Hi everyone, I'm finally back with lots more time on my hands now that I'm out of school. I apologize for not posting for a while by the way. I had a lot of troubles going on in my life especially with the Caronavirus mess happening. Anyways I hope you enjoy my new chapter.
Later on things seemed to be a little more hopeful for Shelby. She saw Veronica more and more and got to know each other very well. Azura was happy knowing she finally made a true friend. One day while Azura was rainbow berry picking Maria was making a friendship card for a friend of hers. "Hopefully my card will be be done before tomorrow, it's for Katie my best friend." She said to Shelby. "Cool I bet she'll love it." Shelby said happily. After adding the finishing touches on her card a big smile spread across her face. "Yes done, I knew it would be finished!" She exclaimed as she packed it up and got ready to give it to Katie. "Thanks for all your help Shelby, your a great artist." Maria said as she cuddled her. "Just like you Maria." Shelby replied. After giggling Maria stood up to head out. "I'd better go, Katie's waiting for me see you later Shelby." She said as she flew out. "Yes, now I can finally make my friendship card." She said happily to herself as she climbed the shelves to get some supplies. "Mine'll need more color, and more fairy dust." As soon as she got a piece of colored paper out she got out some colored pencils and began drawing. She added hearts, stars, flowers, and smiley faces, she even wrote something sweet inside and decorated all of it with a pretty meadow and put a blue crescent moon at the top, once she was done drawing she got out a glue stick and some fairy dust and added some shine to the hearts flowers, stars and the moon inside. After looking at the finished card she smiled very proud of herself at her creation. "Perfect, it's ready now to hide it for when she comes back." After hiding her card she climbed back into the shelf to put her supplies away, when suddenly out of nowhere... "Shoot I forgot about my nail polish... WHAT ARE YOU DOING SHELBY!?" Maria gasped as she burst inside. "AHHHHH!!" Shelby screamed in fright, when suddenly she lost her balance and a wave of magic shot out from her little hand and blasted the colored pencil box disintegrating it and sending broken pencils everywhere. "No my colored pencils!" Maria panicked. As Shelby made her way back down she slipped sending another wave ricocheteing at herself sending her smacking into the paint and accidentally rolling the crayons on the chair and the fairy dust jar off the desk shattering onto the floor. "Ouch that hu... whoa!" Shelby screamed slipping on some paint and banging into the shelves sending more paint and glue onto the desk and floor even some landing on Maria. When Shelby finally regained her balance and control of herself she looked over at Maria, whose face was steaming mad. "SHELBY WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY STUFF!?" She screamed angrily. Shelby gasped and jumped back frightened. "Maria I... I just..." "YOU DESTROYED MY ART SUPPLIES AND RUINED MY DESK WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, YOU LITTLE NUT!!!" Maria ranted interrupting Shelby. She stammered, "I... It was an accident Maria I didn't mean to...!" "I DON'T WANNA HEAR IT!!" Maria ranted refusing to even listen to her. During her tantrum Shelby's card for her fell behind her feet out of her hiding place. "YOU'RE NOTHING BUT AN INSIGNIFICANT SPEAK... BECAUSE OF YOU I HAVE TO SPEND THE NEXT WEEK CLEANING ALL OF THIS UP AND FINDING NEW ART SUPPLIES, THANKS FOR NOTHING CLUTZ!!!" Maria grabbed her polish and stormed out of the house stepping on Shelby's card tearing it and slamming the door hard. Shaken, deeply hurt, and distraught from Maria's rant and the sight of her torn card on the floor Shelby broke down on her bed sobbing loudly.
Hours later Shelby got back up still hurt from everything Maria had said to her. She looked up at the night sky and sat herself down on the windowsill. "I can't believe she was so mean to me like that, I was just doing something nice for her. But she didn't appreciate me at all, she just got mad and scared me into falling and breaking her things it's not fair... I can't stay here anymore." She told herself as tears fell from her eyes. At that moment she grabbed a nap sac from the closet and started packing some things, then when she finished she returned to the back window for a moment.

