Summary:

Where Tsuna's in a good mood, until he's not anymore.

Notes:

(Errata/note¹: In the last chapter we did not put this note because frankly it lacked space, but these notes with numbers symbolize moments in history that we do not narrate directly and will only mention that they happened, because they would be long by themselves and not they would contribute a lot to the plot, as well as being a good moment or fanservice. When we have enough of these, if you are interested, we will create an additional story with each of these moments. Please leave your thoughts in the comments!)

The other notes, due to the fact that one of the authors, JonaX, is sick, will be published as soon as possible. Thanks for understanding. Part of this chapter was helped in translation thanks to Sayumii, thank you very much!

Target 424 - Tell Me Who You Train With, I'll Tell You Who You Are

The wind gently hit his face, the smell of earth invaded his nostrils and a sense of peace he hadn't felt in a long time bathed his heart.

The view was not something to be despised either. Golden. Golden rice fields covered the gentle hills as far as the eye could see.

However, without a doubt, what made him feel fulfilled in that rare moment of peace in his troubled life, was undoubtedly the figure sitting next to him, clothes against the damp earth, having no problem getting dirty.

"You know…" - She said, her red hair like the sky at dusk being kissed by the wind as she spoke in her angelic voice. - Whenever I look at these fields, I can't help but remember you.

That made him blink, turning his confused gaze to the young woman who had the right to say she held her heart in her hands.

Even with such dangerous hands.

- The gold of your hair reminds me of the golden rice fields that cover these hills. - She continued closing her honey-eyes, letting the breeze envelop her. - Sawada, it's a good name, isn't it?

- Sawada… - He repeated, also closing his own eyelids, being the last to see her long ebony hair, contrasting with her pale skin. -…Sounds good.

-.-.-

A smile painted his lips when he woke up, it took him a while to realize that he wasn't in any meadow, but in his own bed.

He sighed in disappointment, but at the same time, the warm feeling in his chest hadn't diminished in the slightest as he realized that this had only been a dream.

Before getting up, he mentally replayed what he had dreamed, hoping the dream wouldn't go away. Unfortunately most of the details were gone as more awareness hit him, however, he still remembered an open, golden field and someone beside him.

"It can only be Kyoko." - He thought remembering the woman's smile, although he no longer remembered what she said, but he was sure it had something to do with his name.

Sawada.

"When was the last time I had such a good dream?" - He asked himself getting up and stretching, not even the clock that struck four in the morning ruined his mood.

How would he do it? The day before, after the Mascarpone fiasco, he and Kyoko had started a second attempt, and before going to Hana's house, where she would sleep that night, the redhead had assured him that they would run again the next day.

So, despite the "cheesy" disappointment, he rushed home that night, ready to go to bed early to start the next day on the right foot.

He got up without being begged and set out to grab his running clothes, seeing out of the corner of his eye how Reborn's sleep bubble had burst at the movement of his strangely excited student for a Monday morning.

- Buongiorno, Reborn! - He wished absently for the assassin with a smile.

- Buon- But he stopped the answer he was about to give out of pure reflex, frowning slightly while without waiting for an answer his student walked abnormally happy to the bathroom.

If he were a normal person, Reborn would attribute what he heard from his student to his confusion for still being sleepy.

But he was the best assassin in the world, he didn't make that kind of mess.

With that in mind, he changed into his own pajamas and set out to follow him. Even though he changed quickly, he was surprised to see that his student was no longer in the bathroom, but in the kitchen.

- Tsuna? - He called to see how he measured the amount of coffee needed inside the dispenser, as he had guided him, while biting his tongue out a little in concentration.

- Hmm? - Therefore, the murmur was his only answer that he was hearing.

- Good Morning.

The Vongola blinked in confusion for a second, then smiled again and said in his native language.

- Good Morning!

"Strange." - The assassin thought going to the kitchen table and jumping to sit down, not failing to realize how much mother and son can look alike when very happy.

This aura of silly, innocent bliss was almost sickening, not to mention the amount of flames it threw into the air, like that time after their conversation, and like that occasion, they were invisible to the eye yet easily felt.

- You look very happy, besides waking up alone.

- I had a really good dream, so it put me in a good mood. - He explained, taking off his gloves, transforming them and burning them as he held an Italian teapot with water and coffee already set. Reborn couldn't help but find the scene peculiar, despite having done the same thing when he taught him how to make coffee the day before.¹ - That's why I went down to make coffee before Kyoko arrived, that way we'd buy time. (Errata/note¹: In the last chapter we did not put this note because frankly it lacked space, but these notes with numbers symbolize moments in the story that we do not narrate directly and will only be mentioned what happened, because they would be long by themselves and would not contribute much to the plot, as well as being a nice moment or fanservice. When we have enough of these, if you're interested, we'll create an extra story with each of these moments. Please leave your thoughts in the comments!)

- Hmmm… - It was his turn to mutter an answer, still following the opposite movements, which still began to hum, making his resemblance to Nana only increase. - Are you and Kyoko making an Italian recipe?

He suspected that their newfound desire to learn how to make coffee had something to do with their culinary adventures.

- Yes, Kyoko yesterday even told me some Italian words that were in the recipe, your language is funny. - He offered concentrating on boiling the coffee.

"So that's where Buongiorno came from." - The assassin's smile widened as an idea came to him, and it only intensified when he felt a shiver run down the younger's spine.

- Glad you're getting interested in this kind of stuff before I tortu… I say, motivate you. - He said ignoring the accusatory cry of "You were going to say torture!" - It's about time you started learning Italian.

Instead of answering, the brunette swallowed hard, focusing on finishing the coffee first, afraid that there would be new leaks¹, one of the very few situations in the world that Reborn accepted to wait for an answer.

It wasn't until he was ready and laid out in a thermos that the brunette sat at the table, still wearing his gloves, frowning as the tutor helped himself.

-...Learning Italian... Will it hurt?

Usually a student's question before starting to study a new language was whether it was difficult, but Reborn was happy with his student's wit.

- Useless-Tsuna, and when my lesson didn't hurt? - The aforementioned sighed in defeat, but honestly he was much less protestant than he imagined he would be.

-...Alright, I think. In fact, I'm kind of curious about it… - He confessed, although clearly afraid of how the whole process would turn out, feeling that he would regret it later. - Not for all this Mafia stuff! But yes… Because it's the native language of most of my friends, I'd like to understand a little more, especially the things Lambo keeps muttering.

But all that conversation took a back seat when the brunette heard someone knocking at the door.

- It must be Kyoko! - He said getting up happily.

- Tsuna. - But before he could leave the kitchen, the assassin called him. - You didn't forget that you have to talk about flames with Haru too, did you? - Again that made the opposite body tremble. - Or are you postponing it on purpose? Saturday you even had an excuse, but yesterday she was here and you didn't say anything.

The youngest sighed, swallowing hard, squeezing the threshold that led to the entrance hall tightly with his fingers, cracking it slightly, due to the gloves he was still wearing, his eyes glowed orange in that instant, even if his back was to the assassin.

- If you intend to spare her, just because she has no blood relationship with any of the guardians, I must remind you that Yamamoto scheduled training with her this afternoon. If you're not going to do anything, then I'm going to-

- No! - He interrupted, his voice resounding and steady, his eyes bright and his forehead on fire as he activated Hyper Mode again. - You agreed to let me handle it.

Reborn smiled again.

- I agreed, but didn't say how long I would keep away. - That made a disgusted expression take over the brunette's face. - So your deadline ends today. After all, Yamamoto and Gokudera will do the work for you if you don't.

- It's not that I don't trust them… - He began, his flames ironically dying as he calmed down. - But I want to deal with it, I want to make sure the girls are ready. - He sighed long when the doorbell rang again. - Alright, I'll talk to Haru today.

And he was about to walk to the entrance when something occurred to him.

- Reborn. - Named a thoughtful expression on his face - Do the guys know that I know about Haru's secret training?

The assassin's smile, if possible, widened further.

- No. - Said simple.

It made sense, after all, if they knew, it wouldn't be secret anymore and they would certainly be here weaving explanations and excuses.

So, for the first time, Tsuna accompanied his tutor smiling at the same time, without saying anything to go to the door, with a clear idea in mind.

- Who knew, it seems that this boy after all has some sadistic streak. - Reborn considered to himself, taking a sip of his drink. - And your watery coffee definitely still needs improvement.

-.-.-.-

December 19th, Monday, five days before the Christmas Party and the arrival of CEDEF.

The morning run happened normally, however, like the day before, Tsuna felt followed, and he just hadn't warned Kyoko or approached his pursuer, as he didn't feel any dangerous intentions or even any flame, assuming it was the Disciplinary Committee again.

Reborn would probably condemn him for being too trusting, but he was in too good a mood to worry about that at the moment.

So he did his best to ignore it, following his conversation with Kyoko about flames that beautiful morning, however, when the young girl said goodbye to him on a corner to organize to participate in the choir that morning, leaving him alone, it became much more difficult to ignore the eyes that followed him everywhere.

Kyoko had told him to keep running a little longer so that everything would be ready when he got home, and that was what he intended to do.

Run alone.

That is, with no one following him.

So he stopped, sensing that his follower stopped too. He still didn't understand why it was bothering him so much lately, it's not like he's had control over his life since Reborn embarked on it, let alone privacy most of the time.

At first he thought it was because of Kyoko, because so many eyes got in his way at a time when he could be alone with the girl he liked.

