After exploring every inch of their surroundings only 3 artifacts were found and a total of 131 explorer notes,1 boss fight with the manticore and nothing mentioned about a tek cave. Freya felt defeated; it took them 4 days to find everything and they still came back empty handed.
Freya sighed before looking up at the sky night was upon them. The night sky looked so beautiful here without the city lights obstructing your view. The only upside to the notes was getting a better understanding of what had happened here so long ago.
Freya looked out her window and saw Itachi down below next to his wyverns. His wyverns should be fully matured tomorrow. Just what was this man doing to her? Every time they would meet each other's gaze she would get butterflies in her stomach.
Did she like him more than a friend? What would happen if she told him? She was nervous. Freya quickly snapped out of her thoughts when she noticed he was looking at her. Freya quickly hid from view and decided not to think about it anymore.
Itachi was busy battling his own thoughts. He was in love with her. Part of his past was holding him back. What if Freya ended up dying? He couldn't bear to lose her too. Itachi finished up taking care of his wyverns and decided to head to bed.
Itachi was soon woken up to the sound of thunder and heavy wind. He couldn't hear the generator running at all. He went to turn his light on and nothing. The power was out.
A loud crash of thunder sounded and he could have sworn he heard Freya cried out. He got up and left his room only to stop at her door when a loud crash of thunder sounded once more. This time his hunch was right he heard Freya cry out again. He opened her door and found her hiding under her covers.
"Freya, are you ok?" He asked her. "I'm scared of thunder." She told him her voice muffled a bit from being under the covers. Itachi chuckled at how she was acting.he lifted the covers and looked at her. She was holding her knees and hiding her head. Itachi sighed before throwing back the covers completely "scoot over." He told her.
Freya lifted her head and looked at him in confusion. "What?" She asked him. Itachi physically moved her over making her squeal out as he got in bed beside her. "What are you doing?" She asked nervously. Itachi chuckled "I'm not gonna leave you in here terrified while the storm is going on now come here and lay down." He told her.
Just by watching her nervously lay her head on his chest was to be honest cute. She looked at him with those pale green eyes before a crash of thunder sounded making her cry out in fear. Itachi held her close to where she could hear his heart beating. For her it was relaxing and before she knew it she had drifted off to sleep.
Itachi could hear her breathing softly, figuring she was asleep. He wanted to kiss her again the moment she looked at him but he knew he shouldn't. He could hear the storm start to die down as the generator kicked back on but he didn't dare move to wake her. It wasn't long before he had fallen asleep too.
Freya was the first to wake and noticed Itachi was still here with her. He looked so peaceful sleeping. Freya smiled softly at him 'oh Itachi Uchiha what are you doing to me?' She thought to herself just as Itachi began to stir. "You know it's kind of creepy you staring at me like that." He told her.
Freya blushed "I uhh s-sorry. T-thank you for last night. I didn't think I would be able to sleep at all." She told him. Itachi finally sat up and stretched his arms "it's nothing. I'm just glad me being here helped you." Freya nodded and smiled, pulling her knees up to her chest once again. Itachi got up and left her room. Freya sighed and decided to get out of bed herself.
They were going to check out the obelisk today to see if they hold any clue on how to leave this land to go home. "So should we pack everything up just in case or should we wait?" Freya asked. "Maybe pack everything up. I would say. We have plenty of stuff to take with us and there's five of us so it shouldn't be too bad." Sasori replied.
Freya nodded before she went to cryopod her dinos. And get the blueprints. With everyone's dinos cryopodded and made sure they had everything they needed for the journey. The 5 left their base in the southern east canyon to the red obelisk. Freya hopped off her wyvern and went to the terminal and activated it. "Are you kidding me?" She yelled.
"What is it un?" Deidara asked. Freya looked at her companions "We could have left this whole time!" She yelled. "Are you serious? So we wasted time being here when we could have just left." Kisame said. Freya nodded "we wouldn't have had to deal with the manticore either. Thanks to it we have to do some more breeding to get back what we lost." Sasori added. Freya nodded again "well it doesn't matter now. All that matters is we are going home and getting out of this desert." She said before cryopodding her wyvern. Everyone did the same before leaving the desert wasteland behind.
A/N: ok guys this is the last of scorched earth. Aberration is about to begin. I know this series is shorter than the island but I ran out of things to do for scorched since it technically wasn't an ascension map. So I hope everyone enjoyed reading this series and I'll be working on and posting Aberration real soon!
