Target 421 - The Sun Shines Even in Winter

- Well then. - Reborn started sitting on his student's table and crossing his legs with elegance, Leon soon jumping on his lap and receiving affection from his owner. - About what you want to talk?

Sawada Tsunayoshi swallowed hard, looking away, when the assassin behaved like that, it made him no longer just a baby, but a real intimidating adult, worthy of the title of The World's Strongest Hitman.

Of course the tutor would do nothing to facilitate this conversation.

- Actually, I… Eeeeh… - He put his hand on the back of his head, not sure how to continue, never really had a hard time talking to Reborn before, even when they argued over the Representative Battle, which Reborn didn't want him to participate in, he ended up somehow convincing him in the end.

Which wouldn't happen this time, though. So it was up to him now to either agree with his tutor about the girls, or stick to his point until the end, even if it meant more bickering.

He shivered slightly, not liking this situation at all. He tried to look at the other, wondering what to do, but he remained motionless in his position, but more than that, there was something that didn't fit the scene and only served to distract him.

- Can you take off this bird costume? I can't take you seriously like thAaaaah! - He yelled when, by very little, dodging a shot.

- You should always take me seriously, Useless-Tsuna, no matter what I'm wearing. - He warned frowning dangerously.

- Hiiiie! I know I know! - He raised his hands in surrender. - It's just, it's weird having a serious conversation with you dressed as a partridge.

Reborn snorted, but still got up, ready to take off his costume, which indicated a certain effort due to the size of his arms.

Which made the brunette take a step forward, awkwardly.

- I… hmmm… Can I help you? - He questioned insecure, remembering how much it had cost the Hitman to accept and ask for help for him and Dino to represent him in the Battle of the Arcobalenos. - I-I know you can do it yourself! - He added when he saw the smaller's frowning face. - It's just… I want to be able to help you sometimes… Too?

Tsuna allowed himself to swallow hard in front of those eyes that sometimes seemed so expressionless, but he remained firm in his position.

- I-I mean, you always do so much for me, and I never-

- Your stubbornness helped to break the curse, Tsuna. - Reborn interrupted in a tone that almost seemed impatient. - If it weren't for your headstrong, I probably wouldn't even be here right now.

- But I didn't really do much! If it weren't for Mr. Talbot and Mr. Kawahira, I wouldn't...!

- Do not devalue the few merits you have, Useless-Tsuna. Listen well because I won't say it again. - He lifted his head, their gazes meeting. - I had already given up on my life at that moment, but you didn't. There is no greater help than reminding someone who has given up that their life is still worth living.

If he allowed himself to blush at those words, he never imagined hearing something like that from Reborn, no matter how much he knew his tutor was grateful for what he had done.

Honestly, he'd dismissed the importance of his own actions after he'd just walked away as if their relationship in nearly two years was nothing.

- You did the same for me. - He offered, gathering all his courage, making the older one raise an eyebrow in curiosity. - Because you, since you became my tutor, did the same for me. I-I mean, it reminded me that my life was worth, n-not that I'd given up on living! It's just that I... I was just... Watching the days go by until I met you, but since you came, I got my first friends, who I now consider my family. So… What made me most apprehensive when you left is that I never really had the opportunity to thank you for everything you've done for me, so… - He took a deep breath, trying hard to get over all his insecurity that always chained him.

Without realizing it, his eyes began to glow orange even though there was no flame on his forehead. A detail that did not go unnoticed by the eldest.

-...Even though I may be just another job you were hired to do. - He said remembering what the other had said the day before. - I really, really already see you as part of my family too, so… - And he leaned in ninety degrees, his hands firmly straight at his sides. - Thank you for being my tutor, Reborn!

The silence lasted longer than Tsuna found comfortable, while he was still bent over, extremely red with embarrassment, staring at the floor.

Which made it impossible for him to see the smile on the Sun's face, as sincere as the one given on the roof of the hospital, when it had been his turn to thank him.

- "For being your tutor"? - Repeated Reborn returning to his usual arrogant expression. - Why do you speak in the past if I still have a lot to teach you, Useless-Tsuna, don't think you'll get rid of me so fast.

- I really hope not. - The brunette confessed with such sincerity that it made the Sun blink. - But you'll leave one day, won't you? - There was a lot of sadness in his words, but also a hint of conformism that for some reason irritated the Hitman. - I honestly don't like to think about it, but it's inevitable, isn't it...?

"Especially if I don't become Neo Primo." - He thought with regret.

-...But I think that's what family means, isn't it? - The youngest was clearly uncomfortable. - People who are connected to you in some way, and who we will always love, but who eventually go their own way and forget about you.

- That's definitely not what family means. - He put it in a harsher tone than usual making the brunette finally get up to face the older confused. - Where did you learn this? - And when the Hitman seemed to come to his own conclusion alone, he just snorted.. - Forgets.

- I… - Tsuna said insecurely. - Did I say something strange? I mean, it's okay that you don't consider me family either! I just… - He swallowed hard. - I wanted you to know that even when you leave, if you want to, if you need to, at least… If it's up to me, there's always a place for you to come back… Kind of like this is your home too, isn't it?

He definitely didn't imagine the conversation would take this turn.

He didn't exactly know how to react to contrary statements, which was something to point out, as this was an unusual occurrence given his training as a professional assassin, so he chose to keep his expression neutral.

He knew that brunette was very attached to him, but he didn't like his departure statement to be understood as something normal and expected, that his student had an irritating conformism was common knowledge, but he didn't imagine that his previous words would affect him so much.

Who in their right mind would offer a home to a Hitman?

He thought about answering, but then changed his mind, feeling a strange mixture of feelings inside him.

A pity he was too proud to go back on his own words.

So, ironically, to put an end to the internal chaos he felt at that moment, he decided to take matters into his own hands.

- Very well, Useless-Tsuna then we are even. - Which only made the brunette blink again confused. - Normally I prefer people to be in my debt, but I can make an exception for you. For believing in you when no one else did, and you for giving me a new chance to live.

- What does that mean...? - He asked confused.

- It means that from now on we start from scratch. Neither owes the other anything. - He said with a half smile. - Although I doubt it will take long for you to be in my debt again, Tsuna.

The youngster's orange eyes shone with such an intense tone that they seemed almost supernatural, which made the tears that began to form in his eyes shine like the rarest Melo Melo pearls*.

Reborn snorted, his student was still a child.

- Don't be so sentimental, Useless-Tsuna.

- S-sorry! - He hurriedly wiped his eyes with the back of his sleeve. - It's just-I've always felt like I'd never be able to repay you for everything you've done for me, that you think we're even is… - His voice trailed off, his face flushing with emotion. - I think Shamal is right, it must be a "growth" thing, I feel my mood is very fluctuating lately. - He couldn't help but confess awkwardly, remembering how he had lost patience with Osamu that same day and Reborn the previous one.

And he wasn't even in Hyper Mode!

- Hoo, it seems that our little Useless-Tsuna is suffering from puberty. - Provoked the Hitman with a mischievous smile. - Is it time we had "that conversation"?

- As if a baby knew anything like that! - He exclaimed embarrassed, his eyes slowly returning to their usual orange-brown tone, but a smile didn't leave his lips.

Only then remembering what had driven the conversation in that direction. Help Reborn take off his costume so they can have a serious conversation.

Even though they ended up having a very sentimental one with him dressed as a partridge.

- So… Do you want help taking off the costume?

Instead of answering, the proud Ex-Arcobaleno just turned to his side, so that the youngster had access to the garment's zipper, allowing himself to help.

With a truly radiant smile, the Vongola approached.

As he let himself do it, Reborn couldn't help but notice something peculiar, although invisible to the eye, the Flames of Sky seemed to seep out of the brunette and spread throughout the room, and if that in itself wasn't noteworthy, a since there was no real struggle or reason to wear them, the Sun could also feel, in addition to the usual warmth, a sense of comfort, like covering himself with a thick blanket on a cold night.

He'd only felt something similar from Nono and Luce, though only the latter seemed to really engage him like the youngest one was doing.

And if that wasn't enough, he also felt a sense of genuine happiness emanating from them. It was as if every centimeter of the room was imprinted with its owner's emotions, as if he wanted to shout them out to the world.

Letting himself be guided by curiosity, he did something he hadn't done openly since the Arcobaleno Curse. Using Leon as an inducer, he let his Sun flames out, enveloping the little chameleon's body like an aura.

The effect was immediate.

Disbelieving in his own reaction, Reborn found himself holding his breath as, like moths seeking the light, the invisible flames enveloped Leon as if hungry, as if they wanted to take him, as if they wanted to absorb the Sun Flames as their own.

- Tsuna! - He called out in a higher pitch than he would ever admit.

- Oh! Excuse! The zipper got stuck!

Almost like a stray cat getting caught trying to steal food, the flames immediately retreated and hid back into its owner's body.

-...But I'm almost...! Oh! I achieved! - He said with a smile of triumph, being able to finally take off the gift, oblivious to what had happened.

And with that retreat the Sun was able to release the breath it didn't even know it was holding. What the hell had that been?

-...Ready. - He sighed, folding the costume aside. - Seriously, I don't know how you can like this, it looks as uncomfortable and hot as the reindeer you make me wear...

Anybody else would have lost their composure, and possibly demanded answers about what had happened, but he was The World's Strongest Hitman, so when the brunette looked back at him, he didn't find anything out of place.

- So what did you want to talk about? - Followed the assassin as if nothing had happened, willing to talk to Shamal later.

