"Okay, come back soon," Jasper said.
"Yeah..." I smiled widely and left the dance floor. I couldn't believe I actually spent so much time on the dance floor. I knew I was dancing horribly, but Jasper loved dancing, and I didn't want him to think that I was boring! Everyone always said that I was too boring, but I didn't want to hear that from Jasper!
But I actually began to get uncomfortable after a few minutes, so I thought a few minutes break shouldn't hurt.
I thought of going to the bar counter and I found Edward there, who waved at me as his eyes met mine.
"Hey..." I went to him and said. Even though we had started off with a fierce rivalry, we had slowed it down pretty quickly. We decided that we were in post grad school, not in high school, for God's sake!
"Why are you not on the dance floor?" I asked.
"You're asking me this question because you haven't seen me dancing," he chuckled.
"C'mon... You can't be that bad!" I said.
"Believe me, I am! And actually, I prefer being a wallflower at any party," he smiled.
"I'm also usually like that," I said. Not 'usually', I was always like that! I was trying to change myself for Jasper, because he was the life of any party! Jasper was very similar to Alice in that sense. I couldn't recall a single instance when I had managed to grab anyone's attention when my younger sister was with me!
"Should I order something for you?" Edward asked.
"Yeah sure..." I said.
Then we talked about different things, but mostly on the various lectures and assignments. I realized it while talking to him that he wasn't that arrogant as Jasper had described; he was just very passionate about everything he cared about and he liked to give hundred percent to everything.
"My Mom runs a charity and she has an event planned this weekend, so I'm planning to visit them," he said.
"Oh wow, your Mom runs a charity? That's so great," I said.
"Yeah, she's very passionate about it. I like to help her whenever I can," he said, "Hopefully I can find more time once the school is over."
"That's great. I also want to do something like that in future," I said, "But it's just in my head right now. I need to come up with a proper plan."
"I'm sure you'll figure it out," he smiled.
"Yeah, hopefully," I said.
Then we sat in silence for a few minutes and my attention was back to Jasper. He was dancing so energetically and gracefully. I wished I could be even half as graceful as him! He was just... perfect!
"You really like him, don't you?" he asked me after some time.
"Hmmm?" I felt like I was caught off guard.
He just laughed and shook his head.
"Don't tell him." I chuckled nervously.
"Of course." he smiled as he took a sip of his drink.
We could talk like normal people earlier.
We could understand each other better.
What had changed then?
Maybe I should try to change it again.
Yeah, I should try to talk to him.
