Chapter Three: Chapter Two:
"So far, Now, It seems that he is sleeping okay, But the amount that I would've liked", She answered honestly, He was afraid of that. She went on to sat with a smile, "He is determined to kick this in the ass, He wants his life back", The Blond is gonna help do just that. He knew that the Five-O Commander is a fighter, He is glad that he is not gonna quit, Not now or not ever. He also wants to help his friend avoid any more unbearable pain in the future.
"I am gonna do everything in my power for him, Not just because he saved my life, Clark loved my kids like his own, He put Steve's needs in front of his own, He did his damnest to make him happy", Catherine agreed with that. The Blond went on to say, "What is your part here, Catherine ?, Gonna stay or go ?", He looked at her with his blue eyes. "I am gonna stay for awhile, I just got to deal with final details with the CIA, & then I am here for good", Danny wrapped her in a tight hug, & exclaiming with a hoot, "Hot Damn, It's about time !". Catherine just smiled, as a response to that.
"Is there room at Five-O for one more ?", She asked in a hopeful tone. "Duh !", Danny exclaimed, He was just happy that his ohana was whole again. He smiled, as heard Steve laughed, as Charlie told him one of his kiddie jokes. It was the most beautiful sound that he ever heard, & he realized that he was pining for his friend over the last 10 years. Catherine smiled, caused she realized it all along. "You're in love with him, Aren't you ?", She asked, as they watched the scene in front of them once again.
"I was or still am, Clark knew, We talked about it, & I knew that he loved Steve more, & he would make him happy", Danny admitted to her softly. She waited to for him to continue on, "I decided to be selfless, Cause, It was time for Steve to be happy, Clark was such a noble guy, How could anyone not love that ?", Catherine's heart broke for him. Danny was glad that the secret was out, & he was feeling much better. Catherine gave him some advice that he could use, She hopes that he would take it.
"I think that when the time is right, You should tell Steve how you feel, He deserves it", The Naval Beauty said, as she took the direct approach. Danny told her that he will consider the advice, & think about it. He doesn't think that he has a chance in hell with his Super Seal. But, Something has to change, & he knows that he hasto do it. He was startled out of his thoughts by his son coming up to him, & asking him this.
"Danno, Danno, Can we go to the Aquarium with Uncle Steve, Please ?", Charlie asked with excitement. Steve went pale at thought of going to a public place so soon after Clark's death, But, He didn't want to disappoint his little pal. Grace said, "Charlie, Let's let Uncle Steve arranged everything", as her way to defuse situation. The Little Boy looked at the little boy, & he couldn't bare to see that expression on his face. Steve said this, as a way to make the little boy feel better.
"Charlie, I'll do you one better, I will arrange everything, If you find us the best place for ice cream, Deal ?", He said, as he smiled his first real smile in awhile. Grace felt like a kid again, & piped in with, "I'll help you, Charlie", The Atmosphere brighten in the room. It made Danny fell in love with the man even further. Danny, & Catherine exchanged looks, without any words, The Shorter Man knew what he had to do.
"Can Catherine come too ?", The Kids asked in unison, Steve looked at the beautiful woman in question, & she silently nodded her approval. The Five-O Commander told them, "It won't be family day without her", Catherine was glad that Steve was slowly breaking out of his old shell. They were making plans, as they were there having their traditional Movie Night, & soon it was time for them to go home. The Former Seal felt better for the first time in a long while.
Steve was smiling the whole ride back to his place, while he let Catherine drive. It was good to have a routine again, & it was great to see Danny, & the kids, It made him prioritize his life, & future better. After they got settled, & changed, Steve & Catherine had one of their "chats", It made Steve things a little bit better. Then, He got ready for bed, & he could not stop thinking about the evening, & fun had. He was glad to reconnect with Danny, & have something good in his life again.