- Aaah yes... - Tsuna started again feeling insecure when returning to the original theme. - I… - He swallowed hard. - I wanted to apologize for yelling at you yesterday and… - He sighed. -...Say you're right. I had already decided not to keep the girls in the dark anymore when we were in the future. Let them know about the flames and how to use them… It's basically the natural consequence of things.

- And what made you change your decision? - Wanted to know the Ex-Arcobaleno replacing his fedora hat, Leon, still a little apprehensive about what happened, soon jumping on his brim, which always made him feel safer. - You looked pretty decided yesterday.

Instead of answering, the brunette walked over to his bed and sat down, staring at his knees for a few moments before speaking again, the long day he'd had replaying in his mind, the argument with Osamu, Bianchi's offer, and the Mr. Tsuyoshi's words.

- I still hate all this, and I'm really afraid that something will happen to them, but… - He sighed. -...I would only be a big idiot if I insisted that they just stay quiet and hide watching the people they care about being hurt by things they don't even understand well, being left behind. I think… No, you were right when you said I was being too authoritative. They have the right to decide what they want. Besides, something tells me that even if I forbid them, they'll find a way to learn on their own, and that would be much more dangerous.

At that, Reborn smiled, putting down his fedora.

- Very well Tsuna, a good Boss must also know how to recognize when he is wrong.

- But I have a request for you about this, Reborn.

The Sun raised an eyebrow curiously.

- And what would it be?

- Let me handle it my way. - He put it with seriousness staring the tutor directly in the eyes. - I'll talk to Kyoko, and then to Haru.

- Well, you're a little late. - Said the Hitman with a sly smile, which made the child shudder, already expecting the worst. - Yamamoto already started training Haru a few days ago.

- WHAT?! - He exclaimed in shock, standing up, having to hold back his urge to run back to TakeSushi and question Yamamoto firsthand. - When as?!

- Apparently, she felt very imposing having to be protected from the crossfire in the battle of your future self and Hibari. It was the first time she found herself, alone, in such a situation. And Haru was never one to stand still or let herself be protected, has she forgotten how you met her?

- How could I… - And a small smile formed on the brunette's lips. - She wanted to fight me, because I was a bad influence for you!

- Exactly, I found her wandering around Namimori wondering how to thank Yamamoto for helping her, from what I heard, their conversation ended up turning to flames too and Yamamoto was much weaker than you in refusing the request to be trained. - And his smile widened. - She even threatened him if he told you. It is ironic that a civilian managed to pit the Rain Guardian against the Cross and the Sword.

- Hiiiie! Where did she learn that?!

- Why, with Bianchi, of course.

- Aaaaaah! - He took his hands to his head, ruffling his hair in desperation. - I should have known that!

- It really should, but if it's any consolation, Yamamoto also tensed up when he found out that Haru could see flames. It was funny.

- So you knew! - He pointed accusingly.

- From Haru? Yes. She has always been very capable and skilled, not least she is such a strong candidate for the position of Neo Primo's wife. - This made Tsuna blush, leaving his scandal aside. - Now Kyoko I still didn't know. She knows how to keep a secret very well, another great quality for a prospective wife.

- Aaaaah, stop it! - He exclaimed, throwing himself on the bed, hitting his head on the wall in the process, not that he seemed to notice. - I can't believe she got so far ahead!

- As you said, it could be more dangerous if Yamamoto just denied it, who knows, maybe they'd end up asking Mukuro for help… - That made a noticeable shiver reach the brunette. - Or Varia...

- THE VARIA?! WHAT?!

- Who knows. - He said mysteriously. - The possibilities are countless.

This made the youngster one grab his pillow, then cover his face and let out a big cry of frustration at him, which was muffled without alarming anyone.

He didn't even blink when Reborn bumped his hip from the attitude.

- A Boss has to have more composure than that.

- I am noth a Bossu. - He sounded muffled, yet he took the pillow from his face before picking it up again, took a deep breath, and continued. - Fine, but I still want to be the one to follow their progress, even after they go through a… - And he grimaced, as if he was about to say the most abominable thing in the world. -...Training.

- Why, don't you trust my judgment? - The tutor teased with a dangerous aura.

- T-That's not it! - He rose distressed, waving his hands frantically, finding the Sun standing on the bed beside him. - I trust you more than anyone else! - Once again the Hitman lowered his fedora, although his smile was still visible, not that the hysterical Sky noticed. - It's just that if I don't see with my own eyes that they are able to defend themselves and especially, don't get hurt with their own flames, I'll never have peace again!

- So this time you want to be the one to monitor everyone's training in my place? - The youngest swallowed hard once more, but nodded. - All right, I can agree with that. Just make sure you're as severe as I would be. After all, training the Neo First Generation is my responsibility. - That said, he took his hand to his hat, to then point Leon-gun to his student's head. - I will not allow you to ruin my reputation after taking my job.

- Hiiiie! - He exclaimed, dodging another bullet. - Reborn! Stop making holes in my wall!

- Anyway. - He followed, completely ignoring his student, even shooting once again out of spite. - Since Haru was much faster and smarter than you, not that this is new, what do you plan to do about Kyoko?

Tsuna sighed, going back to sit on the bed.

- She asked me to go on my day off at her house, because while I was panicking internally when I found out she knew about flames, I ended up agreeing to do something without knowing what it was, besides helping me somehow with the gifts.

- Typical of Useless-Tsuna. - He snorted.

- But although I didn't pay attention that day, when I think about it even now, I have the strange certainty that what she wants is precisely that I teach her about flames. I don't know how, but I know this is it.

- It's about time you learned to trust your instincts, Tsuna. - Put Reborn lifting his face. - How many times have I not told you that Hyper Intuition is your greatest strength? It's in your blood, and I dare say even Nono's or Iemitsu's intuition isn't as sharp as yours.

The indirect compliment made him blush, yet he smiled.

- But… If that's the case. It's better if I don't go alone… - He continued a little apprehensively looking at his watch. - Damn it! It's already so late! Hope they haven't slept yet! - He got up worried, opening the drawer of his desk and taking out a letter, opening it and looking in it for a phone number. - I need to warn them to organize everything! Ah, maybe it's better to talk to Bianchi too.

And he was about to leave when he stopped at the door, giving the smaller one one last look.

- Thank you, Reborn. - He said sincerely. - You know, despite being chaotic, you are a great advisor.

And he took off running before he was hit by more shots, while yelling a "stop making more holes in the house!"

- This boy is getting cheeky. - Grumbled the Sun, but without letting the smile from before leave his lips, even more seeing as his student finally began to take more and more attitudes and responsibilities.

Before his mind could ramble on to other events of that conversation, Bianchi entered the room.

- All went well, apparently. - She began softly, seeing the smile of her lover. - You look proud.

- Just when I think this kid won't surprise me anymore, he again breaks my expectations. - He confessed, jumping to the window and seeing the clear night sky, despite being winter. - It's hard not to feel proud, even though he's still a scandalous and noisy teenager.

- And aren't all teenagers like that? - She said with grace approaching. - But even so, he has his heart in place, and says and takes very good attitudes from time to time.

- He said he sees me as part of the family, and that if it's up to him, I'll always have a place to go back to. - The Hitman confessed, letting his fedora cover his expression.

This made a smile of affection paint the poison assassin's lips, it seemed that Tsuna had really considered her advice.

- Looks like our little boy is finally growing up. - She joked, sitting at the table and enjoying the moonlight with her love.

-.-.-.-.-

December 16th, Friday, eight days before the Christmas Party and the arrival of CEDEF.

As Friday was his day off, Tsuna was again allowed to wake up later, for which he was very grateful, as the night of gaming had extended longer than they imagined when something ultimate happened.

Reborn and Fon began to compete in the video game.

Competing was perhaps a strong word.

It had all started out innocent, with Lambo asking to play a game he'd never heard of, and culminating in everyone playing Super Smash Bros. As it only had two controls, in an old hope of his mother that he would make friends before the arrival of Reborn.* The disputes had to be only one vs one.

As Fuuta just wanted to watch them play, the first match was Tsuna Vs. Lambo, in which he purposely let Lightning win, not caring about his "Tsuna is a loser" dance that followed, not least because I-Pin was the next challenger and simply humiliated the little Cow in a landslide victory afterwards.

- To… Ler… Ate… - He grumbled, seeing that he had only lasted one minute and twenty seconds against the Chinese girl.

- Come on Lambo, don't cry, it's just a game. - Tsuna tried to cheer up, being surprised when the child, with snot running down his nose, jumped into his lap. - Aaah no! Lambo! Clean your nose first! - The little one obeyed, not the way he would like. - OH NO! NOT ON MY CLOTHES!

And in the time it took to run with the boy in his arms to the bathroom, I-Pin dedicated himself to explaining how to play Fon, even though his master was already analyzing the movement of everyone trying to learn on his own.

When Tsuna returned, placing a now satisfied Lambo on his lap, master and apprentice began their match, and the Chinese didn't lie when he said he wasn't good at it.

He paused at least five times mid-fight to review commands, barely kept track of what was happening on the screen because he always had to look at the controller to make sure which button to press, and even when he learned how to hit, he spent his best moves hitting the air.

When the battle was about to end because of the time limit, Fon finally managed to defeat I-Pin, when the young girl practically committed suicide.

- You played very well master! - He encouraged her while not even he believed he had won the victory.