And yet here he was, "alone," and still troubled.

For a second he considered approaching the person, hopefully it would be Kusakabe, who would surely be understanding about leaving him alone, but he quickly discarded the idea. It could have been any other committee member, and frankly most of them scared him too much to want to approach anyone.

So another thought occurred to him, that frankly irritating detail hadn't really shaken his good mood, and how he needed to stall a little longer before turning back and his pursuer seemed so willing...

Why not make things a little more difficult?

Maybe he was spending too much time with Reborn, but the idea just seemed fun when he thought about it.

With that in mind, he closed his eyes and concentrated, for in a few seconds his flames exploded on his forehead, only then reopening his eyes with a flanked smile.

- Time to speed up a little...

-.-

Mochida let out a squeal and fell to the ground on his backside, his eyes wide as plates as he saw how Tsuna ran at a frankly superhuman speed completely disappearing from view, along with the dark aura of his ring.

- How can that be possible?! - He exclaimed in disbelief, seeing that he couldn't even make out his figure on the horizon anymore. - He was possessed by a runner by any chance?!

-.-

In turn, Tsuna was impressed with how quickly his pursuer had given up, not really considering that even his guardians would have difficulty following him with the speed he had reached, let alone a civilian.

Focusing only on the presence behind him, he paid no real attention to where he was going, letting his feet guide him and perhaps his Hyper Intuition.

He didn't know if it was because he was finally starting to listen to it like Reborn had always told him to do, but it seemed more present every day, especially with simple things, like choosing which way to turn on the street, until it warned him that he was being followed.

Ever since he said goodbye to Mochida yesterday, it seemed more present than ever.

Whatever the reason, it was a little tiring, like a permanent nuisance in his head that gave him the most random and vague instructions. He was seriously starting to wonder if wasn't a way to turn this thing off so he could have a moment of peace without caring about anything in the world.

However, it faded into the background when he realized that his feet had taken him to Namimori's shrine. Without thinking about it too much, he started up the stairs, realizing that the climbing exercise was far less exhausting than it had been in the past. Seemed like that the morning jog was really good for something.

Not really noticing that he was still in Hyper Mode.

When he reached the top of the stairs, he sat down to enjoy the sunrise. Seeing how the orange sky gradually took on an almost purplish hue, due to the clouds that covered it, and then it changed to a limpid blue in a smooth but constant transition.

He'd never liked being alone, had spent too many years of his life without friends to really appreciate the feeling.

Yet, now, with no eyes following him, watching him with apprehension, anticipation, or making decisions for himself, just him and the dawn sky, he couldn't help but feel a heady sensation envelop him alongside his flames.

"Maybe this is the sense of freedom that Hibari cherishes so much?" - He considered it, rambling, enjoying the silence like few times in his life.

His thoughts had turned to the temperamental Cloud and the reasons why the Committee was following him, then to Haru, Yamamoto and Gokudera and the conversation they would inevitably have.

He had already decided to surprise them, maybe give them a little scare, by showing that he knew what they were doing, but honestly still didn't know what to say directly.

So maybe it was a coincidence, as his whole train of thought came from Hibari, or again it was his Hyper Intuition meddling, using the most unclear way of informing him of the presence of others. Anyway, as if he had been summoned, he spotted the figure of the President of Namimori Chuugaku walking around and seeing the Sky at the top of the stairs, he raised an eyebrow and started to climb towards him.

As contradictory as it was, once he found himself enjoying his solitude as he rarely had the opportunity, the fact that the opposite presence was approaching didn't bother him in the least.

At least he wasn't following him, he could see from the opposite expression that Hibari actually looked surprised to see him there.

Kyoya was on his morning round when he felt the familiar Sky Flames emanating in waves from somewhere nearby. Like a carnivore guided by the scent of fresh meat, he followed the direction, finding its source.

Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that he was like a moth being attracted to light, but he was too proud to call himself an insect.

If the Sky, always surrounded by people, being alone wasn't strange enough, that it was in Hyper Mode sitting where in Byakuran's future would be one of the entrances to the secret Vongola base, apparently enjoying the sunrise, made all a peculiar portrait to say the least.

That, more than anything, practically dragged him up the stairs and to question the Sky, determined to bite the other to death depending on the answer, just for stealing his attention like that and getting in the way of his rounds.

- Little Animal.

- Good morning, Hibari.

The older one internally wanted to ask a few questions to the younger one, who with all the tranquility in the world just smiled at his presence without changing, but as he wasn't the talkative type, he limited himself to one.

- What are you doing?

- I was running, but I stopped for a while to watch the sunrise. Honestly, I never noticed how beautiful it is, and the view from here is amazing.

- Hmm… - Was his only answer, although he sincerely expected the other to say why he was in Hyper Mode, and not what he was doing sitting there.

- The last three times I was here, when I was in an argument with Reborn, before we went to the Choice, and when we fought those thieves together in the new year. I honestly had almost no good memories of this place, but seeing it now, in a rare moment of peace, I think I understand why one of the entrances to the base was here, the view is really beautiful and the place is very quiet and empty.

Not to mention the blundering explanation of the bucket, this was possibly the only time the brunette boy had spoken to him the most on his own initiative, in the nearly two years they'd known each other.

The resourcefulness he possessed in his Hyper Mode was really weird.

-...But I better get back, otherwise I'll be late for work again. - He said, getting up and with all the calm in the world cleaning his clothes. - That reminds me, Hibari, I'm glad you're here. I wanted to ask you something. - Taking the opposite "Hmm" as an affirmative, he followed. - Why have you been ordering the Disciplinary Committee to follow me?

The aforementioned only frowned, willing to bite his men to death for being discovered like this.

Not that he really ever expected to be questioned by the brunette himself about his actions, it looked like someone's claws had grown a little.

Just a little.

For a second, he even considered answering, perhaps the influence of that warm and comforting atmosphere that emanated from the brunette boy, but then he remembered that he was Hibari Kyoya, and the smaller one needed much more than that to get a direct answer from him.

- I don't owe you any explanation, Little Animal. - He said, crossing his arms. - This is my city, and I do what I want in it.

Again, the smaller one didn't even change his statement. The calm he exuded was paradoxically, almost intimidating.

- It was Reborn. - It wasn't a question. Then he descended a step, placing him again, in all his short stature, in front of Cloud. - He's been acting weird since I had a fever at the sports festival.

- And on Saturday you got sick again. - Tsuna blinked slightly surprised to notice the slightly accusing tone of the older man. - You are disregarding your own health too much. If the Herbivores get loud about this, I'll bite you to death.

To prove his point, the Cloud took off his tonfas, but the only thing he got in return was a smile.

- You're worried about me. - Those statements, as if he could read him definitely started to piss him off, so he lunged forward focusing a blow against the opposite right cheek just out of spite.

A blow that didn't hit its target, because the brunette nimbly jumped back.

- Sorry if I irritated you Hibari, but knowing that makes me very happy… - He confessed, shrugging his shoulders as if he hadn't just escaped an attack. - Even if we are not very close, I still consider you my friend. So, thanks for worrying, I'll try to take better care of myself.

It was probably the first time he'd seen Hyper Mode so talkative and friendly.

He preferred the dry and coarse version.

On closer inspection, there seemed to be something odd about the brunette today, he somehow looked slightly different, although he couldn't explain why.

Perhaps it was because of his boldness, so he was about to strike again to get those sentimental ideas out of his head, when he spoke again:

- But if it's because of that, could you ask them to stop? I'm fine today, honestly. I feel particularly great.

- And why would I listen to you, Little Animal? - He said, resuming his posture.

As for that, Tsuna flanked his head like Chrome used to do.

- And why would you listen to Reborn? - He asked sincerely. - I thought you didn't take orders from anyone.

This time Hibari smiled, despite the clear affront.

- Very good. I will withdraw my men then, Sawada Tsunayoshi. However, if you cause any trouble in my city, I will bite you to death and take all your money for repairs. - He affirmed pointing to him with his tonfas.

- Hiiiie! Do not do this! - Hyper Mode had collapsed with the threat, bringing with it, the usual nervous Tsuna, who was struggling with the mere possibility of starting from scratch again. - Please, I only have five days now! If I lose all the money again, I won't make it!

- That's not my problem. - And he was about to go, ignoring the younger wails, when he stopped, as if remembering something.

- Oh, Hibari, wait! - This made him turn around, clearly annoyed at being called out with a shout. - Eeeeh… Your coat… It's not with me now, but my mother has already washed it, I would call him to go home and get it, but… - He hesitated, scratching the back of his head. -...At home now there will be a BIG crowd, so you want me to deliver it to your house? I don't know where it is, but… I didn't want to give Kusakabe trouble again.

- That's his job. - It was straight. - But you can leave it at school, with anyone on the committee.

-...Right. - He confirmed slightly disappointed, something that did not go unnoticed by the Cloud, but he just chose to ignore it. - …Hmm besides, I know it's a bit sudden, but…

- Stop stalling or I'll bite you to death.

- Hiiiie! Okay, okay… It's just that I… I wanted to ask you for advice.

This made the older man blink, turning completely to his pseudo boss, surprising himself not only that he was still talking to him now in his normal self, despite clear fear, but also daring to ask him for advice.

- Is that… You manage the entire Committee! So I thought that… - He was trying frantically to justify himself.

- Hmm.

-...Is that a yes?

