Chapter 2: No answers

It was getting dark and Rin wasn't dreaming, he pinched his hand twice to make sure, and still he couldn't believe it.

How the fuck did he end up in that place?!

He couldn't remember anything, not only that, he also felt ansty, specially with the headache and without his sword. To his growing concern, he didn't even know if Kurikara was in this place to begin with (He didn't find it in the alley when he woke up, so he just hoped the sword was safe with Shura or Yukio, heck, maybe even with the clown at this point was good, but he still didn't know what to think of that guy). He was very confused with this whole situation if he was being honest.

When Shura took Kurikara from him, he understood, he knew he needed to learn to control his flames, but now the lack of it was more than an inconvenience.

So far he hadn't seen or felt any demonic activity, not even coal tars. That was good, strange as coal tars were very common and usually there was a few here and there, still, good, but nothing assured him that demons wouldn't appear, what if his presence attracted demons to that place?, even worse he didn't know if there would be exorcists near to control the situation if it arose. He had to hurry if he wanted to return, maybe then he would find and explanation of why he woke up in an alley in the first place.

Rin was getting more and more anxious, a lot of questions flowed through his mind, so to at least solve a few of them he decided to start asking, what else could he do?

He stopped a few bypassers asking how to get to True Cross Academy, and no one knew how, some saw him as if he was crazy. Then he asked how to get to Southern Cross Boys' Monastery in hope to at least get somewhere that would be familiar, but he got the same result. Rin felt a stone in pit of his stomach. True Cross Academy was famous for being one of the best schools (and the most expensive he has ever known if the cafeteria prizes were anything to go by) in Japan, but then again he didn't know where he was, even if it looked like one of the cities of his home.

Rin was getting frustated but then he felt the light bulb turning on in his head, why didn't he think of this sooner?

Rin stopped a bypasser to ask to borrow a phone but after looking a bit at the man's outfit he didn't know if he did the right choice (was the man a cosplayer in his way to a Comicon or something?). The man was very tall, muscular, he had a square jaw which juted out, and short white hair. He wore a cyan-colored cardigan, which exposed his lower torso, a large black-striped headband, wrist-guards, a belt and dark blue, with a white stripe down each side, baggy pants, and plain black shoes. To Rin's relief, the man got his cellpone out of his pocket and gave it to him. Finally he could contact someone! He dialed Yukio's number… and the number didn't exist according to the man's phone.

The teen looked at the screen in confusion and annoyance, he was sure he dialed the number correctly, how come his brother's number did not exist? He tried twice before trying with his classmates numbers, after that, giving up he returned the cellphone to the owner.

Perfect, now what he was supposed to do?

«Ok, think… First... I need to know where exactly am I, maybe a map from the train or something… that will help»

Rin then stopped a woman with bags full of groceries, and the nephilim noticed she had forest green hair.

He gave her a sheepish grin

— Excuse me, could you tell me where is the nearest train station? I'm kinda lost

— Oh!, sure, just continue foward and then turn to the right at the corner with the Miyoshi Dininig Room, it's a few blocks from here, you can't miss it — the woman answered kindly.

— Thanks!

Rin started to follow the instructions he was given. He was at the sixth or seventh block when suddenly and without any warning his blue flames were brought to life without his will. How?!

His blue eyes, with now blood red pupils, widened in alarm and confusion, and his now enlonged elven ears were down in worry, his tail was out too. Shit! What the hell is happening?! How?! He was in the middle of a crowded street!

But he realized, he felt it! It was Kurikara! Someone must have unsheathed it! FUCK! That could only mean the sword was here and someone had it! Shit! Where?

Rin was looking around him at the moment he realized this. He could feel his sword, was it near? Where was it?. His heart was hammering in his chest. He needed to get it back.

Then out of nowhere he started to feel sick, his head started to spin. He though he was going to puke!

People had started to gather around him.

«What… is… happening?» The blue eyed boy tried to reason with his hands on his head in an attempt to not feel worse. He could hear voices around him but he couldn't process what they were saying.

The nausea and dizziness weren't helping, his flames were increasing and getting brighter and brighter. It was too much! His eyes began watering and his ears were ringing. Everything felt so so loud, so so bright. Why?!.

He was able to notice his flames were getting out of control with his state.

«I have to get out of here before I hurt someone»

That was the only thing Rin was able to think.

People moved out of his way as he was running.

When Aizawa was reported about a teen with a quirk, that apparently was blue fire, out of control, he inmediatly got on the move. Could this kid be related to the League of Villains or at least to Dabi? Even if not, his quirk Erasure would come in handy as water quirks weren't working as far as he knew (the police told him this detail on the phone), and the boy could hurt others or himself.

Arriving at the location, an alley near Dagobah Municipal Beach Park, he was received by the police and a few pro-heros

— Thanks for coming Eraserhead— said one of the officers

The underground hero nodded in response and asked

— What is the situation with the boy now?

— He refuged in the alley, he didn't stop running and we tried to turn off his fire with water without success. The flames in his body keeps us from getting any near him. As far as we know he looked scared, or at least stressed

Aizawa looked at the end of the alley. He could see the boy covered in bright blue flames, sitting next to a trash container

— Ok wait here

As Aizawa was slowly approaching the boy, he could hear the rapid breathing of the kid and see how he was shivering, pressing his hands (hands with sharp nails, Aizawa noticed) against his ears (long and pointed), and closing his eyes tightly. Not too far from the boy was a small puddle of fresh vomit. Even not close enough yet, Aizawa could feel the heat radiating by the blue flames. The kid wasn't aware of his presence yet.

Another thing Eraserhed took note of is of something that striked his core. It wasn't fear, but it put him on edge. He couldn't understand why as soon as he was getting near the kid, every fiber of his body told him DangerMonsterDangerGetaway.

Now closer, Aizawa also took note of the long black furry tail that was curled above the boy's feet, just like how cats do when they are worried or frightened.

So at a distance that he considered adequate, he took a deep breath composing himself as best as he could and said softly, in an almost whisper (he still wasn't really sure if those ears gave the boy enhaced hearing but he wouldn't take that risk, not with the way the boy was clutching them, they were about to bleed).

— Hey

The boy looked up at him. His eyes were the bluest the underground hero had ever seen. The feeling of uneasiness raised at those blood red pupils but Aizawa also saw that they were full of fear, confusion, sadness. What made his heart clench a little was that he recognized that those eyes were the eyes of a kid that had experienced more that any kid his age should. This was just a kid in need of help.

The kid downed his gaze, shrinking a bit further against the trash container

— Please, go away… I… don't wanna burn anyone, everything is too loud and I can't turn this off — The frustration was clear in his voice

— I know, thats why I'm here, I can help — answered Aizawa trying to be as least threatening as possible

The kid gazed at him again and blinked twice, now with a look that silently asked How?

— Would you let me help you?

The kid took a few seconds to consider his options and finally nodded still a bit doubtful.

Aizawa activated his quirk, his eyes turning red and his hair floating.

The kid held his breath in surprise, obviously not expecting that but composed himself. Just like a lighter, his flames were put out. Aizawa also took note that the boy's ears shortened (they were still pointy though) and his pupils were now black.

— Huh? —The boy looked at himself in disbelief and then back at Aizawa — How?! What did you do?

— It's okay, it's my quirk, I can temporarily erase other quirks

The Underground hero, seeing the boy a bit calmer, deactivated his quirk ready to activate it again just in case. But then without any warning the kid passed out.