"One day not so far away the night won't seem so lonely, one day in every way, that someone will care for me. And it warms my heart to know that I'll be loved, but for now it's just... one day." She sang. During her song Shelby's wings began to glow, and as she walked away from the window a magic shooting star appeared above the house. After packing up a picture of Azura and herself she started toward the front window, with a heavy heart she took one last glance around the house and at the card she just threw out. "There's a place I sometimes go when I need a little hope, in my dreams I always see beyond the strife. There nobody sheds a tear, there nobody has a fear and it makes me smile for a little while, for I know that one day my dream will come to life!" Little did Shelby know her magic voice had triggered the star's arrival and was getting ready to take her away. "Let's see if she misses me after I'm gone, I bet she won't!" She said. Suddenly a bright magical wind wave from the star began to suck Shelby inside. "Huh... no wait this is not what I had in mind whoa... AAHHHHHHHH!!! She screamed as the magic star swept her away. She twisted and turned fluttering her wings struggling to steady herself but when she did she got a good look and it hit her, this was her chance to start her search! A big smile spread across her face as her song continued. "This may be the day I have my star to wish upon, this day I'll fly away to find where I belong. And I smile because I'm flying towards a place that soars to find... my oooooone fiiiiiinne daaaaaayy!!" Soon after Azura came home with some new fairy dust and fresh fruit and berries for supper. "Shelby I'm home... Shelby?" She called but there was no answer. Where are you dear, I know you're here somewhere... you're frightening me my dear please come out... Shelby... Shelby!?" She flew frantically all around the house looking for her, but she was nowhere to be found. "Shelby where are you, please come out!" She called again with a break in her voice, she desperately searched everywhere but then she gasped after finding the desk a mess and art supplies everywhere. "Oh my..." She was then interrupted when she got a glimpse of a moving light in the sky that looked just like Shelby's magic. She gasped and ran to the window to look closer and within a second it disappeared. "No... SHELBY PLEASE COME BACK!!" She shouted as she broke down in tears distraught at the disappearance of her daughter. It was undoubtedly clear that Shelby was gone.

After an hour of flying for miles within the star Shelby finally arrived at her surprise destination. She looked down and saw a meadow filled with different colors of flowers and many small fairy houses. She couldn't wait to get down to the ground to see everything and soon enough the star lowered her gently placing her in the village. "Whoa!!!!" She gasped in amazement as she took a big glimpse of the village, but the thing that got her attention more is the sight of young fairies and pixies coming out of their houses one by one. "Hey everybody look a new arrival!" Called a little fairy as her friends and neighbors glanced at Shelby with big smiles on their faces. She stared back not knowing what to do, but more and more fairies gathered and they then began to dance, sing, and cheer. Shelby grew so excited that she started to dance with everyone which got her laughing with delight. Soon everyone came to a stop and one fairy turned to her. "We're all here to personally welcome you to Fairy Meadow!" She said as all the little fairies cheered happily for their new arrival. "Wow I've never had a welcome like this before!" Shelby told everyone. "We welcome all new fairies just like this actually." One of the girls told her. "Oh so it's not because you appreciate me being here is it?" She frowned. "Oh sure we do, especially the youngest of newbies." She replied as Shelby smiled, but before she could answer a young pixie suddenly darted right by fast as a whirlwind. "Hey down there!" She called as she came to a landing. She was about 7 years old, she had long braided red hair purple eyes and wings and she was clothed in a violet colored dress. "Wow you're a great flyer, and really fast too." Shelby said joyfully. "Thanks, the name's Violet by the way." She introduced. "Hi I'm Shelby, so what is this place exactly?" "This is Fairy Meadow the place where young fairies come if they get lost or in danger, or if they are looking to find new discoveries." Then another young pixie who was only a little shorter than Violet stepped into the chat. She appeared to be 6 and she had brown hair, and a hot pink dress and wings. "You bet it's so cool but not many adult fairies come here so we're totally ready to find us some new friends wherever we can, and it's so exciting now that you're here hehehehe." She said in a high fast pace voice. "Wow I guess you must be but there must be great things you haven't seen here right?" Shelby asked. "Well everyone here is really nice and it's so pretty here, but it's not... home. Said another pixie who was just a few inches taller than Shelby, she had her blonde hair in two high pony tails, she wore a no sleeve yellow dress and she had sparkling yellow wings. "Well like Saffron and Kathleen I haven't been