Ollivander found himself standing in a familiar forest clearing. He's been there before all the time when he was younger. The touched the forcefield and a ripple appeared and spread across the surface of the periwinkle barrier. Hm..."
"This forest...I used to come here all the time with Olexa." He spotted a very specific tree. "I wonder if the treehouse is still there..."
He picked up a big stick and banged it against the barrier. Twice, thrice, nothing happened, just more and more ripples erupting from the impact point. Hw took off the earrings, and ended up back in Luigi's room again, with Luigi and Rosalina staring worriedly at him.
"I know where Mario is." Ollivander stood. "We've got to get to him, now!"
"What's the rush?" Rosalina asked, dashing after Ollivander as he left the building.
"I need...to get there." Ollivander jumped over a fence.
Luigi and Rosalina stopped. "That forest is off-limits!" Luigi shouted.
Ollivander stopped at the tree he spotted earlier. There was a treehouse, falling apart but still well, wrapped in the branches of the tree. He climbed the latter and found an emerald necklace that matched his earrings. He jumped off, slashing his lower leg on a branch on his way down.
He limped over to the barrier, leaving a trail of blood behind him. "Mario, I'm here to save you!"
Don't touch the outside! Mario tried to say, but the words could not penetrate the shield.
Ollivander grabbed the emerald on his necklace, and whispered "Don't worry, Olexa. You'll come back." as he did. He put a hand on the barrier and Mario flinched. His earrings and necklace were glowing in a almost blinding white light. His hair floated up and the barrier rippled on Ollivander's side as well. Ollie's eyes started glowing emerald green.
Mario grabbed the stick and smashed it against the border.
"Do it again!" Ollivander said, winching from pain.
"Ollivander! What are you doing?!" Luigi and Rosalina finally caught up.
Ollivander closed his eyes, still in pain. "S-saving...Mario..."
Mario slammed the stick into the barrier once more, and it fell to pieces.
Luigi gasped. "Mario!"
Rosalina joined Ollivander. "You're in pain! Luigi, he's hurt!"
She showed Luigi Ollivander's hand. It was burned to the point where the top layer of skin had been pulled off. Luigi covered his mouth in shock.
"Mario, we need some water!" Luigi ran off to got get something to cool the burn.
"Wh-how did you live?" Mario asked.
"Hm...?" Ollivander fixed his bangs, as they had fallen away from his face. "I lived but got burned."
"Everybody, except you, died from that forcefield. They just...evaporated." Mario mimicked sparkles floating into the air with his hands by flicking his fingers and moving his arms upwards.
"Rosie, it hurts." Ollivander resisted the urge to put his hand into a fist to cover the pain.
"Luigi went to get water!" Rosalina turned Ollivander's face toward her. "You'll be alright, Ollie."
"Rosie...I want to tell you something."
"Hm? What's the matter?"
"I...I like you. A lot."
Her face turned red. "Like...you...like like me?"
"Yeah...I like like you." Ollivander felt his own face get hot. "I wanted to tell you but I always ended up really awkward in my...made up scenarios." He laughed, loudly. "...sorry."
"Well, maybe I like like you too." She smiled at him. "When I first saw you, I thought you were...kind of cute."
Luigi came back holding a cup of water. "I got it!" He poured it on Ollivander's hand. It hurt an exceptionally large amount. More than Ollie had expected, anyways. "I got bandage for your leg, too."
Ollivander wrapped it the cut on his leg. "Thank you, but I don't think I should use this leg for a while until it heals."
The three helped him stand. Luigi wrapped his arm around his friend. "Let's go home."
