I am back for a least a bit for this story, I love Wandering Fragment but it needs careful attention.

I don't really like the chapter where he saved Lee with the Chakra chains, but I am too late to fix it. It is the only chapter I dislike.

I figured out what I wanted to do, it is amazing what proper medication can do for bipolar and my clear thoughts. I am in love with this chapter, dearly and deeply.

One week til the Third Exam

Ino moved gracefully, slicing her tanto against Rai's chakra chains, feeling surges of chakra splash against the air as metal met hardened chakra. She did this thrice more, all teh while Rai blocked each strike with his chakra chains. With a flick of chakra, her boyfriend twisted one of his chains to wrap around her blade and tear it from her hand, tossing it aside. With the three other chains, he lashed at her, gouging tracks into the ground as she flipped and dodged each strike. She barely managed to evade them, but evade them she did, even with her weights on. However, after slipping on the morning dew, Rai managed to tag her with a chain, ending their game.

"I win!" Rai crowed, smirking at her.

She pouted. "Those chains are amazing, I think those things make you chunin level alone."

"Only when combined with my other skills, which are only just reaching high genin level due to Naruto neglecting his training for so long... well that and being neglected for so long. Still, at this rate I ought to be easily chunin level by the summer's end."

She nodded, pleased. " I think I will be chunin level by the months end, I am so close it hurts. I would have been Jonin level easily by this point had I actually trained before, and stopped being so lazy in the academy."

"Likely, but you are growing now."

She nodded, pleased with herself. "So, what not? I mean... For the last three weeks, we have both been training with weights like Lee, training in evasion and taijutsu and throwing skills, especially Senbon since you told me how powerful that Hunter Ninja was. Both of us have gotten really good with the replacement, since you said Kakashi was a master of that, and we both mastered the Shushin since it is so useful in and out of battle. You showed me Medic level chakra control exercises which have massively increased our collective control and increased our reserves by at least twenty percent though granted neither of us has a lot of chakra to begin with. You have been working on your chains and your medical skills in the hospital, really excelling at both! I have been working with the Tanto you bought me, thank you for that by the way. Oh and you taught me the Water Pulse Jutsu, and The basics of Dancing Leaf taijutsu. I am sure we have both increased our speed by like thirty percent alone!

So what now? I mean, we both know my mind transfer jutsu is forbidden on Naruto for some reason, unlikely to work on someone as fast and skilled Neji, suicidal on Gaara... so what should I do now?"

He frowned. "Well, everything we have been working on is to work against Naruto and Neji and Temari and Shino, but you are right. I think you need an ace in the hole, something extra. How about Genjutsu? I mean, it will only be a week of training but hey it could give you an edge, so few people use it and it would be helpful for both of us to use. If it buys you a minute, a second, it could mean the difference between life and death. Mainly it will help with Temari and Naruto, but in life in general."

She beamed. "That sounds perfect, we both have considerably advanced control, likely some of the best in our age bracket. Oh and by the way, I am going to be joining Torture and Interrogation after the Chunin exams. That crazy Lady, Anko, she said I impressed her. She is going to show me combat like a real badass kunoichi can. Poison and so many other things." She bit her lip, waiting for only a moment before revealing something she really thought was awesome." I think you and I can be a full team, a two-man or well kind of, squad."

He beamed right back. "That would be awesome. An interrogation expert, a medical expert, both well trained in combat to prevent overspecialization... we would be a devastating combo. We just need to add some tracking skills and boom, you get something big. We would be the best Capture squad there is, even better than Ino-Shika-Cho!"

"Righteous! Now, to the Library, time to study genjutsu, but nothing too advanced. You can get trapped in illusions if you cast them improperly. Only the basics, which you can't do that with."

"Sounds right, you and me, and I on you. Breaking illusions is a big skill too."

"Let's do this!"

:::

"You are an idiot." Rai told Naruto as he healed his headache, appropriately and in the hospital with the monitoring of his preceptor Manji. "Facing down Gaara like that was likely to get you killed. He is utterly deranged."

Naruto nodded. "I know, but he was threatening Lee... I couldn't...just... sigh... you know you likely saved him from far worse injury? I saw what Gaara was going to die, if he crushed his arm and leg like that, Lee would have been unable to continue being a ninja. You did a good thing."

"I know, but I wish the activation of my chains was not so... drastic. Still, it was pretty cool to see. I am glad it had a good cause. Now, what was the giant Toad I saw?"

"I summoned Gamabunta, the Chief of the Toads, but Pervy Sage threw me down a cliff to force me to use Kyuubi's chakra!"

Rai shivered with rage, hateful eyes turning towards his brother. "He did what?"

Naruto nodded, looking more sad than angry. "He threw me down a cliff! It was scary!"

"I am so killing him... this is why I should have been training with you, but no you insisted I help Ino!"

"I just wanted to see what I can do without you, and I wanted you to get the chance to be yourself without me... we need to be together and apart, you know?"

Rai stopped. "That was almost wise, Naruto... now... be more careful, you need rest. You have to kick ass in the Chunin exams in just a week..."

"YATTA! I will kick ass, even your girlfriend's!"

"She is much stronger, Naruto, I think she could easily beat your butt and Maybe even Neji's... though I think he's easily low jonin level in terms of taijutsu... sigh... anyway, be more careful. I have rounds to get to. See you later, Ru!"

"Bye, see you when you get home, Rai."

As he left, Rai turned to Preceptor Manji. "Any idea how to make my Taijutsu deadlier, I need something to stand out in combat...?"

Manji sighed. "Tsunade used Super strength... some use poisoned objects. To be honest I am not sure. Let me think on that, kay kid?"

Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.

This was a joy to write. This was a lot of fun.

Love, your Ninja Overlord,

Mika.