Covering Lambo's mouth as he tried to express how boring that match had been, Tsuna couldn't help but think how sweet it was for the girl to let her master win, because it was impossible for her to have really lost, if she sometimes even won him, anyway someone who played so badly.

How innocent he had been. I should have guessed that I-Pin, at this point, had also been contaminated by the chaos that represented Reborn. Poor innocent soul so prematurely tainted...

He should have been suspicious when she handed the remote smiling to Reborn and he received it with a smile and a dangerous glint in his eyes, while Fon again stared at the remote trying to memorize the buttons.

Or at least he should have seen the signs, like the foreboding that started to run down his spine, or the detail of Colonnello coming up to watch them play, with Bianchi, both of them with a pot of popcorn in hand.

Reborn was right, he had to listen to his Hyper Intuition more.

18 seconds.

That's how long Fon lasted in Reborn's hands, receiving several specials and falling off the platform before the Chinese could even move.

- Pathetic. - The assassin announced with all the arrogance that fit his little baby body. - You weren't worth my time, Fon.

The martial artist's smile didn't fade, but there was a small twitch in his left eyebrow.

- Well, I didn't know you were so good at this kind of thing, Reborn. I didn't think you liked that kind of entertainment.

The Hitman shrugged.

- Video Game is pure math, and you know that after assassination, calculations are my second best skill.

- Sure. Could we try one more time?

- I don't see why not.

- Now it's good. - Colonnello confided in a whisper beside him.

Oh yeah, should have seen this coming.

3 hours.

That was how long the completely one-sided competition had lasted, because Reborn hadn't even sweated, while Fon couldn't last more than one hundred and eighty seconds against the tutor.

Lambo had already slept on his lap, while I-Pin, Fuuta, Colonnello and Bianchi had fetched at least five popcorn refills to continue watching the show, with the military man accidentally eating a Poison Cooking in the middle of the competition and passing out in a corner, being poked with a pencil by Fuuta to make sure he was still alive.

Tsuna, in turn, saw his control helplessly gaining numerous cracks, by the force that the martial artist had used in it, almost rendering him useless, while with each new defeat Reborn dedicated him a provocation worse than the other.

In the end, with his senses screaming in his ear, and with the flames of the Chinese Storm looking as if they were about to burn his 64, he finally intervened, suggesting a minigame from Smash himself to decide the impasse, even though the victor was already there decided hours ago.

It was simple, a race in a platform game, whoever made the best time won.

Fon completed it in a minute, quite a respectable time for someone who had learned to play that same day.

Already Reborn...

- 16 seconds 95 and thousandths. - Read the Hitman snapping his fingers, while the video game announced a new record. - I think with that it was clear, more than ever, who among us is the best.

And he left as if nothing, humming satisfied, Bianchi soon followed, carrying a also now sleeping Fuuta in his arms.

- I honestly don't think this record will be beaten… In years… - Tsuna muttered in disbelief, and then turned to Fon, more precisely to his poor control of three legs that was crying in plastic agony at the hands of the Chinese. - Eeeh… F-fon?

- I'm going out to get some air. - He announced in a strange calm tone, dropping the poor object, to jump out the window and disappear into the night.

Though a burst of Storm Flames and the sound of what sounded like a falling tree and a car alarm soon indicated that he hadn't gotten very far.

- It's always funny to see the master lose his calm. - Announced I-Pin after the loud noise. - He can be quite competitive.

Yes, completely tainted by chaos.

After that catastrophic night for the strangely shaped controllers, Tsuna swore he wouldn't let Fon participate in the game anymore unless Spanner and Irie managed to build an Arcobaleno-proof controller.

So he was only too happy to wake up just as the clock struck eight in the morning this Friday, letting himself stretch until his bones cracked and-

- HIIIEEE! - He yelled, barely dodging a green sledgehammer. - Reborn!

- Good morning Useless-Tsuna. - Announced the radiant Sun. - A pity, you almost dodged this time.

- Almost? - He asked confused, then looked up and saw that the Hammer-Leon was stuck to the ceiling, to fall on his head in the next second. - AAAAAAH!

- Nothing like waking up to the screams of a useless person. - Observed Reborn in a very good mood. - I missed it. Come on, the breakfast is ready and you have an appointment with your future wife today.

- K-Kyoko is not my future wife! - He yelled embarrassed, standing up with Leon standing over a bruise on his forehead.

- So you prefer it to be Haru? I'm not against change, she's got a lot of attitude, she's going to be an excellent mafiosa.

- Hiiiie! No! Not talk like that! - He sat up already regretting what awaited him that day, the blood from the hammer running down his face.

- Whatever, wipe that bloody nose and go downstairs. Everyone is already waiting for you.

- Everyone ? - He repeated uncertainly, already wondering if there would be another meeting, like those of the Arcobalenos, when he went down to the kitchen.

Swallowing his fears, he went to the bathroom, then changed out of his pajamas into his signature size-27 sweatshirt, bracing himself for what he would find when he came downstairs.

And as he already imagined, as he went down the stairs, stumbling four times, but managing not to fall this time, Tsuna came across the usual choir, which was now becoming a custom, and this time there were more people.

Or almost.

- On the fourth day of Christmas my love gave it to me~ - Chanted I-Pin, Lambo and Fuuta again. - Four toucans...

Tsuna immediately covered his mouth so as not to scream and end up getting beaten up again for interrupting, but it was hard not to when the two people he had called the day before to go with him to the Sasagawa house, not only were already there, they were dressed in toucans!

Irie was smiling awkwardly, the costume's huge beak nearly making his glasses fall off, next to his was Spanner, a lollipop-sucking toucan, and at her feet, the other two small toucans were…

- Mini-Moskas?! - And with one kick, he ended up rolling the rest of the ladder.

- What did I say about interrupting? - Wanted to know Reborn, landing on the back of his neck.

- Three chickens, two doves, and a partridge on top of a pear tree! - He finished the song, with the Reborn Bird returning to its pedestal, to finish the final act.

- Eeeh... Good morning, Tsuna? - Greeted embarrassed Irie, coming forward to help the brunette to get up. - Sorry, we ended up arriving early, and Mister Reborn said that if we didn't wear this costume he would shoot us. - He finished putting his hand to his stomach.

- Mornings start very strange for you, huh Vongola. - Spanner continued calmly with his usual bored tone. - And I didn't know Doctor Green liked that kind of thing.

- I DO NOT LIKE! - Roared the aforementioned with his chicken outfit, red as a Brazilian tanager. - I was threatened with death like you!

- Thank you Irie. - He thanked himself, allowing himself to get up, and then his eyes returned to the two miniatures of Moska. - And those… Aaah! - He screamed, seeing how both began to smoke and then to catch fire, giving a very sinister look to the fantasy whose eyes began to melt.

- They're still prototypes. - The Englishman announced, taking a mini fire extinguisher from his side bag and using its foam to put out the micro fire as if it were the most natural thing in the world. - I brought it with me to use in training, but they still need some adjustments.

- Hiiiie! Kyoko won't train with a Gola Moska, even if it's a mini version!

- Ah, in that case I'll change them to the coral version. - He said then turning to Reborn. - Sorry about the costumes.

- You'll have to deal with the Dressmaker later. - Said the Ex-Arcobaleno simply in his normal clothes. - She has a very short deadline to make all these costumes, but we can negotiate with her later if you agree to help her create a new weapon.

"Dressmaker?" - Tsuna thought confused. - "I thought it was Bianchi making them. Wait! Poison Cooking improvements?!"

- Fine by me. - He shrugged. - Guns are my specialty after all.

- Tsuna? - Irie called, worried seeing that his friend was shaking for some reason. - Everything is fine?

- Not for long. - He said darkly and it was his turn to put his hand on his belly. To then sigh already accepting your fate. - Thank you for coming so early, even more because you missed class for this.

- No problem! - He announced with a big smile. - We have already finished our exams and today are the sports subjects which I have to spare because of my stomach. - He admitted with a let down of shame. - And Spanner put a robot to replace him in physical education classes. So I didn't lie when I said it's okay to skip class.

- Ah yes… Wait, what?! - He exclaimed in shock staring at the blonde.

- What? - Wanted to know the Englishman as if it were nothing, helping a humiliated Verde-Chicken to take off his clothes. - I thought you Japanese people substituted for robots all the time.

- Of course not! Where did you get that from?!

- Do not worry! - Shoichi came forward again with a confident smile. - The robot has only crashed once so far, so it should be all right.

And something practically screamed inside Tsuna warning him not to.

- Anyway, we brought everything you asked for. - The scientist announced happily, indicating a side pouch like his companion. - We may not be experts in this sort of thing, but we hope we can help.

- Thank you Irie, really. You two are amazing friends! - Announced the brunette with a big warm smile, which made the redhead embarrassed, and even Spanner smiled a little. - I haven't even been able to thank them for the bike yet, and I'm already asking for something else!

- P-please don't think like that! - Exclaimed the Sun frantically waving his arms. - You saved the world, remember? So, even if it's in small details, we're always happy to be able to help you too.

- Also, we can test our new inventions. - Contributed Spanner.

-...I hope it's nothing dangerous.

-...- The Englishman stared at him for a long minute, then added. - No.

- What's with this break?!

- Still, I'm impressed with your maturity, Tsuna. - Intervened Bianchi delivering a coffee to Reborn who watched all the interaction sitting on the stairs, while the others had retired to have their breakfast. - This is the first time you have the opportunity to be alone with the girl you like in your own house, and you didn't even hesitate to call other people to help you understand the flames instead of taking advantage of the occasion.