Hibari frowned dangerously, clearly telling him to hurry up.

- Hiie! R-right, eeh… What would you do if one of the very important Committee members kept something from you, something that could put Namimori Chuugaku in danger? - He asked nervously, but seriously. A strangely particular combination.

Hibari stared at him for a few seconds, more trying to understand what the smaller one wanted with this, than necessarily thinking about his answer.

Because it was too obvious.

- I would bite them to death. - He said with a furious gleam in his eyes that made the other squeak. - Because I'm their boss. - He finished as if that was enough of an answer, to then add in a doubtful tone. - That's not your case, is it? I thought you weren't anyone's boss.

- And I'm not! - He hurried to say waving his arms frantically.

- So there's no reason to ask me for advice on dealing with your two Pets.

- I just…-Then he stopped. - Hey, wait, how did you know I was referring to Yamamoto and Gokudera? Did you also know they were hiding things from me? - Hibari was tempted to say one of his "Wow" by the slightly irritated tone of the younger boy, almost accusatory.

- It's written all over your face, Little Animal. - That's all he offered.

- Eeeh?! Damn it! Reborn will really kill me if he finds out I was discovered like this! - He lamented to himself.

And closing the matter in the face of Sky's irritating scandals, Hibari simply went down the stairs leaving the smaller one alone.

Not without first adding.

- Weren't you in a hurry?

- Hiiiie! It is true! - And he ran away, and even at his normal state, it made Hibari's hair fly when he passed by his side.

-...He can be really fast when he wants to. - He commented for no one, and then started calling Kusakabe, ready to bite him for being so indiscreet.

-.-.-.-

Again, Tsuna came skidding in front of his house. He then took a breath and opened the door, wondering who would be the additions this time.

With that in mind, he wasted no time in the entrance hall, quickly kicking off his shoes and stumbling to the kitchen and…

- On the seventh day of Christmas, my love gave me...

- ENMA! - He exclaimed happy to identify his best friend, smiling shyly, wearing a white bird outfit, whose only difference with the girls' outfit and the illusion-Kokuyo was his more curved neck.

-...Seven swans swimming... - And not just him, all Shimon were present, Shitt-P's fringe hair even was white to match his outfit.

But he could barely hear the rest of the song, other than the alarmed cry of "TSUNA!" when Reborn kicked him and sent him flying up the stairs.

- And I thought you learned to stop interrupting. - Grumbled the Hitman, leaving his student behind to finish his musical act.

- Hahii, are you okay, Tsuna? - Haru approached, helping the youngster to get up, which was Enma's intention at first, if he hadn't fallen halfway due to his limited movements and his clumsy way.

- Yes, I'm fine… I'm used to it. - For a moment he even considered questioning Miura about her secret training that same day, but he soon put that aside. There were too many people here to deal with this matter, and the possibility of surprising his friends had not yet been ruled out, so he limited himself to say: - Thank you, Haru.

- I can't believe I agreed to that. - Julie muttered, removing some feathers from his fantasy.

- HAHIIII! Don't ruin the clothes I made! - Haru exclaimed, leaving the brunette alone, allowing Kyoko, Chrome and Enma himself to approach, while surreptitiously the three Kokuyo illusions disappeared as they passed by Spanner, Irie and their two Mini Moskas.

- Are you really okay, Tsuna? - Said the redhead rubbing his sore nose.

However, before the brunette one could answer, Enma frowned, approaching his best friend, as if looking for something in particular.

-...Eh? What is it? - Asked the confused target while the girls looked at each other without understanding.

-...I don't know, but... - He started, as if he was confused about something. - You look different… Something happened while I was gone.

- Ah… Maybe it's because we haven't seen each other for a week? - Wanted to know the Sky awkwardly. - I almost feel nostalgic, it seems like we haven't seen each other for years! - Then his smile widened. - It's always good to see you, Enma.

The eldest didn't respond, though he blushed at such a heartfelt confession, almost making him gasp. The girls present just smiled softly at the lovely interaction.

-...I-It's always good to see you too, Tsuna.

- Maybe I've grown a little. - He put it with hope. - No one noticed, but I know I'm growing up!*

-...It's possible. - He agreed, unable to stop thinking that it wasn't it.

- But leaving that aside, how is Ryohei? - He hurried to question, making Kyoko smile even more. - I was told he went to your island alone!

- Don't worry, he's fine! - He assured and was his turn to wave his hands in exasperation. - We brought him with us when Reborn appeared by helicopter on the island when he was after Skull, but he stayed at his house. He probably thought his sister was there.

- Hiiiie, he went by helicopter?! - He wanted to know, shocked, turning to his tutor who only limited himself to smile, already free of his own fantasy, seeing with satisfaction the battered figure of the Cloud, being helped by the four Calcassa always. - If we are going to participate in this every day, we decided that it would be better to go back to Namimori, so Reborn doesn't hurt Skull too much and I could answer his call. - Enma found shyly.

- Aah Enma, I didn't imagine that you would come in person!

- I just wanted to make sure everything was ok, it's not every day you call me like that...

- You worry too much, but thank you. - He thanked smiling, leaving the oldest even more awkward, to turn to Sasagawa. - Hum… Kyoko, later I need to do something…

- One thing? - She asked curiously.

- Yes, it involves flame training, could you come w-with me? - He finished shyly.

Her smile was simply radiant.

- Of course, I'll meet you at your work at the end of the day, all right?

He just confirmed, blushing, in turn Enma felt very happy that Tsuna finally seemed to start moving forward in his relationship with the girl he liked.

-...Could you come too, Chrome? Your flames will help a lot.

- Sure, Boss.

-...Wait! What do you mean about flame training? - Said Shimon looking surprised at the trio, because he thought this was a Mafia secret that only part of Tsuna's group knew.

-...That's exactly what I need your help about, Enma. - Guaranteed awkwardly. - Can you come up with me? I'll explain to you while I get ready, if not I'm going to be late… Again.

- Oh, sure...

- See you later, Tsuna. - Assured the redhead, making him blush.

- B-Bye Kyoko.

- Have a good job, Boss.

- Thank you, Chrome!

-...So. - Julie wanted to know, ignoring Haru's annoyances, looking around while both Bosses went up. - Where's the food they promised us?

- This outfit is a little tight… - Ooyama grumbled, letting himself be hugged by the dove. - Lambo.

- Don't be so indiscreet, Julie! - Scolded Adel. - We accepted this to strengthen the bonds of our families, not for food!

- That's what you say. - He shrugged. - I came for the food.

- Can I keep the costume? - Wanted to know Shitt-P smoothing his feathers. - I really needed new pajamas.

- Hahiii, did you like it that much? - Haru put in wonder.

- Yes, you have a lot of talent.

-...

- Later, Kaoru! Do you only think about your friend?

- Hmm… Hmmm, hmmm… - Tried to say Aoba due to the new bandages covering his entire face, being guided by Nana to the kitchen table.

- Well, it looks like we need to buy a bigger table! - She commented excitedly.

However, all side conversations ended when a scream filled the house.

- WHAT?!

Since it was Enma, Adel, Julie and Kaoru were the first to go up the stairs, soon followed by Ooyama and Shittopi, Aoba being the only one unable to do so, only to find the shocked Earth standing outside the bathroom in second floor, with Tsuna coming out of it while adjusting his reindeer clothes.

-...Don't you think that's getting too heavy?! - Wanted to know the redhead, ignorant of the fact that he had alerted his entire family.

- Honestly, at this point, if I took it easy it would be much worse, they deserve to be taken seriously and that's what I'm going to do. - He put it with a very peculiar decision in itself.

- I understand, but... - He didn't look the least bit sure, as he nervously rubbed his ring.

- Is everything ok, Enma? - Wanted to know Adel worried, approaching.

- Well, I'll be going. - Tsuna announced. - Sorry for running like this, but I have to work.

And without waiting for an answer, he ran downstairs, only to let out a Hiiie when he was reminded by his tutor that he was late again.

- Enma? - On the other hand, Adel insisted on calling the attention of Earth, who was still distressed seeing the direction his friend had left.

- I just hope he doesn't regret it later. - Was the answer she got from the redhead who let out a long-pained sigh. -...I have a bad feeling. - Then, also adopting a serious posture that was so uncharacteristic, he turned to Glacier Guardian. - Adel, I want to continue the conversation we were having with Sasagawa before Reborn's arrival. There is something that has been worrying me a lot.

The older one blinked in surprise for a moment, then added with a proud smile.

- But of course, Boss.

-.-.-.-

He was honestly starting to think that he would miss working on deliveries when Christmas came around.

The possibility of flying free through the sky for an entire day, even in a ridiculous costume, was truly liberating.

On that particular day, he let his good mood help him to be even more friendly with the customers and thus managed to finish off the entire TakeSushi food stock, much to Tsuyoshi's happiness, who was already starting to talk to his other employees about the possibility to renovate the place, as they had already covered the losses from the closed days.

He even managed to help Mr. Tadanourite, and two other restaurant owners who, according to themselves, had heard of little Reindeer's fame and also wanted to hire his services.

One of them had even offered double what Mr. Yamamoto was paying him, and as much as he really needed the money, he really couldn't destroy his friend's father's trust like that.

- You're really doing great, my boy. - Said Tsuyoshi after he told him about the offer, after the last delivery he made to the proponent. - I still can't match my competitor's value, but you definitely deserve a raise.

