at everyone. They stared silently back at her.
"Everyone's ready for some rest huh? Let's get moving then. Next stop, Red Dusk Agency Our home sweet home!"