With these words, the quartet watched as the brunette turned an almost phosphorescent red, with an expression that clearly said he hadn't thought of that.

- Are you sure you don't want to have, "that conversation", Tsuna? - Provoked Reborn with a smile, leaving, if possible, the other even more nervous. - It's never too early for education about "that".

- That what? - Asked Lambo returning to the entrance hall, still a sleepy dove, while drinking a glass of milk, a curious I-Pin at his side, followed by a blushing Fuuta.

He was about to open his mouth when Fon appeared, ironically like lightning, leaping in front of the trio.

- This is a matter for adults, children, let's just get back to the table. - He came forward while casting a sharp look at the Hitman who just smirked.

- Hey! Are you talking about se- However, Colonnello couldn't finish his infamous sentence when he received a flying duo kick from Reborn and Fon, but managed to defend himself with his rifle, still being thrown against the kitchen wall.

- I-I will never have this conversation with a baby! - He exclaimed, almost hyperventilating, taking the cue to drag Irie out the door, Spanner soon following him like it was nothing.

Only to find a confused Nana outside.

- Well, Tsu? Won't you eat your breakfast?

- I-I will…

- He's going to eat at his girlfriend's house, Mama.

- Aaah! - She clapped both hands together. - Is that true, Tsu?

- AAAH, KYOKO IS NOT MY GIRLFRIEND! - He roared redder than the hair he was dragging, then ran away, Spanner struggling to reach him.

- Why, I wanted to know from whom he drew all this speed to escape. - Nana muttered with a pout, then turned to the baby. - Oh, won't you go with him, Reborn?

- No Mama, Tsuna said he will deal with it alone. - He declared with a smile seeing the horizon where his student had already disappeared. - This kid is definitely growing up, even if in a clumsy way.

And the mother just happily agreed.

-.-.-.-.-

When Tsuna finally stopped his escape, they were already in front of the Sasagawa house, releasing Irie who fell like an empty sack to the ground. Spanner wasn't in much better shape, still a few feet behind, having to brace his hands on his knees as he reached the door, sweaty and trying to catch his breath.

- S-seriously, you run away too fast. - The mechanic grumbled, wiping his perspiration on the sleeve of his infamous green jumpsuit that he was wearing again.

- I thought my legs were going to break! - The redhead said, throwing himself to the ground dramatically.

- You're exaggerating, and I-I wasn't running away! - He put it awkwardly.

- Next time you go in Hyper Mode and we will use parachutes like in the future. - Opined the Englishman straining.

- Ooh! I like the idea! - Joined Irie sitting down. - I was really excited to try it when I saw what you guys had done!

- That would draw a lot of attention! We can't just walk the streets doing this! - The brunette cut through, resisting the urge to roll his eyes as both inventors sighed childishly at the denial.

However, the discussion lost importance when the trio began to hear extreme screams coming from inside the big house.

- EXTREMELY NO!

- This is definitely the big brother. - Punctuated Tsuna, considering whether or not to open the door.

- Why not?! - And Kyoko's voice also sounding high didn't help at all.

- I already told you, it's very dangerous! And it's my duty as a big brother to protect you!

- And I can't learn to protect myself on my own?! I don't want to spend the rest of my life dependent on you and the boys like that! I even understand that I may never be as strong as you, but… - Even from where they were, it was possible to see that her voice seemed to be breaking. - I don't want what happened in that future to happen again… Tsuna got hurt because of me, his shoulder was pierced to protect me, and I couldn't do anything but watch!

The two inventors with these words turned to the brunette, who had a serious expression on his face.

In Byakuran's future, the two had talked about this attack he suffered in front of her, the young girl had even confessed that it had been scary enough for her to have erased those memories from her mind in an attempt to protect herself, but that with the Bianchi's help was able to remember them, only because she wanted to thank him for helping her.

"It would be better if she never remembered." - He couldn't help but think, imagining bitterly what could have been going through her mind when she saw him pass out and then bleed in front of her, with just the two of them in that abandoned place.

He never asked Yamamoto or Gokudera either how they felt to see him defeated like that, they who always blindly trusted in his strength, left alone and disoriented with their supposed boss bleeding, while having to protect the girls and children.

What could have happened if another attack had followed? And then another? How long would they resist?

A hand on his shoulder made him jump and pulled the force of all those thoughts out of him.

- You worry too much, Vongola. - It was Spanner who had approached the front door, Irie right behind him with a worried expression. - But remember so that you can give your best shot, you need both hands, which won't happen if you always worry about holding your friends' hands all the time to stop them from getting hurt, you have to letting them use their own legs for support, even if they fell a few times in the process.

- Wow Spanner, that was pretty deep! - Irie was surprised while the blonde shrugged.

- When I met the Vongola he only cared about helping his friends, not caring in the least that I had him chained with a gun to his head.* - He explained as if it were the simplest thing in the world. - That day I was sure that the Tenth Vongola was someone who cared more about the lives of others than his own, but it's like the Arcobaleno said on that occasion, he has to trust the power of his companions, to be able to focus and give your all in your own battle. - And then his gaze met Tsuna's impressed. - That's what we're here for, right? Help you take a weight off your shoulders so you can shoot even harder while having your hands free.

Tsuna opened his mouth to thank his friend for his words of encouragement, but he couldn't do it when the door suddenly opened. In the end, it wasn't just them who heard voices on the other side of the entrance.

- A-ah! Excuse! We do not-! - And again the words died in his throat as the small figure who opened the door simply threw herself into the brunette's arms, causing him to freeze completely in his place.

He was starting to hyperventilate, at this rate he was going to end up spontaneously combusting, in every way, it was okay that he had already taken the redhead in his lap, precisely on the day he protected her in the future, but not even in that chaotic time had she simply thrown herself into your arms like that, much less shaking and crying!

His head didn't seem to be the only one that had short-circuited, he was sure of that when the boxer's completely uncertain figure became visible in the hallway leading to the entrance. Devastated for making his fragile little sister cry.

The gears of at least one of the guardians only started working again when the redhead put a hand on the back of the brunette's neck, lowering his head so that he could hear her without his brother doing the same.

- I'm not really crying. - She confided in a thread of voice, making the younger one blink. - But my brother won't say no if he thinks I am, so please just act with me, ok?

Honestly, he thought he deserved an award for not yelling at those words, managing to just gulp while the Sun down the hall stuttered again trying to know what to do.

He was never a good actor, not that anyone ever allowed him to try, he was always the tree in every play the school did.

But one thing was for sure, the shivering was not an act, it was really cold and there was a chance of snow, and the young girl had only gone out in a beautiful yellow short-sleeved dress, no doubt she was freezing to death.

An idea then occurred to him, just as Bianchi had told him, instead of lies, it was much better to come out with half-truths.

With that in mind, he drew Kyoko closer with one hand, almost as if he was hugging her, surprising her, even though he had only done so to activate Natsu, immediately turning him into a cloak and throwing it over her head. At least, unlike when Hibari did the same for him, she wasn't soaking wet. And thanks to all the gods and ancestral beings, she was dressed!

- Ready Kyoko, so you'll feel better. - He said with sincerity, and she understanding the point, took shelter and hid inside the cover, unable to fail to notice how warm she was.

Then the brunette turned his eyes to the albino, seeing him still distressed, but at the same time relieved that the young girl was in good care. A part of him felt bad for acting, and in a way, deceiving, his considerate brother, but he knew Ryohei could be even more stubborn than he was about his little sister's safety, so it was best to trust Kyoko on this one.

- Hmm… Sorry brother, could we go in…?

- Isn't it better to leave? - Irie opined nervously, already putting a hand to his stomach. - Clearly not a good momen- And swallowed his other words along with the pain when passing between the redhead's legs, the young girl kicked one of the scientist's knees, clearly telling him to shut up.

Well, there was a side of her that he didn't know, or that he simply never paid real attention to, after all, rumors said that when Mochida challenged him to a Kendo match with Kyoko as a prize, she had to be held back by Kurokawa not to say personally to bushido what she thought of it.*

Not to mention she almost hit his mother the first time she entered Hyper Mode…* Even though he'd rather not remember this particular time.

Thinking like that, it really made sense for Kyoko to get along so well with figures like that student who threatened Osamu and Kurokawa herself, in addition to Haru, of course.

- All right, come in… - The Sun put in an unusually low tone while scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.

The entrance to the house was the same as his own and Kurokawa's that he had visited in the future, a hallway that led to a staircase and probably the bedrooms, Ryohei, however, guided them to a door on the right that led to the kitchen, what distinguished this abode from the other two that had it on the left side.

The room was large and spacious, with a rectangular table in the middle and five chairs arranged around it, which indicated that there were more people who lived in that house.

- Eeh… Hmm… Make yourself comfortable. - It was even strange to see Sasagawa disconcerted.

- Thank you for your hospitality. - Irie thanked equally awkwardly, who clearly seemed to want to leave due to the previous scene and still with his leg hurting, even so he sat next to Spanner on the side of the table.

Tsuna, in turn, didn't know exactly what to do, as Kyoko still hadn't released him, just moved to a more lateral position to allow him to walk, but keeping her crying and fake sobs.

"Act together." - He thought, swallowing his nervousness and pity for his brother, spoke again.

- Hmm, sorry, where is the bathroom? You know… - He said awkwardly, indicating the redhead girl with a shy movement.

The albino nodded in miserable understanding.

- At the end of the corridor we passed...

- Thanks.

