"What is this?" Tsunade asked, looking at the boy before her from behind a window, looking in on them in their hospital room while different professionals poked and prodded them. Both boys, Naruto and a clone, one that looked tired and emaciated and weak. His chakra was weak and thread, his body twenty pounds too thin. He looked horrible and yet Tsunade could not help but love him, as she did Naruto.

Jiraiya sighed. "Naruto and I found an old lab of Orochimaru, Naruto ran in and was attacked by a creature that was all grey and oozing chakra five times greater than my own. I am no sensor but I could feel the waves of power." Tsunade shuddered, thinking of the power needed to feel that sort of thing. "It grabbed and bit Naruto, in the throat. I killed it but I saw Naruto had a curse mark. A surge of Kyuubi chakra filled the room and boom the mark blasted off, only it grew, from a lump oozing chakra into ... this boy."

They both nodded and a minute later, Shizune appeared with a list. "Lady Tsunade, I have all the tests on the boys."

Tearing it from the hand of her apprentice, Tsunade read through the paper her eyes widening. 'This is Naruto, this boy is Naruto's perfect clone. He lacks any trace of Kyuubi's chakra, his chakra coils are suffering from atrophy, as is his entire body due to being emaciated. Inoichi's examination showed that he even has Naruto's memories, only they are lacking emotional context. A cellular examination states that his cells are new, like a baby despite being an adult, so he won't age improperly. Genetically he is identical to Naruto in everyday... " Her eyes widened. "Which means we have a new Uzumaki in the village, another line to hold the Kyuubi should Naruto not be able to anymore."

Jiraiya turned to her. "You want to keep it?"

"Him, he is still a person, clone or not, Jiraiya... we will keep him and if he likes, train him to be a powerful Ninja. He is one of the last Uzumaki's... look he is waking up, they both are..." Tsunade hurried into their room, just as the boys sat up and looked at each other. "Naruto, meet your clone, your brother I guess... he was made in the attack you foolishly got yourself in when you ran into Orochimaru's base."

Naruto, the real Naruto, gaped. "A clone, brother, Huh?"

"I am just as confused." The clone said, his tone softer, less scratchy than Naruto's.

"When you were bitten, Kyuubi expelled the curse mark which contains mutagenic chemicals that cause rapid cell division. It was enough, mixed with Kyuubi's chakra, to make a whole new person that looks like you Naruto and has many of your memories. Think of him like a brother, if you must." She sat at the clone's bed. "Do you remember me?"

The clone look at her smiling. "I know you love me." And her heart melted. "Um... if I am not really Naruto, do I get a new name? I don't feel like Naruto, I know his memories, I remember Sakura and Iruka and Sasuke,.. but I do not feel love or hate or whatever to them. I feel empty in that way, I guess..."

She frowned, then smiled. "Naruto means Maelstrom... and Uzumaki means Whirlpool, so why not Arashi. It means storm."

The boy's smile was as radiant as the sun. "I feel better, having a name... so... am I going to be a Ninja I know how to fight, but I also know that you are short staffed, you said so when went to Tea country. I don't want to be a burden... I know I don't like that." The boy tipped his head, looking softly at Tsunade, making her heart swell.

Tsunade's mind moved at a million miles an hour, searching for a way to not only turn Arashi into a powerful Ninja but to also keep someone powerful on him at all times for safety. "Well, Arashi, I can arrange something... " her mind clicked something fierce as the perfect candidate popped in her mind. "In fact, I have a kunoichi that is wanting to retire from one part of Ninja life looking for a change in her life, she would be a great teacher for you...her name is Yugao Uzuki, and she is a very powerful kunoichi. " She said, smiling. 'Plus I can keep an eye on you, at least until I know if you are to be trusted and are not corrupted by the curse mark or your ties to Orochimaru.' She smiled at him more broadly. "Yugao is a powerful Kenjutsu user, skilled Taijutsu user, amazing tracker, a talented sealer, with vast experience in all forms of combat. She would be able to cover many other aspects of ninja life, like Genjutsu and ninjutsu should you wish to learn them. She can even heal, at least slightly. Does this sound fair?"

Arashi nodded. "I think so... thank you, Tsu... Lady Hokage."

She sighed. "Tsunade is fine in private. Now both of you boys, get your rest, I will be having you evaluated more in the morning. Actually, you should probably get some food... food first, then bedtime."

Arashi nodded to Tsunade, settling into his bed. "I am sorry, Naruto, if you are uncomfortable with me here... "

Naruto nodded, looking sort of pale. "It's okay, not your fault... I... I am going to bed." And Naruto turned around, looking away from him, making Arashi feel like garbage...

But also deeply annoyed. 'It's not like I did a damn thing to bother you... jerk.'

Out of spite, he would eat the food the hospital gave him just a little louder than he ought to before nodding off himself, hopeful for the days to come...

"Are you sure, Tsunade?"

The woman turned to Jiraiya. "I will not imprison a boy, or harm him for a crime he had no part in. If we take care of him, the entire village will thrive. I cannot argue against that. None of us can... now... let's go to the Council meeting, they are going to be freaking out when they find out about Arashi..."

Jiraiya groaned. "No doubt... why do you drag me into these things?"

"Mutal suffering is better for us all." She said before literally dragging him away.