here long but I've pretty much explored every inch of this place now I'm ready to see what's at the next river, the next forest or even the next mountain. "Wow!" Shelby said smiling then suddenly she heard a familiar voice call. "Shelby is that you?" "Huh where...?" Before she could say anything she spun around and spotted her new best friend. "Over here it's me Veronica!" She smiled as she ran to the group waving. "Veronica it is you!" She said gleefully as she hugged her tight. "I missed you so much Shelby." Veronica told her. "Me too, I know it wasn't that long but it felt like forever." "Awwwwww." Kathleen said. "Ooo so you two know each other how cool is that? "Violet stated. "Tell me about it girl!" They said together. "So Shelb' what brings you here to fairly meadow?" She asked. "I guess I'm looking for a place where I'm appreciated and loved." Shelby replied. "Ooo not a bad start if you found us and have adventure in mind right?" Kathleen added and everyone laughed at her enthusiasm. Then out of nowhere a strange shadowy bubble comes toward the ground then pops to reveal another Jade who looked practically identical to Veronica only her long hair was down instead of in two ponytails and she wore a very dark purple dress that came past her knees. "Hey couldn't help but overhear some fairies are looking for adventure, Jade's the name helping fairies is my game." All the girls except for Veronica said hi to her then Shelby stepped up. "What's this for Jade, we going somewhere?" "If you and the girls are up to it, it's a trip to the gleaming Crystal Palace where I hear is the best place in Fairytopia especially when the Enchantress who lives there offers to grant your wishes." Jade explained and Kathleen jumped up in surprise. "Really that would be the best ever!" "Not quite I heard anyone who ever went there disappeared never to be seen again." Warned an unsure Saffron and everyone turned to her but then Jade spoke up again. "I wouldn't buy that rumor cuz once you're there you wanna stay forever you just trust me and you'll be on your way to making all your dreams come true." Violet turned to the girls unsure on what to do. "Uhh so what do you think girls?" "I'm in!" Kathleen said quickly. "Me too!" Shelby agreed and they all turned to Veronica. "Well I'm a little unsure since this came out of nowhere but ok I feel better with you girls anyway." She said reluctantly. "Alright then let's go girls." Jade said as she led everyone to the pathway gate. Shelby hung back for a bit happily lost in thought. "Wow my first adventure on my own without any adults this is so great... hey w... w... wait for me!" After catching up with her new friends Jade shows the adult fairy her card and after he opens the gate they rise to the air off to find the Palace. The girls play cheer and laugh on the way loving every minute of their adventure so far but they grew unaware that Jade had fallen behind. Once the girls get to a tiny forest Shelby finally grew aware that Jade wasn't around now and she turned around to look for her. "Wow I could get used to a place like this." Saffron said playfully as Shelby caught up looking a little concerned. "Hey where's Jade?" She asked. "Oh weird I thought she was here." Violet said. "Eh not a problem I'm kinda used to that anyway." Kathleen said as she sat down on the soil. "Well I guess we've got nothing better to do while we wait for her huh?" Violet agreed. "Yeah but I was wondering, how'd you get sent to the meadow Vi?" Shelby asked curiously and Saffron along with Kathleen scooted closer to listen as Violet began. "Ok so it starts out like this me and my parents were collecting food, and we didn't have a lot of time so we rushed making winds as we flew around. I always thought I was the best flier so I wanted to try something out, I tried to make a daring dive for fun but I couldn't control myself yet and next thing I knew I crashed into a river." The girls gasped. "Yeah my flying wasn't too good then but I lucked out when a water fairy carried me to shore saving me, but after she left I realized that my parents were gone!" She explained. "Seriously!?" Shelby asked surprisingly. "Yup I looked and looked for my family but I couldn't find them anywhere and I felt so forgotten. For a while I was all by myself until I bumped into Kathleen." Kathleen nodded. "I was an orphan too, we became best fairy friends for life and lived in the meadow together since." "Wow." Shelby said in awe. Then they suddenly heard Jade laughing and stared at her sternly. "What a tragic story but with a happy ending right?" She said still giggling." I guess." Saffron replied puzzled. Jade quickly stood up forgetting what she heard. "Okay last one there gets snarkier than me!" Leading the little girls forward she hadn't noticed Shelby looking backwards. /Boy Violet had it rough, it must be hard losing family but at least she found a friend, kinda like me./ She thought, but before she could look up she and her friends found themselves in The Bloom. Despite her excitement though she finds that her friends have nervous faces and rushes to their side. "So I guess the palace is this way." Violet said pointing straight ahead. However Saffron looked worried. "Maybe we can get there before it gets too dark?" "Not