And as fast as he could he went to the indicated place, hearing a dry sound that sounded very much like something hitting hard on wood. If he had to predict, he would have guessed that the Sun had thrown his head against the table.

Ryohei managed to be extreme even in drama.

Although embarrassing, he entered the small bathroom right after Kyoko and closed the door, just so he wouldn't hear them with the proximity of the rooms. It was a small bathroom, with a sink, with a closet underneath, a toilet and a shower at the end. Tsuna found himself at the door as far as possible from the redhead who took her borrowed cloak off her face and leaned against the opposite wall, inside the shower stall.

Never, not in his wildest dreams, did he think that one day he would be in a situation like this, alone in a cramped room, at Kyoko's own house, with her wearing one of his clothes!

Okay, technically it was his Lion Box Weapon in cloak format, but that wasn't the point!

And yet, he couldn't focus on how embarrassing and unique it was, not when one of his precious friends was in a fit of grief a room away and he was technically one of those responsible for it.

- Don't you think… - He started rubbing the back of his head awkwardly. - Are you getting too hard on him?

The expression she gave him was meant to be annoyed, but all he could think about was how cute she was when she was angry.

- No, he deserves it. - And the fact that she inflated her cheeks childishly didn't help at all! - I told him that I now knew about flames and that I wanted you to teach me how to use them and he just went crazy! Starting to scream at how dangerous this was and that he wasn't going to let me do it.

- Yeah... We kind of heard. - Reported without grace - Ah! Sorry about that!

She denied with her head.

- It's all right, I also heard a little bit what Spanner said, and I agree. - That made him blink as she now stared at him determinedly. - You always worry about everyone, learning to stand up for myself I wanted to take some weight off your shoulders! I'm sure Haru feels the same way. Also, this way we wouldn't be in the dark anymore, we thought it was over after we came back from the future, but you guys just disappeared a week when Yamamoto got sick, and Reborn mentioned something about a battle of the representatives. - That made the brunette swallow noisily. - We don't want to be out of any of this anymore.

So that really was their fear…

She sighed, remembering again why he was here, in addition to his conversation with Reborn, and even Spanner's recent words.

- Yes, you are right, and I will help you with that. - He put missing the moment that her statement made Kyoko's eyes shine. -...Even if I end up getting beaten up by the big brother again like the last time.* - He finished with a sigh, more for himself than for the young girl.

- Pardon? - But in a tone loud enough for her to hear. - When did my brother hit you?

- What?! - Only then did he realize he'd said it out loud. - No, no, forget it, it's nothing like that.

- Did you say last time? - She considered ignoring his scandals, then her eyes widened in understanding. - Wait! That's when you told me about the Mafia in the future! Did he hit you for that?!

- Eeeeeh, no...? - He could even imagine Reborn next to his ironically telling his a "Congratulations Useless-Tsuna, very convincing."

However, he put aside his mental ramblings in favor of stretching his arms and blocking the passage of the older one, who now looked really furious.

- No, no, I won't let you go like this! - He exclaimed extremely red, because she was even more beautiful furious.

It was official, Reborn had hit his head too many times and it had definitely affected something there.

- Let me talk to him. - She put it in a gruffly-beautiful tone. - I can't believe he did this to you! Since we who insist on knowing the truth!*

- Kyoko, I know you're angry, but… - And she was standing in front of him, frowning, hands on her hips, her crooked cloak falling over her right shoulder, if she tried to force it, she was sure she could, the proximity would be too much for him to bear.

There was only one thing he could do in this situation, even if he died of embarrassment.

Then he took a step forward, stretched out his hands and shakily adjusted the cloak, as it should, over the redhead's shoulders.

-...But now you're Super Angry!

Silence.

The young girl blinked, putting her hands on her shoulders and processing what that meant, a movement that only made the brunette more and more nervous.

- Pffffff! - And then she burst out laughing, with such intensity that they would hardly hear from the kitchen, although they would probably imagine she was crying. Even more so with the tears that were definitely coming out of her eyes now. - Oh no! Super Angry, because cape is a superhero thing! - She exclaimed between laughter. - That's so stupid!

- Sorry… - He said rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly, simply delighted with the way she laughed, it was even more beautiful than seeing her irritated. - It was the only thing I could think of at the time.

- You were always so funny, Tsuna! - She exclaimed with a smile, making the youngest sigh in relief to see that he had managed to distract her, the last thing he needed was for the brothers to fight over her. She then picked up the cloak to take a closer look, noticing the flames at its edges. - Don't they burn?

- Not if I don't want them to burn. - Said simply. - You can pull over if you want.

Like a curious child, the young girl lifted the bar to touch the flickering orange shape.

- This is the Sky Flame. - He explained shyly in the face of opposite fascination. - They say it is rare, but honestly there are even rarer ones out there.

- And this cloak is actually Natsu? - She questioned remembering the Choice.

- Oh yes, that's right. - He blinked, surprised that she remembered. - Honestly, I also don't know how this is possible, but it's his shape-shifting.

Before he could change the Lion's form, the young girl crossed her arms and made a comical evil expression.

- So, I look like a Mafia Boss?

- Hiiiie! Kyoko! Do not say that!

And a knock on the door only made him jump even more, stepping out of the way for Ryohei to open as he threw his hands up in panic as if he was doing something wrong that might draw the Sun's wrath, which had the rebound effect that Natsu reverted to his lion form and fell awkwardly to the ground at Kyoko's feet.

- All right, Kyoko. - Put Ryohei in a serious tone, seeing her sister's still tearful expression, without imagining that she was laughing moments before. He didn't even seem to notice the pathetic figure of the Sky who tried to look innocent when he was. - You won, you can study about flames.

Instead of celebrating with her victory, the young girl walked to her brother, passing by the figure of Tsuna who was uselessly trying to merge with the sink, until she stopped in front of the Sun Guardian.

- Right of… Right! - She exclaimed, punching her brother's shoulder with the aforementioned hand. - That's for the punch you gave Tsuna in the future, when all he did was tell us the truth, which you didn't!

There was no way this punch could have hurt, yet as if the Sky Flame was involved, the albino simply looked like he had turned to stone, his expression frozen and mouth open in disbelief.

- I thought Tsuna was the Boss, no? - The redhead wanted to know, taking a hand to her waist, looking for an answer behind her brother, in the faces of Spanner and Irie who spied from the kitchen door the unfolding of the scene. The second squeaked when he was discovered.

- Yes, he is. - Still the Englishman replied as if it was nothing.

- No, I don't-

- So... - Followed Kyoko firmly pointing her finger accusingly at the older one. - This is riot! And that punch was your punishment! - She finished confirming with her head and crossing her arms.

As if the blow had a delayed effect, at the end of his words the Sun fell to his knees on the ground, in a state in which he looked as if he had been hit by the Tomasso family's special bullet.*

-...S-she... She hit... - Tying to process.

- Brother? - Tsuna questioned worriedly, kneeling beside the Guardian while Kyoko left with her head held high to the kitchen, without seeming regretful, passing beside Irie and Spanner. - Big brother, please react!

- Eeeeh… - The redhead boy started not knowing what to do, his hand tightly holding his stomach as he saw the Sky trying to raise the Sun with great difficulty. - Do you want help, Tsuna?

- I'll start showing her what we brought. - Spanner continued disinterestedly following the youngest of the Sasagawa to the kitchen.

By the time the gangly duo finally managed to bring the unlit Sun into the kitchen and help his lifeless figure into one of the chairs, Kyoko had already made some tea along with some toast, which Spanner happily sipped while showing her some knick-knacks.

- Is this all to be able to use flames? - Asked the young girl, curiously seeing an object that looked like an old lamp, paradoxically next to a computer board, followed by a ring with wings, and finally a small box with drawings of the Sun.

-...Vongola asked us to explain the more technical parts to you, so we brought some things. - Explained the mechanic, looking up to the pair that threw themselves on the chair looking exhausted, while the Sun Guardian had just fallen forward as if he were dead. - You took so long.

- He's heavy. - Tsuna muttered, wiping the sweat from his forehead.

- And you could have helped...

- No thanks. - And he turned to his objects. - This first one is an invention of Doctor Verde, he is a great scientist who is studying the flames. This stores flames, we use it in the final battle against Vindice to trick them with illusions and robots.

- Vindice? - She questioned, flanking her head with curiosity, then turning to Tsuna.

Which he sighed, bringing a hand to his face, seeing out of the corner of his eye how Ryohei still looked K.O.

-...I'll explain later.

The young girl nodded contentedly, then turned back to Spanner. The flame explanation, as his Hyper Intuition had scored correctly, had barely begun and he was already feeling too tired to warn the mechanic not to speak so openly of the things they had done.

Not that it mattered much now, he'd already assured her that he wouldn't leave her in the dark anymore, no matter what Ryohei said.

With that, he couldn't help but glance at the miserable figure of his, at least to this day, big brother. He really hoped he would forgive him one day…

What if he wanted to stop being a Guardian because of that?! He would never feel complete again if the radiant Sun that Ryohei represented was no longer by his side.

Not that it was a completely bad thing, at least in the long run, it would take him and Kyoko away from all this madness that was his life. Although, after all this history, maybe Kyoko would stay, even if it's because of her stubbornness, but how long could she stand to be fighting with her brother because of him?

He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, pouring himself some tea, and picking up one of the toast, pushing those stupidities out of his mind, hoping he hadn't missed too much of the explanation, not noticing how Ryohei lifted his head and looked at him with a raised eyebrow, almost as if had been able to read his Boss's thoughts, or rather, his feelings.