- Wouldn't that be a problem? - He wanted to know while he took off his costume.

- Don't worry about it, besides, I know you need more money, I'll talk to these gentlemen. Who knows, maybe we'll reach an agreement that benefits everyone. Of course, if you don't mind a few more deliveries. Do you think you can?

- Yes sir. - Guaranteed with optimism, so rare in itself, which made the older one laugh and ruffle his hair, making the brunette blush, after all, no one had done that to him since he was six years old.

- You are really amazing, Tsuna. - He commented in a tone very similar to his son. - Come here, I made a reinforced bento for you to take home, I'm sure everyone there will love it.

- Thank you, but today I'm going to meet the guys instead of going home. - He said looking around -...I was supposed to meet two friends at the end of the day and go together, but they must be late.

- Hey! More reason for you to take this then, my son has been trying hard for the winter Koushou, I'm sure he's not even eating right. - He muttered, shaking his head as he offered the package to the smaller one. - Today was supposed to be his day off and even then, he left early because he had to train Kendo. I'm glad he takes the family style seriously, but I'm afraid he'll overwork himself again.

- Don't worry Mr. Tsuyoshi. - Tsuna guaranteed taking the order. - That's exactly what I'm going to talk to him about today. - He ended in a serious tone.

At first this made the older man raise his eyebrows in surprise, then smile and agree.

- You can pull his ear, Tsuna, you have my permission!

-.-.-.-

In turn, while Tsuna was making his deliveries, Hayato and Takeshi were following Haru's training at the Yamamoto family's dojo.

Or at least Yamamoto was sitting in a lotus pose in front of the dark-haired girl, who had her eyes closed and a frowning expression, her right hand suspended, trying to summon something and clearly failing terribly. Gokudera, meanwhile, was standing against a wall, fiddling with his cell phone, completely uninterested, wearing a surgical mask and looking like he was about to sleep.

- Remember what I said, Haru, do Hmmm, Hmmm and then concentrate all your determination in your hands! - Animated the swordsman, only making the young girl's expression frown more. - So Tadaaam! The flame comes!

-...I can't believe I didn't double my shift for this. - The Storm muttered in a muffled voice.

-...You're almost there! I can feel it.

-...This is a waste of time...

And the young girl's hand seemed to tremble slightly.

- Let's gooo… Cooonceeentraaatiiiooon.

-…Five more minutes and I'll go home, we've already lost hours on this.

- Focus on-

- HAHI! - Exclaimed the dark-haired girl, losing her patience and uncrossing her legs. - Can you be quiet for a second?! I can't concentrate like this! - She burst out, casting an exasperated look at the pair.

- THAT'S IT, HARU! You got it! - Yamamoto exclaimed happily.

And only then did the young girl notice that the ring on her middle finger seemed to burn slightly, it was a tiny spark, but it was definitely a flame.

-...Looks like it appeared when you got mad at us! - Rain exclaimed happily despite the comment, crawling until he was closer to the young one, analyzing her flame with admiration. -...That color… Is it Mist?

- Of course not, you idiot! - The Storm refuted, already knowing what flame it was, having seen a spark firsthand in his apartment almost a week ago. - And even if you say a tutor, the least you should know is to differentiate colors!

- Haha! Sorry! It's just that they are so similar! And as the sensation is still weak, it is difficult to know.

- It's not, you're an idiot! Also, I don't even have a ring of the Mist for this to work.

- Aaah, it's true!

- Moron!

In turn, Haru went on to completely ignore the one-sided argument, bringing the flame closer to her face and watching in fascination.

-...My own flame... - She said with emotion, seeing the purple flicker that flickered as if it was about to go out.

- It's clearly a Cloud Flame*. - Explained Gokudera finally approaching. - It's the same flame as that delinquent Hibari.

- Hahi! - Haru exclaimed, and her flame was immediately extinguished. - Do I have the same kind of flame as that dangerous man?! - And then she was startled to see that her spark had gone out. - Oh no! Was it the wind? - She questioned seeing that the dojo door was open.

- Of course not, you stupid! - Followed Gokudera ignoring her complaints for being offended. - The flames aren't real fire, a wind wouldn't put them out, it was you who lost your concentration!

- And how will Haru keep his concentration if you don't stop yelling at me?! - She insisted and again the small flame reappeared in her hand.

- It saw? I said it had to do with her losing her temper. - Commented Yamamoto. - In fact, I think I've heard Hibari say that his motivation to light his flame was anger!*

- Hahii, but Haru didn't want to have such a dangerous flame… - He commented with a hint of disappointment. - Haru wanted to have a more joyful flame like the Sun or amazing like the Sky! How do I exchange?

- Die and be born again. - Decreed the Storm, sitting down next to the pair and crossing his arms, ignoring the dark-haired girl angry look at his answer.

- But what about Lal Mirch? - Questioned Yamamoto turning to his friend. - She changed her flame, didn't she? And Vindice too.

- Then get cursed by a crazy ancient being or die. - Completed with impatience the Japanese-Italian. - Flames are something you are born with, which usually only manifest in near-death cases, changing them would then involve an experience as or worse than death itself, at best.

That made Haru gulp, staring at her manifestation. Not at all willing to go through something like that just because purple wasn't her favorite color.

With that in mind, she tried to focus on the positives.

-...Cloud is… - She stopped as if she was searching for something in her memory. - The Flame of Expansion!

- Exactly! - Confirmed Yamamoto.

-...It can... Expand the size of things, harden surfaces, not like Lightning does, but by expanding its resistance, and it can also multiply!

- That's right, Haru! - He continued encouraging his tutor. - I didn't even know all that!

- Then how could you agree?! - His companion became impatient, just making the swordsman laugh.

- Sorry! It's just that Cloud and Sky are the only flames I didn't fight, I even learned something from watching Tsuna's fights, but Hibari is a little more complicated. - He explained himself scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.

- Tsk, anyway, this silly girl at least remembered something of what I taught last time, unlike you. - He pinned.

- Oh no, Haru didn't understand practically anything you said that day. - She put it making the Storm almost topple over in disbelief, in turn the young girl got up to take a huge bag similar to a camping one with her left hand, for fear of setting something on fire, standing in the corner of the mat against the wall, only to return with a large book in hand. - Bye! I read it here, Bianchi who lent it to me.

- A book about flames? - Put Yamamoto standing up impressed. In turn, Gokudera looked in shock seeing the crest on the cape, consisting of a bullet and a lion. - I didn't know there were books about it! Not that it helped me at all, it would probably put me to sleep, but it's still pretty cool to know!

- You fool! - Gokudera exclaimed for the umpteenth time, snatching the book from the girl's hands, whose flame burned more intensely as she looked outraged at her companion's lack of education. - This is not an ordinary book, it's a Mafia Scuela book!*

- Mafia… Secuela? - Wanted to know Rain in doubt.

- It means school, you freak! - He grumbled, leafing through the book as if it were some gem. - It's the best, biggest and most prestigious school in the whole Mafia!

-...How is it possible that the Mafia has a school? - Commented the Japanese, but was ignored.

- You, woman, was it my sister who gave you this?

- Hahi! My name is not woman! And yes, Bianchi who lent me…

-...It makes sense, my sister graduated with honors from the Mafia Scuela, I heard that her old poison teacher even lost her taste buds after the final exam!

- Hahiii! That is very dangerous!

- Your sister is really scary, Gokudera…

-...I didn't know that she still had contact with anyone from there... Before coming to Japan, I knew that the institution wanted to hire her to teach their... "Art" to the new generation, but how she also came to here must have refused the offer… - The Storm ended lost in his own thoughts, for once not putting his hand to his stomach, despite the mentions of Bianchi's food. - Just stepping into that school is one of the greatest honors a mafioso can have, let alone teaching there!

-...Did the Little Guy study there then? - Considered Yamamoto crossing his arms too, referring to Reborn.

-...I don't know how long ago the Arcobalenos were cursed, but probably the organization didn't exist yet… - Pointed the Storm. - At least, not as we know it today.

- Ah, so you don't have to attend to be among the best. - The swordsman concluded with a simple shrug. - I prefer to learn in practice than in theory, thank goodness!

- That's because you're an idiot! - He said, closing the book and hugging her as if the baseball player's words could hurt her.

Who is this "Little Guy" and what do you two mean by curse? - Asked Miura innocently, making them both freeze for a moment, almost as if they had forgotten she was there, which made her cheeks puff childishly. - What are you hiding?

-...That... - Started Yamamoto uncertainly.

- That's none of your business - Completed Gokudera still hugging the book. - It's a personal matter!

- Hahi! Just because I was going to say that I liked the book so much, Haru would lend it to you, after all, Haru has read everything. - He teased, making the tallest hesitate in his resolve.

- E-everything?! - Rain was impressed in turn, looking again at the book that seemed to have at least a hundred pages. - And you didn't sleep at all?

- You really are a complete idiot! - He exclaimed impatiently, then turned to Haru, with an angry expression. -...I didn't lie when I said it was personal, I won't disrespect Mr. Reborn's wishes, even for a book from the great Mafia school! Ask him directly if you want to know!

-...Little Reborn? - Repeated the name confused. - Alright, if it's personal I'll ask him… - And seeing how the other still hugged his book, she added. - All right, Haru lets you keep the book.

- Hunf. - He put it on proudly, though there was a glint of anticipation in his eyes. - I only need it for two hours and I'll give it back to you.