unless you can fly hike a hurricane." Jade blurted shrugging. "You mean it's on the other side of the woods?" Kathleen asked. "Or maybe that mountain." Violet added wide eyed. But Shelby didn't seem as afraid as the others as she jumped in. "It may not be that bad here in The Bloom girls, it's right around where I lived so maybe I can help." Kathleen jumped happily. "Well why didn't you say so, go on Shelby hehehe." With everyone focused oh Shelby they we're unaware that Jade slipped away. She smirked at the other girls deviously knowing that her plan was working perfectly. After hours of traveling the girls find that it's getting dark, making things more dangerous and harder to see. "Uhh Shelby you sure we should go more, I can't see anything in the dark especially in here." Violet said worriedly. Shelby sighed and said, "You're right Violet, we'd better stop tonight girls we don't wanna get caught by any monsters..." Suddenly she heard a very loud growl which made her jump out of her shoes. "Or a bear!" She added but Kathleen pressed her shoulder. "Actually that was my stomach, I forgot to pack food before we left." "Oh, I already went through all my snacks too, so now what?" Shelby asked when they suddenly heard a chomping sound. However to their surprise it was Saffron who had a whole bag of fruit, cheese and crackers with her. "What... oh I'm more than happy to share." She said kindly. "Thank you Saffron, here I'll help make a fire for us." Kathleen offered. Soon all the little girls were sharing a camp fire, roasting their food joyfully while they told stories. "Boy I always loved having fires like this with my parents at home, we roasted veggies and sweets almost all the time." Violet told her friends. "Same here, we did this especially on cold nights since my sunlight could set one up anytime." "That's cool Saffron, my momma and I did the same thing especially with sweets like smores, what about you Kathleen?" Shelby asked. "We did... but it wasn't all good." Kathleen replied suddenly modest. "It wasn't, why?" Saffron asked curiously. "That's when I was separated from my parents." Kathleen then began her story. "It was a night like ours, quiet and starry. My parents and I were having a warm fire in the yard making dinner, and my daddy and I were laughing and playing chase. Later on after we were asleep somehow the fire got so big and hot it spread to our home. My momma carried me outside and went back to find my daddy. I waited for them but after that I heard creepy voices with them and then my momma screamed falling on the ground. I got so scared that I ran away and that's when I saw some warty guys running out. That was the last time I saw my parents but after I found Violet a few days later, things looked great for us both and I never lost my love of camp fires, cuz it keeps me close to my family and all the great times we had." The girls smiled as she concluded. "Wow Kat that's a good story." " Yeah I wish I could do this with you guys all the time." Shelby and Saffron said happily. "Thanks guys." She replied as she and her new friends continued their campfire dinner. When morning came in the Rustic Forest Shelby was the first to awaken. She was just getting to her feet when all of a sudden a young sparrow boy scoops Shelby up swing away with her on a vine. "HEEELLP!!" Shelby cried as Veronica snapped awake. "Shelby! Wake up girls she needs us!" Violet sat up yawning. "Shelby? Where is she?" Kathleen quickly got to her feet spotting her. "There she goes!" "HEEELLP!!" Shelby called again as her friends began running after her voice. "Put me down you snotty swinging boy creep!" Shelby demanded struggling as he landed on a tree branch throwing her in front. "You don't scare me... uh but you do." She said jumping back at a mean looking black bird in front of her. When the sparrow boy suddenly made a roaring sound with a blowout horn he had with him scaring the Raven away. Shelby sighed with relief as he turned to her. "Name's Hogey keeper of the Rustic Forest. You're beautiful." He said as he without warning gave her a very slobbery kiss on the cheek. "Ew that's gross! Sorry but I'm out of here." She exclaimed pushing him away. "Better believe you are, get lost! Veronica snapped angrily pushing Hogey off the branch where he was tangled by a hammock of vines. Veronica swung to him grasping one as she smirked triumphantly. "Looks like I wi..." She stopped mid sentence at a chewing sound, realizing he was gnawing at her vine. "you wouldn't!" She taunted, but the gnawing continued until it broke. "You would... WHOOAAAA!!!" Veronica screamed as the vine snapped and plummeted to the ground with her. "Hang on Veronica!" Shelby called as she swooped down and grabbed her in the air. The other pixies ran to their side as Veronica was lowered safely to the ground. "Whoa you girls were awesome, and look we made it through, come on!" Violet said excitedly! "The Agrinoli Mountains, we found them! I think after this we're there!" Shelby replied. "Hooray let's go!" Kathleen exclaimed. "You sure, I mean you said you wanted to be appreciated." Saffron reminded Shelby. "Not exactly what I had in mind." She replied as she left with her group. Hogey sighed watching them leave, then flew away after a moment.