Ignorant of this, Tsuna forced himself to pay attention to how Irie explained that there was an internal inductor in the "lamp", which channeled the flame inside the glass and kept it lit, which could fool people capable of sensing flames.

- And what is this inducer, exactly? - Wanted to know the young girl, interested.

- That's an excellent question! - Commented the one with glasses excitedly taking the third item on the table, the ring, and putting it in his right hand.

- Wait! - Tsuna exclaimed shocked. - Why do you have Daisy's Mare Ring?!

- Oh no, no! - Irie hurried to say with a frantic movement of hands. - That's a copy! Just like the future, remember? - He said showing it off. - Byakuran gave me some before the battle… Huh…

- Of the Representatives? - Completed Kyoko with a smile. Ryohei sighed, still looking miserable, but at least a little alive now, though clearly lacking his natural glow.

-...Well, yeah... He kind of... Hmm… - He didn't finish looking embarrassed.

- He told Shoichi it was a friendship ring.

- Aaaaah! Spanner! I wasn't going to tell! This is so embarrassing! -He put blushing.

Tsuna couldn't help but smile, it was very good that in this reality the two had become friends again, even more without an end of the world as a consequence.

- A-anyway. - He said coughing and trying to regain his composure. - This is the main inducer that we have on the market, the rings, but unlike this piece that I showed you before, it helps to induce, but only stores flame as a bait or… Like a lamp, these ones here, in addition to inducing, catalyze the flame potential. The higher the ring level, the more effective they are. The rings are divided into, from strongest to weakest: A, B, C, D and E. This, for example, is a class A ring.

Having said that, the redhead boy closed his eyes, and around the yellow stone, an intense flame of the same color began to shine.

- Oooh...! - Kyoko exclaimed, leaning her arms on the table to see better.

- Do you already know what types of flame there are?

The young girl nodded.

- Yes, Tsuna told me...

- When did I tell you that?! -He was startled, trembling slightly when he felt Ryohei's gaze on him.

-...The first is Sky, whose attribute is harmony, and the color is orange… - Then she started to list all the others on her fingers. -...Have I forgotten something?

- No, these are perfectly the seven Sky Flames. - Confirmed Irie.

- So, if this is yellow, is your flame Sun?

- Exactly!

- Can I pull over?

- No problem, but it can tingle a little. - With that he offered his burning finger, which the young girl touched with curiosity.

-...It's warm, I thought it would be hotter, since it's the Sun. - She commented to herself. - Tsuna's is warmer and feels more comfortable, enveloping. - Then she walked away, not realizing she made the Sky blush again with her comment. - Already this one seems to try to cross my finger...? It's weird, it really tingle a little.

- Serious? - The brunette one put aside his shame in the name of curiosity. - I never felt anything.

- I'd be surprised if you did. - Spanner intervened. - With the pain resistance you have. - That just made the younger one blink, considering.

- It is the activating factor, it naturally reacted to the foreign body, especially one full of cells. This prickling is my flame entering through the pores of your skin. - That made the young girl blink, to which the scientist hastened to add. - D-don't worry! It's not harmful or anything like that, of course, unless you want it to be, w-which I definitely didn't! What I'm trying to say is that my flame contacts the cells and activates them to improve their performance, making them multiply faster and then-

- Can I borrow a sharp knife? - Interrupted Spanner seeing how the redhead girl began to frown.

-...Yeah, I think that's faster... - He sighed in defeat.

- What do you mean faster?! - Tsuna wanted to know with a bad feeling.

Curious, the redhead girl got up and went to the bench on the far right side of the table, taking a very respectful meat knife.

As if that was the warning sign he needed to get back to his old self, Ryohei got up suddenly.

- Let me do it extremely! I don't want any of my brothers to get hurt! - He exclaimed stretching his hand to pick up said object.

- We already discussed this, brother! - The younger one retaliated with a frown, pushing the knife away. - I can- But she stopped when she felt the item being taken from her hand.

- TSUNA! - Ryohei exclaimed in alarm, seeing almost in slow motion as his Boss diagonally cut the palm of his right hand, blood promptly dripping to the floor. Kyoko brought her hands to her mouth.

- I wouldn't let any of you do that. - He put it as the only explanation.

"Spanner's right, it doesn't hurt as much as it should… Like Reborn's hammer blow this morning or the hot tea I spilled on me the day before." - He thought strangely, feeling only a burning sensation instead of the latent pain.

However, he put those thoughts aside when his hand was pulled with some force.

- Tsuna! - Exclaimed the oldest of the Sasagawa, annoyed seeing the wound of the smallest with a frown. - Didn't you hear what I said?! I would do it myself! I don't want to see any of my brothers hurt! - He repeated firmly.

- Big brother… - He couldn't help but feel moved by those words. - I thought you were angry with me for agreeing to help Kyoko with the flames...

Faced with this, the eldest sighed in frustration.

- Do not have any wrong ideas about me, Tsuna. - He said in a serious and uncharacteristic tone, his flame starting to burn in the Bangle on his arm, towards which he directed his healing box with his Saldatore del Sereno inside that he took from the pocket of his orange running sweatshirt. He couldn't help but wonder if he took him everywhere. - Yes, I'm angry, you know I never wanted to involve Kyoko, but you would never stop being my brother because of that!

And his flame burned with more intensity, as if willing to reinforce his point, which only made the brunette smile, feeling welcomed.

- And why did you have to make such an EXTREME CUT, TSUNAAA?! - He yelled starting to apply his flame to the wound.

- Hiiiie! I-I thought this would be better for Kyoko to see! - And he turned his sight to the redhead girl, who hadn't said anything during their interaction, just staring at the wound closing with a frowning expression, in addition she was pale and breathing through her mouth.

He decided not to press her on the matter, it wasn't every day you saw someone's skin fabric sewing in your front, it must have been disgusting to say the least.

And so, slowly the activation factor did its work, and the palm of the Sky looked as if it had never been tainted.

- Well. - Started Irie uncertain, still sitting at the table, his flame already extinguished. - This is how it works in practice, the activation factor restoring skin tissue, but there is a limit to what we are able to heal, very deep wounds can be irreversible or at least leave scars, no matter how powerful the Sun is.

The redhead girl nodded, although her face was downcast.

- Oh, I... - She started a rather strange smile. - I just remembered that my Mom asked me to do something, I'll come quickly.

And she ran away before anyone could say anything.

Irie shot a look at Spanner who just sighed, shaking his head.

- Where is the bathroom? - Wanted to know the mechanic, and after his answer the blonde withdrew.

- Strange, I don't remember Mom asking for anything...

- I've never seen you talking about your mother, although Kyoko has already mentioned her cousins.*

- Ah well, our parents are extreme! But because of Mom's job they travel a lot, Dad always goes along to protect her!

- I understood. - He smiled, clearly Ryohei had taken after his father. - And what is her profession?

- She's an extreme doctor!

- Eeeh?! Doctor?! - He exclaimed, surprised. - Serious?!

- Yeah! Mom works in sports medicine, that's how she met Dad, when he busted his jaw in a clandestine boxing match! And they extremely fell in love!

-...Eeeh... That's nice? - It was all he could add, a little uncertain whether he wanted to know the details or not.

- Well, I'm back. - Kyoko announced with a smile, and although she was still pale and seemed to be excited again, Spanner was right behind her with his usual neutral expression, limiting himself to exchanging a nod with Irie. - Can we go back to class?

So everyone went back to sitting around the table as before, while sharing breakfast, this time with Ryohei more involved.

- I'm still against it. - He informed taking off his bangle and putting it on the table. - But I extremely prefer to follow the… Training… From you, than knowing that my extremely stubborn sister is doing it hidden from me! No way I will let you guys get hurt without proper support! - He finished, casting an accusing look at the brunette one who just smiled awkwardly.

- So… - Kyoko followed, happy that they were reaching a kind of consensus. - Are there other catalysts besides the rings? - She punctuated watching the bangle closely.

- Yes, they can be all kinds of objects. - Followed Spanner. - Earrings, bracelets, buckles, necklaces, helmets, all sorts of things. And even rings can have different shapes, from the most extravagant to the simplest. - Then he turned to the brunette one who, understanding the cue, took off his double ring and placed it next to Ryohei's Gear.

He couldn't help but feel uncomfortable without him, almost lonely.

"It must be because of Natsu." - He considered keeping importance.

Kyoko was amused that the part of Sawada's fingers that were usually covered with his rings looked much paler compared to the rest of his hand, which just went to show how he never took them off, but she refrained from commenting.

- Your brother's is the Bangle of the Sun, while Tsuna's is the Ring of the Sky, these are Vongola family treasures, they are different from all others because their base material are special stones that we call Trinisette, they have a power mystic that we still don't understand very well. There are only fourteen more objects made from this same rock, the Mare Rings and the Pacifiers of the Arcobalenos.

- Pacifiers of the Arcobalenos? - She repeated curiously, immediately making Irie look nervously at Tsuna.

- We'll talk about that later, I think this part is better Reborn explain. - He considered with a serious face. - Anyway, pacifiers are more flame holders than a catalyst, no? I mean, I almost never feel any flame coming from Reborn.

- Yeah, I think it makes sense. - And the scientist turned to the young girl again. - Honestly, we know little about the latter, and anyway, technically they don't exist anymore.