- A hundred pages in two hours?! What's wrong with you two?! - Yamamoto was impressed, looking from one to the other.

And as Gokudera started cursing again, Haru laughed, just making his flame go out again.

-...The mood affects the flames. - The Rain considered seeing the expression of regret of the young girl. - As you are a very expressive person, it can be a little difficult to control at first. - Then something occurred to him. - I already know! Gokudera, why don't you show your Cloud Flame? Play some trick on her, I'm sure it will help.

- I don't do tricks! I am not a Mist! - Still, possibly on loan from the dark-haired girl, he took the book with great care to his left arm, while raising his right hand. - Pay attention, because I'll only show you once!

And having said that in front of his small audience, the gray haired one made the skull ring on his pinky, belonging to the Sistema C.A.I., burn with purple flames.

-...Your flame is very small too. - Put Haru clearly disappointed.

- You fool! It's because I have four others! - He grumbled, although embarrassed by the comment. - So I have to divide my life energy into five, most of which is with my Storm Flame.

- So only single flame users can have large flames? - Haru wanted to know while facing the opposite energy.

- Yes, after all, all their energy is concentrated in a single point, and that's why they are the only ones to be able to manifest pure flames.

- Oh, I didn't know that!

- Why are you teaching her things then, if you don't know anything? - And in the face of that the eldest just laughed.

- I already told you, didn't I? With me it's just in practice! So come on, show the Cloud Flame in action, I want to see it too!

The youngest huffed impatiently, still erased his ring, then took one of his dynamites from his pocket and lit it again to envelop it, making gasps of surprise come out of both their mouths as it grew a few inches in size.

- Hahi! This is amazing!

- With this you can create a super bomb and BOOOM?

- Yes, if I could keep the flame on the dynamite long enough for me to get away from the blast area, if not it would be a suicide attack. - He confessed in an angry tone and to prove his point, tossed it away, with the fuse off, only for the duo to see how it diminished now that it was no longer energized. - I'm still studying to see how I'll do it. Keeping your flame burning on something you don't have direct contact with is difficult. It requires a lot of energy, constant concentration and special material. - And with the last part his expression became truly spiteful, as if he had remembered something unpleasant.

- Got it, Haru?

- Yes! - She put it determined while Gokudera rolled his eyes, put out his flame and went back to the wall willing to start his reading. - Haru can expand things!

- I had an idea, why don't we simulate a battle? You can wear one of the Kendo armors we have, so I'll pretend to attack you and you try to expand your armor to protect yourself. - Completed the Swordsman with simplicity. - Using the flame is the best way to keep it steady.

- Haru doesn't need the Kendo armor, Haru came equipped! - He said with determination, and then ran back to his bag, facing the curious sight of Yamamoto, only to equip himself with a confusing mix of Kabuki armor, hockey stick, and motorcycle helmet. The same "armor" he had used to challenge Tsuna to a fight in the past. - Wow?!

-...Are you sure? You know, we can really borrow ours… - He considered Rain awkwardly.

- Don't worry, come with everything! Yoooooi! - She exclaimed, extending her hands open while turning her neck in kabuki position. - Haru can handle it!

Shrugging, but with a smile on his face, Yamamoto accepted, taking a wooden sword attached to the wall and also positioning himself with a serious expression.

-.-.-.-

Tsuna was sitting at one of the TakeSushi tables, sipping juice while he waited for the girls to arrive, his thoughts one or the other once again straying into what he would do when he met up with his friends at their secret training.

Even his good mood, which had permeated his day, seemed to be waning in the face of the sense of deception. Ironically, in an attempt by Haru not to feel left behind, he ended up taking her place.

"Because I'm their boss, but that's not your case… Or is it?" Again Hibari's words swirled around his mind, making his expression frown.

His mind only gave him a break when Tsuyoshi approached with a hot cup in hand.

- Here, TakeSushi's special herbal tea. - He promoted leaving the steaming drink in front of the youngest. - Helps to calm the nervous and concentrate.

- Thank you Mr. Tsuyoshi. - He thanked him with a sheepish smile finishing off his juice, then accepted the china, blowing it lightly to cool it.

- Do you want to talk about what happened? - Wanted to know the owner of the restaurant still standing, and in front of the confused look he received he added. - You were in a very good mood, but now that you are waiting for the girls to meet your friends, the good mood seems to have gone, when it should be just the opposite.

Again he shivered slightly as he realized that someone else was able to read it without any problems, Reborn would definitely kill him.

-...Let me guess, did Takeshi do something? - Considered the eldest again and when he did not receive any refusals from the youngest, he pulled out a chair and sat with him at the table.

Definitely very easy to read.

He considered for a moment before answering, after all, if there was anyone who should know Yamamoto, it would be the father who lived with him all his life. But it was strange to talk about his friend to his father, still, he decided to expose a short version of things.

- Yamamoto, Haru and I think Gokudera too. - If his intuition was right, and unfortunately he didn't have much reason to believe it wasn't. - They hid something very important from me, and I'm still not sure how to talk to them about it.

- Hmmmm, got it. - Confirmed Tsuyoshi supporting his weight on the back of the chair. Tsuna couldn't help but thank internally that the older one didn't seem to want more information than what was offered. - Takeshi tends to do this, especially when he believes he will hurt or let others down, he puts a lot of pressure on himself.

-...I don't think Gokudera is very different. - He offered simply tasting his tea, and finding it really very good. - As for Haru, maybe it's revenge because I've hidden things from her in the past, yet I can't help but be upset that they don't seem to trust me.

- I don't think it's because they don't trust, but all people have secrets. - The eldest confessed, his gaze seeming distant for a moment. - Our reasons for not telling them can be several: Fear, not wanting to worry someone, not pushing others away, avoiding problems, as they say, ignorance can be bliss.

- Not in that case. - He said firmly, staring at his drink. - If something bad had happened, I just couldn't forgive myself for not knowing sooner. In that case, their hiding me only made me worry more when I found out.

- It always helps you to try to put yourself in your friends' shoes.

- I don't know how that could work, since it's something they accepted much easier than I did. - He sighed, taking a few more sips of his tea. - I know that's why they hid it, thinking I would freak out, and that I can forgive, because I really freaked out when I found out. - Only now did he consider that Yamamoto was present in his discussion with Reborn about the girls and seemed quite apprehensive. - What really bothers me is that because I don't know how to deal with this situation, they got into this hole to spare me.

- So you think it's all your fault?

- Yes. - He confessed regretfully, squeezing his cup tightly. - I should have seen this coming, that the girls were feeling...

- You know you're just a fourteen-year-old boy who's still going through puberty, don't you? - Offered Tsuyoshi supporting his face in his hand and his elbow on the table, smiling when the youngest blushed. - You shouldn't charge yourself so much for not understanding your friends' feelings, even we adults don't understand sometimes, you're being too strict with yourself.

"He talks like Fon." - Thought Tsuna, hiding his shyness with his cup.

- It's like I said, Tsuna, you're friends, it's normal for friends to have secrets from each other, now, if it's something that would get them in trouble, sit down with them and be honest about how you feel, and if not work, threaten them a little.

- Eeeh?! - He exclaimed surprised, almost choking on the rest of his drink, staring at the older man with disbelief, who just laughed.

- My son can be a hardhead, the same for that Gokudera. So if sincerity doesn't work, and they keep hiding important things from you like that, they're giving you the freedom to do the same with them. So make them try to put themselves in your shoes. I believe that this is the best way for the problem not to recur.

- I think so… - He finally considered, while the older got up and got ready to take the now empty cup of the younger one. - A-ah, can I help you to wash? - He said seeing how the other employees had left and the fact that he was waiting for his friends was the only reason the place hadn't closed yet. - I'll try not to break anything!

Tsuyoshi smiled, again ruffling his hair and letting him join him behind the counter for the first time since the Bianchi-Incident.

Both washed the dishes in a very comfortable silence, in which Tsuna did his best not to break anything, although all the owner had let him do was rinse the soap off while Tsuyoshi scrubbed.

So it didn't take long for Sushiman to turn on a radio so they could have some company sound.

-...The bankruptcy process of the company Heisei Denden* is still in court. - Said the serious voice of a reporter. - Despite having been one of the biggest Japanese companies for decades, alleged irregular actions have tarnished the telecom company's image and since October it has quickly led it down a path of no return, while investigations are still ongoing...

-...Eh? - Put surprised Tsuna turning to the radio. - Has Heisei Denden gone bankrupt? I thought it was a huge company!

- It's true, if I'm not mistaken your mother worked there before she got married, right? - Considered the eldest without stopping washing, and feeling the opposite surprise added. - Small town, boy, I'm tired of seeing you here in uniform, that a countryman works in a big company is not something that goes unnoticed.

-...I imagine... - That's all he put on. - From what she told me it was there where she met my father, in fact, that's her favorite story. - He commented with a hint of disgust, he'd heard that story almost as many times as his wedding.

And that the company was now closing for "irregular actions" was at least suspicious.

-...No matter how big or powerful a company may be, if its name or reputation is tarnished, it is very difficult to recover. - He continued commenting on the Tsuyoshi news, ignorant of the contrary thoughts. - Keep that in mind when you have your own business, Tsuna.

- What?! I'm a disaster, I could never have my own business! - He argued, almost dropping a plate, but picking it up at the last moment, while making a great effort not to think about Vongola.