Meanwhile back in Fairy Town Azura was still searching for her lost daughter even asking the other guardians in the process, but to no avail. After hearing about Shelby's disappearance, Elina kindly agreed to help find her, with Dandelion and her mother staying back to look at the Magic Meadow. Once Elina and Bibble arrived at the cottage she immediately found Azura who was sadly looking at a portrait of her with an infant Shelby. "Azura are you okay?" She asked hesitantly. Azura snapped out of her thoughts and turned to Elina. "I'm alright. Thank you for coming my dear. I don't know where Shelby is but I do know she was by the window when she left." She explained. "Well it may be best to look all around Fairy Town. She hardly ever goes far without you so that should at least give us a start." Elina suggested with determination in her eyes. "Perhaps you're right." Azura replied in agreement as they split up to find her. However after over an hour of searching Azura returned with no sign of Shelby, and it wasn't long before Elina came back afterwards. "Elina did you have any luck at all?" Azura asked hopefully. "No I'm sorry Azura, I've looked everywhere in Fairy Town. Shelby's not here, and Bibble didn't have any luck either." Elina said remorseful. "Uh uh." Bibble said shaking his head. "Oh my precious little girl, I wish I understood why she'd run off." Azura said sinking down on her bed sadly. "Well she must have had some reason for it right? Then Maria suddenly arrived noticing their exhausted appearance. "Hey guys... whoa you look like you were in a big rush jam." She taunted. Elina turned to her disturbingly. "Where have you been?" "I've been hanging with Katie, and I'm lucky I finished my friendship card for her before my desk got wrecked." She replied grudgingly. "I've told you before that desk is not yours Maria, you don't live here." Azura said sternly. "Well my art supplies was there before that puny pixie charbroiled it. I gotta say it's been blissfully quiet and easy for me not hearing a peep from her for a while." She argued bringing shock to Azura and Elina. "Hold it are you saying you don't care that she isn't here!?" She asked getting very serious. "Hey what's the big deal now she can't wreck anything else so I don't have to pay for the damage." Maria kept sassing them as Bibble suddenly spotted a clue. "Ocelinabidiu!" He chirped. "What is it Bibble?" Elina asked as Azura picked up the torn card gasping. "Oh my, this card was for Maria. Shelby must have made this for her." Azura said shocked. "But it's crushed and torn up, and I think I know how." Elina replied glaring at Maria. "She made that for me, you're serious?" She asked barely noticing Elina. "Alright Maria spill it, what happened?" Elina ordered angrily. "I kinda stepped on it after I yelled at her, but she ruined my stuff!" She demanded not listening. "You scared her into losing control of her powers didn't you? It's your fault she ran off with no trace! What is the matter with you Maria!!" Azura shouted. "Hey serves her right for climbing all over the shelf destroying everything!! Maria once again raved back as Bibble grunted. Azura was also fed up with Maria's nonsense as she angrily faced her. "Maria I've had enough of your back talking! I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to go." Azura said very sternly. "What you're kicking me out, how is that fair?" She protested. "LEAVE NOW!!!" Azura snapped enraged. "You know what fine! I already have the friends that I want so I don't need to babysit the squirt anymore hmm!" Maria taunted as she finally turned to leave Fairy Town slamming the door. "Ipatusassipoof! Bibble taunted back. "I can't believe she treated Shelby like that, she's no better than she was before she could fly! How could she be so mean?" Elina asked herself hardly noticing Azura turned away. "Elinapoof?" Bibble said getting her attention. She turned as Azura fell to her knees crying. "Oh Shelby I'm so sorry, this never should've happened to you. Forgive me for being so blind." She sobbed. Elina placed her comforting arms around her friend with Bibble following. "Don't cry Azura, we'll find her wherever she is, I promise." She assured her as she looked out in the distance hoping with all her heart that Shelby would return soon.
To be continued...
