Days Later

The incident with Lucas became town gossip. Everyone had something to say. A judgement to pass. Haley. Skills. Mouth. Did what they could to protect Camden from people's ignorance and lack of proper information.

"My momma said you're dad's a drunk. And my daddy says. If he isn't careful he's going to end up on the street begging. And he'll get rid of you."

"Don't you see it Camdumb. You're the problem." A boy taunted.

Camden wanted to walk away. Like his father had taught him to do. But it was just too much.

Camden went after the boy. Knocking him to the ground as he punched him.

"Fight! Fight! Fight!" The other kids cheered as they circled around the boys. In the hallway.

"It's no surprise he acts like this. Between that father and no mother. It's sad really. Tragic."

"Let's be honest no one expected much out of this kid. You've see his record." Another teacher whispered.

Camden heard it all. He knew what teachers and other kids thought about him.

...

Lucas was being released today. And once he left here. He was off to rehab.

Getting there took a number of hours and being admitted was simply answering questions.

Detox lasted 72 hours. Physically and mentally a toll was taken.

But he got through it.

When i woke up i was on the floor of my room.

My body hurt. And i just didn't want to close my eyes anymore.

I was afraid to sleep. I saw them every time. That last fucking day.

Before everything was ruined.

Lucas traced the etched out letters on his arm.

Alive

As if alcohol didn't do enough damage. I found a release in causing myself pain. I wasn't proud of that.

"I know why you're here Lucas. There is a file but i want to know from you. What brought you to this breaking point.?"

"Where does the turmoil in you're life begin.?" The therpaist asked.

"The fire. I lived and they didn't getting me out."

"I've regretted every breath i've taken since." Lucas admitted. Staring out at the window of the therapist office.

...

"Why did i have to hear about Lucas's situation on the street.?"

"I mean you've been all over with Nathan and without him. Why aren't gloating about how lucky i am that i didn't get all invested in Lucas.?" Brooke asled.

Looking to Peyton.

"I have my engagement. This pregnancy. Everything i ever wanted."

"I refuse to waste energy on Lucas Scott." Peyton replied.

...

Haley finished with the latest round of customers. And got out her notepad to take orders.

"I'm sorry to interrupt. It's Haley right.?" A voice asked.

Haley looked up. "Mrs. Haley James Taylor."

"Who wants to know.?" She questioned.

"I'm Brooke Davis and i heard about Lucas. I would really appreciate you giving me his location. I want to visit him."

"But if you would rather keep this private i understand." Brooke explained.

Haley thought it over and looked to the woman.

"The visiting hours are until 6. I'm sure he would like to see you." Haley replied. Handing over the rehab business card.

...

"Stalking is a crime Jake. In case you didn't know." Peyton announced.

"You spend 3 days in bed with me then go home to play house with Nathan. Come on Peyton." Jake said.