- I would not be so sure, you are a smart boy, charismatic and full of friends, you will still have a lot of success in life. - He commented as if it was nothing, just making Tsuna blush more. - So from a businessman to the future, always keep one thing in mind: - And he held up his soapy finger as if teaching a lesson. - Any company can go bankrupt if it is not well managed, or worse, if there are those who want to take it down, competition can be really terrible and capable of all kinds of sabotage. And if poorly managed, or in times of crisis, it is very difficult for a venture to have enough capital to resist.

-...Could this even happen to one of the biggest and most powerful companies in the world...? - He considered seriously.

- Well, it happened with Heisei Denden Didn't it? And they were very powerful. Believe me boy, in this life of mine I saw many powerful people being overthrown for the simplest of reasons. The business world can be cruel.

Tsuna didn't offer an answer in this regard, even though his expression looked deeply thoughtful, as his eyes softly glowed orange.

And as if they had agreed, as soon as he had washed the last dish, he watched as a certain trio entered the front door, one of them making the adult next to him shiver.

- Sorry for the delay, Tsuna. - Kyoko explained, approaching suddenly, with a blushing and regretful Chrome beside her, soon followed by a calm Bianchi.

- It was my fault, Boss. - The Mist confessed, bowing as soon as she saw him. - I needed to find a place to leave Mr. Verde, and he wasn't cooperating...

- That's why we called Bianchi and she convinced him quickly. - Finished the redhead and Tsuna could not help but feel sorry for the scientist as he saw the dark smile of the assassin.

- I hope you don't mind if I come along. - She followed, putting a hand on her waist. - After all, Haru is also like my little apprentice, so I want to see how this story will end.

And in that instant Tsuna felt a shiver almost as big as what Tsuyoshi was feeling at that moment.

- N-no problem, just let me get my things and let's go.

Kyoko nodded and after greeting the owner of the restaurant with a gesture, he got ready to talk to the other two at the restaurant's door.

Tsuna, in turn, dried his hands and then took his bag and threw it on his back telling the girls that he needed to go somewhere before they went, but before leaving she turned to the Japanese with a shy and grateful smile.

- Thank you for the advice Mr. Tsuyoshi, you know… I never had my father around to ask for advice. - He confessed scratching the back of his neck awkwardly, not noticing how the older one frowned at the comment. -...The closest I've ever had was Reborn, who is a baby, which makes everything kind of weird, anyway, thank you very much for that. - He said finally, bowing.

The Sushiman just smiled.

- Have fun boy, don't worry about it.

While hanging out with the girls, Tsuna couldn't help but feel bad for also lying to Yamamoto's father, however, how would he tell a Japanese civilian that his son was listed for the Italian Mafia?

In turn, when the group was already lost in the horizon and the swordsman closed his restaurant while facing the group's back, he couldn't help but confess in a whisper.

- Iemitsu idiot, you and all who are part of this will undoubtedly go straight to the worst hell for putting my son and such a sweet boy in the underworld as you are doing. - And with a weary shake of the head, he closed the doors.

-.-.-.-.-

- Let me get this straight. - Started Lal Mirch who had gone to the Sawada Residence early that day to bring Colonnello back,

That of course, after leaving him unconscious and bruised in a corner of the kitchen, as he sat down to Nana's unparalleled breakfast.

-...Bianchi taught one of the civilian girls to blackmail, and she did it with Yamamoto. - She started to enumerate using her fingers, casting a side glance at Nana who was laying out the clothes with the help of Fon and I-Pin, due to the large amount of washing by the constant guests.

You could even see Lambo helping too, even though his actions clearly seemed to only get in the way. On the other hand, Verde was lying unconscious, strapped against the banister of the stairs, while Skull poked him with his fingers to see if he was still alive.

-...And Gokudera ended up getting involved too, and they did all this hidden from Sawada. - Finished the bi-flame.

- Yes. - Reborn replied simply enjoying his coffee in a rare moment of calm in this kitchen. - Exactly.

- On the other hand, the Sasagawa girl, pretended that she was crying to convince her idiot brother?

- That's what Tsuna told me when we came back here on Saturday.

-...At the same time, Sawada himself convinced the girl Sasagawa, who is almost as stupidly in love as Iemitsu is with his wife, to accept his test, not knowing who the challenger was?

Reborn smiled.

- Yes, Bianchi gave you some tips before we had a video game night where I humiliated Fon by the way.

-...And was she also the one who taught Sasagawa to act? - Wanted to know the Naval with suspicion.

- There is a good possibility, they also spent some time together, although it could have been Haru herself. However, Bianchi has been giving Haru some disguise tips, so it could be somewhat cyclical. You can ask any of them if you want.

-...This woman is more chaotic than I thought she was. - Added the ancient Rain. - She practically created a spider's web of chaos as she tried to help the girls.

- No doubt. - Confirmed Reborn, letting the air out of his lungs slightly before taking another sip of his drink.

Such an act, however, immediately caught the attention of Lal, who smiled teasingly, resting his chin in one hand.

- What is it? Was it a sigh I heard from the World's Strongest Hitman? - She provoked.

- Who knows. - That was all he just said without giving real importance.

This caused the taller's smile to be replaced by a thoughtful expression.

- I remember when you announced her as your third lover.* - She put in while snapping the fingers of the hand that didn't support her face. - I was horrified. Just imagine, a baby lover of an adult. - As expected, he didn't offer an answer to that, just continuing to drink his coffee quietly. - That's why I used the CEDEF structure to investigate the Gokudera family, to clear up some doubts. After all, your idiotic attitudes can end up harming Vongola, even if you claim to be a freelancer.

- And where is the privacy? - The minor feigned offense. - You know I wouldn't do anything to harm Vongola, after all, Nono is a dear friend of mine, however, unlike some people I don't like being under a leash.

- Is that how you refer to "loyalty"? - She mocked, rolling her eyes. - Well, I call it fear. After all, being affiliated with a family, really affiliated, involves certain responsibilities.

- Call it what you want. - He put it down without giving a damn. - I value my freedom, in other words, I'm faithful to my contracts, but in the end I'm always free to do what I want. - He finished with his characteristic arrogance.

- Just desperate to hire someone like you. - Lal huffed.

- It's the price for wanting to hire the best. - He said, closing that point. - Even though I believe that, more than Vongola, you only suspected that I had discovered a method to return to my original body hidden from all of you, and you wanted it for you and Colonnello. - It was his turn to provoke.

- You are free to think what you want. - She replied impatiently. - I just wanted answers. That's how I found out how you guys started working together. But more importantly, I read about the very suspicious death by poison of a certain head of an important family, who happened to be her ex-boyfriend, Otelo*, or something Shakespearean like that. - She withheld importance. - Being a woman from an average family, she would be hunted to hell for that, which didn't happen because the next day the Mafia learned with strangely surprising speed that she was with you.

Again there were no answers, affirmative or negative, Reborn just calmly continued tasting his drink, as if the subject didn't bother him or concern him.

- It doesn't take a genius to know that you did it to protect her, Reborn. - Lal concluded, also deciding to get some coffee. -...And she clearly didn't learn the mission, because she made a point of traveling to Japan to try to kill Sawada at the first opportunity.

- Everyone has tried to kill Tsuna. - Commented Reborn. - Currently I do this every Tuesday, or whenever he's an idiot.

- I don't blame you for that, I do the same with Iemitsu, his silly face irritates me. - She followed, and perhaps somewhere in Italy your Boss may have felt the offense. - As for Bianchi, I can't say if she knows the real reason for your relationship, because she clearly loves you and somehow believes in this facade. I shouldn't get involved, but let's face it, I've seen you in love before, I can say without fear of mistake that you don't reciprocate her feelings.

- No. - Finally concluded the Hitman, lowering his cup to face the tallest one. - And I doubt she doesn't know that, she's an intelligent woman.

- Then why go through with it? - Inquired. - By this time, as her ex, she would be feared enough for Otelo's family to seek revenge.

- Even though it's a lie, it makes you happy, and I frankly don't care. - She just answered. - I like the chaos she represents, and I appreciate her a lot as a partner.*

- And a partner in the Mafia is far more valuable than any lover. I understand. - She nodded, bringing the drink to her lips for the first time, only to stop and frown her disgusted expression. - Who made this coffee? It's watery! And he was clearly boiled.

- Tsuna. - That made the soldier blink in surprise. - Using his flames, since he didn't want to go near the stove for a babbling reason I didn't bother to understand.¹ He still hasn't learned how to dose the amount of heat.

- Is he using the Shinu Ki no Honoo to cook?! - Lal was exalted. - Is that even possible?!

- Apparently. Yesterday morning he asked me to teach him how to make Italian coffee, even if he doesn't drink it.

- Sawada has strange attitudes. - She considered taking another sip. - It definitely looks more like American coffee, a crappy one, which is very much coming from a useless boy like him. - And she took another sip to finish it. - Wait, if it was Sawada, was this done early in the morning?

- All four, to be specific.

The young woman stopped, frowning at the steaming cup that Reborn was still drinking.

- Either this bottle is really good, or the flames have something to do with it still being so hot.

- Yes, and that almost makes up for the awful taste.

They both remained silent for a while longer, while Lal watched the interaction of everyone in the garden through the kitchen window, as well as how every now and then Bianchi cast loving glances at the Hitman, which started to really annoy her.

Not for the romantic act itself, she was already used to those from when Iemitsu started talking about Nana, but rather the tutor's complete apathy to respond to any of them.

