"Ollie? Can you tell us where you got those earrings, exactly?" Rosie asked.
Ollivander nodded. "On my thirteenth birthday. I just got my ears pierced when..."
"Hey, good for you!" Luigi pat Ollie on the head. "What pair you want?"
"Child..."
Ollivander turned around. There was an elderly woman standing behind him. She had porcelain hair and salmon skin. She wore an azure blue dress and her lapis eyes showed that there was a lot of life still left in her.
"Child...I am sorry to hear what happened to your family." She seemed upset, like she was supposed to prevent it.
"It's fine." Ollivander's happy tone grew to be upset as well. "Really." He was lying.
The woman held up a pair of emerald earrings. "Take these, child. You will find that they will come in handy."
Ollie accepted them and the two pairs of clip-ons.
"Wait, child!" She held up one more pair of earrings. They were silver and shaped like stars. "Give this to a very special friend. These will guide your way, child."
He grabbed them and shoved them in his pocket as well. "Alright."
"Thank you, child. May the stars guide your path."
She walked out and Ollivander noticed that he forgot to thank her.
"Wait, Ma'am-!" She was gone. As old as she was, Ollivander knew she couldn't have walked off that quickly. But she was gone.
He had tried to find any news of her but alas, it was like she had never existed. He had tried to remember her, but soon forgot. Until Rosalina asked about his earrings.
"I never saw, or heard about her again." Ollivander sat up, because as he talked, he got comfortable and started leaning on the table. "What did she mean by 'May the stars guide your path'? It was weird."
Ollivander's earrings started glowing. He left them on the table so he could see if they ever did. He put them on. His eyes changed back to a sky blue.
"...Luigi?"
Luigi recognized that voice. It was his brother. "Mario!" They hugged. "I've missed you!"