- I understand…

- I've heard that there are catalysts that aren't even objects. - Joined Spanner. - While we were working with Doctor Verde to make this "lamp", he mentioned that he suspects that Fon uses his tattoo for that too, but that he never got a single word out of him about it, as this must be a very closely guarded secret of the Triads or from Yakuza.

- What? Tattoos worn as rings? - Tsuna put it with surprise, without stopping to wonder if Dino's tattoos had something special too.*

- If it's true, it must be some component they use in their paints. - Considered Irie. - This just shows how vast the world of flames can be, and how each region has adapted in a way to its use. Kikyo uses his hair as inducers, remember? - He followed while Spanner explained to Kyoko who this was.

- Although there are also those that don't use any catalyst, like Xanxus from Varia. - Again the redhead girl tilted her head without knowing who it was. - A tall, handsome man with black hair, red eyes and a grumpy appearance? - Everyone, with the exception of the young girl, frowned at the choice of adjective. - What? I thought he was the example of what women consider beautiful these days.

- Aaah! I think I know who it is!

- Eeeeeh?! - Tsuna exclaimed, afraid that Xanxus was just the type of man that Kyoko liked, but was too afraid to ask to be sure.

-...But what about him? - She followed, ignorant of the brunette's inner fears.

- He is a good example of a flame user who can use his bare hands without any problem, this is very rare. - Then his eyes turned to a miserable Tsunayoshi. - Although, in the Representative Battle I saw the Vongola do the same, without gloves and without using the ring as an inducer.

- What? - He said lost as he saw himself in the sights of everyone's attention. - Ah yes, thanks to Reborn's friend, I got into a higher state than Hyper Mode, somehow, and I didn't need my gloves.

- Well, now that you know it's possible, do you think you can repeat the feat? - Asked Spanner smiling excitedly, adjusting himself in his chair and seeing the expectant brunette.

- Eeeh… Maybe? - It was all it could offer in the face of expectations. - It's okay, I… - He swallowed hard. - I am going to try...

With that, taking advantage of the fact that his rings were far away, he closed his eyes, raising both palms, as if in meditation.

- Remember Tsuna! Clear your mind! - He almost laughed at the redhead girl's excited tone.

He took his lead again, and for some reason, even with so many eyes on him, he didn't feel pressured, as he had been to light his ring when they were in the future, it was probably because he now had practice, or he simply didn't have any of those heroic intentions and empty in mind, all he wanted was simply to know if he could put out his flames on his own.

Curiosity can be one of humanity's biggest drivers.

As if he was trying to enter Hyper Mode, he again felt that metaphorical wall in front of him, but something this time caught his attention.

It was as if there was a crack now, and all of his flame was flowing in that direction, like a glass filled with water, the liquid of which was slowly starting to make its way towards the crack.

His senses told him he should focus there.

And hadn't Reborn said that he should trust his intuition more?

So that's exactly what he did.

- Wow! They are so beautiful! - And Kyoko's exclamation seemed to be an indication that it was working.

Therefore, he dared to open his eyes, not even believing when he saw in his palms two extremely pure flames, which simply emerged from his bare hands.

To Spanner it looked like Christmas had come early, Irie just watched it descend, Ryohei at best seemed mesmerized by the crackling fire, and Kyoko watched in fascination.

- This is awesome Tsuna! You are really incredible! - That made him blush, and perhaps as a result he lost his concentration, because the flames grew exponentially, taking a scream from the girl's lips and nearly burning out the ceiling lamps.

Kyoko's startled look at him, because of him, was something he would probably never forget.

So his flames died, making him lean forward wearily, missing the moment Ryohei got up and ran to his side to see if he was hurt.

- I'm fine, sorry! - He hurried to say taking a hand to his chest and feeling a throbbing there. - It's just, it's a lot harder without the gloves. I think last time, I unconsciously used the gravity of Enma's Ring to better control them, without it they seem...

"Savages." - He thought, not having the courage to say it out loud.

- That's exactly why I didn't want you to learn to use flames. - Punctuated Ryohei going to get some water for his Boss. - They can be extremely dangerous!

- Should we stop today? - Wanted to know Irie worried, even Spanner now saw the younger with a frown.

- No! - Tsuna exclaimed louder than he intended. - No, it's really nothing. - He affirmed, true to his words, after all, he just felt a little tired, as well as a small pang in his heart. - But… - He swallowed hard. - What Ryohei said is true.

That made Kyoko look at him with an expression of sadness that almost made him hesitate, but soon she realized that there was more there, by the serious expression he had.

- Being able to use flames automatically makes you a target, not that you wouldn't before just knowing us. - He admitted with a sigh of regret. - However, when you become, let's say, "active", it will become much worse. There are people who can feel flames, and a single spark can put not only you, but everyone around you in danger. You understand this?

Sasagawa nodded, swallowing, the last time she had seen Tsuna this serious was when he told her the truth about the Mafia when they were in the future, and not even then, he looked as serious as he was now.

In turn, the brunette one mentally replayed the tips on how to behave in this conversation he had managed with Bianchi, hoping that he was really doing the right thing.

- Furthermore. - And for that he turned to Ryohei. - I will not help you to train physically, the Brother is much better at it than I am, you will have to convince him. - The older one opened his mouth to protest, but he shut up when he received a look from the brunette one that clearly said there was something more. - And above all, you will have to convince me that you are ready for it. I will help you and Haru in everything I can about the flames, even if I'm not the best for it, but you can only go forward in all this if you overcome an obstacle, a test.

- And what would that test be? - The young girl wanted to know, keeping her posture straight, in an attempt to look bigger and more imposing. - A battle?

- No, it won't be a battle, your examiner won't lift a finger to hurt you, like I said, it's not physical training, first you need to prove that you can defend yourself, immobilize your opponent long enough to run away if he is too strong.

- But… - It wasn't exactly what she had in mind. - I want to fight…

- You are the younger sister of a Guardian and a very close friend of the future Vongola Boss. - Spanner put in making Tsuna blush and curse, trying to keep his posture serious while saying a "I'm not boss". - Even more than the other girl who doesn't have blood ties to anyone, people won't attack you to hurt you, but to kidnap you, take you hostage, those things. - That made her eyes widen in understanding. - The Vongola is right when he says that the first thing you should learn is to immobilize your opponent and escape, and then know how to choose your battles.

- I see… - She didn't like it, but it was the best she thought she could get for now.

- If you stop your examiner and prevent him from continuing the battle, either by immobilizing him or by exhausting his flames, you can move on, that is my condition to help. It will be the same condition I will put for Haru. You accept?

- Wait, but who- Ryohei started, but again stopped, this time seeing a negative sign from Spanner, who had already noticed the brunette plan.

- All right, I accept. - She placed it firmly.

Tsuna sighed in relief, then smiled in a strange way that Ryohei had never seen before and that somehow reminded him of Reborn.

- But who will this examiner be?

- Oh, don't worry, we'll see this later. - He withheld importance, clearly hiding something. - Spanner, why don't we continue with the explanation of the objects?

The blonde smiled proudly at the mediating posture of what he also considered his boss, and with a nod continued his explanation, having the redhead girl's attention again, while Ryohei advanced curiously towards the Sky.

- Don't feel pressured if flames aren't your thing. - Followed Englishman. - The most important thing is knowing how to deal with them, even if you can't manifest them, as in my case.

-...Who is the examiner, Tsuna?

- So you don't have your flames, huh, "active"?

- No, and I don't even want to, my business is really mechanics, which brings us to our next item. - He said pointing to a motherboard. - This is the center plate of a Gola Moska, a weapon designed by Italy during the war…

-...So, actually. - And Tsuna stretched out to say something to the albino's ear, who opened his eyes too much with the information.

-...So he absorbs flames?

- Exactly, he feeds on them.

- WHAT?! THIS IS EXTREME!

- Do you disagree?

- And what is this plate made of?

- Of a very interesting black metal, it is the same alloy of the A and B class rings, extracted naturally from the interior of an Italian volcano, Etna, which is in Sicily, and that is why the rings first appeared on Italian soil, falling into the hands of the Mafia, while rings from C to E are made from a mixture of hard metals, gems or diamonds that try to simulate it.

Ryohei sighed.

- All right, I agree.

- And how did people manage to extract this metal from inside a volcano?

- Kyoko. - The aforementioned left her question aside to pay attention to her brother who was looking at her seriously. - I accept Tsuna's idea, if you can win my Boss's challenge, then I'll train you to be an EXTREME FIGHTER! - He ended up with his arms in the air.

- I'm not your boss!

- Really?! - Her eyes gleamed.

- EXTREMELY SERIOUS!

- Thank you, Tsuna! You are simply the best! - She put truly radiant, which just melted the brunette's heart who choked three times before saying something that sounded almost like a "You're welcome." - Thank you both too!

- Oh, don't w-worry!

- I had nothing better to do.

- I'm so happy! - She continued bright turning her attention to the things on the table. - This is all like entering another world! Rings and robots made of volcano metal!

- Wait, what? - Wanted to know Tsuna confused.

- What? - Irie tilted his head, not understanding. - You didn't know what the other rings are made of...?

- Huh...

- Nobody told you that in the future...?! - He questioned, alarmed. - I didn't know you were fighting so blindly! - He exclaimed, putting his hands to his stomach just thinking about how everything was so close to going wrong.

- Well, they're… Made of metal, aren't they? - He tried without grace.

- An EXTREME metal!

- It's more than that! It's a metal that for a long time was considered just a myth, until Vongola Secondo found it. - Irie continued exasperated. - Nobody knows how he managed to enter the volcano, but he did. And that gave superior power to Vongola and his weapons for a long time!