- Reborn, for the years we unfortunately know each other and for the slightest consideration I have for you, I'm going to give you some advice, you can ignore it if you want.

- I'm all ears, although I can already imagine what it is. - It was his turn to look back at the garden, watching as I-Pin and Fon tried to revive Lambo, while Skull finally seemed to have managed to wake up Verde. - Shamal shares the same opinion.

- He's a pervert, but he's not blind. - She pointed following with her drink. - You're being an idiot. It's clear that you have a huge affection for her, and I'm sure she's willing to wait for you to regain your adult body.

- This will take years.

- Love can wait, when it is properly reciprocated. - She put it sternly, despite her words. - I wouldn't be with that asshole Colonnello after all these damn years if it weren't for that.

- I always thought you were just a masochist, or had terrible taste in men.

The Naval frowned but didn't respond to the provocation.

- Just think a little about your own life and less about your work with Sawada, because even he is leaving you behind in this. You don't love her today, it's just coexistence that love is really born, I keep saying that to that idiot Iemitsu, who keeps boasting about his wife and son, but never comes to see them. - She ended with a sour expression. - Before coming here I even warned him that if he continued like this, you would take his place in Sawada Tsunayoshi's heart.

- And what did he say?

- I don't know. - She smiled with wicked satisfaction. - I just ignored him and left, leaving him wailing dramatically alone, like we did after the Battle of the Rings. He being sad is more unbearable than he being happy.

Reborn could clearly picture the scene.

- Thanks for the advice Lal, but an assassin like me isn't exactly made for serious relationships. - Finally Reborn pondered, with his usual neutral tone. - It just gets in the way of business, I'd rather just have her as my partner and keep things as they are, at least for as long as she wants.

- You know, life is yours. - She shrugged. - But now you don't have the excuse that you will be forever a baby or that your cursed life will be short. Now as for how long it will take you to grow up… I really hope it doesn't take too long, otherwise I'll find a lover until the idiot is at least a teenager. - She put her decidedly knocking her cup on the table and even passed out that information brought chills down Colonnello's spine.

- Decades of libido to spend? - Provoked the assassin.

Lal just huffed in irritation.

- Ha, you have no idea. At this point I imagined that the useless Verde had already made a machine for everyone to grow faster.

- You are not the only one. - Reborn confirmed with his smile that promised chaos. - We're humiliating Verde every day to see if it encourages him to create something soon, if we make progress, I'll let you know.

- Perfect. - She said smiling too. - Now, why did you tell all of us to gather here? You said you wanted to show us something.

The Hitman's smile didn't diminish an inch.

- Don't worry, it will start soon.

-.-.-.-.-

- Are you ready Haru? Because I will attack! - Yamamoto warned with a serious expression, his sword in hand.

The aforementioned gulped, didn't need real training to know that the air had become more tense, she'd already seen how serious the older one got when trying to play baseball with the kids, and he had no reason to believe it wouldn't be the same with the blade in hand.

Still, she filled with determination, thinking she needed to use her newfound flame to defend herself. With that in mind she placed her hand over her heart, mentalizing that her power enveloped her armor and expanded it, the book explained how to do it, just replicate it.

However, her flame didn't respond on par with her determination, not even creating a spark as Yamamoto quickly approached.

Letting her fear and sense of failure overwhelm her, she closed her eyes, expecting a blow.

That never arrived.

- WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! - In his place, an icy voice filled the room, making even the hairs on the back of the young girl's neck stand on end.

And maybe it was just her impression, but even the whole dojo seemed strangely to have gotten colder.

Anyway, she wasn't the only one who thought so, as her legs seemed to lose strength causing her to fall to the ground.

- T-tenth!

- T-tsuna, it's not what you're thinking! - Said Yamamoto, stepping back, immediately dropping his wooden sword and raising his hands in redemption.

It took a few seconds for Haru to process that that strong, demanding tone was coming from her lover, turning to see that the half-open door of the temple now loomed over four people.

Ahead was Tsuna, his gaze frowning and serious, like that time in the future* before the final battle against Byakuran, his eyes looked more orange than his usual caramel, however, what caught her attention the most was, even making her blink in confusion, an intense orange flame that glowed on his forehead that she had never seen before.

-...And what am I thinking? - Wanted to know the brunette, leaning his head, without losing that sharp look.

It was the two guardians' turn to gulp, casting glances at each other.

-...Actually... - Yamamoto started pondering if it was worth trying to lie or not, but before he could say something, he ended up sneezing, smoothing his arms straight away because of the sudden cold that seemed to get worse by the second.

Gokudera didn't look any better, although at least he was wearing a mask, which helped to hide some of his expression.

- Kyoko, Chrome. - Tsuna called in front of the silence of the duo, without looking away from his best friends. - Could you see if Haru is ok?

The aforementioned wanted to protest, or at least claim that she was fine, but realized that she didn't seem able to speak, like part of the people in that room, as if the air was slowly starting to get thin, and all the effort should be spent just breathing.

- Yes, Boss.

- Of course, Tsuna.

And the two girls came forward and then knelt beside the brunette, while Tsuna was still standing at the entrance of the dojo, still without looking away. Bianchi stayed by his side just enjoying the whole scene. He wore his famous goggles so as not to disturb his brother, not that it seemed to make much difference when he didn't even seem to notice she was there.

- You won't say anything? - The Sky followed in a tone that they had only seen him use with his enemies. - Yamamoto, Gokudera.

And as if a spell had broken in midair, they both started talking at the same time.

- It was my fault Tsuna!

- It was all my fault, Tenth! - And again they both looked surprised at each other.

- Gokudera was just watching, I was the one who accepted to train Haru.

- You fool! But I should have stopped you! At least warned the Tenth!

- Haru could have been hurt! - Tsuna imposed, interrupting the useless discussion, starting to approach with heavy steps.

- I-I'm fine, T-Tsuna! - She managed to say, trying to get up but being prevented by Chrome, who shook her head. - I insisted that they train me! If anyone is to blame, it's Haru!

- I don't give a damn who's to blame or at least there's a culprit! - He exclaimed, making her shiver slightly, remembering the time he had lost his temper and yelled at her and Lambo in the future.* - What I want to know is, what did you think you were doing?! If flame training wasn't dangerous enough, would you want an inexperienced person to already be able to defend themselves using them?! Have you gone crazy?!

- Tsuna. - The voice was Bianchi's, but it could very well have come from Reborn, maybe it was the conviviality, but the warning tone had sounded absurdly similar.

And it had the desired effect, the aforementioned closed his eyes and took a deep breath, clearly trying to calm down. Which seemed to work, because the flame from his forehead faded in almost slow motion, even though when he opened his eyes they were still a deep orange.

Taking this moment as a cue, Kyoko said:

- Haru is fine, Tsuna.

And the sigh of relief that the brunette let out was almost palpable.

-...That's good. - He said, his tone sounding really calmer. - It felt like my heart had stopped for a moment when I saw you standing there, shaking with your eyes closed.

Haru blinked between confusion and surprise.

Was she shaking? She hadn't even noticed, the brunette's concern for her filling his heart, overcoming the fear of seeing him so nervous.

No, not nervous, livid, much more than he had been that time in the future. For a second he actually thought Tsuna was going to attack his own friends, something she never dreamed he would be able to do.

And all because he was so worried about her.

- Besides… - Followed the Vongola in his normal tone, shifting his gaze to the ground. - If there's a culprit here, it's me. For that, I truly, truly apologize. - That said, to the complete shock of Yamamoto, Gokudera and Haru, and surprise of Kyoko and Chrome. he bowed his body ninety degrees in repentance.

- W-what?! - The swordsman began, confused by the direction of the conversation.

- Tenth is not guilty of anything! - Followed the Italian-Japanese.

- It was all Haru's wish! - Finished the distressed dark-haired girl.

-...You guys knew my position on protecting the girls, so when Haru insisted, you guys considered that I would never give in about putting them in danger and decided to support Haru's will without my knowing. - He said still with his body down facing the floor. - If I had been a little more open-minded, you wouldn't have had to resort to this, and none of this would have happened.

Then he stood up again, an expression of regret directed not only at Haru, but at Kyoko as well.

- I was an idiot to you girls when, in trying to protect you, I just kept you in the dark, which isn't much better than what my dad did to me my whole life. - He sighed, feeling a tightness in his chest with those words. - Reborn always told me that and he was right, you guys deserved to know. If you want to join us, you must also learn how this crazy world we have entered works. In the future I made the decision to tell the truth, and now I renew that vow. No more lies girls. From now on, you will be aware, as far as possible, of everything that happens.

Kyoko smiled, and Haru felt her heart leap with emotion at all that this meant.

- However… - And the tone of the brunette sounded heavy again, his eyes more than ever shining bright orange. -...Know in advance that I'm not going to take it easy from now on just because you're girls. If I did that, Bianchi and Lal Mirch would kill me.

- It is true. - Confirmed Bianchi crossing her arms.

- Hahi! That's how Haru wants it! - Put the young girl excitedly, her eyes shining with determination again.

-...That doesn't mean that we're going to go directly to fight training. - He continued casting a look at Yamamoto who just smiled in apology, an empty and heavy smile on his face. - You two will have to pass a test before we take this step. I want to make sure you know what you're getting yourself into and are ready to face what comes next.

- Of course Haru accepts! Haru will pass this test!

