Epilogue
"Are you sure they will be here? You know how she can get since meeting him," said Bill.
"Oui. That is why I cheated and had Teddy call her two days ago to promise she would bring the twins, since they'll be staying with Nasira during Christmas. They've been eager for Hogwarts for months now," said Fleur smugly.
Bill chuckled and kissed his wife. He never could have believed how that tiny, skittish girl he had meet before the Quidditch World Cup disaster could have turned into a fierce, confident woman who would travel the world with her husband handling problems.
As Jamil had so eloquently put it...Acacia was the bared sword to directly challenge the army, while he was the silken dagger that would shield her from the fools who sought to bring her down while she was out doing what needed to be done.
Thanks to the power block of the Black/Longbottom combined with oddly enough, the Malfoys (lead by Draco), things had changed for the better for Magical England. Where before they were the laughing stock of the ICW, now they were respected again.
Dumbledore was the first thing they got rid of, but they politely phrased it as "forced retirement". Jamil viciously called him out on all the nonsense his wife endured, backed by multiple witness testimonies and statements from the students as the staff was untrustworthy.
He agreed and pretended that it was only 'temporary' ...until he realized they were absolutely not joking about the safety of the students and the necessary reforms.
The next thing they overhauled was the school system itself. McGonagall had been ridiculously overworked, the Defense class was an absolute joke by this point (Headmaster Flitwick was more than happy to allow curse breakers in the school provided they didn't mind the students asking the ones not working questions), and the less said about how lacking the school curriculum was, the better.
Jamil forcibly made them update the muggle studies class, and added a wizarding culture class that was mandatory for the first three years. It was to insure the muggleborns, who were raised ignorant of the older customs and traditions, were given a proper education and knew how to avoid the social faux pas that made the weakened Pure Blood faction hate them so much.
Considering the sheer amount of gold that was now up in the air, Jamil subtly suggested that people go to the goblins for a DNA test to see if it could be claimed. And if so, that the new heirs or head of houses be given proper classes to help protect their traditions.
Narcissa, not being a complete idiot and seizing the chance to keep the Malfoy name in high society considering her son was still very much a total brat, had begun hosting classes with her elder sister Andromeda for the witches who suddenly came into their inheritance on how to act like proper ladies.
While the loss of Lucius had hurt like hell, Narcissa wasn't going to let her daughter grow up a pauper or unaware of what was expected of her. Draco had been in absolute shock learning his mother was pregnant when the wish happened.
A few minor changes made were that even the teachers agreed to. For example, during the second year students would be allowed to sit during some of the third year and up classes to see if they would enjoy learning the subject, even if it wasn't in line with their original career goal. Waiting until fifth year for career advice was simply ridiculous in Jamil's honest opinion, and it was unlikely the muggleborns would be aware of the required courses to become healers, aurors and other specialized roles.
Having them sit down and see which classes appealed to them before they made their choice, and being given the option to change their classes should it prove not to their liking...or if they didn't have the gift, in the case of Divination...would make things much better for the students.
Madam Longbottom was swift to agree that extra teachers needed to be hired...the staff was overworked, underpaid, and the school brooms were in such dire need of replacement that it was a miracle no one had gotten seriously hurt outside of a broken wrist like her grandson had.
A few words from Acacia, and the companies that sponsored the racing brooms such as Nimbus and Cleansweep were eager to donate the older models in order to sponsor future Quidditch players, since it was very good PR for them and a win for the school. After all, if a player flew on a broom they donated, they would be more inclined to buy said broom and happily promote it for the company and earn them money.
Acacia actually bought her own children brand new Nimbus brooms once they were old enough to learn how to fly responsibly, which had been a major PR boost for the company.
The results became obvious within the first few years. It started as a trickle, but the relationship between the factions had started to finally become somewhat tolerable. Yes, they barely tolerated each other when they were around an opposing faction, but was nowhere near as caustic and violent as before.
It didn't help that the most vocal and dangerous members of the pure blood faction had more or less be wiped out in short order, or that Voldemort never made a reappearance.
Nasira knew what she was doing, after all.
Hearing a commotion, Fleur turned to see Briar, Rose and their younger sibling Seti rush up to Victorie, Dominique, Louis and Teddy.
The babbling of children was watched with a maternal eye by Acacia, who was just amused.
"They wouldn't let either of us sleep until we got to the train," she said fondly.
"Where's Jamil?" asked Remus.
"He had to leave early," said Acacia fondly.
"Wizangamot business?" asked Bill.
"Actually he mentioned a 'special surprise' and Nasira said she was happy to take Seti for a while," said Acacia.
Jamil did make it to see the children off. He normally wasn't fond of them, but when it came to his own he was a good father. Nasira doted on them as a favored aunt, and the children adored her.
Seti happily went with his aunt to her house, since she had promised sweets and magic training.
"So...what was this about a 'special surprise' you mentioned?"
"You remember how I was looking into traveling to other realms available to us, since you mentioned you were getting tired of cleaning up after people?" asked Jamil.
He had gotten used to the name and if asked, claimed he was the reincarnation of Jafar. Hermione had been openly amused, unaware that Acacia was only giving her a partial truth.
Jamil kissed his wife on the top of her head.
"Well...thanks to the children being with their cousins for a bit, I've perfected the spells required for us to world travel."
Acacia perked up at that. They had spent the past decade since the wedding traveling the world, learning magic and in the case of Acacia, how to fight with a sword properly or dance.
Jamil had discovered an interest in break dancing, and found it rather fun. His sister had teased him about it for ages until her nephews started copying him.
He had found it beyond enjoyable, even if he had to make regular visits to England to handle Wizangamot business and to prevent the likes of the old blood from removing all the hard work he had put into making magical England respectable again.
Ever since the final wish was made, his wife had only become more beautiful in his eyes.
She had grown into herself, and into her powers. Jamil had been utterly delighted to learn she spoke snake fluently. And that it had passed onto their children.
Acacia was vibrating with happiness, and once they returned home as Seti was with Nasira for a while, got her travel gear together and tossed it into the pocket dimension they had created together.
Iago and Hedwig would be with the twins as their familiars, as Rose had become smitten with the snowy owl, and some of the climates weren't exactly appropriate for her breed.
Iago was a little protective of the kids and wanted to make sure they settled into their new school before returning to his master.
He was the first to admit Jamil had mellowed out considerably since getting married and he adored Acacia.
"Shall we go on another adventure?" asked Jamil.
"With you love, every day is an adventure," she said, kissing him.
The two disappeared through the portal of darkness to a new adventure.