- You also don't know your family history? - Spanner questioned opening a lollipop.

-...Just the worst parts, I think. - He put it with disgust, thinking of the vision of the succession he had in the future. - But what is the name of this metal?

The mechanic smiled.

- Have you heard of Adamantine?

- Noooo waaay! - He exclaimed, opening his eyes in shock. - Is that serious?!

- So you know.

- I didn't know you liked mythology, Tsuna. - Irie followed, trying to calm down, while the brunette one just smiled awkwardly.

Not having the heart to say he knew the name from a game.

- Myths say that the forge of a god was on Mount Etna, as well as the entrance to the world of the dead. - The Englishman continued. - That's why the metal found there reacts so well to the flames born of the last wish before death.

Tsuna couldn't help but shiver at the thought of the "world of the dead", and how the cursed soul of Romeo, Bianchi's ex-boyfriend, almost took him to hell with him in revenge.

- Hiiiie! If there's anyone living down there, I definitely wouldn't want to know!

- They're just myths. - Spanner shrugged. - At most you will find the summer house of the Vindice gang.

The brunette forced a smile, he didn't really know how to answer that. But he set that aside when something occurred to him.

- Wait! Zakuro! - He exclaimed remembering the Byakuran storm and his bizarre presentation video taking a bath in lava. - Is it because of him that Millefiore had access to so many rings?!

- Exactly, you got the point. - Confirmed the redhead boy.

-...And I still don't know how this is physically possible. - Spanner muttered under his breath to himself, enjoying his lollipop. - I still think that was montage.

-...Much of Byakuran's money from that time came from extracting this volcano, although now that Zakuro's body is no longer modified, he can no longer do that, so the rings that are spreading around the world must now come from another source, I mean, not everyone can take a dip in a volcano… - Spanner just rolled his eyes. -…And as far as I know, Vongola keeps its surroundings well guarded, after all, it's in Sicily where its base is.

The Sky didn't know exactly what to do with this information.

- Like I said, it's EXTREME metal!

- Are there any other rare metals among the rings? - Wanted to know excited Kyoko.

- Well… - The scientist considered seeing the ring that was still on his finger. - I heard that the Mare Rings were forged, in addition to the Trinisette, with a mystical marine stone called Orichalcum, and that's why it has that name, which means Sea.

- You can't be saying that Atlantis exists?! - It put Tsuna in shock.

- Eeeh no, actually Byakuran told me that the stone was on the forehead of a ritualistic mask… You know.

- Torikabuto!

- B-but I don't know if that's true! I think when he told me that to my future self, he was already suspicious of me, so it might just be a joke.

- I doubt it. - Muttered the Vongola feeling a headache coming. Only now, months later, did he begin to understand how Byakuran, thanks to his visions of parallel worlds, had accumulated so much power, and money.

He had literally found a gold mine.

For his sanity's sake, he'd think about it later.

- Anyway, that leaves us with this box. - Finished Spanner taking the Solar Box in his hands. - It belongs to Shoichi, but he will leave it with you for now, and you should try to open it when you manage to manifest some flame, Tsuna will show you how. - The young girl nodded, taking the object in her hands. - You probably have the same flame as him and your brother, so you should be able to.

- Since we don't have any rings, we'll leave this lamp with you. - The redhead boy continued. - The principle is the same in the end, it will help you to induce your flame.

- Thank you! - She thanked sincerely also accepting said object. - You helped a lot.

- Just one more thing. - Spanner reached into his bag and pulled out two white strips plus a bookmark. - The Japanese believe that words have power, don't they?

And then he began to write with great concentration, ending with a satisfied smile.

- There is, Shoichi has been teaching me to write Japanese, here it is! - And proudly revealed the first track, with just horrible lyrics, which read: 元頁弓長って that Tsuna wasn't sure what Spanner meant by that, but it was probably a 頑張って、"Do your best". And on the second it was written: 克て教、つな、who had no idea what it should be. - Here, I wrote for you "Give the best", and "Tutor, Tsuna"!

Those words sent a gigantic shiver down the brunette's spine.

- But that's not what is written in the second. - Commented Ryohei turning his head to see if he could understand. - You wrote something like… Win by Studying?

- Sorry! - Irie hurried. - I'm not good at the language part...

- You confused the first Kanji, Spanner, but the second one is right. - Tsuna explained while Kyoko was already wearing her headband excitedly, then borrowed the pen and wrote in his own hand. - This should be the first one: 家.

-...Isn't that kanji in your father's name? - Considered the blonde.

- Eeeh?! How do you know that?!

- Shoichi translated for me the names that appeared on the clocks of the Representative Battle after each match. - He explained simply. - I remember yours had a rice field too.

- Ahh… Yeah, that's what Sawada means. Well, ironically "Ie" from Iemitsu is also spelled with this kanji that I wrote down on my hand, which means "home". - He sighed with irony. - That's why "Tutor" who teaches you at home, has to be written with the kanji for "home", not "win".

Spanner blinked for a moment, considering.

- So you'd rather wear a headband with half your father's name on your head that punched you in the Representative Battle, than the one I made that looks so much cooler?

It was Tsuna's turn to consider, while the blonde's smile only grew.

- All right, you won. - He snorted, taking the belt and even embarrassed tying it on his forehead. - Thank you, Spanner.

Although he felt a huge chill at being called a Tutor, he couldn't help but wonder where he'd gotten himself.

- YES, YOU NEED TO STUDY EXTREMELY TO WIN!

- Speaking of which little brother, shouldn't you be studying now for the Koukou exams?

- Ah… I EXTREMELY FORGOTTEN!

- Well, frankly, Brother! I think you also need a tutor.

And they all laughed, some more out of nervousness than fun. And even after the inventor duo left, Tsuna continued with the brothers until late at night, ending up sleeping sprawled out on his stomach on the couch.

- Good night, Tsuna. - Kyoko approached with a blanket, covering her now private teacher, stopping to see him sleep a little. - Thank you so much for today, you were amazing.

Then, making sure her brother wasn't around, she knelt down, getting closer and closer to his sleepy face, finally leaving a small kiss on his left cheek.

Pulling away soon after, as if she'd been shocked, realizing what she'd done to get up abruptly and run upstairs with as little noise as possible.

While the little Boss just smiled in his dreams.

Notes:

* Melo Melo pearls are the rarest and most expensive pearls in the world, as they have a unique and bright orange color.

* In chapter 33, page 7, the Parents' Participation Day is taking place, and Tsuna, seeing Reborn participating dressed as an old lady, remembers the conversation he had with his tutor last night in which he confesses that he is looking forward to the next day, that specific flashback we discovered something interesting, Tsuna plays video games with Reborn sometimes. Also, it's curious how someone without friends like Tsuna had two controllers, don't you think? And by the way, in episode 67 which was the adaptation of this chapter, Tsuna was playing alone for some reason while Reborn went to sleep. The anime apparently hates him...

* In chapter 187 it is shown how Tsuna was taken prisoner by Spanner, even in this same chapter, on page 7, the mechanic literally points a gun at Tsuna's head, okay our little Sky is used to it, but this time the bullet was real. Even in the anime this obviously doesn't happen, however, as a consequence in the manga the Mini Moska doesn't exist, we all regret it...

* This is a scene that was softened in the anime, but in the manga, in the first chapter, when Mochida says that Kyoko is the prize of that stupid competition, she is not only unhappy, but also tries to go after Mochida herself, just that as mentioned in the chapter she is held by her friends. What would happen if they'd let her go? Kyoko had a very strong personality in the beginning.

* We already made a note about this, but let's talk again about chapter 6, when Kyoko shoots herself and enters Shinu Ki Mode, she tries to get Nana to take back what she had said about his son being useless... THE FORCE AND BREAKING THE HOUSE IN THE PROCESS.

* There's a scene that should have a greater weight than it has, but in chapter 238, page 16, and episode 166, after Tsuna tells the guys that he told the girls the truth (Ehem Kyoko), Ryohei is so upset who punches Tsuna right in the face, however, if a subordinate hit his boss like that, expulsion would be the minimum punishment, but let's say that Tsuna deserved that punch, not for telling the truth, but for taking too long to count!

* A note that completely above, in the girls' strike chapter 236 and episode 165, it was them who wanted to know the truth in the first place, so much so that Reborn, Giannini and even Fuuta (forced) dress up as women (a stunning scene to say the least.) to support the girls, so technically Tsuna is not to blame for not revealing the truth, who else is to blame is Ryohei who lied from the beginning, especially to his sister.

* Since, fortunately or not, honestly not, Longchamp is a manga exclusive character, in chapter 45 page 10 we have the extreme use of Nageki Dan, the Bullet of Desolation, yes it's idiotic. It is used on Ryohei by Naito's right-hand man, the amazing Mangusta, to which effect Ryohei starts saying derogatory things like: "I realized that boxing is not a popular sport in Japan", "To this day Kyoko thinks I'm competing in my underwear and kitchen gloves", and also "Sawada and that girl with the giant forehead (Future I-Pin) haven't agreed yet, I don't think anyone talented would participate in such an unpopular sport." Poor Ryohei.

* Again talking about the Russian Roulette chapter, what a controversial chapter, in case you don't remember when Tsuna omitted that Reborn is his Tutor, saying he's his cousin, Kyoko says she's jealous of them both, since she can't see her cousins as often as she would have liked, probably because they lived so far away… Hmmmmmmm.

* Yes, they are special.
