A/N: Hello! I promised an update soon, and here it is. I know it's short, but I want to write ahead so I don't create any inconsistencies like I had when I was younger. I know the reviews I get expressed a lot of confusion on my writing. Anyways, thank you guys for the support!
Tsuna was headed towards Kokuyoland, being tailed by her brother.
"We gotta find Kyoya and stop him from going in blind!" Tsunaru told him.
He nodded. "Also, we need to find out who's behind all these attacks." Ieyasu stated.
Tsunaru agreed. They stopped in front of the rundown amusement park.
"Hey!" came a voice from down the sidewalk.
"Yamamoto?!" Tsunaru screeched. Looking beside him, they saw another figure. "Gokudera?!"
"That's right, Sawada-hime." He stopped and panted before straightening. "I couldn't let my future bosses go in alone. It's too dangerous. Although, I don't know why the baseball freak is here." Yamamoto just laughed as if it were a compliment.
"I'm here for the same reason. But I don't get why he calls you two 'boss' or 'Hime'."
"We have to hurry. Kyoya is still in there." Ieyasu cut in, preventing any more questions.
"I thought the bastard could take care of himself." Gokudera scoffed.
"He's still a civilian, strong or not." Tsunaru replied. "So are you two. What are you two doing here anyways?"
"Wherever you go, I go too. As your second hand man, I cannot allow you two to go by yourselves." Gokudera piped up.
"I don't get what's going on at all. I just followed Gokudera because he mentioned that you were in trouble."
"Only in passing! Doesn't mean you had to follow, stupid juggler! Why did you follow me anyways?!"
"Guys, we need to go. We can't leave Hibari-san in there without backup!" Ieyasu said, stepping in. The other three nodded in unison.
They walked past the gate with caution, scanning the area for danger. They barely made it halfway when Yamamoto fell through a hole that was covered by an illusion. Tsunaru was worried for Takeshi whereas Ieyasu thought about the implications of the fact that there was an illusionist in the area, and by the looks of it, a very powerful illusionist.
"Yamamoto-kun! Are you alright?!" Tsunaru yelled down the hole.
"I'm fine!" he replied. He landed on both his feet. It was a long fall, so his legs were a little sore, but it wasn't a big deal. He looked around, but it was completely dark with the exception with some vines and leaves. Squinting into the darkness, he saw movement. He kept an eye on it, but it jumped out at him. He dodged quickly.
"My boss is gonna be very happy to see you taken down, byon."
"Yamamoto Takeshi!" Reborn's voice boomed, getting everyone's attention. Yamamoto looked up and saw Reborn's silhouette standing at the edge of the hole. He threw down a baseball bat and Yamamoto caught it.
"Haha! It's a baseball bat!" Yamamoto shouted back.
"That's right! Swing it fast enough, and it will help with your fight. If you still know how to play." Reborn taunted. As if Yamamoto needed any more conviction.
"All right!" he cheered.
"Ha! It won't matter if you have a weapon! You'll have to hit me first, byon!" Ken laughed maniacally. "Cheetah Channel!" he yelled as he slipped on his teeth.
Yamamoto could see the rippling of the muscles and physiology begin to change in Ken, giving him sharper claws and teeth, and longer ears. Ken lunged at him, forcing Yamamoto to jump out of the way. Ken stuck to the shadows, circling Yamamoto, while he himself stayed in the center of the hole. Yamamoto waited for Ken's attack when it finally came. Ken used his sharpened nails to swipe at him from the shadows. Yamamoto was caught off guard and could only dodge by chance. Ken retreated back into the shadows before doing the same thing once again. Yamamoto was ready for the attack this time, swinging the bat. It changed midway into a sword and sliced into Ken's side.
"You guys can go on. I'll catch up." Yamamoto smiled, but it wasn't the usual warm smile.
"But-" Tsunaru protested.
"Please have faith in me." Yamamoto knew that his words would work.
Tsunaru knew that he was manipulating her feelings, but she would respect his wishes. She only nodded, and asked everyone to continue to the building. Before she left, she yelled "you better return in one piece!"
A smile found its way to his face, the first real one in a while. He responded with enthusiasm before returning his attention to his opponent.
"Sawada-hime, was it really a good idea to leave him there?" Gokudera asked.
"I choose to believe in him, just as he wished. He doesn't want to hold back when we could be searching for Hibari-san," Tsunaru replied. Ieyasu, seeing his sister's expression, held her hand and gave it a squeeze. Tsuna smiled up at him, grateful for the comfort.
They had just stepped into the building when they were once again attacked. Needles landed where they had just stood. His defining features were his glasses and his barcode tattoo on his cheek.
"Who are you, you bastard?" Gokudera growled.
"It's rude to not introduce yourself first."
The speaker jumped out from the second floor of the dilapidated building. It was revealed to be former troupe member Kakimoto Chikusa.
"Chikusa-kun?" Tsuna asked for confirmation. "What happened to you? Why do you have that strange tattoo on your face?"
Chikusa turned his attention to her. He was as straight-faced as ever, not revealing anything. He opened his mouth to say something, but decided against it. Not missing a beat, he attacked Gokudera with his yo-yos again.
"Sawada-hime! Get back!" Gokudera yelled as he dodged the attack. "Get out of here. He's only after me. You go on and I'll meet up after I blow up this bastard to kingdom come!"
"As if you'll get that lucky…" Chikusa retorted before launching another frontal attack.
""Goku–"
"GO!" he yelled, cutting Ieyasu off. They made eye contact, then nodded to each other. He pulled his sister's wrist and dragged her along. Tsuna knew what had to be done, and allowed it.
"We need to start somewhere… Where would Hibari-sempai be?"
The hall to their right was filled with smoke followed by the sound of part of the wall collapsing. It sounded like a bomb went off, but Gokudera was still battling outside. They made their way into the smoke to investigate. They saw the end of a tonfa headed towards them, and split at the last moment, dodging the attack from the assailant.
"Hibari-sempai?!" Tsuna screeched. "Stop! Stop! It's us! It's Ieyasu and Tsunaru!"
The smoke settled, and they could see the state he was in. Tattered uniform, thin scratch marks with blood oozing out of them in various places… He swayed, and the twins walked up to support him, but he swiped at them again. The twins jumped back to avoid the attack.
"Stop fighting. We need to get to the hospital." Ieyasu iterated. Hibari's eyebrows only knit at the statement.
"No. I need to defeat him. Move, before I punish you both." he growled out.
"Fine, but we'll go with you." Ieyasu offered. Hibari looked from his determined face to Tsuna's worried and frightened one.
"Hn."
He walked off with his school jacket on his shoulder fluttering behind him. The twins shrugged and decided that was his way of saying that he didn't care either way, then trailed after him.
Please leave a review; I love hearing what you guys have to say!