-...But I didn't even say what the test was. - He smiled sideways, in a way that made both Yamamoto and Gokudera feel a shiver down their spines.

- Ah… It's true. - He put Haru innocently awkward. - So what's the test?

- You will have to exhaust your examiner's flames, or immobilize him, and even if he doesn't attack you, he will use all means to avoid being defeated. If you go through this, knowing how to defend yourself and immobilize an enemy, then you would definitely be ready to fight by our side if you wanted to.

-...It seems fair to Haru, although he wanted to fight first. - The brunette couldn't help but smile slightly as he noticed that this had been almost the same response as Kyoko to his proposal.

- I accepted Tsuna's conditions on Friday. - Kyoko confessed, making her friend give her a look of surprise. - I'm sorry I didn't tell you, many things happened and Bianchi asked me to keep it a secret.

- Not that you can complain. - The assassin intervened with her characteristic tone. - Since you guys started with it in the first place.

- All right, Haru understands. - She said smiling to her friend, to then confirm firmly. - Haru accepts to do this test!

- Hmmm… Tsuna? - In turn, Yamamoto, who still felt a little insecure, and feeling relieved when the minor turned to him with a calm expression, asked: - Who will test them?

And the brunette smiled again, and the guardian duo was definitely not enjoying this "new*" type of smile from their boss.

- Boss. - Ready Chrome, invoking her trident, making both girls exclaim in surprise. - Let me do it.

- N-no, Tenth! - Gokudera came forward, who seemed to have finally recovered his ability to speak. - Please leave it to me! It's the least I can do to redeem myself for not stopping these idiots!

- Hahiii, Haru is not an idiot!

- Thanks, Chrome, Gokudera, but that won't be necessary. - He said, taking his hands into his sweatshirt pocket and taking off his gloves, putting them on calmly, and then reactivating the Hyper Mode, the action causing the room to heat up slightly. - I'll take it from here.

- That means… - Yamamoto started, opening his eyes with realization, just like his companion.

- Yes. - He decreed simply, facing both Haru and Kyoko, his eyes glittering against the light of the hall, his flames burning intensely in both hands thus transforming his gloves, a determined expression painting his face. - I will be the one who evaluates them in this test. I, after all, am the main obstacle that kept you from our world, so if you pass me, the way is clear.

- But Haru didn't know that Tsuna would prove us! - Exclaimed Haru who seemed as surprised as the others, a look at Kyoko showed her that even her friend didn't seem to know that. While the guardian duo had their mouths open in disbelief at their boss's words. - Haru could never attack Tsuna! Even being inexperienced.

-...Besides, you're very strong, aren't you… - Followed the uncertain redhead.

- The strongest of all of us. - Confirmed Chrome. - Same as Mr. Mukuro and Hibari.

-...So, how could we... - She continued in doubt.

Do you think you are not capable? - Again Bianchi joined, still not leaving his place near the door. - If you already start with that mentality, it is better not to try.

- It's just that… - Miura continued. - How are we going to face someone so strong if we're still so inexperienced.

-...I thought we would start at the basic level. - Kyoko followed, realizing that it seemed that Tsuna avoided looking at her, as if that would undermine her determination.

- When Tsuna didn't even know how to throw a punch, he had to face one of the Mafia's most wanted. - Continued Bianchi, and even Tsuna seemed impressed with her words, it was almost as if Reborn was speaking for her. - We don't have a basic level. Nor do we have the luxury of choosing the level of our opponents.

- Sorry Haru, Kyoko. - The brunette spoke again with his unyielding firmness of Hyper Mode, even though, without facing either of them again. - But you should have asked who you would face before accepting. As I said, I don't intend to go easy on you anymore. So if you give up this test is over. Even Ryohei agreed to these terms.

They both swallowed hard, feeling the force of the opposing words, their hands still burning without exhaustion.

-...It's all right. - Kyoko was the first to confirm, resolute like the Sasagawa she was. - I will give my better.

- Hahi! Haru is still surprised, but Haru won't give up! - She joined her friend with determination.

The guardians just kept silent, all the while looking in disbelief at their boss and his proposal.

In turn, Tsuna allowed himself to smile.

- Before we start, however, I brought some things that can help, because for this to work you need more stable flames first, but I ended up leaving everything on the way here…

- Tsuna suddenly stopped walking on his way here saying he had a bad feeling. - Commented Kyoko getting the attention of the others who didn't know about it. - He just dropped everything he was holding and ran over here!

- Could you take it, please? There's just one more thing I'd like to talk about with Yamamoto and Gokudera. - That made another shiver run down their spines. - It will be quick, and no, it's no secret, but it's a little personal.

The girls agreed, and although Haru didn't seem too sure about it, Chrome and Kyoko convinced her to go, leaving only the trio of guardians and Bianchi behind, who was fiddling with a green hair clip, looking amused.

- Tenth, despite your great words, I reiterate my apology for not having stopped all this from happening and forced you into this situation! - Storm stepped forward, placing the book he had barely begun to read carefully on the floor, then ran to his boss and kneeled in dogeza. - Please forgive me!

-...He's right, Tsuna. - Confirmed Yamamoto looking miserable, approaching while he scratched the back of his head awkwardly. - I should have been more firm with Haru, and asked your opinion as soon as I had the opportunity.

- I already told you, it wasn't your fault. - The Sky followed in a neutral tone due to his Hyper Mode. - I didn't give openings for that to happen.

- It still surprises me a lot that you convinced Ryohei! - The baseball player exclaimed, looking slightly more excited. - I remember how furious he was in the future when he heard that you told the truth to his sister, he even hit you!

- But of course the Tenth could convince that idiot, the Tenth is simply-

- It was Kyoko who convinced him. - He said cutting off the opposite speech. - I just supported her, and when I explained my plan Ryohei didn't deny it anymore, he even offered to train Kyoko if she passes.

- But also, if these girls don't make it through the Tenth, which is clearly what will happen, they will never learn to fight! It's a test that's simply impossible to pass that will get them off our backs on this matter, indeed it's a brilliant plan, Tenth!

However, the opposite reaction was different from what he imagined. The youngest frowned with clear displeasure, turning to the Storm with a truly icy tone.

- Is that what you think of me? - He put it coldly, making the hafu lose his speech.

- Despite what you said, you're still mad at us. - Yamamoto declared with a regretful smile. - So, what else did you want to say to us, Tsuna?

- Yes, I'm irritated, and honestly I'm going to need a little time to let it go. - He confessed turning to the Rain. - But above all, I'm sad, sad because I really wanted you to trust me more. - And before either of them could argue, shocked by the conclusion of the minor, he added. - Before coming here I spoke to two people who helped me with their advice on how to handle the situation. Then I realized that it's normal for friends to keep secrets from each other to some extent, so as angry as I am, I can't really make you guys promise you'll never hide things from me again, any more than I intend to. everything that happens to you. - He imposed it firmly. - Friendships don't work like that after all.

The pair didn't know what to say, not liking the prospect that their boss might keep things from them, as if they weren't worthy of knowing. However, given the current situation, they knew they couldn't demand anything.

- We're sorry Tsuna, we didn't want you to think like that…

- Tenth! You have every right to be angry!

-…Maybe, but as much as I feel that way now, I know this will pass, because we are friends and our friendship is more important than this whole story. - It was as if a huge weight had been lifted from the shoulder of the duo, who let out the air they didn't even notice they were holding with those words. - After all, you finally confirmed what I had always been saying.

-...And what would it be? - Questioned Yamamoto not sure if he really wanted to know, barely able to appreciate his relief.

- I'm not a boss. - He said, closing his eyes, his tone soft and calm, ignoring the choking of the Storm and the confusion of the Rain. - I'm not a Mafia expert, but… If we were in Italy right now, if I were the boss of Vongola, and two of my most important members were hiding something from me so I could put someone in our family at risk… If Haru had been exposed to this situation without my knowing it, practically putting a target on her head…

And then again, the room seemed to start to cool down at a steady rate, and before either of them could even realize what was happening, they both had the collar of their clothes taken by overly hot gloves, Gokudera was lifted off the floor with a violent tug, and Yamamoto brought forward with the same intensity, thus stopping centimeters from the face of the Sky whose eyes seemed to boil.

-...That would make me furious and I wouldn't be so nice. - He decreed making both of them freeze in their places, unable to look away.

And as quickly as he took them, Tsuna released them, both losing their balance but managing to stay on their feet, to continue facing his disbelieving non-boss, whose Hyper Mode had died to give way to his usual calm expression.

Only the orange eyes were proof of what he had said.

- But since I'm nobody's boss and we're not part of the Mafia, so it doesn't matter. - He finally put his gaze back to the door of the Dojo and seeing that the girls seemed to have difficulty with the trinkets he had brought, he still added. - So as friends and family let's just forget this ever happened and move on. - He huffed, puffing his cheeks childishly, in a stark contrast from seconds before. -…Even though I'm really annoyed right now.

Then he cast one last look at the pair, who looked extremely pale and speechless.

-...Looking at your faces now, it looks like you saw a ghost. - He put on his soft, guilt-ridden tone, his eyes gleaming with a bluish glow. - Sorry if I got too heavy, believe it or not I was in a good mood this morning.

And with an apologetic bow he walked away willing to help the girls, thus missing Bianchi's smile, the glint of his barret, and the moment Storm and Rain collapsed to the ground, unable to stand.
